okay all the speculation about Benoit Blanc meeting Phillip on a case are hilarious, but also equally hilarious are Benoit and Phillip meeting somewhere so completely and utterly NORMAL and unglamorous. Grocery line checkout. Starbucks. The DMV for all I care.

Queer Movie Review # : Glass Onion
Tumblr media
When I set out to watch this Glass Onion, I never suspected I'd one day be writing a review of it. After all, I only take the time to review queer movies. And while many on Tumblr theorized that Benoit Blanc might be gay, I needed it to be canon. And I got my wish! And Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is such a fun romp. I enjoyed it even more than the first installment.
Tumblr media
In the early days of the pandemic, five eccentric and wealthy individuals recieve a mysterious puzzle box from the equally eccentric billionaire Miles Bron (Edward Norton.) Benoit Blanc also recieves the box at his partner's apartment. (Say that five times fast. I dare you.) Once they solve the puzzle, it breaks into an onion, giving them the date, time, and coordinates of a luxurious weekend at Bron's private island. Bron has a unique murder mystery for them to solve: his own. (Sorry to disappoint everyone, but he's still alive.) Turns out, someone is dead at the party. But who? Time for Blanc to flex, this time with a mystery helper.
Tumblr media
While Knives Out coded Benoit Blanc as queer, Glass Onion confirms it, albeit quietly. The movie simply shows Blanc's domestic partner, Phillip (played by Hugh Grant), answering the door with an apron and oven mitts. Then we see Blanc playing Among Us in Phillip's bathtub. It's such a simple note, but it says so much. Fans also point out the screen where Birdie (Kate Hudson) hits on Blanc rather aggressively. But maybe it's just me, even as a pan woman, I find Birdie's behavior in that scene severely unattractive, regardless of my sexual orientation. Can we as fandoms stop perpetuating that men automatically want the attention of women if they're attractive? Anyway.
Tumblr media
Knives Out felt like a traditional murder mystery. Glass Onion had so many twists and turns--it made my head spin. And I loved it. Everyone in the movie has a secret, but the secret to the mystery hides in plain sight.
Tumblr media
I enjoyed Knives Out, but I LOVE Glass Onion. I'd totally watch it again, even though I know how the mystery is solved. (Edit: I watched it a second time, with my girlfriend. I have zero regrets.) I recommend this film to EVERYONE.

Silly doodle of the peepaw for @sonic-oc-showdown ! plus the oc questions thing under the read more :3
Name: Ignatius
Species: Domestic Cat
Home: He travels wherever the wind takes him!
✨ How did you come up with the OC’s name?
I think I just looked up like, old people names LOL I don’t remember for sure tho.
🧑‍🦳 How old are they?
He’s in his 60s!
💞 Do they have any love interests?
Ehh not anyone specifically! Might make him a husband eventually.
🥞 What is their favorite food?
Hmmm... Probably belgian waffles with far too many toppings.
💼 What do they do for a living?
He’s a freelance detective! Sort of. He’s supposed to be retired but it’s hard to keep him in place.
🏐 Do they have any hobbies?
He loves anything to do with puzzles! Puzzle games, actual puzzles, escape rooms, murder mystery media... He also enjoys beach sports like volleyball but it’s a bit hard on his body now. He also likes to bake and mix drinks. He’s a jack of all trades honestly, he’s quite restless.
🎯 What do they do best?
Solving mysteries of course! He’s also a pretty darn good cook, if you’ll allow him to toot his own horn.
🥊 What do they love? What do they hate?
His one true love is puzzles, if it’s not clear enough yet! He also loves the beach and relaxing in the sun! He dislikes dreary weather, feels it makes him far too serious and stern! He’s also not one for stuffy museums, he’d much rather be learning from communities themselves! He’s a very knowledge focused guy but enjoys the experience of learning from enthusiastic people rather than textbooks. He really enjoys watching older shows too! MASH and ST:TOS being among his favorites. Imagine those in the Sonic universe however you please LOL
📸 What is one of your OC’s best memories?
Hmm... really, he savors the feeling of helping people! Each and every person he’s helped is slotted into his brain like a polaroid!
✂️ What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
Yeesh, he’s too old to dwell on these things! If he kept track of every failed case and the homophobia and ableism he’s had tossed his way in life he’d have no time for the things he enjoys!
🏚️ Is their current design their first one?
Sure is! I tend to stick with designs once I make them. Little changes may happen here and there to make them easier for me to draw but typically, my designs stay the same! His fur pattern might be choppy or smooth depending on the amount of time I want to put into drawing it though LOL
🧠 What originally inspired this OC?
Sara was drawing Sonic OCs and I hadn’t ever really put the time into making one. So I sat down, grabbed a pelt pattern I liked, and took a LOT from Benoit Blanc from Knives Out. Someone in the tags of his poll said he’s got Columbo energy but I haven’t actually watched it so I can’t say for sure whether he carries those traits or not. My favorite color is purple so it tends to sneak into my designs. I made him about a month before the Sonic Murder Mystery game hilariously enough.
🎬 What genre do they belong in?
Mystery of course! Maybe comedy/mystery?
🏳️‍🌈 What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Gay for sure, trans maybe? I haven’t decided for sure and I don’t think he’s the type to really care too much for labels for himself. He uses He/Him mostly but won’t go out of his way to correct people.
👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 How many siblings does your OC have?
I haven’t really thought about it honestly. I’ll probably give him a sister. Feels right.
🧑‍🍼 What is the OC’s relations w/their parents like?
Not great. He was outed in his late teens and they. Did not react well. He already had a rough time from his undiagnosed autism and it never really got better. He’d liked to have improved things with them but he just... never really got around to it.
💜 What do you like most about the OC?
I just think he’s a silly guy :) I am pretty happy with his design too! I’m quite proud of how my skills have improved in that aspect.
🖍️ How often do you draw/write about the OC?
This is honestly the most I’ve done since making him LOL I work a full time job and my brain is more focused on Warriors atm tbh
🔪 Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
Oh absolutely not. I’m the type of guy who makes ocs for fun and to push them together like dolls! Maybe if I made him as a teen things would be different.
💀 Does your OC have any phobias?
Sort of? He’s got a lot of mental things going on about germs. Washes his hands a LOT and is very aware of just how much others don’t. Maybe snakes too since he’s a cat.
❤️‍🔥 Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
His own mind if truly his greatest enemy tbh. Turns out that constantly being on alert for clues can make you a little paranoid.
⏱️ How long have you had the OC?
According to discord, since January 17th, 2023!

Poker Face is the best show you’re not watching. Seriously, it’s exceptional. I finished my first run of the show the day episode ten dropped and sat on it for a bit. I thought about praising it after that first watch but ended up binging it last week, three episodes a night starting on Thursday, finishing this morning after i took the dog out. Let me tell you, that second viewing was as solid as the first. This show hits the same way that first season of Luther hit and i have longed for that level of quality out of my domestic television fair. The US sucks at TV. We tend to fall into lazy tropes and uninspired writing. And then The Wire happened, ushering in a standard of television that most couldn’t keep up with but they tried. For a few years there, w got sh*t like Hannibal, Breaking Bad, Legion, and Atlanta. Those shows didn’t wear out their welcome but that can’t be said for others. The Walking Dead and Game of Thrones, juggernauts back in the day, went out with a whimper in their respective final seasons. Because of the US laziness. We’re seeing a lot of that with the MCU now, too. But not with Poker Face. No, this show is inspired!
Of the top, this is a Rian Johnson production so you kind of know what you’re going to get. There is a lot of decent writing, overall, but it’s not the most intellectually challenging to say the least. This sh*t is basically Knives Out but, instead of a southern gentlemen detective, you have a washed out, Jersey, card-shark with borderline psychic intuition. It’s a ridiculous premise but it works so well because Natasha Lyonne embodies this part. The strength of Johnson’s writing lies with those lead characters. We watch the Knives Out franchise because of Benoit Blanc, not necessarily the overarching mystery, though they are pretty entertaining. The same can be said about Poker Face. You watch this show because the character of Charlie Cale, is so deftly brought to life by Lyonne. She’s brilliant, spastic, slothful yet inventive, and absurdly funny in the most wry of ways. Charlie is one of the best written characters in television and Lyonne’s performance goes a very long way to bring what was on the page, to vivid life.
In truth, Poker Face is kind of soft on overall plot and the execution of the  "case-of-the-week" is hit-and-miss but these admittedly minor grievances are easily forgiven in the face of how brilliant all the performances are in this show. Lyonne is the gem in this embarrassment of riches but that’s not to slight any of the other treasures in this trove of acting. I mean, you have Adrien Brody and Dascha Polanco delivering small but galvanizing portrayals that immediately energize you for what comes next. Seriously, that first episode absolutely sets the tone going forward, particularly the mic drop climax. That sh*t was unexpected and an absolutely brilliant subversion of expectation. And that’s just the first episodes! Seriously, sh*t like this is what this show is built upon. Guest stars come through for a few episodes, absolutely deliver their best work, and trot off into the sunset leaving you hungry for more of their catalog. Ron Perlman and Benjamin Bratt are the primary antagonists but, episode-to-episode gives us tantalizing little character arcs that give this show life. Just a small list of these little starburst actors include: Megan Suri, John Ratzenberger, Lil Rel Howery,  Chloe Sevigny, Tim Meadows, Jameela Jamil, Clea Duvall, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Stephanie Hsu. Seriously, if you’re not watching Poker Face, fix that sh*t right now. It’s free to watch on Peacock. Go binge that sh*t right now. You’ll thank me later.

Every thought I’ve had while watching Glass Onion again
I have a million thoughts about Glass Onion and I need to get it off my chest!
First of all, I really need the people calling Blanc’s accent “bad” to just stop. He is from Louisiana...his name is fucking Benoit Blanc for fucks sake! That’s a Louisiana/Cajun accent. For those who don’t know, “southern” isn’t a singular accent the same way “european” doesn’t describe any specific accent. It’s a generalization. Every southern state has slightly different accents and cadences that define each region.
SPOILERS PAST THIS POINT
So Miles Bron is obviously a clear depiction of Elon Musk, we see details hinting to other billionaires as well through wardrobe and props. The very first scene shows Claire getting her box from Miles delivered by an Alpha Courier van...Amazon Prime anyone? Even his clothes throughout remind me of billionaires like Musk and Steve Jobs.
Duke’s mom calling him dookie cause he’s a piece of shit. And then casually solving the “genius” puzzles from across the room, she’s a treasure.
Yo-Yo Ma giving us a little lesson in classical music. This entire movie is a name drop.
Blanc in the bathtub on a zoom with Natasha Lyonne, Stephen Sondheim, Angela Lansbury, and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. How the hell do they know each other? Did he solve cases for them? Does he know them through Phillip? And the hesitant denial when Phillip asks if he’s in the bath again is pure domestic excellence, that is his home now.
As someone who worked retail throughout the pandemic, I had a visceral reaction to Birdie’s sparkly mesh “mask” (and then she has the audacity to say she can finally breathe again when she doesn’t have to wear it at the pool!?). With each mask and the way they’re wearing them (or not wearing them) we know exactly what kind of person each one of them is. Though I can’t quite figure out why Andi isn’t wearing one, either to facilitate the scene with that dramatic reveal or does Helen make the conscious decision to not wear it because Andi wouldn’t have worn it? Also high tech snap bracelets? Sure I guess.
Approaching the island Lionel asks if the dock is a Bansky, and the captain says “piece of shit” and just lets him believe that’s the name of the island in greek. That shit is so funny. But also, wouldn’t having a glass dock be totally slippery and dangerous? Like I can just imagine his contractors telling him its dangerous and not advisable to have it set at low tide and him just being like I know more than you just do it my way!
The way Duke pimped out Whiskey to try to get Miles to do what he wants just kinda breaks my heart. It shows that he knows she’s smart and capable but the uncontrollable hurt on his face when he sees them hug is gut wrenching. I cannot believe I feel bad for this dude, Rian Johnson you are masterful.
The look on Miles’ face when he sees Andi arrive on the island and then when he sees her again after he shoots her is fucking priceless. It’s very ‘why won’t this bitch die?’ Either she chose not to tell him she had a twin sister or this is just another example of his stupidity.
Derol. Just Derol. I saw someone else on here mention that he’s a personification of covid and it blew my mind. He’s always drinking Corona and saying ignore me I’m not here? Fucking genius. He almost accentuates the absurdity that is Miles Bron when he’s giving his little introduction speech and Derol walks through followed by the robot with everyone’s bags. I cackled!
Also I’ve never heard the term “flat tire” for an untied shoelace before and I will absolutely be using that from now on!
The hourly dong? Assigning rooms by chakra? His little bracelets and shit? Its screaming fake namaste bullshit.
Benoit is such a shady bitch for referring to the box as children’s puzzles having not really seen any of the puzzles because Helen smashed it. Easily one of my favorite moments in the whole movie.
Jared Leto’s hard kombucha...
I’ve never met a person with a serious allergy, let alone deadly, that does not carry an epipen for emergencies, like wtf Duke? But that fancy lil gun you got there never leaves your side cause you never know what’s gonna happen right?
When Blanc tells Birdie “It’s a dangerous thing to mistake speaking without thought for speaking the truth” and her only takeaway is “Are you calling me dangerous?” Like girl if he is then he’s calling you dangerously stupid! Which is absolutely the truth.
Miles handing Peg a red solo cup is sending me through the roof. That motherfucker had to go out of his way to get that for her! There’s plenty of glassware in that room and he just had to give her a fucking plastic cup like she’s not worthy of anything more. I could’ve killed him right there for that tbh.
The entire concept of Miles buying the Mona Lisa just because he can, and then installing his own override of the security built to preserve the most famous painting in the world which then becomes the reason it gets destroyed reminds me of Kim Kardashian ruining Marilyn Monroe’s dress for a fucking red carpet. She did it because she wanted to be associated with her, not out of love or respect for the actual piece of art. Don’t get me started about altering Michael Jackson’s clothes so her child can wear them. I’m not sure of the timeline but I think that was also something that happened after the movie was already done so I’m starting to wonder if Rian Johnson has some of that Simpsons prediction mojo.
I love how excited Blanc gets to reveal the mystery. Every time he is downright giddy, at least until he realizes how dumb Miles is which infuriates him because he hates dumb games.
Honestly building a literal glass onion on your own island because you miss you favorite bar where you met your friends and want to relive the glory days is one of the saddest and most pathetic billionaire antics I’ve ever seen.
Why did Claire’s husband call her and she ignored it? Is that the moment he got the news about Andi’s death? But Duke doesn’t get the notification until after she leaves the room.
I like how we’re constantly reminded of the Mona Lisa’s presence with the security door shutting in response to what’s happening in the room. It almost feels like an additional character.
I just love how the second act starts at exactly the halfway point. It really satisfies my brain having so much time to go back and dig through all those glass layers.
Who’s out here thinking that Phillip is a professional baker with all that flour on his face?! That man is just doing his best in a pandemic with a partner that lives in a bathtub.
Janelle Monet is so fucking talented it hurts
I don’t like the way Birdie shouted at Andi on the boat that she shouldn’t be there. Like wtf. But I love when Birdie shows Peg the email and she immediately knows that Birdie didn’t actually mean any harm she is just so dumb she really thought sweatshops are just a place where they make sweatpants. Peg is a real one.
That little notebook stopped a whole bullet wtf?
Omg why can I feel that drop of hot sauce running down my face
I really hope that after this at least some people start seeing through the lies and misdirection used by these billionaire con artists and politicians but I fear I may be asking too much of the general public. That’s why ben shapiro went on his little twitter tantrum about terrible writing or whatever. Like bro if you’re not smart enough to understand symbolism in cinema, especially when it’s literally spelled out for you step by step in this particular instance, then there’s this little thing called not saying anything at all. He just doesn’t want to be exposed for what he and others like him are actually doing. ~~misdirection~~
I’m sorry but if it were me I would’ve put that napkin in my pocket or something not just held it out for him.
Benoit Blanc really just gave Helen the tools to take that fucker down and just waited at the beach with Derol to watch it all burn. And finally smoke his cigar I’m so happy for him.
If there’s one thing I respect about Birdie its the respect she has for these pieces of history being destroyed, even when Miles drops Paul Mccartney’s guitar on the beach she’s like so concerned and I feel that.
My take away from this is that I am already so excited for Knives Out 3, I could watch an infinite amount of these movies.

y'all, i'm loving the amount of older queer rep i've been getting the past few months.
like don't get me wrong, i love captain holt and raymond (b99) and cam and mitch (modern family) as much as the next person but it always seems like queer representation over the age of 30 is just lacking from film and entertainment.
Tumblr media
(^look at my b99 boys being so domestic I LOVE IT GIVE ME MORE)
Tumblr media
and not to mention the wonderful number of older queer characters that have graced the screen over the past few years: annelise keating (how to get away with murder), chiron (moonlight), ma rainey (ma rainey's black bottom). but they all seem to be lacking long-standing stable relationships and comfort in their sexuality, and societal welcome, respectively - just my opinion.
but the fact that i've gotten 3 beautiful queer older couples has got me grinning every single week. i love my life.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
first is obviously mr 'kentucky-fried foghorn leghorn drawl' and his wonderful house husband who bakes. yes, i'm talking about benoit blanc and his partner, phillip.
the domesticity of playing among us in the bath tub while your husband/partner bakes for you - probably banana bread or sourdough, if we're being period accurate - is what i aspire to have in the future. i love it. also the fact that they aren't over the top, they're just living their lives together how they want to is amazing. i need a prequel film where they meet and fall in love and phillip makes fun of blanc's stupid accent. thank yew.
(also idc if you disagree but blanc is the bottom in the relationship. i said what i said.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the second is ed and stede from our flag means death. now, i know that ofmd aired like a year ago on hbo max, but i only started watching it recently since it just started airing on bbc 2.
i haven't finished the show yet but the budding relationship between ed (blackbeard) and stede is absolutely adorable and i love taika waititi and rhys darby which only makes the show better.
(i'll have a more articulate answer when i have finished watching the show, i promise.)
Tumblr media
last but not least, is the absolute FUCKERY that is bill and frank from the last of us.
WHAT THE HELL CRAIG MAZIN? DID YOU INTEND TO BREAK THE HEARTS OF 6.4M PPL, BECAUSE IF YOU DID, YOU SUCCEEDED.
the fact that in the middle of a pretty dark tv show about the apocalypse, death, and dictatorship, we got the most beautiful short film about gay love makes me so happy. bill and frank survived the aids epidemic as two young gay men in america in the 80s, only to be struck by a fungal pandemic, only to meet each other because frank fell into bill's trap, and yet they still lived a happy life together, growing old together.
the fact that craig mazin let them live their lives in their little town, full of love and fulfillment, despite the apocalypse that's raging outside their window, is beautiful. they had the opportunity to fall in love and have a healthy relationship, free of all the homophobia and anti-gay policies that were still around in the early 2000s.
Tumblr media
craig mazin you have broken me, i love it.
Tumblr media
if you want to read a pretty decent article about the lack of queer rep in film and media, here
thanks for reading, if you made it this far :) comment anything i should watch

Okay, NO. I cannot be expected to wait another four weeks to talk about Glass Onion. I CANNOT.
I’m angry about only one thing and that’s that it’s not still in the theater because my immediate goal after walking out was to walk right back in again and see it once again to catch all the stuff that went on that I missed. (Like Helen. Helen! I spent so much time at the end of the movie going, “Wow, she does such a great acting job being her sister!” Except it was *her* all along and … Jesus, seriously give that woman an Oscar nomination.)
I also thought SO MUCH about the whole “you see what he wanted you to see” part of the plot, because yes. YES. I wish more movies did this gaslighting outside of an abusive domestic situation, *and* acknowledged it as such.
I also hope that when Benoit said, “I’ve got a guy,” he meant Philip, and ten minutes later Philip was clearing stacks of books out of their bathroom grumbling about why they can’t go do this in his salon, *Blanc*, you always do this, I don’t know how we didn’t break up ages ago, now go check on dinner while I rummage through what supplies I’ve got on hand.
Okay, but that last sequence … look, I called it sexy for a reason. That shit was so *satisfying*. I’m not going to pretend that it didn’t help that Miles felt VERY Elon on multiple fronts, which made it even better. But Helen getting to destroy it ALL - not just physically by smashing and burning and doing everything some of us wish we could do to a billionaire’s home, but by doing it in such a way that his whole damn empire is about to *fall the fuck apart*.
I kept thinking about Marta in the first movie and Helen in this one, how they both go up against the rich and privileged, although they wouldn’t have done so if a murder didn’t spur them on. They’re both exceptionally brave. Marta’s bravery may be more understated in comparison (God knows she doesn’t blow the house up), but they’re both the real heroes in movie where the urge is to go, “Well, Benoit is the hero, of course.” Even he would go, “No, I do this all the time. But HER! She’s a marvel.” God, I could watch a hundred movies where Benoit Blanc does his detective work while a woman stands up to privileged bullshit and wins over and over. I hope we get so many more Benoit Blanc movies. He’s SO good, but the movies also give him the BEST characters to work with or against.
Ugh, I just want to rewatch ALL of Janelle Monae’s scenes from the start. She had a scarf around her head in that scene with the box at the beginning and of COURSE she did, she’s wearing a robe, she probably just got up, but of COURSE she did, because she’s *Helen*, and she’s got a different haircut. And what I love is that yes, she smashed that box with the hammer because she was good and pissed and good for her, but also she’s the sort of character where if she actually sat down and tried to figure it out, you *know* she could. She’s sharp, she’s a teacher, she’s quick on her feet. But goddamn it, that box NEEDED smashing, and I feel like I could watch two straight hours of Janelle Monae breaking stuff and that would be my porn.
But I love Benoit Blanc so goddamn much, too. I’m not a James Bond fan so I haven’t watch Daniel Craig’s run (that’s on the character, not him), but I’ve adored him in other stuff. Like, he’s so much fun in Logan Lucky, a movie that doesn’t nearly get enough play for being VERY good and for featuring Southern characters without making them the butt of the joke. Oh, but Benoit.
Also, kudos to writing in the pandemic as a plot point in a way that didn’t make me want to whack the screenwriter on the head with a newspaper. Like, Kate Hudson wearing that jeweled chain mask was both so in character and SO infuriating because *people actually did that shit*, a fact I will NEVER get over.

Physical Affection Headcanons:
Benoit Blanc, Joe Bang, James Bond, Jake Lonergan, Prof. Fluke Kelso
Hello y’all! I’m back! It’s been a crazy past couple of weeks. I’ve been in the middle of moving to a different apartment, so things are a bit hectic (to say the least)... Anyway, I thought I do this for some fun.
I did not reference race, gender, sexuality, or physical appearance. If I missed something, please let me know so I can change it!
Warnings: mentions of sex (cough Bond cough), brief mention of alcohol
Benoit Blanc:
Tumblr media
Public:
- While the two of you like to take walks around the neighborhood, whether it’s to work out a case or just to stretch your legs, he likes having your hand in his. In the winter, he tucks your hand into his pocket to keep it warm (and you close).
- On the occasion that you’re at a dinner with others (usually co-workers), his hand will rest on your lower back.
- When traveling, the two of you like to take pictures. While he’s not completely adept at the art of the selfie, his favorites are the ones when you kiss his cheek at the last second.
Private:
- He likes it when you drape your legs over his while you’re on the couch. He uses them as an arm rest while he’s reading. If you’re lucky, he might start absentmindedly massaging your feet.
- If the two of you are having a heart-to-heart or he’s just reminding you how much he loves you, he’ll gently hold your face in his warm hands, caressing your cheek with his thumb.
- When he gets home, the first thing he does (after getting his coat off), is give you a kiss hello.
Joe Bang:
Tumblr media
Public:
- He slaps your ass as he walks by you without caring who sees. Literally could be in front of a bunch of kids and bam: ass = slapped. Though, he does have enough sense to not do that in front of your family.
- Likes to walk around with his arm around your lower back. When the two of you are lounging with friends around, he has you tucked into his side, with his arm around your shoulder to keep you even closer. Please hold the hand of said arm. It will make him super happy.
- If you’re having a conversation and you’re not paying attention to him (and he’s had a drink), he’ll blow a raspberry into the crook of your neck and giggle when you get mad.
Private:
- When you cook - especially in the mornings - he’ll stand behind you with his hands on your hip/waist area and just watch. Sometimes, he’ll rest his chin on your shoulder as well.
- Before he leaves the house - or when the two of you have an appointment- he’ll sometimes mess with his hair so you’ll fix it for him. It’s the only good thing about having his hair grow out.
- His favorite thing is to cuddle on the couch while watching dumb shows on TV. He doesn’t care who’s the big or little spoon, he just wants you on him.
James Bond:
Tumblr media
Public:
- He loves it when you have an arm around his. It brings out his protective and possessive side - especially at events.
- In more casual settings, he simply has his hand wrapped around yours.
- Lives for the moments that he can drag you to some little corner and make out. While he enjoys his privacy, he finds it amusing when you get caught. He also secretly enjoys watching you fuss over how the both of you look before rejoining the others.
Private:
- Lot’s of kisses and back hugs. When he’s in an especially loving and needy mood, he’ll kiss each and every one of your knuckles on your hands.
- He enjoys tracing patterns on your bare skin while the two of you are still in bed. If you’re still asleep, he’ll just watch you.
- Sometimes, instead of undressing you, he’ll help you get ready to go out. There’s something he really enjoys from putting on your lipstick or tying your shoes.
Jake Lonergan:
Tumblr media
Public:
- Throughout the day, he doesn’t give a lot of physical affection.
- If he’s with his men, he won’t initiate much - if any at all - because he’s the leader and needs to maintain his tough act. If you’re out with friends though, he’s more likely to hold your hand (but still, it’s rare).
- If he does initiate anything, it’s probably a gentle hand on your back, patting your head - and subsequently messing your hair - when he’s in a good mood, or an inconspicuous squeeze of your hand.
Private:
- Whether there’s company or not, nightfall is the only time that you get any time to just enjoy each other’s company.
- He enjoys sitting with your back to his chest and his arms around you. If he’s bored, he’ll play with your hands. He enjoys comparing sizes or linking fingers.
- Lot’s of lazy neck kisses. It’s not necessarily sexual - although it can get that way pretty quick - it’s just that your neck is the only thing he can reach when your back is to him.
Prof. Fluke Kelso:
Tumblr media
Public:
- His PDA is very subtle, so expect lots of light touches.
- When he meets up with you - no matter the setting - he’ll kiss you softly on the cheek. He does it at parties when he comes back talking to someone or before he sits back down at a dinner date.
- He’s more into having an arm around you than hand-holding. There’s no particular reason besides that it feels more natural for him.
Private:
- Honestly, he’s no more physically affectionate at home than outside. There’s not real reason for it other than he just isn’t.
- He likes it when you help him take his clothes off after he’s had a long day. He enjoys watching your fingers undo his tie or roll up his belt to put it away. The feeling is so domestic and he can’t really explain it.
- This man is the master at shoulder rubs, hands down. Bad day? Shoulder rub. Showering together? Shoulder rub. Tired? Shoulder rub.
I hope you all enjoyed this! I didn’t really edit it, so I’m probably going to change that when I get the chance. Anyway, if you have anything you’d like to see from me, please feel free to let me know! I’ll also be making an AO3 account soon, so that’s exciting! I wish you all a good week and see you in the next one!

Dear Chocolate Box Creator Letter 2020
Hi! Thank you for creating something for me! I’m excited to see what you create! :D
General info
I adore tropes, the more ridiculous the better, and really what I love about ridiculous tropes is how it gives the creator an opportunity to explore the characters and their dynamics and motivations. Fun plots are great, but the characters and what the plot reveals about them is what I really love.
I also really love AUs (especially modern/historical AUs) or crossover fusions, and love how much changes and how much doesn’t. But straight up canon stuff is really good too. Really, character focused stuff is what I love most. I do also think canon divergence AUs can be really great, so feel free to play around with canon as well.
Please no smut. Romance is great, but nothing more than kissing/fade to black for the physical stuff.
While I’m a big fan of romantic ships, I also love relationships in general, romantic or not. Just characters being there for each other is great. I love fluff, but more serious/angsty/dramatic stuff is just as good too. :D And unless specifically stated otherwise, I have no problem with characters other than I requested in the story, but I want the requested characters to be a main focus.
None of the relationships I requested in any particular fandom are ones that I wouldn’t want combined with any other in that fandom, so feel free to use or not use any of the relationships requested.
Aside from the no smut request, my other DNWs (also listed on my sign up) are:
explicit gore
violence and injury are fine, but nothing super graphic, generally I would say canon typical violence/gore or less is a good way to go
permanent character death of requested characters
angst without a happy (or at least hopeful) ending
I do tend to like fluffier stuff, but angst is great too, as long as there’s some hope or happiness there by the end.
I hope this helps! I’m including my general prompts below, but feel free to go where the inspiration takes you. Happy writing! :D (Length of prompts is not an indication of my feelings for a fandom. I steal prompts from my previous letters because I’m lazy and those tend to be shorter than newer prompts as I get better at these letters. :D)
Request 1
Fandom: DC Extended Universe
Relationships: Diana Prince/Steve Trevor, Lois Lane & The Justice League, Clark Kent/Lois Lane
Prompts: I’ve split these up by relationship, since they feel a little more separate than the relationships in the other fandoms, but feel free to combine as you want. :)
Diana/Steve Trevor:
I love them so much, and I love how much Steve treats her as an equal. I am here for a full on AU, whether set within the canonverse or something totally different, just so they can have their happy ending. I have seen WW84, and while I had some problems with the ramifications of some of the writing choices (I’m looking at you, mechanic of Steve’s return), I did really like their scenes together. If sticking with a more canonverse setting, I’d be happy with a story set during the first movie, or even 1984, or even bring him forward to the current day movies. (I would love seeing Steve meet Lois and Clark and the League.)
Lois Lane & The Justice League
I would love to see Lois working with the Justice League and using her skills as a reporter to help with their missions. I’d also love to see her dynamic with Alfred, as well as the other members of the League. I think this would be especially interesting set between BvS and Justice League, but also after Clark comes back.
Clark Kent/Lois Lane
I love this ship so much, and especially this version of them. I love how much trust and respect they have for each other from the word go. This version of them is a little quieter and more serious than other iterations and I’m happy with keeping a similar tone to Man of Steel/Batman V Superman, but lighter fare would be great too. We see Clark and Lois investigating stories separately as reporters, but not really together as a team, whether for the Planet or the League or both, and I’d love to see that. I would also love to see them dealing with the aftermath of Justice League and how they come back together after being apart for so long. I have seen all the current movies (although I’m less familiar with Justice League as it wasn’t my favorite, but I remember the big stuff), and am happy to see other characters show up as well if you would like.
Request 2
Fandom: Austenland (2013)
Relationships: Henry Nobley/Jane Hayes
Prompts: I love how this movie is both this beautiful (and hilarious) homage to Jane Austen and those period stories, while being a modern romcom in it’s own right. I love the ways that both Henry and Jane fit the Austen “archetypes”, while also being their own people in our modern world. I absolutely love their chemistry, and would be happy with something set during the movie, such as a missing scene or more character reflection (perhaps on catching feelings for each other?), or something set after the movie. (Like what was her friend’s reaction to walking in and finding them kissing? :D)
Request 3
Fandom: Enola Holmes (2020)
Relationships: Enola Holmes/Viscount “Tewky” Tewksbury, Enola Holmes & Sherlock Holmes
Prompts: I absolutely loved this movie and thought it was so much fun. I don’t typically read first person fanfics, but loved the fourth wall breaking in the movie and would love to see how that translated to a fic. I also really like 3rd person if you don’t want to take on the fourth wall breaking element. I would love to see more of what you think happens after the movie ends, with Enola finding her way, and exploring her friendship and blossoming romance with the Viscount. I would also love to see her interacting more with Sherlock and how their relationship grows  and I loved their take on Sherlock. But I’m also just excited to see what you create!
Request 4
Fandom: Knives Out
Relationships: Benoit Blanc/Marta Cabrera, Harlan Thrombey & Marta Cabrera
Prompts: If you look at my posted stories, you know I’m a fan of Marta/Benoit. It kind of snuck up on me, and I was obsessed earlier this year. There’s just something about them that works so well. I love AUs where Harlan lives or the murder attempt never happened and the three of them met some other way. I also like anything post movie where they work through the aftermath of the movie together. I love Marta and Harlan’s dynamic and would love something exploring their friendship. I love Marta/Benoit being partners, romantically, but also professionally if you want to go that direction. I don’t mind having the Thrombey’s involved, but don’t want them to be the focus. (This goes especially for Ransom. I really don’t want any hint of Marta/Ransom.) I do love both Lieutenant Elliott and Trooper Wagner if you go the more case fic route. I have no problem with vomiting if you want to include Marta’s “condition”, although I would request avoiding any really graphic description of vomit/vomiting.
Request 5
Fandom: The Man From U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Relationships: Gaby Teller/Illya Kuryakin, Gaby Teller & Illya Kuryakin & Napoleon Solo
Prompts: Team shenanigans is my favorite. They’re all such interesting characters and I love their dynamic together. I would love something set in the future where they’ve settled more into a routine, or something where they’re still figuring out how to work together as a permanent team.  I also love modern AUs, or anytime Napoleon plays matchmaker. I also love how tender Illya is with Gaby and would love to see them finally get to kiss if you want to include that. I would also love to see something post movie where Gaby and Illya are getting to know each other once it’s known that Gaby is also an agent.
Request 6
Fandom: The Scarlet Pimpernel (1982)
Relationships: Marguerite Blakeney/Percy Blakeney
Prompts: I would love anything where Marguerite is helping Percy and the League with their stuff and being all around awesome, but domestic, peaceful fluff is good too. I just love them being partners, whether in their marriage or in other aspects. I haven’t read many full on AUs (not just canon divergence) for this ship, but that could be really interesting too.  I have read the book, if you want to include details from that, but of course, that is not necessary.
Request 7
Fandom: The Librarians
Relationships: Eve Baird/Flynn Carson, Cassandra Cillian & Eve Baird & Ezekiel & Jake Stone & Jenkins
Prompts: I absolutely love Eve/Flynn and how they both started having feelings for each other from the word go. While some of their issues were frustrating (and some of them certainly brought on by Noah Wyle’s schedule), I do like when they work and talk through their problems. I love how they balance each other out, and are both 100% in this ridiculous world of theirs in their own way. With the main show team, I love how they all become a family, and ultimately support and better each other. I also love how they’re all brilliant, but in completely different ways, and how they fill the gaps in each other’s knowledge bases. I also love Jenkins being the Grumpy OneTM, but having a great dynamic with each character. Something case related would be fun, or discovering something cool about the library together, or even just something more low key and domestic in the library after a case or during down time.  I would also love to see more after Eve and Flynn are tethered.
Request 8
Fandom: Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Relationships: Clark Kent/Lois Lane
Prompts: I love anything where Lois and Clark are working together as a team at the Planet or elsewhere, especially with the great banter they can get going, or anything adorable or fluffy. I also love them fighting Tempus, because he’s such a ham. My favorite version of their relationship is post reveal/marriage, but earlier versions of their relationship are great too. I’m just excited to see what you create. :D
Request 9
Fandom: Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries
Relationships: Jack Robinson/Phryne Fisher, Elizabeth MacMillan & Phyrne Fisher, Hugh Collins/Dot Williams, Phryne Fisher & Dot Williams, Elizabeth MacMillan & Jack Robinson
Prompts: One of my favorite things about this show is the found family aspect, so whichever relationship you focus on, or end up using, that support and love (romantic, platonic, familial) is what I love about this show and these characters. My favorite ship on the show is Phryne/Jack, which is probably no surprise and I love their chemistry and how they are partners and support each other, even when seemingly at odds. Hugh and Dot are just so adorable, and I love how Dot grows throughout the show and forces Hugh to do his own growing. Phryne’s relationship with Dot is one of my favorites as well, for how she pushes Dot to grow and become so strong and very much her own person. Phryne and Mac is such a great friendship and I love how strong their love for each other is and what they will do to help the other. And Jack and Mac is such a fun friendship as well and I think a really interesting dynamic to explore.
I realize these aren’t really prompts and are just me gushing about the characters, but hopefully that helps with what I like about them. As for something more prompt like, I would love something to do with a case, or Phryne being her glorious self and dragging (but really, they’d all follow her anywhere) someone along with her schemes.
Request 10
Fandom: Pride and Prejudice (1995)
Relationships: Charles Bingley/Jane Bennet & Elizabeth Bennet/Fitzwilliam Darcy, Charles Bingley, Jane Bennet
Prompts: I love both of these ships, and would love to see something exploring their dynamic. I am also very happy with the idea of just Charles and Jane being the focus. I  would love to see more of the time between the successful proposals and the wedding, them learning more about each other and strengthening the feelings they already have. Post movie is great too! How are they adapting to being married and all the changes that brings? My love for modern (and other) AUs applies here, although I am also very happy with straight up canon. I have read the book as well if you want to include any details from there, although that’s of course not necessary.

A Spark in the Darkness (Part 7)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Baldwin Montclair/OC
Summary: Baldwin reveals his true existence and their relationship is realized.
Warnings: This chapter contains implied domestic violence. Please tread with caution.
Masterpost - Part Six
Christmas holiday for Alexandra consisted of the usual activities such as exchanging gifts, and eggnog. Her father’s fondness for her sister’s boyfriend was evident, they basked in his approval. Honestly, it was disheartening how cold he was towards Baldwin, which he didn’t even know, and how he was towards Mark. This time of the year was also unbearable for another reason, it always reminded her of the loss of her mother. The only reprieves she had was when Baldwin would call, she wholeheartedly looked forward to his calls, she knew he adored her.
He invited her to dinner once he arrived back in London. Dinner was beyond wonderful and took place at another restaurant filled will well dressed patrons. They spent it fully absorbed in each other’s attention.
The drive to Baldwin’s place was filled with adoring looks and touching. The interior of his penthouse exuded luxury. He led her to the main living room and poured them both a drink - red wine. His demeanor changed from the confident, and frankly sexy man, he was more hesitant.
“Baldwin?” she asked concerned and she sat next to her on the couch
He contemplated for a minuet “Lucius..” he answered noticing the inquisitive look on her features “My entire name is, Lucius Sigéric Benoit Christophe Baldwin de Clermont”.
“That’s quite a name” she responded not sure to what reaction he was looking for.
He paused measuring his next words carefully “Alexandra...I...I’m not what you think I am!”
“What you are?” She asked completely confused
“Alexandra...I’m not human…” he paused
“Not human? Than what are you?…” she didn’t quite know what to think
“A vampire” he spoke his gaze at the floor, he couldn’t bare to look at her. He feared what her expression was.
“Vampire?” She inquired “Do you drink blood?” She quipped sarcastically
“Alexandra!” He exclaimed and her expression changed instantly at the intensity in his gaze as he rose from the sofa.
“You’re serious.” She said in astonishment considering her next words as he turned his gaze to the fire.
“I shouldn’t have told you” he whispered shaking his head “It’s too soon”
She slowly rose from the sofa and stepped closer to where he was standing, he sensed her approaching and hesitantly turned towards her.
“Baldwin...Lucius…” she wasn’t sure what to address him anymore.
“Baldwin.” he quietly corrected her “It’s the name I go by currently”
“Baldwin.” She spoke with conviction stepping directly in front of him “I know monsters...and you’re not one” he observed to inquisitive look on his face as she stepped backwards and attempted to unzip her dress.
“What are you doing?” He asked concerned laced in his voice
“I need you to see.” she responded turning around beckoning for his assistance which he granted.
He deftly slid the zipper down which revealed more of her skin to his prodding eyes, and then he saw them the angry red scars on her otherwise perfect skin. He reluctantly brushed his fingertips against them which elicited a small gasp from her due to the sudden and coolness of his touch. The blood pounded in his ears as his blood boiled. Someone had harmed her, that was clear, and he would kill them!
Her quiet sniffles temporarily drew Baldwin from his anger at the realization that she was crying. “Cor meum” he whispered to her coaxing her to face him “Look at me” he whispered as her tear filled eyes met his “I will never harm you, you’re under my protection now” he whispered cupping her face with his strong and placing and kissing her, she didn’t resist.
By the look in his eyes, she knew it was true. She was safe after so many years of pain. After she gathered herself, Baldwin drove her back home and they agree to meet again the next day.
“Cor meum, what you called me last night” she inquired as she slid into the seat next to him “It’s Latin” she paused her eyes lighting up in revelation “...You’re Roman?” She asked “I’m sorry” she apologized seeing his amused look.
“Why are you apologizing?” inquiring as he drove off “I divulged a great deal to you.”
“As did I.” She replied staring off into the distance as he continued driving.
He looked at her adoringly “I’m fortunate you even agreed to see me again,” his voice had a hint of vulnerability as he reached over to take her hand.
How could she not, something was pulling them together.
“Mating…?” The shock was evident in her voice, although it provided some sort of explanation for the feelings she’s had. She leaned back against the sofa “Like...animals?”
“Gods, no!” He laughed “We’re more dignified than that!” He taking a seat on the table across from her.
“Than what comes next?” She pried even though she already knew
“We give ourselves to each other, completely.” He answered his expression never wavering “and usually marriage.” He added for good measure. “Alexandra, cor meum, vampires stay mated for the rest of our lives.” His expression softened as he took her hands in his.
“Eternity is a long time,” she paused meeting his gaze “but I’m...I won’t live forever” she continued training off her gaze become solemn.
“Don’t ever doubt us.” He responded moving to sit beside her, “If you’ll have me, I’ll cherish you for eternity.”
“Marriage?” She finally spoke, “My father’s not going to like that at all!”
“That’s what your concerned about?” He implored “Not about…” she cut him off with a passionate kiss.
They spent tonight wrapped in each other's arms, giving themselves wholly to each other and perhaps for the first time in her life she knew what it felt like to make love to a man who truly loved her. Despite all of the love he thought he felt for others, it paled in comparison for his love for her.
Baldwin woke with Alexandra fast asleep against him. He shifted so that his arm was around her and so she laid on his chest. She stirred due to the sudden shift in her position and blinked her weary eyes as the sun struck them.
“Good morning” he whispered into the top of her head “Did I wake you?” She mumbled in response he body still fatigued from the nights activities, he could tell she was deep in contemplation “What are you thinking” he inquired running his fingers down her bare shoulders to her hips before proceeding to more intimate areas. He loved the sounds of pleasure she made.
They emerged from the bedroom a few hours later thoroughly satisfied and somewhat bathed, hair still damp from their shower.
“Are you being...domestic?” She asked her surprise as he moved about the kitchen. She had always seen him in suites and his current ensemble of dark denim and a dark sweater was a welcome sight.
“I’m making breakfast,” he retorted seeing her amused
“This keeps getting better!” She exclaimed eyeing him teasingly as he walked around the counter and scooped her up in his arms and nuzzled her neck.
“What do I do with you, Mrs. Montclair” he mumbled into her neck
“Mrs…” she asked accusatory
“Are you upset?” He asked moving to gaze into his eyes
“No...It’s just…” she asked
“To all creatures we are married,” he paused to asses her reaction “To humans we aren’t...yet” he continued “All the paperwork and ceremony” he huffed reluctly parting from her.
He paused before departing the kitchen and disappearing into his office. It wasn’t long before he reappeared “We need to make it official” he said taking a knee in front of her and presenting a black box and opening it to reveal a breathtaking Thai Ruby surrounded by diamonds. Alexandra was rendered speechless “It was given to my step-mother by my father when they mated, ages ago.” He took the ring from its box and placed it on her ring finger, as her emotions took over her. He rose to his feet and embraced her.
Much to her surprise Baldwin was an excellent cook, they gave each other adoring looks over coffee and omelets. The adoration turned to pure wanton lust, which he explained had to do with the intense mating extinct of vampires. She didn’t deny him, she had no reason to.

OMG, this story is getting better and better.
I'm putting the read more below because I'll be quoting my favorite parts and I don't want to accidentally spoil something for someone
I'm putting the read more below because I'll start quoting my favorite parts and I don't want to accidentally spoil something for someone
«No secrets, no going back to the past.»
«It felt a little strange, to even be considering something so ‘normal’ after what had happened over the last few weeks but Andy was adamant your lives were not to be put on hold because of something that may or may not happen»
I think that's healthy.
«“They’re making me partner.”»
So, this was the reason to celebrate. Good news, indeed.
«“I’m so proud of you!”»
So am I. King, Thorne and Barber LLP sounds great.
«“Is it big headed to say I’m a little proud of myself?»
Not at all, dear Andy. You wanted it and worked hard for it, you earned the right of feeling proud.
«“Mr and Mrs Barber, your table is ready,” the host said when he approached you.»
Ngl, I squealed at that, especially with Andy cutting her off when she was trying to correct it.
«“I thought about giving it away. To a foundation or a trust, for victims of domestic or sexual violence.”»
When I read that, I thought "Just like Katie and Fliss" and, it made me realize that this is your third protagonist who has suffered of domestic or sexual violence.
«Maybe, but then I had an idea about going one further and starting my own place. Like a refuge type thing, where people can go if they need a safe place to stay.»
“I just don’t want the questions of why, you know? Why are you doing it? What made you want to do it? Nothing in my background publicly resembles any need to support that.”
I think that's a fantastic idea and I hope that someday she can do it without worrying about the questioning.
Andy's so supportive, encouraging her to follow her dreams and wanting to get involved and help her however he can:
«“So do it.” Andy looked at you, “there’s nothing stopping you.”»
«if you’re serious, I think we should go for it. I got plenty of contacts, and we can partner with the firm too, local authorities…”»
God, the sex scene in the breakfast bar was so intense. I didn't know champagne could be that stimulating (of course you didn't, you idiot, you are more of a virgin than Virgin Mary herself, says my self- deprecating brain)
They are spending their anniversary in Hawaii!!
«“Jet ski, okay. But I’m drawing the line at parasailing.”»
Honestly, I would too. I'm scared of heights.
«“Andy… Benoit Blanc here.”»
Blanc has something!! I can't what to see what it is

10 years ago: The Chris Benoit double murder-suicide [June 25th, 2017]
It was Sunday, June 24th, 2007. I was at a Buffalo Wild Wings with my ex-girlfriend and a friend of mine as we’d gathered monthly to watch the WWE pay per view. On this instance, it was Vengeance: Night Of Champions, an event where CM Punk would be battling Chris Benoit to determine the new ECW World Heavyweight Champion, a title that had been vacated by Bobby Lashley. As the event went on, it was announced that John Morrison would be replacing Benoit, with little explanation given as to why Benoit wasn’t on the show.
The next day, as I was driving home from work, my friend Brandon (who I’d watched the pay per view with the night before) called to tell me the news: Chris Benoit was dead. As I sat at a stoplight only minutes from my house, I remember crying immediately. Benoit wasn’t just a favorite wrestler of mine, but an inspiration to work harder, to never give up, to persist in the face of adversity, and to chase every dream you have, regardless of whether or not they’re attainable. I remember a video package the WWE had released for Benoit featuring the Finger Eleven song “One Thing”. This song still stands as one of my biggest inspirations as I recall how hard Benoit worked in wrestling.
What made this death that much more of a shock to me was that only weeks earlier, Benoit had wrestled at an Ohio Valley Wrestling event that I was at. He was very personable, smiling at anyone who approached him and happy to speak with anybody who had questions. This is a photo snapped that day:
Tumblr media
I watched Raw that night as Vince McMahon, who only a week earlier had been “blown up” in a limousine, stood solemnly in a ring that stood in an empty arena, speaking about Benoit as the episode showcased Benoit’s finest moments in the ring. The episode was originally supposed to be a 3-hour memorial tribute to McMahon. Throughout the night, different wrestlers spoke on their fallen friend, some very upset and downtrodden, but it seemed that some knew the grisly details where others hadn’t. Two testimonials that stood out to me were Chavo Guerrero Jr.’s, and a very grim one from William Regal:
youtube
Regal seemed to lead on that he knew more about the situation, as he neglected to comment on Benoit the man, but rather on Benoit the wrestler. As the week unfolded, details surrounding Benoit’s death came to light and showed that Chris, his wife Nancy (formerly known as Woman in ECW and WCW), and his youngest son Daniel were all found dead in the home that they shared in Atlanta, Georgia. According to the autopsy, Nancy was murdered first, bound at the feet and wrists. She died of asphyxiation on Friday, June 22nd, and was found wrapped in a towel with blood under her head and a bible placed next to her bed. According to the autopsy on Daniel, he had died on Saturday morning as he lay in bed, again with a bible placed next to him, with Benoit himself dying on Sunday, having used a weight machine to break his own neck as a bible lay on the weight machine.
Tumblr media
Although that’s the official cause of death listed for each of those involved, there are a lot of details that have been ignored following the incident. For example, several voicemails were left by Benoit to wrestler Chavo Guerrero Jr. and WWE official Brad Armstrong, both of whom stated that Benoit seemed “off”. Chavo later told that he had spoken to Benoit, who claimed that he’d missed his flight and wouldn’t be appearing at Vengeance: Night Of Champions, and was stressed out due to Nancy and Daniel having food poisoning. On Sunday morning, between 3:51 and 3:58am, several texts were sent to co-workers and fellow wrestlers from both Chris and Nancy’s cell phones, stating that the dogs were in the enclosed pool area, and that the garage side door had been left open. A call was also placed to WWE officials by Benoit, who alleged that he was taking his family to the hospital and would be in Houston for the event.
According to Nancy’s sister, Sandra, Benoit’s computer history included “ the quickest and easiest way to break a neck”. When WWE official John Laurinaitis contacted the Fayette County Sheriff's Department to check on the family, the police notified the WWE around 4:15pm to say that three bodies had been found, and that the home was ruled as "a major crime scene".
Several motives have been listed for the crime, such as Benoit’s mental state being so deteriorated due to years of head trauma that his brain “resembled an 85-year-old Alzheimer's patient”. Steroids were also listed as a potential lead for the cause, as “roid rage” has been prevalent for years among athletes, but as several wrestlers have stated since the incident, “how many baseball players have killed their wife and kid?” It’s also noted that steroid rage usually leads to “rage, not deliberation”, which leads to the question of why Nancy’s arms and legs had been bound. It’s been stated by Benoit’s peers that he was immensely paranoid, often traveling different routes from the airport to get to his home in order to evade potential followers. Several wrestlers have claimed that Benoit would have two sides: one that would lash out at you, and another that would be your best friend, with the events of the day dictating which one you spoke to. Brad Armstrong, however, stated that Benoit “never said a cross word to anybody”.
In 2003, Nancy had filed for divorce, citing “domestic abuse”, but the divorce was dropped and the two continued to be married until their deaths. Hardcore Holly would later state in his autobiography that Benoit would drink heavily when issues with Nancy would arise, which several wrestlers later confirmed. As more details surrounding the Benoit case arose, the WWE issued the following statement on SmackDown:
Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Last night on Monday Night Raw, the WWE presented a special tribute show, recognizing the career of Chris Benoit. However, now some 26 hours later, the facts of this horrific tragedy are now apparent. Therefore, other than my comments, there will be no mention of Mr. Benoit's name tonight. On the contrary, tonight's show will be dedicated to everyone who has been affected by this terrible incident. This evening marks the first step of the healing process. Tonight, WWE performers will do what they do better than anyone else in the world: entertain you.
Following this, the WWE have done all but eliminate Benoit from their history, often negating that he was part of several high profile events such as the Royal Rumble which Benoit won in 2004, or the main event of WrestleMania XX, where Benoit defeated Triple H to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Truly tragic, as the moment has often been cited as one of the greatest in ‘Mania history.
Tumblr media
This photo is said to have been taken on Saturday morning, as Nancy was dead in Benoit’s home. One strange part of the Benoit situation is that Nancy’s Wikipedia page (which can be edited by anyone) listed Nancy as being dead 14 hours before the bodies were found. The original edit listed, “Chris Benoit was replaced by Johnny Nitro for the ECW World Championship match at Vengeance, as Benoit was not there due to personal issues, stemming from the death of his wife Nancy.” The man who posted this claimed that it was written due to rumors he’d heard on the internet, and it was found that he’d also made several edits to other Wikipedia articles that were unfounded.
It was claimed that Benoit was “given ten months to live due to an enlarged heart” by Nancy’s sister. What’s strange about the case is that a large knife was found under Daniel’s bed. Prior to her marriage to Benoit in 2000, Nancy was charged with aggravated battery after chasing her former husband, Kevin Sullivan, with a knife in 1997. Benoit’s friend Dean Malenko stated, “He’s not a monster. We’re talking about a guy who, a month ago, was in Jacksonville and rather than drive down to Orlando, where he needed to be the next day, he took a flight to be home with Daniel.”
Another bizarre detail that never seems to get mentioned is that wrestler Dave Taylor was allegedly spotted at the Benoit residence before police arrived. Benoit's neighbor Holly Schrepfer was contacted by police to enter the property before they arrived to secure the dogs and check on the family. She discovered the bodies, and whilst fleeting the home, claimed that she saw Dave and his wife carrying a platter of deli food. In no way does this point to Taylor being involved in the deaths, but it's possible that he was coming by to check on his friend. It was suggested that he was sent by the WWE to check everything out and get the facts early to prevent a PR problem. This could also be why William Regal’s tribute was so grim, as the two were friends and tag team partners in the WWE. Taylor has since denied that this is possible, as he says he was in Texas on tour with the WWE. There is no evidence for him being in either location, other than Schrepfer’s claim.
Tumblr media
Benoit kept a personal journal following the death of longtime best friend Eddie Guerrero. In it, he would write letters to Eddie, which makes me wonder why he never wrote a suicide note or a farewell. In the personal effects returned to Benoit’s father, a handwritten note was found in a bible that said “I am preparing to leave this Earth.” Within a few months of each other, Guerrero, Johnny Grunge, and Victor “Black Cat” Mar all died, respectively consisting of Benoit’s best friend, his local buddy who he went to after problems with Nancy, and his riding partner on Japanese tours. Chris’ diary remains weren’t found by police, but rather by neighbor Holly Schrepfer in a garbage can.
There are a lot of facts that don’t make sense with what has been alleged to have happened. Toxicology reports claim that all three involved in the incident, Chris, Nancy, and Daniel, were sedated heavily. There are claims that beer cans were found near Benoit’s body, but there was no alcohol found in his system. There were texts sent from Benoit’s phone that were sent AFTER Benoit’s time of death, as determined by police.
There are several wrestling fans who have turned on Benoit and refuse to give credit to his hard work in the sport. That is their prerogative. I personally loved Benoit as a wrestler and will never shun the fact that he gave a lot to wrestling, but I also don’t have children and have never been married. I don’t know how I’d feel from that perspective. That being said, after watching several videos and reading endless articles and write-ups regarding the case, I do think that everything is worth a second look, as I don’t think it happened quite like we all have been told that it did. Nevertheless, two great figures of wrestling history died ten years ago, and the wrestling world was changed forever as a result.
Rest in peace, Chris, Nancy, and Daniel.

'Art In Boxes' Seminar (20 minute talk) - Marjolaine Ryley
('Art in Boxes' was a series of seminars for invited speakers and MA students held at PARC (Photography & the Archive Research Centre) at London College of Communication, University of the Arts, London.)
As you know I am currently Research Fellow here at PARC. I began my application by writing the following:
"Is the way photographs are collected and stored changing forever as the digital age takes an ever-firmer grip on traditional snap-shot photography? The magic of discovering a box full of dusty, faded old photographs under a deceased relatives bed has a magic and poignancy to it that has changed little with the passage of time. But how will we examine a legacy left on-line a personal collection out there in the ether. Squabbles over who gets to keep the pictures could be a thing of the past however the tangible objects we so love to hold may soon disappear altogether. Is the family gathered around the slide projector in order to view an obsessive grandfather's travels through China a thing of the past? Is this indeed the last picture show?"
My research sets out to investigate this statement and perhaps answer some of these questions. For this short talk I will focus on the relationship between photographs and shoeboxes, the digital dimension will be touched upon within this.
At around the same time that I was submitting my application I was invited to take part in the 'shoebox show', the exhibition Between the Sole and the Heal.
Initially I struggled to come up with an idea. Because I felt that there was such an intrinsic link and binding association between the photograph and the shoe box I felt that any use of photography in relation to the shoebox would be to obvious, even clichéd.
However the more I considered this and the more I began to ask why this connection exists, the more interested I became in creating a piece that utilised and even exploited this marriage.
Before I show you the work I created I want to spend a little time considering the shoebox/photograph relationship further. So - why do people associate photographs and shoeboxes and why do they keep photographs in shoeboxes? I hope you will be able to help me answer this? Sometimes we need to begin by asking obvious questions.
•  Shoeboxes are just about the correct size to house peoples' family snaps, usually machine n-prints that are 5 x 7 or 6 x 4. They can hold lots of packets of photographs or loose photographs together.
•  They can act as a transitory storage place before they come to rest, edited, in a family album.
•  We all have them. Going barefoot is not an option and so we all end up with shoeboxes. Also, it's hard to throw things away, after all that box may come in handy.
•  Perhaps there is also a secret enjoyment in the disorder of a shoebox. Images mix together randomly avoiding the order and repetition of an album.
In the BBC book (following the series) Who Do You Think You Are?The author Dan Wadell even goes so far as to offer the following advice when discussing tracing your relatives:
"Family photographs are helpful too even though at first glance they may not seem to contain any useful information. Heirlooms include war medals and press cuttings: be wary, these artefacts, old family photographs for example may need careful looking after away from direct light, heat and damp. A good idea is to find an old shoebox to keep them in. If any heirlooms are damaged, or require restoration seek professional help rather than getting creative with glue and sticky tape."
So it is of course a good idea to care for our images, to store them somewhere safe. To treasure them in fact. To keep them safe because they are things of value.
According to the French philosopher Gaston Bachelard, the relationship between human beings and intimate domestic spaces such as chests, drawers, wardrobes, and cupboards is perhaps more complex than it seems. (I would add types of boxes including shoeboxes to his list). Bachelard writes:
"Wardrobe's with their shelves, desks with their drawers, and chests with their false bottoms are veritable organs of the secret psychological life. Indeed without these "objects" and a few others in equally high favor, our intimate life would lack a model of intimacy. They are hybrid objects, subject objects. Like us, through us and for us, they have a quality of intimacy."
"A wardrobe's inner space is also an intimate space , space that is not open to just anybody."
A box may also be a personal, intimate space.
Just as the squirrel buries his treasured nuts so also humans 'bury' things: jewellery, letters, photographs, secrets in boxes, drawers, under beds... So perhaps the family album that is offered for public display forms a different function. The shoe box my be a place of secrecy a place for a personal hidden collection.
If we think of the shoebox as being fundamentally a container perhaps we can delve a little deeper into what it really means to put images within it.
Intimate immensity and the imagination
In talking about memory and the way our minds house this, Bachelard quotes Henri Bergson when he writes:
"Here and there in the brain, keep-sake boxes that preserve fragments of the past."
The act of putting photographs away in boxes insures our memories are kept safe. So a box can be an intimate container and the box as an aid to memory surfaces often. In an article in the Guardian's 'Family' section recently on helping children who have experienced the loss of a parent or sibling, Joanna Moorhead talks about ways in which children can be helped:
"They need to express their grief through art and play: one exercise ... involves the child using different colours of sand to represent the character of the person who's gone, and then putting them into a glass jar as a keep-sake. Another idea is to help children create a memory box: small children especially, tend to like objects that retain the smell of their dead parent or sibling."
What an incredible but obvious thought - a memory box...and no doubt we all have them. The idea of aiding our memories is present in everyday life, on a day-to-day basis as well.
Bachelard goes on to discuss another writer Henri Bosco and to use the example of one of his characters - Monsieur Carre-Benoit. Benoit has a solid oak filing cabinet, which he was deeply attached too.
"And what a marvellous tool! It replaced everything, memory as well as intelligence. In this well-fitted cube there was not an iota of haziness or shiftiness. Once you had put something in it, even if you put it a hundred or ten thousand more times, you could find it again in the twinkling of an eye as it were. Fort-eight drawers! Enough to hold an entire well-classified world of knowledge. M.Carre-Beniot attributed a sort of magic power to these drawers concerning which he said they were the foundations of the human mind."
Bachelard goes on to praise Bosco's description "for with this filing cabinet he has succeeded in embodying the dull administrative spirit."
The fear of loosing things, our lack of trust that our memories will remain with us, our anxieties about the order of our mental faculty - all of these drive us to create a world of order around us with things contained, filed, boxed, box-filed and neat and tidy. Out of sight and out of mind but easily available at a moments need. The chaotic domestic arrangements of so many must surely contribute to their chaotic lives and inner states! But of course there is also creative chaos and 'dull administrators'.
Bachelard talks about an example of the box and secrecy. A novelist describes how a father tries to decide between giving his daughter a silk scarf or a Japanese box. He decides on the box, as it is more suited to her reserved nature. "This young girl receives implicit permission from her father to hide her secrets; that is to say conceal her mystery."
Shoe Box Memories - The On-Line Shoebox
The association is indeed deeply ingrained in our western consciousness. Type 'shoebox' into google and a proliferation of websites and webloggs abound. Shoe Box Memories, my personal favourite, offers to free your images allowing you to create slide shows, DVDs etc.
There are sites that allow you to show your work / 'portfolio' described as artists' shoeboxes. And sites where the shoebox found under the bed has now been liberated scanned in its entirety and put online for all to see. Shoebox 1.5 is a software programme designed to better iPhoto. It is the ultimate filing system for your on line images - ironic as a shoe box is hardly the height of organization?
Or is it? As we have seen, it seems the shoebox is natural home of the photograph not just because they physically contain the images but because they metaphorically contain the memories that are connected with the images.
The internet explodes the personal, self-contained private collection out onto centre stage for all to see. As our private lives become increasingly public, as reality TV encourages people to tell all and the sex inspectors are allowed into people's bedrooms should we be surprised that the internet abounds with personal, now very public, weblogs, websites and the millions of images within them. 'New' families on the net may well have replaced the break down of the nuclear family. Genealogy is a hugely popular pursuit.
In Who Do You Think You Are? we are told that genealogy is the third most popular pursuit on the internet (behind personal finance and, er, porn). My favourite is Dead Fred.
Websites abound - you are practically railroaded into feeling you must trace your long lost relatives or else. And the terminology of all these sites is still about memories and shoeboxes!
All you need is imagination and a bit of glue varnish...
So, for my shoe box I decided to embark upon something quite challenging. I had a few ideas initially - creating a miniature filing system or filling my box with images of my box - but I decided to return to the good old world of craft.
After considerable research I purchased a bottle of UHU creativ'. I had decided to attempt the Victorian craft of decoupage.   Decoupage comes from the French word meaning to cut. Is also known by other terms - in Italy known as Arte Povero "poor man's art". I was relieved to read the blurb, as it was with some trepidation that I regarded the event. "Welcome to the wonderful world of creative handicrafts. With imagination and skill you will be able to make all kinds of decorative items. UHU creativ' would like to help you - with a range of great ideas and adhesives. You don't need to be a gifted artist to be able to decorate all kinds of objects in a creative way. Even printed serviettes or tissue paper can take the place of paint and brush. All you need is imagination and a bit of glue varnish..."
Villa Mona In Miniature
So I used the link between box and image and created a physical object, a shoebox that would have images physically rendered to the surface. Bound irreversibly together.
The images that are glued / varnished onto my shoebox are from the series Villa Mona, a body of work which is very much about exploring domestic space, the world of the interior and the gendered roles of the house's inhabitants in relation to the space they occupy. Villa Mona is a family holiday home on the Belgian coast, a place that myself, my mother and my grandmother have all spent parts of our childhood in.
I liked the link between the gendered roles of men and women in the Villa Mona and the female hobbies like decoupage undertaken by Victorian Women. In her essay 'The Pattern of Work', Judith Flanders writes:
"With more and more servants available to the newly prosperous middle classes, many Victorian Women retreated from the drudgery of housework. Industries grew up to provide these newly unoccupied, newly bored women with ways of killing time. Hobbies - or, as women rather sadly referred to them, their 'work' - were mostly craft-based, and entirely focused on the home."
Women were also charged with keeping family albums and they also kept extensive scrap-books - decoupage bridges / combines these activities.
I loved the idea of the box becoming a kind of miniature house and the reference to the dolls house. I liked the feeling of the interior particularly being wallpapered with images. The wallpaper often featured in the Villa Mona images. I like the idea of a house of secrets, buried treasure, memories, which is how I experience the Villa Mona. These are now embedded on the box and in the box but could also be put inside the box.
You can also discuss the box and house in relation to the dialectics of inside and outside, miniature and the imagination, and the house and the universe, areas Bachelard has also explored in 'The Poetics of Space'
I talked earlier in my RDF statement about the serendipity of the shoebox discovery. I think you still get this as you turn the box, open it, look inside. I included the quote for those who went as far as looking underneath the box as and finally underneath. A quote by Walter Benjamin reads:
"For the private man, the phantasmagoria of the interior represents the universe. In the interior, he brings together the far away and the long ago? The arcades and the interieurs, the exhibition halls and panoramas: they are the residues of a dream world."
I would like to conclude with a quote by Bachelard talking about the casket / container (box) and the imagination.
"Sometimes a lovingly fashioned casket has interior perspectives that change constantly as a result of daydream. We open it and discover that it is a dwelling place, that a house is hidden in it!"

Being Domestic with Benoit Blanc: Part 2
Here’s the part 2 of domestic bliss with our favorite detective!
- When it’s just the two of you, he’ll either call you darlin’ or your name. If you’re in a more professional setting or out with other people, he’ll probably call you dear. For you, you like to call him Ben or love when you’re alone and hun if you’re out with others.
- He likes to read the newspaper in the morning. For both personal interest and his job, he likes to keep himself updated on the news. He has several different subscriptions and as a result, he likes going down to the front office to get his mail every morning.
- He’s very into personal hygiene - especially since he’s getting older. He has no intention of becoming some old man who can’t take care of himself. He prefers to cut his own hair because it’s faster and cheaper that way. If you have a steady hand, he’ll let you try it if you’d like.
- You two eat breakfast and dinner together as much as you can. It’s one of the things he looks forward to when he’s coming home. Not to mention that he has a slight habit of forgetting to eat when he’s really invested in a case, so this helps break him out of that.
- There aren’t many secrets between the two of you (if at all). Benoit believes that the two most important things in a relationship are trust and communication. He’s seen too many cases where neither was there and he doesn’t want to have that happen to you. As your relationship lasted longer and you ended up living with each other, you’ve been able to become in sync with each other. It was difficult at first, it always is, but everything worked out in the end. The both of you try to be as upfront and as understanding as possible.
- He is a literal child and is simply incapable of turning down ice cream.
- While the two of you enjoy home cooked meals, you do tend to treat yourselves by ordering take out. This is how you turned him on to Chinese food. He was never a huge fan because, unlike you, he was never exposed to the good stuff. Luckily, one of the best Chinese restaurants is only a few blocks away. He’s not very good with chop-sticks. Like at all. You find it really endearing how frustrated he gets when he gives in and grabs a fork instead. You’ll tease him about it every time. Eventually he’ll get it through sheer willpower and determination.
- He has very soft snores and is a pretty deep sleeper. He’s one of those people who can sleep anywhere if he really wanted to. He doesn’t move too much either. But, if you do, he’ll cling to you in his sleep. In fact, he’s such a deep sleeper that he probably takes him a while to realize where the light bruises on his legs are from. He finds your embarrassed reactions to him teasing you about it very cute.
- He’s a shower person and so are you, but you do have an affinity for bubble baths. You like setting it up with candles, a tray for snacks, calming music. If you convince him, you might be able to get him to join you. He’s very sensitive to hot water. He likes his just above lukewarm, so when you guys take a shower together for the first time, he was in agony. He didn’t say anything, but he probably lowered the temperature by a degree when you weren’t looking. After that, if you ever take showers together again, he makes sure that he’s the one to turn the water on.
- He likes to go on walks to clear his mind. Sometimes you’ll join him, but only if he asks you to come with him. He might offer out of politeness, but you usually decline because you can tell when he needs his alone time to either think on things or to destress.
- He has a nice ass, but you don’t have many opportunities to truly appreciate it. But there have been a few times where you’ve gone hiking or had to do some physical labor. Those are the one of the only times you’ll see him in jeans. While he does enjoy a change of pace from time to time, he’s much more comfortable in business casual.
- He has a strange fascination with birds and owns several different bird related books. He’s been known to use them as metaphors from time to time.
- He does not like wearing hats. He finds that he looks weird in them and they never fit quite right. He’s perfectly happy with a scarf and the ear-muffs you gave him for Christmas.
I hope you enjoyed this - I had a lot of fun writing it! Please send me requests or ideas. I also appreciate constructive criticism. Also be sure to check out the Part 1! Thank you!

Being domestic with Benoit Blanc would include...
There’s not nearly enough content for this wonderful man and so here I am, making it myself. I hope you all enjoy!
Warnings: Fluff
- You! Have! Matching! Mugs! You had seen a nice mug set for couples and had asked Benoit if he’d be okay with it. He said yes! A few months later, he had come home from a trip and surprised you with a new set. He bought them as a souvenir and thought you’d like them. Now, you have four sets. If it weren’t for the fact that you don’t really need an exorbitant amount of mugs, you’d probably have more.
- He’s messy. Not in a bad or gross way, he just tends to be disorganized. He’s one of those people who know exactly where everything is even though the place looks like a train wreck. It’s for that exact reason that you don’t go into his office very often (unless it’s to bring him a snack).
- His closet, on the other hand, is very neat. It’s most because he doesn’t have much there to begin with. He just sticks with what he likes and only gets new clothes when he really needs to. That being said, he has one drawer from your dresser just for his ties. He usually picks them out based on his mood and he takes his time to choose the right one. Pro Tip: Get him one for the holidays or for his birthday. He’ll wear it for a week straight.
- He doesn’t tend to take cases that are out of the region. He likes being in the comfort of his home and you - it helps him think better than some hotel room. He always asks if he can talk his thoughts out loud and you almost always say yes. It didn’t take long for him to start bouncing ideas off of you.
- He loves helping you out with your job just as much as you helping him. He’ll listen to you with all of his attention when you feel you need to go through your presentation just one more time. He likes to learn and likes to hear your voice. It makes him feel better about him always talking about cases - he doesn’t want you to feel like he’s taking and not giving. Of course, you’ve never thought that because you love to hear him talk and to see him get excited.
- You’ve split the chores and do as much of it as possible on Saturday. The both of you try to make it as fun as possible with music playing or having jeopardy in the background (the winner gets a forehead kiss). There is no laundry machine in your apartment, so you have to go downstairs. Folding and hanging it when it’s done, while a bit tedious, is the best part. You get to rest a little and talk about the week or anything new that’s caught your interest.
- At some point, you get a cat. He has short hair and is a sand color. His name is Sleuth. You and Benoit took almost a week to find the perfect name. You take turns feeding him and taking care of the litterbox. Sleuth is pretty affectionate and will most definitely sit on you as you cuddle on the couch. You may or may not have a folder of Sleuth and Benoit napping together saved on your phone. When you need to take five at work, it’s usually the first thing you go to. They make you feel fuzzy inside.
- You really want to have at least one plant, but Benoit doesn’t have the attention span and you’ve always had bad luck with them. You settle on a nice arrangement of cacti instead. They sit along the windowsill in the living room.
- He always let you use the bathroom first. You never really understood it so one day you dragged him in with you so you could brush your teeth together. Now, it’s a daily routine. Maybe you’ll shave at the same time or do your make-up next to him. This is also how you got him into skincare. He has very delicate skin, but he always stuck with moisturizer. You offer some of your foam cleanser and he accepts out of curiosity. He ends up liking it, so you buy another bottle. He was very touched.
- After getting sleuth, he brushes the hair off his favorite coat every morning. You end up getting him a lint roller because it was getting a little ridiculous.
- You now have an affinity for cigars. He usually smokes them outside out of concern for your shared space - not to mention Sleuth. You find that the smell of cigar smoke and his aftershave becomes very comforting. Maybe at some point you’ll give it a try. Maybe you’ll even enjoy it or decide to save it for special occasions. If you are ever curious about cigars, he would be more than happy to tell you anything you want to know.
- Benoit is sober. He finds that alcohol can mess with his brain and he doesn’t like the feeling of not being in complete control of himself or having no awareness of what’s around him. He totally respects it if you do enjoy a glass of wine with dinner or relaxing with a can of beer. For fancy occasions, like an anniversary or a holiday dinner, he may have a glass of wine and actually enjoy it. While he doesn’t have a lot of experience with wine, he does like white over red because it’s not as bitter. Either way, he’s the most content with his cigars.
- Sometimes, when the both of you can afford to stay up late, you put on a movie. While he enjoys mysteries, he has a strong affinity for older comedies and musicals. They remind him of his childhood. Some of his favorites are My Fair Lady (1964), Harvey (1950), and anything Charlie Chaplin. He also enjoys more modern comedies, not just because of the humor, but because you were the one to recommend them. He makes sure that there’s always enough popcorn and blankets and enough space for Sleuth to join you. These little dates are some of your favorites.
- You’re not the biggest fan of shoes in the apartment - you like to keep them by the door. Benoit makes an effort to remember to take his off when he comes home.
- He likes hearing you sing, whether it’s while you work or washing the dishes. He’ll try to keep as quite as possible so you won’t stop. On the rare occasion that you spot him and continue singing (you usually clam up immediately), he’ll sing or hum along.
- He’s really good at listening. If you are crying, he’ll just hold you close to him, rubbing your back or kissing the top of your head. He’ll wait until you want to talk and always knows what to say or when to not say anything at all. It’s not often that he himself will cry. If something happened at work, he won’t talk much. It doesn’t happen a lot, but you can see the tells and will let him have his space. You might have to baby him a little to get him to eat because he will forget. When the two of you go to bed, he becomes the little spoon and will melt into your arms. You’ll rub his back and run your hand comfortingly through his hair.
- He’s not super into PDA, but loves cuddles. He likes to be the little spoon when you’re on the couch taking a nap. He loves having your hands running through his hair. If you two are sitting, you’ll be resting your head on his shoulder and your arms around his. In bed, unless he’s sad, he is the big spoon. He like feeling like he’s protecting you. He will make you wear socks if your toes are cold, but finds it amusing if they end up anywhere but your feet by morning.
- He radiates heat. You end up eating less pasta during summer because for some reason it makes him almost unbearably warm. It makes him sad that you are less willing to cuddle with him as a result. But in winter, it’s a whole other story. It’s the best time to cuddle because he’s almost like a weighted blanket. Hot cocoa, blankets, a movie and Benoit Blanc equal a wonderful winter weekend. It’s also the only time of the year that you demand he holds your hand when you find yourselves outside. At first, bless his heart, he thought it was because you kept forgetting your gloves (which was partly true) and kept reminding you to not forget them - he grabbed them himself at one point. If you just tell him you want to hold his hand, he’ll understand a lot quicker.
- He’s not very good in the kitchen. You try and teach him, but at this point, it’s a lost cause. He makes up for it by cleaning up the mess after. However, if you decide to do something super easy, you like to make him wear your ‘kiss the chef’ apron because it absolutely looks better on him than you.
Please feel free to send me requests or ideas! I really liked making this one, so I might do a Part 2...
