hi!! so this isn't actually the case as while gourdy was briefly mentioned in a trial, said trial had nothing to do with whether or not gourdy was "real" per se as much as. well. murder, actually. while gourdy WAS found out to be an inflatable steel samurai this was not brought up in the case at all as the veracity of gourdy wasn't really as relevant as the fact that the witness was looking for gourdy rather than at the murder she claimed to have seen. plus this was also a relatively small part of a MUCH larger trial which for those interested not only solved the dl-6 case but ALSO marked the end of prosecutor von karma's ~40 year long record and the court records are really a fascinating read through!!

The kiss was.... very morally dubious, yes, but I can see why he did it, both from a selfless and selfish standpoint. The way he pulled Till back in just to check the scoreboards behind him was insane. He wanted to make absolutely sure. I don't recall Sua ever having to check the scoreboards during her performance.

Sorry, about to go off on a tangent here, but I can't stop thinking about the differences between Ivan and Sua's sacrifices.

Ivan's plan of sacrifice was a lot less polished than Sua's was, most likely because Till wasn't performing to his usual standard (unlike Mizi, who sang her heart out for Sua). He needed to take drastic measures when he realized Till wasn't cutting it, but his fucked up little head also wanted one last extremely selfish act, an attempt to burn something into Till's mind. So why not hit two birds with one stone?

Sua's plan of sacrifice was a lot more simple, provided no more spectacle than what was promised of a normal contestant death. She knew she was loved, so her final act before death was to play her part in the performance she and Mizi dreamed of ever since they were young. All she wanted was to grant Mizi's wish before death. A celebration of their love. A final I love you.

Ivan was so desperate he went all out. He had to make big strides, perform explosive acts of passion and aggression. He had to force it, had to interrupt his own performance in order to get the outcome he wanted. Unlike Sua, he wasn't loved. He wasn't even looked at, so he had to take desperate measures to get even a sliver of the attention he craved. His final act was far from a gift, more like a plea. Less like I love you and more like Please love me.

I do love shoving Tim angst into my face like discount birthday cake, but this flavor of it does have an odd sort of dissonance with Preboot canon (and I assume post-Flashpoint as well) because when you stack the Batkids up, it's not that Tim is an outlier in poor treatment, it's that Dick & Jason are outliers in getting son-treatment.

Dick & Bruce have their decades long history of blurred lines of father-son, mentor-protege, brothers-in-arms, queer-coded make-your-own-family fantasy in an era when marriage wasn't an option, etc. Jason got adopted ASAP. Dick & Jason theoretically had enough year as Bruce's ward/son to establish family traditions.

Tim spent most of his in-universe Robin years as protege/partner to Bruce with no legal familial connections. It doesn't mean there couldn't be familial feelings (Tim & Dick slotted each other into brother roles early) but Tim wasn't regularly living with Bruce, and he compartmentalized hard enough that keeping 'family traditions' as a thing to do with Jack was important to Tim. Being invited to holiday celebrations was nice when Jack & Dana were out of town, getting a birthday cake from Alfred was nice, but it was a much bigger deal that Dana successfully nudged Jack into celebrating with Tim.

Barbara and Helena have their own family shit going on, and whether they get counted as Batkids varies. Jean-Paul Valley is in a cardboard box in the rain.

Stephanie lives with her mom, then in hiding with Leslie, and then her mom again. She has zero familial relationship with Bruce ever, and as far as I remember, never expresses a desire for one.

Cass lived with Barbara, or in her own separate mini Batcave, or in Bludhaven (until it went boom), and for most of Batgirl 2000 Bruce is keeping their relationship strictly Batgirl-Batman = protege-mentor (though he does act like a controlling dad sometimes, which Babs then chews him out for). Bruce doesn't tell Cass his identity and invite her to live in the manor, she figures it out herself and continues to keep living separately. Barbara is who Cass sees as mom/big sis, and who made an effort to give Cass civilian experiences.

Bruce does adopt Cass eventually, and it's couched very similarly to Tim; wanting to give her some stability and a legal tie to the Wayne family. Tim is under 18 and Cass over 18; Tim was already living at the manor by then, and I thiiiiink Cass is not?

Bruce's relationship with Damian is a disaster. If there's any Wayne Family Tradition stuff going on there, it's 100% Dick including Damian in a familial experience, and maybe post-rescue-from-timestream Bruce being nudged into doing it too.

Woobie Outlier Tim is tasty angst in the right mood, but it's not any more canon than Ice Queen Janet. Dick & Jason are the actual outliers, in the opposite direction.

Here's one of my continuity pet peeves. I don't blame anybody for this because continuity is huge, the writers themselves seem to forget this all the time, and WFA especially spreads a ton of misinformation, but it is something that'll make me instantly back out of any fanfic or headcanon that uses it as a basis.

If you create some tradition Bruce celebrates with his kids/Robins at certain points in their development -- especially if you're trying to comment on the Tim's 16th Birthday thing -- and you include Stephanie as a recipient in any way, you are 100% barking up the wrong tree.

Steph became Robin when she was 18. Maybe the last few months of 17 at the very youngest. We know this because she's two years older than Tim, and Tim's 16th was kind of a big deal. Steph's two months of probation (minus the three weeks she explicitly didn't work after the Scarab incident) was the longest she ever worked with Bruce in any capacity, and she didn't even know he was Bruce Wayne at the time. Prior to then her primary contacts were Tim and Cass, with some secondary training via Babs, Helena and the Birds of Prey that Bruce arranged but he only ever contacted her sporadically. After War Games and the Robin kerfuffle that followed she almost exclusively worked with Babs, Dick and Damian.

It's weird because I mostly see this happening in stories that're intended to twist the knife on how differently Tim-as-Robin got treated compared to the others but it just... rubs me the wrong way.

HOW TO RESET YOUR CLAN TO EARLIER MOON

(another case of 'one person asked, i deliver) ok first, you sort of can't. YOU GOTTA RESTART with a 'new' clan and transfer! SECONDLY, this may be more complicated than it needs to be bc i don't know how to do things simply. i'm trying my best tho. THIS IS HOW I'VE DONE IT. i recommend watching videos or reading up on how to 'edit files' bc this isn't exhaustive. IT REALLY HELPS IF YOU KNOW HOW TO MESS WITH THE FILES. this is SUPPLEMENTAL KNOWLEDGE FIRST!! save a backup of your clan files (The JSON FILE, AND CLAN FOLDER) in case you make a whoopsie and destroy your code. READ THIS ALL BEFORE TRYING. i'll be noting some things that are MAKE OR BREAK. literally. make ur code or break your code IN THIS EXAMPLE, i'm going back to moon 15 for Dewclan from moon 50, and I'm going to pretend there are only 4 cats- Lyre, Vanilla, Nettle and Spark. I'll refer the clan you want to set back as the 'Canon' clan, and the one you're going to be rewinding to as the 'Rewound' clan! THEN HERE WE GOOOOO FIRST, NEW CLAN. pick the same mode as the clan you're trying to 'Rewind'.

NAME IT WHATEVER. you'll change it later..

Pick those cats. i like to pick the minimum necessary. but it doesn't really matter, as you're going to more or less be copypasting your old cats into this 'Rewound' clan.

START IN THE SAME PLACE. and in the same SEASON that your Canon clan started in. I started Dewclan in Leafbare. do not choose the season that's taking place on the moon you want to rewind to. the one you STaRted on. (you're going to choose what moon you're on later in settings. this keeps the progression consistent. if you started in leafbare, but choose greenleaf for the Rewound clan, 15 moons in, you'll be on a different season than your Canon clan would be bc your starting point was different. even if i'm not explaining that well just do it i promise LAKSNNDKS)

AND LOOK BELLLOOOW. we're gonna transfer our beloved babies over. i recommend you copy from "name_prefix" to "favourite": false in the Canon clan (keep their ID number from this Rewound clan the same. don't replace it with their ID number from the Canon clan), then select all that info in the Rewound clan and paste it to overwrite. and then adjust what you need to. AND YOU WILL NEED TO ADJUST I HIIIGHLY recommend leaving the ID numbers and pasting Canon leader info into Rewound leader info. med cat into med cat. deputy into deputy. Rewound clan leader is ID 20? paste your Canon clan leader info info 20. keep Canon clan's number as 20.

SOME OF THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT. 1. ID NUMBER. if your cat has any relationships, like parents or mates, you need these numbers to match those cats. ALSO if your cat has a specific role, like medicine cat, leader, mediator or deputy, their number needs to match the number designated in the CLAN JSON info shown in the next image. FOR NOW I CONTINUE. 2. IMPORTANT NUMBERS. Sparkplug (her name isn't rly sparkplug btw)'s parent is Lyrestar. Lyre's ID number is 1. if that ID number doesn't match or doesn't exist in this game, you'll get an error! Same goes for mentors and mates. at moon 15, Spark wouldn't have these. But if i transferred her from moon 50 where she did, I'll have to replace the mate/mentor/whatever will 'null', etc, shown here. make sure everything here is relevant to moon 15, and not moon 50! 3. IF your cat was dead when you copypasted, change that! Dead?? FALSE. from dead 'true'.. ... where did 4 and 5 go..- ANYWAY 6. EXPERIENCE. make sure you drop this back to where it was at that moon. lest your kit graduate to warrior bc they have 3000 experience. 7. FALLS INTO 2. do they have an apprentice in the Canon clan that they wouldn't have in the rewound clan? gET RID OF EM. (you can copypaste that portion from a cat without an apprentice or just rewrite it as 'null', but sometimes i type things wrong and get errors so.. i copypaste. just make sure you're copying and pasting from the right start and end point.) IF YOUR CAT HAD AN APPRENTICE IN MOON 15, AND NOT 50.. you can either just set them as mentor and apprentice ingame manually, or write it into the code. i would do it manually tho bc i'm easily confused

NOW WE GET INTO WHERE THE CLAN JSON IS IMPORTANT.

ABOVE ARE MARKED, IMPORTANT THINGS. some will break the game if you don't do it right. SO 1. Name. You can change this later, to your Canon clan name. You need to also change the FOLDER name to match. The folder that you click to get to your 'Clan Cats' files and stuff. YOU WILL HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR CANON CLAN FOLDER NAME AND FILE NAME TO SOMETHING ELSE or it'll corrupt! 2. HERE you change to the moon you want to rewind to. I'd change mine, to 15! season changes along with the moon number automatically. 3. INSTRUCTOR. this is the cat that leads your cats to starclan. predead. dw about it, unless you've messed with the dead cat and want to change it to your old starclan guide. then change the number, to your guide's ID number. You'll see it in the Clan Cats folder! LEADER. you need to change this to your clan leader's number or the files get confused. this is why i recommend replacing Rewound leaders with leaders, deputies with deputies, etc, and not also pasting the old numbers. the numbers are already set. ALSO this is where the leader's lives are dictated! DEPUTY. same as above! MED CAT.... SAME. but also, if you have multiple, add multiple! 4. You can change these names to the Canon names. if you had more or less other clans, you can delete or add more. just make sure to have the same number of clans as 'relations' and 'temperaments'! four clans, for traits and temperaments. 5 clans, 5 traits and temperaments. FINAL PAIN IN THE ARSE is.. having to adjust relationships. bc your 'new' clan won't have established relationships. you gotta go in and adjust the values. it sucks big ass but i don't know a better way to do it snff..

QUICK TIP if you absolutely don't want romance between two unrelated cats bc it would be weird for story reasons, you can change their status in the relationships file change family: false, to family: true. the game thinks they're related and romance won't happen HAHAHAAAAA .. at least in my experience. if this is wrong i'll cry

ok I've lowkey been going insane so I gotta get this confession out before I immediately get proven wrong within like the next few months

Since the 18th super edition is pretty much confirmed to take place during the StormClan era, I hope Snowtuft reappears as a villain in it, major or otherwise. Him not remembering what he did or why he was in the dark forest could line up with the fact that StormClan had been completely wiped from the modern Clans’ and even STARCLAN’S memory up until VERY recently

The 2 things we know about Snowtuft are that he was once a ShadowClan cat, and that he was power-hungry. What if, after StormClan temporarily left the old forest, Snowtuft and the rest of ShadowClan had tried to take over that large stretch of territory that StormClan had left behind? And then they refused to give said territory up without a fight once StormClan came back? 

Maybe Snowtuft had once been leader, but ended up getting driven out after ThunderClan/WindClan won their territories back and getting his -star suffix revoked (a la Brokentail), hence why he hadn’t faded yet. But im also fine with him just being a regular evil goon or something to whoever ShadowClan’s actual leader at the time was

I don’t know I’m just spitballing. I just really, REALLY want snowtuft to have some relevancy going forward. i don’t care what he does. I don't care if he plays a major role or if he only has the tiniest one-sentence cameo. I just want him to be involved with the StormClan era in literally any capacity . erins PLEASE

learning more about his backstory would just feel really rewarding after the authors remembered him for like 5 seconds in TBC and then unceremoniously killed him offscreen. I’m hoping that was more than a one-and-done deal and was actually meant to set up hype for future material involving him (considering how the the authors said all the way back in 2023 that they had already been plotting the stormclan idea for a year at that point. it wouldnt be THATTTT farfetched to assume that snowtuft's whole "I don't remember my past but I probably sucked" thing was actually subtle foreshadowing) I’m the world’s NUMBER ONE STORMCLAN ERA SNOWTUFT TRUTHER (at least until the super edition actually comes out) idc idc. if I get proven wrong feel free to return to this ask in a year and throw tomatoes at me

My little sister introduced me to Sabrina Carpenter and I gotta say I loove her!! Not necessarily my type of music, but the older I get, the more I realise how every genre has something so beautiful to offer and it just makes me so happy to see ART and joy in this world of any kind :')

My first thought is she's gottaaa be Sun influenced- the pastel, literally sunny visuals, the bubbly smile & attitude, the 'lightness'. I find Solar women possibly the easiest to spot- even Sun women I've met who have 'darker' personalities & aesthetics still offer this light energy. I checked, and she is Krittika Sun! (I know she's getting very popular now so this is all probably old news to a lot of people lol but just thought I'd share).

ALSO, I've noticed people remarking on how she is bringing the element of dance and full 'performance style' back into music. Krittika is intimately connected to the art of dance.

Then she has Moon conjunct ascendant in Purvabhadrapada, in the 1st house! Classic Jupiterian sass & vocals (Jupiterians often have gorgeous and or very powerful voices since Jupiter traditionally rules the throat) + Purvabhadrapadas position as the archetypal 'femme fatale' is referenced in her song 'Feather'. Religious imagery is common to see with Purvabhadrapda natives too given the bhadrapada Nakshatras relation to sacrifice.

Since she has Purvabhadrapada Moon; this makes her yoni animal the lion- glamorous, proud, strong.

I noticed someone comparing her energy/demeanour/look in her music video for her song 'Espresso' to Sharpay in Highschool Musical, who is played by Krittika Ascendant, Ashley Tidsdale. Definitely a nice depiction of Krittika energy- being in Taurus, we see Venus (beauty, pleasure, luxury, art) combined with Sun (joy, warmth, self love, authority). Edit - y'all I think I got confused between different birth time sources, but Ashley is in fact mostly Bharani ascendant HOWEVER, with Venus in Krittika ruling her chart.

As well as Sun & Jupiter Nakshatras' abundant qualities, I think Sabrina having Moon in the 1st definitely helps to garner likability & widespread appeal. Moon reflects whatever is around it, so she's going to be somebody who as an artist, is naturally attuned to public opinion. Moon in the 1st can have a knack for identifying what is popular, and reflecting it back through their persona or art in their own way.

With Sabrina's Sun, Moon & Asc consisting entirely of Purvabhadrapada & Krittika, this makes the energies of the 'brahmin caste' extremely relevant to her. Brahmin Nakshatras tend to be associated with spirituality, knowledge, education, prestige or a 'priestly' quality. Of course, not always especially since the ways in which each Nakshatra works is very unique; but heavily Brahmin influenced people tend to find themselves in very privileged positions in life- even if they're in a rough spot, they carry themselves with an aura of importance and therefore tend to easily attract what they desire.

As I talked about in my Vishakha women post, especially Vishakha but honestly strong Jupiter influence in general is often somewhere in the charts of those who have the type of fame where they are ever expanding & deeply influencing the masses.

Anyway, I'm eating up her music videos lol, the solar energy is so uplifting- sorta makes me nostalgic for the 2010s, when mainstream music & trends was a lot more solar inclined in that way. Some may have considered it shallow (my edgy 12 year old self sure did lmao) but honestly I think there can be something very spiritual about artists making music that's just fun, joyful and silly.

ok so ive seen whit timeloop theory makes sense i think its cool but what about full game timeloop theory (.. that only whit can recall.. because he's just.. like that.. idk)

i mean hear me out the game says 'all murderers must be punished', theres the theory that all of them contributed to a death somehow (edit: and thats why they are being punished by playing the killing game, theoretically), thats all well and good but can anyone actually KILL teruko

like she survived being stabbed. and the guns and stuff

maybe the game keeps looping because of teruko specifically, that's why xander has to kill her, because they're stuck in the game. on more of a clutching at straws note, maybe him and eden were the survivors of the last game, and realised they had to die to restart the loop or something after learning the truth and to kill teruko

'i wasnt expecting her to attack me like that' eden could be crying because she doesn't actually want to attack xander but like. she gotta kill him dude. idk. idk where im going with this :(

but that would be cool if it was a plot point because it gives eden cool relevance without making her evil or a mastermind

anyway yeah point is the killing game only continues because teruko lives. if teruko dies, then they can finally get out of the loop? maybe?

essentially it's like. purgatory. because people go to purgatory as a temporary waiting room for their sins to be purged and cleaned and stuff, they can't leave until they've paid the last penny etc

it gives them a plausible reason for xander to kill teruko, he might not remember the last loop but whatever his source if, if its linked to the loop them he's kinda taking one for the team tryna kill teruko idk

maybe he had a little conversation with xander before matthewsman kicked the bucket and that's why he's acting all weird IDK

Devil May Cry Netflix Opening Credits Partial Deepdive/Shouting Part 1

AUUUUUUGH I gotta do a lot of work today and return a library book but GOSH I wanna shout about it.

FIRST THINGS FIRST! Love the style of the intro, Love a color block, love a dot tone. SECOND! Dang what a opening credit scene. I feel like it really shows a lot about how the creators do love the series.

I am going to ramble and talk about the big scenes that made me excited so--if you want to see that read more below xD Future Flockoff Note: This is Part 1 I hit the image limit orz

First and foremost, I do not necessarily think that this intro is showing things that will turn up in the anime. I think above all at this time, I am going to focus on this being a love letter to the series. Though MAN it could so easily add fuel to the "Anime is Nero has to disguise himself as Dante for Reasons" Joke Theory/Fun AU. I swear if this actually happens I will both be delighted and also insufferable from how much I will shout about it.

Edit: Having done a scene by scene on accident (whoops), it does actually look like a lot of the scenes will be actively relevant to the series than I initially thought. Which does have me wonder--how does the Order of the Sword play into this?

Even with this shot, not only doe sit prominently feature Rebellion, Alastor (MY BOY! :D), Force Edge, and Red Queen (RED QUUUEEEEN), but there is also Agni and Rudra, Goddamn Vendetta, Merciless, AND Lucia's Klyamoor from Devil May Cry 2! (Honestly there are probably more in the far background but--It is so fun to see those guys be put out there so prominently <3 <3)

Also the like--The way they are teasing Vergil in this is so fun. We love the Rebellion flickering in and out of being the Yamato.

But also the changes that happen with each of the effects-the Hell landscape turning into a city is just fun :D

But it also just looks SO COO! Like Aaaaugh I love color blocking so much.

And excuse me is is this Cavaliere Angelo?

Like the eyes, face shape and chest has similar design shapes and language to Cavaliere.

But--A part of me is hoping. That perhaps maybe its Alastor. We have very little that is considered canon for non-sword Alastor and I could see Alastor and Cavaliere having similarities given that they are both electricity based. Furthermore, the idea that Urizen modeled Cavaliere after Alastor somewhat. But of course--that is just me doing BIG wishing cause I love that sword so much. I want Dante and Alastor to have the most one sided situationship.

Classic DMC times, City getting invaded with demons. Love that the Rabbit is the "Warning!" sign. I'll probably be squinting at the shape in the sky for a bit. Though Currently-No idea who the heck that is.

I thought maybe it could be a stylized Qliphoth--but it also could be a guy.

Lady's gear! Considering what was done with the Netflix Adaptation of Castlevania and Sypha--I wouldn't be surprised if they go more indepth about Lady's Devil Hunting equipment.

THIS GUY THOUGH--Not sure who this guy is. I don't think its Arkham. It could be a entirely new character. But if this is a intro featuring major players, and he is a previously established character my wild card guess would be Gilver. Big thing to note is that he comes in to the part of the song that goes "Guys who don't give a Fuck" and his sub animation is a zoom in on his shades--where you can see a Demon Flying towards him.

His tools of the trade are shown as two monitors with the logo for Darkcom in the center (which I don't recognize Darkcom from the series--Only know the name from a future shot), and-- Okay I am bad at identifying guns but I can at least say that it isn't the shotgun that Gilver had in the light novel. I think
