Be Careful Not to Mess With the Balance of Things"
Introductory post !!!
Max Russo x Fem!Reader
Chapter 1 (more coming soon...)
Synopsis:
When the usual becomes unusual all because of one girl…
Professor Crumbs never dropped by for casual visits. His sudden arrival carried grave news: A soul transfer by a nymph to a mortal girl, giving the mortal magical abilities. The girl, unaware of her new powers could fall victim to death or insanity if her powers were left untrained or weren't fully removed.
The Russo's weren't sure how exactly they played into this but once told that the only clue on finding this girl was her recent move to New York, alongside her family- things made more sense.
"So you want us to kidnap her?"
Naturally, none of the Russo's expected to actually bump into this girl, especially not Max. But upon bumping into the new girl at school, things took a sharp turn.
That girl was you.
Caught in a whirlwind of cheesy romance, clichéd tropes, and something as unreal as magic was you, painfully aware of how ridiculous everything seemed to be.
"Why does it feel like we're in a sitcom?"
But this wasn't a sitcom. Behind the sandwiches and spells was an ugly truth.
"You might die. Emphasis on the 'might'."
The 'might' didn't make it feel any better when everyone was so serious.

"You like sandwiches too?"
"I can't believe you guys thought I wouldn't do something so stupid."
"You have beautiful eyes...like olives. I think I'm hungry."

Justin Russo
"Does it not get through your thick skull? You have magic powers and need our help to help you control them. Thus, you should totally follow us into this cramped corridor. So what if we're strangers?"
"You might die. Emphasis on the 'might'."
"Since I'm the student body president, your actions affect my reputation. SO STOP THIS. Thank you"

Alex Russo
"When did the music get so romantic and WHY IS MAX HOLDING A BOUQUET?"
"Isn't it fun? You have magical powers, so what if you might explode. Yeah no, that sounded better in my head."
"Relax, without stupid people we wouldn't have anyone to laugh at, right Max?"
"Try this spell, it might work. I found it in this book- "Definitely Not Curses". See, they aren't curses."

"Like my new outfit?  Only made of bubblewrap and cardboard."
"I don't think anyone needed to see that.."

"They'd make a cute couple, right Jerry?" "Agreed"
"That's it Jerry. I need an explanation, now." "Argh..! Max, word your sentences better..!"

Professor Crumbs
"No Justin, I am not taking you on an escapade."
"Oh, I didn't expect them to actually find you."
"This is quite an interesting case, truly. I just don't understand why the Nymph chose you."
"Anyone for some tea?"

Disclaimer: I do not own any of the character's from Wizard's Of Waverly Place, all credits go to Disney for the character's used from their franchise. The only characters I claim ownership of are one's I invented myself.
Author's Note: Hello guys, I'm Brownie and this is my first story on this fandom (or anything Disney really). This is supposed to be a crack-fic but it still has a plot and is still taken seriously by me. When I say 'crack', I mean that the MC (you) is VERY self-aware- and obviously Y/N isn't Candace but that's the kind of vibe I'm going for. I'm talking about the "this is the eleventh time we've bumped into each other today" OR "Why does it feel like we're in a rom-com movie" kind of humor. BUT because I'm recently in LOVE with Max Russo, the character, I JUST HAD to start writing this. Not to mention, there's a lack of fics on this fandom and him specifically (I'm on a mission to change that)

so. totally unrelated fandom post.
i've only seen the first episode of the wizards of waverly place sequel (wizards beyond waverly place) but i have thoughts. the basic premise of the show is that justin russo has settled down with a non-wizarding wife (giada), has two kids, and has become an ordinary middle school teacher after being fired from wiztech. his life is upturned when his sister, alex, drops round with a delinquent young girl named billy who needs help learning magic—and, oh yeah, she's supposedly part of some big prophecy to save the world.
so far, all i've seen is criticism of the characters and the show in general, but i think a lot of it is unfair. i'll concede that replicating the character dynamics from the original show (with giada as theresa, justin as jerry, billy as alex, roman as justin, milo as max, etc) was a bad move, but justin's character in particular has received a lot of flack that i, personally, find unreasonable.
people say that justin wouldn't dare give up being a wizard; that the trajectory of his life makes no sense given his love of magic. but life doesn't always work out the way we imagine, even with meticulous planning and preparedness. we can't forget that justin's own father was very much the same; that jerry was a very skilled wizard who loved magic and could never imagine giving it up. given that, i think it makes sense for justin's character to settle down with a non-magical wife and become a school principal. he held on to magic the longest of the three siblings because he defined himself by his skill with it, but he learned, as he aged, that magic wasn't everything.
besides, seeing justin lose his magical lifestyle as his ages only to reclaim it again at the start of this series is a great, if obvious, analogy for what happens to most of us as we age. even those who hold on tightest to their younger years can find themselves losing the the magic felt in childhood; we have to reach out and take it back for ourselves. children are sometimes the best ones at showing us what we have lost, hence: justin teaches magical children and in doing so rediscovers his own magic.
(side note: being a middle school principal suits him for obvious reasons: his love of learning, love of rules, love of wonder. the whole "being fired from wiztech because of an incident with a unicorn" also makes sense to me because, as much as alex learned from him, he learned from alex, too.)
i have nothing to say about alex's character because selena gomez came back and fucking crushed it. the biggest problem is the delivery of the prophecy: she just drops it like "hey billy's the only one who can save the world" and then leaves. now, do i think this is bad writing? yes. but i also think it would make sense if this was utter bullshit; if alex only said this to justin to ensure he really, truly enveloped himself back into the magical world because she knows just how much he misses it. (it's just a prank, bro!)
what would i have changed? i'd probably have made it so that alex had a kid like justin, and justin had a kid like alex. i would not give justin two boys as i don't think that does anything for his character. i would include both jerry and harper, as their actors have a goddamn podcast about the show and deserve to be included. (not to mention how jerry's character, in mirroring justin's, could be very informative for the whole plot.) also, justin's wife? she's fine, but please at least address what happened to juliet. was it the whole "i'm a vampire and i don't grow old but you do" thing? because that only adds to the reasoning behind justin giving up his magical lifestyle.
(also, and this is a tiny thing, but people are wondering how justin the principal and his investigative reporter wife can afford their house? and, HELLO, we get told that max is now a billionaire—thanks to his sandwich enterprise, i think. he would've totally bought them a house after giada convinced justin to accept it.)

2nd Ultimate Incest Tournament - Round 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Propaganda under the cut:
Anna/Elsa:
THE juggernaut Frozen ship, and I will never forget our glory days!! Anna's act of true love canonically saving Elsa, and then them having a bunch of children from Elsa's sneezes in the Frozen short… Iconic. They will ALWAYS be the most important thing in each other's lives (remember the time Kristoff was trying to propose to Anna, and she was like "Hmm did you see how Elsa was acting weird? I need to go investigate")
Staple for the incest and yuri fandom of the 2010s. Ridiculously romantic storyline of having the kind of true love that's stuff of legends, capable of trumping fear and breaking curses. They are willing to sacrifice anything for each other and we even have a dumbfounded person looking at how beautiful the other is atop of the stairs. Olaf is their baby I guess.
In their attempt to pander to homophobic fans and make a movie about sisterly love instead of lesbians, Disney accidentally made the most beautiful incestuous love story of all time. I just KNOW they were fantasizing about each other while Elsa was locked in her room for all those years. Yes, it's supposed to be a family-friendly princess movie. True sickos know that that's the point.
Elsa and Anna. Two sisters who are separated for thirteen years and yet those thirteen years only entangle them deeper – Anna haunting Elsa because Elsa will not let herself forget the night of the accident, holding Anna close as a child and sobbing… Elsa’s whole life after that moment defined by that moment, defined by protecting Anna and keeping her distance from Anna while yearning to be near to her as the years go by… Elsa sacrificing her everything in the desperate hope that Anna will be safe… If “love is putting someone else’s needs before yours,” then Elsa does that over and over for thirteen years even as she suffers from wanting all the time to be with her sister… – Elsa haunting Anna because Anna is separated from her sister but does not know why, separated from her sister but longing for her sister – and to both of them, the thought of the other becomes something to worship – until Anna gives her life to throw herself before Elsa and stop the falling sword – until Elsa can finally, finally touch Anna again but now Anna is frozen to solid ice, so the only thing Elsa can touch is the reminder that she killed the person she loves most in this world. And then Anna thaws and they cling to each other, united by love – by a desperate, all-consuming, true love that thaws Arendelle around them – and they still carry the thousand wounds from their childhood but they have each other, they love each other, they are in each other’s arms.
I cannot stress enough how intense the film’s focus on touch makes things for incest shippers. Not only are the sister’s separated, but Elsa cannot touch Anna skin to skin, must always wear the gloves, must always keep a barrier between herself and the one she most longs to hold, to touch. Imagine the exhilaration of that first embrace on the fjord. Being able to touch without fear for the first time in years. Imagine the relief.
I also want to cite this, from an anonymous submission to a headcanon blog:
"However, since protecting Anna also required her to stay away from Anna at all times, Anna became sacred, in a sense: something fragile and special to be watched over but never touched or spoken to. She would come to love Anna in much the same way people come to love religious icons: Anna had always been there and had never been there. She loved Elsa and did not know Elsa. She was warm and kind and dedicated and was under no circumstances to be tainted with Elsa’s presence unless she kept the tightest possible control over herself."
That fear of destroying Anna, of corrupting Anna by touching her, of letting loose the repressed part of herself - all of it comes together so exquisitely for an incest ship.
And after they rediscover each other, in Frozen 2? Their bond remains just as intense. The last word on Elsa’s lips before freezing is Anna’s name. Anna, when she realizes Elsa’s “death,” sings a heartbreaking song that includes the lyrics:
“I can't find my direction, I'm all alone The only star that guided me was you How to rise from the floor When it's not you I'm rising for?”
Their pain is born of their love, and their love for each other drives them both forward.
Alex/Justin:
I refuse to believe I was the only child all over this. The WOWP movie had so many romantic undertones I almost felt like I had watch away from my family lol
They are bickering siblings who can't live without each other and regularly perform grand gestures for each other, even if it's just an underhanded eay to get the other's attention or be all up in their business. Alex has every reason to be absolute confident of her brother's love and fussiness towards her because she could literally do anything to him (and she does) and he would still be sure to stick around for more 💀 She might actually die if a day goes by without picking on him too
The Wizards movie…holy shit. Justin is forgetting Alex but is still devoted to her to a fault. "I'll never leave you." Offering his flannel shirt around a fire bc Alex is cold? Romantic as fuck

So I found out that Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place has a sequel series. I’m referring of course to Wizards Beyond Waverly Place, a time skip forward by I think 16 years since Justin was graduating High School at the end of the first series and is 34 in this series but that’s me getting off track. I only found out about because I had the urge to watch the Disney Doctor Who season.
First, good to see David Henrie (Justin Russo) taking on basically the role that David DeLuise (Jerry Russo AKA the Dad) was for the course of the show. And the drama that Justin hasn’t actually told his family about the wizarding world because he’s embarrassed of his failures is really believable, especially given Justin’s character.
Here are some things that I’m looking forwards to or noticed about the show just from the first two episodes.
1. At least one cameo from Jake T. Austin reprising his role as Max Russo. Maybe to come spoil his favorite (and only) nephews in the family since he makes mad bank now. I imagine his ‘To the Max!’ Sandwich finally got the endorsement of being the official sandwich of the New York Mets.
2. Alex Russo (Selena Gomez) bringing up the whole ‘end of the world prophecy’ being a very real possibility and Billie (played by young Janice LeAnn Brown) who is a young menace but also the only one who can stop it is believable for the canon of the series. What really is amazing is the character development we can see happened while the show had that gap with Alex not even begrudgingly saying that Justin is the ‘best wizard she knows’ and how she genuinely cares about her big brother. I mean she cared a lot back in the first series sure, but she was much more than willing to drive her bro crazy before helping him.
3. Justin… can use magic??? I thought there was a system in place that if you want to marry a mortal, you have to give up your ability to use magic. Was this a side effect of him getting his power from… was it Professor Krümel? That would be the only way I could understand it working out and I hope a later episode goes into details because why can he use magic is a pretty big… wait… why can’t his kids use magic?
Okay forget the list let’s talk about this plot hole… so all three Justin, Alex and Max had access to magic, and that was after their dad Jerry married Theresa (Maria Canals-Barrera). Even if we assume that having even one wizard be born from a no-longer-wizard is incredibly low chance, they had three kids who all were wizards, so some sort of genetic disposition towards wizardry must exist in their bloodline even stronger than any other. Was there something in Justin getting his powers back after the contest that kept his kids from being able to do magic? Did Roman (Alkaio Thiele) have to wear a stupid hat without understanding why? Can they do magic but Justin just refuses to teach them, or more curiously… is Justin the actual father of Roman and Milo (Max Matenko) or is he their step father but they don’t have much memory of their real dad?
Oooh… this is getting much more interesting… after all, for everyone who knows this show good and well, we all know that-
Everything is not what it seems~

I haven't seen the new show yet and admittedly haven't even rewatched the original WOWP in years, but for some reason I keep thinking about this show again today and the systems that are in place in the wizarding world. Like one of the most important aspects of the show is the family competition and how only one kid in the family can keep their magical powers after a certain age. And like that's a really cruel thing to do to someone. Imagine having something as a kid, for the first 18 or more years of your life, which helps you immensely. You take weekly, maybe even more frequent, classes on how to do different spells, potions, learn about other magical creatures, etc. And then one day that just gets taken away from you and you have none of that now. From what I remember, it was instantaneous as well. Stevie tried to protest this ridiculous law and she staright up got killed for it even though she was right? Anyway I think that, after Stevies death, the show should've gone in a slightly different direction. Alex hears Stevies plan and agrees that having your powers taken away from all except one kid in the family is ridiculous. But maybe she isn't yet fully on board with Stevies plan. After all, if you've lived your entire life in a specific system, it might be hard to just immediately feel like it's the wrong one. So Stevie is still stopped and dies. But maybe this has Alex starting to wonder a little bit more about the family competition and what happens to the people who lose. And then happens the whole bullshit thing where the wizarding world straight up puts the Russo family in the middle of nowhere, forces them to escape without their magic powers and literally walk all the way home. And they're told it was all "a test" to make sure they don't expose magic. I think after that not just Alex, but everyone else in that family should've started realising that maybe the wizarding world has some major problems. After this, the Russo family, but specifically Alex, Justin and Max try to make some little changes to the system. Especially with someone like Justin, I think the wizards in charge would've at least heard them out. Maybe they'd bring stories of wizards who lost their powers. Or they'd bring up Stevie and how, again, she died because of the family wizard rule. And maybe the wizarding council agrees to look into it. And slowly there's some changes made, none huge ones right away, but at least some more help for people who lose the competition. And gradually it starts changing more and more as more people speak up. From a kids show perspective, this would also be good as it would show kids that the authority figures aren't always right and that you can make a difference in the world, if you put the effort in. In case anyone wants to say that disney wouldn't do that and wouldn't want to challenge authority, in the lemonade mouth movie, that's literally what happens. The authority there is the school principal instead of the wizarding world government, but still. I think its good to teach kids that adult and those in charge can be wrong too and that, just because something is the law, doesn't mean its right. Anyway idk why I'm having strong feelings now over a show I watched as a child, but whatever

Now thanks to THIS post I can’t get out of my head that Ashley Graves & Alex Russo would absolutely be besties with a simillar dynamic to Alex & Stevie. I don’t think Justin & Andrew would get along at first, Justin would not approve of Andrew’s whole Grunge / emo thing but then he’d learn that Andrew has a nerdy side & also they’d also bond over having insane / bratty / needy / “evil” little sisters that they never the less care about lol
Also I think Andrew & Ashley would be perplexed by Max but Ashley would find him funny & become friends with him. Harper I’m pretty sure (no, I know) would HATE Ashley & that might be an issue because Harper ending up in the Waverly Substation freezer with the meat miiiight but a damper on the Ashley / Alex budding friendship.
If that somehow didn’t happen though, or if Alex didn’t find out right away if it it did, I imagine Alex & Ashley would bond over having powers they aren’t always responsible with & that can be overwhelming at times & they might even have some actually touching moments. I just know Alex would understand Ashley after learning about the demon saying she has a tarred soul & that Ashley would feel for all the times Alex has almost destroyed the world. Disaster girlfailures bonding is what I’m getting at.

Stanley gives off Alex Russo vibes and Ford gives off Justin vibes and tbh it fits
It really does I'm just imagining teen Stanley falling for a werewolf person who he has to break up with bc Ford fell for a vamp who's the ex of the werewolf and there's bad history 🙃 (like in the show)

Scrolling around through someone's Tumblr and I remember... The TV show Wizards of Waverly Place takes place in Greenwich Village. And Alex Russo is nearly explicitly shown to have interest in girls as well as boys (she was supposed to date Haley Kiyoko's character, but Disney execs shot it down. Learning that certainly explained a lot of the vibes because they got as close as they could to saying Alex is bi without actually saying it.)
So like... I'm imagining in 2015 Alex is watching Agent Carter, and having learned some more about LGBTQ history because of where her family lives, because she's bi, and because Justin is a huge nerd (honestly he'd be so weirdly supportive, Max would just shrug and NBD, but Justin keeps coming up to her with random historical tidbits about Greenwich Village that she just accepts as him being his kind of weird ally), and she just YELLS at the TV when Peggy basically says, on accident in the 40s, that she basically was tripping along 21 Gay Street. Just yells at the TV "You unless British bisexual!" And Harper doesn't say anything until she's cursing in Italian and Spanish and it's just "Language! I'm trying to watch the show."

a very completely and random thought i had minutes ago when a specific tiktok video appeared in my fyp was, if the avengers can hardly handle peter parker, [although i am still delulu and wished peter was andrew's tasm one] then imagine if the group consisted of chase davenport, justin russo AND sam winchester. two guys too smart for their own good, a not-so-okay hunter young adult and a chaotic elder-brother wizard. and if we add leo, bree and adam as well as gwen, max and alex to the madness?
they can't handle the power of millenial children.

duncney week day 5: movie scene
court is elizabeth swann. dunc is will turner. 'nuff said.
duncney song of the day: 'hounds of love,' kate bush
also on my ao3!
There was a time when Courtney Reyes was afraid of the ocean.
Ironic, for the daughter of the governor of an island port, but her mother had been lost at sea when Courtney was only seven. The thought of the mammoth waves, the unfathomable deep, the vicious pirates - it all terrified her. When she was forced to travel by ship, she would cling to the rigging for dear life, knuckles whitening even in the calmest of waters. Her father would look on and sigh, but what could he do?
At thirteen, Courtney wised up. With a good slap or two to the face and a very stern talking to herself, her fear of the water vanished practically overnight. If anything, she now yearned to explore the ocean, sail around it with a ship and a crew of her own.
But young ladies weren't pirates. They couldn't even be sea captains. Courtney would marry a rich man - most likely, Captain Justin - and birth him many, many children. And that would be that, she knew, as she'd known all her life.
Until she found the boy in the water, and the golden chain around his neck, and the secrets that came with it. Until they hauled a nearly-drowned Duncan Russo aboard their ship, and his blue eyes flew open with a gasp and a cough, and Courtney grasped his hand, tightly, and told him he was safe now, and the ink-dark ghost of the dreaded Black Pearl sailed away as softly as a whisper.
Silent as a shadow.
It's her wedding day today.
She is anything but happy about it.
After finally getting to sail the high seas (though mostly at swordpoint from a group of undead pirates) and have a crew of her own, after surviving the Ship of Hell and her first sea battle and being marooned on a rum-soaked island with the most infuriating buccaneer known to history, it had all slipped away from her. She'd had it, and then she'd lost it, back to the port life, back to the corsets and parasols and upstanding Commodores. The only reason Duncan isn't being hanged for piracy is because Courtney had literally begged on her hands and knees for her father to show mercy to the man who'd saved her life more times than she could count.
And today, she is marrying the Commodore. Who - supposedly - loves her. For her eyes. For her smile. The freckles on the bridge of her nose.
All Courtney sees when she looks in her mirror is the face of a coward, pale and peaky and unhappy.
"That Commodore Justin is simply gorgeous," gushes her maid Sadie as she pulls the laces on Courtney's corset tighter than a vice. "Pardon my saying so, ma'am, but I wish I were the one marrying him!"
Courtney smiles, forces a laugh. Inside, she's thinking, Me too.
An outdoor wedding - damn the Caribbean climate, dictating every ceremony be performed outside. It's humid. She's already begun to sweat beneath her underarms. But, she supposes, a chapel would be far too stuffy.
She keeps imagining that he'll come for her. Leave the blacksmithing behind and sweep her off her feet at the last moment, commandeer a ship and sail them out of here. But the guards will be on the lookout for him, Courtney knows. She may have spared him from death, but his offenses (of which there are many) have not been overlooked.
Her father beams proudly, offering his arm. The music plays. At the end of the courtyard, there he stands, skin perfect, medals gleaming on his chest. The walk down the aisle isn't short, but it feels even longer now, slow-going like she's being led through molasses. Anything, Courtney prays, as the eyes of every nobleman and lady on the island follow her queasy bridal procession. A hurricane, cannon-fire, the return of the skeletal crew of the Black Pearl, so long as it will save me from a housewife's existence.
It's almost like she blinks, and she's there, up at the altar, the Commodore lifting her veil to smile his too-even smile at her. The priest is beginning the ceremony, but Courtney can't hear a word. She's trapped, frozen in time. Somewhere nearby, she thinks she hears a parrot's squawk.
"Ms. Reyes?"
Oh, God, Justin's already said his vows and now it's my turn. "Yes, Father. Sorry, Father."
"Do you take this man to be your lawful wedded husband, under the eyes of the Lord in Heaven, faithful and true so long as you both shall live?"
Courtney swallows. This is it, then. "I - I d - "
Then, quite a few things happen all at once. The parrot swoops down and flaps its wings in the priest's face, causing the old man to splutter and flail. The shouts of soldiers sound from the parapets, confused and alarmed. Someone, somewhere in the crowd, screams bloody murder. And from out of nowhere, a man appears, wrenches Courtney behind him, and draws his sword.
"I'm sorry to interrupt the ceremony," says Duncan, brandishing his weapon. "But I can't let this go on."
"Cutting it kind of close, don't you think?" Courtney mutters, but God, she's never felt more relieved.
"What - What is - " Justin pulls his own sword from his belt, waving it about foppishly. "You keep away from my wife, Russo!"
"She's not your wife yet." Duncan glances over his shoulder at her, blue eyes sparkling. "Princess? What do you say?"
Courtney straightens her spine. She looks to her father. To the sea of faces in front of her. To the Commodore.
Finally, she looks toward the back, where the parrot lights on DJ's shoulder, the rest of the crew standing ready behind him.
"Commodore Justin," she says, loudly, so everyone can hear. "You have been...You have been good to me."
She steps forward, slipping her hand into Duncan's. "But I won't deny myself my happiness any longer."
"You - !" Justin fumes. "You can't be serious! With a respectable man, I would understand, but him? He's nothing but a bloody blacksmith!"
"No," Courtney says, and she looks at him. "He's a pirate."
"Governor Reyes, do something!" Justin demands. Courtney's father blanches, clears his throat. And asks,
"So...This is where your heart truly lies?"
She holds her chin high. "Yes."
"Then..." Her father swallows, lips twisted in a cross between a grimace and a smile. "Then I suppose I give you my blessing."
"Governor - "
"I won't hear another word, Commodore," he says, and Courtney's chest soars.
She turns to the man beside her. "What's your plan of action, then?"
Duncan grins. Jerks his head in the direction of the harbor. "What do you think, Princess?"
"How many times do I have to ask you not to call me that?" she asks, unable to stop the smile from spreading across her face.
"Once more, darling," he tells her, that same look in his eyes from way back when, when he'd awoken to Courtney standing above him on the deck. "One more time."
She kisses him, instead, irritated and wanting, for the first time in almost a decade of knowing one another. As his arms wrap around her and he lifts her into the air, she tastes the sea.

Imagine being in love with Justin but feeling heartbroken when you see that he is in love with Juliet
——— Requested by anonymous  ———
It sounds like such a cliche but you wished Juliet could give you a reason to dislike her. Even if it was something small that could perhaps maybe justify the way you felt when you saw how close she and Justin were becoming. But you couldn't blame her for how she was feeling no matter how much your heart wanted to. She was sweet, hardworking, kind, and beautiful. Juliet van Heusen was probably the most perfect person you had ever met and it was no wonder Justin seemed to have heart eyes whenever he saw her.
But as much as you were happy that Justin seemed to have found someone who made him happy, it made you sad that you couldn't be that person. Ever since the two of you met at WizTech, the two of you became close due to your shared love of reading and knowledge. Though the two began spending more time together due to study groups and shared classes, your feelings turned from being platonic to romantic. But you could never find the courage to act upon them or even to tell him about them. Too afraid that they would somehow ruin the friendship the two of you had, you just kept quiet and hoped that somehow he felt the same and would make the first move.
But your decision to stay silent seemed to come back to haunt you when you found it from Max that Justin was dating someone. And even though it caused your heart to ache and made you want to cry your eyes out, you put on a smile when Justin came over to introduce you to Juliet.
"[Name], this is Juliet. She's my girlfriend."

Third Chance (Justin Russo X Reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: So I know I should be finishing requests but I’m hyperfixating hard on Wizards of Waverly Place rn and this happened. Not sure if I should apologize for this but here you go. Btw, I will gladly write for Justin again if you all want me to. Okay. Enjoy!
Justin should’ve known this was a doomed mission from the start, he should’ve just kept his nose out of it. Left it alone. But no, the idea of solving something no one else had appealed way too much to the young wizard and he had decided to take it on.
“Bet you feel stupid now, Russo.”
“It doesn’t matter how I feel, you’re going to let (Y/n), Alex and Max go.” Justin knew he wasn’t really in a place to make demands, especially with a wizard with clearly more power than he alone had. But he didn’t care, he had to guarantee the safety of those he loved.
“And why would I do that? This was part of my plan all along.” He grinned, cheekily crossing his arms over his chest. Justin hated that smug look.
Of course, all of it was his plan. Releasing monsters to pique Justin’s interest but of course, he knew Justin would never monster hunt alone, not after that one time he almost got attacked by a bunch of monsters before Alex swooped in to save him. He shuddered at the thought.
“You’ll do what I say, Justin or you can kiss any chance you have of seeing the others again goodbye.”
Justin looked up, there was no other option. He was going to aid in the demise of the Wizarding World or risk losing you and his siblings forever. He hated that it’d come to this, but there really wasn’t anything else he could do.
“I need my wand.” He stood, holding out his arms to his captor so he could remove the shackles he’d put there. With a wave of his hand, the shackles disappeared, and the wizard handed Justin his wand. He eyed Justin warily as he handed the wand over, probably expecting him to do some last-ditch effort to escape.
Justin wasn’t stupid. There were lives he loved on the line; he wasn’t going to flirt with the chance that this jerk wouldn’t hurt them if he did try to make a break for it.
“Justin! You can’t be serious- “He turned to see his siblings and you being shoved into the room by some monster minion. Of course, this freak would make his loved one’s to watch. He ignored Alex’s voice yelling at him to stop, he held out his wand-
“Justin. Please.” You had stepped forward to place your still shackled hand on his shoulder. Why didn’t you understand he was doing this for you? He’d already lost love too many times, Juliet, Rosie… He wasn’t going to give up his third chance. He shrugged you off, opening his mouth to cast the spell.
Before he could even say it, Alex, tired of yelling and being ignored pushed herself forward. She rammed right into Justin, knocking him onto the ground and sending his wand flying.
“I caught it!” You called, immediately working on getting yourself and Max free before the bad wizard realized what was going on.
Alex rolled off of her brother and Justin sat up, just in time to see you get grabbed by one of the monsters.
“(Y/n)! Throw me the wand!” He held his hand out. You tossed the wand through the air and Justin caught it, before it was even in his hand, he was already saying a spell to get the monster off of you.
“Knock, Knock, please remove the lock!” He waved his wand again, removing the chains from you, Max and Alex. Max let out a sigh of relief.
“Thanks, bro. My wrists were chafing.” He grinned as he walked over to Justin, just narrowly missing a monster reaching for him. Justin rolled his eyes, grabbing his brother by the arm and turned to look for you and Alex.
Even without wands, you both were doing really well for yourselves. He was a little surprised you could even fight, but before he could really dwell on the thought, his former captor was grabbing his arm, desperately trying to wrench his wand from his hand.
Justin kneed him, sending him flying to the floor.
“Justin…” The man on the floor held his hands up as though surrendering and Justin snorted in disgust.
“I’ll leave Professor Crumbs to deal with you.” He waved his wand, placing the same shackles onto the wizard’s wrists. The monsters, realizing their master was losing slowly began retreating. You left Alex to deal with the last stragglers, racing to wrap your arms around your boyfriend’s middle.
“Were you really going to do what he wanted if Alex hadn’t stopped you?” You asked as Max walked over to join his older sister. Justin’s face heated up slightly. Of course. He’d do anything to keep the three of you safe. That was his job.
“Yeah… Yeah I was. It was a small price to pay for you guys’ safety. If there was any other way, I would’ve taken the opportunity, but I wasn’t going to risk losing again.”
You knew what he was talking about, of course. You knew you weren’t the first person to fall for Justin’s dorky, adorable personality. But as far as you knew, you were the only one who hadn’t had to leave for one reason or another.
“Can we go now? I have a sandwich on the barbecue.” Max crossed his arms. Alex shoved him slightly and rolled her eyes.
“We’ll meet you guys back home.” She held up her wand which she must’ve somehow stolen back and grabbed Max’s arm, waving it and disappearing in a flash of light. You and Justin watched them go then turned back to each other.
“I’m not going anywhere, Justin.”
“They never leave by choice, (Y/n).” He mumbled, looking down at the floor and you rolled your eyes affectionately.
“Justin. When are you going to start trusting me? I know love is a sore subject for you, but I’m not a vampire. I’m not an angel. I’m a wizard, just like you. I’m not going anywhere unless you want me to.” You slid your finger underneath his chin raising his head to look at you.
Justin stared at you for a long moment, before pulling you into a hug. He pulled back slightly from the hug after a moment, kissing you softly. You held onto his shoulders and leaned into the kiss.
“Let’s get out of here…” He mumbled, pressing his forehead to yours.
“Good. Because this place gives me the creeps.” You smiled softly.
He chuckled, raising his wand into the air to flash them both home. You rested your head on his shoulder as the world shifted around you.
When it came to Justin, he’d always be insecure. He’d been hurt badly twice; the world was kind of cruel to him. But you weren’t going to give up. You’d stick it out and guide him in the right direction. He deserved a chance at happiness.

Quiproquo - Alex Russo x F!Reader
Tumblr media
Alex gives out a smile as she steps of the stairs into the substation, her feet already taking her towards the kitchen. She notices Justin standing behind the cash register, his eyes glued to the entrance door like something extraordinary is about to happen.
“Hey, Justin.”
He barely nods to signify that he heard her. “Hm.”
She stops in her tracks just as she’s about to get into the lair, her brother’s answer making her curious as to what he’s doing, and so she turns around and walks back out to send him a smirk. “What are you doing?”
“Huh?” He blinks multiple times before he looks at her, his cheeks warming up when he realizes what she asked him. “N-nothing. Just working. Making… sandwiches.”
“But you’re not making sandwiches.” Alex quirks an eyebrow, internally jubilating. “You’re staring at the door like an eager puppy.”
“I…” He starts playing with the cash register, pushing random buttons while he mumbles. “... stare at doors like that all the time, I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
She waits for a few seconds then slowly approaches her face to his ear.
“Is it a girl?” He jumps away in total fear at the sound of her voice so close, a loud laugh escaping her throat upon seeing his reaction. “You’re such a scaredy-cat! Hahaha… but seriously though, who’s the girl?”
He stays silent for a few seconds, then gives out a giggle and a grin. “(Y/F/N) (Y/L/N).”
“(Y/N)?” She quirks an eyebrow in disbelief. “Why would (Y/N) come here?”
“Good thing you asked.” He raises a finger, his grin turning to a smug. “She’s been coming here every single day for the past week, always chatting me up. I think she has a crush on me.”
Alex opens her mouth in a teasing smile. “Her? Liking ‘you’?”
“Yes.” He frowns and gives her an annoyed look. “Girls can like me, Alex. It happened before and it will happen again.”
“Well, I find that hard to believe… considering that she’s probably coming here to make fun of your face.” She snorts at his clear frustration, the wizard girl walking towards the lair soon after. “Good luck with your ‘imaginary’ love story!”
“You just don’t like the idea of anything good happening to me!”
“Um… Justin?” He yelps and rapidly turns around when he sees you standing on the other of the counter, a confused quirked eyebrow sent to him. “Is everything okay?”
“Y-yeah…!” He gives out a giggle and puts his elbow on the counter, though he misses it and almost punches himself in the face as a result. “I… I’m great! Awesome! Totally cool!”
You give out a snort. “Okay.”
He seems to calm down when he notices that you’re not weirded out by his weird behavior, a shy chuckle escaping his throat as he puts his hands on the cash register. “How can I help you today?”
“Actually…” You seem to be jumping one foot to the other, looking rather nervous. “I wanted to ask you something.”
His eyes widen. This is it. The moment he has been waiting for all week!
“Um… yeah, yeah, sure!” He gives you a small smile to try and ease things for you. “Go ahead. I’m all ears.”
You look down with heavy breathing, already playing with your fingers nervously as your cheeks get redder by the minute. “I-I… I wanted to know…”
“... Yes?”
“... is your sister single?”
He blinks a few times in shock, not quite sure he heard you correctly. “Huh?”
“Sorry…” You look away with a shameful look, already trying to walk away. “That was inappropriate, I’m… I’m just gonna go.”
“Wait!” His voice stops you in your tracks, curiosity settling on his features as you look back at him. “Why do you wanna know?”
---------------------
Justin walks into the lair a few minutes later with a large grin on his face, the oldest sibling handing Alex a piece of paper. She looks up from the spellbook she’s been studying for the last few minutes, a confused look on her face as she takes it.
“What’s that?”
“Oh, nothing.” Alex lets her eyes skimmer down the piece of paper, Justin wiping non-existent dirt on his shirt. “Just (Y/N)’s phone number.”
Alex’s eyes widen, a legitimately shocked smile coming to her lips as she looks at him. “You got her phone number?”
“No.” He points at her, still grinning. “I got you her phone number.”
She blinks multiple times, confusion taking over yet again. “Huh?”
“And you should call her soon.” He steps away towards the exit, sending his sister a wink and finger guns. “Because she wants to go on a date.”
“Wait, what?” Alex’s voice rises just as he disappears behind the door. “Justin-Justin!”
She doesn’t get any response. She looks down at the piece of paper, your phone number staring back at her, and she can’t help but let out a genuine smile.
It looks like she’s gonna go on a date soon.
