Ah! I forgot about the Gaken manga! It popped up on my Pinterest feed one or two times but now I actually went and read the one with Kaigaku after I saw this request! I guess it’s essentially Kimetsu Academy, but it’s got more of it fleshed out! I had a chunk of a one shot of Kaigaku convincing his S/O to cut class with him, so I’m glad I have a motive to finish it!

You sighed, you knew you couldn’t keep arguing with him. After all, he’d keep asking class after class. “Fine, but you better not get us caught.” Kaigaku’s usually devilish look appeared on his face.

After you and Kaigaku managed to sneak out of the school, the two of you took alleys and back streets to avoid getting caught. The thought of consequences at school made you stop, causing Kaigaku to stop as well. “(Y/N), what’s up?” He asked, turning to look at you.

During your time at the arcade the two of you played all the games until it came down to just one left: Air Hockey. All the other games you had played so far had been single player or co-op, but now the two of you would be facing off, and both of you were determined to win.

“Don’t think I’m going to go easy on you,” He said as he put the tokens into the air hockey table. The table turned on and the puck came out on your end. You rolled your eyes as you started the game. Both of you were aggressive and one of Kaigaku’s hits even caused the puck to fly off the table once, but thankfully none of the staff noticed.

It became pretty clear that both of you were equal in skill, and it soon came down to 4-4 score, meaning that only one more goal was needed for this game to be over. We already know that Kokushibo is dedicated to being Muzan's "bodyguard", and probably thanks to this no one entertains the idea that this man has children or a family in general.

but no, he does have them.

He and his wife (Haruhime seems to be a popular name for Michikatsu's wife so I will use it here) taking into account their work they do everything possible to keep their children's lives anonymous, whether teaching them at home or in high-level private institutions. They will not settle for less for their children.

and I can imagine His oldest child (reader) being especially gifted in those types of areas, the type of child who has the best grades as a child, and has a higher than average IQ level. which makes his parents very proud. that's for(due to recommendations) they decide to put him in various activities to "stimulate" him and have many possibilities in the future.

This causes son to unintentionally become an Overarchiver, that is, he goes to MANY activities at the same time, some he likes, others not so much, but he doesn't dare to tell his parents (especially his father) for fear of disappointing them. .

I imagine that being an Overarchiver, Kokushibo's son receives many MANY comparisons from both teachers and parents of other students, so he is not very popular so to speak...

You can see Kokushibo even forcing Kaigaku to give him certain reports about his son😅 and ironically they both end up becoming friends (Kokushibo doesn't know whether to be happy or worried, on the one hand his son finally has a friend, but it turns out to be the worst influence possible) .

the meetings at the Tsugikuni house when Kaigaku and Kokushibo are there at the same time must be VERY awkward.

some extra information about this:

*I think Kokushibo's other daughter (the youngest, I'll call her Mitsuki) is also an overarchiver, but more inclined to art, things like theater, ballet, choir, etc.

*I can't decide if Haruhime and Kokushibo would be separated. But let's say yes because I enjoy an intimidating woman who is soft on her family(same with Koku).

*Kokushibo's eldest son takes martial arts, debate classes, history, mathematics and probably knows how to play at least one instrument.

*as I said, Koku doesn't usually talk about his kids to many people, but his desk probably has several hidden photos of his kids (as children or at certain important events, he's that kind of dad).

*Koku is the overprotective father, Haruhime is the loving but strict mother.

*Muzan has probably tried to infiltrate his son or Mitsuki into Kimetsu Academy, but Haruhime (and lowkey Koku) WILL DIE before their children set foot in a public school.

*(what none of them know is that Kaigaku already put his son in school several times, just because).

*Haruhime definitely doesn't like Kaigaku, Mitsuki tolerates him. Kaigaku is afraid of Haruhime.

Overall, just a weird family with communication problems, but who love each other.

You've been plagued for a year by the nightmares. 

Various nightmares actually. There was no specific patterns to them or a running theme. They were just nightmares. It started last year mid summer. It was a regular day, nothing out of place, until you got to bed and decided to sleep. 

That's when you had the first nightmare of you going swimming and getting attacked by a shark. You screamed so loudly that your neighbors has broken down your doors and shaken your screaming form awake to see what was wrong. You were ok. No water or shark in sight, but you didn't get much sleep that night. 

The sane thing repeated the next night. This time you were tumbling through the sky. And then the next night. A bear chased you through the woods. And the next. A giant sinkhole swallowed your house whole. And then the next night-

You got the picture. 

However that wasn't the most terrifying thing about it. 

It was the terrifying monstrous thing that you saw every time before the moment you woke up. 

It was a tiger...at least that's what you thought at first. Dreamland You was too busy trying to climb trees to get away from bandits chasing you demanding money or diving into a pond to escape a swarm of hornets buzzing after you. But since the first nightmare you've always saw a glimpse of orange and black in the background. You always brushed it off though. If was a couple of weird nightmares. And dreams never made sense. So a tiger suddenly showing up on a cloud as you screamed for help falling through the sky, or sitting on a rock as you clung onto the cliff side for dear life meant nothing. 

Not until you had a good look at the thing's face.

It was the nightmare that you were being chased by a bear. You were just walking along a field when you suddenly looked behind you, and froze as the looming shadow of a large grizzly bear rose up above you. The thing was covered in blood staining it's brown fur a rust color, as it's long fangs drooled with rabies. Claws flexed out as it growled before roaring at you. 

"AAAAAHHHH!!!"

Your scream echoed throughout the dreamscape as you snapped around and RAN as fast as you could. Adrenaline making your heart pumping when you inevitably heard the loud thuds of the bear dropping onto all fours and then charging after you. You didn't dare look back too terrified of the beast behind you. You knew this was a nightmare and the thing behind you wasn't real- But you weren't going to just wake yourself up by letting it EAT you! So you ran. You just had to make it until you eventually woke up like always. You'd climb up a tree or hide in the water again-

A screech left your lungs as your foot tripped over a rock and down you went. Painfully slamming your face into the ground before you continued to roll down the hill head over heels, until you painfully crashed into a rocky patch of ground at the bottom face to the sky. With a pained groan you opened your eyes.

And ice froze your veins as the bear stood right above you roaring out it's call and raising a paw in the air. You screamed out and slammed your eyes shut. Arms raising to shield your face waiting for the painful wake up call....

But it never came. 

There wasn't any noise.

Not a sound in sight.

You thought that perhaps you had woken up now in your bed safely in the quiet night of your own home. 

However when you opened your eyes and stared at the blue sky, you knew you were still dreaming. But...there was no bear. Confused, your brows furrowed before you slowly sat up hissing in soreness from your rough tumble. Your head looked around the fields and hills. There was no bear in sight. Not even a footprint left behind. 

However you were not alone.

Because your body frozen once again when you again saw the recurring figure of a tiger. 

However this tiger was something drawn up from a nightmare.

Blue eyes stared right through your soul as the ferocious wild animal stared you down. But it's body was twisted strangely. While it's body was mostly normal for a tiger it's face was completely black, like it wore a mask of some kind. It's fangs were unusual too. They stuck out like the teeth of an oni mask and it's stripes were like ribbons. Attached to his body but stringing off him unlike a normal tiger. You both continued to stare at each other. You in fear and it in annoyance.

It just sat down casually staring at you, before it snorted and opened his mouth."Wake up, Woman."

You awake with a gasp and sat up quickly in your room again. Looking around the place but not finding a single animal or person there. Panting and gasping for breath as you clutched the blanket to yourself.

"W-What the hell?"

You for the life of you couldn't figure out why you were having such horrid nightmares. You haven't done anything bad to warrant the gods to punish you and you didn't think you upset anything supernatural....And you hadn't been reading any scary stories so you couldn't just blame this on your subconscious brain. 

The nightmares continued to persist until you were so sleep deprived and sobbing from the exhaustion you were feeling. Finally a friend suggested you visit the local shrine and get looked over by the priest. Without anything else to do, you agreed and made the long journey to visit the medicine man. He was rather kind and polite, inviting you inside and giving you a cup of tea as you broke down in sobs and explained everything to him. He said nothing but listen politely while nodding. When you finished babbling he took a moment humming and rubbing his chin in thought before closing his eyes and nodding.

"It's clear now." He held up a hand pointing at you. "You're being plagued by dream eaters."

You looked at him confused sniffing and wiping the tears from your heavy eye bags. "D-Dream eaters? What's that?"

"Spirits whom visit their victims in the middle of the night and cause nightmares. They're like parasites that feed off the fear their nightmares cause," he explained, "But not to worry. They're usually not very powerful and I know exactly how to get rid of them."

He instructed you through a small ritual to cleanse yourself before accompanying you back to your home where he cleansed the place of negative energy and then gave you some sage incense with very specific instructions.

You couldn't thank him enough and ended up sobbing into the hug you gave him. That night you followed his instructions to a T and managed to sleep deeply for the first time in weeks. You barely got up the next day allowing yourself to sleep in and find peace once more. Your sleep slowly returned to normal and your old self returned to you. Alive and rejuvenated with a happy skip to your step. 

Until you ran out of sage incense to burn.

At first you were a little worried about the nightmares coming back..but after two weeks of nearly nothing happening with you still getting sleep, you didn't worry about anything anymore. It was like the priest said, they finally left to move on to someone else. So you suspected nothing when you went back to sleep that night.

And then you found yourself in a forest.

It wasn't bad like the other experiences you had though. It was actually rather nice. It was warm and sunny with a nice breeze going rustling through the leaves and blowing your hair around. Despite there being no birds, their pretty chirping hung in the air as you smiled and walked along the grass. It was absolutely beautiful and peaceful. With a deep inhale of sweet flowers and clean air you allowed yourself to smile and enjoy the warm sunlight.

"You have a lot of nerve blocking me out after everything I did for you."

You jumped with a gasp and spun around on your heels. And then you paused as you came face to face with another person.

It was a man around your age, maybe a year or two older. He was dressed in black from head to toe with the exception of the blue obi belt tied around his waist, and the three magatama charms. One wrapped his throat as a necklace while the other two dangled from his right wrist. Blueish Black eyes stared at you annoyed from where he sat cross legged on a rock, head in one hand and the wind slightly swaying his messy black hair.

However what was most peculiar was the strange stripe like tattoos on his cheeks. You both continued to stare at one another before his face scrunched up more annoyed.

"Tch. Are you really not going to say anything to me?"

 You flinched eyes widening more at the fangs in his mouth but being more confused than scared. "Oh. Uh-....H-Hello?" You weren't sure what to say to a figment of your imagination in a dream. "Sorry I didn't see you there." The man scoffed again rolling his eyes. "I didn't know anyone else was out here honest." You might as well be polite even if he wasn't real.

"Of course I'm real! I'm right here in front of you aren't I? You seriously think that I'm just a mere piece of your puny imagination?"

You flinched back eyes widened at him. How did he-..? No. Of course he's a part of your mind so YOU would know what YOU were feeling-

"Wow. Seriously that naive huh? Just because I'm in your dreams and hear your thoughts, that doesn't mean I'm a puny little imaginary friend. It's insulting you'd assume that."

"Well WHO are you if you're not just a part of my dream?"

With yet another eye roll and sigh, the man pushed himself off the rock and stood up to his full height which was just a foot taller than you. Placing his hands behind his head he walked up to your confused form and looked you over.

"You seriously don't know who I am?"

You frowned. Taking a moment to look him up and down carefully and wracking your brain for anyone who might ring a bell..before you shook your head in defeat.

"I'll give you a big hint. What's big and has stripes in all your dreams?"

Stripes? Your dreams? What could-...

It was then realization slapped you across the face. "Tiger...You mean you're the-.." You trailed off gesturing to him again.

"Took ya long enough to recognize me! Talk about ungrateful after everything I did to help you out. Then you went and did that stupid ritual to block me out! How ungrateful are you?!"

"I-...Wait! If you were blocked out because of the ritual then you're one of the spirits visiting me in my nightmares!" You rose a brow suspiciously. "...Why?"

"You seriously haven't figured it out by now?" You stared blankly at him making him scoff again. "You summoned me. You prayed for someone to come help you out of those nightmares and I went through the trouble of running off that Enmu creep every time he showed up!"

You blinked surprised. "Wait. So it was you waking me up all those times?"

"Finally you're catching on." His hands went to be placed on his hips. "That creep loves feeding off people's worst nightmares." He smirked. "So do I. Don't get me wrong, your fear certainly helped feed me for a while but it was annoying to watch him become infatuated by you. It was time he left my territory."

He did leave didn't he whoever it was causing your nightmares. But- "But you didn't." You pointed out to him. "Why? My nightmares are over. While I'm grateful to you, I don't think I can pay you back unfortunately."

He smirked now and leaned over making you lean back."Enmu liked what he saw....But he's not the only one." Wait what- "I like what I see, Princess. And I know exactly how you can make it up to me for all the rescuing I've done."

You stared wide eyed and jaw dropped at him to which he snickered before reaching out a hand to his wrist. You could only watch as he pulled at the strings until one of the magatamas fell off before he grabbed your hand. In a quick motion, the strings were wrapped around your own wrist and tugged into a knot. Making you blink and hold up your arm watching the beautiful shiny stone sway from your hand.

"We'll talk more about this tomorrow night. But from now on, you're my woman.~ Don't worry about the details. You'll see soon enough."

You woke up with a gasp.

Eyes staring at your dark ceiling before you quickly sat up. A quick look around told you, you were alone. Oh...It was just a dream after all. A really weird one. You sighed and went to wipe your forehead when you froze as something caught the moonlight floating into your window. And your eyes widened at the thing dangling from your wrist.

Kaigaku has no clue on how or what crocheting is until he sees you on the couch, making a scarf. He's immediately intrigued and wants to watch you work, so he's just kinda,, staring at you— unbeknownst to you.

He's not going to admit it, but he was amazed at how your fingers worked around the yarn and the hook and how you did it so fastly and easily— he wants to learn it. Just so he could prove to you that he's better at 'yarn looping' (thats what he called it because he didn't know what it was) and because he secretly wants to crochet with you.

Kaigaku asks you to teach him— just kidding he never asked because it kind of went like this:

"the fuck is that?"

"crochet :D"

"ok cool"

then he waits for you to say something like 'wanna try it?' so you can teach him without him asking.

But you never spoke again. So, the only solution he had was either continue staring at you until you say it or give up and watch a youtube tutorial on it. Peach boy would rather watch a tutorial on youtube than ask you to teach him smh.

Anyways, he steals one of your hooks and yarn when you weren't looking then proceeded to work in his room.

Kaigaku immediately got frustrated when he couldn't get the hook the yarn on the...the hook..yeah

Got pretty impatient and almost gives up...until you went to check on him...and then you see him with your yarn and hook.

Long story short, you ended up teaching him. He still couldn't get the hang of it after you demonstrated it, so you, the mischievous, flirty bitch you are (/j), end up doing the cliche hand touching thing where you guide his fingers through the hook and the yarn.

needless to say, he was very flustered the entire time and he almost lost concentration as he watches your fingers making contact with his. His face is just a mixture of ">:/" and but also ".///."

Whenever you would run out of yarn, Kaigaku would always be willing to help you...by carrying the basket full of yarn you would buy because, again, he doesn't know that much about crocheting.

You may have to educate him about yarns and hooks too. He's quite frustrated at how much he had to learn, but in the end, he realizes that it's actually really simple...he's just overthinking.

Should you make him a handmade crocheted scarf, he would love it to death. In fact, he would probably wear it everywhere he goes. And he genuinely gets upset if something bad were to happen to it.

Oh and if you made him a crocheted peach,, oh boy- he would absolutely melt. Does the heart clench thing internally as soon as you give it to him. He's trying his best not to express his extreme happiness towards you. Well...tries to. He ends up twitching.

He definitely cuddles it every night whenever you're not around. In return, he tries his best to reciprocate your actions by trying his best to crochet you back something he knows you'd love. Again, 'tries' to. He's still a beginner afterall,,

» I would say that Giyuu's surprisingly used to hyperactive people. (Have you seen Rengoku or Tanjiro or Inosuke? Giyuu knows all three of them.) So it wouldn't really be a big thing for him to be around you.

» Of course, even though he's used to hyperactive people, he's still a bit awkward when he's around you. It's not because he doesn't like how energetic you are, but it's because he just doesn't know what to say or do, especially if you happen to have a day where your thoughts jump all over the place.

» Luckily for you, though, Giyuu's going to make his affection clear by writing letters to you and by being close to you! One of his favorite things to do is to actually listen to you because it can help him forget the worries he might own at that moment.

Enmu

» First reaction that you're going to get out of Enmu when he finds out how hyperactive you are is amusement! He's not fully sure of how people work, so seeing how you act and talk makes him feel a bit entertained.

» However, I would say that while he's much more vocal about his liking towards your energetic personality than what Giyuu is, he gets overwhelmed by it after a while.

» That's why it becomes pretty normal for him to make you fall asleep if you happen to be more hyperactive than usually. He still loves you, though, so he won't give you nightmares!

Kaigaku

» Kaigaku's the most annoyed out of these three. I'd say that he actually tries to avoid you in the beginning when he finds out how hyperactive you are, but his luck isn't really on his side when it comes to you.

» He learns to listen to you after some trial and error, but he still has his days when he ends up snapping at you if you talk too much in his opinion.

» Depending on your reaction, he's going to apologize later on, especially if he sees you mopping around in sadness. I would still say that it's safer to be with Giyuu and Enmu if you happen to be really hyperactive!

Not even a moment passed before kaigaku was leaning forward and resting his chin on the top of your head. You pondered for a minute in silence while looking at the screen and watching the red-head move quickly across his surroundings.

“Maybe…If he didn’t try to kill you.” You said softly, kaigaku chuckled and gently pulled you closer in to his chest.

“I’d like to see him try.” He combated cockily, a wide smirk plastered across his pale face. You giggled softly in response which consequently had kaigaku moving his head from your chin and to your right shoulder.

“What’s so funny? You think I couldn’t take him on?!” Kaigaku questioned, his eyes darting back and forth from the tv then back at the side of your face. You tilted your head slightly to the left then you rested your hands on top of his.

“Honey. Chuuya can literally manipulate gravity. And even if he couldn’t he’s an amazing fighter, he didn’t even use his ability while fighting dazai and he still gave dazai a run for his money…Kinda.” You explained, causing your boyfriend to groan and lean his body into yours more, to the point where he was almost causing you to fold in half.

“That’s so mean. I could totally take him in a fight. I’m probably way stronger then him.” Kaigaku persisted, you simply rolled your eyes at his bold statement.

I haven't posted anything in a long while so take some head cannons for Genya and Kaigaku for a bit.

I'm so sorry that's it's been so long. There's no real theme for these head cannons, just some random things I think about the boys from time to time.

Kaigaku doesn't ever seem to take his necklace off, even in the bath. It's a bit weird, but he always redirects the topic when you ask...

He's super hesitant at letting you hold his sword. Best course of action is to make a comment about it 'not being good' so that he feels offended and does let you hold the sword to prove you wrong.

When he gets 'flustered' it's more of a silent fluster, where he won't say anything and struggles to make eye contact with you.

Also, the silent treatment works incredibly well on him (yes, even on Upper Moon 6 Kaigaku).

If you say it looks like he tried cutting his bangs himself and that they're too short, prepare for the silent treatment yourself.

Prefers you lay on top of him while the two of you cuddle.

If you ask to shoot his gun he's going to say now, but maybe if you pester him enough he'll let you hold it while it's UNLOADED.

He likes telling you stories about his siblings and stories about he and Sanemi as kids.

Has considered not having the mohawk style haircut before, but when he started letting the rest of his hair grow out he decided against it.

Leaving lipstick stains on Genya is actually pretty hard to do

It’s not that Genya doesn’t like kissing you, trust me

He actually likes you giving him little kisses all over his face as well

Sometimes it feels a bit too much though, or maybe he’s just learned what your trying to do from past experience, and he’ll pull his face away a bit

Genya has a habit of smoothing back his mohawk throughout the day, so sometimes he’ll see the lipstick smudge from a mark on his forehead when he does that

The only other ways he’d know is looking in a mirror, the reflection on his sword or the worst… Other core members mention it!

Human Kaigaku

I personally believe that Kaigaku is touch-starved, but refuses to acknowledge and/or admit it

The two of you were taking time to relax together during a short break he was given from the core

You two were out in the orchard by Master Jigoro’s estate

You were sitting on his lap as he leaned against a tree in the shade

The two of you don’t normally share a lot of words when cuddling, the two of you usually just enjoy each other's presence

At some point though, you sat back and placed you hands on his shoulders, which did catch him off guard

He almost naked you what you were doing but the look in your eyes told him pretty quick 

His hands settled on your waist as you leaned into kiss him

He even actually leaned in as well, which was a pleasant surprise 

You surprised him as well, as you were more aggressive with the kiss than he thought you’d be

But he wasn’t going to complain, he just pulled you closer to him

Neither of you said anything when you two finally pulled away

Your foreheads rested against each other’s

You returned to laying on top of Kaigaku and snuggling with him after that

But he really was hoping for another kiss…

Demon Kaigaku

I still believe Kaigaku to be a tsudere as a demon, but he covers it up much better with his new confidence

Kaigaku was in fact the one to instigate this kiss.

It’s actually quite common for you to occasionally give Kaigaku a small shove or push as a joke since he’s pretty hard to knock over

However, Kaigaku was feeling… ‘frisky’ might not be the right word but we’ll use it here

After one playful shove to many Kaigaku decided to push back

This sweet baby is shy with you, but he does try his best

He used to be very stiff with things like holding your hand and hugging but he’s gotten better with them through time

While Genya was the one who asked to kiss, he ended up freezing up after you said ‘yes’

Ah yes, Genya.exe has stopped working once again

That’s fine, you were more than happy to help him

He’s still nervous and frozen when you go into kis him

But he actually relaxes once you do kiss him

He was actually worried maybe he was moving too fast, or that maybe you didn’t want to kiss him in general

He finally realizes that you are okay with this, and that kissing you is relaxing in itself

The kiss was brief, maybe just a few seconds, but when it was over Genya relaxed

His face was still rather red though, but he was a smiling

It was so cute you couldn’t help but embrace him

Now that he was feeling more relaxed he was able to give you another kiss

Don’t expect to be making out soon, he’s still getting used to just a normal kiss

He’d still be shy about kissing you in the future, but he’s not going to be freezing up anymore.

Kaigaku X Reader (Academy AU) Head Cannons: Tutoring Kaigaku

I haven't been writing anything lately, and I need to do more of that. I've thrown some Kaigaku!Academy head cannons for you all.

Kaigaku and reader are already in a relationship here.

Kaigaku is technically an honor student, but he really doesn't work that hard for it.

Since he's buddy-buddy with School Secretary Kokushibo he doesn't get in much trouble for bullying other students into getting his work done for him.

Best way to describe him as a student in class would be, "He's smart, but he needs to apply himself more."

Out of all his classes, I feel like History would be the one he slacks off in most (even with Rengoku teaching).

He just doesn't feel as interested in it as science, and there's no physical threat like there is in math class (no one messes with Shinazugawa).

At some point he managed to convince you to 'tutor him'.

You knew it was pointless, but agreed to try to help him anyways.

After all, you both wanted to be on honor roll together.

He constantly tries to derail the topic, or completely spaces out on occasion.

You'll have to take his phone away from him, and sometimes even his pencil just to get him to focus since he won't stop doodling.

Sometimes if you're doing your own work, he'll occasionally tap you with the eraser end of his pencil to try and get your attention.

He's a pain, really.
