A different kind of power sparked inside the house, startling them both, and Inuyasha flew into the nearest tree. Most humans couldn't see them, but there were a few who were blessed by the gods from birth. Their inner eye—or holy power—was akin to the lower-level deities, which meant it was harder to hide, and he didn't feel like explaining why a half-naked man with wings was on their property.

Surprisingly, Sesshoumaru didn't move. Inuyasha rolled his eyes. The bastard probably thought he was so far above everyone that he was immune to even the most powerful humans, and Inuyasha's claws dug into the bark. Just once, he wanted to cut his brother down to size.

To prove he was just as important as the rest of them.

The door to the hut opened, and a woman with dark hair stepped over the threshold. Inuyasha blinked, momentarily confused. Had he gotten the wrong house? He'd never seen a human with eyes so blue. He kept himself hidden but let his aura wander, clicking his tongue when their powers collided.

She was human. She was a priestess, and a very powerful one, but still human.

His power retreated, not wanting to give himself away, and he watched her for a few moments, waiting to see if any of the other gods suddenly appeared. If she was under their protection, they'd feel the flare and intervene immediately. Even the less powerful ones hated their territory being invaded.

When she remained alone, he glanced down at his brother. He still hadn't moved, and an idea struck. Inuyasha's mouth curved up into a smirk as he readied his bow. She was the target, but that didn't mean he couldn't have a little fun first.

A golden arrow appeared between his fingers, the fletching brushing his cheek. With a controlled breath to calm his heart, he blinked slowly, took aim at his brother's back, then let the arrow fly.

So I know Kagome and Kikyo are supposed to look alike… and they don’t really in the anime lol. Also (I could be wrong) I think Kikyo is a bit older? In my head, Kagome is 15 and Kikyo is like 17/18. I drew Kagome first, and tried to give her more roundness to her face since she’s younger~

This was fun to draw almost the same face, but to add enough subtle differences to make them unique ☺️

The Nutcracker Lord

I've been sitting on this idea ever since I started writing, and I'm finally getting around to it! So, of course it went from three parts to me being 10k and five chapters in with no end in sight. Luckily @mrfeenysmustache was nice enough to join me in this chaos and create some lovely illustrations.

Summary: As a world-travelling dancer, it isn't often that Kagome makes it home for Christmas. Making the most of her trip, she plays the role of dutiful daughter, helping her mother prepare for her annual Christmas party. But a lone wooden figure under the tree catches her eye, leading her into a world of magic drenched in turmoil, and she'll need more than a pair of shoes to get out unscathed.

Edging around the side of the tree, Kagome jumped back when something crinkled under her feet. She was about to yell at Kouga for opening his presents early but frowned when she realized the tissue paper was still inside the box. Kneeling down, she pushed a gnarled branch out of the way to reveal two pairs of gleaming, golden eyes.

They were made of wood, the paint of their uniforms untarnished—one in red, the other in white—and she lifted them out of the open box. There was no tag, no ripped ribbon, and she looked between the two figures, trying to decide who they were for—or from.

"I see you've found our newly invited guests," a familiar voice rumbled. Kagome nearly dropped the statues, on the verge of jumping to her feet when the daiyoukai sat down beside her. How he managed to do so in his three-piece suit was beyond her, but she was used to chalking it up to youkai magic.

Her eyes moved between the figures and her uncle. "You're supposed to run all invitations by Mama first."

He chuckled, his long silver hair tied back into a high ponytail. Most demons were more subtle about their appearance, trying to blend into their surroundings, but not Touga. He made a point of showing off his markings whenever possible, be it pulling his hair back or rolling up his sleeves. Mama constantly called him out on it, though it was more for Izayoi's sake than anything else.

"In this case, I think she'll make an exception." He had a mysterious twinkle in his eye that always preceded mischief, and Kagome held the two figures up to the light.

"Who are they?" she asked, turning them sideways.

An uncharacteristic sigh escaped his lips. "Two boys pretending to be men," he answered. "Both too big for their britches, which, incidentally, got them cursed into these forms in the first place."

A Inuyasha fanfiction for @kagomes-hanakotobamatsuri event Hanakotob Matsuri 2025 week 1 Devotion & Reverence and @monthlywritingchallenges event April Showers day 2 thunder.

A thunderstorm blew over a village and a black hair miko sleep with her husband Inuyasha when she hear the door open and Kagome open her eyes to find her six years old white hair and dog ears and brown eyes daughter Izayo whose look scared as she ask, "Mommy, can I sleep with you and daddy?" and Kagome said to her daughter, "Of course, Izayo. Come over here, sweetheart." which the scared little girl soon go to the bed. Another thunderclap cause Izayo to yelp and curl to her mother, which Kagome said to her daughter, "There, there, Izayo. Mommy and daddy are here for you. Everything will be okay in the end. The thunder will go away by the morning." and Kagome's sooing begin to make Izayo to go to asleep with Kagome smile as her child remind Kagome of her younger brother Sota.
