I can’t sleep. All I can think about is how I feel stuck. There’s something missing from my life. Maybe several things. I don’t know what to do.

i love dnd character creation so much. i love how my half orc warlock having weaver's tools became a big part of his backstory. i love how the purposefully 'edgy rogue' i was trying to make is a writer and has two levels in bard. i love getting to take the tiniest details and connect them together in whatever way you want. even if everyone used the exact same framework for character creation with zero homebrew or alterations to the source material, every single character would be different. and that's because people are different, and every person is creative in their own way, and no matter how hard you try to make a character who's just a stereotype or 'ripoff' of some other character you like, they'll still be special. because every character you create carries a piece of you with them.

I don't really think it's fair to dismiss the idea that that guy might have been framed for killing the CEO as like an unfounded conspiracy theory when NYPD has a proven history of planting/fabricating evidence on people. in 2011 there was a massive investigation of the NYPD and hundreds of cases against people were dismissed after a former police officer testified that they literally have a name for planting evidence on people: flaking. you cannot be out here acting like considering the possibility that cops who do this shit under normal circumstances might possibly also do it when they're under intense global pressure and scrutiny is the same as republicans thinking democrats run a secret pedophile ring in the basement of a pizza restaurant

The secret Dungeon Meshi sauce that's getting people to eat better is that it's so non-judgmental. Senshi and the rest of the gang never talk about what not to eat besides things that taste bad and literal poison. They don't even talk about "health" that much besides the importance of a balanced diet. It's so much easier to eat well when you think of food simply as something your body needs, and that it's often worth the extra effort to make it taste good, especially when you understand how to connect "things your body needs" with "things that taste good"

Please note. The orange one is not included because A. He isn’t a billionaire. And B. Calling him obnoxious is too kind for him.

alright, I’m annoyed with the class that I’m taking. it’s about writing novels, and I thought it would have cool stuff about balancing your narrative and developing themes etc, but instead she spent the first class talking about how every book fits into the Hero’s Journey (the monomyth template). and I was somewhat of a contrarian, and said “can you give us examples of books that don’t fit into this template?” and she said “no. because all books fit.”
but I dunno man, I just finished reading this Korean book where the plot is just the character having a string of hookups and reflecting on them without changing in any way. I don’t know if it’s possible to contort that into the Hero’s Journey.

After 4+ years of observing fandoms on here and Twitter, I think I've concluded what makes a person 'fandom popular':
Be as weird as possible about everything. Sound strange, spell your name in lowercase letters and emojis, be super sensitive and gatekeep anyone who interacts with you (because how dare anyone have opposing views?), etc etc...
You get it right? Being weird, strange, and more or less the hardest person to truly connect with because 1 word or response could trigger that person to forever block you basically gets you the most attention in most fandoms.
This doesn't just apply only to Twitter either. On here, unless you somehow have this magical fanfic writing gift when it comes to popular ships or can make incredible gifs, good luck trying to be 'popular'.
Maybe this isn't the case in every fandom, hopefully I'm right.
Basically, to sum it all up: If you're a normal person with an actual thick skin to others with opposing views, your chances of being 'fandom popular', even if you can make gifs or write good fics, are not too good. In fact, you may end up getting blocked a lot by the uber sensitive weird 'popular' types over the stupidest things a lot of the time and be wondering why the hell interactions as a whole on sites like these get lower and lower.

Disgust has absolutely no ethical weight. If you are basing your ethical positions on the emotion of disgust you should stop, it is entirely unjustified and leads to a huge amount of harm.
