Predators for being trans, not being men. Trans women are also considered predators in these fields, while men are generally rewarded and paid more than women in these fields.
Trans men are men. Don't misgender them to make a point.
It's transphobia, plain and simple.
Okay I actually want to really look at this ask because it's interesting and really highlights the "Schrodingers Gender" that I was talking about earlier. Because you see what you're doing? You're saying "this is a trans issue in general, not a trans men issue" but then later in the ask "trans men are men and you're misgendering them by making this post." No, I'm not. I am needle point focused on talking about trans men, trans mascs, their relationship to masculinity and how people are bigoted towards transgender men because of their relationship to masculinity. I've explained myself about why this is transandrophobia specifically here.
Though I would very specifically like to hear from trans women that felt they have been pushed towards pink collar jobs and now find that they are being treated as more predatory than they were before, especially if any trans women that are in childcare and can discuss the differences between how they were treated when able to go stealth vs being known as a woman, as well as before and after transition.

The Homestuck version of MeGaLoVania is better than the Undertale version of it. I know this is a well known truth but it bears repeating.

Will that fic see the light of day? Hate sex by the river? Practically has matching art to go with it? You can’t tease us like this now 😭
It's not hate sex by the river. It's post ACOMAF, in-canon ACOWAR where Elain is also taken to spring and they're forced to accept the bond where they THEN fuck by a river
I never posted it the first time because I was like, this will get me cancelled and now I haven't posted it because this is two years later and I'm working on other things. I have my elain week stuff + my regular stuff and then orc Cassian which I want to get done.

I don't think we talk enough about Kuroo being motherless.
Tumblr media
I saw a couple of HC posts talking about him not getting along with his dad or whatever and I was like...hold on there friends. You can slander Papa Miya, he's not real, but my boy is MOTHERLESS. He's a Disney princess is what he is.

Okay, the post I saw was not so atrocious as to inspire three posts. This one's on me. Like if it was genuinely terrible, I'd just reblog it and say I think it's terrible. I've never been shy about my opinion. It was just kind of stupid.

It's not exclusive to queer/LGBT+ people either. Look at the rage whenever a black character, woman character, anyone who happens to be anything other than white and male (or both) take center stage. Look at what they do to actors and actresses and have the sheer gall to act like they're in the right for chasing someone off social media.
There's no winning with them. Do not play their game. Do not put yourself into an easily ignorable box. Be loud. Be proud. Fight back in any way you can.
Even if just existence and surviving will do, do it.
So an important thing about all those times some conservative paper is writing about how "SOME MOVIE/SHOW IS ANTI-CHRISTIAN LGBT PROPAGANDA!" and then it turns out the thing has, like, one scene where it's implied one character is trans or a high school guy mentions his offscreen boyfriend... This isn't an overreaction, exactly, though it often gets called that.
Because it's never as "bad" as you'd expect from all that. The new peanuts film doesn't star "Chelsea Brown", a transfemme lesbian who uses neopronouns and is in a polycule with three (possibly weed-smoking) girlfriends. As amusing as that'd be... It's always just one lesbian who had a chaste kiss with her wife at a birthday party.
Instead the correct takeaway is that they are telling on themselves exactly how much LGBT content they think is too much:
Any.
The amount of LGBT representation they think is correct is none. It doesn't matter how respectable it is, if they're married, if it's just the most sexless thing you've ever seen, if it's just hinted at and not stated outright or shown... It's too much.
And that's important because it's not exactly what they are saying. They are saying "this has gone too far, this is too much", which might cause people in the middle to agree with them. Someone might go "maybe there is a bunch of naked gay men in the new episode of The Candy Bunch Kids, that doesn't seem appropriate for my 4 year old".
But that's never the case (with the possible exception of the original unpatched SimCopter). It's how they're arguing, yes, but they're arguing it based on the most basic of representation.
And that's an important thing to remember when it comes to things like the "kink at pride" debate. Even if they're saying "this has gone too far, this is too much", there's no amount that you can restrict yourself to that'll make them happy.
You can't win this game; They're lying about the rules. So be yourself proudly and loudly. They'll complain just as much, don't listen to them.

love when men cry about body hair bc "it's hygiene" and yet 15% of cis men leave the bathroom without washing their hands at all and an additional 35% only just wet their hands without using soap. that is nearly half of all men. that means statistically you have probably shaken hands with or been in direct contact with one of these people.
love when men say that women "only want money" when it turns out that even in equal-earning homes, women are actually adding caregiver burdens and housework from previous years, whereas men have been expanding leisure time and hobbies. in equal-earning households, men spend an average of 3.5 hours extra in leisure time per week, which is 182 hours per year - a little over a week of paid vacation time that the other partner does not receive. kinda sounds like he wants her money.
love that men have decided women are frail and weak and annoying when we scream in surprise but it turns out it's actually women who are more reliable in an emergency because men need to be convinced to actually take action and respond to the threat. like, actually, for-real: men experience such a strong sense of pride about their pre-supposed abilities that it gets them and their families killed. they are so used to dismissing women that it literally kills them.
love it. told my father this and he said there's lies, damned lies, and statistics. a year ago i tried to get him to evacuate the house during a flash flood. he ignored me and got injured. he has told me, laughing, that he never washes his hands. he has said in the last week that women are just happier when we're cooking or cleaning.
maybe i'm overly nostalgic. but it didn't used to feel so fucking bleak. it used to feel like at least a little shameful to consider women to be sheep. it just feels like the earth is round and we are still having conversations about it being flat - except these conversations are about the most obvious forms of patriarchy. like, we know about this stuff. we've known since well before the 50's.
recently andrew tate tried to justify cheating on his partner as being the "male prerogative." i don't know what the prerogative for the rest of us would be. just sitting at home, watching the slow erosion of our humanity.
#writeblr#warm up#ps edited so it is more clear where “half” of men is coming from:#15% literally don't even touch water#an ADDITIONAL 35% ''wash'' by just running their hands under water WITHOUT SOAP#15+35 =50%#like that is not washing ur hands. go back and use soap#btw the numbers for women are 4% never washing and 15% ''just water''#which is still gross but like. sooo much better yikes#ps i know we're all gay on this site but watching ppl ''correct'' my math on this has been wild#i have a learning disability im genuinely bad at math so i check EVERY time someone corrects me#but no they're just confidently wrong.....#182 hours is a week babes. 182/24 (number of hours in a day) is ~7.6#that's where i got that number from. also from rent we know there's 168 hours in a week.#ALSO btw if u read this and ur response is ''men are also struggling rn tho'' like babe you missed the point of it tho#this doesn't even make fun of men it's legit just pointing out that bigotry against women isn't founded#in anything men actually CARE about . like they don't actually CARE about ''being clean'' when they make fun of armpit hair#or they would be WASHING THEIR HANDS.#men pretend to be rollin' in cash and Apex Predators and instead they are trained to be lazy and unwilling to act in emergencies#i have never and will never make fun of men for asking for more support on important topics like DV and mental health.#this is so clearly not about men; it's about how common just being plainly misogynistic has become.#like they don't try to hide it anymore.

The thing is, right. I agree with you that this pattern does need to be understood/acknowledged because it's important to consider. But (this is not you, OP) so many people have been flat-out blaming the success of MLM shows for the failure of WLW ones, and that sits really badly with me. Positioning some queer shows as the enemy of other queer shows leaves a really sour taste in my mouth, especially because the success of MLM media is a relatively recent phenomenon.
(Just look at Cassandra Clare's hardcore struggles to include gay male characters in her books in 2007. Probably the first time I saw queer characters in mainstream books, and the publisher pushed them to the side despite her desire to make them mains. I'm so glad she is allowed to include more queer characters now - I love the diversity in the books. But that's another story, sorry for the ADHD.)
In any case, many people who have been comparing RWRB and Heartstopper's success to ALOTO or First Kill's (Godawful) cancellations deflect the issue of lesbophobia from studios and streaming platforms onto other queer media and the queer people who consume it. That's what I think sits poorly; that's what I don't like.
What we should call out, if we're going to bring Achillean shows into the conversation in a healthy way, is:
The fact that sapphic shows get virtually no promotion in comparison to the richly-deserved promotion of MLM ones, which reflects very badly on networks and studios, and
The fact that WLW shows that get the same (or higher) viewer statistics as MLM ones get canceled while the MLM ones (rightfully) do not. (An example: First Kill being canceled despite having audience scores on par with Heartstopper... despite very little promo.)
The conversations I'm seeing are frequently along the lines of "if we're canceling wlw shows we should be canceling mlm ones too," even if that's not the intention behind what people are saying. They're not "studios and producers need to examine the reasons why they cancel shows, realize their prejudices against wlw media, and work to make wlw programs as successful as mlm ones." And that's what the conversation needs to be.
"You don't need to bring Red, white and royal blue into the cancelation of A league of their own" Yeah, yeah, we should. it is not the first time this happened! It doesn't matter how popular a wlw is! Is never treated like a mlm, and it hurts! Prime promo their mlm like is their best accomplishment and cancel (after saying they will give us 4 episodes) their sapphic show that has awards, a lot of fans, etc so people, especially sapphics have the right to complain and compare!
