well the page with king boo has been done for a long while, but the page with Luigi is the one I'm working on right now. I just wanted to post some progress shots of everyone being sad/upset lol.

Anyways, I'm on track to have the update ready by the end of the month, so that's exciting!

I just wanted to post some of the upcoming mini-print WIPs especially since I missed last month's print due to school getting hectic. hopefully I can finish and print these by the end of May, but of course I now have a full time job and also I still have to make an animation for class (Energy levels are low but the expectations being hoisted onto me arent). In addition I'm going to have to find a new subscription platform to set up for a monthly patch, because I do not trust Patreon anymore.

thinking that during febuwhump just depending on class load i might be putting current large WIPs (A Breeze From the South, Twilight Prince) on hold if they're not done by then. i write on the fly tho so who tf knows how that will end up XD i feel like every time i say i wont work on something i end up working on it lmfao

my classes start next week so writing might slow down a bit?? who knows! french i had last semester so i know what that workload looks like. but im taking a reading heavy english course this sem in a very special interest area of mine (arthurian history) so that will likely (a) occupy more time and (b) influence my writing XD i feel like an arthur survey is going to give me lots of ideas for wars and wild.......

Various bookish updates:

Rearranged my shelves into a big list, as I'd been threatening to do for weeks. Surprising no one, I hate it, because a system that worked when I was a kid with 50 books does not work as an adult with 600. Unfortunately it's now too hot to rearrange the shelves again (except for next weekend but I might have non-book-based plans), so they might be like this until fall.

Recent bookish acquisitions from Indigo and the thrift store. I still have a couple more packages from indigo on the way because I guess like, every book I ordered was coming from a different warehouse

Finished the Song of the Lioness series!

Currently reading The Call is Coming from Inside the House by Allyson McOuat. Enjoying it quite a bit - essay collections can be hit or miss for me but this one is incredibly insightful, funny, entertaining, and thought-provoking. Will probably finish it tomorrow or Thursday, and then reread Spinning Silver, since it's a Cold Weather Book(TM) and we're suffering through what looks like back-to-back weeks-long heat waves with only a slight reprieve at the end of this week.

Now, about my Valentine's art. Will use readmore to not clog my own blog and also this one will go a little personal.

First of all, tysm if you got here.

Some of you may know from another post I've been writing a fic themed around Valentine's day. It's supposed to be multichapter and planned to do a whole art piece as promo for it's first one and everything, and I estimated both writing and art would be all ready ontime. But I simply couldn't. I couldn't even start the art piece, though the writing is close from being done.

The reason? Well… lets say things had not been too good for me this last week… i don't want to go very far on details but specially yesterday was super awful and sad and tiring and while i'm calmer now my current situation is still not done. It breaks my heart into a million pieces to not being able to get anything done for today, not even a sketch. I've been since december thinking about this since I see it as a personal project for both me getting into fic writing, and also as something to give for the community and ship I love.

Will it be cancelled? No. Never. Don't even think about it. I've done great advances on it and I feel proud of them and very excited to see what people think of it. It just makes me sad I couldn't get it done on the day I planned. Not to say what I've been going through is sad by itself. Things will go better, I know it, but for now I've been with a difficult situation.

On other news. I got my new laptop battery and it works fantastic. Studies, while they take a lot of my time, had been great and enjoyable. Now I aim to post my fic on February 29, as it's a leap year is a way to make it special ig (and a shoutout at how i draw every 4 years /jjj). I am not 100% sure it will be on time depending on my situation, but I aim for it and feels realistic. I will at least be closer than now. Else it will be on March 14 for white day.

Hello! I have a few small but important announcements to make!

I have officially decided to tag my creative work with a specific tag to make it easier to find! The catch-all tag is #beefriend-writes, but I'll also use #beefriend's-fics and #beefriend's-hcs! And theoretically #beefriend's-drabbles, if I can ever, you know, write one of those... unfortunately my mind insists on all or nothing. Sigh.

Now that I've got that ironed out, I'm going to resume posting queued things from the fandoms. I hesitated before, mostly due to disliking how cluttered my blog got from doing it, but... well, that's what tags are for! Should I make a tag for the queued posts, too?

Holy jesus it's Mermay! I've always wanted to participate in that, so please, send me ideas and requests! I'll try to track down a prompt list or three somewhere and toss them your way. No promises they'll get written in May, but I do promise I will try!

Also, teeny update on the oc front: I've gotten some very good work done on developing them into something I'm not terrified to share, and I'll be revealing them sooner or later! Stay tuned~

And again, I feel I must apologize for my frequent absenses and thank you all for standing by me. You're a truly wonderful community, and I feel blessed by every single interaction I receive. Seriously, I have some of your comments and tags saved on my phone because they made me so happy! My mental health is... not great, as usual, but slowly improving for once. I simply cannot manage to force myself to write anything I don't feel the motivation to do, which is why I've barely been posting. I cannot tell you how many times I've scrolled through asks or stared blankly at an empty page struggling to start on something, anything. My interest in nearly everything has withered and died, and I've been fighting to try and get it back for several months. I am far from out of the woods yet, but I promise I will not disappear for good. I will come back and write for you all whenever my mind permits. I hope to get through all of the requests I've been given one day, but for now, I'm simply choosing whatever sparks my interest the most at any given moment. Requests are still open, and they have a tendency to spark new ideas and give me more motivation, so please don't worry about overwhelming me! I welcome them, even if I cannot write them immediately.
