Snow White is already strong - she is an epitome of Silk Hiding Steel and that kindness triumphs over hatred any day

She soon has EVERYONE around her fighting for her name against Grimmhilde, and Grimmhilde soon has EVERYONE around her turning against her. Why?

Because Snow White is kind, caring and brave who definitely deserves better, and Grimmhilde is narcissistic , psychopathic and evil whom no one owes an apology.

FYI Grimmhilde is literally willing to execute ENTIRE FAMILIES for Snow's old friends tryna secretly help her ( and I mean INCLUDING THE KIDS AND BABIES OF THOSE FAMILIES ). Luckily they all escaped with help from the jail keepers and several of the courtiers who are turning against Grimmhilde anyway.

Snow White is a Silk hiding steel character who chose a more ' traditionalistic ' path, and that's perfectly okay

Cinderella is gentle and caring with a strong sense of justice. She isn't one who wields a sword in battle, and that's perfectly okay

Aurora is dreamy and creative who dreams of true love and loves anything mystical related, and that's perfectly okay

Another main problem with the Snow White remake is the ' woke girlboss ' in that remake, like ' woke girlbossified ' characters, pretty much puts down a bunch of other types of strong female characters. There are so many types of strength - we get badass cinnamon rolls like Cosette from Les Mis, to well written warrior ladies like Sif, Mulan and Brunnhilde.

Cosette in the BBC Les Mis series and Cleopatra VII in Netflix Cleo trash are also sadly amongst epitomes of Silk Hiding Steel who also got destroyed in those adaptations of their stories mentioned above and ' woke girlbossify ' them. Cosette in the BBC Les Mis series became a vapid spoiled brat, and Cleo VII in the Netflix Cleo trash becomes an ' Amazon Warrior woke girlboss '

Cosette actually is a sweetheart and a badass cinnamon roll who literally is an embodiment of hope and love, and literally a reason why a number of people around her found hope to keep going.

And Cleopatra VII actually is an epitome of dark femme energy and silk hiding steel. She is generally calm, elegant, majestic, strategic, charming and manipulative. Cleopatra VII is very girly and loves beautiful dresses and fancy baths yet also TOUGH AF. Cleopatra VII isn't an Amazon Warrior and that is perfectly okay.

Look, I love girlbosses, and I support female empowerment and equality. But srsly there are so many forms of strength - not just sword wielding warriors.

And I find the ' woke girlbosses ' to be cringy and one dimensional. The well written girlbosses ( like the March Sisters, and Christine Daae etc ) are multi layered, human and shows strength in multiple ways.

And please, to SOME PEOPLE, STOP ELEVATING ONE TYPE OF STRENGTH WHILE PUTTING DOWN OTHER FORMS OF STRENGTH

And I CANNOT abide Zegler for dissing Walt over HIS FIRST EVER MOVIE. The honor of the first ever animated movie goes to Fantasmagorie, YET ONE CANT DENY THAT SNOW WHITE IS DISNEY'S FIRST EVER MOVIE, WHICH PAVED WAY TO SO MANY OTHER DISNEY ANIMATED MOVIES AND SO MANY ANIMATED GENRES THAT CAME AFTER THAT MOVIE.

And Snow White is a HUGE FUCKING DEAL at those times. Walt gave his all into having that movie being made, and CROWDS have gone emotional watching that. Snow White movie has become a symbol of hope for Americans in general during the Great Depression and such, and the Snow White movie has become a huge juggernaut in the cinematic field

So Walt Disney, on behalf of all the Disney fans around the world, we are very sorry to see your first ever movie's legacy being destroyed like that. Just so you know, we still love the Disney animated Snow White masterpiece, and we will NEVER watch the Snow White remake

The absolute DISRESPECT for the FIRST ANIMATED MOVIE EVER MADE and its female character who was strong in her own way! The DISRESPECT for Snow White coming from people who plan to ”“"update”“” her story??? I’m FUMING. i am FURIOUS. This is the SAME shit I said about Girlboss Cinderella do you understand???

Snow White was an abused CHILD who was isolated within her castle and then suddenly thrown into the  woods and she managed to survive using only her hope and kindness!!! She found a house and offered to work to earn her keep and she DID!!! Snow does not have to be a badass to be a strong female character. And more importantly, SHE DOES NOT NEED TO BE “BADASS” TO DESERVE HER HAPPY ENDING. Some of us in abusive situations CANNOT escape on our own. We CANNOT physically fight back and WE STILL DESERVE HAPPY ENDINGS.

Women don’t have to be badasses in order to be strong female characters. So she needs to be saved– so WHAT? Saying Snow White is an antifeminist character solely because she doesn’t save herself is offensive to abuse survivors and to the original character who WAS a good character. You can criticize OTHER parts of the movie– the implication that men living without women will be useless and filthy the entire time, or we can discuss the Queen’s feud with Snow being fuelled by misogynist standards, etc.!! But just saying “she needs to be saved so it’s bad” LIKE. ARE YOU SERIOUS

Badass Snow White reboots are fine in moderation, but just like Girlboss Cinderella reboots, too many and it becomes clear what society is trying to say now- that if you’re feminine and can’t fight a battle, you don’t deserve to be saved. Do you see why this is a bad message????? Some girls are badasses who can kill and fight as well as or better than the boys. Those girls have Mulan, Merida, Raya, Moana, Rapunzel, Elsa. They are good female characters. But you know what? So is Snow White. So is Cinderella.

I’m sure people are going to accuse me of being antifeminist for saying “oh she NEEDS to be saved by a man”– I’m NOT SAYING THAT. You could have her be saved by a woman. Be saved by the dwarves, her platonic friends. By the animals. You could write a badass Snow White reboot without being disrespectful to the original film or tale. Just fucking TODAY I read the Disney Mirrorverse Snow White book– it’s written for 13yos basically so not high art but even with them having to make her an adaptational badass, they managed to keep her personality PERFECTLY. She learns how to save herself in this book, but also remains HERSELF. And her previous inability to fight was NOT CRITICIZED by any character; her sudden badassery was a bonus for her, not an indication of her character!!!

YOU are the ones saying that if Snow White (and Cinderella) isn’t saving herself, she doesn’t deserve to be saved. But everyone deserves happiness and that includes those too weak to fight for it alone.

What I loved about Cinderella's Castle is it is so entirely about Ella. We know starkid can handle a show with tons and tons of characters but I found it quite refreshing for it to be so wholly her story? I think it was a lovely choice for this show and man Bryce did such a perfect job of it, she is truly such a star

If you actually hate how Rachel Zegler disrespects the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually hate how Disney has turned the Lilo & Stitch live-action into a bad statement about race, do not go see or stream it.

If you actually believe that the original The Little Mermaid was perfect and needed no adjustments, and Eric was not a bland prince, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually thought that Emma Watson misread and mishandled the role of Belle, who, in the original, was expertly characterized, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the Genie wanted to be free, and Aladdin learned to trust, and Jasmine taught them both how, while the Live Action version ruined that, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the original Lion King movie was perfect and needed no bland NatGeoWild embellishment, do not go see or stream the remake.

If you actually believe that the Cinderella (2015) movie was a good remake, go out and buy the DVD—and then don’t go see and stream the other remakes.

Don’t do it. They don’t read our tumblr rants or watch our rage reels, but they count how many of us go see the new stuff. And they count our money as it goes into their bank account to fund the next one. And they count the time we spend on their streaming services. Teach them that we have standards, and the standards aren’t spectacle, and you can’t just buy us with soulless puppets of our favorite movies.

When you’re tempted to go hear the soundtrack play and listen to the dialogue you miss, just go watch the original. That’s what you really love.

#NotMyDisney alienated me with these last few movies, so I’m not playing the games anymore. Make movies for me, as if I’m the smart child you raised on good movies, or else I won’t go see them. If you guys want me, I’ll be waiting for the day that the Live Action Remake comes out, and then immediately streaming the original on Disney+.

Let ‘em measure how many seats are filled in their theaters, versus how many streams of the originals are playing on the same day.

The original Snow White is my all time fave Disney movie. I saw it in theater as a kid when they rereleased it. I hate when people who were born after 1985 take something made before the 21st century and apply a 21st century mindset to it. They talk like they want a Snow White who will make an impact as if she didn't make an impact in the original film. If you actually pay attention when watching the original movie you can see the impact that Snow White has on those around her.

I didn't realize how much I liked the OG Snow White until we got a VHS tape of a stage musical that was nearly scene to scene of the OG Snow White. I watched it over and over again with my younger cousins. It held us over until Disney finally released the original Snow White to VHS in 1994, when it broke records and sold 50 million copies worldwide. I ask again, why would current Disney think it's a swell idea to change Snow White so much in the live action remake?

Looking back I really liked how Snow White was mostly show not tell, which is the most important aspect of any movie. But a lot of movies nowadays are full of monologues of what a character needs to do and what's going on and how they're feeling instead of showing us and letting us discern for ourselves.

Snow White's value is timeless, that's why she's endured for so long because she resonates with people all over the political spectrum and why they badly reacted to Disney's remake of Snow White based on Rachel Zegler's words.  Snow White epitomizes values about hard work, not being entitled, and choosing a survivalist mentality instead of a victim "woe is me" mentality. Moreover, it is realistic to have hopes and dreams, but not at the expense of shirking your present responsibilities.  Her world was pulled out from under her and she lost everything she knew, but she got right back up.  Many adults have rent and bills to pay so they couldn't just wallow in their self pity and misery.  They have to go to work and carry on, just like Snow White did.

Snow White is relatable.  Many abuse victims grow up to be abusers at worst or assholes at best. Not their fault but still people like Snow white should be admired, she didn’t expect to receive refuge without earning a living. And Snow White helped the dwarves become better people, she even broke through Grumpy and won his affection.  The dwarves answered to NOBODY, and yet they had to answer to Snow White because they loved her, and then would kill for her by chasing the evil queen to her death.

Snow White is a great example of “the kindness you give to others comes back to you” i.e Snow White helps the baby blue bird find her parents, who then return with her parents to help Snow White. Often times the best indicator of strength isn't whether you reject your circumstances but how you choose to live with them.  Snow White (and Cinderella and Aurora) teaches lessons about emotional strength, optimism, and kindness. Not only are these important lessons, but they should be on par with the lessons that Mulan, Tiana, and Moana teach.   Kindness and optimism are just as important as bravery and leadership.

Femineity is not weak or bad, and masculinity isn't either.  Snow White was strong because she is feminine, not despite it. While it is important to show that women can have masculine traits, it is even more important to show that it is okay for women to have feminine traits.

Side note: The Disney renaissance in the '90s was shaped by a man for whom a large part of his identity was rejected by society, and he was unable to express it, which makes the Renaissance make sense for why there are so many stories about self discovery. But the older films were shaped by a man who had to work hard to keep his company afloat during extremely rough times (World War I and The Great Depression), so those stories featuring hard work and resilience make sense. Walt had said that Cinderella was his favorite heroine and the fairy godmother represented the "miracle" (through Snow White) that launch the company to success.

Ooo...more kids? Not their kids, their boy, but she knows what 'sneaking' is (considering how much sneaking they've been doing, since Speed got caught from the corner of an eye and yelled about), and these kids are definitely sneaking. No-one sneaks if they're meant to be there-

They're crowded, Silent still on that outstretched hand, so she quickly goes down to grab him and hoist him away from their grabby fingers. Just in case. She knows Silent doesn't like scrutiny, even from them, so these four are probably like being in the tube. A constant display you cannot escape.

She wants her boy out.

when i heard that a new snow white film is coming i was so happy and i wanted to see it...

Hollywood has done it for the thousand's time: Suggesting that the only woman who deserves to exist is :" the girl irritating boss " that no one relates to and very few women want to see...

Also suggesting that women who want love, marriage and babies are all stupid and weak ( that's more than 90% women on the planet)

These people are so Smart and so progressive😃

They find themselves entitled to tell all women how they should live their lives...

Snow white is known for her motherly instincts... for her innocence and pure heart... for her care and compassion towards others...

And for being positive and optimistic in extreamly difficult times...

Snow White is not Mulan

I usually don't like complaining about things I don't like, but this movie was a huge part of my childhood.

I'm honestly sick and tired of adaptions of Snow White changing the story and portraying her as a fighter. NO. This is not Snow White. She's a kind and meek princess who doesn't mind cooking and cleaning. She's not a freaking warrior. That's just disrespectful to her character and the source material.
