man I truly think we fucked up with all the "popular" technological advancement but at the same time we managed to get to a point where we should know that we need to step back. go back.

I mean look at idk reusable pads. this is not a new thing, it is just a similar principle to clean cloth and gauzes our grandmothers would do but done better. so we advance to realise the initial concept was good enough. (like I honestly will not touch a reusable pad ever, and I adore my menstrual cup which tbh is a novelty).

I don't know why everything today comes in plastic but it does and my assumption based on conversations I've had with people is that it's just.. profit? and to top it off we as a society consume so much. so fucking much. we don't need to consume so much.

you don't need a new pair of sneakers. or shoes to go with that outfit. you don't need a new dress for every wedding or event you are invited to. you don't need a new purse to work with that outfit, and even if none that you have work I am sure someone in your close circle has one which works.

not to mention that our incessant consumption of goods and everything is just setting the deadlines for how quickly we need to deliver value. how quickly new content to consume needs to be churned out. how quickly and senselessly resources are spent and wasted and depleted.

what is the point of a new iphone every year? in multiple different variations? and not to shit only on apple but this is true for most tech companies. why are all of your laptop component soldered? and why do we still buy this shit with a promise of tiny improvements...

idk I may be wrong but every single time we purchase something thats new but unnecessary, a new trend that will become obsolete in about three months... we contribute to the failure of society. we contribute to the fall of us. we stab ourselves in the back I think?

and I say this as a person working in a specific industry that has been faced with deadlines which make no sense. as a person who was part of a strategic discussion on four day work week and one of key troubles for deploying a proper one was deadlines. where do the fucking deadlines come from? how do these mega companies (and we have one of these as a client) set their deadlines? when will they put out a new product? who dictates that?

because if phone sales drop this year they might fuck around with software and make some older versions obsolete by next year but if you refuse to buy a new phone and go for a used one that's perfectly functional then that fucks them too. i cannot imagine how many functioning phones there are just wasting away in some drawers (ive got two, both will be given away to family members who need an upgrade; but if I have two which used to be my work phones so imagine how many there are... perfectly functional wasting away).

anyway. everything and everyone and everywhere is being consumed so quickly and senselessly... and the only thing we are doing is fucking ourselves. and I know I know rich people will still buy ut blah blah... how many are there? how many rich people vs how many in still somewhat existing middle class? and even if you are someone who is well-off... this is on you as well. this is pretty much on everyone who cares about not working until the day we all drop dead or smth.

tyche is. yeah. “i’m the only normal person here” is a thought she has had multiple times throughout this game and it’s only true to an extent. because everyone else around her just leads very intense lives. a woman who thinks the only way out is through but instead of finding a path out she thinks she can just chainsaw her way out of the hedge maze if it gets her to her destination faster. chronically unable to say “i love you” and avoids getting attached. this whole thing was meant to parallel solas a little and the talk they have in the fade where she’s like “…was there nobody in the inquisition you care about” is almost desperate. solas picks up on that like it’s a surprise tool that will him him later

particularly, a big thing for her is her family, her life in rivain, and how she spends most of this game tearing herself up about it and refusing to get them involved in this ‘saving the world’ bullshit she’s doing. woman who writes to her mother and says “everything is fine. this is the easiest job i’ve ever done. the elven gods are stupid as fuck btw” and the letter is about weisshaupt LOL .. one of the craziest things in vg for me was finding out just how many personal quests involved the companion’s families, because the more she saw her friends lose the more it solidified this idea in her mind that she has done the right thing by isolating her family. she’s usually very direct but this is the one thing she’s very touchy about.

the ‘tevinter slave’ thing that a lord of fortune rook mentions to me is a full out lie told by tyche so no one goes digging into her business. she originally went into this thinking “they less we know about each other, the better. i have a life to get back to after this” and then fails miserably at trying to stay detached and finds herself really liking everyone AND fully inserts herself into their business. she can’t just hear things like “my brother is being manipulated” “my mom doesn’t care about me” “my grandmother is gone” “my baby skeleton son who has done no wrong” “the dwarves need us” “i have to save the griffons. the identity crisis doesn’t matter so much” “i love my hometown and i can’t save it” etc etc and not desperately want to do something to help

sort of meta wise as well because people have critiqued how it’s always rook helping, but not the companions asking rook if they need anything. not to me. not if that was on purpose. a kind of, “i can fix this, and then we can all go home. because that’s what i want, of course. nevermind how these guys have changed my life. i’m sure the hole in my heart doesn’t mean anything”. AND its HEAVY on the lucanis romance. every moment she spends with him, the worse she falls in love, and the more she’s convinced there’s nothing but tragedy to come when he leaves her for the crows. the nuclear level fallout that almost occurs when lucanis says he’ll stay with her as long as he can hold off the crows is so bad. she takes her own duties so seriously and doesn’t expect herself to be what changes things, for anyone. not even necessarily because of low self esteem, but that she is the most pragmatic woman alive, and to a fault <3

you can imagine the weeks when she’s trapped in the fade prison when her family actually shows up like “minrathous just got nuked and my daughter is nowhere to be seen. something has to be wrong. what the fuck happened” and everyone gets about a month to come to terms with the fact that tyche has lied for the better part of a year (not sure about veilguard timeline. i think its minimum 4 months) and unfortunately have to find out a lot more about her through her siblings, and get to stew on that information for a while. i picture awkward conversations and maybe some bickering, and it’s lucanis who is like “well right now she’s dead. so can we focus on getting her back so we can actually talk with her?” <- man who bared his whole life to her and found out she didn’t do the same. i love self sabotage. i think they have a very long talk when she gets back, and the last minute sex has to be shifted a bit in my mind to make some room for what tyche assumes will be a break up speech that turns into a declaration of love and patience. this rewires her brain

aaand the crow stuff (sorry it has taken so long to get here) makes more sense to everyone and how tyche has reacted when they see how much of a unit her family is. tyche can’t picture the kind of betrayal and fighting because she has never experienced it. there’s probably some longing from lucanis here (🌀🌀 oooh you wanna leave your fucked up home sooo bad 🌀🌀) . illario in particular to her is absolutely unthinkable, and despite my adoration for him, tyche hates his guts <3 she also is very close with her grandma and doesn't at all understand caterina, but she's also primed to expect the best from family and it doesn't totally compute what caterina has done until lucanis (or illario. the angst potentials of it coming from illario compel me) actually spells it out for her and then the family dinners get REALLY bad

Another one who doesn’t get scared, just really shy. You have seen him without a mask but he is still a little insecure about it (writing abt that later😍). So when you pull his mask down and kiss his lips he hides away sometimes~

“Shoji?” “Yes love?” You pull his mask down to give him a soft kiss on his lip before pulling it back up to not make him uncomfortable. He broke “that’s all~” “one moment…” he just crouches to the ground to hide for a second to think of a plan. When he’s done hiding he comes back up and kisses you back with rosy cheeks!

KOJI~

Just don’t, he will die, From being scared and or flustered. You have to warn him no matter what! So it normally goes like this

“Hey koji” “um…yes?” He only talks in private or if it’s important! “Im warning you, I’m gunna kiss you” “…hu-” smooch “there!…you gunna be ok?” He collapses to the ground hiding in his knees which are against his chest “mhm…” “your so cute~” “*squealing noise*”

His dislikes are slavers(he was a slave) and magic( his master was a mage and the lost of control in magic in DA can get you possessed by demons).

So pretty basic right? NO

Because in DA2 plotline is about the extreme corruption in handling mages and abuse of mages because of the fear they might become demons. It reaches to a point where mages are getting punished and even lobotomized for small errors.

Does Fenris have any sympathy? NO

That man hates magic with a burning passion.

Also heavily implied that "canonically" the main character ,Hawke, is also a mage.

You being a mage in a romance with Fenris will not mean you will not hear his spiels of magic and mages are evil. (he says it all the time)

You think the romance content will balance it out? NO AGAIN.

When this man admits his affection with you, a sex scene will happen but immediately after he will leave(for good reasons but still he leaves)

Canonically it will take another 3 years after this night for Fenris and Hawke to officially get together if you dont romance another character after that one night.

( You can literally start a different romance after Fenris leaves you after that one night and the romance with fenris will end but fenris will not be angry that you started another romance because you are not together! that means canonically your Hawke waited around 3 years for Fenris to get to healthier mindset for a relationship if you didnt romance anybody else.)

By the end he still hates mages and magic (except for you if played Hawke as a mage)

BUT

in his defense his romance was honestly worth it.

I read some opinions from some astarion fans are like saying that after the story of BG3 Tav will have a rough time with Astarion as he is recovering from abuse (him lashing out, self-destruction, and coping)

but Fenris' romance is a good idea on how Astarion and Tav could be after the game if you really want to go with Astarion is deeply traumatized and will have a long recovery.

Fenris is deeply traumatized and extremely prejudiced from his trauma. His romance with Hawke(you) gave him a support system but it didn't fix him

Fenris also aware how much work he needs to do for his recovery. That's why he leaves after that one night because he doesn't want to burden Hawke with his trauma.

You can start a different romance!

The only signal you have that Fenris is still very much gone on Hawke is the piece of cloth he will start wearing that is stolen from Hawke's wardrobe

Fenris' romance is what Astarion could be when he gets to the horrible parts of recovery.

While it is hard work it is definitely worth it to romance both characters

Sometimes I think damn Astarion is so hard to please and get his approval. Then I remember I romanced Fenris in DA2 and go aight nevermind Astarion's approval achievement is okay
