Quadrant-less davekat is fine and all but you know what is really good? When karkat and another troll flirt/do relationship stuff or something but then they actually try and officially get together and define their relationship they ask him what quadrant they're in and his face just falls.

(queue karkat and the other troll figuring out the beauty of blurring the lines/vacillating or even troll x troll quadrantless dating, and them both having to deconstruct their views on the strict systems present on alternia and their own attitudes towards it. it's so good every time)

Anyway have you guys ever heard of "The great empire of HIC"? (Its a rebellion/pirate!au solkat fic that does this SO WELL IM OBSESSED WITH IT)
