NinjaCon 1: Kakashi and Tori go off and have a grand time. Sasori shows up. No one likes this.

NinjaCon 2: Minato crashes. My initial concept was that Kakashi goes off with a hot cosplayer for the night and it would be the first time we got a Tori-Minato interactions without others to modulate. My NEW twist is that there’s a whackjob missing-nin who thinks the con is disrespectful to REAL ninja and starts targeting cosplayers. Minato and Tori are “kidnapped” and instead of just getting them out of there Minato keeps being like “I haven’t had a mission in years 🥺🥺 anyway we should see what he’s doing. Omg he has FRIENDS?” His guard will later completely lose their shit.

If you really wanna see the adventures of cosplayers in the wild, visit the Dunkin’ Donuts just outside the Hynes convention center during anime Boston (or really any of the stores around there but the dunks is where you get The Vibe). Watch as a line forms consisting of Sephiroth, a furry, the fourth doctor, and hatsune miku. Feel the childlike wonder of watching someone dressed as Kakashi from accounting slip the straw for their iced caramel mocha under their mask. Hear the guy from Jujutsu Kaisen order a “regulah.” God is real and he lives in the Hynes Dunkin’ Donuts during anime Boston weekend.

The awkward but also absolutely hilarious thing about having a roommate that’s well versed in anime but knows nothing of gaming youtube let alone minecraft youtube is that I am a cosplayer and when I go to cosplay my little minecraft guy I have to say, ‘oh yeah, it’s time for kakashi slightly to the left,” or, “off brand bleach dudes twin.”
