oh you're in a horror film/book and your phone died/has no bars? how boring. I think phones in horror SHOULD work. they should ding only to have the protagonist check and find nothing. they should get calls from somebody you don't know but is still somehow in your contacts. google maps should lead you to one place, no matter what address you type in.
phones are such a big part of our daily lives, removing them from horror removes the horror from our experience. what if the horror felt like it could happen to you, right here, right now? what if it felt like it was already happening?

I don't care what anyone says. I keep seeing Dom-Eddie this and Top-Eddie that.
I accept nothing less than Eddie learned about Queer culture and immediately put a handkerchief into the wrong pocket just because he thought it looked cool.
You cannot convince me that at some point an experienced gay who assumed Eddie was all dom and tough wouldn't stop in his tracks and watch this boy call over a group of people just so he can show them that Steve can benchpress him like a sack of flour.
You absolutely cannot convince me that Eddie doesn't make a character in D&D that's based after Steve thinking he's being so subtle about it, when in reality everyone knows it's Steve because Eddie spends a good ten minutes describing how strong and amazing and good the character smells.
It also doesn't help that he invites Steve for the practical demonstrations.
"Hey Steve!" he'll shout over everyone's heads towards the other boy sitting on the ratty couch reading a gossip magazine.
Steve would perk up. "Yeah?"
"I'm trying to demonstrate how this orc might throw someone over their shoulder." Eddie will never admit he swoons, even while he twists his curls around a finger and swings his feet under the table. "Could you...?"
"Oh! No problem!"
"He really doesn't have to," Gareth will say, weakly.
"We can envision it, we really can!" Lucas adds.
Eddie's already got his shining eyes set on Steve, vibrating out of his skin while Steve gives his muscles a preemptive stretch. "Yeah, but I really want to make this experience immersive. Now, fair knight, give me my uppies."
Everyone in Hellfire is so happy that Eddie is happy but they're absolutely suffering.

Sometimes, I think about how much Alhaitham's entire adult life has been shaped by Kaveh and I just... have to sit down for a second.
Kaveh was Alhaitham's first, and, as far as we've been told, only friend until recently. At the very least, Kaveh was likely his only close friend throughout Alhaitham's entire schooling years, from teens into adulthood.
Alhaitham lives in the house he received for his work with Kaveh. The house Alhaitham lives in wouldn't even exist without Kaveh.
Alhaitham's ideology and behavior have been shaped by his diametric opposition to Kaveh's perspectives. He acts and thinks the way he does in part because of how their debating over years shaped how Alhaitham sees the world.
He's become an active part of a friend group almost entirely because of Kaveh. Alhaitham's story quest says that he didn't become particularly friendly with the rest of Sumeru's saviors even after they saved the archon, but now we see him hanging out with Cyno and Tighnari all the time because Kaveh was friends with them first and eased the way.
He even drinks a particular brand of coffee because he and Kaveh picked it together.
If you removed all trace of Kaveh from Alhaitham's life, virtually nothing would be the same. He wouldn't live where he does now. His house wouldn't look like it does inside at all. He very likely wouldn't have a single close friend. His ideology would probably be significantly more pragmatic and cold. Literally the only thing in Alhaitham's current life that hasn't been shaped in some way by Kaveh is Alhaitham's job. Which is... probably why work is Alhaitham's least favorite aspect of life.
Meanwhile, Kaveh is honest to archons over here wondering "What does Alhaitham even think about me?"
I don't know, buddy, probably that you're his whole world?

if byler isn't endgame, why did they let it drag on for so long?
why have they been building it up season after season? why haven't they had mike reject will already?? why didn't they resolve it in the same season where it's a major plot point??? why are they giving us the possibility that it could happen if it's not????
why even give Will a crush on Mike?????

Good Omens Fandom assemble! It's that time again...
Another Amazon Prime poll that we need to turn around. You know what to do:
https://www.youtube.com/@PrimeVideo/community
Currently at 25% in 3rd place, but I know we can change that quickly. NOTE: if you're on mobile open the link in your browser and choose 'desktop mode' to view the community tab (shoutout to everyone who put this tip in the comments of my last poll post!)

What Good Omens 2 did for me in the span of a year:
* got me out of a 15 years long writing drought
* got me out of depression at the same time
* allowed me to meet wonderful friends all around the world (you know who you are)
* helped me understand and embrace being nonbinary and all the little spicies of gay that I am
* got me to painting and drawing
* saved my life
It's not been a perfect year, especially after the Gaiman accusations, but Good Omens and the Fandom have been wonderful for me and I am forever thankful 💛
I hope we continue to enjoy our silly little fictions and drawings together for a very long time 🫶🏻💛
Thank you Good Omens 😇😈

i think the thing thats getting me most about the watcher situation is that the worth it style videos aren't even the issue ??? like. Spending 1,000$ on food for content isn't the issue
the issue is paying 13+ staff members on a fucking lets play video, or a video of them just getting drunk in their own backyard.
example, their backrooms video game lets play Video which has 450K views and 21K likes
And I know some of these are repeat staff with more than one role but they have listed out:
HOSTED BY x2
DIRECTOR x1
PRODUCER x1
Tech Director x1
EDITOR x1
POST PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR x 1
PRODUCTION COORDINATOR x1
GAFFER x1
CAMERA OPERATOR x1
SOUND MIXER x1
PA x1
ASSISTANT EDITORx 1
LOGO DESIGNER x1
HEAD OF DEVELOPMENTx 1
HEAD OF PRODUCTION x1
HEAD OF POST PRODUCTION x1
EXECUTIVE PRODUCERS x3
that's at least 20 roles. Roughly, 10-12 people. They're paying 10-12 people for a LET'S PLAY VIDEO.
Markiplier, on his most recent let's play video, has 1.5 MILLION views, and 124K likes.
He has himself, and three editors. That's it. FOUR people.
I don't think you need 10+ people for a fucking let's play video watcher. I really don't think you do.
And clearly, their idea of 'quality' isn't what people flock too. Because Markiplier is literally sitting in a room with a facecam. And yet, watcher only has 45% of the views that mark does.
There's a reason.
People don't care about quality, they care about personality. If you think you need more money to create this content, then fix what you're doing, don't go panhandling from your fans? Look at other content creators to see what they do. There's a reason Mythical is doing as well as they are, there's a reason college humor got to the point of dropout after years. The method forward is not alienation or guilt-tripping of what 'real' fans do. The method forward is figuring out something more sustainable. Getting a quick and bigger influx of cash isn't sustainable, without the content and game plan to back it up.
