Day Trip Festival: AC Slater on the decks with Kaleena Zanders performing one of my favorite song "Final Fantasy".

On a side note, Day Trip was by far one of my favorite this year. Though we only attended Day 1 (July 3rd, 2021) the Festival alone was worth attending. Most importantly I was able to cross off alot of my favorite DJs off my bucketlist of DJs to see. AC and Kaleena being one of them.

Chris Lake @ EDC Orlando 2016

Three in a row, baby!  It’s Thursday already, so it’s time to go back.  Not as far back as we have been, mind you.  Actually, now that I think about it, we’re going back almost exactly six months, to the most recent EDC Orlando in 2016!

This is an act I’ve been wanting to see for years.  He’s played EDC Orlando before, but it was way before I started visiting the festival myself.  As such, this was my first opportunity to see him in this a festival setting, and I couldn’t be more pleased!  I got there in time to see him, but I know I didn't catch the whole set... I think I caught the last half, based on when I took my first video, which is the first bit I’ve got for ya:

At this point I put my phone down, and that’s typically when other festival goers (who are for the most part extremely courteous!) ask me for a photo.  I love photos (as if that wasn’t obvious by, well... almost everything I do here!), and always try to get a copy if I don’t take it myself.  There’s a lot of visual stimulation going on at EDC Orlando, and only half of it comes from Insomniac, so I love getting pictures with other folks’ outfits, too!

Oof, the sun’s a bit bright in this one, so I suggested another try:

There we go, that’s a bit better!  She even picked up on and joined in with my claw pose!

If you’re nice enough to take a picture of your friend with The Big Gay Lion, you KNOW they’re gonna have to return the favor and take one for you with him, too!  These lovely ladies looked great, and had personalities to match!

Once someone breaks the ice and asks me for a photo, someone else uses that to come to the realization that I’m actually as fun (and friendly!) as I look, and they want their picture taken with me, too!

YouTube | Facebook | Instagram I didn't see Circuit Grounds for much during the day on Friday (Day 1), but stage and lighting design is fascinating to me so I was really enjoying the tech side of things.  I'm so happy they finally brought a wrap-around stage like this to Orlando!  Sure, they've had art installations to help define a space (like EDC Orlando's Neon Garden in 2014 & 2015) and tented structures that even included ceiling-mounted elements (like EDC Orlando's Circuit Grounds in 2015), but synchronized islands of visuals (like we see yearly at EDC Las Vegas for Bass Pod, for example) have eluded EDC Orlando, so I was super excited to see them this year! NOTE:  Images taken after EDC Orlando 2015 and beyond will have the "High Res" animated GIFs made from Burst Photos appear a bit smaller in dimension.  Apparently images from my iPhone 7 Plus (obtained right after my phone was stolen near then end of EDC Orlando 2015) are larger than the iPhone images I took previously.  Instead of cutting the image size of animated GIFs by one half, I'm cutting it by one third.  This gives me the animation fluidity and file size I've been expecting from the "High Res" animated GIFs that I've done previously.  I'm also having to include less frames (15 instead of 30) in the Tumblr thumbnail to keep the file size within spec.  If there's a desire for other sizes or lengths of the "High Res" or "Low Res" animated GIFs from these higher resolution Burst Photos my phone is now taking, I'll make them going forward (and maybe even update previous posts like this one with the new links).  Eventually I'll probably want to put these animated GIFs into some sort of video format, but that's another project I suppose!
