Chef's Kiss Sneak Peak!
I don't know why I came up with what I did, just that I thought "Wouldn't it be nice if I came home to someone cooking dinner for me?" So That plus the shenanigans that KakaSaku could bring. Chef's Kiss by me, Shikabootay. Fandon: Naruto Ship: KakaSaku Warning: Naked Kakashi, Naked cooking
Sakura was contemplating on whether or not she would go and get something to eat since it took her all day to get home. As the sun set, she decided to eat some of the anmitsu she had at home waiting for her. She got to the door of her apartment when she noticed someone was inside. She heard footsteps and it worried her. Grabbing her kunai, she quickly walked into the apartment to see Kakashi there in nothing but an apron covering his privates and his mask over his mouth. She put her kunai back and sighed. “Makes sense. You had a shadow clone at the office, didn’t you?” Kakashi smiled and waved before nodding. “Maa, Sakura-chan. I don’t see you attacking your dear old sensei. I’ve been here cooking but yes, I have a shadow clone at the office right now. I just wanted to cook for you before you came home, but it's obvious you’re here a little early. That’s okay. I just hope it was a surprise.”

Agitated
Another KakaSaku one shot because why the hell not?  -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
While out eating dinner, Kakashi noticed that Sakura was too quiet even while Naruto, Shikamaru, and Kiba were bantering loudly across the table.
Sakura was not even eating her food. She was just pushing bits and pieces of meat around her plate, looking detached and uninterested despite the food being her absolute favorite. Kakashi was suddenly tense, and it doubled over when he saw Sakura look up and then silently stood before slipping away unnoticed by everyone, except him.
He waited a few minutes before deftly following after her.
Outside, Kakashi found Sakura standing on the small bridge that arched over a tiny stream. She was frowning and looking as though she was in deep thought.
Slowly, Kakashi made his way to her, having this strong urge to comfort her. He didn't mean to, but Sakura was startled when Kakashi finally spoke from behind.
The Copy-nin didn't beat around the bush and asked her straight on what was bothering her. At first Sakura appeared apprehensive, almost embarrassed. But Kakashi was gentle, coaxing, and persistent. Finally, Sakura relented.
"Kakashi-sensei, I really... I mean there's this boy that I'm seeing... and he was... well, he wanted us to..."
Kakashi watched Sakura's face turn redder with growing anxiety. In the back of his head, he already had a hunch of where this was going, and he could already feel something sinister stir within him.
Sakura gazed at him before looking away again as she fumbled for words. With a deep, steadying breath she murmured, "Sensei, I like this guy, I do. But I'm not... I don't want to be just his... his one night stand."
Sakura's voice had dropped so low that normal people would have had no chance of hearing. But with Kakashi's extraordinary hearing, the words were not lost to him. In fact, to the Copy-nin, they sounded as clear as though Sakura had spoken them directly into his ear.
Kakashi's reaction was immediate.
He felt his fingers curl into tight fists, his chest constricting with mixed shock and anger, and he could even feel his covered sharingan eye swirling behind its confines.
He was feeling these emotions for a variety of reasons. One would be that Sakura's statement had suddenly opened up his eyes that his once childish ex-student was no longer a child, but a young woman. Proof of that was this sleazy scumbag trying to bed her, and he was not in any way or form prepared to accept the fact that Sakura was now grown. Another reason would be that he hated seeing how distressed Sakura looked. There was no question in his mind that she was as appalled as he was to know that someone wants her in his bed, and not even permanently within the honorable standard, but just for one night as though Sakura was some loose woman. A third reason would be Kakashi being angry at himself for not looking after her as well as he should have.
Trying to control his emotions, Kakashi made his way to Sakura until he was right in front of her. Very gently, he placed a finger on her chin and tilted her face up so he could look into her eyes.
While his eyes were full of controlled rage, hers were filled with confusion and hurt. It was all he could do not to crush her in his arms and soothe all her worries away. Something told him it was a bit overboard, but for the moment he ignored it. Nothing was important but to make Sakura feel well again.
"Sakura, you don't have to be his one night stand, whoever the hell he is, or anybody else's for that matter. You know that, right?"
Sakura swallowed and sniffed, the corner of her eyes were suspiciously moist. "I know, sensei. But he made me feel so... wanted. I've never felt that way before, not even with Sasuke, ever. It was... it actually felt... good."
Kakashi's eyes darkened. "And what did he say? That since he's being so good to you and treating you right, you should return the favor?" He asked bluntly, his tone curt.
Ashamed, Sakura bit her lip. She wanted to bow her head again, to hide from his piercing gaze, but his finger under her chin prevented her from doing so. Instead, Sakura could only avert her eyes and slowly nod her head.
Kakashi hissed something under his breath, something Sakura didn't catch. As she finally had the courage to stare at her ex-sensei, she was suddenly struck at how serious Kakashi looked at that moment. She never thought he'd take her plight seriously, but one look at him was enough to convince Sakura that Kakashi was as invested as she was in this dilemma, maybe even more so. And that only added to her confusion. She never expected him to react so strongly, as though he cared for her deeply.
Something tugged at her heart at her last train of thought. Did Kakashi really care about her?
"This guy," Kakashi said through gritted teeth. "Do I know him?" Kami, Kakashi thought. What if he did know the guy? What if it was one of Konoha's teams? He couldn't imagine beating someone he knew to a pulp, but if it was for Sakura, he wouldn't mind getting even. In fact, just thinking that it was one of their own that propositioned Sakura like a prostitute was more than enough of a conviction Kakashi needed.
Sakura was watching Kakashi closely. Something in his voice sounded dangerous; ominous. She had never heard of that from Kakashi before. She was suddenly afraid to answer. Now she was finally aware of how his eyes had darkened and how she could feel his rage radiating off his body in waves. She became afraid to say anything lest she push him over the edge.
She didn't want to put him in trouble, or compromise his position as a respected ninja. She should have known better than let him know of her stupid problem. She was being a burden again, and Sakura wanted to hit herself repeatedly in the head.
As though reading her mind, Kakashi let her chin go, but only to grasp both of her shoulders and make her face him fully while bending his body to her level so his one visible eye remained locked on hers.
"I need to know who this guy is, Sakura," Kakashi said earnestly. "I promise I won't mindlessly hunt him and kill him." He added jokingly after seeing the look on her face, but Sakura was not fooled.
"Sensei, just forget about him." Sakura said weakly, knowing full well Kakashi wouldn't listen. If there was something she knew about her ex-sensei for certain, it was the fact that he was as stubborn as an ox.
Kakashi only stared at her, silently. Surprisingly not being pushy. It made her more nervous than when he would have insisted on knowing. Silence on the Copy-nin was never a good thing, because it can only mean one of two things: He had given up, or he had already planned something out.
By the way Kakashi gave him a small smile, she knew it was the latter.
Sakura's eyes widen at that. Oh, kami, no. What have I done?

Sakura Haruno fic recs: time travel AU
I'm finally getting around to recommending some good Sakura-centric time travel fics! There are plenty of them out there and they can be kind repetitive, but I always eat them up. Typically speaking, I really don't care much for the whole introduction bit at the start where it's the actual process of her being sent back... So just make it past there before you decide whether or not to continue!!! Also, I'm starting to think this list is getting kinda long, so maybe I'll do a second one?
I've been dying to post some of these fics in a list, so please enjoy!
Started: 2024.08.16
Last Updated: 2024.08.26
note: feel free to check out my master list which has a bunch of Sakura Haruno fic recs (all organized)!
----
Sakura - lilac haze || ffn/ao3 || M || minasaku || time travel AU || complete
AU. Non-Canon. Time Travel. Please see inside for full warnings. Cross posted on Ao3. On his deathbed he was granted eternal peace and place to rest for all of time. Of course that was not appealing to him. Ever unpredictable to the end he had a counter offer. One that the Sage had to consider. In which Sakura's going to have a rough time. A really rough time.
If there is one thing I want you to take away from this list, it is this fic right here. I kid you not, Sakura is one of the best fics I have ever read. I have never felt so gutted, so heartbroken, so giddy, so stressed, all from one work. It's a masterpiece all while being criminally underrated. The characterizations and storytelling are beautifully done. You feel for the characters and the relationships formed along the way are truly great. Please share this author some love.
Check TWs before hand!!

The Misadventures of Kakashi and the Girl From No Where - Goldfishlover73 || ao3 || kakasaku || M || time travel AU || complete
When a girl called Sakura seemingly falls in the sky, Kakashi is skeptical. Far more skeptical than the rest of Team Minato are. War is approaching quickly and this strange girl is leaving more questions than answers in her wake, Kakashi must decide where his trust and loyalties lie in a constantly changing world.
Told in the perspective of Kakashi in his youth! Really interesting take and I love how strong Sakura is in this in addition to the fact that we get to see a different side of Kakashi that we aren't used to.
.
Anachronistic Drift  - Elesrea  || ffn || gen || T || time travel AU || incomplete
Her plan was flawless. Save Shisui. Save the world. Time-travel, Sakura-centric AU
Sakura spends years training to be sent back in time and save the world from Sasuke. Whilst masquerading as her younger self, she poses as an unofficial ANBU to stay anonymous in her efforts of changing the shinobi world for the better.
.
Tourniquet - lilac haze || ffn || T || minasaku || time travel AU || complete
She was his tourniquet. She stopped the bleeding, she stopped his bleeding. She stopped his pain, his despair, his loneliness. She was the first face he saw. She was the first person he trusted. She was the first person to keep his secret. She was his tourniquet. He did not love her. He only loved the idea of her. SakuraXMinato. Time-Travel Fic. Alt. Universe
I quite honestly think this is a hidden gem amongst time travel AUs since I never see people recommending it, but Touriquet is so good! What's interesting here is that it isn't Sakura that's playing with time, but rather Minato. The night of the Nine-Tails attack, rather than dying, he is sent to the future where post-war Sakura is the one to find him and keep the former Hokage alive. It's a delicate situation and one which is kept a secret from many, but through Minato's depression and difficulties with his new life, Sakura becomes a close confident.
Same author as Sakura! I gotta read more of their works
.
Armour-Sleeved Single Hit - thatdamnuchiha || ao3 || T || madasaku || time travel AU || one-shot complete
Sasuke always told Sakura she was weak. Even after she trained with Tsunade for years he only had eyes for Naruto whom he considered strong. She would forever be invisible to him no matter how many mountains she toppled. Being a member of Team Seven despite Sasuke’s refusal to acknowledge her meant she got herself into her fair share of sticky situations. Getting stuck a hundred odd years in the past had to take the cake though. But she was just a weak little girl and compared to the shinobi of old she’d be ridiculously pathetic. Sasuke had said she was weak to him – a modern day shinobi who hadn’t been forced into battle after battle like they did in the Warring Clans Era. Obviously she’d be nothing more than a spec of dirt in the eyes of the Founders.
Sakura manages to find herself in founding-era Konoha! While trying to prove that medical ninja are capable fighters she unknowingly gains the affection of Madara Uchiha. After all, the Uchiha find beauty in strength. Super cute read!
.
here are the fruits of your labor (would you like a cherry on top?) - snickiebear || ao3 || M || shisaku || time travel AU || one-shot complete
Shisui smiles and it is unlike any smile she has seen before. She cannot remember the last time she had seen a smile.
Sakura manages to fix everything and now tries to live her life in a past she doesn't know. Shisui is the first to find her and the two of them form a close relationship that continues through her journey of recovery.
.
The Moon Knows Best - darth_healer || ao3 || E || madasaku || time travel AU || complete
The Moon has played a cruel trick on Madara. He's still home, but it's not the same. Instead of a tranquil forest, there's a colorful vibrant village. Instead of the cliffside he knows so well, it's a collection of Senju faces, one of which belongs to his good friend Hashirama. And instead of Hashirama, Madara is saddled with a very interesting, pink-haired girl. MadaSaku in which young Madara goes forward through time.
Madara finds himself far into the future where the first to stumble upon him is Sakura. He's such a brat, but his and Sakura's interactions are rather entertaining.
.
In the Magic Hour - summersirius || ao3 || E || minasaku || time travel AU || complete
It's not perfect, but everything is beautiful. —Minato/Sakura
A sharingan mishap lands Sakura in the past where she drops down in front of team Minato. With her hope of returning to the present time dwindling, Sakura excepts her new life and tries to make the best of the situation and the new bonds that come with it. The dynamic between Sakura and the older generation is quite refreshing and her mentor relationship with the former team 7 is great.
.
Stumble - writer168 || ao3/ffn || gen || T || time travel AU || complete
Sakura wanted to die.Sasori was fine with staying dead. But it seemed fate had other plans for them, because when they both wake up younger with blood pulsing through their veins, they had to remember how to live again.Time Travel AU
Sasori and Sakura are both sent back in time and they try to make a difference in their respective villages. Told in the perspective of both characters, but primarily Sakura. She ends up forming a pretty sweet bond with Ibiki and Genma (which I love) and they help her through some things. Sakura has a rough time
.
A Twist in Time - wolf08 || ffn || sasusaku || T || time travel AU || complete
With Konoha on the verge of destruction, Sakura is sent on a last-resort mission to save her world by travelling to the past. Join her in coping with her old body's shortcomings, testing the natural laws of time, falling in love all over again, and rediscovering who she is.
With Sakura frustrated at being back to where she started in her becoming of a shinobi, she begins to train with Sasuke. This time around in her life, her relationship with her brooding teammate isn't so strained. Pretty cute read imo
.
Return & Rehash - SpaceNugget11 || ffn || sasusaku || M || time travel AU || incomplete
"You," Sakura snarled with bared teeth. Sasuke gagged for air, clutching at her forearm, but she only pressed harder into him. Her green eyes crackled, and she wished she could burn him alive with the heat of her anger.
Sasuke and Sakura certainly did not end in their last life on goods terms and it is prevalent from the moment Sakura awakens and attacks her teammate.
.
An Inch of Gold - KuriQuinn || ffn || sasusaku || T || time travel AU || complete
Team 7 is sent on a mission to investigate a disturbance outside of the village, where they encounter an unconscious girl in a crater. The mysterious Sarada insists she's a shinobi from the Hidden Leaf trying to rescue her teammates. When the team discovers she possesses a Sharingan, things become even more unbelievable. [Part of the Legacy of Fire Series]
Sarada lands herself back in time all while crashing into another team 7 mission gone wrong. An Inch of Gold is in multiple perspectives, but they're all done quite well. Sasuke and Sakura are obviously rather flustered by the situation and the fact they have to deal with it in front of the team makes it quite entertaining.
.
These Eyes of Mine (I Can See) - tsukuyue || ao3 || gen || time travel AU || complete
They've lost. Naruto was dead, killed at Kaguya’s hands. Along with him died any illusions of hope that they could win. They couldn’t win, but perhaps they wouldn’t need to. In attempts to stop the Fourth Shinobi War from ever occuring, Sakura is sent back in time to the moment of her birth. Protecting the people she cared about would be much easier if she knew all the facts. OR Where Sakura can see the dead, and Danzō deserves to die.
I'll be honest, I can't remember much, but I do remember that it was really good! I believe a large focus is the Uchiha massacre.
.
Trials of Change - Espoiretreves || ao3 || gen || time travel AU || complete
Haruno Sakura made a promise. Looking in the eyes of her Shisou and the reanimated Hokage, she took on the most important mission of her life. Go back in time and try to prevent the 4th Shinobi War. Now, Sakura is back to her 5-year-old body, with all the knowledge and haunting memories of the future. She vows to keep her precious people safe and stop certain events from happening, without altering the timeline too much. The trials her emotions and logic put her through have her questioning her very existence, but for the sake of peace, she has to push forward. No matter what.
If you love Shisui then you'll definitely like Trials of Change. Him and Sakura form the most wholesome friendship ever and try their best in taking down ROOT. A huge cast is present here and the whole thing is just great. It seems as if everyone has some character development lmao.
.
Time Flies Like An Arrow - Katlou303 || ao3 || gen || K || time travel AU || complete
Sakura traveled back in time with the intent of changing everything, but something went wrong, and now she's four years old having nightmares about impossible monsters and losing friends she has yet to meet.
I always like the ones where Sakura isn't fully aware she time travelled. I find it interesting in this fic to see how oblivious Sakura is to her situation, she's a four year old in mind and body. However, she still feels the need to make a difference in the lives of the people around her.
.
cut the head off the snake - itsthechocopuff || ao3 || T || time travel AU || complete
when eighteen-year-old, post-war Sakura is thrown back into her tiny, pre-Academy body, she makes a decision. she'd had a childhood once already, and this time, she's more interested in Not Dying when the inevitable shit hits the proverbial fan. so she will work harder, care less, kill more, and smile when she's done.and hey, if she ends up reviving an extinct nature transformation to attract the most corrupt, power-hungry man from her timeline, all the better for her, right?
Sakura decides that her first order of business after traveling back in time is to infiltrate ROOT and that's exactly what she does. Sai, Shin, and Shisui are all great characters and team Ro is present as well. Very good!
Update: just found out it was recently completed!!
.

Q: Do you guys like my little comments? If you look at my other lists you'll probably notice that I tend to reuse some of what I say (bc I'm lazy), but for the most part I try to add something new whenever I put a fic on a list. I know that descriptions aren't always very helpful, so I like to put a little something for y'all to get a better idea of what to expect!
Send me recs if you have any!!!

Do you have any kakasaku recs? I’d love to branch out more with them!
hmm. It depends on what you like? I'd definitely recommend anything by @twofortea, @goldfishlover73, @bluemingqueen,
Dear Future You by @scarecrows-to-cherrytrees is one i read recently and freaking adored. And it's completed. Timetravel, broody early Naruto Kakashi, his future Sakura pops back to cause mayhem. Sexy, addictive, wonderfully written. There's one fight scene, if you read it you'll get it, but it's so dark, and sexy, and fuck I felt like I should hang up my keyboard because I'll never write anything so amazing when I read that scene.
Bluemingqueen has an adorable ongoing same age au/timetravel called The Danger of Smudged Storage Scrolls that I'm also seriously loving. I think it's almost finished. Its freaking cute. Awkward little Kakashi, determined to not be useless Sakura, sweet best friend vibes and mostly I'm just obsessed with how cute they are together so young! Its so well done and I cant wait till its finished. They also had a lot of great amazing one shots for kakasaku week. Like seriously, so good.
If you like AU, I just binged the shit out of The Exciting Adventures of Lotus Man, Blue Boy and the Not-So-Relucant Doctor Petals by goldfish. I had to Google the anime they crossed with for this but it was so hilarious, amazing pacing, the way they are like, PROFESSOR at smoth as fuck Xovers. Like. The way the two worlds work so well. The characterization are on point and if you like romance with a side of bromance and a shy Kakashi, it's for you. I really recommend this one. Goldfish also has a hanahaki disease long one shot, Blood Red Cherry Blossoms. It is beautiful. It is flawless. There isn't a single thing about the story that I would have done differently or went, "hm, idk but whatever." But the end will crush your soul for ever. It's been months and it still lives on my head, making me well up with sad and anger. It's okay though, because I wrote a fix it chapter 2 in my head so I console myself.
Tea has a lot of smut. Not really my thing anymore but what I have seen is... well done lol there are also several cute as fuck one-shot and short fics amongst the porn. Baby You Can Drive My Car is an adorable example. And No Dogs Allowed is as well. I love dog dad Kakashi here so freaking much. And I say that as someone that can not stand obnoxious dog people irl.
There are several other long ones I can not think of the names of rn. One, involved K and S getting involved in a drug/human trafficking thing. I wish so much I could remember because it was amazing. She's drugged at a bar, he saves her. She comes on to him, he actually is into it but she's drugged so. They finally get handsy later and she's abducted mid coitus. Gets wild from there.
Hope that helps!!

Hello, hello...What do you think are KakaSaku and DraMione’s each greatest personality strengths and weaknesses? Why? What do you love about their dynamic each?
(Hope you don't mind, that I copy the same questions from that same ask of that anon about SukuIta).
P.s Also can I ask your top 5 fav fics of those 2 ships? Please and thank you.....
Tumblr media
Greetings!✨ Minding? Are you kidding me? I get to talk about my favourite characters and ships soooo let’s get down to it, shall we?
Tumblr media
Kakashi is a genius in all ways that matter to become the perfect shinobi: he’s intelligent, capable of cold logic, perceptive, talented and has the will to perfect his skills. To me his greatest quality is to think fast and outside of the box. Not only does he analyse situations quickly but he also knows how to adapt his plans according to the changing variables.
Greatest weakness? Hmm…younger Kakashi certainly had more than one but older Kakashi? Probably still his tendency to judge people too quickly. I think, since Naruto and Sasuke were the troublemakers with the greatest potential he focused — naturally — too much on them and neglected Sakura’s training. He knew she had the best chakra control among them and still abandoned her. Maybe he thought she would be fine without too much guidance but I think he underestimated her potential because she acted like a typical teenage girl.
Sakura is intelligent. She might not be a tactical genius like Kakashi but she definitely matches his analytical talent. It takes her till Shippuden to not only be good at analysing situations but to also come up with good plans. That and her chakra control make her formidable.
Her greatest weakness? I have to go with simping for Sasuke. On the one hand focusing on getting Sasuke back and not wanting to stand in his or Naruto’s shadow helped with her training, on the other hand it limited her options of what she wanted to do/achieve in life. We never find out. She had the obligation to do something with her talent apart from “stopping” and “loving” Sasuke and it was waaaaaasted.
KakaSaku
To me it made sense that in another universe or time or under different circumstances those two characters could have been close friends or more. They are both intelligent and nerds in their respective fields, which are traits Sakura — even when she was a Sasuke fangirl — appreciated. They are both kind, empathic but also prejudiced characters with similiar values. I always had the impression that Sakura definitely would go for a partner, who matches her intellect and competence. Canon-wise Kakashi never invalidated Sakura’s feelings or made her feel bad about herself for not being or acting like the perfect shinobi. He looked out for her, saved her or comforted her. I think the moment Shippuden rolled around he also respected her as a fully fledged shinobi. He acknowledged her skills but never stopped looking out for her in dangerous situations. Kakashi showed her the level of care and kindness her love interest should have given her. But since Sasuke couldn’t allow himself to have such bonds, the contrast between his behaviour towards Sakura and Kakashi’s was even more apparent. Not even Naruto was so soft with her:
Tumblr media
The softness of that gesture... During the Kaguya fight we get more than one scene where they are both so soft with each other. Not to mention every time Sasuke acts like a dickhead we get a reaction shot like this from Kakashi:
Tumblr media
Kakashi was always good a reading her. It looked like as if they had some sort of understanding of one another that didn't require a lot of words, probably because they are both very perceptive. Apart from that I think the difference in their temperament is the best combination for a power couple. They remind me of Minato and Kushina in that regard. He, the quiet, logical and kind one. She, the explosive emotional and intelligent one with too much doofus energy. Take that and their shared history and you have so many interessting arcs and story building elements you can explore.

Tumblr media
Draco always had a lot of potential. His intelligence and creativity as well as his love and commitment to his family are his greatest strength. I think during his attempt to kill Dumbledore all of these attributes are combined and show what Draco is able to accomplish if he sets his mind to it. He is a problem solver and is able to make connections that aren't obvious to other people.
His insecurity and need for recognition is what is holding him back. It's also what fosters his cowardness. For some reason he is the Malfoy heir and still feels the need to compensate for not living up to his father’s (?) expectations. He is also more tilted towards the easy way instead of working hard or taking responsibility.
Hermione is brilliant and very persistent. A deadly combination. When she has a clear goal in mind she is working rentlessly towards it. Sometimes even with no regard towards others. Her ambition, studies and her talent to think logical saved Harry and Ron more than once.
Greatest weakness has to be her disregard of other opinions. She can be close-minded and has a hard time accepting other views about the world, especially about topics she has already thought through. Everything she doesn't understand or isn't able to dissect with logic, is dismissed or questioned by her.
Dramione is an intriguing idea because on the one hand they are opposites of each other: the Malfoy heir and the girl next door, the pureblood and the muggle born, Slytherin and Gryffindor, Death Eater and Golden Girl. And yet they also mirror each other in various aspects: Draco makes fun of her blood status showing he his set in his view of the world but so is Hermione. Accepting other views is hard for her. Draco can be analytical and hellbent on achieving his goal. Similar to Hermione. He can be cruel but so is she. He knows exactly what to say to trigger people but so does she. They are both impulsive. He is insecure ablout himself as is she. He wants to be recognized as does she. You can ask so many story building questions with these setups alone — even when you don't count in both the canon and headcanon moments and the shared history of those two. The clashes of their personalities and ideals makes for pure entertainment and drama, but their similiarities and the conflict of them being on different sides of the war is what great love stories are made of. They play well off each other in every situation you throw them in. I always thought that Hermione needed someone who is as smart and ambitious as her, but who is also able to question her world views and who isn't afraid to push her limits. Also he would charm her with his ingenuity. As for Draco (and that's purly speculation on my part), I think he would've reacted well towards somebody, who values something other than the Malfoy name in him.

Ok I think I climbed out of the kakasaku fanfic rabbit hole. Mainly cause I really don’t care for one shots and I needed somthing else. So I let ao3 pick the next pairing I’m gonna read everything (but one shots) about.
It’s now Shisui and Sakura. You know they would be glorious if he had lived! If things were different I bet they would be friends to possible lovers. Ok that’s a stretch but knowing our girl I still think they’d be friends.
How did I get to this? I adjusted the filters to where it was Sakura haruno tags and then went for the first fanfic on the list 😅

2 Truths & 1 Lie
Pairing: KakaSaku
In case any forewarning is needed, here are the main tags: monsterfucking, consensual sex, asylum horror, mean girls, violence, knotting, breeding
Tumblr media
PART 1:
Shriveled leaves crunched aloud in the dead of night as a gaggle of teens trudged their way up the steps of Kage Hospital, a once esteemed asylum many years ago. With the full moon as their only witness, the rambunctious group giggled and shoved each other forth—closer to a pair of doors spraypainted with a warning.
“Keep out,” Sai read aloud.
With a snort, Ino slung a backpack off her shoulders to retrieve her own spray can. She stepped around her boyfriend and, with a shake of the can, proceeded to add the words ‘YO MAMA’ underneath the warning.
“Really Ino?” Tenten raised her brow over the group’s howling laughter. “We’re supposed to save the paint to mark our way so we don’t get lost.”
“Ah, no worries!” Naruto piped in around a mouthful of candy he’d nabbed off a porch. “If we get lost, we could always just ask the ghosts for directions!”
Tenten shuddered in response, visibly distraught by the warning on the door. She was the one most reluctant to partake in tonight’s game of revelry, but it was too late to bounce now.
Stuffing the can back into the bag, Ino shrugged. “What’s Halloween without a few tricks up our sleeves?”
Ah, Halloween—a night of ghouls galore and tricks or treats. Of course, being on the brink of adulthood made it difficult to plead candy from strangers as opposed to the little monsters running around the neighborhood with their pumpkin buckets stuffed with candy. So it had been Ino’s idea to dress up in costume for the night and play up tonight’s celebration with a test of courage.
The idea had struck her the day the new girl had been introduced to the class just last week. And like most girls in school, the new girl had set her big green, cat-like eyes upon the number one most popular boy in—not just the school but the whole freaking city.
Sasuke Uchiha.
‘Who does this arrogant bitch think she is?’ Ino had asked her friends during lunch period.
They were watching the new girl introduce herself to Sasuke, one dainty hand twirling rosé locks and the other dainty hand settling possessively atop the crook of Sasuke’s arm.
‘Dunno, but she’s kinda hot,’ Naruto had commented, drawing an aghast look from Hinata who then shot the new girl a scathing glare.
Ino crossed her arms, ignoring Sai’s puppy-eyed face begging for her attention as she was entirely focused on this girl who seemed to be quickly taking over her spot as the school’s queen bee.
And Ino would never let that happen.
Pasting a smile on her face, she sauntered over to Sasuke’s lunch table with an apple in hand. As if sensing her arrival, New Girl perked up from where she sat on the table (right next to Sasuke’s lunch) and turned her cheek to greet Ino with a sugar sweet smile.
Fuck, that numbskull was right—the girl was hot. Not in the curvilicious sense, but she had those perky little tits and slim hourglass shape that was trending all over social media. It didn’t help that she had that innocent, pretty kind of beauty that made all the horny boys in school wanna take her out for dinner in the hopes they could facefuck her on the car ride home.
Ino held out the apple in hand like a miniature Trojan horse. “Hi there! I’m Ino, and you must be the new girl everyone’s been talking about! What’s your name again?”
Those vivid green eyes didn’t even blink in the face of the snide remark scarcely hidden in Ino’s question. Or maybe the new girl was just too dumb as she merely tipped her head coquettishly and accepted the fruit.
‘Hello, Ino. I’m Rin,’ she had answered sweetly before sinking her teeth into the juicy red apple.
Crunch!
And so Ino’s plan to teach the new girl a lesson had begun. In an act of friendliness, she would invite Rin to join the group in a fun test of courage on Halloween night.
‘It’s pretty much a rite of passage among everyone here,’ Ino had lied straight through her teeth. ‘Everyone does it.’
Said everyone smiled and nodded their heads like the bobbleheads they were.
Rin had hesitated for only a split second before caving in under the pressure of everyone’s appraising stares (especially Sasuke’s).
From then on, the plan continued accordingly. The girls and guys cozied up to Rin, making her feel like she was one of them when the truth was far from it. And nobody else was as excited for Halloween night to come as Ino was. She had even bought a portable charging bank and mic for tonight’s livestream that she was certain would gather hundreds if not thousands of viewers tonight (and hopefully just as many subscribers).
She had especially made sure that everyone in the group wore costumes. Naruto and Hinata as the lion and lamb, Sai as a reaper, Tenten as a sexy sports girl, Sasuke as a ronin, and obviously Ino had to dress as the slutty angel because Daddy had always called her that (except the slutty part, duh).
Accidentally (but not really), she had forgotten to pass the memo on to the new girl, so imagine everyone’s surprise when Rin had appeared at their designated meeting spot decked in a glittery red skintight bodysuit that showed off her toned body and much more skin than Ino had expected from the girl. A headband with bedazzled horns and a pointy tail completed her devilish costume.
The boys had whistled low in appreciation, prompting a roll of the eyes from the girls and a demure blush from Rin.
She’s blushing now, but she’s going to be crying when the night ends, Ino had smirked to herself.
They piled into Sai’s car, all six of them shoving their limbs into a tangle before they drove off toward the woods.
Through the window, Ino studied the tall pine trees that increased in density the closer they got to the asylum. By the time they parked on the side of the road to hike the rest of the way through, the trees were so tall and thick, surrounding them ominously with their branches stretching out like claws.
The massive iron gate creaked open with an unsettling screech that bordered on a scream. They pushed through it, trampling on overgrown weeds that had taken over the courtyard.
Before them, the asylum towered menacingly. Each broken window was pitch black like the building was in a state of eternal death. Considering its morbid history, no doubt the place still reeked of death. Its crumbling walls with large cracks spidering across were an even greater testament to the horrors that had once unfolded within.
Behind them, an owl on a low branch hooted in offense of their intrusion. As if to demand ‘who goes there?’
Ino thought it was perfect.
Little did she along with everyone else know that they were going to get much more than they had bargained for.
Now the group stalked the dark and narrow corridors with the beams of their flashlights as their sole source of light and comfort. But little comfort did they receive when the light revealed the copious ritual symbols that littered the peeling wallpaper in shades of red.
“Sasuke, I’m scared,” Rin whimpered, huddling closer to Sasuke who puffed his chest ever so slightly out of a prideful need to protect the weak.
“It’s just graffiti from the other kids who came before us,” Naruto explained as he shook his own canister to paint a dick over a pentagram with inscriptions written around the five points of the star.
They continued onward, marking the walls of the lobby with arrows to remind them of which direction they came from once it was time to make their way back.
There were eight floors to explore. Eight floors worth of trash from years’ worth of other kids roaming around and disturbing the silent dead here either on a dare or for a prank. Cigarette butts lay swaddled in dead leaves and layers of grime. The occasional takeout box and empty soft drink sometimes tripped them (especially Naruto).
Several times, Hinata or Tenten shrieked at what they thought was a ghost only for the so-called ghost to turn out to be a rat.
In fact, it seemed the entire asylum was truly deserted of people and ghosts alike. Nothing to see here except for the same ritual symbol that kept popping up every few doors down, or doodles of dicks.
In the corner of Ino’s screen, the number of viewers watching her livestream began to drop like flies. Panic started to set in. It was still too early for the main event, but she had to find a way to keep the viewers’ attention.
Raising the phone level to her face, she began to address her dwindling audience. "Everybody's heard of the story of the Killer of Kage Hospital, right?"
“Huh? Yeah, it’s—”
“Shut up, Naruto, I’m talking!” Ino hissed at him before turning back to her audience with a forced chuckle. “Anyway, for those of you who don’t know, the story of the Kage Hospital Killer takes place almost a hundred years ago back when the asylum was at the peak of its popularity. Apparently, one day, a really crazy patient broke free from her restraints and went on a murder spree, killing all the orderlies, nurses, and doctors with just a freaking scalpel!”
Naruto popped into the corner of the frame to run his finger along his neck, making a gurgling sound. Somewhere in the background, Rin giggled.
“The culprit was a teen girl who went, well, a little crazier than she already was,” Ino continued, twirling a finger next to her head. “Security eventually came and shot her dead. Now her ghost is said to haunt the halls of the asylum with a scalpel, searching for anymore hospital staff to kill. And those who wear white are the biggest targets.”
As if realizing what she’d said, Ino glanced down at the see-through lingerie dress she wore—a delicate lace white.
She gulped. “C-Crazy, right?”
On the side, several comments popped into view.
Suckmahduck69: show us ur tits
Gigachad: yaawwn
ReadyFreddy: where r the jumpscares?
The_Devil_in_dissguise: you’re next
Ino frowned.
“What about the rest of the patients?” Rin spoke up, drawing all attention to her as well as Ino’s ire for stealing the spotlight of her livestream. She blinked curiously at Ino. “You said the girl killed the hospital staff, but what did she do with the other patients?”
“Oh, that’s right!” Ino kept her smile trained on her phone as they continued meandering through the halls. “Well, the girl let loose the rest of the patients who then disappeared into the woods. But, since they were all part of the same loony bin she came from, they never made it out of the forest alive! Now it’s said that the patients haunt the woods, and their moans and cries for help can still be heard in the dead of the night.”
“OOOoooOOh! I’m hungry for peanut butter jelly sandwiches—help!” Naruto floated back into the frame before Ino shoved him aside.
“Guys, we’re already on the fourth floor and there’s nothing here,” Tenten whined. “Can’t we go back now?”
Ino glanced at Rin who was gripping fearfully onto Sasuke’s elbow now. She threw Tenten a silent look that said ‘stick to the plan!’ to which Tenten responded with a little whimper of defeat.
“You know, much of the asylum was left untouched after the murders,” Hinata reminded the group. “I’m sure the director’s office still holds the files of the patients. If they’re still there, we could dig up some information on the Kage Hospital Killer.”
This time, it was Sai who hesitated. “According to the directory we passed earlier, the director’s office is all the way on the eighth floor. If we stay too long here, a patrol might see our flashlights and charge us for trespassing.”
“Babe, we’re in a remote area deep in the woods,” Ino assuaged her boyfriend with an assuring stroke on his arm. “No patrol officer would actually take the time and effort to come this far and this close to an abandoned asylum just to make sure a bunch of kids aren’t smoking pot or drawing dicks inside.”
“She’s right,” Rin chimed in. “There’s nobody here to catch us… and nobody here to save us.”
They gaped at her for a moment before Ino raised her flashlight to propose that they all head to the director’s office to peruse through the patient files. It was a sure way to grab more viewers for her channel, she theorized aloud, much to Tenten’s dismay. And maybe after Halloween, they could start a podcast where they’d discuss in depth all the terrifying, supernatural shit that they’d encountered.
Rin clung to Sasuke at the back of the pack, but Ino didn’t mind as she preferred the camera to remain solely on her.
They continued passing through a ward lined with rooms that appeared to be more like cells for prisoners rather than for patients. The space was as small as a broom closet with most of the mattresses either gone or tossed on the floor bearing questionable stains on the once white sheets.
“Ooh, you know what would be cool?” Ino suggested after muting herself on the livestream. She gestured to a wheelchair that had been abandoned in the middle of the hall, temporarily blocking their path. “One of you should hide in a corner and, on my mark, you push the wheelchair into the frame so that it looks like a ghost moved it!”
Immediately, everyone looked to Naruto who capitulated with a groan as he made his way to the wheelchair. It was coated in thick layers of dust that clung stubbornly to the seat even as Naruto moved the chair in a better spot. Ino directed him to stay out of the frame and kick the wheelchair gently with his foot to trick her viewers.
“Oops, sorry, I must’ve hit the mute button with my thumb!” Ino apologized to her audience with a pout. She flipped the camera around to display the hallway and took measured steps until it was Naruto’s cue to nudge the wheelchair. “So we are currently making our way to the director’s office on the very top floor to see if we can find the killer patient’s info—kyaaaah! Oh my goodness, did you see that?!”
Panning the camera to center on the wheelchair that had rolled into view, she zoomed in on the contraption for her viewers to get a good look at the so-called paranormal activity.
“Oh gosh, this is so terrifying!” Ino whimpered out, clutching Sai’s arm in a show of fear. “It looks like the spirits here haven’t been put to rest! Should we continue on? I-I don’t know about this anymore you guys—this is just too scary!”
Everyone crowded around Ino’s phone to see if the number of viewers was rising now. In the back, Rin watched the wheelchair gently turn its wheels and continue rolling on… and on… and on… pressing closer to them until it finally halted just outside their little huddle.
After a notification dinged, Ino screamed in excitement. “Hell yeah, I got twelve more subscribers!”
Emboldened by their new wave of followers, the group pressed forth, faking sounds with the pipes and making up bullshit to pass off as stories to their gullible viewers.
“And here we have a bathtub where one of the younger patients committed suicide,” Tenten said, wiping fake tears from her cheeks that had been created by the eyedrops she kept in her pocket. Feigning a sniff, she pointed at the tarnished porcelain of the tub where the water had long since run dry, leaving only indescribable stains. “It was said that she slit her wrists with a sharpened pencil. Oh, the poor girl!”
“But when she failed, she realized how much she wanted to live… only for a nurse to drown her out of anger instead,” Rin cut in, speaking out of frame until Ino turned the phone’s camera onto her.
“Hey, I was telling the story!” Tenten complained until Ino hushed her.
“Actually, Rin’s story is more interesting,” Ino admitted. “Sorry, Tenten, but yours is too cliché.”
Tenten grumbled at that but said nothing more on the matter as they took the stairs to the seventh floor where apparently the most dangerous patients were kept in padded cells and straitjackets.
They played around inside the rooms for a while, bouncing themselves off the padded walls to see how well cushioned they were (which, after a few bumps and bruises, they soon discovered was not very cushioned at all).
As they were in the middle of discussing how to stage the next act, Naruto was unexpectedly shoved against the padded wall—hard enough to make him collapse to the floor in a state of shock for a hot second.
“The hell is your problem, Sai?!” Naruto glared at the other boy who hadn’t budged an inch. “I wasn’t ready yet!”
“But I didn’t touch you?” Sai returned his glare with a confused look.
Naruto turned his glare onto Sasuke whose hands remained embedded deep in the pockets of his ronin costume. His anger soon melted away, however, as he started to think this was all part of the script.
“It must’ve been a ghost then!” Naruto exclaimed, grabbing his shoulder like he’d been branded and howling as if he was an animal in distress. “Oh no, they’re getting more violent!”
Hinata stifled a giggle that was cut short by the door slamming on them without warning.
“Oh shit, did you see that?!”
“I think I got it on camera! Everyone in the comments is going crazy!”
“Hey, who did that though?”
“Dunno, it wasn’t me.”
“So then who…?”
“It was probably a draft,” Rin’s voice slipped through the dark just before the door swung open again to reveal her standing by it, holding it aside so the others could exit the cramped cell. Seeing their perplexed expressions, she smiled in assurance. “Someone might’ve left a window open nearby.”
They oohed and aahed at the rational explanation, nodding their heads in agreement again like bobbleheads.
None of them questioned the eerie way the other doors down the hall would slowly open or close by themselves. If anything, the ominous ‘screeech’ and ‘creeaak’ of the rusty hinges would send them in a titter as they joked that one of the ghosts must’ve farted really hard.
As they filed into another room marked ‘SMILE THERAPY’, the door screeched shut behind them, followed by a strange moan that passed just outside in the corridor.
“Your mama’s so gassy she shat herself to death!” Naruto cackled into the cold darkness, and the others followed with hoots of laughter.
“Your mama had such severe internal bowel syndrome that she thought she was in labor only to take a dump as big as a baby!” Sai joked, only to be met with blank faces and an awkward silence.
“Sai, what the actual fuck?”
“Anyway, let’s hurry to the director’s office before my viewership drops again!” Ino redirected the group’s attention back to the task at hand.
She yanked on the door handle, grunting in surprise when it refused to budge.
“What’s wrong?”
“I dunno, it’s not opening?”
“Maybe you need to twist it the other way?”
“Doorknobs can twist both directions, remember?”
“Exactly why you should try the other way then!”
“It won’t make a difference!”
“Just try!”
“I am!”
“Maybe it’s locked?”
“How can that be? Obviously, there’s nobody around to lock it from the other side!”
“Well, obviously whatever you’re doing isn’t working!”
“And obviously you’re not doing shit, so shut up!”
“Here, let me try,” Rin approached Ino to take her place at the door.
At first, Ino scoffed, thinking that if she couldn’t open the door then nobody else could either. So she was completely baffled when Rin lifted a manicured hand (with blood red polish to match her costume) and delicately turned the knob until they all heard the faint click of the latch releasing.
“Guess you just had to jiggle it a bit?” Rin smiled amiably at Ino who responded with a roll of her eyes.
And then she rolled her eyes even harder when this time it was Sasuke who stuck close to Rin’s side. It seemed everyone had a newfound admiration for the new girl who was the only one to really keep a level head and a kind heart in light of their otherwise gloomy situation.
It didn’t go over Ino’s head how everyone started talking more directly to Rin with a genuine curiosity. Where was she from? Originally here in this city until she had to move away as a young girl, but she was back now. Why did she come back? She missed home and her people and wanted to settle here for good. Did she have a boyfriend? No, she wasn’t sure if she was yet ready for one, but she was also tired of feeling alone for so long now…
“Okay, enough chitchat—we’re here!” Ino cut their conversation short as she raised her phone to the heavy oak door that stood before them. She fixed the lingerie dress of her angel costume, then the halo on her head, ready to return to the livestream now that the main event was close at hand.
Hinata and Tenten directed the beams of their flashlights to the brass nameplate that dangled off the door’s front, barely hanging on by a single nail.
DR. KAWAKI SENJU
“Kawaki Senju founded this hospital nearly a hundred-twenty years ago and immediately took charge as its director,” Ino began to explain to her audience. “But in his youth, he was a combat medic from the first World War. They say the horrors he witnessed during the war shaped his ethics and beliefs for this asylum and the insane who inhabited it. He was one of the first doctors who opined for the legalization of the lobotomy but was rejected by the board and nearly ostracized as rumors started to swirl around that he was performing unethical experiments on his patients here. To this day, nobody knows if those rumors are true… or false.”
“Why did you say the word ‘false’ like it’s supposed to be a scary thing that he didn’t lobotomize his patients?” Naruto questioned her only to be silenced by the glare she cast his way off camera.
“Anyway, before we enter, remember to smash that like button and follow for more content from yours truly!” Ino blew kisses at the camera before flipping her phone around for the other girls to do the same (under her commanding gaze).
The director’s nameplate swung precariously as Sai opened the door, letting it creak wide open for everyone to get a peek into the room. Most of the space within was enshrouded in darkness and dust motes, forcing the group to pile inside for a better look.
Like most of the furniture they’d come across, the mahogany desk in the center of the office was turned over on its side. Some of its drawers had popped out, leaving a splatter of papers all over the floor or draping halfway out the drawers. Almost as if the director had been in too much of a hurry to gather some important documents first rather than prioritize his escape.
Rin trailed a digit along the edge of the desk to study the thick layer of dust that coated the surface as well as the scratch marks that dented the wood.
Wandering to a broken shelf pinned to the wall, Hinata observed the cracked photo frames that lined each platform. She noticed that while most of the hospital staff appeared to be middle-aged men, most of the patients sitting in the photos were young women.
“Guys, let’s hurry up here,” Tenten whined as she lingered at the doorway. “I’m getting the creeps just standing!”
Righting the director’s fallen chair, Naruto plopped himself in the seat and pointed the beam of his flashlight up his face to cast his wicked grin in a ghastly light with the shadows stretching across the walls. “It seems our dear patient, Tenten here, suffers from major anxiety disorder. Tenten, can you tell us what seems to be the problem? Perhaps your meds aren’t strong enough? Do you need to be… lobotomized?”
“Naruto, cut it out! That’s not funny!”
“Everyone, shut up and take a look at this!” Having been rifling through the metal cabinets and perusing through the documents with Hinata’s help, Ino raised a manila folder victoriously. “This is her! The Kage Hospital Killer!”
Flashlights and shadows bounced around the office walls as everyone scrambled to the desk where Ino carefully balanced the folder on an upturned drawer. The seventh person—Rin—lingered by the lone couch that faced the director’s desk. It was the one seat meant for whichever patient had the luck to meet the director face-to-face.
Rin fixed the couch in place and then smacked its stiff cushion to release a cloud of dust. She coughed and waved a hand to clear the air, frowning when not even Sasuke minded her. Fixing the tail of her costume aside, she sat down on the couch and examined her stiletto-shaped nails, admiring the bloody shade of them.
At that moment, her flashlight winked—once… then twice.
She frowned and jiggled the flashlight, but the beam continued to falter, threatening to wink out for good.
She noticed Naruto’s flashlight was experiencing the same issue. And so was Hinata’s… and Tenten’s… and Sasuke’s.
“Um, guys? Did you check the batteries before leaving?”
Nobody paid attention to her. Not when they were so preoccupied with what Ino had found. Rin might as well have been a ghost to them as their flashlights, one by one, waned and winked out, leaving Rin alone in the dark.
“The paper is really old now, so you have to touch it carefully,” Sai warned his girlfriend.
The edges of the folder were ripped, and much of its buff color was stained with black smudges and slim fingerprints suspiciously printed all over in the shade of years-old blood.
For the first time since stepping into the hospital, everyone simultaneously fell quiet, their smiles dropping away and heart rates increasing with anxiety rather than excitement.
With a dramatic flourish, Ino opened the folder and began to read the dossier. Her eyes shifted side to side as she quickly scanned the lines of words inked across the pages.
After sifting through the rest of the documents, she set the folder down and waited for everyone to lean in and listen to her verdict.
“Well, it’s official. This bitch was clinically and utterly insane!” she burst out into a fit of giggles, lifting her phone to show the proof to her audience. “The only sane thing about her is that she had a fondness for reading. Still, the doctors deemed her so crazy that she was scheduled to be lobotomized! The day she was supposed to receive the procedure was the day she lost her marbles and decided to kill everyone—geez, this is gonna be great stuff for the podcast. What do you guys think?” she asked her audience, checking the number of viewers again and watching the digits increase.
Upon seeing the chat on the side, however, Ino’s grin faltered.
BooRadley: can u talk louder? Cant hear
CreepyCuddly: yah cant hear shit
Eerie_Einstein1000: don’t u hear that?
The_GrinReaper: dude wtf is all that screaming in the background
“Screaming?” Ino echoed, looking around the room and prompting the others to do the same. “You guys pulling my leg here? I don’t hear anything?”
Paranormal_Punster96: all I hear is screaming?
BooRadley: Srsly tf is that?
Suckmahduck69: @BooRadley ur mom
CreepyCuddly: oh snap
BooRadley: dude stfu im serious
“Guys, any more troll comments and I’m gonna have to start modding,” Ino warned them.
Still trying to shake her flashlight back to life, Rin glanced at the vlogger. “Something wrong?”
“Nothing,” Ino muttered, watching the last comment pop in.
The_Devil_in_dissguise: soon you’ll be screaming too
“S-So we’re done here,” Ino announced, flipping the folder shut with more force than necessary.
A hand size photo slipped out from between the pages, fluttering to the floor and landing between Ino’s feet. She glanced down, brows pinching together slowly as she stooped over to pick it up.
“I wanna see!” Naruto insisted, sidling closer and squishing up against Sai to get a better peek at the photo.
“Where’s your flashlight? It’s dark here!”
“I-I dunno what happened—the batteries must’ve run out!”
“Ugh, you idiot, why didn’t you check them before leaving?!”
“’Cause you and Sai we’re honking the horn and making me hurry!”
With an impatient click of his tongue, Sasuke snatched the photo from Ino to scrutinize it himself. What he saw gave him pause, then made his brows knit together in confusion before his expression smoothened out into a cold, blank look. “Huh.”
“What’s ‘huh’ mean?” Naruto demanded, reaching over to grab the photo for a look.
Riiiiip!
“…. Oops.” Grinning sheepishly, Naruto raised the photo—or at least the torn pieces of it—in both hands.
Ino let out a screech and carefully plucked the photo’s fragments out of his grip. She shoved her flashlight into Hinata’s hands, directing her to hold the beam steady so that she could put the pieces together.
It was a grainy, black and white photo with not much going on in the background save for a pile of books sandwiched on a lumpy mattress. The titles of the texts could not be read, but if one were to squint very closely, they might recognize the five-star pentagram symbol that was painted all over the walls of the hospital.
The same symbol the group had passed by earlier.
But that was not what Ino and the others were focused on. Rather, it was the figure sitting in the center, properly and primly on the lumpy mattress.
The photo’s tear had cut across the girl’s neck, leaving her slim lower body, decorated in a patient’s gown, detached like some headless ghost. Ino slowly put the other torn piece of the photo together where the torn edges met, and everyone gasped.
“Now that’s fucking wild.”
“It’s crazy.”
“It is said that we each have our own doppelganger somewhere in this world, so maybe—”
“Sai, now you’re just reaching.”
One by one, they lifted their gazes over to Rin who had just finished unscrewing the bottom of her flashlight to check the batteries.
Sensing their eyes on her, she met their stares with bewilderment. “What?”
Chuckling softly to herself, Ino turned the photo around to show her—show the young lady in the photo. Show how the girl wore the same shoulder-length hairstyle with the sideswept bangs just like Rin. How their bone structure and face shape was practically a perfect match with each other’s. How those big emerald cat-like eyes gazed back at one another, blankly.
“She looks just like you, new girl,” Ino crooned out, wagging the photo tauntingly. “Look, everyone! It’s the Kage Hospital Killer! Geez, new girl, you picked one hell of a costume for Halloween—is your bubblegum pink hair even natural or is it just a wig to copy the Killer’s look?”
They all laughed at that with even Naruto reaching over to tug sharply on a pink lock of hair from Rin. Swatting his hands away, she stood up from the couch and retreated to Sasuke who’d kept his cool in the corner.
“All right, that’s enough,” Sasuke spoke sharply, ceasing all laughter in an instant. “We should head back now. It’s already seven in the morning.”
Squinting at his watch, Naruto’s face contorted in confusion. “The hell are you talking about? It’s barely five—not seven.”
“No, no,” Sai shook his head and tapped on his phone. “Your watch is off. My phone says it’s only midnight.”
“Well, that doesn’t make sense! We came here at eleven and we’ve definitely been here for longer than an hour.”
“But we can’t have been here for five hours—or even seven,” Tenten argued, equally as perplexed by the time on her phone. “It doesn’t feel that long. Besides, it’s still pitch-black outside.”
“Maybe our phones need to be updated?” Hinata weakly proposed, but no one bought it.
Ino threw her hands up in defeat. “Who cares! We can figure out the real time once we go back home,” she enunciated the last three words slowly, glancing at the others meaningfully before turning a wide smile onto Rin. “New girl, since your flashlight is the only one still working well, would you be a dear and shine a light onto the doorway? What I’m gonna do is each of us take turns saying goodbye to my livestream and file out one by one with me last. Then I close the door, end the stream, and you come join us after. Sound okay?”
Rin hesitated for a moment and took a brief look around the dark office and the decaying walls that seemed to press in all around her. Even in the poor light, she paled visibly.
“Unless… you’re too scared?” Ino faked a sympathetic pout.
“Um…” Rin looked to Sasuke who seemed already bored of her indecision. With a sigh, she raised her flashlight to where the others stood by the door. “O-Okay, let’s do it.”
At that moment, they all thought the new girl was an idiot for walking right into Ino’s trap. Had it not been obvious enough what their real intention tonight was? Seeing Rin remain so naïve after having been nothing but helpful tonight was making the others start to feel bad. Yet, they also thought that if she was too stupid enough to fall for Ino’s tricks—on Halloween night of all nights—then surely she deserved what was coming to her.
So one by one, they filed out of the office, casting Rin one last look over their shoulder to see her pretty, innocent, smiling face.
Brilliant cat-like eyes watched them leave until it was finally Ino’s turn.
“Thank you all for coming with me tonight,” she smiled sweetly at the camera, watching the comment section begin to flood with farewells. “Stay tuned for my upcoming podcast where we will do a deep dive on the history and lore of the Kage Hospital Killer’s true identity. So remember, hit that like button and follow for more content! Goodnight!”
By now, the chat was mostly dead what with only a few remaining stragglers left to comment.
ReadyFreddy: gnite!
Eerie_Einstein1000: night!
Paranormal_Punster96: have a good night!
SexySatan: Sweet dreams
The_GrinReaper: Good night!
The_Devil_in_dissguise: Goodbye.
Slamming the door shut, Ino quickly pulled out the key she’d nabbed from one of the drawers in the office. She had just planned to let Naruto hold the doorknob, but she’d never imagined her luck in finding the actual key to lock the door!
As soon as the key turned with a soft ‘click’, Ino backed away to direct the light of her phone on the door.
“Hey, can I come out now?” Rin’s voice emanated from within.
They began to giggle and Ino had to hush them even as she herself snickered with glee.
“Sasuke? Guys? Seriously, my flashlight is completely dead!”
Silence….
The door began to rattle then as Rin tried to open it only to discover too late that she had been locked inside.
“Hey, let me out!” Rin screamed and started to pound on the wood now. “Let me out!”
The brass nameplate of the director swung side to side violently.
“Let me out!”
“Ino,” Sasuke spoke up from behind. “You’ve had your fun already. Now open the door and let’s go.”
Holding a finger up to silence him, Ino pressed an ear to the door to listen to the pitiful weeping noises coming from the other side.
“P-Please don’t do this to me,” Rin sobbed softly, still pounding on the door but in slow beats this time.
Ino sneered as she imagined the new girl’s pretty face disfigured by the makeup smearing and running down her cheeks now. “This is your test of courage, new girl! If you can’t get through this little game then what makes you think you’re even worthy of being my friend? Worthy of being Sasuke’s girlfriend?”
The pounding on the door stopped.
“You don’t want to do this,” Rin sniffed.
“Or what?” Ino snorted. “You gonna bat your lashes at Sasuke and beg him to save you in exchange for a BJ?”
Sasuke coughed awkwardly in the background.
“Or else…” Rin’s sniffles subsided as she began to giggle, sweet and maniacally as if someone had flipped a switch. “Or else I’m going to castrate that bastard and shove his dick so far down your throat that it tears up your insides and you both bleed and choke to death. But first I’m going to rip the nails off your fingers—one by one—and shove them into your eyeballs. Then I’m going to kill everyone else!” she finished with a merry little giggle that seemed to bounce down the hall.
“What did she say?” Naruto whispered uncomfortably close to her ear.
Ino elbowed him in the ribs to give her some space.
What the fuck sick kind of trick is she playing at, Ino scowled at the door as she found the girl’s strange shift in persona as equally disturbing as her threat.
Just as she was in the middle of coming up with a retort, something warm dripped onto her shoulder.
“Naruto, stop drooling on me and back the fuck up!” she shoved her elbow back—harder to push him away—but was met with empty air.
The hell?
“You wanna play a real game?” Rin asked from behind the door while Ino turned around to berate Hinata’s idiot of a boyfriend.
Instead of Naruto, however, Ino found herself facing Hinata. The spoiled Hyūga was on her ass on the floor at the feet of the rest of the group which Ino noticed had scooted a few feet back, huddling together. Hinata’s legs shook as she remained sprawled on the floor with a pool of piss spreading between her legs.
“Hinata, what the fuck?”
But Hinata didn’t look at her and neither did the others. They were all looking above Ino’s head, mouths agape and silent with horror.
“Let’s play hide and seek,” Rin giggled behind Ino.
With the light from her phone, Ino followed her friends’ gazes to the lion’s tail of Naruto’s costume. It dangled above her face, swinging limply like the rest of his body. His head remained out of sight, absorbed into the miasma of darkness that clouded over them.
“You run and I seek!”
CRUNCH!
That same wet warmth from earlier returned as blood rained all over Ino’s face in fat drops. Followed by Naruto’s body… but without a head.
His corpse crashed to the floor between Ino and Hinata, twitching and jerking. Tenten screamed.
“Now run.”

A/N: So sorry for the delay! I know it's now November but here is the promised Halloween horror story, 2 Truths & 1 Lie! I wrote a slightly larger story than planned, so I've split it into 3 chapters/parts.
This is Part 1, which I'll post to AO3 later. Part 2 will be posted on my Tumblr after.

Internet's down at work AGAIN so I'm making the best possible use of my time by posting this first sentence ask game! Many thanks to the lovely @athelise for the tag--go check out her work!
Also, girl, I am an shamelessly including WIPs and am humbling requesting you do one with your WIPs, I wanna see! 👀
Here we go, limited to Nardo fandom and in reverse chronological order:
"How do I keep letting you talk me into these things, Ino?" Sakura moaned, struggling to wriggle into an almost too-tight little black dress. (Untitled, MadaSaku longfic WIP, unposted)
The minute hand of the clock on the wall seemed to melt, bleeding into the space where the number six should have been. (Next of Kin, ItaSaku longfic)
"Ino, stop pulling," Sakura groaned, wrenching her wrist from the other girl's grip. (Like Pears in Summer, ItaSaku one shot)
"This is unnatural," Sakura announced with all the certainty of a doctor proclaiming a diagnosis—and none of the professional detachment. (Maniac, KakaSaku one shot)
The cemetery is strikingly beautiful. (Liminality, ItaSaku one shot + unpublished WIP sequel)
The first time Kakashi ever saw Sakura naked she was covered in blood. (Under the Sun, KakaSaku one shot)
"A toast to the Hokage!" (Spaces Between Stars, ItaSaku & KakaSaku longfic, unfinished)
Tick, tock. Tick, tock. (Clockwork, KakaSaku one shot)
"So? Any plans to celebrate the anniversary of Sasuke's triumphant return to the village?" Ino asked, snatching the last dumpling from the plate before Sakura's chopsticks had a chance. (Even a Blind Pig, KakSaku one shot)
It started with a cigarette, and he watched her childhood evaporate like smoke. (Slow Burn, AsuIno one shot)
Read 'em here
Evidently, I enjoy clock-related symbolism and Ino being pushy. This probably sums up everything you need to know about me up as a person ^^;
Tagging @nightowl27-writer @fm-white @tsume-inuzuka @lilyoftheshadow @nagia-pronounced-neijia and anyone else who wants to play! Any fandom, any pairing, original work, whatever, hit me with it :D

Fic authors self rec! When you get this, reply with your favorite five fics that you've written, then pass on to at least five other writers. spread the self-love ❤
Thank you for the ask! TBH I both hoped and dreaded this one coming my way. I don't usually like looking back but, in the end, this was actually more positive than painful.
1. The roles we play
(KakaSaku, 45.6K) Do you remember what you thought an ideal love would be like in your teens VS. what your ideal love (after love) would be like as an adult? Anyway, this was the fic that brought me back to writing. Fun fact: I was not a KakaSaku fan starting this. I just made myself one by the end.
2. Regret is the secret you keep
(Kirigan/Alina, 1.9K) - That one-shot that comes once in a sleepless blue moon, in a fandom you've never written for, and likely never will again (unless Ben Barnes makes a comeback). I still love it because it was so inspired, so effortless to write, so perfectly compact and complete when it was released less than 24 hours later. I have yet to recapture this kind of writing magic.
3. Mantis, Shadow, Wolf
(ItaSaku, KakaSaku, 49K) - At some point, we all crave something darkly beautiful. This was my point. I explored AU-building and a more visually symbolic writing style. It's intimate-- a Sakura character-study and journey about healing that's actually quite personal. And I'll always be proud of the amount of "raw" and "haunting" comments this receives.
4. Pretty hate machine
(Felix/Byleth -> Byleth/Dimitri -> Felix/Byleth/Dimitri, 13.9K) - A Felix character study which led me to conclude that the one true happy ending for him is a love triangle that stays a love triangle. Because something something triangles are the sturdiest shape. I admit the implied M/F + M/F + M/M = M/F/M doesn't sit well with everyone and every character interpretation, but I'm so SO happy with the friends I did gain through this fic.
5. You missed the ending (love)
(KakaSaku, 15.3K) - I honestly thought I wrote all I could write for KakaSaku before this. But as it turned out, I just got tired of angst. There was a very conscious effort to make this one feel-good and funny, with splashes of humor, generous sprinkles of romance, and an indulgently smutty finish. Essentially, a rom-com with an unquestionably happy ending. I was pretty pleased with the result (except for the going over my self-imposed word limit by +10K 🙈).

Dancing With a Ghost
My last entry for KakaSaku Dead Dove Week 2024 (prompt: "Lobotomy"). The dove is extremely dead. This one goes out to my fellow angst and horror fanatics...
Pairing: Kakashi/Sakura
Rating: E
Summary:
There was nothing else they could do. The talk therapy had failed. So had both rounds of electroshock. (The lightning Kakashi wielded all these years—had it made him immune? Even as Sakura watched his toes and fingers rattle against the table?) But a doctor in Kirigakure, Shizune explained, had recently invented a procedure that settled the overactive zones in the frontal lobes of the brain. Maybe, just maybe, he could be happy again.

kakasaku brainrot
New Kakashi x Sakura fic idea absolutely rotting my brain. Got a little down. Will it be a long one-shot? Multi chapter? A few k or massive? No idea.
Plot that won't let me go: while Sasuke and Naruto battle Kaguya, Kakashi and Sakura somehow get chucked 25 years on the past just before Sakumo killed himself. They don't know if it's some warped version of the Infinite Tsukuyomi or real time travel. As they can't do anything either way, their only option is forward. What will happen? Will they change things or live in the woods?
Is it time travel again? Yes. Is that all I'm capable of? Idk honestly maybe. I'm a little obsessed, I think. This is like my 5th time travel. 😩 The ending will for sure be open ended I think. Is it time travel? Was it all a dream? The world may never know.

About Me!
In full Quotev spirit, here’s a little bio abt me and my blog. I’m a writer on AO3 under the same username, filamentlights. My fandoms are Star Wars (mostly clone wars era), Naruto (mostly related to Sakura), Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter, so feel free to talk to me abt these things!
Below is a master list of my fits on AO3!
NARUTO
3AM Lucidity (ongoing) - my 6 chapter KakaSaku magical realism happy ending fic featuring sky whales and one Shiranui Genma who is constantly fearing for his job security.
The K-Pop Idol and the Bodyguard (one-shot) - my modern k-pop KakaSaku AU that I may or may not add onto if I get the right inspiration.
Drawings (one-shot) - my shitty KisaSaku modern AU that, while fluffy, has logic that'll fall to bits if you look too closely at it.
HARRY POTTER
The Cold Arms of Fear, They Cradle Me (one-shot) - basically me putting Tom in the most traumatic situation I could think of in order to fix him (read: throwing him into the middle of European front WWII).

Hey! It’s me again 😂
I was wondering if you could recommend some good ff ?
Hmmmm, some good fanfic!
I do love those. I'm assuming in the Naruto verse? I'll throw in some Reylo as well and a lil bit of Darklina since the stuff I tend to read falls pretty much in line with what I currently write, and so you might like it.
Now, not all of these will be complete, but I personally don't let that stop me.
For Naruto verse, I'd recommend:
Words that Tie, Ties that Bind by binx, a Gaasaku soulmate AU to crown soulmate AUs: https://archiveofourown.org/works/32162464/chapters/79690114
Broken by Mustsleep, an excellent characterization of both Madara and Sakura: https://archiveofourown.org/works/39953697/chapters/100049814
Burning Daylight, a positively sumptuous Sasosaku: https://archiveofourown.org/works/40998750/chapters/102748863
Really anything by fallen__alien, but particularly Cherry, a positively delicious Kakasaku BDSM with some teacher/student: https://archiveofourown.org/works/22309717/chapters/53287255
And her series, Feral Love, which are all separate but connected one-shots, here is the first one: https://archiveofourown.org/works/39906396
I don't need to say this but there are plenty more where what came from, but this is the jist of some of my favorite works in the Naruto Verse
As for beyond Naruto, here we go.
RELYO:
The darkfic upon which I cut my teeth: the hauntingly horrifying Little Animals by amybeegood: https://archiveofourown.org/works/19902718/chapters/47141557
Anything at all by MalevolentReverie, she's a fookin' GENIUS, but I'm currently obsessed with Moon-Shaped Pool and Oh, My My: https://archiveofourown.org/users/MalevolentReverie/pseuds/MalevolentReverie
DARKLINA:
Malfeasance by Vuas, an icon among us lowly peasants: https://archiveofourown.org/works/31435907/chapters/78263738#workskin
AND SO MANY MORE!!! I would rec them but my brain is completely fried from combing through some of the great works I love

AO3 Collections (& why I rejected my fics being part of them for a very long time)
Following a conversation I had with someone recently, who asked why I didn't like my fics being part of AO3 collections:
In the not-so-very-distant past, there was a kind of glitch on AO3 where, if your fic was part of someone's collection and that someone made their collection private, my understanding was that the fic *may* disappear from search engines and/or may not be able to be seen by other readers anymore.
On top of that, there used to be a major problem with assholes who would literally decide it was THEIR LIFE'S WORK to personally enforce any and all enfractions against AO3 and FF.net's TOS, and one of the ways they would function would be to gather the offending fics into their own collections and then everyone in their little witch-hunting asshole group would bombard the authors of those fics with hate, doxxing, and harrassment.
This is why I: 1) Removed some fics from public fanfic-hosting sites; 2) Created a Ban List that collected these hateful people's names/userIDs across platforms and posted it publicly; and 3) Denied any request to put my fics in collections. With some of the changes AO3 has made, I now allow my fics to be added to collections (though I do vet the collections usually before agreeing). I do not, however, post some of my fics to AO3 (for various reasons—the biggest ones being to avoid hate-bombers and plagiarism). If you're looking for "Orbit" and/or "Immured", and don't have access to the DFC, those two fics are posted to the UchiSaku Discord group.
As for the plagiarism issues, one thing I've done is change certain things in my fics when I post them to different sites. It's how I was able to track down, last year, that the majority of my fics had been stolen from FF.net, but that there were leaks from AO3, too, unfortunately. The plagiarism, and recently AI-fic-scraping, are why the majority of my fics are now visible only to logged-in users. It's also why I more or less stopped writing KakaSaku fics, because those were the ones most frequently plagiarised. I don't really write KakaSaku anymore (or don't share it publicly, I should say) because it has become more hassle (in resolving plagiarism issues) than it was worth (in dwindling feedback and appreciation).
I did not survive cancer, being shot, being stabbed, being tortured, being targetted by multiple stalkers IRL, multiple brain injuries, multiple organ failures, multiple heart stoppages and multiple organ removals, just to deal with fucking fanfic plagiarism issues and shitty tech glitches.
This is why I am reactionary and protective of my fanfic writing and my fandom experience. And this is why I only recently allowed my fics to be saved to collections on AO3 again.
If I rejected your collection request in the past, please send it again and I will take another look at it now that the glitch is (from my understanding?) mostly fixed.
Thank you for your time.
