Vows of Rivalry

special thanks to @boldlyvoid for beta reading the first draft of this fic. pairing: Aaron Hotchner x female reader
Without further ado here is Vows of Rivalry.
Mock trial season. Every law studentâs worst nightmare. Except for one.
Most students dreaded the possibility of being pitted against Aaron Hotchnerâreigning champion since his first year. Hotch was renowned for his ruthless precision, impeccable argumentation, and the intimidating scowl that seemed permanently etched onto his face. But for Y/N Y/L/N, the prospect of facing Aaron was anything but dreadful. In fact, she relished it.
She could see it now: his jaw clenched, his lips pressed into a thin line, his eyes narrowing whenever sheâd poke holes in his carefully laid arguments. For her, it wasnât just about winning. It was about watching Aaron Hotchner, the unflappable law prodigy, completely lose his composure.
That day was no different. The mock trial courtroom buzzed with the tension of impending arguments, the air crackling with unspoken competition. Y/N adjusted her blazer, her eyes scanning the room for her favorite opponent. There he was, already seated with his ever-present briefcase of legal weapons, jaw set and brows furrowed as he reviewed his notes. She couldnât help the smirk tugging at her lips as she walked to her seat across from him.
The mock trial had barely begun, but the room felt like a pressure cooker. Y/N had just finished outlining her opening argument when Aaron stood to cross-examine her witness. As always, he delivered each question with surgical precision, his voice sharp, his gaze colder than a winter morning.
But she wasnât backing down.
âYour Honor,â she interrupted smoothly, âhe simply doesnât have the evidence necessary forââ
âEvidence?â Aaron interrupted, his calm demeanor finally cracking. He looked like he was about to explode, his face flushed with frustration. âEviâJesus, woman, you make me so annoyed sometimes. I just want to very publicly divorce you!â
The courtroom fell silent, and Y/N stared at him, stunned by his outburst. Then, instead of being thrown off, she smiled. âYouâd have to marry me first, Hotchner.â
Aaron stormed off, leaving the room in a buzz of shock. The judge cleared his throat awkwardly and called for a recess, but all Y/N could think about was how much she had enjoyed watching him unravel.
Neither of them realizing that the judge for this mock trial, their peer Marcus, had a murderous look trained to where Aaron had left.Â
Flash forward â Present day
The BAU office was quieter than usual, the team scattered as they worked on different aspects of their current case. Aaron Hotchner sat at his desk, tapping his pen absently against a case file, the rhythm of his movements betraying his usual calm. His mind wasnât on the casenot entirely. Instead, it kept wandering back to Y/N. Their history, their rivalry in law school, the way she always managed to get under his skin.
His mind began to drift to that impulsive night in Vegas that had been the culmination of all that tension
The neon lights of Las Vegas blared like a siren song, luring Y/N and Aaron into a world of wildness and excess. After an exhausting week of mock trials, they and their law school classmates had decided to blow off some steam and take a trip to Vegas of all places.
âOkay, Hotchner, letâs see if you can handle another round!â Y/N challenged, her voice slightly slurred as she leaned against the bar, her hair a tousled mess.
Aaron rolled his eyes, his own drink barely clutched in his hand. âI think youâve already had enough, Y/N. You know, you might actually lose your pants at the blackjack table this time.â
âHa! Please, Iâm a betting goddess! Youâre just jealous because I outsmarted you in court last week!â she shot back, leaning in closer, her breath a mixture of fruity cocktails and determination.
âOutsmarted me? You mean you got lucky!â Aaron replied, smirking.Â
âYou know what? Letâs get married!â she taunted, downing the last of her drink.Â
âWhat?â Aaron burst out laughing, nearly spilling his drink. âYouâre kidding, right?â
âNope!â Y/N declared, her eyes sparkling with mischief. âLetâs do it. Vegas style! You and me! A wedding! Right now!â
He glanced at her, both amused and wary. âYou realize that youâre completely drunk out of your mind, right? You know what they say about Vegas weddings. And I donât want to be part of a âyouâre-who-I-got-drunk-withâ story.â
She leaned in closer, her voice dropping to a conspiratorial whisper. âCome on, Hotch! Itâll be epic! Plus, weâll have a great story to tell during our class reunion 10 years from now about how we got wasted and tied the knot on a whim!â
âYeah, and how you lost all your money at blackjack the same night!â he shot back, unable to hold back his laughter.
âShut up!â she laughed, but then her expression shifted to one of playful defiance. âI dare you to come with me! Weâll show everyone that even stoic Aaron Hotcher can do something crazy with the right company! Or are you too scaredâ
Aaron raised an eyebrow, a grin spreading across his face. âYou think Iâm scared? You really want to drag me into this madness?â
âAbsolutely!â she insisted, grabbing his hand and pulling him towards the chapel like a determined toddler. âCâmon! Whatâs the worst that could happen? Weâll wake up tomorrow, laugh about it!â
âOr we might actually end up married,â he replied, a mixture of thrill and dread filling him as they reached the chapelâs entrance. âWhatâs your plan if we do?â
âUm⌠weâll just call it a really fun mistake!â she quipped, giggling as they stumbled into the small, tacky chapel. Elvisâs âCanât Help Falling in Loveâ played in the background, setting the perfect absurd tone.
Inside, they approached the altar, barely able to contain their laughter. The Elvis impersonator greeted them, his eyes twinkling as he took in their disheveled appearance.
âWelcome to the chapel, lovebirds!â he boomed, clearly accustomed to drunken couples making rash decisions.
âLovebirds?â Aaron muttered under his breath, shooting Y/N a glance.Â
âShhh! Just go with it,â she hissed, nudging him with her elbow. âItâll be fun!â
The officiant cleared his throat. âDo you, Y/N, take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?â
âSure, why not?â Y/N said with a grin, her tone decidedly nonchalant. âI mean, he does make a decent man most of the time.â
âY/N!â Aaron exclaimed, mortified and amused at her flippancy.
âAnd do you, Aaron, take Y/N to be your lawfully wedded wife?â the officiant continued, a bemused smile on his face.
Aaron shrugged dramatically, looking at Y/N with exaggerated seriousness. âI guess so. As long as she promises not to annoy me with her terrible jokes and awful puns.â
âHey!â Y/N shot back, mock-hurt. âIâll have you know my jokes are legendary!â
âLegendary at making people cringe,â he replied, chuckling as the officiant tried to stifle a laugh.
After a few more playful jabs and exaggerated vowsâfilled with drunken laughter and outrageous promisesâthey exchanged rings made of plastic and signed their names on the chapelâs official log, feeling giddy and foolish.
As they stumbled back out into the glittering chaos of the Vegas Strip, their marriage license in hand, they couldn't help but laugh that they even printed out one.Â
âIs this even legal?â she asked not expecting a reply, glancing at their license as if it might disappear into thin air. âYou would think that for a pair of law students we would know the answerâÂ
Aaron only shrugged, too drunk to think, tossing an arm around her shoulders. âLetâs hit the casino again. After all, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas, right?â
As they walked, their banter flowed freely, filled with giggles and playful nudges. They knew they would laugh about this ridiculous night for years to come, even if they had to figure out how to disentangle themselves from the drunken mess they had just created.
The next morning had been awkward, to say the least. They had agreed to get the marriage annulled immediately, laughing about how ridiculous it all was. Except, somehow, neither had followed through on the paperwork. It had slipped through the cracks of their busy lives.
Now, his mind kept wandering back to Y/N wondering where she was now. He couldnât help but notice how the victims all had a striking resemblance to her.Â
The team had been called in to investigate a series of kidnappings, and the more they dug, the clearer it became for him how they all looked like Y/N. Where was she now? He couldnât help but think. Was she safe?Â
He leaned forward, pinching the bridge of his nose, the weight of it all pressing down on him. He had to find her, his protective instincts kicking in.Â
âDid you find something, Garcia?â Hotch asked, breaking the silence of his office when Penelope Garcia appeared at the door, her fingers flying across her tablet.
She hesitated momentarily, her usual cheerful energy replaced with a seriousness that made Hotchâs pulse quicken.
âI⌠I think so, sir,â she said, her eyes widening as she glanced at her screen. âDoes the name Y/N Y/L/N ring any bells?â
Hotchâs heart stopped for a moment. His eyes locked with Garciaâs, his mind racing. âYes,â he replied, his voice strained. âSheâs⌠my wife.â
Garciaâs jaw dropped. âWait, what?â
Hotch took a breath, the memories rushing back. âWe got married⌠years ago. It was a mistake. We were supposed to get divorced, but⌠it never happened.â
Garcia blinked rapidly, trying to process what he had just revealed. âSo, youâre telling me⌠youâre still married?â
âYes.â Hotchâs voice was tight with emotion.Â
He stood abruptly, grabbing his jacket from the back of his chair. âWhat did you find?â
Garcia quickly shifted gears, âwell, her co-workers reported Y/N missing yesterday after not showing up to work,â pulling up a map of the latest victim location. âY/Nâs phone pinged from an industrial area near the docks about an hour ago. The unsub is still playing games, but I believe she is the latest victim, sir. It appears he stalked her online for a couple of weeksââ
Hotchâs jaw tightened as he listened, his professional side taking over. âSend me the coordinates. I want the team assembled now.â
~~~~~
The BAU team had nearly arrived to the warehouse, moving swiftly and silently. Hotch led the charge, his mind a blur of tactical planning and personal fear. He couldnât let anything happen to her. Not after all these years. Not when he was just realizing how much she still meant to him.
Inside, the air was thick with dust and decay. The unsub had clearly been holding Y/N here, but as they searched the space, there was no sign of her or the unsub.
Hotchâs phone buzzed. A new message.
It was from Y/Nâs phone, but the words were clearly from the unsub:
âDo you remember? Do you remember how much you tried to hate her? Tried to hide much did you love her? You wonât find her in time, Hotchner.âÂ
So this was someone from their past, but who? While trying to think of anyone that wouldâve been trying to get close to her and hating him he couldnât help but recall one fateful winter day that cemented them as academic rivals while also cementing his love for her.Â
The cold bite of winter air seeped into the library, where a few stubborn law students huddled around textbooks and laptops. Outside, snowflakes drifted lazily, painting the world in white, but inside, a different kind of storm was brewing.
Aaron Hotchner glanced up from his notes, his sharp gaze falling on Y/N, who sat across from him in their study group. The usual fire was in her eyes, and the faintest trace of a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips as she readied herself for another round of their never-ending banter.
âYouâre completely wrong, Hotchner,â she said, her voice sharp and teasing. âYour interpretation of the case law is so off-base, Iâm surprised youâre even here right now.â
Aaron raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. âIs that so? Enlighten me, then. If you can, that is.â
Y/Nâs face flushed, her hazel eyes narrowing in mock-annoyance. The faint crinkle of her nose appearedâthe one that always seemed to surface when she was riled up. It was something he had started to look forward to, something that drove him to keep pushing her buttons just to see that reaction.
âDonât tempt me,â she said with a huff, leaning forward to point at his notes. âRight here, you missed the entire point of the ruling. You canât just cherry-pick the facts that support your argument. Youâre better than that⌠or at least, I thought you were.â
Her words were laced with sarcasm, but Aaron found himself barely hearing them. Instead, his mind focused on the way her hair fell loosely over her shoulders, how her cheeks were tinged pink from the warmth of the heated room, and how that fire in her eyes sparked every time they clashed.
She was beautiful in a way he hadnât allowed himself to fully acknowledge until now. Heâd always admired her intellect, her tenacity, the way she stood her ground no matter how hard he pushed. But todayâtoday something shifted. It wasnât just respect or admiration anymore. It was something deeper, something that hit him square in the chest as if knocking the air out of him.
God, he loved seeing her like thisâpassionate, focused, and utterly unrelenting. His heart raced as he watched her argue her point, lips moving with a confidence that captivated him. Heâd always riled her up for the sake of competition, but now he realized it was more than that. He loved it. Loved the way her nose crinkled, the way her skin flushed pink when she got under his skin and knew it.
She was like a force of nature, and Aaronâagainst all logicâwas caught in her storm.
âAre you even listening to me?â Y/Nâs voice cut through his thoughts, her eyes narrowing further as she leaned back, arms crossed.
Aaron blinked, shaking off the haze of his realization, and quickly returned to their debate. âOf course I am. Iâm just trying to figure out if you actually believe that nonsense youâre spewing.â
Her mouth fell open, and that familiar spark lit in her eyes again. âYouâre impossible!â she snapped, throwing her pen down dramatically.
Aaron bit back a grin. âAnd youâre predictable.â
That earned him a glare, but he could see the amusement behind it. She thrived on this, just like he did. The banter, the push and pullâit was their language, and heâd never felt more alive than when they were like this. But now it came with a deeper ache, a longing he hadnât anticipated.
Later that day, after theyâd packed up and left the library, Aaron lingered near the hallway, stuffing his textbooks into his bag. Y/Nâs voice drifted from around the corner, chatting with her friends.
âAre you sure you donât want to come out with us tonight?â one of the girls asked. âMarcus has been wanting to ask you out and you always shoot him down.âÂ
Y/N laughed softly. âNo, Iâm good. I promised myself Iâd focus on law school. No distractions. Iâm staying single and just keeping my head down until graduation.â
Aaron froze, his breath catching in his throat. The words stung more than they should have. He had just admitted to himself that he might be falling for her, and nowânow she was putting up a wall, and he wasnât even on the other side of it.
Single. Focused on her studies. No distractions.
It was clear where she stood, and Aaron felt a knot of frustration tighten in his chest. He could never compete with her ambitions, nor would he try. He respected that about her. But still, it hit him hard, this quiet admission of hers that he had no place in her plans.
He stood there, hidden just out of view, feeling the weight of her words settle over him. He had never been one to chase something he couldnât have, and Y/N had just made it clear she was determined to stay unattached.
But if he couldnât have her the way he wantedâif she would never see him the way he saw herâthen heâd find another way to stay close to her.
That night, as snow continued to fall softly outside the window, Aaron made a silent vow to himself. If being her rival was the only way to be near her, then so be it. He would challenge her, argue with her, push her to her limitsâbecause thatâs when she was at her best, and it was the only way he could keep her in his life.
If being her academic rival was all he could be, then he would make sure to be the best damn rival she ever had.
The blood drained from his face as he reread the words. This was personal. The unsub had been watching themâwatching their past, their history. And now, Hotch knew he was the key to finding Y/N. Could it have been Marucs? Marcus was the other relentless suitor that y/n had. Could it be him?Â
He called Garcia, âwe are almost at the location Y/Ns phone pinged last. Look into Marcus for me, he went to school with usâ he orderedÂ
âLooks like Marcus has had many girlfriends that resemble Y/N physical appearance since graduating, up until last year in which his girlfriend broke up with him to marry someone else. The wedding date coincides with the first killing sirâÂ
âThanks Garciaâ he said as they arrived at the location.Â
The SWAT team had cleared the perimeter, and Aaron Hotchner stood just outside the door of the dilapidated warehouse. The once-industrial building had long since been abandoned, its cracked windows and rusting metal exterior fitting the profile of a man like Marcus Chambersâsomeone who had faded into the shadows, but had never truly disappeared.
Aaronâs heartbeat thudded heavily in his ears, the only sound louder than the quiet murmur of the team communicating over comms. Theyâd been tracking Marcus for days, and this was their best lead yet. But there was one glaring problemâit seemed Y/N wasnât here.
And time was running out.
The door to the warehouse creaked open, and Aaron nodded to Morgan and Prentiss, signaling them to enter first. Inside, the air was stale and filled with the faint scent of metal and dust. There were scattered pieces of old machinery and boxes, but it was otherwise emptyâsave for a table and the man seated at the far end of the room.
Marcus.
His dark eyes were fixed on the team as they approached, his mouth curled into a bitter smirk. He didnât make any effort to move or run, didnât flinch as SWAT flooded in behind them, guns raised and voices sharp with commands. He sat there, unbothered, like heâd been expecting them all along.
Aaronâs jaw clenched as he approached, unable to shake the burning anger and desperation clawing at him. Y/Nâs life depended on this, and every second felt like an eternity.
âWhere is she?â Aaronâs voice was low, controlled, but the fury beneath it was unmistakable.
Marcusâs eyes flickered with amusement as he leaned back in the chair, crossing his arms lazily. âYou think itâs that easy, donât you, Hotchner? You swoop in, play the hero, and save the day.â He sneered. âBut not this time.â
Aaronâs fists clenched at his sides. The rage boiling inside him was barely contained, but he couldnât afford to lose control now. He couldnât let Marcus see just how much he was getting to him. He wouldnât give him the satisfaction.
âIâm not playing games with you, Marcus,â Aaron growled, stepping closer, his voice like steel. âTell me where she is, or I swear you wonât like how this ends.â
Morgan stepped forward ready to jump and protect his boss and close friend, hand resting on his gun, ready for any sign of danger. âYouâre surrounded, man, youâre not walking out of here, so you might as well make it easier on yourself.â
Marcus chuckled darkly, shaking his head as if amused by the entire situation. âEasier? For me? This was never about making it easy, agent.â His eyes drifted back to Aaron, and there was something unsettling in his gazeâsomething cold, unhinged. âThis was about making you pay.â
Aaron felt the weight of those words, and it took everything in him to keep his expression neutral. He had known Marcus back in law schoolâhad always seen him as a man with an inferiority complex, always jealous of anyone who succeeded around him. But that was nothing compared to the bitterness Aaron saw now.
âThis is about Y/N, isnât it?â Aaron said, voice steady but cutting. âYouâve hated me since the mock trial when I said I would marry her, but Marcus you should know we were just rattling each otherâ
âBullshitâ Marcus yelled irritatedÂ
Marcusâs smirk widened. âYou have no idea, do you? No idea what it felt like watching youâgolden boy Aaron Hotchnerâget everything handed to you. The grades, the reputation, and then⌠her.â
Could he really know about Vegas, about them actually marrying? Aaron thought. It wasnât as if they actually lived like husband and wife, they had just forgotten to annul the marriage, granted, as far as he knew neither of them had dated after that day. Could he really be this infuriated by a piece of paper? Aaron decided not to focus on the pang of guilt he felt by thinking of the marriage to the love of his life as just a âpiece of paperâ he had to figure out where she was before it was too late.
âI watched you two,â Marcus continued, his voice laced with bitterness. âWatched you marry her like it was some joke. Like she was some prize you could just win and forget about.âÂ
Aaronâs stomach twisted. It all went back to Vegas. The night theyâd gotten drunk, the night he and Y/N had woken up with rings on their fingers and hazy memories of how they got there. A wedding that should have been forgotten, annulled, but had somehow turned into something much more permanent, a silent promise that they would always be there for each other. A promise he couldn't break, not after all this time.Â
 And Marcus had been there. Heâd seen it all. And he was dead set on breaking the fragile bond that was made that night between Aaron and Y/N. Â
Suddenly, a faint sound caught his attentionâa soft, muffled cry coming from the back of the warehouse. Hotch motioned for the team to follow as they approached a locked room. Kicking the door open, his breath caught in his throat.
There she was. Y/N. Bound and gagged but alive.
You were there that night?â Aaron asked, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.
Marcus nodded, his eyes flickering with something darkerâsomething dangerous. âI saw it all. You donât even remember, do you? How you laughed about it. How you said it didnât matter, how it would all be a funny memory years down the road. But it mattered to me.â
Aaronâs chest tightened. Yes, there was laughter that night. But, he hadnât brushed it off like it meant nothing. It had scared him the days after how much that marriage had meant to him. But Marcus had twisted that memory, had held onto it all these years, letting it fester into something deadly.
âThis isnât about Vegas, Marcus,â Aaron said coldly. âThis is about your obsession. Youâre angry because you never stood a chance.â
Marcusâs smirk faltered for a brief second, but the madness in his eyes only intensified. âI didnât stand a chance because you took her from me before I even had one.â
Aaronâs fists clenched tighter, his patience fraying. âI'm done with this, Iâm done with you. Tell me where she is. Now.â
Marcus chuckled, leaning forward in his chair, his voice dripping with malice. âYou really think Iâd make it that easy for you? No, Hotchner. This is your punishment. You donât get to save her this time.â
Aaronâs blood ran cold, a chill settling deep into his bones. He stepped closer, towering over Marcus, his voice deadly calm. âYou tell me where she is, or I swearââ Aaron couldnât finish his threat, noticing Marcusâ eyes flickered to the timer he set on a nearby table.Â
Marcus met Aaronâs eyes, his smile fading into something more sinister. âYouâre too late. She will be dead in 20 minutes.â
Aaronâs heart stopped. Too late. No, that couldnât be possible. Not Y/N. Not when they were so close.
âWhere is she?â Morgan demanded, his voice rising.
Marcus didnât answer. His gaze drifted lazily around the room, savoring the tension, the desperation on Aaronâs face. âYouâll never find her. Sheâs too far gone.â
Aaron lunged forward, grabbing Marcus by the collar and hauling him to his feet, rage boiling over. âWhere is she?!â
Morgan and Prentiss moved to pull Aaron back, but he was already too far gone. Marcus laughed in his face, taunting him with the one thing Aaron couldnât afford to lose: time.
And then, in a quiet, venomous whisper, Marcus finally spoke.
âYouâre looking in the wrong place.â
The words sank in, chilling Aaron to his core. Marcus had known all along that theyâd come here, had expected this, planned for it. And while they wasted time finding himâY/N was somewhere else.
Somewhere Aaron might never reach her in time.
He released Marcus, stepping back, chest heaving with frustration and panic. They had him in custody, but it wasnât enough. Not without Y/N.
They were running out of time, and Aaron knew he couldnât afford a single second more
Back at the BAU Penelope Garciaâs fingers flew across the keyboard, eyes glued to the flurry of data populating the screen. Sheâd been digging into Marcus's background, searching for anything that could lead them to where he was keeping Y/N. âCome on, come onâŚâ she muttered under her breath, frustration buildingâuntil suddenly, a detail popped up, too familiar to ignore. âWait a minute,â she whispered, freezing. She leaned closer, eyes widening as the puzzle pieces clicked. âThe old library!â
Spencer Reid, sitting across from her, looked up from the stack of files he was pouring over. âWhat about it?â
Garcia spun her chair toward him, her face pale with realization. âThat abandoned libraryâthe one Hotch and Marcus used to study at with the group. It was scheduled for demolition last year, but the plans were scrapped. No oneâs been there in years.â
Reidâs eyes lit up with recognition, and his voice dropped. âItâs isolated. Quiet. The perfect place to hide someone.â
Garcia immediately tapped into her comms, panic lacing her voice as she patched through to Hotch. "Hotch, I think weâve found her. Sheâs at the old library. Marcus has her at the place you all used to study.â
There was a beat of silence before Hotch's voice came through, tight with urgency. "We are on our way."
Aaron Hotchnerâs heart pounded as he pushed through the crumbling doors of the abandoned library, his flashlight slicing through the dust-choked darkness. Morgan was right behind him, followed closely by Prentiss, JJ, and Rossi, their footsteps eerily silent against the cracked tile floors. The air was heavy with mustiness, and the faint echoes of their pastâyears spent studying in this very placeâseemed to haunt the hallways. But there was no time for memories. They had to find her.
A distant sound, soft but unmistakableâa faint whimperâcut through the silence. Hotch froze, his breath hitching. His pulse quickened as his eyes darted toward a door partially ajar at the far end of the room. He motioned for the team to fan out as he crept forward, fear and determination twisting in his gut.
He pushed the door open, revealing Y/Nâbound, bruised, but aliveâlying in the corner of the room. Relief surged through him like a wave, but there was no time to celebrate, she was breathing but not conscious. Morgan moved quickly to her side, cutting her restraints while JJ and Prentiss scanned the area, and Rossi stood guard. Hotch knelt beside her, his voice low but filled with an emotion he rarely let surface. âYouâre safe now. Iâve got you.â
Her eyes, though tired and scared, widened when she saw him. Relief washed over her face âY/N,â he whispered, his voice cracking for the first time in years.
She coughed softly as she tried to smile. âYou⌠you found me.â
âAlways,â he whispered, pulling her into his arms. âIâll always find my wife.â
marcus scribner x THICC male reader
summary: just marcus loving you like with his heart, soul, and FAT SCHLONG. slight feminisation - donât kill me.
notes: LOVELIES! hope everyone is having a beautiful day. i wanted to let yâall know that i will be taking a lil break because itâs exam season. donât be sadâŚbecause this means i have an entire summer of smutty content to write and catch up on! ps. each word in this fic is me being another squat closer to the fattest ass in the world. ENJOY!
ALSO! the met gala is tonight! my favourite event of the year, i might make a short recâŚhow do we feel about that?
song rec: âfreakâ - victoria monĂŠt
marcus was well on his way to establishing a name for himself in hollywood. booking new roles, alongside his debut as a director, he was on track for a career that would rival his mentors. but if you were to ask him what his biggest achievement was, he would say being with you. the corny mf has actually reiterated his adoration multiple times during interviews, and the world is obsessed with how lovestruck he was. aside from being social mediaâs favourite young couple, you, yourself, had a blossoming career in fashion that meant you were styling your man to make sure he looked good for his press tours.
notoriously, you garnered a reputation for EATING UP on the carpet - zendaya being your only competition. this ainât no exaggeration, but every time youâd step out, those fits would break the internet. thus, when the news dropped that youâd be attending the premiere with your boyfriend, all eyes would be on you - yet again. having you on his arm, instantly elevated his aesthetic. not that he ever saw you as some pawn too boost his career, you meant the world to him, but your beauty as his trophy wife made him even more palatable. usually, youâd have an entire glam team by your side cultivating your iconic, polished look. but, you and marcus had both been working so hard, to the detriment of your relationship, and so you decided to spend the night at his, agreeing to do all the glam yourself.
âY/N,â Marcus bellowed from downstairs, putting on his rings, and spraying cologne onto his clothes. âbaby, we gotta go.â
âY/N! over here! to the left! Y/N!â a flurry of paparazzi screamed. âthe body is TEA!â one reporter exclaimed, making you laugh.
you graciously blushed. they werenât wrong, your pear-shaped figure, defined abs, and toned arms were nothing short of a sculpted masterpiece. amidst the bbl allegations on twitter, and every tabloid claiming to have the secret to getting an ass as perfect as yours, YOU were the standard. a beautiful, androgynous mix of allure and charm. not even chris evans, americaâs ass, said that you had the best glutes in the industry. it was a thing of wonder; something so many lusted for, and even more desired to have a piece of whilst having you in backshots. there were an array of wolf whistles from the public whenever you walked, swiftly followed by a gaggle of photographers snapping shots of your post-gym bawd.
marcus soon joined you on the carpet after finishing up on his interview. if the sensory overstimulation of flashes and cheers wasnât enough, this was heightened when marcus snaked his arm around your lower back. whispering sweet nothings into your ear, spectators were foaming at the mouth by his public proclamations of love, hiding your blush from the world.
âdonât be shy,â he said lifting your chin to his face. âthereâs that smile I love.â the whole crowd was gushing, you couldâve cringed at how clingy he was being in public, but found his confidence to do so, all the more endearing.
one thing that you sly liked about marcus, was how he jealous he could get, so many of his friends and industry buffs would come up to talk to you during the interviews, coming up for hugs, and even though he trusted you, his need to protect had him riled. marcus had a great relationship with all of his co-stars and they all became such a family over the filming process. you being there made the family even stronger, embodying the role of MOTHERRR in more ways than one, and they all appreciated your kindness. always there to soften the stressful tones of your bfâs criticism.
you were particularly close with his friend from another project, and due to mutual management you spent a lot of time in the same spaces. he came up and hugged you from behind, before being whisked away to speak with another reporter. all but a few seconds, lasted an eternity, the worst kind, burned into the possessive psyche of your man.
moments passed and it was time for group pictures on the carpet. you and marc were dead center, with his large hands gripping you tighter than usual. you looked up to see he was scowling, âlighten up bubs.â you giggled, to which your bf fixed his face - he could never stay mad when you were always there to calm his demons. not long after, the same face screw, that made his nose look so cute came back, as he remembered the voices of the media resounding in his head.
âdamn Iâd hit that.â
âMarcus is one lucky mf to be all up in dat pussyâ
âI bet the recoil on that thing is insane.â
it infuriated him to hear how the public spoke about you, as if you were some object, and not the kind person he grew so enamoured with. âIâm gonna fuck you so hard, you gonâ beg me for mercy.â he whispered , breaking that veneer of respectability for a brief moment, squeezing your butt, then turning back to smile at the cameras. youâd never seen that side to him, itâd be a lie to say it didnât turn you on.
throughout the screening, he made sure to let you know that all your teasing would soon be dealt with. the vulgar remarks were still plaguing him, and you knew you were about to be on the receiving end of it. literally.
âupstairs.â he said sternly,
the two of you started kissing, unbuttoning his shirt as he unbuckled your pants to free the globes of juicy flesh he loved so much. strewn across the floor, all fear of creasing the custom couture outfit you were wearing had disappeared - the overwhelming desire to make love to your boyfriend clouded your judgement.
you get down to business, kneeling to align your lips with his cock head. âdonât take this the wrong way.â marcus sighed, urging you to stand up, so frail against how tall your man stood.
âY/N, i just wanna fuck right now.â
you knew how badly he needed this, and a part of you liked how desperate he was to be inside you. but it was bizarre, marcus loved watching you suck him off, getting him all lubed to plough your hole, almost as much as you loved gagging on his meat. nonetheless, you obliged, bending over as you had your knees on the edge of the bed, hole puckering at the chill of the air. marcus grabbed your left cheek, caressing and massaging your upper hip.
âso fucking soft.â he whispers against your skin, kissing at your taint. it was as if he snapped out of his love drunk trance, and was left a primal shell of himself. he practically ripped off your underwear, leaving your naked bodies to rub up on each other as he scrambled to find lube.
âfuuuuuuukâ he groaned.
his thick schlong fit like a glove in your inviting hole, slick from your desire and his precum.
âdamn i missed that boy pussyâ - LIES. that man combusts if he isnât inside of you at least 4 times a week - wtf was there to miss? this sentiment made you smile at how whipped he was for you though.
his pace quickened. pulling his entire length out of you, except his bulbous tip, and spitting directly on your pussy to get you even more slick. âhear that baby,â he praised the âmac n cheeseâ sloppiness of your hole. âyour pussy was made for me.â he was right; most guys love skinny twinks because their petite butts made their topsâ look hung. despite the voluptuous curves you had, you were ample in both chest and derrière making average look like a micro penis inside you. all but marcus. he overpowered you in ways no other man could, his thick, girthy cock stretched you out in a way that blurred the lines between pain and pleasure. not to mention his length, during your first time he could barely fit half in without it feeling like he was stabbing your insides. but after some practice, you started taking him - ALL of him.
his grunts deepened. âpractically begging me to cum inside that hole.â gripping your hair up fucking you in doggy. style. marcus began leaving love bites on your neck, marking you for all to see. his big hand crossed to caress your childbearing hips. whoever said men canât get pregnant mustâve never accounted for marcusâ determination. his dick wanted to make you a mother so badly, and nothing was going to stop him trying.
âyou can take it.â he praises. âall. of. it.â slamming into you with a bold rhythm on his final three words. and that you could. your hole was heaven for him. every time he would enter, your thick meaty globes would bounce like jelly on his lower abdomen, making marcus even more inclined to give you your reward. you moaned out in ecstasy, your bodies were made for one another.
âwhoâs pussy is this?â his grip on your neck became tighter, still allowing you to moan out in response, âitâs yours marky, all yours.â fuck. you were whipped, almost as much as he was. âthatâs right baby, moan for me.â
âscream like the little bitch you are.â you and marcus both enjoyed the passion of rough sex, but this was something you hadnât ever seen in him before. he was a beast and you loved it, way more than you could ever admit. there was something sweet about the high you were on as you were being impaled by his dick.
particularly, he relished in hearing your slutty cries, âmusic to my fucking ears.â praising you âmy pretty little slut, fuck yeah, you want my load.â
âfuck yeah marc, give it to me please.â you screeched, loving how hard he was clapping your cheeks.
âshiiiiiiit, baby, fuuuuuck.â he spouted, spilling his pearliness into your pussy. he used his thumbs to kneed the dough around your hips, losing himself in the bakery he so enjoyed visiting every morning for breakfast.
gently, he collapsed on top of you, still inside the warmth of your flesh. after a gentle make out sesh, cockwarming your boyfriend until he was soft, your bf brushed up against you. massaging your thick thighs, marcus tended to the bruises he gave, kissing them reassuringly. you ushered him to lay his head between your pecs, as he put his entire body weight onto you. he sighed deeply, feeling safe in your warm embrace. âmarc, is everything okay?â you stroke his face, as your fingers laced into his curls. he snickered groggily, âshouldnât i be asking you the same thing?â - a fair question because he litch just wrecked your shit. âreal, but we both know that in a couple hours iâll be fine.â a silence filled the room, concern brewing in your heart. you played with his ear, knowing how he becomes putty in your hands. âfuuuuuck, you ainât gonâ stop unless i talk, right?â you kept quiet, trailing the tips of your fingers on his lobe. he sighed deeply, âi just get so possessive over you.â his last words muffled by your ample bosom as he came to the realisation that the pressâ words got to him more than he thought.
sitting up, marcus exhaled deeply. âi canât even blame them for ogling, youâre so beautiful.â âbut u ainât an object, and i hate that people treat you like that.â you caressed his cheek with a loving care. âcall it jealousy, possession, toxic - I donât care. youâre all mine.â marcus always felt the need to take care of what was his, doing better than what he had seen throughout his childhood.
you had an idea, trailing your fingers down his torso, circling his belly button, âwhy donât you show me again?â whispering into his ear as he breathed out in pleasure.
you kissed his cheek, before slowly massaging his dick tip, âhow much do you love me.â
marcus turned you over. stroking and licking his ear, yâall were so intimate. he held onto the grooves of your waist, fucking into you slowly, marking your neck with his saliva.
âyouâre such a dream to me Y/N,â he always had a way with words that made you smile like a school girl. âI was so selfish before, you didnât even come.â you always placed marcusâ pleasure above your own, but he was never satisfied with just brutalising your hole. he needed you to enjoy taking his dick, just as much as he enjoyed gaping your hole.
âguess Iâll have to fuck another load in, to get one out of you.â he joked, sucking on the sweet skin of your plump ass.
Romeâs Ancient Arch of Constantine Struck by Lightening
During a storm on September 3, lightning struck Romeâs Arch of Constantine, chipping the structureâs marble surface. The 1,700-year-old arch and its neighbor, the Colosseum, were two of several sites affected by the thunderstorm, which produced 2.36 inches of rain in less than an hour. Usually, the city sees a similar amount over the entire month of September.
âA lightning strike hit the arch right here and then hit the corner,â a tourist at the site told Reutersâ Alberto Lingria. âWe saw this fly off,â the tourist added while pointing to a fallen block of stone.
Finished in 315 C.E., the Arch of Constantine is one of Romeâs three surviving ancient triumphal arches, each erected to honor a person or event. This arch commemorates Constantine Iâs 312 victory over the emperor Maxentius. That same year, Constantine devoted himself to Christianityâthe first Roman ruler to do so.
The fierce storm also felled two large trees near the Circus Maximus, flooded the Trevi Fountain and flooded the Colosseumâs subterranean tunnels, reports CNN. After lightning struck the arch, staff of the Colosseum Archaeological Park quickly gathered its dislodged pieces and placed them in a secure location, according to a statement from Italyâs Ministry of Culture.
In the days that followed, some tourists stumbled upon additional pieces on the ground.
âââMy American group found these fragments, and weâre handing them over to the workmen,â tour guide Serena Giuliani told the London Timesâ Tom Kington on the morning of September 4.
Specialists are now examining the condition of the fragments. Officials say the damage was limited to the monumentâs southern side, where unrelated restoration work had started just days earlier, allowing for quick repairs.
At roughly 70 feet tall and 85 feet wide, the Arch of Constantine contains three separate arches, each framed by columns. The intricately decorated structure is adorned with recycled fragments, or spolia, taken from other ancient buildings, including monuments honoring Trajan, Hadrian and Marcus Aurelius.
The arch is also decorated with carvings of Constantine, including a series of reliefs depicting his victorious fight against Maxentius in the Battle of the Milvian Bridge.
In 306, Constantine was leading Roman troops in Britainâthen part of the Roman Empireâwhen his military declared him their emperor. His brother-in-law, Maxentius, also declared himself the emperor around the same time. After years of complex power struggles, the two rulers ultimately faced off in 312 at Romeâs Milvian Bridge, which overlooks the river Tiber. Panels on the Arch of Constantine depict the battleâs conclusion, showing Maxentiusâ troops drowning in the river.
The archâs recent encounter with lightning may have carried spiritual significance for its ancient builders, as âthe bolts were believed to be the work of the gods,â per the Times. These spots were sacred for the Romans, who sometimes erected temples at such sites.
Getting Hurt While Protecting Them (Deviant Edition)
Request:No
Warning:Burns, Zlatkoâs Death, injuries, blood,cursing
Characters:Kara,Alice,Marcus, Connor
A/N:This is the deviant version of a post I did a while ago which is linked here
Deviant Kara + Alice
You came with Kara and Alice to Zlatkoâs house where you met Luther and Zlatko, after the mans true intentions were revealed and you tried to keep Kara from losing her memories,but Luther was instructed to take you away and he did so. After freeing yourself with the help of other androids in the basement you made your way to where Kara was having her memories erased. As you were trying to figure out what to do, Zlatko found you and the two of you bagn to fight. You had thrown a water body between the two of you to distract him and gotten wet in the process, when he grabbed on of the snapped wires, which allowed Kara to fall to the ground and retain her memories, you sustained a nasty burn. You powered through it despite the shock in your body and knocked him out with a near by pipe before grabbing Kara.
âAre you okay?â She asked as you pulled her up.
âWe can check later, we need to find Alice.â
After doging both Zlatko and Luther you both managed to find Alice and in a remarkable turn of events Luther swapped sides and rose up with the experiments in the basement to kill Zlatko.When the four of you finally got a chance to settle down in an abandoned amusement park, Kara checks Alice and then goes straight to you.
âYou are hurt, did Zlatko do this?â She questions, the caoncern is evident in her face.
âYes and no, I was dumb and threw a bottle of water in a room full of electrical appliances,so he took his shot,âÂ
She pauses searching for the right words to say before running water over it it and wrapping it up to the best of her abilities.
âThank youâŚyou saved Alice.â
âNo, I saved my family.â
Deviant Marcus
Marcus didnât make a habit out of trusting humans, but you had helped pull him from the android graveyard and help piece hisself back together again with your own two hands and he knew he could trust you.He knew that at anyone you would put your life on the line for the safety of another androids whether they had deviated or not, and you had in the past, not to mention you treated his goal almost as seriously as he did.
The incident happened when you joined him for a hesit of thirium and biocompenents, he had been shot in a vital component during a chase. You took his arm over your shoulder and helped him escape, but in the process of fleeing over a gate you were bit in the thigh, your jean shorts soaked in your own blood the wound seeping blood the entire journey back to Jericho. It was here, after he assessed the other adriods and you finished helping others replace their components, that he noticed you were wounded.He places a hand on the wound, his eye scanning it with a look of concern.
âWhy didnât you get that taken care of?â
âOthers needed their components replaced,â You respond shrugging as he removes his hand, the artificial skin covered in an alarming amount of your blood, âI didnât sit down until just now, so I never got to it.â
The moment you finish speaking, he hoists you up on a broken interface and takes a closer look. After inspecting it, he cleans the wound and bandages it up, all the while he is telling you how human and stupid it was.
âYouâre not even listening are you?â
âHalf-way, thatâs gotta count for something,â You smirk as he looks up at you.
âWhy didnât you just leave me there?â His eyes narrow as he asks you the question, as if expecting something different than what you say.
âWell,â You sigh dramatically, âJericho just wouldnât be the same without Markus, the big, bed, fearless android leader, now would it?â You tease, nudging his shoulders as you slide down and off the interface.
You only chuckles a little and shakes his head.
Deviant Connor
Hank wasnât answering his phone and everywhere you and Connor turned androids,devaint or not, were being executed in droves. No where was safe until you and Connor stumbled across an android named Markus who gave Connor a single mission: to collect soldiers for the andriod army. You refused to leave Connors side as he carried out said mission and he had no choice but to let you. An android entering a human made it much less suspicious anyways, and it worked up until the second model of Connor approached. You could always tell the real Connor, for the longest time he didnât believe he had a lick of human emotion or deviancy in him until it was nearly forced out of him.
You watched in anticipation and fear as Hank had the gun trained on you, then Connor, then Fake Connor. He wouldnât let you move an inch, assuming you were a replica to,as he questioned the two androids. You didnât think twice when you stopped infront of your Connor when you heard the gunshot.You didnât even stop to look where the bullet when when Hank shot the right Connor as you turned around and gave Connor a once over, looking for any kind of injury that would indicate he was damaged.Â
It wasnât over yet, with all the commotion and the trouble in the elevator before hand the three of you had to move fast. And move you did, you made it to the frontlines with Markus and had the honour of standing beside him as you watched history unfold infront of your eyes. Overtime, Connor had developed a habit of observing his surroundings visibly but now he is dead still and his hand gun equiped is steadily rising. You gently hold the gun in your hands and call his name, your voice prying him from Amamndaâs grip. The alarm of nearly killing you sets in, and as he looks to where you have the fun pointed his LED flashes red. Your shirt is covered in blood, with the adreanline of a possible Civil War on your hands you hadnât noticed that you had been running around with a bullet embedded in your side.
The moment the standoff had ended, Connor rushed you to the hospital where you were taken care of. He sat on the bed next to you, his LED pensively blinking as he stared at the ground, before he finally spoke, clearly still trying to wrap his processors around what had happened in the past 48 hours.
âYou let him shoot youâŚâ
âYes, that is correct.â
âWhy?â When he asks this, he turns to face you his eyes scanning your face for any signs of unwell mental stability but he finds none. Youâre heart rate is normal, your respiratory rate is pristine, no signs of PTSD or early truama, yet youâre lying in a hospital bed with a hole in your side.
âBecause I didnât want you to die, Connor.â
âHe was aiming for a non-vital component in my body, I had a 96% survival rate even if he shot me.â
âI didnât like that 4%.â
âOhâŚthank you.â
âYou can thank me with a kiss,â
Hank walks in the room hears this and laughs talking about how someone owed him 50 bucks and a bottle of booze.As the two of you share a gentle kiss.
Eye of the Storm - Chapter 2
Pairing: Silco x Reader Rating: Explicit Warnings/Tags: graphic depiction of violence; slow burn; enemies to lovers, enforcer!reader Word count: 3.6k
Summary: After a chain of unexpected events, Jinx is arrested, and you find yourself in possession of the gemstone. On top of it all, you are forced into a reluctant alliance with Silco. What else could possibly go wrong?
Takes up at the end of episode 7.
Read on ao3 â Previous chapter âNext chapter
The last time you had been in the city council building was for your graduation at the enforcer academy, years ago. As you are now led to the hearing room, the place strikes you as immense and comically shallowâjust like it did the first time.
Beautiful, no doubt, but empty and cold, devoid of personality and humanity. The archives are the exception. Youâd barely gotten a glimpse of them back then, but you had wanted to go back ever since. The immense room was brimming with books, artefacts, and knowledge dating back centuries. Piltover had its share of problems, but it had always been a remarkable city. Hextech had only confirmed that. It transformed the lives of Piltovians for the better, improving transportation, the use of technologies, healthcare. One day, you think to yourself with a smile, youâll find a way to sneak into that room again. But alas, for now, your current position doesn't allow for such privileges. Your smile fades a little as a large, heavy door opens before you, and you are reminded of why youâre here.Â
The councillors are in the middle of a heated debate, apparently trying to determine just how tight to close their fist around the undercityâs throat. It has not escaped your notice that the citizens of Piltover were deeply shaken by yesterdayâs events. The streets are empty, shipments are being delayed or even cancelled at an alarming rate, and some people have even started leaving the city. Not that you can blame them. The repeated clashes between Silcoâs goons and the Firelights have gotten more frequent, just like the assassinations of enforcers. It may have been years, but no one up here or below has forgotten the riots.Â
You balance yourself on your feet as you wait for the councillors to finish. They donât seem to be in a hurry. At some point you even wonder if they have noticed your arrival. You gaze absently at the dome-shaped ceiling, calculating how many yous it would take to reach it. So high and out of reach, disconnected. After a long minute, and with swift apologies, Councillor Kiramman gracefully puts you out of your misery. Among the people present, you can safely admit that she is one of the more groundedâwell, as grounded as Piltovians can be, but sheâs not afraid to swim against the tide when the need arises. Show of proof, you wouldnât be there otherwise.Â
She introduces you to the other six members, states your rank, and your part in arresting Jinx. With minute details, you go over the events of the day before, the showdown between the Firelight leader and Jinx, the bombs, and the aftermath. The council has already heard from Caitlyn Kiramman this morning and you confirm Marcusâ betrayal. When councillor Salo inquires about the alleged deal between the late Sheriff and Silco brought forward by Caitlyn, you fail to suppress a light scoff, to the great displeasure of your interlocutor.
"Is there something amusing? Please, indulge us, officer, I do love a good joke in the midst of tragedy."
You clear your throat, arms crossed behind your back. "Respectfully, councillor, a blind man would have seen the connection." Salo fixes you with contempt, but leaves it at that.
"What about the gemstone?" He continues, "Officer Kiramman stated that it was the very reason she was meeting with Marcus, but thereâs been no trace of it since then." You display your most convincing expression of surprise.Â
"I was not privy to the details of that meeting. It was only after my medical check-up this morning that I was made aware of the stone." The councillors exchange disappointed looks across the circular table. Itâs been days since Progress Day, when the Hextech technology was stolen. Until last night at least Piltover knew where to look. Now, the Gemstone is in the wind, just about anybody could put their hands on it. True, the chances of this person actually being able to use the Hextech technology are thin but that uncertainty is far from satisfactory to the Council. On top of it all, it represents a tremendous economic hit for Piltover due to the colossal amount of third party investments revolving around Hextech. The city would recover eventually, but its reputation would be tarnished for decades to come.
Council members Medarda and Shoola follow up with more general inquiries about the riots, the protesters, and the arrests. Meanwhile, Bolbok and Hoskel seem more interested in moving on to more economic and trade matters. Jayce Talis, the man of progress himself, has not uttered a single word since you walked in, but his brain is buzzing, and you can see the restlessness in his posture, and the way his jaw tightens each time the others drone on about policies and regulations. Clearly heâd rather be anywhere else, crafting the next jewel of Hextech, running numbers, and solving equations alongside that curious partner of his. Heâs not a bureaucrat, and at that particular moment, heâd much rather do the work than simply talk about it.Â
Councillor Kiramman asks you about the morale of the enforcers deployed. You canât tell if the concern is genuine, or if this is all just political decorum. Either way, you gladly put in a word for more ample rations, surely that canât be too much of a dent in the cityâs budget.Â
At last, the interrogatory comes to an end, and a discreet exhale of relief escapes you as each councillor thank you for your service and presence. You are in the middle of excusing yourself when Salo cuts you off.Â
"One last question, if I may. Multiple witnesses confirm that Silco, the industrialist, was at the scene last night. Why not arrest him too?"
You frown, "On what grounds? The council itself concluded that he runs hisâŚbusiness by the book."
"True," he presses, tone unyielding. "However, after Marcus revealed himself as a traitor, one would think you would have reconsidered Silcoâs true role in all this."
Normally, you donât take kindly to being called dense, especially in front of an audience. But now isnât the time to let pride get in the way. This testimony is far from routine; you need to tread carefully here. As far as Piltover is concerned, this entire operation is a no show. The city is on edge, its Sheriff exposed as a corrupt traitor, and the gemstoneâŚwell, thatâs strictly need-to-know. The truth is, Piltover is not looking too sharp at the moment, and neither is the council. They are looking for a scapegoat. All things considered, youâd much rather appear naĂŻve for a few seconds than be caught with the Gemstone in your back pocket.
"Iâm an enforcer, not an investigator." You say with a slight shrug. "But I believe that Silco is more valuable to us down there than rotting in Stillwater."
Salo leans forward, curious to hear your input. "And why is that?"
"So far, save for a few dissidents, the people of the undercity have mostly kept to themselves. Enforcer presence at the border is only effective because the other side is not interested in making trouble. Yet. Weâre not the ones keeping the undercity in check. And neither are you or your policies. Silco is."Â
Salo sneers. "And what a marvellous job heâs doing!"
You hold your ground, trying to ignore the mocking laughs rising around the table. "Surely I donât need to remind you what happens when the underground is really out of control. This is nothing."
"Watch your tone, officer. Donât forget your place."
You muster every ounce of self-control, taking a deep breath as Councillor Kiramman calls for a bit of decorum. You give her a quick, appreciative nod before continuing, "I made a judgement call, if you wish to punish me for it, thatâs entirely up to you. Our orders were to stand watch on the bridges, and make arrests. Nothing more, nothing less."
Salo looks ready to press further, but Councillor Medardaâs patience is running thin as well. "Iâm sure there will be no punishments necessary." She offers a composed smile, folding her hands together. "Once again, thank you for your time." She pauses, then seems to remember something important, and her smile sharpens. "Oh, I nearly forgot. Some good news at least. It seems youâve been promoted." You stare at her, mouth agape and completely thrown off. "My congratulations, Major. Youâll be sure to extend my sympathies to Warren as well."
Of all the things that you expected from this meeting, this wasnât even part of the honourable mentions. "Warren, maâam?"
"He will be the cityâs new Sheriff, of course."
"Of course." You echo, the words slipping out reflexively as your mind is still reeling. You nod absently, thank the council, and with a final glance around the room, you turn and make your way toward the large doors that the guards are pushing open for you. The corridor outside somehow feels even emptier than before, each step echoing as you replay her words in your mind. Major. Youâd walked in here prepared to defend yourselfâprepared for the occasional lecturing and patronising, maybeâbut a promotion? That hadnât even crossed your mind.
You decide to go all the way home on foot todayâsome fresh air might do you some good. So many events in so little time. You sigh. Itâs not that you miss your old lifeâno, you wouldnât go back for anything. But there was a rhythm to it, a familiarity. You did your part and did it well. Until the sickness made it unbearable. Here, everything feels out of reach, beyond your control. Itâs not quite what you imagined. Not that you came to topside with the intent of sparking fundamental change or flipping the narrative. You would gladly call yourself an idealist, but youâre not delusionalâsomething your mother would argue against. Maybe, somewhere deep down, you once thought you could make a difference, but that ship sailed long ago.Â
Unsurprisingly, the locals have deserted the food market today, much to the tradersâ dismay. They linger behind their stalls, looking miserable, surrounded by products that will likely go unsold. Another week of nearly nonexistent pay, and most of this food will end up wasted. Maybe you can profit from that.
You treat yourself to a cheese sandwich and pick up some fruits and fish for the next few days. You approach the bread stall with a tinkle in your eye. A bit of small talk here, a few shared laments about the dire economy there, and you walk away with five huge pieces of brown breadâfree of charge. The uniform surely helped a little too.
Taking an enthusiastic bite of your sandwich, you start making your way out of midtown, when you hear someone calling your name in the distance. The smile that spreads across your face as your eyes lock on the massive Vastaya jogging towards you is one of pure joy and excitement.
"Dren! I thought that was you!" You barely have time to set your grocery bags on the floor before strong strong arms lift you off your feet and spin you around. When he finally puts you down, Dren towers over you by at least a foot.Â
Like most Vastayas of his species, he boasts stunning purplish skin covered by a very thin layer of fur, thick jet-black hair, and vivid fluorescent green eyesâeyes you are convinced are twice as sharp as human ones, though he always denies it. Truth be told, youâre still a little salty about constantly losing shooting contests and training sessions to him. The two of you find the nearest bench and start catching up on everything thatâs happened over the past four months or so, while Dren was in training. Eventually, the conversation shifts to the events of the bridge. You keep it brief, doubtful he wants to hear the gruesome details.Â
"What about you?" You ask, steering the conversation away. After the testimony just minutes ago, youâve had enough of this topic for the day.
"WellâŚitâs official." Dren discreetly pulls a shiny paramedic insignia from his satchel. "I was just on my way to headquarters to pick up all my gear." You watch him as he gazes at the small object resting in the palm of his large, clawed hand, his expression transfixed.Â
"Iâm so proud of you. I hope weâll get to work together again, now that Iâ" You stop yourself mid-sentence, and Dren is too lost in his own thoughts to notice. This is his moment after all. Besides, the ceremony isnât even planned yetâplenty of time to share the news.
"Howâs Olenna these days?" The question jolts you out of your happy little trance. Dren is part of a very small circle of people who are aware that your relationship with your mother is complicated, to put it gracefully. He knows how painful it is for you to talk about her, but he always asks. Heâs unapologetically direct and straightforward like that, which is one of the reasons you like being around him. He challenges you constantly, body and mind.Â
"Not improving," you admit with a sigh. "Not getting worse, either. At least, I donât think so. Itâs hard to tell." Dren nods silently, his green eyes fixed on you with a disarming attentiveness that always makes you feel both seen and vulnerable. When you donât elaborate, he pats his hands on his thighs, and rises from the bench.
"Well then, Iâm sure a nice dinner will do her some good. Her and you." You chuckle at the remark. It has been an intense few days for sure, and you can physically feel the bags pulling at your eyes and your entire body screaming with fatigue. You part ways after a long hug, him striding towards the university district, you towards the undercity.
Theyâre still scraping up blood and body parts off the main bridge; youâll have to make a small detour. The protests have died down significantly, and from experience, you wager it will remain that way for a couple more days. Hopefully, youâll be able to rest properly for once. You cross the southeast bridge without a hitch, a group of demonstrators throw nasty looks in your direction, but they donât make any trouble.Â
As soon as you reach the other side, you smell it. The pungent, heavy atmosphere of the underground. A stench that gives every visitor, foreign or local, a clear picture of what to expect once they enter the undercity. The familiar tang of rust and oil invades your nostrils, and you automatically reach down into your collar to adjust the sensibility on your chemsurge. Here, the smells cling to everythingâyour clothes, your skin, your very breath. It takes a few showers to get rid of it; youâve learnt that the hard when you started working in Piltover. All things considered, the promenade level is not so bad. At least the sun is still visible there, faint but persistent, piercing through the cloud of fog hovering menacingly above. But as you descend deeper into the city through endless flights of worn stairs, it gets darker and darker, until your surroundings turn a murky haze of green and brown. The only light comes from the old street lamps lining the path. Their glass casings are grimy and cracked, some sputter and pop as though they might burn out at any moment.Â
The alleys of entresol are mostly empty at this hour, but theyâll come alive with chatter, the clinking of drinks, and the inevitable clash of street brawls as the evening sets in. The sounds here are already louder, more chaotic. Voices echo through the narrow alleys, overlapping to create an overwhelming cacophony. Your gaze drifts towards the walls that are covered in graffiti. Beautiful murals, meticulously painted to retrace the history and pay tribute to the notable figures of each neighbourhood.Â
As you make your way through the industrial district, the faint hum of machinery fills the place, a blend of churning and groaning punctuated by the sporadic hiss of steam vents and the distant clatter of pipes. Workers pass by, their clothes stained in grease, sweat and coal. Their faces are weary, marked with exhaustion, yet there is an undeniable air of camaraderie among them. Cables and pipes crisscross above, dripping occasional beads of liquid onto your shoulders or the ground with a soft plink. The pavement beneath your feet is uneven, a patchwork of scavenged stone and scrap metal, slick with oily puddles that reflect the faint glow of the lights.
At last, the distinct reddish roof of your motherâs house comes into view. You step inside, slide your muddy boots off, and leave them on the small doormat right behind the door.
"Ma, Iâm home." You announce yourself loudly as you set the groceries down in the kitchen. You put everything away, sliding the items in their proper drawers and cupboard. Your mom is very particular about that. You set two breads aside for yourself before grabbing a large container of water from under the sink. Pouring some into a clean glass, you set it on the wooden table.
Olenna emerges from the dimly lit corridor, her warm sleeping clothes hanging loosely on her frame and a book resting in her hand. "Itâs barely noon," she says dryly, pulling herself a seat.Â
"It was just a routine council meeting," you reply matter-of-factly, your hands reaching for the little compartment that holds her medicines.Â
"Must be nice for those Pilties," she scoffs, before a heavy coughing fit overtakes her. "They sure donât push themselves too hard, do they?âŚYou would know."
You ignore her remark and ask, "Is fish porridge okay for today?"
"Oh, itâs okay," she replies, her voice dripping with passive aggression. "Just like it was okay yesterday, and the day before that." You know better than to engage, so you simply place two painkiller tablets in front of her.Â
"Those things are killing me, you know."
"Iâm sure theyâre the least of your problems." Her face tightens, clearly offended, and she is about to argue, but you put your hand up.
"Justâ" You are used to this ridiculous back and forth, itâs the same charade everyday. "Take the meds." You slide the glass of water across the table and wait. It takes the usual five or six seconds for your mom to give in. Finally, she grabs the pills, shoves them into her mouth, and downs the glass like itâs a shot of fine whiskey. After a few very exaggerated heavy breaths, she stands up. "Okay, Iâm ready."
The process is always the same. Olenna sits backwards on the chair, her arms crossed over the backrest while you transfer a small dose of tampered Shimmer in a syringe. The light purple liquid spreads slowly, almost hypnotically. You lift your motherâs shirt up and quickly find the spot along her spine where the needle needs to go. Her body becomes rigid as you empty the content of the syringe all the way through, but itâs very brief. Once youâre all done, you clean everything up and get to cooking.Â
As usual, most of the dinner is spent in comfortable silence. Occasionally, youâll try to make small talk. You get a word or two in return, a full sentence if youâre lucky. You smile quietly to yourself as Olenna puts her fork down. She can criticise your cooking all she wants, but she always finishes before you, leaving nothing but a clean plate behind.Â
You drape your uniform jacket over your shoulders and grab the grocery bag with the bread, calling out from the hallway.
"Goodnight, Ma. Iâll see you tomorrow."
"If I havenât kicked the bucket by then," she shouts back.
"Whatever you say, Ma." You throw one last glance behind youâOlenna is already lost in her bookâand head out the door.
Your apartment is just across the street, close enough if anything happens. If your relationship was different, youâd be living with her, of course. But the way things are now, she probably wouldâve strangled you to death alreadyâor vice versa. Itâs better this way.Â
Once youâre alone in the quiet of your room, you pull out a small shoe box from under the bed. You open it to reveal the gemstone, nestled in a makeshift padding. Carefully, you take it between your thumb and index finger, rolling it slowly. Itâs beautiful by all accounts, and you canât help but wonder how such a tiny object could cause so much trouble. Youâve turned the problem over in your mind all day, and yet you still donât know what the hell to do with it. Honestly, you donât even fully grasp the kind of power youâre holding. You imagine that if Hextech can power up portals, then surely this thing could be used for much more dangerous purposes. But technology was never your strong suit. All you know is that thereâs only two people in topside who know how to use Hextech safelyâand that is not exactly reassuring.
You glance out the window, barely able to make out anything through the thick green fog in the distance. There are plenty of things about this whole mess that are bothering you, and you intend to get some answers. A little visit to the Last Drop is in order.
Thanks for reading !
đ¸đ˛đ´ (2)
: ĚĚâđđđđ đđ đ đąđťđ°đ˛đş đđđđđđ đžđ˛
: ĚĚâđđđđđđđ˘: Tensions are still high between Raven and Armando but will a turn in events and some insight from Mike shake some things up for them.
: ĚĚâđ°đ˝: Hey friends!! First things first, thanks for all the love and support! Also, this one is kinda long / filler because I need things to start shaking and moving in part 3. ENJOY!
Armando and Raven found themselves staring daggers at each other just outside of Rita's office. They sat on opposite couches looking like mirrors of the other.
Arms crossed, posture tense, brows furrowed.
After hearing about the little mishap, Rita called in the head of Vice. Initially it was thought to be an argument bound to happen on the basis of professional courtesy and letting someone know about any investigations being held in case something like this were to happen; but, from the looks of it their conversation was rather calm.
The tension was coming from outside the office. "So, you're the guy who was on the run, huh? How'd you manage to get in here, I thought you were highly dangerous." She spoke the last statement with a taunting tone. "Still highly dangerous. You wanna test that? Be my guest." A smirk present on his face, which only caused Raven to rise right along with him.
"Yo, this is your last time threatening me, Rico Sauve." She held to fingers up pointing in the face of the male in front of her. "No, you're tough right, you wanted to test me so let's test it." Armando was not the type to hit a woman, but honestly something about Raven set a fire off inside of him. She reminded him way too much of someone, it was insufferable.
"Damn Mike, she act like you." Marcus laughed while the two older men approached the bickering pair. "Well hell, I mean they both act like you. You sure you didn't have another kid with a fairy in Never Never Land or something? I mean, you already got the witch."
No matter what, Marcus would not let go of reminding everyone that Mike got tangeled up with that evil ass witch.
Raven's head jerked back. She quickly glanced between the two of them. She'd known that Armando was a fugitive, but no one filled her in on the fact that he was Mike's son. "Well, that makes sense. He's a drug dealer and you dress like one." She began to laugh before she could fully finish the statement.
Marcus began to laugh at the younger woman's words as well. Extending his hand for a high five that she cheerfully returned. When he glanced at Mike seeing his blank expression, he began to cough as if he wasn't just having a good ole chuckle. "I'm not a drug dealer." Armando's voice this time was tamer but there was still an edge to it.
A short silence fell between the four of them before Rita and Mario, the head of vice exited the office. "Rae, you're going to be working with AMMO for a while."
"What?!" Both her and Armando shouted looking at the heads of their teams. "Mario, I'm not going with them-- I wanna stay on vice." "And you are still on Vice, Raven. Rita and I were talking, and it looks like we've been on to the same guy for a while now. He's got his hands in all types of shit that we've had mutual investigations into. So, you'll be working together instead of separately." Armando and Raven looked at each other before looking back at those in front of them.
"No." They spoke in stubborn unison.
Raven begrudgingly trudged up the path to the private plane they were boarding. Not only had she still been placed with AMMO but now they were on their way to Puerto Rico. From what they could put together, plus a few tips from a reliable source, they were certain their guy would be there, and he had something big coming.
Raven and Armando hadn't spoken to each other since their argument at the station. Ever since she'd call him a drug dealer, he'd been full blown ignoring her and quieter than normal. She kinda missed arguing with him.
"Hey, Raven." Mike tipped his head to her, motioning for he to sit beside him for the flight. This plane, or rather jet was big enough for everyone to have their own space, so why did he want her so close?
Nevertheless, she sat beside him. Soon, they were taking off.
"Hey, so uh. I know you and Armando aren't the best of friends, but can you not call him a drug dealer?" His voice was low while they spoke, by now everyone had fallen asleep. She also had a feeling that he was about to tell her something he didn't want anyone else to hear.
"I mean, he can be a little rough around the edges. But if we're being honest, hell.. So can you." He shifted in his seat, fully turning his attention to her. "He's trying, you know. He didn't have the best upbringing, got dealt a really shitty hand at life. I wasn't any help; his mother wasn't either. So, just cut 'em a little slack. I think if you two chilled out, you'd see you have more in common than not."
With that, Mike turned forward, laying his head back to rest his eyes. "Just think about it." And that's exactly what she did for the remainder of the flight, if Armando would be cool with her, she'd be cool with him.
This big guy sometimes doesn't have it easy
But everything seems to be fine but sometimes things can go unexplained and unnoticed
Marcus was having a hard time right trying to organise stuff for his son when he comes back from a very big trip but it seemed that he didn't know what to do
He loved his son really it just been a while maybe around 5 whole weeks without seeing his son because a very big event that came up from his son's team
You were at the garage place with Marcus as you were staying the night to meet Johnny once he gets back in the morning
You knew Marcus wanted something special for his son
It was cute to see him trying to think of something for his son
But you get how nervous he was after all that has happened
You knew he wanted to make his son feel loved
You were like a mother figure to Johnny as he always called you "Ma" sometimes when he never realises it
But you always smile and now he calls you that which makes you feel special
Now it was time to help Marcus calm down since it was already late at night
You walked over to the main area where Marcus was sitting down near the table as he back was turned on you
You smiled as you walked over to him
"Found anything yet?"
"Geez Love, You're gonna give me a heart attack one of these days"
"Sorry, Just wanted to check up on ya"
"I'm alright just trying to get Johnny something once he gets here in the morning"
"Well don't stay up too late" You then leaned down to kiss him a little kiss and walk away to the bedroom
You didn't realise that you made Marcus stay there for a quite a while
He was stunned!
Johnny
This poor guy was getting peered pressured by his choreographer
You didn't like his choreographer one bit so you wanted to check up on him after Nooshy spoke to you that you should check up on him in his hotel room
Now you were in front of his room as you knocked softly on the door
"Johnny? You in there hun?"
You then would hear a click which meant that the door was opening
You peaked your head in to see Johnny back on the bed looking miserable
You walked over to him as you sat next to him on the bed
He then leaned his head on your shoulder as he sighed
"You wanna talk about it?"
"That bloke absolutely hates me, I don't know what he's deal with me honestly"
He then began to rant
You listened to him until he finished
Once he did , you smiled at me
"Whenever you are feeling like this again please let me know and we can talk it out if you like?"
"Yeah, thanks love. I needed that"
You smiled again as you pecked his lips
"Anytime Hun"
Hey, I started reading Robin son of Batman because of your recommendation (I literally have a print of your post on my phone to not forget lol). Honestly? One of the best things I ever read!!!
Thank you for opening my eyes! Damian has been one of my favorite characters for over a year, but I didn't read/watch much of him because of school, life (and probably an executive dysfunction in the mix).
Maya is incredible. I loved her.
I haven't finished all the issues yet, but do you have any other recommendations?
WAH this makes me so happy, i'm glad you still gave it a shot even with how busy life is!! ;v;
iâd love to give reccs, and iâll try to go a beginner friendly route! tbh you can pick up whatever here, but since you've read R:SOB iâd immediately follow up with Batman and Robin (2011) #1-8! this first arc is whatâs referred to in Mayaâs introduction, and it's just. so good.
Main Books
Batman and Robin (2009)
Dick as Batman with Damian as his Robin!
#20-22 Tree of Blood: Dark Knight vs White Knight arc is done by Tomasi and Gleason, the team for the next Batman and Robin series
*Batman and Robin (2011)
Bruce and Damian figuring out their relationship as both Batman & Robin and father & son
imo you can enjoy the ride and read straight through this but iâll add context to avoid as much confusion as possible since thereâs the occasional tie-in or offscreen events, like Damianâs death nbd
Batman Incorporated (2012) #1-10
events leading to Damian's death - affects Batman and Robin (2011) from issue #18
kind of a tough read especially with how Talia's written, but a lot of iconic bits like Batcow, Damian's vegetarian declaration, Alfred the cat, "We Were the Best, Richard."
Robin (2021)
another self-discovery adventure, particularly after Alfredâs death and a fallout with Bruce (and questionable writing choices from his last Teen Titans run)
Batman and Robin (2023)
currently ongoing! after a number of events, Bruce and Damian are back as a duo
Damian Dynamics!
Batman: Streets of Gotham (2009) #7, 10-12
arc where Damian meets one of his first Gotham friends, Colin Wilkes
Batgirl (2009) #5-7, #17
Red Robin (2009) #13-14
early Tim and Damian dynamic that of course includes fighting haha. funny enough, accidentally my first intro to Damian LOL
Teen Titans (2003) #89-92
Dick!Batman has Damian join the Teen Titans. Start of Damian and Rose Wilson dynamic thatâs extended in Robin (2021)
Batman: Gates of Gotham (2011)
Damian meets Cass and has a brief team up
Gotham Academy (2015) #7
Damian meets Maps Mizoguchi! they have a few other meetings, but outside of that the series itself is a great read!
Robin War Event (2015)
Robin War (2015) #1, Grayson (2014) #15, Detective Comics (2011) #47, We Are Robin (2015) #7, Robin: Son of Batman (2015) #7, Robin War (2015) #2
Duke and Damian dynamic! not exactly beginner friendly but these are the main issues in order for the event! you can also read the TPB version for everything including Tie-Ins
Selina, Damian, and Cheese Viking - Damian's fav game shown in Nightwing: Rebirth (2016)
Superman/Batman (2003) #77
Kara and Damian in a Halloween team-up! also the appearance of "Li'l Matches" lol
DCU Halloween Special '09 "Cavity Search"
Damian out on a solo mission for Halloween night. Immediately after is Tim's Red Robin story "Then and Now: Our Father's Sins" which is more somber in contrast but also a good read!
*Batman and Robin (2011) reading guide
i'm mostly trying to avoid the "what did i just walk in on?" kinda feeling when i first started reading comics LOL i'll list the comics where events take place, but you don't necessarily have to read them to go through this book since things are usually explained as quickly as possible in the first page or so
now I'm even more curious on how angela's childhood went
Oh! Nothing much!
tw: kinda themes of eating disorders, bad parenting, and bullying, i`ll try not to talk to deeply abt it, and go soft /i hate these themes and can relate/ but yea, just in case
She...Just got unlucky with friends here, where her creativity wasnt really appreciated, especially on holidays ( i have a hc that Swap!Angela liked using all unconventional stuff she could find in her way of expressing herself, and that looked cool, but she was in the wrong place to show )^: ), yeah, girl got a very small group of friends, and even they arent that nice, her teachers treated her better smh- and after one b-day she got the nickname "Two bits". What a friendly nickname!
Bad parenting there(not physical tho), no one wants to have a daugher that didnt get only 2 points for perfect score on the test.. Of impolite and wont finish eating the dish your friends cooked, just cause "The way she cooks is gross, i think she sneezed on the fish".
...And her tutor said: "Why would you eat so much anyway, girl, you dont look like youll need the food for 2 years" , so the prev point kinda more complex. So girl kinda became a picky eater. We dont talk abt guilty midnight-snacking on "bad" food in childhood, girl was SO ashamed when her mom found out she ate some cheese
The tutor was fired after parents questioned Angela abt wrapping paper from some burger and pressured kid to tell `em abt it-
Thanks to the childhood Angela now have a weird qurk where she NEEDS to know the price of your gift in events, so bring the receipt too(unless its from da family. Marcus is a perfectionist and very picky, Ant is always asks before gifting, so she knows in advance, and Hazel is a small bean & all her presents at that age are important)
#She wants to make sure that you didn`t buy something random like a HomeClub plate at the checkout#and actually thought at least to look more than 2 minutes in local Target before getting here#even if you`ll think she likes it.... Angela will but she`ll be ashamed that she likes something with âbadâ quality#swap au#fop a new wish#fairly oddparents#fairly oddparents a new wish#fop fanart#fairly odd parents a new wish#the fairly oddparents#a new wish#hazel wells#angela wells fanart#fairly odd parents#fop hazel#Hazel Antoinette Wells#fop art#fopanw#the fairy oddparents#fairlyoddparents#the fairly oddparents: a new wish#fop anw#angela wells#angela fop#angela fairly odd parents#angela fairly oddparents#hazel wells fanart#hazel antoinette wells#fop hazel wells#fairly oddparents fanart
Hiii love this blog and love Vi xx just wondering what your thoughts are on Vi and survivorâs guilt? Girl always wants to pin the blame on herself for everyone getting hurt :( my poor girl
thank you and yessss i'd love to talk about it !
so much, if not all, of vi's motivation throughout the show is from her survivor's guilt and the general responsibility she feels towards the people she loves. her guilt constantly effects her throughout the show and i think itâs best for me to delve into how badly it does by going through the events of the two seasons with my interpretation of how vi processed them.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
in the first act of season one vi is constantly doing everything for her family because of the future she wants them to have and of the fear she has of losing them. and in an instant, all of it is ripped away from her with the death of mylo, claggor, and vander while she is able to do nothing but witness it unfold. immediately, her sense of purpose and self-worth is gone and the weight of what she could have done differently is thrown onto her shoulders with the only possible sense of relief knowing that powder is alive is taken from her when she is kidnapped by marcus and thrown into prison... now as a child being forced to defend herself in a place full of people who want nothing but cause her harm, vi does the only thing she can do to survive and that is to fight for the chance of seeing powder again.
years later and finally out of prison, vi enters back into the place she used to call home and is faced with the pain of seeing everything turn to ruin from the introduction of shimmer. people she used to recognize are now addicts searching for their next meal, the last drop is no longer a place for community, but a place for gambling and fighting, and powder isnât powder, but jinx who is seen as the daughter of the man who let it all happen. now, vi not only faces the guilt of surviving the death of her family, but is dealing with the guilt of not being present to help her people, and more specifically powder who is struggling with her own challenges since the night that changed everything.
jumping to the end of season one, jinx has vi tied to a table with silco and is put in another situation again where she can do nothing but plead and atone for her guilt as a final attempt to get her sister back. not realizing the extent her pleading has on jinxâs trauma, her chance to reunite with her sister is gone as jinx fully embraces her identify and finishes what she started with silco: using her weapon to destroy the council. not only does this cost lives, but one of them is the mother of the girl vi has started to fall in the love with, the girl who was the first to show her kindness after years of abuse, the girl who listened to her problems and wanted to help solve them. now vi sits with the guilt of the death of her family, the destruction of her home, the âlossâ of her sister, and the murder of caitâs mother.
itâs no wonder that it takes little to convince vi to join the enforcers to stop jinx. her trauma of what theyâve done to her family and her people means little to her now than it does to help cait because at this point itâs all she has left to fight for. as far as her motivations go thereâs no reason for her to do something for herself because vi doesnât feel deserving of it and in her mind all sheâs done is cause destruction and this will be another opportunity for her to finally put a stop to it, hopefully turning into something good⌠but it doesnât. face to face with jinx after fighting her, after wearing an enforcerâs badge, after gassing her city, after arresting people who are victims of the system they were raised in, vi still canât go through with stopping her. both ends of her guilt are eating her alive. does she fight for the girl she loves or does she fight to still try to salvage any reminisce of the family she used to have? in the end she gets neither. jinx gets away again because of her hesitation and cait leaves. now she truly has nothing to fight for. so what else is there to do to cope other than do what vi does best: fight to numb the pain and when she canât fight, drink to numb it even further.
months go by and vi has truly hit rock bottom when out of nowhere jinx shows up requesting her help with finding vander. the very idea of vander still being alive is ridiculous to her because there is no reason for him to be but what reason does she have to say no? now thereâs a spark of motivation again for vi. although itâs riddled with disbelief, itâs enough to get her to step away from the fighting and drinking for a little bit to see if this spark can be fully ignited again. lo and behold jinx is right and vander is alive, different, but alive. not only does vi have vander back, but jinx is right by her side along with another new sister and thereâs a chance that things can be good again. using blind faith from the rumors of a healer in the undercity, the girls take vander to viktor in the hopes that he can be cured from the agony heâs in. not only do things seem to be going in the right direction for them, but thereâs community, thereâs a sense of safety, and thereâs hope that maybe vi can have a version of her life back that she lost at such a young age. itâs a chance for her to right all the wrongs she feels sheâs done, that guilt doesnât have to be the only thing that forces her to get up every morning. but just like everything else thatâs happened in viâs life, that opportunity is ripped from her again. isha and vander are killed and vi gets injured, preventing her from any possibility of stopping enforcers from taking jinx.
when vi wakes up sheâs angry. how couldnât she be? time after time, no matter the circumstances, she loses her family again and again. caitlyn is back in her life but things werenât how they used to be and thereâs still jinx to worry about. sheâs needs to help her, itâs what she was raised to do. vi steals the keys from the guards and comes up with an idea for jinx to work with piltover, a way for her two worlds to coexist. her final attempt to have something good⌠but after releasing jinx from her cell, sheâs telling vi that she doesnât want it and leaves vi behind. all vi can do it wait. wait for the chance that jinx may change her mind and come back. wait for anyone to show up and decide what to do with her. wait and think about how she chooses wrong every time and has lost everything because of it. then cait is there and vi is ready to hear her say âi told you soâ, that she screws up everything she tries to do and should just give up. instead, caitâs telling vi that she wanted her to be able to go to jinx, that no matter the outcome she wouldâve been okay even if it meant losing vi. it means a lot to vi that cait picked her over the revenge cait so desperately wanted with jinx, the shock of it all is too much for her to withhold and she has to let cait know how much it means to her by kissing her. for once thereâs no time for vi to stop and let her mind attack her with statements of guilt and shame. for once sheâs going to let herself be selfish and be with the girl she fell in love with.
the anticipated battle against the noxians and viktor begins and vi is ready to fight. things are good with cait but she canât say the same for jinx. there isnât a lot of time to think about it though because the people sheâs fighting with are being killed left and right. every time a person from the under city is revealed to be one of those lost is another reason for her to keep going; their sacrifices need to be worth something and their stories deserve to be told. nothing could prepare her though when suddenly she sees vander again, even more different than the last time she saw him, like any remaining parts of the person he used to be is gone. vi doesnât know what to do but stare in horror at the man she called dad as he approaches her, ready for a fight. thankfully, just as quickly as vander shows, jinx and ekko arrive to pull vi out of her state of shock. thereâs relief and hope, not a lot, but enough to get her moving and back into the fight. now sheâs not only fighting to help save people, but to save her family.
standing back to back with jinx as she tells vi sheâll always be with her, vi canât help but almost smile at the thought. maybe things will be ok for the two of them. maybe theyâll be able to walk away from the battle and even if not sticking together, maybe they can use it as a way to fix what was broken between them while they work on fixing whatâs broken in themselves. jumping forward through several fight scenes, vi finds herself stuck on a ledge with an unconscious âvanderâ. even with the opportunity to leave and hearing jinx call her name, vi canât help but tune everything out as she feels herself resort back to the same young girl cradling vanderâs head as died outside the abbandoned factory so many years ago. âprotect powderâ echos in her mind and she starts to cry thinking about everything and everyone sheâs lost. all of her guilt is back and she canât even think to fight back when âvanderâ awakes and continues his attack; the most she can do is pull herself away and hope that however she goes is quicker and less painful than the beatings she used to get in stillwater, itâs the least she deserves. suddenly thereâs a flash and viâs body flies into autopilot as she finds herself hanging over the ledge and holding onto jinxâs arm as âvanderâ tightens his grip around jinxâs waist. she doesnât know what to do but letting go isnât an option. sheâs not losing jinx again, she just got her back. viâs heart stops when she sees jinx have a look of relief wash over her face and say sheâll always be with her; she knows what jinx is about to do and thereâs nothing she can do to stop her as jinx removes the hex stone from viâs gauntlet, releasing its grip. all of viâs surroundings fade to black as she lies there watching everything unfold: her sister and her father falling to their deaths. vi can barely hear her own screaming over the ringing in her ears and she struggles to catch her breath while she chokes on every gasp of air she can get through her cries. she canât recall how long she stayed there or how she left.
staring into the fire in caitâs office with a drink in her hand, itâs hard to not let viâs mind wander with guilt. although not being able to fully remove her old coping mechanisms from her system, sheâs been trying new ones to help, learning ways to take her guilt and focus on the good memories of them all. humming the song viâs mom used to sing when she was little has been the most effective, she feels like it calms her the same now as it did back then. caitâs support has been helpful for vi too and after dealing with loss on both of their ends, the two of them have been able to get each other back on their feet and ready to continue the fight for a good cause.
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
ngl i did not anticipate myself to answer the ask this way but once i got started it was difficult to stop đ i really tried to use scenes we got for my interpretation rather than assume what happened between them because if the writers wanted us to see it then we wouldâve seen it :/ iâm also not going to be talking too much more about this within this post but trying to write about viâs arc in episodes 8 and 9 was hard for me cause thereâs just too much that happened that felt weird?? idk if ooc is the best way to describe it?? maybe logical is the word iâm looking for lol and thatâs all iâm gonna say for that
#ask#arcane#arcane spoilers#arcane season 2#can we get 2 people to read this?? thatâs my goal lmao
Can I have some romance in a greenhouse with grayson. I want a reader at an event who has social anxiety just doing her best and escapes to look at plants and grayson looks for them and they dance a lil and stuff
OMGOMGOMGOMGKGM IM FUCKINH IN LOVE STOP IM DOING THIS RN WTFFFF
Fem!Reader x Grayson
Tonight was the night.
You were invited to a red carpet event to celebrate Progress Day. Definitely wasnât your cup of tea at all, youâd rather be at home reading or finishing a project you had. But you had intel.. Grayson was going to be guarding the event along with other enforcers.
You had spoken to her a few times but it was never anything more than a simple âhelloâ, âhow are youâ, âIâm fineâ, âthatâs goodâ. She had this aura that was so inviting. You stared into the mirror fixing a few stray strands of hair before taking a deep breath and stepping out into the ballroom filled with sophisticated people.
As your eyes lock with stranger after stranger, you give them a small smile, making your way to the food table. You grab a few grapes and place them onto a small golden plate, trying your absolute best not to draw attention to yourself. You keep your eyes on the ground until you hear a voice next to you.
You look up to see a tall man standing over you with a grim smirk on his face. âHey beautiful. You here alone tonight?â You chuckle softly as your grip tightens on your plate. âOh what you donât wanna tell me?â He takes a step closer, moving a strand of hair from your face. âI- uh-â The stranger laughs wrapping his arm around your waist, not understanding a single boundary. You gasp and kick him in the shin causing him to grimace in agony.
Without looking back you make a B-line straight for the balcony. Seeing that itâs full of people you turn around trying to find another exit, then you spotted it. Large glass doors at the back of the party. With a soft grunt, you push the heavy door open, noticing a green house in the distance.
~~
Grayson had been at the event for hours. Guarding the door, patrolling the perimeter of the building, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious. After swapping places with Marcus again, Grayson makes her way into the ballroom, her eyes looking out for a specific person. She sighs as she realizes you werenât there.
She makes her way around the party, standing out in her uniform. As she turns to make her way back outside, she sees someone familiar open the back exit door towards the garden. âY/n..?â She mutters to herself before following behind you.
Grayson watched as you open the doors to the greenhouse and decides to join you. She admires you from afar at first as you softly touch the flowers there. âBeautiful, arenât they?â You softly gasp and place your hand on your chest, locking eyes with the woman that you can never stop thinking about. You feel a since of relief seeing her soft smile.
Grayson chuckles as she takes a few steps closer. âI didnât mean to startle you. Why arenât you inside with everyone else?â You shake your head. âI didnât even last 5 minutes. And there was this guy..â You groan in disgust while Grayson face gets more serious and her stance more firm. âDid he disturb you?â She looks at you with concern. âIf you can identify him you know we can-â
âNo itâs fine.â You interrupted. âI just want to move on with my night. Howâs yours going?â Grayson stance softens as she lets out a low sigh. âAs boring as ever. Until now.â Her smile comes back as she locks eyes with you. âYou know, we can still hear the music.â Taking a step back, Grayson bows and offers her hand to you. You chuckle softly and do the same, bowing to the woman you always admired from afar, before taking her hand.
As she pulls you close, you can feel your heartbeat accelerating. Grayson lets out a low hum as she rocks side to side, one hand on your lower back, the other intertwined with yours. âFeels nice to slow down for once, hm?â You smile, not wanting this moment to ever end, not even for a second. âFeels amazing.â You whisper as you lay your head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat.
Weekly Update - February 2, 2025
Interesting update at the start of this month. Iâve put up a lot of work for some rewrites to improve the earlier chapters, since Iâve recently been a bit disappointed in our MCs backstory.
So now, we got around 3k words of bullying from Isaac and Vivian, before the Tragedy, along with some extra flavor text. We also get to hear the big fight between mom and dad in Chapter 1 before the divorce, which should help some of you want to get revenge on him too. Iâve also made a change to the dads. They are now 7, not 9. I know, not a huge difference, but enough to make them more useful to the actual plot.
Now, for Chapter 2 Iâve changed momâs speech a bit, since the events of the night of the divorce are a bit different now. We also get to change our first name, even though itâs the nth most popular name in Canada. Thereâs a stat to keep track of your revenge filled emotions for 1st dad, since heâs now a bigger target.
And hereâs the bigger addition: a housekeeper/maid/butler! We now have a new character, Wren, a housekeeper assigned by mom to spy on MC that will also help with some of the gruntwork outside of school that isnât completed by Angela, Marcus, or Burt. Weâll get to choose their gender and have mechanics where they will give info to mom while also helping you out if you gain their trust.
For Chapter 3 Iâve mainly just made MC to be the actual mastermind here, instead of a mess that they were here. Most of the meetings are planned by MC. Michael and gang bump into you at the entrance? All a plan! But of course, Wren was tailing them to school, reporting when you should get out from your car and face them. Talking to Connor in the hallway? All part of the plan! You pretended to be clueless to attract his attention. Cecily talks to you in homeroom? Pfah, you already knew she was in the same homeroom with you, the talk was inevitable!
Iâve also started writing the subtle revenge plans for homecoming in Chapter 4. For Dylan Iâm thinking of putting in action the little statue weâve kept from Chapter 1, if we really want to be obvious with our homecoming and you actually kept it.
Anyway, big week this week, and it will only continue this way.
Just a reminder cause I get asked this a lot, these updates are for the Patreon demo and for what Iâve actually written down. The public update will get new content once I finish Chapter 4 and Iâm sure it work properly!
