🐍anon here with a request
I’m recovering from surgery RN, so I was wondering about your Kaidan and Lucien head-cannons for when you are hurt ❤️🩹
I’m like, obsessed with your writing and love ur brain, you post🔝notch stuff 💜✨✨
` 𖤓 . . . LUCIEN + KAIDAN.
Hey, thank you very much. Such sweet compliments. :] I really hope you are recovering well, angel. <3
Ps. SO SORRY FOR THE LATE REPLY!! I HOPE YOU ARE DOING WELL. (PLS TELL ME HOW YOU ARE, either message me or just send it in the inbox. Whatever makes you comfortable xx)
#LUCIEN
Lucien is naturally a bit of a worrier, if he notices you are ill or in pain he makes it his priority to make you comfortable and rested.
He's pretty adamant about it too. Its funny to see because he suddenly turns strict but in such a sweet and caring way. (He's so cute)
Will make sure you're tucked in bed, bringing food, constantly checking your temperature.
He does lowkey take advantage of it if you're the type that's independent and doesn't need anyone. He loves that its him looking after you for once.
Gives you warm cuddles, kissing your forehead and cheeks gently as he hums you off to sleep after a restless night.
This man reads to you, tells you his own stories and adventures before he met you and it always sends you off to sleep. He does joke afterwards that his life is so boring you fell asleep, to attempt to cheer you up.
If you're in pain he uses his healing hands on you, specifically learnt it if you ever were to get hurt, probably learnt it after a scare and now it's a good thing he learnt so he can always keep you safe.
#KAIDAN
As tough as this man is. He crumbles when you aren't okay. Especially physically. He can give you pep talks. He can motivate you. He can even understand and help you through hard and challenging times but when he sees you in pain and ill he simply evaporates into nothing but worry.
Constantly asking if you're okay. Checking your temp. Looking at you from across the room all serious.
(For some reason I'm imagining him stressed out like from the TikToks of all the dads to the home depot theme song in different areas of the house thinking)
He does his best cooking for you. Even makes you your favourite meal and dessert to make you smile. He'll help you wash and insists on pretty much carrying you everywhere.
You could sneeze and this man is acting like you're about to slip into a coma... he's an undercover dramatic.
Holds you extra close at night. Makes sure to sleep after you and to wake up before you do and tells you to get him up if you wake up in the night.
He's so gentle and sweet too, though. Even though inside hes like a headless chicken, he's calmly helping you do things, gently putting the blankets on you, doing your hair so it's tidy and not bothering you.
He's the type to remember the little details!!

Incorrect Quotes for Kaidan and Teya
Teya: What are you eating?
Kaidan: You wouldn't like it, it's really salty.
Teya: I like you, don't I?
*Kaidan comes home absolutely drunk, undresses, and stands in Teya’s bedroom.*
Teya: Babe, are you.. coming to bed?
Kaidan: No thank you, I’m sure you’re lovely but I have a girlfriend.
Kaidan: *Lies on the ground and falls asleep*
Teya: ...
Teya: Kaidan, do you love me?
Kaidan: Of course I do!
Teya: Would you still love me if I did something bad?
Kaidan: Well, of course I… would…
Teya: I mean something really, really—
Kaidan: Teya, what did you do?
Teya, grinning: I have a knife!
Kaidan: Put it down, Teya.
Teya: Make me! *sprints away*
Kaidan: Did you buy eggs like I asked?
Teya: Even better!
Kaidan: What the fuck did you-
Teya: *holding up a chicken* Her name is Fluffy.
Kaidan: Who hurt you?
Teya: *snorting* What, do you want a list?
Kaidan: ...Yes, actually.
Kaidan, hungover: Please tell me I'm imagining that I claimed I was king of the ducks.
Teya: I would, but then I would be lying to the King of All Ducks.
Kaidan: Is something burning?
Teya: My burning love for you of course!
Kaidan: …
Teya: …

Kaidan x AFAB db WARM oneshot
Kaidan mod belongs to livtempleton on nexus
Will involve spoilers of the kaidan mod
mention of Inigo, Auri, and Lucien who belong
to SMARTBLUECAT, Waribiki, & JosephRussell
I had only just defeated alduin on the throat of the world- but it wasn’t enough. What I need is a plan- and the context of Alduin going to Sovngarde after cowering off in the heap of battle surly made a mess of things.
I needed a drink.
I thank my companions who had followed me through this unfortunate incident- one of them being Kaidan. He and I had known each other longest; with finding him in an abandoned prison, going through an old cave from his childhood, unmasking his past and heritage, and an ex lover.
This ex lover of his was a powerful destruction and conjuration mage, whom had a disturbed body due to her own mutilation for spells. Kaidan, in response, said that when she threatened my life, he lost any sympathy towards her. Thus, he killed her, and I suspected it took a toll on him mentally.
A couple weeks or so after the incident, Kaidan was clearing his mind still. What helped distract him was the fight on the throat of the world. It exhausted all of us, but it helped Kaidan move on from his past. He was still his broody, serious self, but he seemed more…distracted as of late.
We spent an entire day and a half in solitude. Inigo and Lucien had went off to the Bards College- Lucien wanted to look at some books, and Inigo had to tune his lute. Auri had kept a distance from the market and went to the inn for some jagga- she’ll be disappointed. Kaidan followed me to the blacksmith as I needed a tune up on my bow, and it was an awkward silence between us. Kaidan would eye me from to time to time, and I, of course, noticed but kept it to myself. His mood today seemed strange, and I could tell he was anxious about something due to his boots shuffling against the floor from time to time.
“This is a dwarven bow, pulls back perfectly twelve inches, and the quiver can hold up to eighty arrows.” Fihada, the owner of the flecher, spoke. He showed a case with a amber metal crafted bow, carved with dwarven material and a thick string.
“Looks great. How much for it?” I asked, tilting down to the bow with a gleam. Amazing how a weapon from an extinct race was still crafted after all this time.
“Well, I have a couple. Enchanted, sharpened, both or none. Which would you like?”
“Both.”
Fihada pulled out a dwarven bow, pulsing a red glow. “Fire enchantment, can pierce through heavy armor, around 1400 septims.”
I pulled my coin purse, the jingle caused the shop owner to grin.
Kaidan quickly put his hand on my arm, lightly touching to my hand with his other. I looked up, he furrowed his brows.
“Hey, I can get it if you want. I owe you this.” He mumbled, his voice was a crackle, like a fire in a cold home.
“I suppose.” I shrugged, he gave a soft hum and pulled out his own coin purse. In the heat of the moment, back when we faced a troll, Kaidan had his bow disarmed in battle, causing him to grab mine. Mine was not a war bow, it was made for less strong pulls and more quicker tactics- and in the heat of the moment, forgetting it was not his bow’s strength, completely snapped the string.
“Thanks for the business!”
The sky was a golden tropic, shining down on solitude and her lovely stones. Lucien and Inigo had already gotten back to the inn to rest, while Kaidan and I were alone. The silence came back, to us sitting in silence and only merely glancing at each other when the said other was looking away. I didn’t have the courage to speak, I still don’t, not with this gauge of a thick layer called “tension.” We decided to head back to the inn, where the group was rested.
“No Jagga? What type of inn is this?” I heard Auri complain to the keeper of the winking skeever.
“I.. I’m sorry we only sell Nord, Imperial, and Breton drinks here.” Corpulus Vinius sighed, he was rubbing the counter with a wet rag, cleaning up stains.
“Besides alcohol,” Lucien interrupted, “do you have any rooms for five?”
“Five?” Corpulus itched his neck, thinking for a second. “I’m sorry I only can give four for tonight…”
“One of us needs to share a room with each other. Is one of the rooms with two beds at least?” Inigo asked, bringing his tankard to the counter.
“No, but we have a one queen sized bed that can fit two.”
“Oh boy.” Auri tapped her fingers against the wall, very much keeping her hands away from wood.
“Hm.. is any of us alright with sharing a bed with anyone?”
“I erm..” Lucien’s awkward voice chimed, “I rather sleep alone in one room… if that is alright…”
“That’s fine, Lucien.” I nodded, and he was already leaving for the night. Poor chap was exhausted.
“Why don’t you and Kaidan share the room?“ Auri proposed, smiling slyly towards me. I fumbled, twisting my hand behind my back to grip my fist.
Kaidan cleared his throat, “would it be more appropriate if you two shared?”
“Why is it not appropriate for you two to share? You two are close friends, besides one can sleep on the floor if it’s that bad.”
“You just want a room by yourself too.” Inigo glanced to Auri, who giggled.
“Fine,” I sighed, touching my temples with my fingers. “We can work something out.”
“Aye. I’ll stand uh, guard if need be. I don’t need rest.” Kaidan tried to comfort the situation, leading me to run my hand through my bag to pay for the rooms.
“You do, but sharing a bed isn’t the worst since it’s just one night.” I paid for the rooms, and immediately Auri and Inigo went upstairs.
“Have a nice night!” Auri chirped, mostly looking at me and having a mischievous grin.
I faltered my footing slightly.
I would assume it was around eleven in the night, and the group was asleep as I sat at a table upstairs near the bedrooms while I drank. My armor was in the room, in the corner by the bed and I was in more comfortable clothing, a brown shirt with black trousers. I couldn’t sleep due to pondering over what transpired for the past month. Alduin, Sovngarde, Kaidan…
A door quietly creaked open, and I turned in my seat. Kaidan-who was out of his bulky armor and in a soft, low cut rugged shirt with loose pants-was gazing at me through the door.
“Y’alright?” He asked, opening the door fully and leaning against the frame.
“M’fine, just having something to drink before I sleep. What about you? Why aren’t you asleep yet?”
“I can’t sleep.” Kaidan mumbled lightly, his voice was forced but still gentle, a breeze tickled my earlobes.
“Hm?” I got up from my seat quietly, keeping a hand on the table, “What’s wrong, then?”
“I...” The tall man stuttered, pinching his eyes shut as he gulped down what I could tell to be his strained words, “Skyrim is cold, a very chilly province- you would be freezing once the weather hits. It will be freezing soon.. and I’d like to… help you stay warm…”
“What do you mean?” I asked, raising my brow as to egg him on more.
“Haven’t you figured it out?” He looked me in the eyes, standing up straight, his hands fidgeted by running through his messy hair. “Me… stealing glances of you… any moment I’m with you... I can only think of being closer… physically.. mentally..” his breath hitched as he saw how far he was going to his words. My chest was pattering.
“Come to bed with me, you know I’ll still be there in the morning..”
I flushed- he was suggesting.. oh gods. My whole body warmed, my arms crushing to my chest as to feel if my heart was still beating like a hummingbird.
“I-I.. uhm.. yes.. maybe..? Uhm..” I couldn’t speak, this felt embarrassing. I was independent, strong, free willed... but this moment made me feel so bashful. I didn’t know how to understand this.
“Are you blushin,’ dragonborn..?” Kaidan chuckled under his breath as he walked to me, taking my hand into his. His lovely shade of red eyes were codling down into my weakest conscious. “Let’s see how long that’ll last..?”
I obligated, giving a soft nod as we entered his room together, letting the door slowly close and letting a soft click play.
Kaidan kept his hands on mine the entire time, letting them run up my shoulders and to my cheek. His hands were large, as any Akivirian, and Kaidan used them so gently. His fingertips running across my skin, leaving gentle flutter kisses with the feeling of his freshly shaved face on my neck- it’s almost as if he prepared. He smelled so nice, and his hair was washed and still cold. Oh yes, he definitely prepped for this moment.
“You freshened up, didn’t you?” I spoke under my breath, causing Kaidan to leave a hum on my neck.
“It’s a coincidence, I assure you..” he gave a breathy chuckle, letting his hands slowly trail to my torso- he was hesitant, moving his head for his eyes and mine to be in contact as we exchanged consenting glances. He knew what he was doing, I wonder if he at least knew how he makes me so weak...
We haven’t touched our lips yet, though instinctively I felt hot under the collar. Kaidan was only touching to my cheek, staring me down with his gentle eyes. The moment was long and quiet, so far only eye contact was the most intimate moment. My hand gently rose, cupping to Kaidan’s cheek all the same as he did mine, but I tilted him down to me- the man was a towering sweetheart.
Kaidan accepted the tilt, leaning down to put his nose against mine. The hold of our breaths kept us on edge, through the mental contact of souls: our eyes. My entire body flared up as I contracted our lips together- finally. It was slow, and mostly breaths touching each other’s skin as we awkwardly sealed our lips. This kiss was what you would expect for a first time. Of course, Kaidan felt aback- as if it was his first. I knew it wasn’t, and that kind of got me a bit relentless. But his surprise and shock as to the kiss made me wonder if he accepted this more than the ones before.
Our lips touching for the first time felt electrified, for how small the connection was.
“You..” I breathed, once we got our space, “you’re okay with this.?”
The man smiled lightly to me, giving almost a soft chuckle, “Thought maybe I should be asking you that? Yes, I’m fine.”
“How should we..?” I asked, looking to the side as to distract me from staring too deep into his eyes. gods, those eyes..
Kaidan gave my cheek a gentle caress as to calm both of our nerves. “We’ll improvise.” Kaidan gave a soft twitch at his lips, like a smile, to me which was chasing butterflies around my stomach. I sighed and gave him a kiss to the chin.
“That works.”
Kaidan had gotten my lips again for another longing kiss, putting his hands on the bed as to coax me down to it. The tips of his fingers were leaving nerves working on my skin, as his fingertips connected to the nape of my neck, caressing down to my collarbone. The feeling was so gentle, and careful: complete opposite of how I knew Kaidan to be in battle. He was aggressive, rough, a tank in a fight. But now, he was so gentle and loving- it made my heart swell.
His hands rested on my shirt, and gave me his longing eyes to ask for the removal of the damned clothing- which I immediately acted on. I took the cloth off and even went as far as to tease my undergarment strap to fall off my shoulder.
As his cheeks went to match the color of his tattoo, he eyed my face and kept his hands on my shoulders, lightly using his thumbs to circle my skin.
“Can I take the rest off..?” He asked, so gently it was almost a whisper.
I smiled warmly to him and gave a soft nod, “yes.”
He took a gentle inhale as his fingers found the hooks to my undergarment, and lightly undid them. The straps gave into gravity as my garments fell off my body. I tossed them to the side as they were no longer wanted. I could almost hear Kaidan’s heart beat like a hummingbird. An adorable display, even so when he went to give a kiss to my chin for light measure.
Kaidan’s lips caressed down my neck and to my collarbone. His nose tickled my skin, along with his feather-like kisses. My body tingled and shivers were up my spine, which caused my back to curl towards him slightly. He was intrigued by this, continuing his lips to my abdomen as he ignored my breasts. The feeling had my heart sink a bit, but was reversed as his hands went to cup them, gently. Kaidan’s palms were warm and big, and they’re enough to be a bra themself.
Kaidan was not a talker, that was obvious. But it was curious to see his eyes speak for him. The way he looked at me, I could hear him say the most heart melting things- his actions spoke for him.
As a Hand stayed on my chest, with gentle fondles and playful squeezes, the other went to hook a finger onto my last undergarment. His lips were right under my stomach, and I could feel my entire body shake with anticipation. Kaidan gave me his longing stare, practically begging me to let him continue. I nodded quickly, and tried to lift my hips to help remove them faster.
Once removed, Kaidan silently gazed, plotting out his next move. Embarrassed, my legs hesitatingly went to close, but Kaidan put his palm on one of my knees in a light touch. He looked up to me, and gave me a small quirk of a smile. His fingers of his free hand laid against my inner thigh as a tease.
“Would you like to… prepare…?” He asked, removing his hand on my knee but keeping his other dangerously close to my abdomen, as he scooted his body up to nearly lay next to me. I bit my lip and raised a brow.
“How much do you think I need preparation?” I hummed. He shrugged playfully.
“I don’t mean to brag, but…” he snickered, which caused a humored huff of from me.
“Oh, fine then. Let’s sate your ego…” I replied and he gently kissed my cheek as a response.
His hand went to lovingly crawl down to my folds, eagerly awaiting my plea. This tease…
“Please.” I muttered, and he obliged. Two of his fingers dipped gently around my labia, feeling around. I inhaled at the sudden feeling, and silently watched his face as he did mine- most likely scanning for discomfort.
I can hear my arousal, and it made me shiver with embarrassing thoughts. Lip biting was my last resort to keeping my cool.
Once he got his fingers… wet… enough, he dipped in and I inhaled slowly. The impending ring of fire was more light and gentle than I would have expected. Nonetheless, it felt discomforting but not painful.
“You alright? It will pass… but tell me when it’s too much and I’ll stop…” he spoke, the second half being more clear and stern than his gentle ask. I gave him a nod.
“‘M fine… just gotta get past the…” I huffed and he nodded in an understanding. He curved his palm in a way that had the carpal of his hand rub against my clit. I whimpered slightly at the feeling and Kaidan took it as a good sign. He pushed his fingers in deeper, and started to make a more curving motion.
The ring felt less hot and more comforting. It slowly began to undo me into a mess. I relaxed my muscles and limbed gently against the bed. My mouth was slightly ajar, feeling so relaxed of just feeling his fingers. Hearing the sounds of his fingers thrusting in a quicker manner, even adding a third that I barely noticed, I felt my body go hot, mind numbingly hot.
Even as he stopped, I could feel my mouth water from the pleasure.
“Do you think you’re ready?”
“Huh?” I asked, just coming out of my dazed thoughts. Kaidan chuckled.
“I asked if you think you’re ready..”
I cleared my throat and hummed, lifting my torso up with my elbows balancing me.
“Yes.”
Kaidan’s swift movement of removing his clothes was short lived, and rather a blur. Though, I was in awe that he was, in fact, valid to brag. He moved his hand back down to me and gave a firm wipe, and lubricated his shaft. I let my legs fall in a opening display as I waited eagerly.
A hand on my knee, and with an aim, he slipped in. The ring of fire was hotter and brighter, a far harsher reaction than his tough fingers.
“Gods- I…” I impulsively whimpered, clasping my fingers over my lips. He gently went to hold a hand, which was basically now pinned to the bed, as his other pressed against the bed too, but left my other hand free. He looked down at me, dazed as I, as he waited for me to relax my nerves. Once I was in a less uncomfortable situation, he thrusted out and pushed back in gently, going farther in.
The process repeated till he hit my cervix. Kaidan sat in a patient demeanor, kissing my neck as I adjusted to him fairly quickly. I wrapped my legs around him, loosely, and asked for a continuation. He obliged.
Kaidan kept his eyes on me, and I felt a surge of flush fill my face as I awkwardly tried to keep the eye contact. I could tell he was amused at this. Considering he was closer and closer to just fucking me silly.
With hips hitting mine, I felt the edge gently grow closer. But it always felt far. Kaidan went to gently sit up, and placed his hands against my hip as he dug me closer. My hands wrapped around the sheets of the bed as I felt my body go limp. My skin felt hot, my brain was fuzzy with warmth, and my mouth let out sounds of pleasure. I did my best to see that I was never loud to wake the damn inn, especially my companions. But Kaidan made this oh so difficult.
The edge drew near, and I could hear Kaidan growing to the end as well. Oh, if the world ended I would be content to die on the spot.
“Ka-Kai..dan.” I stuttered, whining out his name as I felt my release on the tip. My breathing became vocal, and my legs squeezed him tight. My entire abdomen burned.
He predicted my edge, as a hand went to my clit and gently rubbed in a slow motion. That was the line, and my run came to an end. My breath became hitched as I felt it so hard to keep my voice contained. Kaidan went to kiss me to help, and I moaned into his mouth without shame. My hands twirling in his hair.
The hair gripping probably helped him release, because I couldn’t feel him anymore after my high. Just a very warm and wet sensation on my belly. His voice echoing my name in our kiss was sensational.
Taking all our energy to catch our breath and mind, we both slumped over on the bed. Heavily gasping.
Though, Kaidan snapped out of it quicker than me, and went to grab a rag to clean me and him up. He went to lay back down next to me, and we quietly went into each others arms, no words were needed.
As Masser and Secunda filled the night, Kaidan and I exchanged a voiceless cuddle, holding each other in a warm embrace as we let the night take us.

The Gang Meets Kaidan
((T for violence, some blood and unpleasant death of unnamed evil guards))
Kaidan awoke still alive, much to his surprise. He'd hoped his captors had given up trying to squeeze blood from a stone and ended it already; he knew nothing, and they knew it. But even when the prison collapsed and most had vacated, a few Thalmor remained behind with him. They were desperate. Desperate for what, he didn't know.
A noise roused him from his thoughts. Whispers, and he thought he heard a chuckle, too.
“Let's see what our prospector here can do.” A dark voice crooned.
Kaidan felt sick, trying to brace himself for another “session.” Rarely did he ever have a moment to prepare.
Strange, though. Usually the guards spoke in Aldmeri unless they were addressing him. What games were they playing this time?
Another voice grunted, and he flinched as he heard the approaching footsteps. He chastised himself for displaying fear like that. He could hear two people now. One was speaking, the other one—a woman?
"Shhh!" she hissed at the others.
No, he thought. Not another woman interrogator. Not like last time... His whole body tensed. An anger filled his arms with a tiny spark of renewed strength.
Go ahead and come closer, he thought. See what happens.
The barred door swung open, and Kaidan dug his nails into his palms, not even looking up to see who had entered. The footsteps stopped. Then there was silence again, except for the sound of breathing.
"Ahem--"
Kaidan lunged at the visitor. “I'll kill you all myself!!”
To his small satisfaction, she stumbled backwards, smacking the stone floor. Good--about time they got acquainted with it for once.
The others snickered.
“Easy there, friend.” one of them spoke in a low voice, and a distinctly non-altmer accent. “We're getting you out of here.”
Kaidan glanced up at his visitors. It was hard to tell in the dark, but he couldn't see any Thalmor robes. That accent, if anything, was closer to Lleyawin. He had never wandered into Elseweyr or Black Marsh, though. But then again, both were under Dominion rule and he wasn't about to forget it.
“Really, now?” He muttered hoarsely.
The one who had approached him sat on the floor, hooded and cast in shadow. She scoffed.
“Really,” a woman near the back of the group reassured him, then chuckled at the other woman on the floor. “C'mon Enid. We'll make sure he won't bite.”
“Feh!” The woman on the floor scrambled to her knees. She slowly approached him, holding up her hands to the lock. “You'd better not,” she growled in Nordic, but he couldn't quite distinguish the accent.
Kaidan froze, unsure if he was surrendering to a fleeting hope that this wasn't some sick Thalmor ploy.
A light erupted from her hands--pale and cold. An all-too-familiar light, as Kaidan's body reacted of its own accord. Thrashing, screaming, kicking, cursing. He bashed his head into hers before she could even react.
Enid crashed back on the floor, and her magelight extinguished. "By the mists!!” She spat.
Kaidan's heart was still hammering as he tried to gain control of his breath.
“Had a time with mages, haven't you?” one of the group commented.
“I'm done!” Enid hissed from the floor, holding her forehead. “He don't like magic? T'row him a lockpick, he can open t'ose locks with his godsdamned feet!”
“Oh, but Prospector, we're dying to see your alteration in action!” the woman from the back said.
“Well, seems he isn't!” Enid thrust a finger at Kaidan.
Kaidan, still catching his breath, searched for her eyes--something he could try to read off of her, but finding no more than the sharp tip of her nose poking from that hood.
“S-sorry...” he managed, feeling humiliated and weak. “Just...a warning, please.”
“Fine, here goes...” she growled. With a snap of a finger, her magelight ignited once more, illuminating her face under the hood. It was a thin, pale face, with tiny pupils and pressed lips. A few curls poked out of a white cap, but there was nothing else to soften her exasperated gaze, nor the angry red lump growing on her forehead.
“So I can see what I'm doing, alright?” She arched her eyebrows and wiggled her fingers around the light. “The rest is just feeling the lock and moving the parts. Shouldn't hurt unless you're made out of brass.”
Kaidan swallowed and nodded, bracing to tolerate any phobias and condescending remarks if it meant seeing daylight again.
She gingerly scooted back up to him, narrowing her eyes at his tensing muscles. Kaidan tried forcing himself to relax with a shuddering sigh.
She leaned over his shoulder and hovered her hand over his left shackle. He could smell the familiar scent of travel--pine, sweat, and a hint of smoke. It stirred a renewed longing for that long-forgotten freedom--freedom which was strangely so close now. He tried not to think of how he must have smelled to her.
Enid hmmed and clicked her tongue, massaging the lock. He glanced over her shoulder at the rest of the group, a couple of which were still snickering.
Kaidan wasn't all too sure about them--four total: A barely leather-clad Nord woman, a small man drowning in furs, someone covered head to toe in Dunmer armor, and what looked to be a blue Khajiit--must've been the dim light playing tricks on his mind--in threadbare hunter's gear.
“Sorry,” the small man in the furs quipped in a high voice. “We're laughing at her, not you.”
“Why?” Kaidan furrowed his brow.
“SHH!” Enid shushed none-too-politely.
The man shrugged at Kaidan.
She resumed her work on Kaidan's shackles, muttering and huffing. Minutes dripped by painfully, with this woman awkwardly bent around him and his filth, with an amused audience. And as far as he could tell, there was no progress.
“Um,” he gingerly turned his head. “Is everyth--?”
She shot him a look that silenced him.
With renewed focus on his shackle, she leaned in closer. “C'mon, c'mon...” she growled, again in Nordic.
He felt a click in the metal.
Kaidan didn't wait for her help to wiggle his wrist from the chafing iron band. Enid swiveled her waist to face their audience.
“Ta-da.” She said flatly, flourishing her hands at them.
“Nice, very nice,” the dunmer sighed. “I'm sure our client will find you valuable.”
“Hmpf,” she turned back to Kaidan, rolling her eyes, and scooted to his other shackle. She was able to free that one a bit faster this time.
“Thank you,” Kaidan sighed, rubbing his chapped wrists.
She replied with a grunt, rocking back on her feet and dusting off her aproned skirt.
“And I'm sorry...” He switched his speech to Nordic.
“Hm?” her head snapped down at him.
Kaidan awkwardly pointed to his forehead. Hers would certainly carry that mark for a few days.
“Oh, t'at.” She frowned, touching her bump. She spoke more quickly and confidently in Nordic, yet he still couldn't pinpoint her accent. “Well, just don't do it again.”
Kaidan chucked for the first time in what felt like an impossibly long time. “Deal.”
The nord woman led the group into the cell and they quickly circled around. “Name's Sofia,” she crooned with a wink.
Kaidan grimaced, unable to recall when he had last had the chance to bathe. “Kaidan,” he nodded.
He flinched at a finger tap to his shoulder. “And I'm Lucien! Pleased to meet ya!” the imperial man chirped.
“Not to interrupt the niceties, but we oughtta move,” the dunmer muttered. “I imagine there might be a stray guard or two.”
“Wait,” Kaidan wobbled on his knees, trying to find the strength to stand. “I know I owe you, and I don't have the right to ask, but they have my sword. I'd like to get it back.”
Enid pressed her lips. “No time.”
“Look,” Kaidan stumbled to his feet, feeling the prison spinning. He grabbed onto the stone wall. “It's not just sentimental. They were after my sword. If it's that important, we don't want the Thalmor having it, right?”
“It's not our job fighting T'almor.” She unlatched a water bottle from her hip, tossing it to Kaidan.
“Oh, prospector!” Lucien piped up again. “Let the poor chap get his sword back!”
“We just got our asses handed to us in those dwemer ruins.” The dunmer grumbled. “Even if I disagreed with the prospector here, we're in no shape to fight Thalmor agents.”
“Speak for yourself, Teldryn!” Sofia grinned, cracking her neck and unsheathing an axe. “At least these so-called high elves are nice and squishy!”
“Squishy, you say!” The khajiit chuckled. “I'm in!”
“Looks like you two are out-voted.” Lucien shrugged at Teldryn, who scoffed. Enid groaned.
“Thanks,” Kaidan croaked before taking a long draft from the waterbottle. “I owe all of you.”
They snuck on through the other side of the cell, Enid at the lead after casting a couple unknown spells. She moved silently, with the khajiit and dunmer close behind, bow and shortsword drawn respectively. Kaidan and Sofia filed right behind them, with the small imperial tailing the group.
“Down that hall,” Kaidan whispered. Up ahead, Enid rounded the first corner of the hallway.
One by one, they followed around the corner. Enid crouched near the next corner, holding up a finger.
Damn, already spotted a guard, it seemed.
“Oh, just one,” Sofia chuckled. “Inigo's a great shot--one hit to the throat and they won't make a--”
“AUGH!” Enid yelped, stumbling and landing on her rump. Something small and fuzzy retreated from her ankle, and Kaidan thought he spied--a porcupine!? He blinked, but his eyes didn't deceive him. The rodent turned back to stand on its hind legs and stare at her.
“Is someone there?” The guard's voice called.
“FUCK!” she hissed, looking down at her white stockings now impaled with several quills.
Enid scowled at the porcupine. Raising her hands, she cast some spell, spinning the creature around. With a squeal, about a dozen quills yanked themselves free from its back, flying to the prospector before hovering around her casting hands.
The guard rounded the corner, right on her now.
She ducked backward, swooping her hands to direct the quills straight into his face.
The guard howled, clutching his face as blood dripped down his cheeks.
Sofia wasted no time jumping past the others and cleaving his head with her axe.
Enid collapsed to the floor, nursing her leg and scowling at the retreating porcupine. “T'at does it! I oughtta pluck and roast you!”
“Aww, he loves you, Prospector! He's been following you all the way from Lake Ilinalta, hasn't he?” Lucien squatted next to the porcupine, who snorted at him and turned its back. “Looked like he was trying to get a good snuggle.”
“Well, maybe it can go love on someone else,” Enid furrowed her brow, gingerly pinching one of the quills and wincing. “Been a literal t'orn in my side...”
With a wet squelch, Sofia extracted her axe from the twitching thalmor guard. “That was alright, hope there's more!”
“No, I get the next one!” Inigo hissed. Under the torchlight of the prison hallway, his fur was indeed blue. Sofia didn't respond, unashamedly pulling out the guard's pockets.
"Damn, just a couple septims,” she tsked.
“F-f-fu....” Enid's hands twitched at the quills, not quite able to steel herself to grab them.
Teldryn sighed, squatting down and yanking them all at once with a flick of the arm.
A pained grunt erupted through her clenched teeth. “That dumb animal...”
“Let's move.” Teldryn had already hopped back to his feet and peered around the corner.
“Sure,” Enid grunted. “Inigo, go ahead.” She nodded at the Khajiit.
As they proceeded, she was content to limp in the back of the group alongside Lucien.
Teldryn moved like liquid. The halls flickered as they moved further into the offices, but no sign of life.
“Hm,” he said, glancing at the room at the end, with the door left ajar. “Seems to be the storage room. Perhaps--”
Kaidan felt a wetness on his bare feet, nearly slipping. Far more slick than water.
Oil.
“WAIT!!” Kaidan called out in horror, but already a lantern plummeted from the ceiling.
Teldryn shoved Sofia and Inigo forward, and Kaidan stumbled back into Enid and Lucien as the lantern crashed onto the floor and an inferno engulfed the dunmer.
“Amateurs!” Teldryn spat, unfased by the blanket of flames..
“Teldryn! Catch!” Inigo tossed a guard at Teldryn who, still on fire, held his foe in a scorching headlock. The guard screamed, and Enid and Lucien recoiled in disgust at this rather drawn-out and gruesome death.
As for Kaidan, well, he didn't wish it on his worst enemy, yet he couldn't find pity in his heart for any thalmor.
Lucien stared wide-eyed at the charred remains Teldryn dropped to the floor as the last of the fire went out. “Was that really necessary?”
“He tried doing the same to us, didn't he? Or she. I didn't get a great look.”
Enid limped around the group and the guard to glance into the room. “Is this it?”
Kaidan followed her in. There was little but a chest labeled “Evidence.”
“Must be,” he said, kneeling before the chest and opening it. He couldn't remember the last time a smile found his face, but he was now beaming at his old armor. “Ey, old friend,” he muttered, touching the glassy steel.
“Awwhh, does he have to cover up?” Sofia whined as Kaidan donned his armor. Kaidan stopped and stared at her for a moment, and the rest of the team collectively rolled their eyes.
And right below his armor, his sword.
“Thank you,” he addressed the team as he latched it to his belt. “I owe you my life.” He addressed Enid, who frowned. “All of you,” he looked around the group. The others smiled. Except maybe Teldryn, but under that chitin helment, he gave a solemn nod.
“Well, if you're not too busy, you should stick with us.” Sofia winked. “We could always use another strong healthy man on our team.”
Enid shot her a look that could send a dremora back to the deadlands.
Teldryn shrugged. “We're not splitting our profit six ways, but if he doesn't mind--”
“What profit??” Enid scoffed.
Lucien didn't wait for a vote or even an agreement from Kaidan. He simply grabbed his hand and shook it vigorously. “Welcome aboard!”

Destiny Waits for No One
Chapter 4 - Fool's Gold
Pairing: Eventual Nebarra/LDB (Gender Neutral Reader) Other Characters: Kaidan, Xelzaz, Lucifer, Khash, Inigo, and Lucien Rating: Mature Words: 1875 Additional notes: Very slow burn, frenemies to lovers, Nebarra is an ass, Xelzaz continues to be the coolest Read on AO3
The wing beats were growing distant, and with a quick glance to the skies, you sprinted forward, coming to a sliding halt by the survivor's side. Already, you could feel the heat radiating from their armor.
"Fan out! Get Khash to that barrow we saw not too far back!" You called out over your shoulder.
"On it, Dargonborn!" Behind you, you could hear Khash's protests as Lucifer coaxed her to follow him.
"Inigo, I heard it in that direction, scout it out. No heroics, get back here alive."
"Aye, aye."
As he disappeared into the mists, you reached down to the poor sap, gently helping them sit up. "Are you alright?"
"I'm bleeding out like a gutted nebarra. Of course I'm not alright." He hissed, breath shaky, coming in ragged gasps.
"Hold still, I can heal you." You'd been practicing your healing hands since the last dragon attack. Xelzaz had been more than willing to teach you.
"No!" He coughed, the sound wet, almost bubbling in his throat. "I've seen the kind of scars the legion came away with.Healing potions."
You nodded, fishing around in your pack and pulling out one of the condensed formulas you'd been experimenting with. "Here. Drink this then."
He lifted his helmet only a fraction, and you saw only a very bloody chin as he gulped it down.
You listened intently for the sounds of anyone else, but all of the other bodies were charred beyond recognition. "I'm sorry about your friends."
"Not my friends." His breaths began to steady after a moment, the potion beginning to work its magic.
"O... kay then." You could vaguely see a set of gold eyes staring warily at you from the eye slits of his helm. "Well, who did we save today?"
"... Nebarra. Just... just call me Nebarra." Something about the way he said it almost sounded... defeated.
"That's um... an interesting name." You said, not quite liking how it had rolled off his tongue.
"It isn't a name, it's an insult." He rasped, and he stretched his back, joints popping and crackling like the fire that had consumed the carriage. "It means unwelcome and foreigner in Altmer."
You frowned, "Why would you want me to call you something like that?"
"Because I don't want to tell you my name, and I feel like a bloody nebarra in Skyrim." Strength was beginning to come back to his voice, and his cadence coupled with the condescending way you spoke was... grating.
But you figured he did just survive something traumatic so you let it slide, and you stood, offering your hand to help him to his feet. "Alright then. Where were you headed? Do we need to get you anywhere?"
Nebarra got up on his own. "Not anymore. I was a caravan guard. Ernurd wanted to avoid the roads, so we stuck to the forest. Figured it was contraband or something... must not have been that important if he left most of it out here though. Not that any of that bleeding matters with a giant lizard that can light up a whole valley flying about."
Inigo crept around the cart, "It appears to have headed for the mountains. We should be safe for now."
"Oh, great, a cat.Let me guess, you have contraband as well?" The altmer sounded bored.
You stepped between him and Inigo, "No contraband here. Just a group of intrepid adventurers."
"... Lovely. Well, I unfortunately don't have much that wasn't completely incinerated, and Ernurd certainly isn't going to pay me anymore, so instead of coin, I suppose you can have my sword at your side."
"We don't just let anyone travel with us," You lied.
... Well it wasn't a full lie. You had turned Lydia away when you'd been appointed Thane of Whiterun, and left her back at Dragonsreach.
"What skills do you bring to the table?"
He cracked his neck, rolling his shoulders. "I think you'll find I'm very, very good at killing things."
"And yet, the Dragonborn was the one to save you." Kaidan eyed up your new potential companion with a great disdain, slowly stepping closer until he was only a few feet away. "And you don't even seem particularly grateful."
"What about offering my services free of charge doesn't seem grateful?" Nebarra crossed his arms, straightening up.
You placed a hand on your companion's shoulder, "I'm a thane now. It's my job to save people, Kai. And there's a dragon out there. We have strength in numbers, so let's just get him to safety and discuss compensation after."
"Heel boy." You could hear the sneer in Nebarra's voice. "It seems at least your leader has some sense."
"I'll show you some sense-"
"Enough." Your eyes looked your newest... potential recruit over as you motioned for everyone to head back to the cave to pick up Khash and Lucifer. "Xelzaz, where's the closest settlement?"
"Falkreath. It shouldn't be too far from here."
"Good. Lead the way... mind the skies, everyone." You walked in silence, scanning your surroundings for danger, falling into step beside Nebarra. "I think we got off on the wrong foot, friend-"
"Oh hohoho... we're not friends. I owe you a life debt, no need to take it further than that."
You narrowed your eyes at him.
He truly was grating.
"If we're going to be travelling together, I don't see how it would hurt to at least try."
He turned to look at you, face frustratingly hidden by his helm. "You're new to the whole adventuring thing, aren't you?"
"What makes you think that?" Your smile didn't waver.
"Look, uh.... What did you say your name was?"
"I did-"
He cut you off with a shake of the head, raising a hand to stop you, "Doesn't really matter given you'll probably be dead in a few days. Don't become an adventurer to find yourself; You'll sooner find your grave."
Deep breaths.
Deep breaths.
"You can't talk to the Dragonborn like that!" Lucifer cut in.
"The what?"
"A legendary hero of Skyrim that can shout and eats dragon souls."
Nebarra just laughed... a grating, wretched noise, "Of course I can, I'm the long lost prince of Alinor."
That cause Lucifer pause, and you placed a hand on his shoulder. "Doesn't a prince usually wear a crown?"
He... didn't take to subtlety or sarcasm very well.
"Hence the Long Lost," Drawled the elf.
"That still doesn't give you the right to talk to The Dragonborn like that."
"Yeah!" Khash butt in. "Do not be rude to our friend!"
"Oh, good. Another one."
You exchanged a glance with Xelzaz. "Hey, guys," You interjected, "How about a song for the road to lift the spirits?"
"That is an excellent idea, my friend!" Your Khajiit companion gave you a wolfish smile.
"I'm beginning to think you didn't actually save my life.... You just ruined my death." Nebarra muttered, walking faster to get away from the noise as Inigo began to sing his rendition of Ragnar the Red.
You joined in once or twice, but you didn't quite know the words.
Xelzaz being pleasant, and lovely, as ever introduced himself with some sort of Altmeri greeting only to be rudely dismissed.
"I'm afraid I'm at my limit of for my knowledge of High Elven words."
"Yes, I do imagine the complexities of elf-tongue would prove a difficult task for a slek such as yoursel-"
It took you two bounds to cross the distance.
Torque in the hips. Fist extended. "FUS!"
Your punch sent the elf flying, the intentions of Force behind it strengthening the blow.
Ignoring the blossoming pain in your hand from where bare skin and bone had met with the metal of his armor. "You do NOT speak to him like that. Ever again. Am I understood, fahliil?"
The word had rolled off your tongue as though they were something you understood.
And for some reason... you did.
Fahliil.
Elf.
The singing stopped. All eyes on you once more.
Khash let out a little whoop. "Tusk yeah! Get his ass! Can I punch him next?"
"What in Oblivion was That?" Nebarra hissed, his armor had cushioned him from the full force of the blow.
"That wasn't really necessary," Xelzaz said. "I'm more than capable of dealing with people like him."
But your blood boiled, "You shouldn't have to." You slowly made your way to where Nebarra was sitting up. "You owe me a life debt, and I am willing to overlook how unpleasant you are to me. But Xelzaz is my friend, and I'll not have you speak to any of my friends like that. I will not tolerate slurs in this party. Got it?"
You exhaled, extending out a hand to help him up. He immediately batted it away, getting to his feet himself. "We're going to get along just swimmingly aren't we?"
"Clearly."
He hung back towards the rear as you all walked in silence. The mood thoroughly ruined.
"I appreciate your enthusiasm, friend." Xelzaz chuckled after a moment, finally locating the road to Falkreath. He must have noticed your hand because he took it in his own and began inspecting it. "But people like Nebarra aren't worth getting upset over."
"Do you think we should let him travel with us?"
The bruise that had begun to bloom receded as he cast healing hands on you. "That's up to you. I won't complain one way or another."
Gods, he was so cool.
You wished you could keep your cool like that.
"We'll see how he fairs next time we encounter some bandits or something...." You mumbled.
"I say we ditch him the first town we get to." Kaidan muttered, glowering at your newest recruit.
"No... he owes me a life debt, and I'll see he repays it." You narrowed your eyes at Nebarra as well.
"What happened to him proving himself?" Xelzaz asked.
"I've made up my mind. He's coming with us. Just let me know if he mistreats you."
The gates of Falkreath loomed before you.
"I think that's a bad idea, friend. He'd betray you for a single septim, I can smell it on him." Kaidan huffed.
You just winked at him. "And that's where you come in. If he betrays me, I know you'll be able to keep me safe."
You almost missed the way his ears flushed as he gave you a sheepish chuckle, "Aye.... Our bond is forged in battle, I've got back."
"Good." Patting his arm, you ran a few paces ahead to jump up and slap the sign of the inn. "It's settled then. We'll rest the rest of the day, recover, get a few ales, and set out for Riverwood in the morning."
"Won't say no to that plan." Kai grinned. "Hopefully they'll have a good bard.... No offense, Inigo."
"I wasn't offended until you said that." Inigo gave him a dry look.
You all got food, eating with a reedy man named Lucien who offered you a great sum of gold to travel with you. And so your party grew by two in one day.
Kaidan and Khash danced to the bard's tunes, and the mood stayed fairly light... except for one surly elf sipping wine through a straw in the corner.

Maybe some more sub kaidan headcanons? I'd love to see how he reacts to being praised. Or how far he'll let you go when you praise him, is he super and embarrassed but follows along anyway? Even if he gets teased for how easily he's going along with it all?
It's no secret Kai is canonically a little bit masochistic, how far does he go with that? "Tooth and nail never hurt me, not in a way I didn't like anyway," I believe is the line, dunno the context. What do you think his boundaries would be? Does he have a preference for soft Vs rough? I think he'd lean towards the soft, but have no problems with the rough.
Just, headcanons for kaidan being submissive for his partner because he trusts them <333
` 𖤓 . . . KAIDAN.
NSFW! Headcanon.
Minors, please dni!! Sexual content ahead.
I'm glad that sub!Kaidan is something the majority of us all seem to agree on. This is just a lil *thing*, I might do a bigger post with lots of praise and just <3333 bc he deserves it.
He's definitely into both soft and rough. He doesn't mind either way, his body is yours to do what you wish with.
He has full trust in you, he knows you'll only do things you'll both enjoy. Soft or rough, he's game.
But Kaidan does have a soft side for the softer side of you, he loves being fucked so good while also feeling you completely consume him, to feel loved and safe and warm.
Being able to show that vulnerability, he loves it.
Kaidan craved every part of you, mind, body, and soul. If he could open you up completely and absorb everything that is you, he would. Which is why he clenches his thighs together in anticipation, the crimson eyes you loved held them weakly and needy, watching you move closer - too slow for his liking - his skin shivers as you brush your fingertips up his thighs, feeling each scar and scratch that litters across his tan skin. He watches, his hands aching against the rope behind his back, all he wants to do is touch you.
Kaidan is torn between keeping the eye contact you hold, or if he wants to look across your body as you push his legs open with your knee, his cock bouncing back onto his stomach as your hand slowly trails past the happy trail that leads up his stomach.
"Aw, my sweet Kaidan, so needy." Fuck. He almost whimpers, by the Gods he loves it when you speak to him. Your voice like fucking honey and your touch is like magic, he shivers as you lean down. Nose brushes against his, lips ghosting his, "Want me to take care of you?" You whisper, he nods way too eagerly and you laugh but his cock pulsates with need, "Y-Yes.."
"Yes?" "Yes.. Please." You correct him as your hand travels and forms against his neck, curling around until your grip makes him cough a little. "Good boy."
