(bcs the guy lived nearby those countries in ye old Europe(tm) and something something immortal so why tf not learn languages while at it)

(also of course he learned demon tongue. He wants to rizz up demons and what better way to do that)

He learned demon tongue from random demons and a lot of trial and error

Plus he knows japanese if we are under the pretense that mc is japanese.

So like Solomon tries to use language rizz to get close to you as the other human student in Devildom. So basically using the Asmo trick with you.

For some reason (cough your heritage cough) he keeps messing up in which language speak to you with.

Angel instincts are telling him to just use whatever language with you but the thing is that You Don't Know Whatever Language

Which is odd because that's something he only does with fellow angels????

He doesn't think much of it. He's probably just confused because he's around mean demons! >:T

(His basic subconscious instincts are harder to control since he's low ranking and his Angel brain is going "You = angel = language doesn't matter")

Since he is was a high rank angel, he doesn't mess up what language speak to you with. He has real good control of stuff like that that comes with experience and age.

I already said this but yeah his preferred language is Archaic Latin (shared it with Lucifer pre-fall).

Ever since Lucifer's fall he switched to plain English and that's the answer he'll give you if you ask.

Only Angel that isn't bothered speaking demon tongue and will do so at his own leisure.

If you try to learn the demon language he is unironically so helpful because he isn't a spiteful bitch like Lucifer and actually teaches you shit without throwing you into the wolves

In fact Simeon is amused as hell over the fact that Lucifer is making you learn the hard stuff first. That is so him.

Ok so he probably knows English since it is Solomon's native and humanity's current universal(ish) language

Unlike Barbatos and Lucifer who are very impressive Polyglots he's realistic in his language stuff. The more down-to-earth of the three

His English is hilarious

Not particularly because he says things wrong but his accent and tone just makes it sound incredibly funny

Loquar for some reason translates what he says in Demon Tongue the most literal ass sense possible for literally no reason

Everyone has been troubleshooting whatever the fuck happens to Loquar Ad Vos with Diavolo but no idea so far.

The phrase "have you tried unpapplying it and applying it again" has been uttered more than once unironically

The working theory is that since Diavolo is royalty and Loquar Ad Vos was created with the sampling of normal demons it works wrong on him since there's something different(tm)

Reverse engineering the Loquar spell to work on him has been in the works for a while. Loquar is drafted like shit since it is an old human-oriented spell (Basically like spaghetti code needing to be rewritten), so it proves a bit troublesome.

You later find that Diavolo speaks in a very uniquely pronounced manner

(he's fluent-ish in Japanese as well if we are running in the assumption that the reason why MC's canonically japanese is because they needed someone who A) speaks a language translatable by Loquar Ad Vos B) is also a language Diavolo knows and C) is not of the same social background as Solomon)

He will get so unapologetically excited when you start learning demon tongue. You two can!!! Communicate even more!!!!!

i came up with what i think is an incredibly cute idea for a mdzs au and i really might add it to my project list cuz it tickles my fancy.

i'm dying thinking about it so let me give as small of a summary as i can here lmao

*the big change here is LWJ. LWJ is essentially a lot less restrictive, but...mainly with WWX! Think of this slightly like a sober-drunk LWJ.

-WWX meets LWJ at Cloud Ressesses, as per usual. he's still strict, but something about him seems softer around WWX than with other people, and others notice it immediately while WWX has no fucking clue. (this doesn't mean he's not aware, this just means it's too early for him to understand there's a difference).

-LWJ intentionally catches WWX every time he does something against the rules, and is secretly the happiest guy ever bc he now gets to sit with WWX every day for hours. this will help it still be a surprise for WWX when LWJ starts opening up to him bc why does strict lan suddenly wanna friend me??

-it does not take long before LWJ is actually seeming to open up even if not in the way WWX expected. (at least a month so after his punishment) as a result, WWX stops doing as much bad things to get LWJ's attention, and simply hangs out with him a ton. (Jc is a bit jealous bc he always wants the two to hang alone. He doesn't think about it too much though cuz wwx is always outgoing so he thinks he's probably overthinking it- not that he thinks they're in a relationship at this point)

-WWX starts behaving a bit, just because he wants to hang around longer, but still ends up punching Jin Zixuan. As a result, LWJ convinces uncle to let him go to Lotus pier as both an escort and to study there since he's already a great lan student! (aka he just wants to stick around WWX) and after a great battle with the of eyes he is allowed to go.

When I think about him these emojis come to mind: 💥☄🌒😡🌫❗🕳👺

Listen there's no in between with him, he is either not big on emojis OR he overuses all of them. it doesn't matter the context. he puts them everywhere. he's talking about sth serious? he will put the crying laughing emoji. followed by random emojis (mairon can't stand it). that depends on his mood though.

But if he knows that you have one emoji that you hate, he's gonna use that ALL. THE. TIME. Everywhere. hes annoying.

18. How about a relationship they have in canon with another character that you admire?

Well i really like his dynamic with Mairon, even if we're not talking about it in a romantic way.

I think it's interesting because look there's this big bad guy who has a lieutenant and they both only like each other. I also think they balance each other out well, they are similar but not so much that it makes them clash this is more feanor/melkor.

And Melkor definitely needs the order and everything Mairon has to offer. Look at him, the chaos is everywhere. They both have a lot to offer to each other and I think that's the main key for their dynamic here.

Also. "The corruption of Mairon" yes okay but i think he WANTED to be corrupted, Melkor just offered him this opportunity. It's another version of them that can be pretty interesting, it all depends on how you want to see their dynamic/relationship.

My thoughts are all over the place about them but I have to sit and ponder more to give you a better answer tbh.

22. If you're a fic reader, what's something you like in fics when it comes to ths character? Something you don't like?

I really like when people write him as ruthless and relentless, but also. let's not forget that this guy is a loser. so I like it when people add that side of him in their fics. Because he's literally just fucking around and finding out most of the time. Let's be real kfjsdkdjfsd

Something I don't like. Well I don't really know. I haven't read anything that I didn't like. The only thing I would like to see more of is melkor who is just a wreck tbh. Like emotionally and mentally i just want to read about him dealing with those feelings (even though he doesn't really know how to do that!!!)

I'm currently writing a piece that kiiinda resembles what i said above and I have to say it's very interesting to explore that side of him.

Listen....... basically I can talk about him w melkor here since this question doesn't specify the kind of relationship.

So i think it's SUPER interesting bc i've seen people saying that they are the two sides of the same coin (and it's def true. they both follow their emotions more than being logical. boh of them also go against the Valar for their own reasons etc.)

I think feanor ofc has every right to hate melkor but at the same time. it's like you are hating a part of yourself bro bc they are so similar. Also they both have a passion that is unmatched. like I am not even seeing this from a shipper perspective, that's right there.

Their dynamic, even though it's barely discussed is sooo good and I think if melkor wasn't such a fuckass dipshit and feanor wasn't so impulsive it would be sooo interesting to explore another side of them where they could work together or sth. Think about it.

Then again, you can also see them exactly as Tolkien intended (feanor, who hates melkor for sooo many valid reasons. melkor who just loves manipulating and lying and being a bitch) and still enjoy their dynamic idk i think it's very promising.

I love the convo that's happening on your blog right now. (I also love your writing) I want to add as someone with a special interest in such things that alot of metal fashion was inspired (or taken from) gay leather and gay biker culture. Actually a lot of alt subcultures were influenced by gay leather culture at some point. From punk to goth to metal- from battle vests to handcuffs to O-rings- queer artists like Judy's Priest brought gay biker and leather culture to the main stage and made those fashions fashionable to people who probably would never have seen it otherwise. As with alot of gay things that get attention, the significance was mostly lost on straight audiences, but they adopted the fashions regardless bc it looked cool or made them feel tough. So it's possible that Eddie's flagging (though the internet doesn't exist yet and they wouldn't exactly have 'guide to gay cruising culture: how to flag' up on the shelves so he would have had to learn from experience and he's a bit young to have enough experience to know 100% unchangingly what he's doing in bed) and it's very likely that he's just imitating artists and people he's seen at metal shows because it's metal fashion. But the Origins remain queer bc queer people make the world go round. (OK. Rant over. I love your writing <3)

dionysus in tsats

ok i mentioned in a previous post how i love dionysus and his story had so much potential to be included in tsats, so here's just some stuff i wish happened/were mentioned.

(preface to say that i did love all the interactions with him, i just wish we had... more)

if you're going to add ANY queer characters, the first one mentioned should literally be the god of homosexuality, cross dressing, and effeminacy

like all the minor characters were wonderful, but cmon! ancient greece wasn't exactly as open to equal/consenting gay relationships as people think, and strict gender stereotypes were really degrading to trans people (especially for "feminine men")

so if you consider dionysus's whole life basically, he would have had it really rough!!! like nico!!!

i think that if anyone could have helped nico/other campers come to term with their identities, it should've been mr. d, and it would have been such a different side of his we wouldn't have seen before

like a scene with him talking to nico about his relationship with will or talking about nico's whole catholic guilt sexuality crisis — that's the kind of dionysus content I NEEDED

i feel like the whole amphithemis storyline wasn't as well-explained/in depth as i wanted it to be

i was SO EXCITED to hear about this bc dionysus's childhood is super interesting and i wanted to see which interpretation of the myths rick/mark went with

it would have been so cool to maybe hear snippets about ancient greece, what happened to the other lamian centaurs, how this singular one ended in tartarus

or even maybe someone, i don't know, REASSURING AMPHITHEMIS THAT "THE CHILD" IS A GROWN-ASS GOD

when will and nico were recounting their journey to chiron and mr. d, i would have also loved to see some reaction from dionysus about his former caretaker being a mania in tartarus

also some acknowledgement of dionysus's madness! in a lot of versions of the myths, hera actually drove dionysus mad for a year (don't quote me on that timeline), so i think he could have had an interesting aside, if not full convo, about sympathizing with amphithemis being driven mad

there's a quote that's something like "dionysus stared dreamily at will as he described the underworld" or something like that — i wish we got a comment from mr d on what the underworld used to look like when he went down there (to save his mother semele who he brought to immortality)

according to riordan wiki (but very conflicting in greek mythos), dionysus was a demigod during the (original) gigantomachy, so i wish wish wish we got a comment on maybe what that was like or talking to the most recent batch of demigods about how to recover from it

a therapy session/talk between nico and mr d would have been really cool to read, or even a post-nightmare talk after mr d finished eating his popcorn

more dionysus/chiron interactions? some myths say that after he was raised by the nymphs, dionysus was sent over to train under chiron for a bit to gain wisdom and stuff, so i would die for some more of their relationship

also i've been wanting this for years now, but a dionysus reveal where he actually looks like his true form (aka literally stunning) would've solved my life problems. especially in such a gay book.

this is all i can think of for now but i'm literally planning on writing a bunch of chb and dionysus stuff soon because i'm in my "hyperfixate on a singular greek god's conflicting life story and deciding what i most agree with instead of studying for midterms" era :)

i love mickey "seems like a human trash compactor at first glance" milkovich and ian "actual human trash compactor but he prefers organic😌✨" gallagher going on food adventures together. yeah sometimes they cant STAND the other one being in the kitchen while they're trying to cook, but sometimes they do lil food experiments together and follow recipes and make up their own recipes on the fly. and if mickey doesnt like it or picks thru his food ian will eat whatever he doesnt because hes just here having the time of his life trying new things and eating anything thats not fucking spaghetti 4 times a week. but mickey has a tendency to add too much spice and ian has tummy hurt disorder :( so he always slaps that shit out of mickeys hand when he sees him adding it. come on mick just add hot sauce on your plate and stop with all the fucking chili oil already. but one day mickey adds WAYYY too much and theyre both on fire fighting over the milk and ian gives him the chin for like a week straight so he chills it with the spice

mickey often puts himself on sandwich/instant ramen/toast duty for lunch bc he likes having ians food ready before the alarm goes off

That's not just you, for the record, it's your social anxiety, angel. You don't want someone who means a lot to you to be upset with you, and... May have difficulty believing they may want to spend time with you as well.

Your anxiety about "having nothing to say" is likely making it difficult to think of possible topics ahead of time, making you panic even more, which is not your fault, by the way.

My advice would be to whenever you think of something you might like to discuss, make a note on your phone. Just make up a cheatsheet of topics that your person might enjoy hearing about, things you also find interesting, of course.... Then add to it as you think of new ones. Not sitting down and brainstorming when you're tangled up in a panic, but just here and there.

After you have a few topics listed, glance over it whenever you want to talk to them, ok? You might not be able to hold onto everything when you visit with them, but it'll help control the panic of feeling like you have no reason to want to spend time with them.

Wanting to spend time with them because you love them is a wonderful reason, by the way, if they don't think so, if spending time with you is bothersome to them in any way... I'm sorry for being rude but that person might not deserve you. Clearly they mean a lot to you, but if they've made you feel like you need a reason or you're bothering them... There is no polite way to say the next thing I was about to write XD!

I saw some tags on the poll about polls, and pushed myself to think of a few more that aren't specifically character based. It's hard though! I thought of a few but can't really get my mind away from characters, especially since for me personally that's one of the big appeals of comics.

Favorite arc - pretty straightforward and could be a good way to expose each other to things we havent read.

Coolest fanwork - I probably wouldn't do this bc as much as I love the idea of nominating someone for something they've worked on and seeing them excited that they won, I really dont like the idea of there being losers and feeling not good enough. Of course nothing would go in without permission but ehh I don't think a poll bracket is the right format for this one.

Most questionable pose - official art only so we are looking at professional work. Could be bad sexy anatomy, funny pose of someone's butt in the air for no reason, etc. But would have to come with a big disclaimer that everyone even professionals are at different skill levels as artists. I keep trying to think of an art related poll that will work bc it's like a Big part of comics, but I still have misgivings.

Freaky friday - alright this actually is a character poll but not just a who's your fav. People submit characters and then I randomly pair them to swap bodies, and we vote on who would fair best. Id hope it would get zany.

Whose power would you rather have - not quite a blorbo poll but adjacent? Personally I have been trying in all my tournament ideas to avoid a situation where the most popular character wins, either by making the poll not about popularity/best-ness (without an interesting twist), or making the poll not about individual characters. Its hard. But this one would engage people on a more personal level bc their own preferences are going to be unique from person to person. It's not a judgment call of which character is "better" or fits some definition most, but rather who would you specifically want to be. And maybe it'd strike up convo about what y'all would do with that power.

The thing I really am aiming for with these polls is to generate more interaction in the community (actually let me add that the pinned post). My favorite part of being a fan is finding other people and laughing and having fun about a thing we all enjoy. Comics are such a special medium bc there's SO much content and it's so varied. And this tournament fad (yes, that's what it is) is just one way of many to explore that and to achieve this goal. So I'm trying to see what the possibilities are and what will work/what won't while i can before the craze passes.

(edit bc I keep thinking of more.. how about worst/stupidest character death? Biggest missed opportunity? Or something silly like best entrance or sickest burn. Oh or what if the scenario changed every round like it was an adventure that the characters were on?)
