Hmmm... very interesting to me that Taylor Swift is trending rn and yet for some reason no one in that tag is complaining that her trending is taking away from what's going on in Palestine and what's happening in Rafah. And yet for some reason, people couldn't seem to shut up in the Kendrick Lamar tag when he was trending about how the whole beef was just two celebrities beef (it's much deeper than that) and were making up theories abt how the whole thing was taking attention away from Palestine and everyone talking about it should feel ashamed of themselves (every single account I saw in that tag was posting about Palestine too).

And the thing that's really getting me is that Taylor is trending bc of a change to the Eras tour. An objectively unimportant change to make, especially when compared to what's going on in Rafah. But that's not what gets hate, no, it's the predator getting called out in an industry known for exploitation by one of the biggest artists in said industry. The racism isn't even implicit atp...

Edit: ok so just to clarify no this wasn't meant to insinuate that Taylor trending was some setup of Israel (that's just... like objectively wrong lmao), it was to point out that when it comes to a black artist in hip hop (a predominantly non-white genre) people wouldn't let fans of said genre just enjoy the music and shenanigans happening in that genre and that's it's hypocritical to act like people can't care abt two things at once, but they can enjoy their white "feminist icon" pop star (a much whiter genre) without anyone bringing hate into that tag. like i put in the tags, the anti taylor tag is for filtering bc i honestly don't see this post as particularly negative for taylor swift, it's a critique of the fans. and i'm calling out swifties particularly bc the ones who were saying that the beef was manufactured to take eyes off of rafah were swifties, and the ones being racist in the kendrick tag were swifties. i'm not exaggerating like almost every hate post i saw mentioning the beef being manufactured was a swiftie account. it is weird to act like people caring about very serious allegations happening in a genre of music isn't reason enough to make a big deal of the situation and go INTO THE TAG and complain, but it is especially hypocritical and frankly quite infuriating to see the same people who complained about a big deal of a situation being a "distraction" from gaza and then blog abt taylor swift . it's fine if u want to blog abt music u like, honestly idc abt that, if that's all u do then this legit isn't targeted at u, this is targeted at the swifties who came into the kendrick tag to complain and then went back to talking abt swift two seconds later like they weren't doing the same thing they were complaining abt two minutes before. I just block the tags and let people vibe with whatever the fuck they want to. Even in the ST fandom there’s characters and ships I don’t care for, but do I give a single fuck if people post about them? Hell no!! The features are free and easy to use, AND you don’t have to be a dick about it either!! Like did we forget this is a fictional universe full of fictional characters that is a tv show and not real life??? Did we forget that these characters have no actual impact on basically anything besides the way you choose to let your ideas of them affect you??

just saw an art from an artist who worked with sjm during acomaf, basically her work is the closestof the character's actual appearence, like, the anon who said sjm looked at natalie alyn lind for description, that is basically what happened, and in a cartoon style she made, lucien is kinda almost the same color as tamlin, and cassian and azriel are the same as rice.... it is all funny considering that in arts were they (except tamlin) are not "darker" some people complain about white washing...

also, gonna mention helion, bc he actually has a persian/iranian appearence, and there were people complaing with the official artist that she white washed him, in the official acotar coloring book... y'know, """"""""""""""""the official artist instead of drawning the character as my headcanon, no, she did as close as they are supposed be, that must be white washing!"""""""" like, people are so dumb

I hate when people hate on artists when they're just doing the best they can with the information given and what the author has said.

on that note, the issue comes down to what I call implied diversity. SJM almost never straight up says a character is a PoC, especially if they are a main character. She may describe someone's appearance one way, usually with flowery and ambiguous language then lets the fandom do the heavy lifting. She lets the fandom make the diversity.

Its why people attack artists for 'whitewashing' even if they are just doing their job. Because people read and interpret it how they like and canonize their perceptions. Its why there's so much skin color variation in Rhysand art (for example) ((it's also why there's so much discourse in this 'fandom' over characters in general but I digress))

Sjm is a bad author when it comes to writing diversity in her cast of characters, and when she tries its very halfhearted. People get their panties in a twist over everything in acotar. She fumbles writing cohesive characters (rhysand changing skin tones acotar-acomaf, tamlins whole character) but the majority of the 'fandom' can't handle discussion over that lmao.

anyway, kinda went off but yeah!! whitewashing is a serious issue when it comes to character art but it's a moot point in the acotar fandom because of sjm lmao.

I can't believe my first proper post is a rent post. But it's bugging me for the past two weeks so have it.

I don't like Atsuhina. Everytime I see this ship my chest hurts, like physically hurts. I know it's because KageHina is close to my heart. But everytime I try to imagine Atsumu and Hinata as couple there is this nagging gut-feeling that they would break-up at some point in the future. And I don't like seeing haikyuu characters in pain. I want to spare them the trouble and heartbreak because I think both of them deserves good time after time-skip.

And why every other Atsuhina fic have Kageyama as Hinata's ex. I don't read any Atsuhina fic but I know this is like a given for them. My people can you spare him. I don't think Kageyama is the kind of a person who would ever fall out of love. Tobio is someone who feels a lot and is sensitive to people around him. We do not see it at first time around because he doesn't understand social cues.

I've said this before and I will keep saying it Kageyama Tobio would love his partner like he loves volleyball, with devotion. His love would be all-consuming, everlasting and forever until the day he dies. You won't see it in his face but that how he is. As someone who has been abandon before he would never let go of something that gives him Joy and peace. At his core he is a person who feels deeply and loves too much.

This is why I don't like exes to lovers tropes. It doesn't make sense in his case because of the way he is. And Atsuhina fics where he is the ex l can only imagine how heartbreaking it would be to look at him. Cause he would never fall out of love with the first person he fell in love with. It's as much a curse as it is blessing. And we don't put much faith in Hinata's ability to understand Kags without him having to say anything. He's the ultimate Kageyama translator. And Kageyama also understand when Hinata is hiding something or being anxious. They have some kind of psychic connection. Yes, they would fight but it will be their silly little thing like they're always been. It would never be serious enough to break them apart. Not even distance would have an effect on them (👈 this is canon.)

I know what the solution is. To stop looking at Atsuhina fics. But I'm not actively looking at it. Everytime I try to look for other characters ship fics in haikyuu fandom Atsuhina is in the background. For the last few days I try looking up good Ushisaku fics (l got UshiSaku fever cause of that one panel of Sakusa seeing Ushijima folding his handkerchief with wet part inside and having fun while playing volleyball opposite him.) and there is Atsuhina in back. 😑

I know that might be cause Sakusa is paired with Ushijima in it, so that left the Atsumu alone in his fan-favourite ship which leaves only Hinata as other option. But I can't look at them without physically being ill. For me every other characters can swap places in ships but not KageHina. Their my ultimate ship, at the centre of haikyuu fandom.

(This sounds more like I'm trying to convince people to stop liking Atsuhina fics. But all I'm trying to say is stop putting Kageyama as his ex. It's seems too much like a mischaracterization. And put Atsuhina in tags so people who don't like it can avoid it. Put proper tag of Miya Atsumu x Hinata Shouyou and not bg!Atsuhina. I can't filter it if you put half-assed tags.) 😤

ultimately, i don't care if cwsg enjoyers only want to engage with the show's version of kara (+ other supporting characters) and aren't interested in engaging with the comics, but something that i find both annoying and funny is when something supergirl-related is announced and certain cwsg stans who refuse to learn anything about kara's comic canon (yet continue to engage with non-cwsg supergirl media...?) immediately say something along the lines of "i can't wait for when [insert cw supergirl specific character/relationship] appears in [insert upcoming dc media]!!"

it's equal parts funny and annoying to me because it's like. it's SO incredibly unlikely that you'll see any of those characters or relationships (at least those specific interpretations of them) again, and i don't know why you'd expect to...? it's 2024. at this point in time (especially in a post woman of tomorrow world) i really can't see dc intentionally incorporating anything significant from the show into either kara's comics or other media appearances.

everything from the show that has been incorporated into the comics is either not canon anymore/hasn't been mentioned since the beginning of infinite frontier (eliza/jeremiah, national city, kara's connection to the deo, cat working at catco and being kara's boss, "kara danvers" as kara's civilian name), or not even connected to comics!kara whatsoever (nia nal). i just think it's silly to automatically assume that any new piece of supergirl media will follow in the footsteps of a show that hardly ever engaged with supergirl lore/comics at all lmao.

possibly an unpopular opinion but i feel like sjm’s writing/plotting have gone downhill, which is disappointing bc i enjoyed tog so much. i actually did like the first 4 acotar books and hoeab, but her most recent work feels like she’s trying to do too much with the maasverse and it’s not well thought out (i had so many issues with the larger world plot elements of acosf and the regression on bryce’s character arc in hosab…). it feels like as she’s gotten more and more popular, whoever her current editor is doesn’t do a good job at making her ideas work best for the overall story. i’m disappointed bc the premises have so much potential but haven’t lived up to it to me :/
