Favourite KakaSaku headcanons and tropes in fanfiction:

1. Kakashi harbouring secret feelings for Sakura but he never acted on them because he is old and broken AND they are student-teacher AND because Sakura loves Sasuke

2. Kakashi being the most handsome man Sakura has ever laid eyes on with the physique of a greek God

3. Kakashi‘s ninken adoring Sakura‘s scent

4. Ino or Gai discovering that Sakura/Kakashi has a crush on Kakashi/Sakura and trying in a not so subtle way to play matchmaker but for the most part only ends up creating hilarious moments for the two of them

5. Kakashi opening up about Rin & Obito and Sakura — as a result — bringing them flowers every day and talking to them about (her feelings for) Kakashi

6. Kakashi, although he is too handsome to handle, actually has limited experience with romantic relationships and/or sex but is a faster learner and thus is a very considerate and passionate lover/partner

7. Sakura is the more perverted one of the two

8. They grow closer (as friends) during the time Naruto and Sasuke are away from the village to the point that Sakura can just stop by at Kakashi’s anytime and they hang out and talk

9. On missions together Kakashi is annoyed when other shinobi or civilians flirt with Sakura and either claims her or doesn’t act on it because she can handle herself (but still has a close eye on her)

10. Kakashi defending Sakura against Sasuke in any way, shape or form and being there for her during her breakdowns

Falling For You Prompts (November 10-16, 2024)

Day 1-Slowly, Then All At Once

(Think about how a leaf falls from a tree, slowly, then quickly once it touches the ground. Kinda like a good slow burn romance that hits you with the feels once the characters realize that oh—they're in love)

Hm. Oh I'm so bad at this because stuff doesn't stick in my brain that well. I know I've read a lot of stuff I love. Guessing you've read all of Goldy/twoforteas's stuff based on your posts. 😂 I'm really loving The Danger of Smudged Storage Seals by bluemingqueen rn. Little Kakasaku is cute af. There's another in freaking loved but I can't remember it! It starts with her getting drugged at a bar and she goes to investigate someone drugging women and he thinks she's dead amd nearly drinks himself to death. So good I wish I could remember.

If you mean self as in stuff I've written, idk which is my favorite. It is the only ship I've written more than one thing for, I've got 6 or 7 of varying lengths. I'm really loving my WIP, Dreams of the Past, but of the finished stuff I really think Mistakes is one of my favorites. But it has past Kakashi/OC. I tend to write basically the same tropes because I am boring I guess. 😂 Consequences is pure self indulgence and I love it too.

What is a zine?

A zine is a collection of artwork, stories, and sometimes additional creative works, all focused on a particular theme and created by fans, assembled into a small book! Often, in addition to the zine itself, projects like this include merchandise such as stickers, prints, and charms.

Zine Type

P4P, meaning this zine will be priced at the cost of production. Any profits will go to a charity that will be announced before pre-sales open.

Zine Focus & Theme

The focus of this zine will be the romantic relationship between Haruno Sakura and Hatake Kakashi from Naruto. The theme of the zine will be seasons, and the zine will be divided into quarters, each one thematically focused on a particular season.

Will this Zine have merch?

Absolutely! Our exact merchandise will be decided during the contributor pitch process.

Content FAQ

Will this zine be NSFW?

This zine will be a mix of both SFW and NSFW works. All works will come with appropriate warnings and NSFW works will be marked on the contents page.

Will the zine allow underage content?

SFW works can portray characters of any age. NSFW works will be required to portray characters as 18+.

Will there be any other content restrictions?

We won't be allowing omegaverse, self-inserts, or reader-inserts, and all pieces must focus on KakaSaku.

Are AUs allowed?

Narutoverse AUs are allowed. This means you are free to play with eras and tropes as you please so long as you do so within the universe of Naruto.

Is AI art/fic allowed?

Absolutely not. Any use of AI will result in immediate removal from the project and a ban from all future projects involving the mods.

Participation FAQ

Who's allowed to participate?

Anyone 18+! We do ask that anyone who supports the Israeli occupation of Palestine and/or the Russian invasion of Ukraine does not apply.

Do I need zine experience to participate? Am I more likely to be accepted if I have it?

Not at all! You'll need writing/art samples to apply, but zine experience is irrelevant and won't factor into applications.

How many contributors will you be accepting?

Not including guests and mods, we have spots for: • 24 Artists • 6 Authors • 3-4 Merch Artists

What types of work will we be allowed to pitch?

All roles will be allowed to pitch both SFW and NSFW ideas. Artists may pitch page-illustrations, 4 page comics, and spreads. Authors may pitch 2k and 4k fic ideas. Merch Artists may pitch stickers, pins, charms, prints, bookmarks and more!

How will contributors be compensated?

Sales allowing, all contributors will receive a full physical contributor bundle free of charge. If we don't reach the sales goal necessary to facilitate this, all contributors will receive free copies of whichever items they worked on. Additionally, regardless of the outcome of the zine, all contributors will recieve a free digital bundle and a discount code for any additional items ordered.

hi - we are not well-versed in kakasaku but we were curious to know - is there fic out there of an age-deadline marriage pact? like 'if we're both ___ and still alive, we'll marry each other'? we hanker for their particular brand of glorious haplessness applied to the trope. even better if they agreed back when they were in a different life stage and for Reasons they're going for it anyway. please let us know if it exists

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love this blog, and I also wanted to take the opportunity that so many Kakasaku stories are shared here to express some frustrations I have when I’m reading a fic.I wonder if maybe there’s somone out there that share the same opinions so that’s why I’m here with a little list of things that bother me in a Kakasaku fic:

1- The “Sakura-Chan” thing. Kakashi does NOT call her like that, and frankly it only makes sense when Naruto says it. Kakashi calling Sakura like that is very ooc and not cute AT ALL for me.

2- Ino always being portrayed as the “sex expert”, pushing Sakura to dress sexy or whatever as if Sakura was a virgin prude with no sensuality of her own. It pisses me off, like why humiliating Sakura like that?

3- Sasuke being portrayed as a villain in OU fics: Sasuke suffered a lot of trauma and was heavily manipulated by Itachi, Orochimaru and Obito, but even if he was rude to Sakura sometimes, it was because he felt he had to push people away so he didn’t loose loved ones again. He deeply cared for team 7 so in OU fics, there’s a lot of ways you could write a good Kakasaku without having to bash Sasuke because canon Kakashi and Sakura understand Sasuke very well, it doesn’t make sense for them to hate him.

4- Last but not least, let’s be clear about what is slow-burn: slow-burn is when the relationship and chemistry are being constructed gradually, not rushed or urgent. They go slow with respect to each other’s limits. Writing a scene when the couple is about to have sex and then something/someone comes up and gets in the way is NOT slow-burn!!

Anyway, I just needed to take some things out of my chest because these little details really bother me when reading a story. Thanks for the attention, and keep up the good work!

This is where I realised I forgot most of canon and most of my Naruto knowledge now I think is purely from fics because I don't remember at all if Kakashi calls her Sakura-chan in canon or not! I don't mind it so much in fics, plus when it's used there is always a moment when feelings happen and he stops calling her -chan, so I don't so much mind this one. But I also prefer when he doesn't call her -chan, but instead sees her more as an equal in the field also (but idk if this is maybe a wstern bias I have and perhaps am not interpreting the japanese suffixes quite right).

I don't like the shy virginal Sakura portrayals either anymore (I think I did when I was a teen because I could relate to her that way). But also given the age difference and that in many fics Sakura is 18-19, I get the shy angle. But I just don't like reading that anymore, give me bamf, confident, sexually secure Sakura any day. However the flirty Ino is a trope I LOVE in fics.

(What does OU mean?) I get this but also I never really liked Sasuke too much. As an adult I understand that all his problematic behavior stems from being hurt and manipulated like you said, but the way he treats Sakura in canon is still very poor, traumatised or not. I get where it comes from but it's still not good behavior. Anyways in fics I also prefer when he is not such a bad guy, but a more sort of complicated situation. I also like the fics where he is dead but Sakura has only lovely and loving memories of him, which also complicates the situation

I am not sure what the actual fandom definition of slow burn is?? I am realising?? Because when they keep getting interrupted it's slow burn for the reader cause you want it so bad but it keeps getting delayed... but yea that's not so much slow burning feelings tha tthe characters have. While what you are describing is also friends to lovers (alt enemies to lovers) which is its own tag... so idk!! I'll take your word for it tho

What’s your feelings for SakuraxSukea?I think it’s the best crack ship ever!

I ship them! But it kind goes into kakasaku category for me.

I like the idea where Kakashi becomes Sukea to escape hokage daily life and just chill. And one time in the bar meets Sakura, who doesn't recognize him but they get along and eventually hook up. Emotionally turn Kakashi between what's right and what's not is such a tasty trope.

Okay so, if you're relatively new to the Kakasaku Fandom like me, and you HAVENT read anything by MyMindsMadness, go do it rn. If you're following me and read my stuff you know I have my favorite tropes and MY GOSH does thos author take them all the way. Kindred spirit? I feel it. They're stories are exactly what I want to read. I'm obsessed. I've binged like 3 in the last 48 hours. More to go. Also, I'm a smut skipper, and besides one scene in Hot for Teacher, it's easy to skip. And that scene was more how I write them, focused on the emotional and dialog then what's happening between their legs.

They seem to have left the Fandom, not having written in like 4 years, but if you haven't seen them like I hadn't after almost 2 years here,(I know i don't have a lot of followers but I had to share lol) go read them rn!
