When StarClan makes a ruling, they aren't neccesarily deciding if you are Guilty or Innocent. They're determining if you are worthy of their ranks. You have to prove you belong in Heaven, NOT that you're not bad enough for Hell.

For most warriors this is a very simple yes, and no trial is required... but if you so much as OFFEND StarClan with your bad vibes, they might damn you just for that. Whitewater has a really bad reputation for everything she's done.

The Queen’s Rights actually work "legally" on the assumption that judgement is outsourced to StarClan, because mortals (Oakstar) can't be trusted to be impartial on this specifically. The birth of kittens cannot be used as evidence of codebreaking behavior... on the mortal plane.

StarClan was ALREADY going to give her a review just based on her affair with Mudclaw. If it ended on the Great Journey like they initially planned and she invoked QR with her Ba-less litter, there wouldn't even be a trial.

But that's not how this story goes. She was a ShadowClan cat involved in Mudclaw's rebellion, because she wanted to support him.

SHE might have only done that because she wanted to avoid ThunderClan "putting their paws in another Clan's business" or some other excuse, but StarClan says

"L + Ratio + Supported your baby daddy's coup + Set the peat on fire + What were YOU doing putting your paws in another Clan's business"

StarClan didn't even accept MUDCLAW'S explaination. They didn't even accept VIXENLEAP'S excuse, just some Thistle Law-loving RiverClan warrior who joined because Hawkyfrosty asked her to. They were always going to give Whitewater a hard time for this.

Whitewater might have been able to wrack up some goodgirl points by being a very loyal ShadowClan warrior..... and she did, a little.

But she kept her head down. No spectacular feats of redemption. Just tried to live quiet. That doesn't incur a lot of favor.

And then, the part you've been waiting for... how she treated Owlkit. Theyyyy didn't like that.

If she was sooo unattached to her mate, why did his smiting BOTHER her so much, hm?

She might have won favor for doing something very noble and giving the kittens to the bereaved Torear, but she KEPT Owlkit. Any love she had that influenced that choice drained away

and she didn't do the "right thing" for him by asking for help. She just did the bare minimum at best, and hid her abuse at worst.

Unfortunately though, the neglect and emotional abuse did not earn as much ire on their own as you're hoping. StarClan is (and was) full of much worse abusers. Hillrunner, for example.

Most of StarClan's condemnation would be based around Mudclaw's Rebellion... but they've been waiting a LONG time to process the surviving non-WindClan rebels. So... she's probably doomed.

Unfortunately I cannot imagine she takes it well. She completely ignores that Owlclaw was just a footnote in her condemnation, and uses it to confirm everything she ever believed.

"That kitten WAS meant to die that night. I should have dragged that child out into the storm with the rest of its cursed siblings. I've been shoved into the spot where Owlclaw should be!"

Hmm... maybe I should axe her shortly before the Great Battle, and actually have HER be the one who attacks Owlclaw's kittens. It would be pretty horrifying if she was the one who killed Weaselkit, her own grandchild.

The person I was mocking was someone who had never expressed a feeling of having been misgendered by me, I was mocking her for they/themming me to hide that the person she was talking about having coined the word "transradfem" was herself a trans woman. Mordred deceptively took that out of context to make it look like I was talking about it, although it doesn't even do a good job of making it look like that since even in the screenshot you can clearly see me using they exclusively in sentences that quote someone else.

If you search our blogs, you will find a lot of ittalking about me without me having mentioned it, and none of the reverse. Not a single post, in spite of it's claims I can't shut up about it. The closest you will get is an anon saying they found my blog through it and thinking I was chill, to which my commentary was "correct" and nothing more. So "aggressor" - sure. I will nonetheless acknowledge that in spite of it's obvious lies and manipulation, it probably did just forget to update it's pinned until it deciding to paint me as having misgendered it gave it a reminder. Halloween Costumes

Who else had got they Halloween costume ready because I've got two and my family thinks I'm weird? :'D Ones an Agatha sort of thing (my friends doing tedros) and then a witchy vibe swishy skirt thingy(I found a really swooshy skirt and couldn't not use it) but I just love Halloween it's the best holiday (after Christmas but my last one was a tad bit shit bc my grandma died in the morning :'D). I must applaud you for your analysis on Datusha. No one else is as dedicated as you when it comes to Nitara/Datusha/Ashrah and honestly, the whole "Datusha is (like) the Sun" thing ? Brilliant. (pun kind of intended). Although I also had a good laugh because I headcanon Argus as the Sun God, so I was like "damn, the bastard strikes again".

I tend to take Ashrah's words when she says these celestial beings she met are angels, because I'm a sucker for demons/angels narratives. But yeah, sun = sky = celestial = angel so it makes sense. If demons exist in the MK universe, I can only assume angels do too and it'd make sense for them to want to purify everything and go as far as to wipe out species they think are vile and corrupted. Vampires among them. It would be interesting if Ashrah's quest to purify herself came back to bite her in the ass, as you said with your Icarus parallel, with said "angels" deeming Ashrah will never be pure because she's a demon and therefore must be exterminated too.

I'm curious about MK1 Datusha being crafted by the Kafallah Warlocks, but the blade ultimately doesn't have any lore in MK1 beyond "magic sword" and it sucks.

So yeah, kudos, kudos, kudos for your work.

AHHHHH i’m happy that you like my datusha and nitara/ashrah deep dives!!! the scraps of lore we have on them have such a hold on me. like genuinly datusha is another character to me rather than just a sword because honestly it isn’t just a sword it’s a vampire in itself by having so much bloodlust and having such a clever “mind” to trick its wielders into turning against their own beliefs and their whole purpose

i think they were angels TO ashrah, but not actually angels. with any being that’s the opposite of darkness, i think ashrah would immediately feel drawn to so why would she question the literal beings of light. they are everything that she wants to be, and she will ignore the heinous crimes they are commanding her to make (which are essentially guaranteeing her a one way ticket back to the netherrealm some day. but once again, how could the light lie to her?). but yeah, in a way, datusha is an angel. after all datusha makes the wielder believe they are killing for a higher purpose and angels are typically the messengers of “higher purpose.”

i think ashrah’s quest to purify herself already has bit herself in the ass the moment she started killing the vampires! she just needs to break free of datusha’s manipulation for the immense and terrible weight of what she did to sink in, because i knowwww she would be devastated to find out what she did. and her relationship with datusha is kind of similar to her relationship with quan chi because once again, she’s following the orders of a terrible “master”, and doing terrible things.

also considering ashrah in mk12 has angel wings as seen in her fatalities, i would think that would also imply the existence of angels.

regarding the kafallah warlocks it sucks so bad that we literally do not know what that means like who are theyyyy BUT there was a war called the kafallah war which still doesn’t really tell us much but maybe it was forged during that time cause i’d assume they’d be forging a lot of weapons during a time of war. it was a war during which reiko was a boy, so the sword is possibly 10k + years old? but still it’s so little to base anything on so oh well. we’ll just suffer with no datusha lore

taliiii my dear girl. she grew up on the station with just her mother and older brother (i think her dad walked out idgaf) and she was this little starfleet fanatic. wanted to get into the academy and become an officer, had all these posters, etcl. she wanted sooo badly to get off the station and prove to everyone that she could do it, because as a kid she hated seeing all these people resigned to their shitty jobs. her brother was a solar skipper and farily happy with his job. he took a rotation on the renaissance, a brand new ship, the ship disappeared, you know the rest. talii was 16/17 at this time and had just gotten her offer to starfleet academy. and she was obviously devastated but represses this bad and ends up going off to school anyway. has a total breakdown, makes no friends, spends all her time in her room, and fails out after her first semester and comes back home. everyones like omg!!! our talii is living her dream!! we cant believe you made it !!! and shes like loll yeah its so awesome!!! i flunked out. haha. she switched out of command (HER LIFELONG DREAM) and decided to work in ops/navigation as a skipper instead, fully resigned to the fact that she failed and will never amount to anything. girl has had like low-grade depression for years but never acknowledges it.

the homely ghost is a pretty well known and respectable ship, and the only way talii got to work on it was by lightly manipulating faduhl. she's like heyyyy your son died on the renaissance no way my brother did too!!!! (side note faduhls son, aubrey, and taliis brother were very good friends). and everyone on the ghost hates her because she's lazy and apathetic and never puts any actual work in. and she uses this as a little pity party like ohhhh my life is so hard no one likes me :'( even though she's choosing to be a petty mean bitch and act hostile to everyone.

she also hatessss jonathan SHE HATES HIM!!! she was the young inexperienced junior officer and everyone hated HER and then he walks on (young inexperienced junior officer) and everyone likes him and thinks he's nice. girl has 0 self reflection skills. alsoooo sidenote sidenote the talii/jonathan paralells they both grew up on the station and lost a family member to the job but jonathan represses this and is energetic and eager and this bright young officer whereas talii has accepted it and become resigned and apathetic to how much her life sucks.

torwardss the end in season 3 she does get some self reflection skills after chyell leaves and she starts becoming besties with jonathan. THEYYYY DO BECOME BESTIES... their relationship (slightly older junior officer/ unoffical mentee slash bestie) parallels her brothers relationship with aubrey. since jonathan is alwaysss living in his shadow being compared to that bitch).

oh also her mom very fanatically thinks her older brother is alive out there and waiting to come home (his death really just broke her) and talii retaliates by believing he's stone cold dead and refusing to even say he's "missing". she has crazy mommy issues. in a draft (HAVENT DECIDED IF ILL KEEP IT BUT ITS FUNNY AS HELL) she has another older brother who's off in another system basically this like 30 year old stoner that she has like nooo contact with. and he shows up one day and she's like ugh this is my stupid brother. and everyone like. YOUR BROTHER??? and she's like ughhhh no the other one. the lame one. which makes it so funny that she was obsessed with getting off the station WHEN SHE HAD A DIRECT FAMILY MEMBER WHO DID. SHE JUST NEVER MENTIONS HIM.

she sucks. so much <3 she's always going around bringing up her dead brother and traumadumping and everyones like CAN YOU NOT!!! she's a chainsmoker she's would be a tiktok girlie if she lived in 2023. she's mean and rude to everyone then acts like the victim when everyone acts mean to her. she's probably nonbinary but too busy with her job to deal with that. her and chyell are roommates and have the worst most toxic yuri in the history of star trek. she did really love chyell and when they left with no warning it absolutely broke her. because of her brother and then chyell and then max leaving her with no goodbye she has the worst separation issues everrr. if she read warrior cats she'd kin needletail. she's actually very smart (she got into the academy early) but refuses to apply herself or take anything seriously. she tries to flirt with alekis sister. talii ^ i hate her she's my favorite everrr

kind of a timeline w/ a lot of rambling discussion of moments i like. i'm sure i left out a bunch of things because this is a NINE YEAR long feud + some more nxt stuff on top of that. if anyone has corrections/ further input please say so.

NXT (2013-2015)

this era is COMPLICATED: the 4HW's alliances changed constantly, and i don't have a great handle on it. there a couple of moments i think are relevant for both of them, though.

charlotte debuted as a perky pink volleyball player, which is farrr from what The Queen gimmick is today. (fun fact, she debuted in a match against Bayley!) there are 2 bits that i feel like crystallized her character. 1) being the first person to turn on bayley 2) beating natalya in a harts v flairs match to crown the first NXT women's champion. that's about when she started using a remix of thus spake zarathustra, ric flair's theme. these moments are important to Me because they show that charlotte's a cutthroat nepo baby, but she's also a very emotional/sensitive person. she cries and thanks nattie after the match, and it's very sweet.

her most important feud from NXT is against Sasha. it continued onto the main roster. these two specifically were presented as the very top of the division, only matched by each other. charlotte's nepo baby status is very relevant to all of this.

becky debuted w/ the irish jig gimmick, which SHE does not want to remember, so we'll move past it! she kind of floundered until she stumbled into a steampunk rocker gimmick. an important match is one she had against sasha even though she panicked about screwing something up, the audience got majorly behind her. she's just always had this natural connection to the audience that's hard to define and analyze. babyface magic idk

Main Roster Call Up (2015)

Sasha, Becky, and Charlotte got called up in mid 2015 (bayley got left behind in NXT because otherwise, the women's division there would just not exist). Becky and Charlotte aligned with Paige to form the creatively named team PCB. I honestly don't find most PCB stuff very interesting. The moment where they debut is great. Paige gets really, uncomfortably mean before she eventually turns on charlotte and becky. it's a moment i think probably shouldn't have happened but i'm happy to include in my charlynch canon lol. i've fudged the timeline on this a bit, don't mind me

actually, there are a million cute charlynch backstage promos from 2015 (this is a bad example). becky is bright-eyed and punny, and charlotte begrudgingly loves it. the fact that they were real life best friends seeps through all of it. their best friendship is also so, so real. they rode together everywhere, shared hotel rooms, took a million cute selfies that are all over the internet. there's a very cute wwe ride with me episode with them.

Post Paige (2015)

charlotte gets the diva's championship and soundly defeats paige in their feud. as always happens in wrestling, her ego starts getting the best of her. the charlynch backstage promos get uncomfortable. ric flair starts showing up everywhere, and he drives a wedge between the two of them. like he would in real life a few years later! i hate ric flair. eventually, becky wins a match against charlotte, and instead of supporting her friend, she turns on becky. theyyyy. honestly did not have much a feud after this. they had a smackdown match + a royal rumble one and That's It

becky and sasha had a number one contenders match, which charlotte interrupted so she could have a facedown with Just Sasha. there are photos of becky crying next to the ring because honestly, such a dick move from the writers.

she eventually got written into the WM 32 match, and it became a triple threat.

for some reason, charlotte won that triple threat! and that's when the charlotte-hatred from the fandom really starts. the perception from the audience is that she gets stuff just because she's ric flair's daughter. i... agree, like she's a 14 time women's world champion and no one's even CLOSE to that record for a reason. however, i will go to the grave saying that charlotte is a very good wrestler.

in becky's book, she describes a moment where she and charlotte promised to never let the business get in the way of their real friendship which 🥹 i'm going to fumking cry. they did NOT succeed lmfao

Post WM 32 (2016-2018)

they both go off to do their own thing, mainly. charlotte feuds with sasha, becky becomes the inaugural smackdown champion and gets given a garbage reign. becky is consistently shunted off to the side by the writers, and the audience picks up on it. she becomes a fan favorite underdog, while the criticism against charlotte grows. especially when she's the person who ends asuka's undefeated streak at wm 34

Their proper feud!!!!! (2018)

at some point, they become friends again. i don't think it's. really explained lmao. becky has a match at summerslam against carmella for the world title. to becky's chagrin, charlotte enters that match, and she wins it. after the match, becky turns heel on her, only, she doesn't really because the POP she gets???? insane. generational moment from a generational babyface.

the writers cannot get the audience to boo her despite their best efforts, so they're forced to write them both as tweeners. they build off of the real life frustration with charlotte's neverending push. Becky tells Charlotte she's gotten everything handed to her, etc etc. they have some really good matches together, my favorite of which is the last woman standing match at Evolution 2018. their promos in this time period are all FIRE, and you should check them out. becky is an incredible mic worker.

The Man

in the build to survivor series, nia jax famously shoot-punches becky in the face and breaks her nose. Becky gets covered in her own blood and just fuckin grins into the audience, and that's a crystallizing moment for her. the audience loves her, and she's an awesome fuckin badass. the man is a much more serious character than her previous character, and i will always mourn her puns. The Man forever changed Becky's career and made her the most successful/famous female wrestler Ever.

A big part of the Man's character was being deeply snarky on twitter. this unfortunately included a lot of body-shaming Charlotte in now-deleted tweets. both of these women have very fraught relationships with their bodies. of course, wrestling's primarily male audience ate that shit up, as they always do. their friendship fell apart in real life, and becky cites that as one of Many reasons. real life rebecca quinn is a complicated person, and she's very candid about that in her memoir.

Oh god, the build to Wrestlemania 35

the writers originally wanted to build to charlotte v ronda at wrestlemania, but becky's momentum was sooo undeniable at this point. a lot of convoluted bullshit happened. it started as becky v ronda, then she started feuding with the authority, then she randomly became friends with charlotte again (a story decision neither of them liked), then she got kayfabe injured, then charlotte replaced her in the match, then she ??? idk fanagled her way back into the match. it's a triple threat now. no one is happy that charlotte is here. if i've fudged the timeline here it doesn't matter because honestly the WRITERS did too

for some reason wm 35 is 7 hours long, but at the end becky wins in the motherfucking main event of wrestlemania. fuck yeah. ronda did botch the ending, but what can you do.

2019-2021

they feud a little bit because becky pinned ronda to get charlotte's title, then they move on from that. Becky's run continues until she gets pregnant in june 2020 and vacates the raw title. charlotte does a lot of very cool NXT matches. Becky returns and takes the title of Bianca in about 7 seconds flat, which no one (including becky) is happy about lol!! she comes back as a heel, now with the gimmick "big time becks." big time becks is my absolute favorite character from her. it's during this time that you can really tell she and seth have the same stylist. at some point, ric flair tries to sue becky. it's complicated and stupid.

there's a deeply bad and uncomfortable storyline from 2021, where ric starts flirting with lacey evans. charlotte has an uncomfortably real argument with him backstage, and it's honestly. God, even though the storyline is Conceptually Rotten and they should not have done it, it's an interesting kayfabe way for charlotte to reckon with Ric flair's real life crimes. Charlotte's acting in that segment is Way Too Good. i have a lot of feelings about her relationship with ric, but. whatever!!!

oh, there's also this cute moment from 2020. they're cute.

we're back (oh god, we are NOT back)

in november 2021, both of them hold a world title, but for the opposite brand. therefore, WWE has them do a dumb, convoluted title switch. during this, charlotte drops her title on the ground in an unscripted moment. it's deeply awkward, and both becky and sonya (the gm organizing this moment) become visibly frustrated with her. like, the implication is that she wanted becky to get on the ground and pick it up in a humiliating moment. they had a backstage altercation, and now they real life hate each other. charlynch is fucking DEAD

wwe did a very good video package about this. it includes my favorite ever becky promo, where she tells charlotte she's going to beat the living piss out of her. i can't find the actual promo because youtube search is useless, but! yeah.

but at least this results in my favorite match they've ever had!!! survivor series 2021 is a deeply emotional match. after winning, becky gives this really sad backstage interview, where she cries and talks about their friendship falling apart. it's a promo that makes ME cry tbh.

2021-2023

nothing charlynch related really happens lmfao. they do not fuck with each other anymore. at least, nothing happens in kayfabe. becky turns face again, returning to The Man character. (her feud with bianca is so fucking good!!!!) Charlotte also ends up as a face by the end of 2023, which is where things happen again.

Survivor Series 2023

charlotte asks becky to join her team for survivor series. they do the can I trust you rigamarole, and i'm so invested in it. they have a moment where they pinky promise, like they did way back in those old PCB 2015 promos. charlotte's bright-eyed delight at being forgiven vs becky's sober mistrust. god.

and they win at survivor series, and they hug, and it's sooo fucking awesome seeing this 9 Real year old friendship rekindle through forgiveness and communication. i'm emotional about it.

at the post SS media scrum, they talk about their relationship, and describe it as "we're dating again" because they hate me specifically. they're so fucking cute i cannot handle them

wow, what happens next???

charlotte explodes her knee and gets put on the shelf for 9 months, and she's still out now. :(. she actually has the exact injury seth got in 2015 lol. also, becky is currently out on hiatus, so who knows when they'll interact next. at least we ended on a good note

YEEESSS!!! i have many a thought

okay so for belle, i think she probably had her first taste of beer at the pub when she was like. nine or ten lmao. and that’s not bad parenting on maurice’s part!!! it’s the 18th century!!!! he didn’t let her have a full pint on her own until she was more like 15, i think. but she definitely liked sneaking sips from his drinks when she was younger lol. same deal with wine too, though it was just more common for maurice to have beer, since he’d grab a pint with père robert semi regularly, and belle, as usual, would often want to join in on the fun. (and maurice would never leave her at home if she wanted to join, he wanted her to socialize and converse as much as she could!) anyway, so belle “grew up” pretty used to beer and wine. and she loves bitter flavors so the dryer the better, in her opinion.

this is then very funny when she ends up with adam, who not only has had a way wider pallet of alcohol, but also IS a sweet tooth and definitely prefers the sweeter wines, as well as fun cocktails. and don’t get me wrong, he’s downed plenty of bourbon and other strongly flavored STUFF, but for casual drinking he’d prefer a cocktail. in modern au i feel like he’d go for a cosmopolitan or something in that realm. belle usually gets a beer or a moscow mule, if i had to guess.

but anyway circling back to canon adam. he’s, of course, had far too much experience with alcohol! first time he got drunk he was like. 13. that’s when university started though!! everyone was doing it and he wanted to fit in and be cool :(( but anyway yeah that guy has tried everything - EVERYTHING - under the sun. and been drunk way more than anyone so young should have been. i like to think that when agathe resurrects him, she also gives him a brand new liver because babygirl i can’t imagine it was doing very well 😭 (i think she just gives him a whole new body. tip-top shape!! because i… don’t think he would’ve lasted very long in his current state. his father died at 47 and i wonder if adam would have even made it that far. BUT ANYWAY!!!!!)

i do often debate what his stance on drinking ends up being, later on when he’s a husband and especially as a father. i don’t think he quits cold turkey or anything, (it’s the 18th century french court. come on now.) but i do think he gets really on top of it. his main concern is that he never wants his children to see him even a little intoxicated. because, as you can imagine, that was how he often saw his father. and it’s not that he think he’d harm his kiddos if he was drunk, but he just doesn’t want them to experience that. and he also doesn’t trust himself or fully know what he’d do, so he just doesn’t wanna take any risks. he still does allow himself to get drunk, just mainly on special occasions. or if he & belle are away on a trip, he indulges more.

onto that topic! when adam is drunk he’s SO affectionate. he’s just soft and loving. way more talkative as well. before belle, the alcohol just made him very very sociable (and therefore, likeable!) and also more of a bitch <3 but once belle is in the picture, he’s still pretty talkative, but everything gets centered around belle. he’s just always leaning on her and kissing her wherever he can. he’s much more of a lightweight (even with all that experience 😮‍💨) so it doesn’t take long before he gets all 🥴🥴🥴 lmao. even his conversations always somehow circle back to belle. (though, that happens when he’s sober too. his wife is his special interest! sue him!)

belle isn’t a lightweight at all. i think it takes her a while to get Very drunk. but when she does, she just gets very like, amplified. and by that i mean both that she speaks loudly and she becomes like. belle+ sjdksj. like she gets REALLY hypothetical and philosophical and starts asking random ass people the biggest and most ridiculous questions. and she’ll really want to discuss it with them. her mind just starts questioning the universe and getting into crazy deep discussions. and they’re surprisingly coherent! but it’s funny when she’s doing this to adam, because he’s just leaning on her, kissing her neck, and she’s like “but how did we get here? is there a god? how could we know? what if plato’s allegory was true and we’re all just looking at shadows. love are you listening???” and he’s just sleepily kissing her neck like “you’re brilliant, darling. absolutely. tell me more.” afjsjdj

i think belle reaches another level of drunk (it’s like in brooklyn 99 where amy has a different kind of drunk for every drink she has) where she gets very playful and frisky and handsy and Horny. and she usually doesn’t reach that point until near the end of the night, so adam and belle Quickly make their escape to the bedroom. but sometimes it hits her earlier during the party and she’s like “get up beaumont i need you to fuck me agaisnt the wall in that empty room down the hall.” and he’s like ofhskfhskdj anything for you beyonce!!!!!!!!!!!! anyway they’re a nightmare <3

i’ll also just end on a sweeter note, lmao, here’s a tiny fic i wrote set on adam’s 31st birthday. he’s all drunk and soft and affectionate and tells his wife how much he loves her. that’s it that’s the plot 💖

Chapter twelve: can i be honest?

"ok well i need to go see what they're doing to find the arch-mage" enfys said as he was heading towards the door "try to rest, ether."

Ether shook their head. "Im not tired right now. I might go see what zaroth is up to though!"

Enfys rolled his eyes with a smile "well try to not reveal too much about our situation. Better safe than sorry." They then left with the door open leaving ether just getting up.

Ether stretched a little before noticing his werewolf arm once again. He sighed and decided to look through the wardrobe. He found a very loose shirt and very big pants and he was ecstatic to find clothes that fit him so perfectly though the shirt showed his chest hair more than he'd like. He also found some really comfy shoes and though he felt them restraining he liked this better than his old slippers. He took them all off quickly though after seeing that there was a bathtub in the bathroom and he decided to try all the fancy things in there.

After he was done showering he noticed how his hair was shining more now and felt a little curlier than usual and he loved the smell of that oil like substance he put in the water. He couldn't read the font very well but he assumed it was some sort of perfume. He then wore all his new clothes and put on his cape and with a skip in his step bun left to find zaroth.

There was however one issue. Theyyyy didn't know the way to zaroth. Or around that place for the matter. But they didn't falter! They decided to just walk around until they found zaroth or someone who can lead them to zaroth. Well, it ended up being the latter.

Ether bumped into an old man that was alot shorter than them. It appeared they were startled.

"oh hey sorry for bumping into you, are you alright?" Ether exclaimed while arching down a little

"oh- oh im ok thank you big guy. You're one of the rulers guests correct?"

Ether excitedly nodded with a smile. "I was hoping someone could help me find them, he said i could visit him any time."

The old man smiled and pat ethers back "im glad the ruler has a gentle giant like you around." He said as he was leading him down the hallway before whispering under his breath "its a nice change from his sister" the old man cleared his throat "in any case you'll find the ruler after taking a right then a left after the end of this Hallway."

Ether thanked him and went per his instructions to find zaroth talking with two politicians, he stood around waiting for them to finish and after they were done zaroth stood up and went to greet him

"hello ether! How may i help you?" Zaroth asked while walking to him

"oh uh hi zaroth. I was just wondering if we could talk i guess? I really didn't have a plan in mind i just wanted to be with you since we're friends now."

Zaroth smiled and nodded "well talking shouldn't be a problem. I've finished all my duties for the day thankfully." Zaroth sighed as he lead ether to a room next to the throne room, it was filled with beautiful artworks and the carpets were detailed. It had a little hole in the middle with a couch, cushions and a table. Zaroth sat down in it and invited ether but he feared he was too large so he sat outside the hole with his legs extending to its floor.

"so tell me, ether. What brought you here? I mean the high mage is obviously here to make sure chaos doesn't begin to take over the magic guild but i didn't realise why she brought you- no offense of course! im just wondering." Zaroth said while looking at ether as his head was resting on the floor outside that hole and their hair that seemed to be undone after a long day of working.

Ether took out his werewolf arm which obviously surprised zaroth, they only saw a glimpse of it. The whole arm was covered in fur and the claws at the end of his fingers were sharp and long "this, I think. He wants to keep a close eye on me because this never happened before. Apparently my curse is sort of under control right now. Heh.. you know i didn't even know i was cursed. I spent my days wondering where everyone went and why i could never protect my family pof sheep."

"well why did you leave with someone you just met?" Zaroth asked while slanting his head a little

"......after I've met those scouts that came to me, i wanted to leave with them since i had nothing else here for me. I thought its better for me and my sheep. I guess its because i always wanted to leave anyway. Then when i decided to stay with them in their camp for the night i killed them in my sleep. Enfys came and helped me through it so i don't go insane. I thought if they were able to help me then, they can help me get rid of that curse. And honestly they're quite charming so it wasn't long before i trusted them haha. Same for you, zaroth."

Zaroth blushed a little and giggled at the compliment "so you think im charming?"

"yeah. You're really nice and you were kind enough to help us. I owe you."

"oh please its my job as the ruler to make sure anyone within our borders is happy and getting the help the need. You don't owe me anything." They said while they turned around and rested their head on their arms "tell me. How was living there? I don't know much about your Kingdom."

"yeah well. I don't either. I only had some books and diaries to read about it and as far as i know it felt like people weren't exactly living well but they made the most of it. I guess i followed in their footsteps....i always wondered what happened to them but...i was scared that if i left the city with my sheep I'd end up dead or disappear like them. Then i realised that no one would leave the sheep unattended like that unless they left in a hurry...which means me and the sheep were all abandoned. I guess in that sense they're my only real family now."

"did you wish they took you with them after that?"

"no. Because if they did then the sheep wouldn't have survived. I didn't care if i was abandoned or not so long as i had them. It wouldn't be right if they had no one to care for them. For me, i was used to it. but they wouldn't survive that."

Zaroth looked at ether with a sad expression and seemed like he was about to cry from hearing ether talk like that

"sorry, i guess i dampened the mood."

"can i hug you?"

"What?"

"it just seems you need a hug from a friend."

"....yes...thank you."

Zaroth sat next to ether outside the hole and hugged ether close. it felt sincere, it felt the same way his sheep would come to cuddle with him. Tears rolled down both their cheeks.

"im so sorry you had to feel this way, ether. I'll do everything in my power to help you and enfys find a way to cure your curse and we will be sure to take care of your sheep if you decided to bring them here."

Ether hugged them back while trying to be careful with buns claws. "Thank you, zaroth. I really needed this. I really, Really needed this."

Zaroth ended their embrace and stood up "well let's stop talking about such depressing subjects! Want to see something interesting?" Asked zaroth while gesturing at the side of the room filled with trinkets and artifacts

Ether wiped his tears off and nodded before standing up "yes i do. You're a good friend, zaroth."

"don't mention it, big guy. Come on! Some of these things glow in the dark!"

Ether was surprised and seemed to be excited to see what zaroth was talking about as they dragged him to that corner.

After they were both done for the day ether returned to his room to find enfys sitting on the bed with a worried look

"oh hi ether! How was talking with zaroth?"

Ether slanted his head. "You knew i was there till now?"

"yeah?? Everyone has been talking about you looking for him and i didn't hear about you going anywhere else so i assumed u were with them this whole time."

"well i was- wait is it night already???" Ether exclaimed while heading to the window

"yeah you and zaroth have been talking for hours hahaha." Enfys smiled while saying something with his jaw closed, he seemed annoyed through it. Something about how "it must've been quite the conversation"

"yeah. Don't worry i didn't tell them any details about anything related to our journey."

"that's good then.....soooo is there anything you want to know?"

"well there WAS this bottle of good smelling oil in the bathroom. I didn't use much of it but its smell is really strong and nice. Couldn't read the font on it. Can i bring it to you?"

"yeah sure! But is that all?"

"hm? Oh yeah that's it for today really. Im tired and i assumed you were too so i thought we should get to sleeping soon. Youuuu Probably need it more, you've been cranky from sleeping on the ground the past few days."

Enfys laughed "is it that obvious? Yeah you're right, i am tired. Get me that bottle I'll read the thing."

"on it" ether said while zooming to the bathroom

Enfys thanked every god that made it possible for him to sleep on an actual bed after that trip.

"here it is!" Ether brought it and handed it to enfys

"ohhhh its rose essence. And yeah it does seem to be pretty strong smell wise. Good thing you didn't use alot of it or you'd have a headache from the smell. The font literally reads 'essence of red roses' by the way." Enfys handed it back to ether

"ah so that's why i couldn't recognise the smell. I never saw roses in my life." Ether said while heading to the bathroom to put it back

Enfys started undressing and putting their clothes on the edge of the bed. As they were about to put the covers on they noticed ethers old clothes were on the floor before rolling their eyes getting up to put them on the edge of his bed as well. Ether returned to find enfys doing that and he blushed from embarrassment

"sorry. You could've told me to do it you know? You didn't have to do it for me."

"ether please, i lived with 3 siblings im used to helping others when they didn't notice things. Also love the new clothes! You look amazing in them."

Ether ran his fingers through his hair to pull it back "thanks. You look amazing too.....hey uh enfys? Can i tell you something?"

Enfys paused for a second before going back to their bed.

"sure. Everything alright?"

"yeah its just...i feel like we can trust zaroth. I don't like hiding things from them at all. They're a good person."

Enfys looked concerned while thinking for a few seconds

"ok but I'll be the one to reveal the details to them. Sorry that you had to hide things from them, ether. I know it doesn't feel right but really its only for your safety."

"yeah i understand. I know im not exactly experienced with people so im following your lead. It was just a suggestion."

Enfys got into the bed and covered himself completely leaving only her head outside

"im glad you understand then. Goodnight, ether."

"yeah. Goodnight, enfys." Ether said while getting in bed and covering only his lower half with the light blanket.
