There's a Will; There's a Way (Book 4) Chapter Twenty-One
Dazai Osamu x Fem! Reader
Chuuya Nakahara x Fem! OC
Chapter Twenty-One: Tripolar Singularity
MANGA SPOILERS PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING
Summary: The aftermath of fighting Fukuchi and Fyodor is not the end of the battle against evil.
Thump!
Sigma’s limp body hit the ground, and Chuuya shrugged.
“Nothing,” he said.
“Huh. Maybe he’s just sleep deprived?” said Dazai, obviously not serious.
Chuuya rolled his eyes. “You’d think that would keep him zonked after being dropped fifteen times? If that is the case, we should just let the poor bastard get some shut-eye.
“I really wanted to know what he and Dostoevsky chatted about,” said Dazai.
“Maybe he’s being forced asleep by an ability?” suggested Chuuya.
“If that were the case, he’d have woken up the second I touched him,” said Dazai.
“Just quit your worrying,” said Chuuya. “That anemic son of a bitch kicked the bucket. You saw it with your own eyes.”
“You’re right.” Dazai furrowed his brow. “I just don’t get it. Why hasn’t he woken up yet?” It disquieted him. He had ensured Fyodor died, but…something felt off. Fyodor had been angry and caught off guard, but that was nearly impossible. Dazai had beaten him, but what if he had failsafe? What if there was something more going on?
He flopped to the ground and rolled around in frustration, thinking it over. If he had overlooked something—a rare occurrence but possible against a man as intelligent as him—then (Y/N) would once again be in danger, and Dazai couldn’t let that happen.
“Quit that habit of rolling all over the ground whenever you’re worrying,” said Chuuya. “It’s annoying to look at, Dazai. What are you still brooding over? Sure, we don’t know why Sigma won’t wake up—”
Dazai paused. “I know exactly why he isn’t waking up.”
“Huh?” Chuuya furrowed his brow.
“He’s overloaded with information,” said Dazai. “After taking in an excessive amount of memory data in through an ability, one loses consciousness, as to give their brain time to sort through it all. I was told something similar happened to (Y/N).” He frowned as he continued to go through his own thoughts. “Could that mean Dostoevsky purposefully let Sigma read his memories? Now just why would he—” He froze. His eyes widened. He sat up. Wild panic flew through his mind.
“In order to mask his ability?” said Dazai, breathless. “It’s possible the ability the ability he showed off at the end of the “Mutual Destruction” incident and threatened (Y/N) with was a fake. He likely prepared one of Hawthorne’s blood bullets beforehand then transferred the blood to the soldier he touched, destroying him from the inside.
“However, that just made us cautious of the possibility of his ability’s activation condition being ‘touch.’ That’s exactly why my plan was all distanced. Hence, taking out the helicopter all in order to defeat him without making direct contact. If that’s not the case, what’s the real activation condition?” Dazai searched through every interaction with Fyodor and arrived at the helicopter. He remembered Fyodor final words as the helicopter fell towards him.
Angelic light.
Dazai's eyes widened in horror. Fyodor had smiled as he spoke.
He jumped to his feet and ran for the exit.
“Wha—? Hey, where are you going, dumbass?!” shouted Chuuya. Dazai hadn’t explained anything.
“We have to check Dostoevsky’s corpse!” said Dazai, more alarmed than Chuuya had ever seen him.
A shiver ran down Chuuya’s spine, and he ran out after Dazai. Before he had a chance to lift the helicopter with his ability, Dazai had pushed rubble aside and found the corpse proper—one arm missing, just as before. Dazai grabbed the other arm and pulled the body out.
Chuuya just squatted and watched. “Now here’s a rare sight. It’s not often I get to see you sweat.” He looked at the body. “There you have it. He bit the dust. Hard.”
“Is that so?” Dazai pushed the body over, and his heart dropped. “Then who the hell is this?” It was not Fyodor’s face that stared unseeing at the sky.
Everything fell into horrible place.
“During the prison break race, Dostoevsky was frantic. He was frantic because death at my hand or by poison wouldn’t do it. What he needed was to be killed by a vampire.” Dazai narrowed his eyes.
“Huh?” said Chuuya, eyes widened.
“I get it now. His entire plan. It all leads to…the worst possible scenario.” And Dazai had allowed it to happen. He had put everything he cared about, the world, (Y/N) in harm’s way. He jumped to his feet. “I have to tell Ranpo immediately!”
“Hey, hold it, explain!” said Chuuya, following him.
“His ability’s activation condition! It isn’t touch!” shouted Dazai as he ran. “Dostoevsky’s ability, it activates when he’s killed!”
“The hell’s that supposed to mean? Speak Japanese, please!” snapped Chuuya.
“A vampire killed Dostoevsky! But he didn’t do it of his own volition!” Dazai’s eyes were wide open as he ran. “He was just a puppet being controlled. Nothing but his fingertip. The vampire piloting the helicopter was just the same as a gun or blade. Nothing but a tool. The one with the intent, the one who actually killed Dostoevsky…was Bram Stoker!”
The man horribly close to (Y/N).
“The reason his corpse turned into a different person, the reason he docilely submitted to being locked away across the world, there’s only one explanation!” said Dazai. “Dostoevsky’s ability is to subsume the person that killed as ‘the next Dostoevsky!’ ”
Dazai had led Fyodor right to (Y/N), the woman he loved.
l
(Y/N) and Akira lay on the ground, unconscious. Slowly, Akira managed to raise her head, holding her wounds tightly as she bled. She groaned and looked around to analyze the current situation. Fukuchi was sitting and stared at the body of his friend-turned-fanatical-villain, Fukuchi. (Y/N) was groaning and blinking her eyes open in an attempt to regain consciousness after the battle. Behind them, Bram had arrived on the airport runway with Aya at his side. He gazed at Fukuchi.
“My archenemy—” He groaned and stumbled. “I see…”
“What’s the matter, Bra-chan?” asked Aya.
“My princess,” said Bram. He turned and pushed her back in alarm. “Run far from here!” He cried out and grabbed his face as his skin split open. Like a snake shedding its scales, Bram’s skin and hair fell away to reveal anemically-pale skin like that of the vampire’s, but now black hair fell from his head. (Y/N)’s eyes widened as sharp, cruel eyes blinked open.
Fyodor stood before the group with a smirk. His gaze instantly leveled on (Y/N). “Why, good morning, Angel,” he said.
Fukuzawa grabbed his sword, but Fyodor drew the sword that had once been implanted in Bram and pointed it at Akira. “I’d advise you not to move. I won’t hesitate to kill her.”
“Fuck you,” sneered Akira. “Do it.”
“No—” (Y/N) coughed and tasted the iron tang of blood in her mouth.
“I suppose it doesn’t much matter what you decide,” said Fyodor, shifting his foot towards Fukuchi’s body.
“Stop him—”
(Y/N)’s warning was too late, and before Fukuzawa could decide to attack—not that he would allow Akira to die, he wouldn’t even kill Fukuchi himself, which Fyodor had used to his advantage—Fyodor kicked Fukuchi’s sword into his hand.
“I do apologize for the following discomfort, Angel. But it is for your own good,” said Fyodor with the disgustingly possessive look in his eyes. He flipped the swords around in his hands.
“Stop him!” shouted Ranpo, running across the airport. “Don’t let Dostoevsky stab her with that blade!”
Fyodor smirked and struck. (Y/N) let out a cry as both swords hit her, and a green light welled up from the wound. Fyodor watched with immense satisfaction.
“In my right, the Divine Blade, Ame-no-Gozen. In my left, the Holy Sword, Soluz Levni.” Fyodor watched the light grow to a blinding brightness. “Two heavenly blades and an angelic being bring froth unto this land, a miracle.”
Ranpo ran forward, helpless to stop what Fyodor had begun. He had brought three “extremes” together—the space-time sword, said to have a god dwelling within it, the forced combination of ability and body, the Holy Cross Sword, and the ability to control and strength all that the holder surveys, There’s a Will; There’s a Way.
They united, and the power unleashed bathed the world in energy they could not overcome. Akira let out a cry for her best friend, her sister, but she could not see (Y/N) through the green light. The force of the energy shoved her back. Fukuzawa grabbed her and Aya and held them as the light rushed over them.
The tripolar singularity was unleashed.
l
(Y/N) felt pure energy coursing through her, and the edges of her vision darkened. In fact, her thoughts seemed to be fleeing her. She was growing smaller, smaller, smaller…
Within (Y/N), something twisted and twisted until it broke. (Y/N)’s eyes closed, and amidst all the light, darkness swallowed them whole.
l
The light faded, and Akira, Aya, and Fukuzawa raised their heads. Their eyes widened. A crater stood where (Y/N) had lain. Torii—gates—stood around the crater, and green energy still sparked out within it.
“Now, would you look at that. Spectacular,” said Fyodor, standing at the edge of the crater.
“What the hell did you do?” snapped Akira, trying to move forward, but the injuries were still too much and hadn’t healed. “Where’s (Y/N)?! How the hell are you here?!”
“Bram Stoker is dead,” said Fyodor with a smirk. “And I endured quite the hardship to obtain the echoes of him in death.” He lifted his hand to reveal One Order.
“No—” Fukuzawa’s eyes widened.
“Yes,” said Fyodor. “ ‘One Order.’ A weapon allowing its wielder to control all of their subordinates as they please. This body belongs—or, well, belonged—to Bram Stoker, the King of the Vampires. If I were to use One Order within this body, who would I be able to control?”
Aya’s eyes widened. “You’d be able to control all of the vampires across the world…?”
“That’s what all this was for?!” snapped Akira. “The Decay of the Angel, Fukuchi, all of it—you just wanted to take over the world like any common fucking villain?”
Fyodor smirked. “I am hardly common.”
Behind him, a beacon of light erupted from the crater. They watched it arc up before floating down to stand behind Fyodor. The light faded to reveal a figure. Fukuzawa’s eyes widened, and Akira’s lungs constricted into a horrified gasp.
It was (Y/N). Her gaze was empty, and she wore a long, white kimono. As it fluttered around her in the wind, the light hit it to reveal a green shine. A veil floated over here yes with three dots on it. The sword at her side glinted dangerously in the light. (Y/N) looked divine and dangerous.
“(Y/N),” breathed Akira, heartbroken.
“Not quite,” said Fyodor. “This is a divine being, far being your…mortal existence.” He gazed adoringly at (Y/N), and Akira was disgusted. “With the Holy Cross sword’s power to combine ability and body, a tripartite fusion occurred between (Y/N) (L/N), the Divine Blade Ame-no-Gozen, and the Holy Sword itself. Then, (Y/N)’s ability combined with Ame-no-Gozen, her gift strengthened by the sword in turn giving it strength, letting hundredfold elevation of power approach infinity. The abilities gave way to a singularity. (Y/N)—an angel trapped in a mortal body—can now become who she was meant to be. She possesses truly godlike power.” Fyodor raised his hand to show a black mark on his palm. “And a goddess answers her devout follower’s prayers.” He smiled with a worshipful expression, but it was a mask in front of his cruelty and manipulation. “With the seal of the Holy Sword, she will answer my call and my call alone.”
Fyodor took a knee and held (Y/N)’s hand reverently in his hand. He kissed the back gently before looking up at (Y/N). “My lady, my angel, my goddess of order and justice. Mine.”

Backbeard - Day 61
Race: Foul
Alignment: Dark-Chaos
July 1st, 2024
ZEHAHAHA- wait, no L. Unfortunate. Today's Demon of the Day is, strangely, a modern version of a classic type of monster, and one that originates from a very specific source- a manga. Yep, we have another one that leads you in circles in research, though in this case, it's because it might not even exist. Enter Backbeard, a yōkai that originates from GeGeGe no Kitaro. Before I start digging into what little there is to offer, I'd like to give a huge thank you to @kanekocribs 's fantastic post about this subject, which also had a great delve into Porewit, which you all know my very... intense feelings about.
For the most part, Backbeard's origin is incredibly hard to trace; the purported origin of the yōkai in the book "100 Ghosts and Hauntings of the World" seems to have just been made up by the SMT fandom wiki, as the closest thing I can even trace to that name is the series of woodblock prints from the 1830's called "One Hundred Ghost Stories" which can be further traced back to a set of parlor games called "Hyakumonogatari Kaidankai." In these sources, though, I can't find any reference to Backbeard or even just a single-eyed entity, which appears to be the primary trait for a lot of depictions. Even going back and trying to find anything related to an August 1965 edition of Shonen Book, which the wiki page cites...
Sends you right back to GeGeGe no Kitaro. Please get some sources cited Megaten wiki. Regardless, though, what on earth is GeGeGe no Kitaro even about? It's about yōkai, of course! In the story, Backbeard appears as a major antagonist, leading scores of the 'Western Yōkai,' effectively meaning groups of classical horror movie monsters such as the Wolfman, Dracula, Witches, etc. He's seen as the main antagonist of several of the stories, but in most adaptations he's cut for more personal antagonists. I'm not well versed in GeGeGe no Kitaro, especially because I haven't read it, but the design says all it really needs to say.
Later on, it's attributed and believed that Backbeard may have taken inspiration from several sources conglomerating together, though I could not find a source for the LIFE OF ME regarding the first one. TW for body horror and bugs below, but some people purport that Backbeard may have been based on the 'Eye Bugs' from the aforementioned magazine '100 Ghosts and Hauntings of the World,' though again, I have no idea where this picture comes from, and searching is turning up diddly squat. The second picture, though, I can attest to existing- a piece of art called the Shinjuku Phantom Chimera by Masatoshi Naitō.
Ironically, I pulled this from another blog! Special thanks as well to @littleeyesofpallas for this post about Bleach that ALSO goes into Backbeard. Finally, we can trace the inspiration for Backbeard and Shinjuku Phantom Chimera all the way back to the 1800's, wherein we have this painting by French artist Odilon Redon, simply called Eye Balloon.
So, cool! What do I do with this? I have no idea! There isn't really a moral at the end of this, or any grand message, and my hours of digging have dealt me many, many headaches with not much else in return. I guess, at the very least, I satisfied my curiosity, and also found out that Bleach has a GeGeGe no Kitaro reference in it.

At first sight Chapter Thirty-Eight
(m!reader x Bonten!Haruchiyo Sanzu)
Fluff/slash/reader is male/cursing/BontenTimeline/drugs and alcohol mentioned/violence/blood/death
All characters that appeared in the Tokyo Revengers manga and anime belong to Ken Wakui.
Words: 3754
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The abyss.
Impenetrable darkness and piercing cold that tightened its claws around you. The wind whistled in your ears, lashing your face like a whip.
You felt your clothes being torn in all directions and with horror you had the impression that you were starting to fall faster and faster.
Scenes from your entire life so far passed before your eyes, tears starting to well up.
You clearly saw your mother's smiling face, which in the blink of an eye froze in horror, only to change to your older sister's face. Mai waved at you, dressed in her school uniform. However, in a split second her face became mature and suddenly from behind her legs emerged a little girl with shoulder-length blond hair whom you didn't know at all, so you assumed your memory was playing tricks on you.
After all, you were aware that you were dreaming, so anything could have happened, right?
Your sister's form transformed into that of your other sister, but she looked completely different than in your last memories. And why was she wearing a policewoman's uniform?
Suddenly, a dot appeared in the middle of her forehead, from which a thin red stream dripped, and her eyes froze, still as if staring at you.
"Hold my hand, Y/n!" You heard your father's voice, which materialized right in front of your face, but before you could grab his outstretched hand, a light flashed, and you fell with full force into the rock-hard surface of water.
The icy liquid closed over your head, and you began to fall lower and lower, deeper. You tilted your head up and saw the sun's rays cutting across the unforgiving surface. You tried to swim upwards, but you were quickly losing strength, and darkness was growing thicker on every side.
You opened your mouth to scream, but all that came out were bubbles of air, and icy water rushed into your lungs. There was no salvation for you anymore. This was your end...
Suddenly, right before your eyes, you saw two blue flames and your body was pulled upwards with enormous force...
“Y/n!” You heard someone scream right next to your ear and your body jerked hard.
No, it was someone shaking you vigorously.
Your eyes flew open, and you sat up abruptly on the bed, completely drenched in cold sweat. Your heart was pounding in your chest as if it was about to jump out, and you felt a strong grip of someone's hands on your shoulders.
“Y/n?!” You saw Haruchiyo's pale face in front of you. There was pure terror in his eyes. “God... Fuck...”
He hugged you and your arms wrapped around his body as tight as you probably ever had before. As if your whole life depended on that hug.
You buried your nose in the crook of his neck and inhaled his scent, trying to calm down, but the scenes from your dream were still playing out before your eyes. His hand stroked your back while the other one tangled in your hair and started to comb it.
You began to gently rock from side to side and with each passing moment in silence, you began to feel more and more calm, although the fear didn't disappear completely. It shrank to the size of a pea and retreated into the back of your head.
“It's okay, baby. I'm here for you.” He said quietly in a gentle tone and you let out a shaky sigh. “Don't ever scare me like that again. Never again, do you understand, honey?”
“I'm sorry, Haru. Forgive me...” You answered him quietly, almost whispering into his bare skin. “It's just a nightmare...”
“Just a nightmare.” The man repeated and after a few more minutes you pulled away from him slightly.
Immediately his hands rested on your face and began to caress your cheeks. You saw his eyes roaming your face searching for any signs of uncertainty, but you could only focus on his pale lips. You stared at the scars at the corners of them.
“I dreamt about my family again.” You explained despite the fact that he didn’t ask you anything.
He brushed the hair away from your forehead and left a kiss on it. “Don’t say anything. I understand.”
Your gaze involuntarily wandered towards the window with the curtain not fully drawn and you noticed that it was dark outside. How long could you have slept? An hour? Maybe two at most, which gave you midnight...
When you looked at the clock on the nightstand, you frowned and moved away from the man more. The clock face showed 7:45 p.m., but it was definitely too dark...
“You pulled the anti-burglar blinds.” Sanzu said as if he knew what had caused your disorientation.
“Yes? When?” You haven't used the blinds in a while...
“What do you mean, when? Before we went to bed. You drank more than usual, and I had to take you upstairs. You insisted on the blinds. Upstairs.” The man laughed uncertainly and fell silent when you looked at him like he was a complete lunatic. “Y/n?”
You didn't remember drinking anything after Rosie left, but... Maybe your brain was already so overloaded with the whole Yuji thing that it wasn't registering everything.
“Sorry.” You moved to the edge of the bed and your feet touched the cool floor. “I guess I really need to cut back on alcohol, because I don’t really remember today.”
“Uh-huh…” You felt the man’s searching gaze on you, leading you to the bathroom.
You closed the door behind you and looked in the mirror above the sink. You didn’t look bad, or at least not bad enough to show that you had been drinking alcohol. Sure, you still felt a slight tingling in your fingers and on the tip of your nose, which confirmed Sanzu’s words that you had been doing it, but the rest…
You frowned again as you realized more clearly that the hours didn't add up and after quickly splashing cold water on your face, you headed back to your bedroom.
The pink-haired man was laying on his side on his half of the bed, ready to fall back asleep, but when you stood in front of him, he propped himself up on his elbow.
"Sweetheart?"
"What day is it today?"
“Are you serious?” He sat up, concern filling his beautiful, bright eyes.
“Please…”
“It’s still Tuesday.”
“T-Tuesday?” You asked, feeling an icy chill run down your spine. You went to bed on Monday between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.... Kisaki will be furious if you're late. “Shit, I have to go.”
“What? Where?” The man asked, jumping out of bed.
“I have a meeting, did you forget?” You started to dress quickly, completely ignoring the half-naked Sanzu following you around.
“What meeting?”
“About Yuji.”
“Yuji? Y/n...”
“Sanzu, you set up this meeting for me. I don’t have time.” You grabbed your phone and before the man could react, you ran out of the bedroom.
You ran down the stairs to the ground floor, where you grabbed your shoes and ran into the garage to get in your car.
“Y/n! Wait!” You started to reverse the car when the garage door opened high enough, and after your car, a confused, scared Haruchiyo dressed in a bathrobe ran out into the driveway. “Y/n!”
You pulled out onto the street and only at the first traffic light did you realize that the only thing that opened automatically was the gate to the property... So...
No, wait... It had been like that from the very beginning. Fool...
You spent the next few minutes driving to the address you knew well, the building that belonged to Kisaki Tetta, where you were supposed to access the reports he and Hanma had collected so far regarding the murdered prostitutes and Kuroda's scam and all that. The drive took you much less time than before, since the traffic was already much lighter than it was during the day.
You could hear your phone vibrating in the passenger seat perfectly, and knowing who was trying to call you, you decided to ignore it. Oh well, Sanzu would skin you for it later, but you didn't have time to talk. Whatever the topic of conversation was.
You pulled into a free parking spot that you had used many times before when you had to visit Kisaki and Hanma, and continued on foot. You only had two blocks to go, but it didn't bother you at all. You knew the shortcut you decided to take, and as soon as you came around the corner... You stopped dead in your tracks.
You looked around and everything matched up. The street, the buildings... Everything. Except for one thing. Where the blond strategist's building should have been, there was an empty lot that was being prepared for construction.
“What the fuck?” You asked loudly, pulling your phone out of your pocket and turning on the navigation to check your location on the map, but as soon as you entered the address you knew, a message popped up saying that the information was incorrect.
Kisaki's company was gone, just like the building itself.
You started laughing under your breath and felt your eyebrow twitch. You were supposed to meet up with your old comrades from Valhalla to get new information on Yuji L/n's case, but something was clearly wrong, and it was very wrong.
You dialed Sanzu's number, and he picked up after the first ring.
“Y/n, what are you doing?” The man asked nervously. “Where are you?”
“You know where I am.” You replied.
“Okay, you’re right. Why did you go there?”
“I had a meeting here…”
“I didn’t make any appointments for you, Y/n. And certainly not where you are. Come back home.”
“Sanzu, don't make a fool of me...”
“You're making a fool of yourself.” He growled, but his voice immediately took on a softer tone. “Y/n, honey. Please come home. You shouldn't be wandering around town in your condition.”
“You know what my metabolism is like. I'm almost sober.” You tried to convince him, but you fell silent when you heard his next words.
“Baby, you took one of my pills. You shouldn't be conscious for a few more hours.”
“What?” You asked in shock. That couldn't be true, you avoided drugs like the plague... “What are you talking about?”
“You wanted to see for yourself what they did. Apparently, your body reacted completely differently than mine. You shouldn't have taken them.”
“You're kidding, right?” You asked, feeling uncertainty starting to take hold of you. What if Sanzu was telling the truth?
“Y/n, honey, please. Come back home.”
“Okay…” You headed back the way you came, but before you disappeared into the alley, you glanced over your shoulder again at the empty lot. “It’s gone, you know? The whole building.”
“The whole… What?” Sanzu asked. “Y/n, what are you talking about? I understand if someone didn’t show up, but a disappearing building…?” There was silence for a moment. “Should I send a taxi for you?”
“No, no. I can do it. It's okay...” You set off again. “There's going to be construction on the building site, but he didn't say anything about demolition or anything...”
“Who? Who were you supposed to meet?”
“What do you mean? Kisaki.”
“Can you repeat that?” The man asked in a strange tone of voice.
“Tetta Kisaki and Shuji Hanma...”
“Y/n.”
“I was supposed to meet them here. At Kisaki's building...”
“Y/n, stay where you are.” His voice was serious, and you stopped immediately.
“Why?”
“Stay where you are...” The shuffling and rustling of fabric. “Or even better. Go back to the car and wait for me there. I'll take a cab and I'll be there in a few minutes.”
“Sanzu? What's going on?” Your legs began to carry you towards your car again.
“Y/n. No one has seen Hanma in years.”
“What the fuck are you talking about?” You asked amusedly as you got into the driver’s seat. “He works for Kisaki…”
“Kisaki’s dead.” The tone of Sanzu’s voice alone could knock you off your feet.
“Can you repeat that, please?” Did you miss something?
“You really can't take drugs, fuck…” Your interlocutor sighed. “Kisaki Tetta's been dead for years. He was in a fatal accident when he was still in Tenjiku.”
“Stop talking shit...” You began, feeling anger start to take hold of you, and then the memories hit you like a train.
“Y/n?”
You remembered. You remembered it because you were in Tenjiku with Sanzu, Mucho, Hanma and Kisaki himself. You remembered the war between Izana Kurokawa's gang and Toman, the death of the leader at the hands of...
You looked out the windshield, feeling the blood drain from your face. Izana died at the hands of the blond guy with glasses, although his target was supposed to be Kakucho. Then there was a chase. You wanted to take part in it, but Sanzu kept you with him and only after some time did you find out about Tetta's death.
“Y/n? Are you still there?”
“Yes. Yes, I am. I'm waiting in my car.” You replied stiffly and ended the call.
All of these memories belonged to you, but at the same time, they were like someone else's. You focused on remembering the details of your dream. Your mother, Mai, Tomoko, and your father.
Your mother was dead, and you were one hundred percent sure of that. Despite the signs suggesting third-party involvement, her death was ruled a suicide.
Mai... You scratched your head, knowing that your sister was also dead, but... In your head, memories of her marriage to some man, the birth of her child, and her divorce shortly after, which should have never happened, kept popping up. None of these memories should exist. You remembered your mother's scream when she found her dead...
Your other sister was dead too, but if that was the case, how on earth did she become a policewoman? Tomoko was supposed to take the detective exams and follow in your uncle Tsuyoshi's footsteps, right?
Right?
Your father was killed by Yuji, the day before your mother. After that, you moved in with Tomoko, who started losing herself in the world of sex work.
"No, not really." You frowned. "She's a policewoman."
You opened your photo gallery and saw photos of your loved ones in situations that should never have happened, but you had proof that they did. Your finger moved across the screen until you stopped at a photo from a place you knew well. The photo showed your father, both sisters, and the little girl from your dream. They were all sitting smiling at one of the tables in your cafe, and the little girl's face was dirty from the hot chocolate she was enjoying...
Natsuko. Her name was Natsuko, and she got it from your mother's grandmother. Yes, you remembered it perfectly because Mai asked you for your opinion when she was seven months pregnant. You were very excited at the time because you didn't think anyone would ever ask you something like that.
Tomoko had fun because you were going through it as if you were the father of this child, not Mai's husband.
*knock, knock, knock*
You jumped in your seat when a knock on the side window of the car tore you from your thoughts and when you turned your head, you saw Haruchiyo Sanzu's face. You unlocked the door and the man opened it immediately.
"Move." He gave you a short command and you got out of the car to sit in his usual spot and as soon as you closed the door, he immediately grabbed your forearm. "How are you feeling?"
“Confused.” You answered truthfully and felt the warmth of his other hand on your cheek. “I feel confused and…”
“It's fine. I’ll take you home and you’ll rest.” His bright eyes scanned your face very carefully, as if searching for any signs that something was wrong with you. “Y/n, in all the time we’ve known each other, you’ve never scared me like you did today.”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.” You gently took his hand in yours and kissed the inside of it. “I just have so many memories that shouldn't be there…”
“What?” There was that strange note in his tone that you had heard many times before, but never in reference to you. It was as if a red light went on in the man's head. “What memories? About Kisaki and Hanma?”
“Yes.” At the sight of his gaze, a small voice spoke in your head. Play it coolly, lie. “Apparently I was once more attached to them than I thought. Forgive me.”
Sanzu was silent for a moment, still watching you closely. You knew he hated it when you mentioned Valhalla and how you felt about Toman and especially Mikey at that time. You only changed your mind when you joined Manjiro Sano’s gang along with the rest of your previous companions. When Tetta was expelled and the gang split, you stayed with Sanzu under Yasuhiro Muto’s command.
You were screwed then, because your former colleagues considered you a traitor, but Mikey, seeing your change and loyalty to Toman, let you stay, for which you were grateful.
That was when you started dating Emiko Miura, with whom you eventually had a son and you parted ways on less than friendly terms, and now she was dead and your child was in the hands of your uncle...
You looked to the side, wondering if that was really the case or if your memory was just playing tricks on you. After all, Emiko was dead, right?
“Y/n?”
“Let's go home, okay? Please.” You said, pulling away from the pink-haired man and resting your head against the headrest. “I'm starting to feel dizzy from all this. I feel as if all the coils in my brain were going to straighten out.”
Sanzu laughed quietly and started the engine of your car, and a moment later you were on your way to your house.
“You are absolutely not fit to consume drugs, any drugs at all.” He sighed loudly, still amused. “Hey, Y/n.”
“Hmm?”
“If you start feeling worse, let me know right away, okay?”
“Sure thing. How are you handling all this?”
“Completely different. Yes, I get agitated sometimes... It's like I can do a thousand things at once, but hallucinations like yours? Never. My world becomes clearer, you know... Like you can hear colors and see sounds...”
“But you don't weave dead people into your fresh memories?”
“Yeah, you must have a hell of a ride. I don't envy you that at all.”
You hunched up slightly in your seat and rested your head against the side window. “I wouldn't envy it to anyone either.”
After a while, you pulled out your phone again and started searching the internet for any mention of your ex-partner's death, but you couldn't find anything. Was she still alive?
“What are you doing?” Sanzu asked.
“I’m looking for information on Emiko.”
“Why?”
“I want to see if she’s still alive.”
“Y/n…” Sanzu pulled into your driveway and turned off the engine. “Sweetheart…”
“Yes?” Your eyes were still glued to your phone, which had been gently taken from your hands by Haruchiyo. You looked at him in surprise then.
The man typed something into the search engine and showed you a list of results. There were a few videos with snippets of news and a fair amount of articles.
“Woman's body found in park. Not a suicide.” You read it out loud and picked up your phone to start reading. “Haruka Uchiyama... Oh, right.”
“I don't know what you remember now, but that bitch killed her husband and ran away from us. Your brother got rid of her because she screwed up.”
So that hasn't changed, but if so, who was questioning her so far, since it definitely couldn't have been Hanma?
"It's good that Yuuta ended up in Tsuyoshi's care earlier."
Ended up earlier? But how earlier? When?
Sanzu unbuckled himself, got out of the car and walked around it, opened your door, unbuckled your seatbelt and helped you out of the vehicle. Your legs buckled slightly under you and the man quickly leaned you against the car. He took your phone and put it in the pocket of his jacket.
“If Ran and Rindou saw you now... Fuck, they wouldn't let you live.” Sanzu said with slight amusement, though his face showed concern. “I'll never offer you anything from my stash again. Come on, let's go back to bed.”
He wrapped his strong arm around you and you let him lead you into the house and after a brief struggle with your shoes, upstairs to your bedroom. You fell onto the bed feeling sleepiness creep up on you again and saw your lover's face above you, smiling gently at you.
“Try to get more hours of sleep this time. Tomorrow you're meeting Tomoko at your cafe, remember? You set up this meeting a week ago.”
“Yes?” You mumbled, letting him strip you of your jacket and pants. “With Tomoko?”
“Yeah, with Tomoko. I’ll never understand how she still hasn’t turned you in to the police, knowing you’re in Bonten.”
“L/n don’t betray their family members.” You felt Sanzu’s hands deftly unbutton your shirt and after a moment you felt pleasantly colder air on your skin.
“You know, in their eyes you’re probably the traitor. Just like Yuji.”
“Hmm?”
“Your father was a cop, your uncle still works as a detective, and your sister is just one more exam away from following in his footsteps. Your brother is a murderer in hiding, and you are a member of the most dangerous syndicate in all of Japan.” Sanzu groaned quietly, pushing you higher on the bed so your head could rest on the soft pillow. “Fuck, honey... We're the same height, but you're a lot heavier than me...”
“I've got muscles.” You mumbled, trying to open your eyes so you could look at him once more.
“I've got muscles too.” He grumbled in annoyance, and your lips stretched slightly in an attempt at a smile. I'm too comfortable with your family to have to start fighting with them, and if Tomoko finds out what the fuck you just did, we'll have another cop on our backs.”
“I love you, Haru...” You mumbled, letting yourself fall back into the vortex of darkness.

SEEK
SUKUNA X READER X MEGUMI ?
Warning: obsessive behavior, mention of death, kinda manga spoiler
part ii
Right from the moment that you got separated from Megumi and your friends, you already had a bad feeling, especially when you noticed Tsumiki’s behavior and Yuji not quite acting like himself before going back to being Yuji.
And so, against your senpai-tachi’s wish, you decided to search for them. You’re already out of breath, but you didn’t stop until you caught sight of the familiar back you’re so used to hugging.
"Megumi!" you called, halting as you tried to catch your breath. "Megumi, I’m so glad I found you! Have you caught up with Tsumiki? She was acting we-"
You stopped when you noticed the two people lying on the ground. Yuji and Angel are both bleeding beneath him, and he doesn’t seem to care.
When he looked back at you, eyes and mouth smiling, you knew.
"Where have you been? I’ve been looking everywhere for you. I found them in this stat-"
It’s Megumi’s voice, but you know it’s not him.
"You’re not Megumi..." you say, your throat tight as you slowly take a step back. "Wh-who are you?"
The thing inside him grins, and you’re overcome with dread and horror as you realize who’s in front of you. As you realized who exactly possessed your beloved.
"Sukuna-"
The fear you’re feeling is familiar. It’s the same fear you felt when he dropped Megumi by your side during the Shibuya incident. Sukuna’s words as he healed Megumi during that moment still ring in your mind even after weeks. The plan he alluded to involves Megumi, which gives you chills. And didn’t that moment leave you sleepless and scared for days, to the point where you couldn’t look Yuuji in the eyes for fear you'd see Sukuna and the way he looked at you?
"You’re really smart, aren’t you?" Megumi Sukuna laughs. "I can see why he likes you."
"Wha-" your eyes go back to your bleeding friends. "What did you do to them? What did you do to Megumi?!"
"Nothing." he shrugs, nonchalant. "Just taking my investment, so to speak."
"Investment?" you ask incredulously. "What do you mean by that?"
"You’re a smart girl; why don’t you guess?"
You immediately thought of his plan. Was this part of his plan all along? To possess Megumi?!
Sukuna takes a long look at you. From your tattered clothes to your slightly warm cheeks after all that running to the slight biting of your lower lip while you concentrate, it’s fascinating that your eyes are blazing instead of cool despite your technique.
He smiles when he feels the body inching to touch you. You really like her, don’t you, Megumi?
You took a step back when he came near you. You held out your palm, and the breeze turned to ice as you panicked. "Don’t come near me!"
"You’re his most precious person, do you know that?" He remains calm in the face of your horror and power. He takes a step closer to you. "You’re our most precious person."
Hana lunges at him before he can touch you. And you would’ve hugged her in glee because she’s alive! But stopped when you saw her frantic face.
"Run!" Hana yells at you as she attacks Sukuna. "What are you waiting for?! Run! Warn the others and escape!"
You’re torn between staying to fight alongside her and running to warn the others. Ultimately, there’s only one thing you can do, so you closed your eyes tightly and ran. "Don’t die!"
You ran frantically while searching for your senpais. You don’t know what to do. Megumi... Megumi... what’s happened to him? Is he still alive? And how can you stop Sukuna? Can you even stop him when he’s possessing Megumi like that?
There was a gush of wind and a shadow looming over you—over the place that made you still. You couldn’t believe your eyes when you saw Nue, but it isn’t the Nue you’re used to.
Before Nue’s eyes spotted you, you immediately went inside the abandoned building to hide. What is Sukuna planning? Does he intend to use Nue to track down every sorcerer in the game and eliminate them?
"You’re not a very fast runner, aren’t you?" You screamed and immediately turned around to come face-to-face with Sukuna.
But Hana... she’s strong! How come she's been defeated so easily? Hana... is Hana gone? What did he do? Did he kill her? Your tears threaten to spill as your thoughts scatter.
You’re next. He’s going to kill you. You’re sure of that.
"This won’t do. Don’t cry." he sighs when he sees your tears. "Your tears make me happy, but they make him anxious. He’s already hard to control as it is, I don’t want you to give him anymore reasons to fight me."
Megumi... is still alive? That gave you hope. Megumi is fighting him! It means that Sukuna doesn’t have full control!
You froze him before he could blink and ran as fast as you could to hide. You know you can’t defeat him in your current state. You can’t even defeat Megumi; how could you defeat Sukuna in his body?
You just need to run and strategize. To put some distance between you two and gather your senpais to create a counter attack.
You hid inside the janitor’s closet. There’s no light, just the way it’s supposed to be. As long as you’re quiet, he won’t hear you or find you.
Yuta-senpai can definitely match Sukuna’s strength. He doesn’t need to defeat or kill Sukuna; you just need him restrained. Megumi’s fighting back to gain control over his body, and you trust him enough to know he can do it. Yuji can take over his body even with Sukuna in it; Megumi can too, right?
You bit your lip. You don’t know. You honestly have no idea how you can come out victorious from this one without your sensei and Megumi alive and well. You don’t even know if your senpai-tachi and friends are alive!
There are so many unknown variables that scare you. Sukuna scares you.
Especially when he’s taking his sweet time walking down the hallway.
"I admire your courage in attempting to stop me, but frankly, your ice is nothing compared to Uraume’s. Maybe I can ask her to mentor you so you can get stronger."
His voice echoes in the silent hallway, and you’re pretty sure he’s gonna pass by where you’re hiding soon.
"Aren’t you worried about your friends? They’re still alive, but bleeding to death," he asked with fake concern. "Although I think the brat is already dead by now."
Yuji... he’s talking about Yuji, isn’t he? Your eyes widened, and you covered your mouth as you fought back a whimper.
"Who should I kill next? You can pick. Should I start with the green haired girl or the black haired boy?"
His shadow stops at the room's door. You stepped backward, your hand still covering your mouth. Only you couldn’t step backward because you’re not alone.
His hands were on your shaking shoulders as he leaned in to whisper.
"Found you."
my first completed work for 2023 and it’s sukuna’s fic! it’s been so long!! apologies for the errors will fix them asap after i get some sleep TT___TT

HELLOOO CAN I JOIN THE MATCH UP THING????
As for fandom Blue Lock please 😋🙏
My pronouns are she/her and i like it when people call me Casey its my favorite nickname (casey was my fav from tmnt)
Tbh i dont mind anyone. But it would be better with mfs who survived from second selection? Also expect that monk guy i dont even remember his name 👿🙏
-> I LOOOVE JAPANESE ROCK. i am a big ass nerd for it 🤓 i am also an artist i love putting my emotions to my creatures (mostly rage and sadness lmao) i love reading mangas mostly psychological or horror stuff to lose my sanity. I also love watching animations! I still watch Cars idk what everyone thinks its still my favorite movie series of all time (Cars 2 solos) as for dislikes, basic mfs. But not every basic mf tho. The mfs who goes "eww what are you wearing?" And they wearing the most basic shit you could imagine. I respect everyone's fashion sense but if you make fun of others' style you are just meh. For short, karens? I hate karens. I also love yapping fr you could also realise it i cant shut up :D also tbh i dont have any idea bout my mbti. I have done a few tests and i always got esfp or entp. So lets say i am an extrovert 🙏🙏
As for love language, physical touch, quality time. I am an clingy person lol
I AM SHORT AF LMAOO 5'1-5'2 dont remember. But i am pround to say i have a hourglass-pear body 😈🙏😋🔥 i also have dark brown wavy hair which reaches to my shoulders. My friend said that i have doe eyes. And i am really pround of my long eyelashes tho :> my eye color is also dark brown but i am cursed with thick eyebrows 😞 as for aesthetic, it changes? But i am a gyaru. I just change my gyaru style everyday (sometimes stuff like agejo or hime, sometimes goshikku and rokku. You can search them up on google if you dont know them!)
Thats all i guess. Take your time no need to rush and also take care of yourself!!!!!!! Thanks again :>
I think you'd look good with...
Shidou Ryusei!
-> Right off the bat, idk you just seem like somebody who would get along with Shidou so well. It's a feeling- But anyway, you're both very extroverted and you both seem to like Japanese rock style music! -> Would be so down to just sit around and watch really anything with you, he would comment on basically everything so be ready for that, and be ready to tell him to shut up at parts of whatever your watching. Though sometimes his commentary is actually kinda funny, but still (Also the fact that you like cars, Icon. I love it so much as well<3) -> Have you seen this man? As far away from basic as like anything. You'll never have to worry about him thinking about how what you're wearing is 'ew'. He just seems like the type of guy to absolutely love the gyaru fashion aesthetic, no matter which way you do it! -> You also work so well together because you also appreciate horror stuff and things like that, and this mans favorite animal is a velociraptor.. because they looked cute eating people. Speaks for itself there. And the fact his favorite movie is 'A Clockwork Orange' which also falls under the category of 'Psychologically disturbing' . -> Will let you talk his ear off. He doesn't particularly mind, I mean as long as you're okay with his weird comments sometimes, and him constantly wanting to fight people if you say anything bad about them -> Also a very clingy person, and will have a hand or two on you at all possible times, no matter what. He loves being near you and loves it even more when he can hold your waist or your hand when walking basically anywhere! -> Will go on dates where you guys just go around shopping and he'll go into every store he thinks that you'll like and will find things that match with your aesthetic and any sort of accessory he thinks that will match your outfits and he'll get it for you, no questions asked.
Other potential Matchups - Bachira Meguru and Karasu Tabito

Higurashi When They Cry Hou Ch. 7 Minagoroshi pt. 31
My favorite arc/chapter/whatever term your prefer of Umineko is Chapter Seven. It featured a great amount of revelations in regards to the overall plot, and it featured some of the best, gut-wrenching writing I had seen in the Chapter 7 Tea Party. The main chapter itself ended on a wonderful note, a great blend of sadness, but optimism, only for the Tea Party to come along and just absolutely wreck the previously optimistic tone. It was, without exaggeration, so well written that I felt it absolutely made the entirety of that series worth reading just for that section alone. Which is remarkable to me, as with some of the earlier sections of Higurashi, I came perilously close to abandoning Umineko as well due to an intense dislike of portions of the narrative. I wish the tumblr search function was a more reliable device because there was a quote I saw regarding visual novels that summed up my experiences very well.
This will have to do. Basically the quote I’m thinking of describes VNs as a 40/60 mix of enjoyment to torture. Or something along those lines.
After the credits this comes up. Perhaps it says something about me, but I genuinely enjoy reading fictional documents like this in games and so on. Just little extra world-building minutiae of the day to day about people in the fictional universe. You won't see me passing up files in a survival horror on my first playthrough, oh no.
While this doesn’t outright confirm that Irie is dead, I feel it’s reasonable to assume that Irie “committed suicide” shortly before the gaming club got taken out by Takano and the Mountain Dogs. I feel it’s safe to assume Irie was the Institute Director, and Takano is the chief officer. And given what’s about to occur I really don’t think Irie would sign off on it. Also, everything from Emergency Manual 34 is in red text when it’s going line by line. As with Tsumihoroboshi the log just keeps it white on gray.
Could you imagine being part of this government kill squad, enacting your orders to kill the potential civilians in the telephone company building only to get killed by a different branch of the government kill squad? It’s like that scene at the beginning of the Dark Knight when the bank robbers are killing each other off as they do their job for the heist. Also, I could swear that they mention this quarry at some point earlier on in the series, but looking over my notes and screenshots I couldn’t actually find anything. So it may be I’m remembering something from a manga synopsis? Earlier than the post-game TIP at the end of Tsumihoroboshi I mean. Also, I might be jumping the gun here, but if your grand conspiracy is going to involve killing the entirety of Hinamizawa wouldn’t you burn the bodies afterward? They won’t find gunshot wounds in a pile of ash is all I’m saying.
I just love this little piece of the document. It seems to imply there actually is a giant Resident Evil laboratory filled with H173 and various other deadly diseases related to Hinamizawa Syndrome. So it seems that even though she was going insane with paranoia Rena was actually on to something when she said the secret research facility is located in the Irie Clinic. Someone should make a mod for Resident Evil 4 (original or remake) that replaces Leon with a Rena model. It would give me an excuse to play Resident Evil 4 for the thousandth time.
So, since Keiichi was taken in by the Secrecy Preservation Unit at the end of Tatarigoroshi why did they let him live for as long as he had? Was it because he was well and truly insane, thinking he had the powers of Oyashiro, so they let him live? Was it because this came out years after chapter three had been written, and therefore not really thought about back then? Or do you think he was found by the disaster recovery team instead?
Also this doesn’t have anything really to do with anything, but reading the emergency manual here reminded me of an old 1970s horror movie called The Crazies. It’s about an outbreak of a chemical that drives people insane and murderous in a small Pennsylvania town. And our protagonists have to escape from the military who was sent to contain the outbreak, and the titular crazies, who are sort of proto-zombies. There was a remake in 2010 or so, but I don’t remember that one being very good. Of course it’s been nearly twenty years since I saw the original, so maybe that doesn’t hold up either. It’s got a good poster if nothing else.
It’s interesting how this note portrays Hinamizawa Syndrome as a parasite infection disease as well as being a lifelong ailment that shows physical signs of the disease within ten minutes of infection. Maybe that’s to do with the version of the syndrome that was observed during the war? Which especially doesn’t add up because there was all that prior information of the disease more or less being eradicated at the time.
Now, when I read this last line something about this struck me as incorrect. The population of Hinamizawa had always been shown to be right around one thousand.
Here are screenshots from Himatsubushi and Tatarigoroshi where they talk about the death toll of the Great Hinamizawa Disaster. It’s not exactly the end of the world that this inconsistency exists, but it was just something that rubbed me wrongly when I read it. I don’t know when the population of Hinamizawa doubled, but there it is. I wonder if it’s a situation similar to the Ohagi translation issue in Onikakushi where they just said the wrong thing initially, and this version of the translation is the correct one. Like I said, it’s not the biggest issue in the world, just something that bugged me. Basically what I’m saying is we should string up MangaGamer by the short and curlies to make them pay penance for such a grievous oversight. Made the series completely unreadable it did.
You can tell this was translated within the last decade because of the use of “it’s current year!”
Without getting too far ahead of it, I don’t entirely understand how the Great Hinamizawa Disaster/Operation Doomsday will ascend Takano to godhood. Either of them really.

PART I: "Midlife Crisis for Dummies"
How would I describe a midlife crisis, in a nutshell? Complacency seeps in, slow and silent. Before you know it, you hate your job, your wife, yourself, and your life. The everyday routine that once brought you peace has turned on you. It sneaks into your home, screws your wife, and burns down the house with the kids inside—all in slow motion, right in front of you. And somehow, you've forgotten how to even find words for the feeling—not even to yourself. It's not like anyone would listen, anyway; you don't speak their language anymore, and they can't see you at all.
Halloween just passed, but that's not why I sketched the Invisible Man. I sketched him because I'm living through a three-year midlife crisis that started back in 2021 and hasn't let up. I used to think the "midlife crisis" was a myth. I mean, what could possibly top puberty? Many of us barely survived that as it is! But this feels a lot like puberty, minus the zits and hormone spikes (though there's still confusion, the feeling of being an outsider, and plenty of horniness and depression). After one of the most productive phases of my life, I lost touch with everything | ever believed in.
I drifted away, forgot how to connect with other people, lost my sense of self, my identity, my sense of belonging. Just like that, I was gone.
The first sign? An onslaught of angst and the overpowering urge to reread The Catcher in the Rye for what must have been the 25th time. At first, I wondered if this was puberty all over again-maybe thanks to the COVID vaccine. Once I started becoming aware of it, though, there was still nothing I could do. I got more depressed and suicidal than l'd ever been. Like so many creatives, I left art and comics behind years ago, focusing on a responsible, modest lifestyle, building a career and a family. By 29, I was an ordinary guy-content, or at least settling. Then life came along and sucker-punched me in the balls, stole my powers, and burned it all down. Out of nowhere, though, I felt the spark of something new. It was time to go on a quest.
PART II: "There and Back Again"
I wanted to draw the Invisible Man because that's exactly how I feel. I feel like Gregor Samsa, trying to murmur an "I love you" through my own twisted exoskeleton, only to terrify anyone who matters. I feel like Frankenstein, Godzilla, or Toru Okada in a surreal, postmodern search for meaning, lost in a dark hole. I am body horror-aging itself is body horror. It reminds me of that Cronenberg film Shivers, where an old man opens his trench coat to expose his shriveled body, croaking, "Even old flesh... is erotic flesh." It's grotesque, yet somehow, it's all part of this journey.
PART III: "How to Survive a Midlife Crisis (Or Any Crisis) "
How do you survive a midlife crisis—or any crisis? By diving into the toxic wreckage of this post-apocalyptic, dystopian nightmare we call life and finding the art buried inside. Let it in; let it take over like radiation or cancer. Become someone new-reborn, inspired, creating art and comics, and vomiting pop culture.
During the worst of it, I went back to my old survival strategy. I gorged on every piece of media I could get my hands on-comics, manga, art books, classics, film noir, vintage BDSM movies and magazines. I started drawing again, and fast. Now it's all coming together, fusing into something new. This is what I wanted. More to come?
P.S. Did I mention I might've jerked off 40 times a day and visited a few escorts in all this? Guess that should've been in here too, since I'm drawing hentai late at night.
Feels like this is going somewhere. I'll just have to follow my heart and see where it

Heavenly Delusion Episode 8: The Immortal Order
Searching for answers for both Maru and Kiruko, the pair are led to the headquarters of the Immortal Order. But, we quickly find out things are not at all what they seem, and we begin a spiral into a horror framed episode. Freakish human experiments, amputations and unauthorized surgeries, a thing you cannot call a human any longer being kept alive by technology, and something that lurks in the basement. What a terrifyingly good episode.
Hirotaka's overarching sense of direction was always something that would lend itself well to horror with how it holds static framing and places the focus on the interactions and acting of the characters, but paired with today's episode director I really feel like they took it up another notch.
There's lots of effort is placed on separating Maru and Kiruko in the layouts, whether it's vertical or lateral distance, or even not placing both within the same scene. But alongside that there's also a surprising amount of closeups on the characters to trend more towards the typical aspects of horror.
In terms of closeups, I really like these two because of how the characters move through the scenes. The second in particular is really impressive thanks to how well the light is animated.
Anyways, moving forward. Today's episode director comes in very strong with very angled shots to continue to add to that suspense and space within the basement that the pair explore. And even better is that they adhere to Hirotaka's sense of voyeurism and allow objects to occlude our view of the scene, so you end up with shots like this one of Kiruko carefully exploring the basement for any signs of a hiruko.
It's just really, really well suited to the fear and tension that the episode builds for this piece, giving viewers plenty of opportunities to get worked up about what's lurking behind each corner and in every shadow.
Also in terms of selling horror, this cut of Kiruko walking is really great. We're faced with her head on rather than being shown her back, so it goes in the complete opposite direction of Hirotaka's style to provide a scene far closer to horror in origin and feel.
And now we arrive at the climax of this horror, which I think they do an outstanding job with. They restrain themselves and don't go for jumpscares or anything primitive or childish within that range, and instead opt for that seeping terror. Something that appears slowly, but remains absolute in the character's vision, something that they are forced to recognize and become aware of as it creeps towards them.
Once more, you'll also see that they make full use of intense camera angles and closeups to bring that horror closer to the surface. To take the first person perspective of Kiruko looking down at the monster, and then follow up with a closeup on their reaction, it's a really great approach to cultivating and expressing that fear to the viewer.
Also, while you might be able to say it's "only" a stylistic choice, the color palette once Kiruko finds the big/parent hiruko becomes skewed. It's a really really great and subtle difference that gives viewers a visual cue as to what's happening, to sort of hint that things aren't exactly as they seem. Such a great idea considering the manga was unable to play with color to provide hints and context clues to readers during this piece.
Anyways, just more of the aggressive camera angles, layouts, and close ups because they're so damn good.
And then there's the icing on the cake with this sequence. The desperation in Kiruko's voice, the slow but deliberate movements to show Kiruko how unstoppable these monsters are, the terrible sounds that arise from their bodies. It's all incredibly harrowing and disturbing, and continues to play right into the hands of the staff. High overhead camera positions, intense angles and first person perspectives, closeups that provide the intensity and fear in each moment, and a soundtrack that plays directly into that fear. It's just such an incredible scene that caps off the brutal and terrifying basement sequence.
Anyways! We've made it out the other side of the horror, so I'll just touch on a few other clips and aspects of the episode, because largely speaking, this basement sequence is where we're led.
Yes, there's pieces about Kiruko's nerves getting to her because she's got a chance of meeting Dr. Usami, but the pieces like that are rather clear cut and well enough expressed that I don't feel a need to touch upon them.
So, the cool pieces. I really like how static the framing is on Maru and Kiruko's conversation with Liviuman. They continue to make use of that first person perspective within this conversation as well, which leads to some great scenes, and even pieces that prep viewers for horror, like this dolly zoom. Of course, the sequence isn't without its opposing scenes that play further into that sense of voyeurism and tie into the high angle and distant direction of the basement sequence. It's really impressive how well they're able to juggle the two opposing approaches, and reconcile them with one another to create a cohesive feel.
Before getting to the last real piece of discussion, I just wanted to mention how well the comedy does in this episode to break tensions and restart the process of building it back up. Just the right amount of pause before engaging in the humor, and it's very casual and simple stuff that doesn't take much to be well delivered. A really simple piece, but I feel like it does a good job of giving breaks and helping the episode feel less like a constantly spinning wheel, and more like a varied climb towards its peak.
So, the very last piece: Liviuman and The Immortal Order. I really like how they depict both of these organizations in the anime, with the additions of motion and sound. Not that you can't get the same vibe from both in the manga, but that it's a far stronger felt experience in the anime.
Liviuman is sensationalist, they're over the top and incredibly into what they're doing, believing themselves to be perfectly in the right as a group against most of technology. It's just... hard, to fall in with their side when The Immortal Order has been nearly indifferent to the protests of Liviuman. Even further is the fact that Liviuman's leader, Mizuhashi, had their leg amputated, but admits to the fact that they suffered an injury to it. They pretty well neglect giving the entirety of the information in regards to the issue, as Mizuhashi themselves sought out treatment from The Immortal Order.
Anyways, I'm getting a bit off track, the point is that the anime does a really great job of showing the dichotomy between the terrible and unethical Immortal Order, and the faithful and pure Liviuman with sequences like this one. You really get a feel for how things are actually going down between the two groups when you get to see one of them like this.
And that brings us to the end of this episode. I would say it's very much one that serves to show viewers things, rather than one that weaves foreshadowing and theories into it. In a sense, it's a really straightforward episode about getting Maru and Kiruko into The Immortal Order. But, of course, Hirotaka, Production I.G, and Ishiguro sensei are all far better than that, so we get a look into how religion and other forms of belief are able to twist and malform populations. The simple act of not understanding allows groups to twist perception and belief and create sensationalist movements that, say, isolate humanity from technology. So at the end of the day, there's still some higher takeaway from the episode alongside it's incredible cultivation of horror and fear.

You Can't Always Be Your Own Knight In Shining Armor
Five hours.
Five long hours.
That's how long you had been stuck in a room with dozens of other terrified omegas. That's how long it had been since the league broke into the college you were visiting and kidnapped a bunch of people. Students, faculty, visitors. You were all the same now, omegas shoved into a small, dark room, waiting for whatever would happen next. You weren't exactly sure what was being planned but you knew it couldn't be good. You had recognized several different League of Villain members.
The door opened up and in walked Dabi. The pyromaniac who looked like he spent way too long in a sun tanning booth. His eyes scanned over the group of you before he stopped at the front of the room. "YN." He called out your name, causing your pulse to race. Why on earth were you singled out? He made eye contact with you, his piercing blue eyes staring down into your soul. "Come here" He ordered. You felt yourself slowly move forward, unable to really feel your legs beneath you as fear ran through your body.
"The rest of you will follow Kurogiri and Compress out to another location. Your families are all coming for you." He watched the other two villains lead everyone out before grinning, bringing a hand onto your shoulder. "You, however, are so much less fortunate. You see we kidnapped you all to entice the heroes to come and play with us, but I figured we may as well get something else out of holding you all here. So, we send ransom letters out to everyone's family. It is a college known for the powerful and wealthy to go. However, you don't attend the school, do you?" He grinned as he let go of your shoulder and began circling around you. "You had no records. The only thing we could find was an application to be an apprentice to the school's healer. You have a decently impressive resume. Graduated top of your class both in Highschool and college. Lots of volunteer work. I imagine you could have had any position you wanted. Unfortunately, you have no record of any family history. No parents, siblings, uncles, nothing. No social media presence to speak of. If it weren't for your resume and public records, we'd have had no idea who you were. It's a shame that your hard work is all going to go to waste all because you're unwanted."
You narrowed your eyes and reached out to slap him, the offensive comment causing you to be a lot bolder than you'd ever been before. Before you could make the connection, he caught your hand. A sadistic grin spread over his face as he tightened his hand, crushing yours beneath his. You screamed out in pain, yanking your hand back to cradle against your chest as he released you.
"Try that again and you'll wish you hadn't. The heat houses have plenty of healers that will put you back together once I'm finished with you." His grin widened as he saw the look of horror wash over your face. "Did your situation finally sink in? No one is going to come searching for you. No one knows your here." He stepped closer, running a hand down your cheek. "Maybe I'll just keep you instead. Keep you as my little toy, my plaything." You squeezed your eyes closed, begging for all of this to be over, for it to have been a terrible dream that you could wake up from.
He took a step away from you and you felt your body relax ever so slightly. "Oh you're going to be a fun little thing to break." Dabi smirked before looking over as Mr. Compress walked back into the room. He was a bit less threatening as Dabi was, being a beta who was a bit smaller than the alpha who had been threatening you. Dabi walked over to him and the two spoke in hushed tones. "Alright little Omega, my friend here is going to make sure you get hidden away for me to have my fun with. I'll be back for you soon." He winked before making his exit.
Alright this was your chance. You could do this. The door was not too far away from you. If you ran fast enough there was a chance you'd be able to make it through before Mr. Compress got ahold of you. You would just need to wait for the right moment. You watched as the villain came closer to you. You knew what his quirk was, anyone with a half decent television would have known all about the different LOV members. There was no doubt that Dabi was going to have Compress put you in one of his strange marbles before relocating you. You couldn't let him get his hands on you, but you'd use his attempt to catch him off guard.
Just as you'd predicted he reached for you. You waited until he was moments away from contact before grabbing his arm and using his own momentum to send him into the wall. It caught him off guard. Clearly he wasn't used to civilians, especially omegan civilians, fighting back against him. It was perfect. You bolted for the door, going as fast as possible.
It was a short-lived victory. You should have known the villains would be too smart to leave a hostage alone with only one other person to guard them. There were two other guards right outside of the door. That was it. This was your only shot at escape and it was already over before you could really even try. You heard Mr Compress groan as he got up and came back over to you. "Don't make this difficult." He spoke as he reached out for you again. This was the end. Game over. There was no hope for your escape now.

It all begins thanks to a horse riding incident, poor Penelope, she was bedridden for weeks. I heard crude things such as "expect for worse" or "I don't think she will wake up" and I was right there to tell how my dear friend will wake up. Her father, the poor soul, was in a state of melancholy holding the hopes of his daughter to wake up but preparing to bury her, preparing her funeral.
I confess a part of me was afraid of this. See, the damage was quite severe and healing potions only go so far.
But a miracle did happen and my dear friend Penelope woke up. Well, it was jubilation for everyone around, until, Penelope confess she has amnesia and don't remember who we are.
It was heartbreaking but...it is better than burying her too soon.
Things change...
For once she started harassing the maids-I must interlope here how I'm not from the family, per se, but as we are or were best friends and live so close, I could walk inside the mansion-slapping one for, in her words, saying insolent things.
Her father was appalled by this. Not only did he put her on time out-she is a bit older for such thing-but apologies to the maids. The maids have a union, thanks for that.
Medical fees and compensation are in order. Said maid quit and the others follow along in solidarity.
"I can't believe she did that" I was shocked as was her father. Penelope's mother passed away when she was younger but no one in this family-nor in mine- would strike a maid or any worker.
I wanted to give the benefit of doubt to my friend and think it was a one-time thing. How maybe she was confused, however, as she starts to complain about her weight and went to drastic measures to be thin...I start to worry.
Please, I'm not trying to downplay the slap...it's just Penelope started drinking illegal substances just so she could be pretty. One time I visited and implored her to stop. "YOU CAN DIE...THIS IS ILLEGAL FOR A REASON"
Her answer still left me speechless.
"YOU WANT ME TO BE FAT SO THE PRINCE WILL FALL FOR YOU. I READ THE NOVEL, I WON'T BE YOUR PUPPET"
what?
She got to be thin...and almost died. By sheer luck of good timing, she is not a thin body in a coffin. Sadly, she is not over. She started making wild accusations against her father-he wants to marry her to some fat duke for the money, her words- speaking nonsense about me being a villainess who wants to marry...her prince.
She...started to scare me. The same goes for some of the employees as they are quiet working there, I heard Penelope is not pleasant anymore...she is talking about money...and even talked about buying a slave.
Her father slaps her out of pure shock and horror. "Slavery is over for good, how dare a daughter of mine to even mention such a thing?" Penelope forgets her family comes from abolitionists?
Did she really forget her origins?
Did she forget my own origins?
Penelope is sicking down and down in the rabbit hole. No one visits Penelope anymore, she is sent to a special place-her father thinks she is insane-and I don't know why I'm here, to begin with.
I think I still remember that little girl who used to hold my hand when we run in the garden.
Penelope is sure skin, too skinny.
"Hi, Penelope" I greet her. I'm so sad and confused. "How are they treating you?"
"You wait till the prince hears about all this, you villainess" she threats me, not old. Still hurts. "I'll have my happy ending. An ending Penelope deserves, way better than what the manga gave me to me"
"Wait, what?"
"I'm not the real Penelope. I'm sent here to correct a wrong...she deserves to have the prince, not you"
I narrow my eyes. "Wait, are you...one of those new souls?" transmutation is rare, not unheard.
So...where is the real Penelope?
"Where is the real Penelope then?"
"In Chae-Song's body. My old life"
What else I can do? I left her there and went to search for a wizard, I should have talked to the family first, I know but...I had no time to waste.
"Korea, Seul. But to speak to her it may take some time"
I can wait(and will explain everything to the family as well) I just want to see my friend again.
Your childhood friend has been acting strange. In addition, they started doing things that they’ve never shown interest in before. Rigorous exercise, obsessive reading, even martial arts and weapons training. Today marks four years since their abrupt change. Finally, you find out why…
#testing my writing#my writing#story prompt#short story#writing prompts#based on isekais where “I'm on this new bodyand I remember the plot of this comic I read with perfection” like come on...#also don't like when isekais are “lets put women versus women bc a man is important”#and I hate the slavery trope in those damn isekais

Japanese folktales inspiring fighting games
Yokai have been a key source of inspiration for characters in anime and manga for years. Some of the best known and popular series use Japanese folk tales and mythology as the basis of their plots. Even the most casual of anime fans have a passing knowledge of yokai – name an anime fan you know that hasn’t seen the Oscar award winning spirited away.
But it’s not just anime and manga that have dipped their toes into the world of jumping umbrellas and turtle men balancing dishes of water on their heads – kasa-obake and kappa respectively. Video games are well known for their love for Japanese folklore and the creeps.
One genre of games that have taken great inspiration from Yokai and Japanese folktales has been fighting games.
Bishamon: Darkstalkers series
It’s funny – despite the series drawing from mythology and horror creatures for its cast, the Capcom developed Darkstalkers series actually has little in ways representation of Japanese folklore and Yokai. That said, the walking set of samurai armour Bishamon makes up for this dearth in spades.
Bishamon is surrounded by floating blue flames called Hitodama (said to be the souls of the dead separated from their bodies) while the idea of a possessed set or armour is often compared with tsukumogami – tools or items that are inhabited by a spirit, or Yokai that have lived so long they’ve have since transformed into an object.
Bishamon wears his ghostly inspiration on his sleeves, with moves such as the oni kubi hineri summoning spectral hands to squeeze the opponent, while the tsurane giri conjures up a line of ghostly samurai to slice up your enemy.
Oni: Street Fighter series
Throughout Street Fighter’s history, the character Akuma (aka Gouki) has been gifted with a number of different forms and costumes the emphasise his place in the roster as the big bad, the final boss and major antagonist for main character Ryu.
The fourth mainline game in the series saw a number of revisions, each adding a handful of new characters to play with. The last update to the game, Ultra Street Fighter Four, added a new form for Akuma to cement his place as the main antagonist – Oni.
Oni have been a constant source of inspiration for a number of video game characters, often used as visual shorthand for the character’s rage, bestiality and sometimes, stupidity. In the broadest of terms, oni are known for their superhuman strength and have been associated with powers like thunder and lightning, along with their evil nature manifesting in their propensity for murder and cannibalism.
Having thrown away his humanity in the search for power, Akuma’s transformation into Oni also invokes other parts of Japanese mythology and religion. His design is evocative of beings such as Fūjin and Raijin, the Shinto gods of wind and thunder respectively.
Orochi: King of Fighters series
Another fighting game final boss and another character that draws inspiration from Japanese myths and legends. Deviating a little from the original tale told in the Nihon Shogi, Orochi is still a monstrous eight headed serpent with a penchant for evil.
Unlike his mythological counterpart, King of Fighter’s Orochi is described as the will of the planet that does anything to keep the planet safe from any perceived. As you can probably guess, the greatest threat to the planet is the deadliest animal of them all – man! Thus begins a campaign to wipe out the human race in a misguided attempt to go back to when things were better before they came along. They took er jerbs!
Orochi’s in game design doesn’t really scream ancient Japanese deity. In fact, the white trousers, bare chest with tattoo design is a little bare bones in a series renowned for stylish characters. Still, if anything I hope I’ve inspired you enough to learn more about the original story.
Hisako: Killer Instinct
Let’s take a quick detour away from the ‘Land of the Rising Sun’ to explore how Japanese folklore has been represented in the West and it’s fighting games. Rare’s Killer Instinct has drawn inspiration from many sources for its diverse cast of characters, but none wear their influence on their kimono sleeves than Hisako.
Hisako’s spooky visage is directly based on an Onryō or avenging ghost, a spectral being born from a person dying – often a woman – with hatred and resentment in their heart. These vengeful spirits go out into the world seeking to right the wrongs caused to them in live, often resulting is death and disaster wherever they roam.
Onryō in popular media often recognisable by their long, unkempt black hair and deathly pale faces – a holdover from their depiction in kabuki theatre. Hisako follows this visual shorthand, but adds a bit of visual flair with the inclusion of a beautiful red kimono and the use of a naginata as her signature weapon.
Sanpei: Blood Warrior
Meet Sanpei and there’s no other way of putting it other than he’s a kappa. Giant turtle man? Check. Little dish for water on his head? Check. Move set that takes heavy inspiration from tokusatsu legend and giant turtle monster Gamera? Check?
Sanpei made their debut in Shogun warriors where they were named Kappa (yeah, they really weren’t trying too hard with the green fella). They were swept up with a majority of the cast to join its sequel Blood Warrior, a poor man’s attempt at replicating Mortal Kombat’s success by having all the characters portrayed by digitised actors and shovelling in copious amounts of gore.
This results in a rather goofy turtle man portrayed by a poor actor in a Poundland Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles costume breathing blue flames on his enemies and darting around the screen in a rocket propelled fashion much like his big screen kaiju brother.

One Piece Odyssey is a truly remarkable JRPG for 2023
One Piece Odyssey is an exciting new Japanese role-playing game spinoff of the massively popular manga and anime franchise. While it has a difficult start, One Piece Odyssey isn't just a quick money-making venture based on intellectual property dynamism; it's a full-fledged JRPG that feels like it's pushing One Piece to new gaming heights thanks to its incredible design, storytelling, characters, and new twists.
Story One Piece Odyssey commences with Luffy and his crew sailing across the oceans, looking for adventure. Then, a storm strikes and causes havoc on the Thousand Sunny boat, and they also get washed up on an unknown island. When they meet a couple of the isle's population, it becomes clear that leaving this location is not an easy feat, particularly anytime their power is taken away. It's going to need the full team to come together to restore their particular property and set sail again. With regards to the tale, as it concerns The Straw Hat Crew, it's an interesting mix with a new, overarching, fresh narrative that's associated with a retelling of classic stories that are based on the manga. The latter involves the island as well as two brand new heroes created by Eiichiro Oda, delving into their valuable pasts and present problems. Meanwhile, the search for cubes that may reinstate the team's abilities will require the characters to go back to the past. This is a fair balance between the old and the new content, providing a solution for both returning supporters and newcomers. Best PS5 games are available to purchase here.
Combat No matter how good a game's story and characterization are, it will fall flat if the experience of playing does not generate. However, this isn't the situation with One Piece Odyssey. There's a very good balance between fighting and excitement, with a lot of investigating to do and even some fun puzzles to play with in the game's various rooms that resemble dungeons. In addition to the main story, you will discover an abundance of side content to concern yourself with. Concentrating solely on the key story will make you spend about 30 hours in the game. Clean up all the mess, and perhaps multiply that. Combat is a large part of the adventure. Combat is a turn-based game, with participants typically controlling four of the entire Straw Hat pirates on the battlefield at any given time. Each moment, you have the option of hitting enemies with your standard attack, making use of an item, or unleashing your most effective unique attack.
Roles Each character has their own unique and amazing aptitudes: Luffy, for example, has a body made of rubber, whereas Usopp is a sniper. Food items that boost status and food, as well as balls that reduce attributes that can be thrown at intractable foes, become increasingly important, as does the equipment strategy, which is essentially an area on which you must fit in differently designed objects that boost each character's specific statistics, become increasingly important. It's the first major discount we've seen on the cheap PS5 horror games.
Visuals at Acoustic Design Visually, Odyssey appears stunning. The attack animations are ripped straight from the source material, and the world is graphically enjoyable. Eiichiro Oda's distinctive hero style is in full bloom, with new beasts and roles designed specifically for recreation. This will keep in spirit with the source material through its goofy designs. The music and sound design are generally equally appealing, with bouncy, energetic songs that will be familiar to those who have viewed the show. The voice acting is as remarkable as it would be throughout the anime, with the original cast lending their particular voices once more. There is no Italian dub, but unless you're fluent in Japanese, you should be reading a lot!
Bottom Line One Piece Odyssey shines in every single part of an RPG and is true to its source. The combat is entertaining and easy to play, which is the base of the play. I'd recommend it to everyone who's never played a turn-based game before and is enthusiastic about discovering its possibilities of it. The islands people visit are unique while not being overly large. The story plot presents exactly what makes One Piece exceptional and remarkable. For the answer posed previously, One Piece Odyssey is both a good RPG and a great One Piece game title.

Five books of 2022
A lot has gone on over the past year, a wonderful relationship and living out the dream of becoming a married man, new jobs, being forced into unemployment due to disability TWICE, and watching the beautiful growth of the friends I love, which has given me much time to sit and read, and at the same time, not enough at all. I normally try to read at least a book a week, or something that amounts to that, to have the target of 52 books in a year. I've done this for years, ever since I had been first involved in assisting to found and operate a children's literary program in my home state of Connecticut. This year, I only recorded reading 40 books, including some manga and graphic novels as well. I'd like to list a few of the books or series I'd read, and encourage others to pick them up and experience the same.
1: Your Inner Fish (Neil Shubin) a book about the discover of tiktaalik; the first know landwalking creature and a step of evolution that brought about everything we know today. Shubin is a paleontologist and his team were the ones who found this ancient ancestor of ours, and his book is a wonderful excursion into that world of history and biology that inspires the reader to trek out in search of fossils of their own. He also gives pointers to beginners on where to look and how to search.
2: The Hussite Trilogy (Andrzej Sapkowski) The author of the Witcher series has written a second series, the three books Tower of Fools, Warriors of God, and Light Perpetual. The books were written two decades ago now but have only just been translated in the wake of the Netflix (Bastardizing) adaptation of his more popular media. While the Witcher universe and characters are bold and lush, the Hussite trilogy is doubtlessly the better written series. Main character Reinmar of Beilawa is accused of witchcraft and heresy in Christian Silesia during an era of war, and the series follows the rambunctious young alchemist and his newfound friends; a penitent and a spirit from beyond possessing the body of a giant, as they wisp back and forth through crusades and the boundaries of the physical and spiritual world. A wonderfully entertaining series that demands polylinguism from the reader, but it must be said that the book was written in a time and place without tact, and makes use of harmful stereotypes about people with mental handicaps.
3:Monotone Blue (Nagabe) a manga about two young gay men, one a cat and the other a lizard with a shining blue tail. The short one shot manga romance follows an apathetic and depressive cat who is simply bored with his life, focusing on expressing his monotonous life through partial color-blindness, until a transfer student, the only lizard he's met at this point in his life comes in, and his shining bright blue tail is accidentally exposed, garnering attention from the cat. The two act as an unlikely pair, and don't fully understand each other, but fall in love as they begin to comprehend their emotions together. The story does require a content warning of abusive behavior and sexual assault.
4:The Things They Carried (Tim O'Brien) I'm not normally one to be interested in military stories, as I've always found them to be romanticized versions of events, glorifying war or soldiers and letting the readers remain ignorant of the horrors it causes. However, this was a recommendation of a good friend of mine, and I picked up a copy with mild expectations. This is the first war story I have read that treats "Our boys" with the level of cold realism I feel is necessary for talking about war, especially real wars. The Things They Carried is about a troupe of American military men, following primarily one soldier in an auto-biographical format from just before the war and his thoughts and impulses to dodge the draft, to long after the war has ended, as a man who put the killing past him and holds no grudge- and thinks that the Vietnamese have also forgotten the ravages to their home country. This book carries the weight of acknowledgement, that our good old boys were gleeful in killing children, tying explosives to animals, burning villages and raping women. There are chapters where the biographer calmly talks about shooting every man and boy in a village as revenge for one of his comrades being killed by a sniper, and then just as calmly talks about his meal the next night. This book explains war as it is.
5: The Order of Time, and Helgoland (Dr. Carlo Rovelli) Two introductory books to quantum physics written by one of the most brilliant physicists we have today, these two books teach from a base level what the fundaments of advanced physics are, the coming about of quantum physics, and explanations about space time and the structure of the universe. While sometimes you may find yourself reading the same page again to ensure yourself, the work of this physicist in particular function as a fine diving board to get into the sciences with.

First things first: I would change so much of MHA, but if I must make somehow still reconizable...ok. I kill the Shimura - a caveat here is how I try to make the scene less ridiculous. I like Shig's origins but at the same time "everyone dies" seems a waste. Maybe I make smth a la batman "a criminal picks the wrong house, wrong day"- and they are mourned, people talk about this.
Inko is a reporter in this au. She is a good mom. By this ...Izu is not in Aldera nor is saddle with abuse...people dont get why he wants to be a hero but treats as if is smth temporary "ah how many kids say they want to be astronauts until they give up?"
Inko did work on the cover of the Shimura fall. Miss Curious, in her young years, was there as well.
There is one body missing. Baby Tenko. It became an urban legend. Beware or Baby Tenko will get you.
AM was in the funeral and was heartbroken...Nana sacrificed so much and...she lost all. His tears are a mix of hers. Nana is feeling and seeing - thanks to ofa- what happened to her family.
She is heartbroken.
She is anger.
Enters Izu in a few years. He is a normal kid, living a normal life. (No quirkless discrimination, nor bad parents. Just a simple life) his friends think is odd he wants to be a hero but shrugs off.
Izu loves quirk analysing ...and horror movies/books. One day after seeing Mt. Lady being her greedy self (I dont mind that scene at all) Izu goes to a place to get a new volume of his fav horror manga....and he sees a pale teen with blue hair and red eyes.
Ita Shig!
They form a bond. Its not everyone who likes horror movies for what they are.
Shig is adopted by Kuroboro who turns into villany bc he got so resentful. Heroes are split with classism...unless you are from a big clan or have money...your only choice is to pray to god to have a OP quirk otherwise....
Oboro was in debt. Oboro was desperated and Aizawa not having to lift a finger didnt help. He is from an old money family and acta as if he has to struggle more than Oboro...Maybe he does...the problem is how Aizawa looks down on others. Oboro'a poverty is a novelty...until it became a reason to santify him.
Oboro...sees a kid cover in blood and looking scared...he takes him in.
No tomura shigaraki bc that is a cruel name.
Maybe a variation of Tenko.
Or he calls himself dust. Dont know.
Izu is not called deku either.
Izu saves PoS bc he sees how he is almost dying on the sludge attack...and the scene goes as canon...but AM steps in and says "kid, good job" and the heroes stoo chiding and scowlding him to say "yep. That was amazing"
Am is that famous.
Izu gets ofa (no bk 3.0 or Bruce here)
Afo? He is a bully with a tiny brain...he still wants his brother back...and is willing to do whatever...oh right same plan again. The dr mentions if he is still searching for the missing Shimura.
Afo:😂🤣😂😐no. Hope the kid is dead.
Meanwhile Tenko is plotting smth. What could be?
This is my hook for the first part of mha rewrite.
Guys, just wanna know what's your take on this question of mine
All Might is a pivotal figure in the MHA verse and so is Shigaraki due to his family bloodline. Would you guys, in any part of your MHA rewrite have had AM confront Shigaraki or would you leave that for Izu to handle the situation. AM has a saviour like complex, he wants to save everyone. After knowing Shigaraki's relationship with his mentor, Nana Shimura, do you guys think it would be AM's nature to reach out and help Shigarki?
My question may sound very stupid and ridiculous but it just had this thought suddenly pop into my mind. Do let me know
