Participating in a lil Elden Ring DLC countdown over on Twitter, here’s the first batch of days as we get closer and CLOSER…

just thinking about elden ring + how absolutely amazing kalé's questline would've been if they hadn't cut it. genuinely would've considered doing the frenzied flame ending just for that. i feel while elden ring has good character writing overall it has nothing that would've hit on that level

Playing Elden ring for the first time and merchant Kalé is very much so my husband. Everyone go on ahead home I’ll be taking him.

Kale was asleep when Ranni showed up? Wow I didn't notice this

Yep! There's a light mist about the Church of Elleh, and both Kalé and his donkey are found with their heads bowed, unresponsive. You can't even speak with Kalé at that point, until Ranni leaves and he reverts to normal.

In fact, the manga also explores this a bit. According to Ranni, she moves about "through dark of night and depth of sleep" to avoid those who might wish her harm...

Whether it's just a gameplay thing to avoid the awkwardness of Kalé having witnessed this encounter and then saying nothing, or to imply Ranni literally put him into a sleep is uncertain, of course. Some say the mist has a violet color that reminds them of St. Trina, but I think it's probably meant to be a cold mist, like frost clinging to thickets early in the morning—like a "night of wint'ry fog."

oh yeah sorry for the ambiguity, i was asking about whether you think the Finger Reader Crones have the same accent as Enia (:

ah, well it was fun to speculate anyway lol. But yeah they have different accents! They have some similarities with some rolling r’s but the Crones have a sort of Southwestern English accent while Enia’s isn’t British at all. She sounds more like Kalé. I can’t pinpoint it exactly because I’m not as familiar with the nuances of a lot of accents outside of the UK, but it sounds somewhat Middle Eastern or maybe even Eastern European?? I’m not really sure. (if anyone who is more familiar with accents from those regions I’d love to hear your thoughts!)
