Weird question, but why is the physical copy of the English Kagerou Project light novel so expensive right now? Specifically volume 6.

Just a passing thought - but you know how Ayano has bad grades? And how it was so bad she was in summer school even though it was the start of her high school year?

How much of that was because she was genuinely having trouble with school and how much of it was because of Kano replacing her so nobody would notice? Kano - who to my knowledge, didn't go to school.

I could be wrong, but I don't remember Shintaro saying anything about her grades becoming bad in high school, it's safe to assume she was already struggling beforehand, but would she have been getting grades as low as 56 (a grade seen in Toumei Answer) if she were attending school regularly? Or would they at least be passing?

Just a stray thought that keeps bugging me.

I was thinking if some people really end up slaughtered in every loop, couldn't Marry let it go and go on living with whoever's left. But then I remember like, even if she could bear with it (most of the time she couldn't), the two times there were other survivor(s), one sacrificed herself for the next loop anyway and the other lost his goddamn mind. So yeah, not happening.

Eu sempre quis ser um pequeno ícone perfeito como este. Eu não podia fazer nada além de suportar a violência; eu não conseguia manter um lugar seguro para mim; eu me encolhia diante dos destinos que as pessoas teciam para  mim. E eu queria mudar isso.

Certo. Era isso que eu queria fazer.

Ou deveria ter sido.

Mas essa aspiração era uma maldição.

Esse desejo de me tornar algo se tornou uma preocupação apavorada de que eu tinha que ser algo. Comecei a me desprezar abertamente, esse monstro que não conseguia viver de acordo com a aspiração. Desviei meus olhos do ser feio que havia me tornado, invejando os outros, caindo nesse poço sem fundo... Era esse tipo de maldição.

Monstros de verdade vivem no fundo desse tipo de escuridão. Criaturas que não conseguem amar ninguém, não são amadas por ninguém; coisas que apenas anseiam pela infelicidade dos outros e pela continuação de suas próprias vidas... É a aspiração que cria esses monstros.

Todo esse tempo, tenho ouvido as vozes desses monstros, arrastando-me na direção oposta dos meus ideais, mesmo enquanto eu tentava alcançar aquelas minhas brilhantes esperanças.

Continuei vivendo sob o lema de que eu, de todas as pessoas, nunca acabaria como elas. Apenas continuamente estendendo a m��o, de dentro daquele vazio negro como tinta, vestindo a pele de um ser humano...

Mas nunca notei a luz. Não até que aquela mão que estendeu, que finalmente alcançou estes desejos.

Encontrei algo que precisava manter seguro. Eu tinha sido fraco, mas agora eu tinha poder. E fui abençoado com amigos que disseram que precisavam de mim.

Mas não importa o que eu fizesse, eu não conseguia encontrar coragem para não fugir.

E realmente, se eu não conseguisse isso, era para o melhor.

Quando você toma posse de uma aspiração, é para o melhor.

Quando você toma posse de uma aspiração, tudo o que espera do outro lado é a ansiedade desesperada de que você a perderá, junto com um vazio sem fundo. Você treme ao pensar em quão passageira é a pessoa que você quer proteger. Você é atormentado pelo peso pesado de ser um amigo.

Aspiração é uma maldição?

my experience w the kagerou project is sorta hilarious because i was a fan of the anime and the songs exclusively on and off for about seven years. part of that was bc the manga and novels were not finished for a while so i didnt read them bc i forgot they existed.

i also barely knew what the songs had going on. like i understood a lot of what the anime had going on in terms of characters and base plot tho. but i was a fan of the kagerou project half on gross misinterpretations and vibes alone.

i wildly misunderstood what the ending of mekakucity actors was. until i think winter of last year i thought that the project ended with everyone dying, including mary. and that ending had really stuck with me like all throughout my childhood and the kagerou project itself was VERY influential to me and still is. but learning that the thing that had influenced so much for my work thematically for so much of my time as a storyteller fully Never Happened is so fucking funny. what do you mean summertime record (episode 12) ends with everyone getting out and thats not the afterlife or something??

and its not like i only watched mekakucity actors once when i was 12 and then never again. i watched it a couple of times over the years and somehow the plot of the final episode managed to sail perfectly and beautifully over my head. in my defense episode 12 is kinda confusing and in my opinion very unclear and ambiguous so its not really all my fault.

cuz a core memory of last year was sitting with a friend of mine and telling him about kagepro and being like 'yea and it ends with them all dying' and talking about how that was interesting and kagepro was one of the works of fiction that influenced me the most. and that kinda made me get kagepilled again, except when i rewatched the anime again the ending actually clicked correctly in my brain and i awkwardly had to tell my friend that id fully spread misinformation to them about one of my favorite series of all time. funniest shit ever.
