Here’s some sentences from chapt 16/15 which is now actually 17/15 … I’m a menace to word counts everywhere.

Buck sounds horrified and there’s something else there too, lurking behind the words. Eddie hates that he recognises it. Hates he knows what fear sounds like in Evan Buckley’s voice and that he hasn’t made it clear enough that that particular emotion in this particular context is extremely unnecessary.

Pouting as he reflects on the question and keeping his tone light and teasing he nods, “Yup, pretty sure you did.”

At least Buck is still looking at him, even if the blue skies of his gaze look overcast, a sky suddenly threatening rain.

“I’m sorry?”

It’s definitely a question, and it needs an answer, rolling his eyes, Eddie thinks investing in a kiss is the only way forward.
