a/n: inspired by rrcherrypie's hello kitty bento box video that i watched religiously as a kid. this entire fic is a shitpost tbh LMAO this is my government mandated apology for a story where no one goes anywhere <3 go check it out if you haven't yet!

Ever since his cop days, Leon’s learned that you can’t trust anyone whose hands aren’t in plain sight and well, Hello Kitty’s emblazoned face staring up at him from the kitchen counter doesn’t exactly have hands. Or arms.

Leon scrunches his nose at her and opts to wrap his own arms around your waist instead.

“Doll.”

“Hm?” 

Leon lines the side of your neck with kisses as carrot coins and cucumber slices fall serenely away at your knife. 

“Whatcha doin’?” he prods.

You neatly sweep the vegetables into the Hello Kitty bento box and give your attention-hungry husband a kiss to tide him over, but it’s not quite enough to satiate. Octopus sausages stare back at him with pointy sesame seed eyes, and Leon grows more unsettled by the minute.

He’s done playing nice; gives your hip a pinch. “Come on, you’re killing me here. What’s with all the arts and crafts?”

“Now, before you say anything,” your voice is soft and placating and giving him all the more reason to worry, "‘Becca came by to visit me the other day and said she really liked what I made you for lunch last week.”

“So this is for her?” Leon breathes a sigh of relief. He was starting to thin-

“No, this is for you, silly!”

And you laugh like it’s funny.

“I thought I should start putting in some more effort into your food. You’re away for work so often, and I don’t get to make you nice things as much as I want to.”

Leon chokes a little and looks back down at Hello Kitty’s gleaming metal face. “This is…what I’m taking to work?”

Your face falls. “What, you don’t like it?”

“No, doll, it looks delicious but…you really didn’t have to go all out. Your sandwiches are just fine. I don’t wanna give you the trouble, y’know?” 

“No trouble at all, baby,” you practically sing the words as you twirl to add your knife to a precarious tower of dishes in the sink, “you just say the word, and I can make you bento boxes every week.”

Every week?

You cup a soapy palm to Leon’s cheek as his gaze descends into a thousand-yard stare to rival Hello Kitty’s. “I think your friends might even be excited about your lunch now!”

Oh, absolutely. Chris was going to have a field day.

Chris completely loses his shit as predicted.

“Oh, Leon, it’s adorable,” Rebecca chimes in hopefully as Chris coughs into his fist, “you should have seen how excited she was when I gave her the box!”

The frustrated ceramic click of Leon’s teeth is somehow audible over Chris’ uncivilized howling. “So this was your idea?”

She gives him a sheepish chuckle.

“Rebecca, I thought we were friends,” he pleads as he picks up his metal fork. The team hovers over Leon’s shoulders like vultures to eye what his wife’s made him for lunch. 

To your credit, it’s a mealtime Michelangelo. There are Sanrio-themed rice balls of both the brown and white variety, vegetables neatly cut and festooned with animal picks, a beautifully folded omelet, and the ever omniscient octopus sausages. Hello Kitty’s metal face guards the entire hoard like a gargoyle. It’s enough to make Leon lose his lunch, but he’d have to have some first to cough it up.

He gives the octopus a tentative poke.

“Seriously, Leon, just man up and eat the damn thing.” Jill takes no nonsense as usual, plucking a carrot from the bed of lettuce and tossing it into her mouth. “Chris is just salty he’s having his fifth protein shake lunch of the week.”

“Am not!”

“Are too!”

It’s never quiet with those two around, but Rebecca gives him an encouraging smile as he gives the octopus a chew. It’s not bad, really. It’s just something about eating something with ey-

Rapid alarm beeps in the main compound snap the team’s attention away from the bento box affair and towards the map in the middle. Rebecca shoots off in her rolling chair to pull up what’s alerting the alarm system, and Hunnigan’s business voice projects into Leon’s earpiece.

“I hope you’ve had a satisfying lunch.” 

He wonders if Hunnigan ever eats as he shoves his bento box into the breast pocket of his leather jacket. 

She, however, is unconcerned. “You’re going to need the energy for the incident we’ve just gotten wind of downtown.”

The situation was supposed to be minor. There were rumors of King Tut’s Curse swirling amongst the museum staff after a rare shipment of Egyptian artifacts, but nobody had taken anything seriously until a janitor walked into the storage room and came back out more dead than alive. Things escalated after the infected janitor wandered into the World War II exhibit and bit the cleaning team there. The staff was horrified, the media was unhelpfully broadcasting the entire thing on live TV, and the DSO had blessedly quieted the whole thing down on that end before directing the case to Leon’s team as a classic T-virus takedown operation.

Easy as pie. Except the undead cleaning crew had gotten ahold of loaded World War II guns, you know, for historical accuracy. 

It’s a cinch for the most part to evacuate the visitors from the museum. Leon ushers terrified middle schoolers out of the exhibits as fast as he can while the rest of his team rounds up the infected, and it’s a routine sweep. He just feels bad for the kiddos.

“But what about the gift sho- AHH!! ” Leon whirls around to see an Infected point a knife bayonet into a terrified sixth-grader’s face. The zombie’s finger pulls back the trigger almost cinematically, and Leon’s not stupid. He’s going to be too late.

The gun fires.

It fires a round directly into his left shoulder as he shoves the kid to safety.

Leon collapses on the ground after shooting the zombie’s head to bits, but his shoulder aches something fierce. Oh God, not again, this time he hasn’t even got Ada to patch him up. He gingerly presses two fingers to the wound and pulls them away to inspect the warm spill of blood, but surprisingly, his fingers come away clean. 

Jill comes running up as he stumbles to his feet. The last of the Infected have been wiped out, she explains frantically, pulling out a roll of gauze, and everything’s secure, but suddenly she stops to peer at his spotless bullet wound.

So it’s not just him. There was definitely a shot, and his shoulder definitely hurts like a bitch. 

But where was the bullet?

You’re chewing your nails down to the quick when Leon walks into the living room later that evening. The quiet shuffle of his shoes falling onto the stand prompts you to smother in him a warm, bakery-scented hug and take him by surprise, but he squeezes you back as much as his shoulder allows.

You sniffle into his leather-clad chest. “I’m so sorry, baby, I just- I saw the news before they stopped the broadcast and I can’t believe they sent you to deal with the riot!”

So that’s what Hunnigan fed the press this time. Practical as always.

“I can’t believe I made you go to work with that stupid lunch,” you carry on, gasping as you spot the bandage peeking through his jacket, “you didn’t like it and you could have died, I’m never-”

“I’m alright, no biggie.” Leon kisses the top of your head, taking you by the arms and sitting you down next to him on the couch. You furiously wipe a tear off your face.

“It’s not alright, I’m never making you anything you don’t like ever again. That bento box is bad juju. I’m telling Rebecca never to buy anything from that shop from now on.”

Okay, so you finally admit the box is creepy. Leon bites back a laugh. 

“Woah, doll, not so fast. You think it’s the box’s fault I got hurt?”

“What else would it be? Today’s the first time you take it to work, and then you get shot on a regular patrol.” You frown as he pulls the Hello Kitty bento out from inside his jacket. “You brought that thing home?”

He chuckles. “Take a look at it. I’ve got you to thank for saving my life.”

You squint at the tin and realize with a startle that a bullet round is lodged smack dab in the middle of Hello Kitty’s yellow nose. Like a goddamn bullseye.

The lunchbox had taken the brunt of the hit, leaving Leon unscathed.

“Incredible.” you breathe out. 

And he’s inclined to agree.

“So, doll,” Leon grins, “got any leftovers for tomorrow? Chris is a really big fan of the octopus things.”

y/n: thanks you so much for the love ‘hits different’ received! it is my most vulnerable piece of work and putting it out there was hard, but i knew i had to. break ups are never easy, no matter how happy someone can be on the outside, they may be battling their hardest battles inside. but i’ll get better, like they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

Hi! Love everything you do and all your gorgeously crafted fics. If you haven’t already answered, what’s your writing process like? Your last story was so good I actually started jotting down ideas, brainstorming. It’s the closest I’ve gotten to writing in years. The thought of actually doing it though can be daunting. How you process a story idea into and take it from an idea to the great stories we get to read??

Thank you! It may just be the greatest pleasure for a writer to inspire another to write. I am taking your hand - and I hope you feel its warmth just like my gratitude - and pouring all of my inspiration to you 💗 I hope you get sooo inspired to write and share the excitement of getting to create

I feel like I'm going to rant so I'll hide it under the cut. Major spoilers for Yes To Heaven, as I'm gonna give it as an example.

1. I usually just start thinking about one scene or a single concept, maybe a couple, and then think: oh, this could become something tangible. You gotta catch that scene in your head and really taste it, look around the characters (where they are, when, what universe), try to envision it in your head like a movie; look inside the characters, what are they feeling, like, right now, what their thoughts are, what are they saying? At this point, usually the idea starts to grow into my mind so deep that the only way to get rid of it is to write. Otherwise, it would drive me insane.

Example: with Yes To Heaven, it started with one scene where Stiles is surrounded with alphas, and everyone wants him, everyone looks at him and stumbles all over themselves to help him. And Stiles is blushing and beautiful and wondering what's all this for. And Derek in the corner, glaring at everyone and seething.

2. Ok, now it's time for the good old record scratch and the "you're probably wondering how I got here". I sort of step away from the scene: one step into the past and one into the future. I usually get really quickly to the "oh so THIS is the story, okay...". So you got the vague feeling of the plot.

Example: I literally started to think: why would Derek not intervene? Why would the alphas circle around Stiles and want him? What would Derek do, bc he can't simply stand aside and watch the vultures peck at his Stiles. Oh, Stiles is an omega. What if he was a rare omega? The only way Derek wouldn't intervene is if he didn't have the same reasons to circle Stiles. He differs from others. He's a bodyguard. But he intervenes in the end. Why?

3. And then, of course, you get the feel of the story. Ah, this is a story about beautiful Stiles breaking Derek's control and everything he knew about himself (sort of, in the most simple sense).

Then I get boring and go look at the trusted three act plot structure. I know there are a lot of plot structures out there, but this is the most common one and simple to follow. (I'm dying to explore other plot structures tbh, they look intriguing)

Once at the structure, I usually go for the big guns and straight up start thinking about the climax of the story bc I love drama.

Characters need to break. Something about them needs to: their body, their mind, their worldview, their very core and morals and beliefs. The climax is what your story will be remembered for, the very nail-biting tension at the height of it and the inevitable drop into the abyss. Characters need to change, that's why we follow the stories of them.

Not gonna lie, I don't struggle with this part, I'm always there for the ultimate angst, so idk how to tell you to get there.

Example: Stiles' hesitant trust for Derek shatters when Derek sends him back to the Institute. He didn't expect it and it is the worst betrayal for him. Stiles breaks. Derek breaks as well, bc Stiles rejects him. It changes both of them: Derek becomes ruthless (he could've killed Deaton from the beginning, but something always stopped him until now); Stiles, after Derek comes back for him, lets the trust to flourish, and he becomes content. For the first time in his life, Stiles has someone he can trust to come back for him and keep their promises. Derek would never leave Stiles - and that's the resolution for both of them.

At this point, I really see what the story is truly about: trust and its fragility, the false safety of feeling like you have that trust when you have nothing but the shadow of it.

Now I know what everything has to be about. The theme (trust, in my case) should be like the sun that shines upon all of them and soaks into every corner of the story. Everything should lead you step by step to the resolution of the theme. You don't have to focus every single sentence on it, but it should be there, always. Like the sun. You don't notice it, but it's still there.

4. Then, you have to think about the backstory. You really have to think why are they doing what they do, where do they come from, what lead them to where they are now. The backstory starts waaaaay before the tale does, but you have to develop it (because some if not most traumas come from childhood/adolescence).

Example: why is it so important to Stiles that someone comes for him? (everyone left him before, his mother and father). Why does Derek want Stiles so bad? (Stiles needs him to survive, Stiles is not afraid of him, Stiles accepts him as he is)

5. Now that I have the beginning and the climax, I usually follow the three acts points (you can create more acts, just keep raising the stakes and the tension). How do they meet, what creates the spark between them, the attraction and the conflict, what makes them fall in love, where does that love lead to?

6. Not gonna lie, more often than not I don't know how to end things. I get to the climax and just sit there staring at the wall, like, now what? The answer for me is to go to the beginning and make the ending reflect it but in a new light: either sweet, or bitter, or anything in between. It puts a nice bow to your ending, ties all ends, closes all arcs and creates a nice contrast.

Maybe, there's a false climax (like, with Stiles sleepwalking out of his father’s house alone at night and Derek nearly tearing John to shreds bc of it (it's just another push to him keeping Stiles solely to himself in the end)). You get a little breather before shit really hits the fan (the tension keeps climbing; maybe not with the angst but instead with sex or a side plot drama).

About the stakes: your character needs to lose something to change. Because, otherwise, how else do you make the change worth anything at all? You decide what the loss is, something good or bad depending on the story; the loss of a loved one? an old misconception? a harmful habit? a good habit? entire world?? life??? You also get to decide whether the character does it willingly. The change becomes valuable only if it costs something.

Example: Stiles letting go of his Dad (his past and his pain, his burden). He lets Derek take it off his shoulders - and trusts him to carry it right.

Tip: you really should try to tie all ends (unless leaving them open is intentional), at least as much as you can, bc you as an author will probably forget that you haven't told it (bc in your head you know it all), but the reader doesn't know shit and will be like, "And what about A, B, and C? You haven't told us, ergo you're a lazy writer". For me, that's for the editing stage. You have to really think whether you actually told that one important thing or you just thought that everyone would get it out of the context.

Example: I always envisioned Derek with a beard in Yes To Heaven, but after I started editing, I noticed that the first mention of it is at, like, 50k word point or something. Jesus, Hedwig, not everyone can read your mind, explain things! Or how Laura doesn't know that Derek is their pack's Left Hand (had to go back and make Derek and Cora more secretive with his job).

7. Welp, that's kinda it.

There is a lot more that comes to making a story better with different ways of storytelling (I love Chekhov's gun and red herrings, personification and metaphors, to the point where it gets repetitive).

Believe me, I get the dread and the sudden emptiness of mind that overwhelms you when you stare at the empty document. You sit there and stare, and nothing comes out. But, the thing is, instead of focusing on the behemoth of the idea in your head that leans over you like storm clouds, look down and pick at small things.

Maybe create bullet points: the climax scene, the incidents that lead to it, small stuff. Once you write it down, you'll see the whole story better. And it really helps when you're stuck and you don't know what to write next. Look in your notes, at the structure (you can print it or draw it and just write above the points), and you’ll feel more grounded.

Suddenly, it's not this enormous thing, it's this little thing that leads to this other little scene and, oh, they're sucking each other’s dicks.

The grand Idea is your sun that's always there and shines upon you, but you don’t focus on it, you're just making your characters fry pancakes. It will all come together, just... small steps. Small steps that lead you to the top of the Everest. Don’t look at that top, focus on the steps in front of you, else you'll slip into the crater of a burnout.

This makes me wonder... What do you think of MCU Peter? Like the fact he basically gets all his stuff from Stark. Tbh I'm not a big comic reader but isn't the point that he's like,, poor and invents his own stuff...? I could be so wrong here but oh well, I'll ask

i think that yeah - it absolutely misses the point of peter parker being a working-class hero who's struggle is. the whole point.

i think a huge part of the problem with superhero media in general lately is that it's not really about heroism or hope anymore (something that previous spider-man movies deal with in spades) - superhero media nowadays is often kind of just wish fulfilment. you know. imagine if YOU were this powerful and rich! imagine if you, a dumb kid, got a BILLIONAIRE SUGAR DADDY who makes you a COOL SUIT and COOL TOYS!! it's the same case in the comics too, it's not about the cost of power or the questions it brings about your responsibility to the world - or even it being allegorical for anything (everything to me is allegory. but i can't even do that with the mcu because actually, everything in the mcu is kind of literal? there's nothing there to sink my teeth into. nothing i can interpret in any sort of different way other than, like, military propaganda and wish-fulfilment. i don't think they're even concerned with telling any sort of human story with most of these characters.)

the thing is with peter parker is that the whole point is that it's not wish-fulfilment. sure, it's freaking awesome to have super-strength and swing around the city and everyone wants that. but it always, always, always comes at a cost to him. and it doesn't solve any of his problems. everything is still difficult. money. romance. he's knocked off his feet by the common cold. he's just a guy. bad things happen to him and there's never an easy out. he doesn't just have fortified penthouses at his disposal, and high-tech suits, and wizards he can call to break the multiverse for him.

i think the frustrating thing with peter parker in the mcu is that they'll pay lip-service to it but not have it be part of peter's character at all. peter says jokingly "haha i'm broke" like we ever even SEE the impact of that on him like at all. the vulture says to peter "you're like me, we're just working class guys", as if peter showed any frustration or struggle at any point in that movie to justify that comparison. he doesn't have to work a job to pay his tuition at this elite science school. there's never a question of whether he can afford this trip to europe. his identity is blown and immediately he gets set up at a fancy maximum-security apartment with all the technology he needs at his disposal. there is never a second of struggle for him. there is not one moment where he doesn't have everything he needs, any time he needs it. his court cases are settled immediately over like, a three minute conversation with matt murdock. nothing touches him. he literally skates by with sheer dumb luck and having powerful contacts. what kind of stupid, boring-ass spider-man story is that.

raimi trilogy and tasm movies you were real. you get it. being spider-man does not make life easier. you just get to punch guys to feel better about it.

ive been looking back at my old quixis thoughts, so im here to share my old thoughts of "We will stand for everfree" from my little pony but its all a little paraphrased because im somewhat better at words now

Wants to get rid of Fable, Quixis knows what he can do, they know he will keep their powers at bay and they don't like it

"We won't stand for Fable's free" is how i always imagine this line being, also could be talking about the town itself

nature = change, while I don't think Quixis is a god in the same sense as Fable or like Len, i think they embody change in at least some amount

Fable and all the gods that have tries to fuck with the grove, theyre the vultures

We don't know if we CAN trust Quixis, if we can then Fable is bad but if we can't then Quixis is bad, which tbh seems to be the most likely at this current point. I think if they get to be the big villain for the rest of the season they'll be really cool but they also seem to feel bad about hurting Sherb so we'll see

Im about 4’11..not to happy about it. I’m kind of introverted, and can be considered not a people person. I find life a little nihilistic. I’m into dressing in all black (trad, mopey, mall, black-metal, and hippie goth styles mainly, both fem and masc. chill days I settle for dark street wear. ) or and taking a liking to gruesome and morbid things like slashers, analog horror, witchcraft, true crime, ghost hunting, necromancy, anatomy, etc. I typically consider myself a "gorehound" ig. I participate in "Vulture Culture"; and I also like to visit abandoned places just for fun, along with playing quite a few escape rooms. I’m a huge animal person though, and I own a herd of four guinea pigs that I protect with my life. I have my moments where I can get really feisty, or very quiet and closed off. I’ve been told I’m also a laidback person. I’ve also been told I never know when to quit, and I find I hold grudges for certain things. It’s not as common now but I used to get called a vampire by other kids when I was younger since I had oddly pointy canine teeth. I find it funny, seeing how I am today. I also have an inside joke with my family where they call me "Irl Wednesday Addams" which I find funny too (if not a little annoying at the wrong times).

I’m the type of person that has lots of opinions on things but I keep them to myself and bottle them up. If pushed far enough I’ll become unforgiving, and aggressive. especially with the types of people mentioned above.

I find the most comfort in just being in my room drawing, listening to music ( the cure, london after midnight, type o negative, deftones, slipknot, rob zombie,,,, sometimes melanie martinez , insane clown posse, jazmin bean or mother mother, etc. ), or even occasionally playing video games, reading, writing, or talking about a random conspiracy theory or shower thoughts I have. I also like to play D&D with my friends when I can, it’s super fun. I’m an actor and dancer, and I’m learning how to play electric guitar. I mostly work as a scare actor, and in the future I have a dream of being a broadway actor. I also take dance and singing classes for it, though dance isn’t as interesting to me.

I’m a plushie maniac and when I fall asleep you can always see me cuddled up to one of them. I find it because I’m really touch starved. I also have this specific blanket I can literally not sleep without. Im also a caffeine addict (97% of my body is just iced coffee tbh), and I’m guilty of being very submissive and maybe even masochistic- and a bit of a pyromaniac. I dissociate or daydream a lot, so you can often catch me starring.

I suffer from a handful off mental issues like asd, hypersomnia, depression and anxiety; plus chronic conditions like gerd, asthma and hypoglycemia. These have all been diagnosed professionally, and I’m definitely not trying to make myself "quirky". unfortunately health problems run in my family.

I’m very fidgety, and often bite the inside of my cheek or bounce my leg rapidly. you don’t need to rocmantasize this stuff ofc, but I think it’s good to know so the person can tolerate me.

GHOST is a really cold, harsh person at first. Your first contact would probably be brutal and then you'd guys hate each other, no one would be able to apologize first. Simon is not good at understanding social cues so he would think that you are mad at him, and you would probably think he hates you so you'd never talk about it and miss your chance.

Just me rambling 🙂

You know what I’ve been thinking about all day? The fact that we as humans essentially demonized the sweetest animals ever. I could give so many examples. Like how ravens are associated with death/despair/gothic themes simply because of their black coloration when in reality they’re incredibly intelligent (literally as smart as human toddlers since they mastered delayed gratification.)

Or how vultures are associated with death/disease just bc they happen to primarily be scavengers when they’re also shown to be remarkably intelligent, mate for life, and are very affectionate to one another and human caretakers. (Vultures are my favorite bird of prey they’re so misunderstood😤.)

Sharks have been portrayed as vicious and bloodthirsty ever since the movie, Jaws, came out; and as a result of the film, were hunted until they became endangered. So much so that the director of the original film devoted the remainder of his life to Great White shark conservation. Sharks in reality are sea puppies who just bite things bc they’re curious. Great white sharks can form life-long friendships and lemon sharks absolutely love getting pets from divers. So much so that they get jealous when their favorite diver pets another shark! (I love lemon sharks sm😫!!!) Also there’s a small shark called a shy shark that just curls into a ball as a defense mechanism. They’re so cute😩

I can admit that I’m a little afraid of spiders (big ones at least) and I don’t wanna come near them or touch them. But I also would never wanna hurt them! Especially since they’re so vital to the ecosystem by consuming harmful bugs. Like lots of small animals, they only attack bc they’re scared. Lots of smaller spider species actually have been studied by zoologists and were found to have their own individual characteristics! (Ex. one spider hates light, the other doesn’t mind it, one eats prey immediately, the other waits a bit, etc. It’s so cool! They could legit have their own personalities!)

And don’t even get me started on what we did to rats! I understand they mostly likely started the Bubonic Plague and therefore, were associated with disease and uncleanliness. But what do you expect when they travel on merchant ships (which at the time, were horrendously filthy) and in the modern day, are found in big cities that are known for being filthy? That’s humans’ fault! Rats are just going where the food is (same for raccoons and foxes.) They’re actually very clean animals who groom themselves regularly. They also are extremely intelligent and need to be stimulated by having a friend with them since they can form lasting attachments very easily. I love rats so much and I would love to get a pet rat but they only live for 4-5 years so I know I wouldn’t be able to take the grief when they die so soon. There are SO many more animals I could talk about (and I might eventually) that we did so dirty. Sorry this was so long I just have so many thoughts and I love animals so much and I hate the way they’re treated. Not expecting anyone to really read this tbh I just needed to get my thoughts out. Basically, these sweet animals deserve so much better.

DS9 S3 E2 - The Search Part 2

This episode was MUCH better. I mean, there were several parts that pissed me the fuck off but they were very much intended to so I'm not holding that against the show. The writing and acting did what they were supposed to lol

The BIG reveal was obvious to me the second Odo became obsessed with a random planet/part of space but part of me was wondering if they were as terrifying as everyone implied. People become legends, stories passed on to make them more terrifying than they really are so that no one would bother them, etc.

I do know the Dominion are the "bad guys", at least for a while, but the distance the Shifters had with Kira and the way they implied they had been hunted, I briefly assumed that something would happen to Odo's people and the Jem'hadar would take over or something else just as tragic. But it became clear by their weird standoffish-ness that my first idea of them being the bad guys was right.

Odo made up for his nonsense from the previous episode in this one and it was kinda cute to watch how he reacted to being a vulture for a while, but I haven't 100% forgiven him. I understand that they programmed something in him to return "home" so he couldn't avoid some of it but he didn't need to be as whiny as he was before even getting to the Gamma Quadrant.

Also, Kira talking to nothing was adorable. While the whole crew was technically on the planet with them, I'm honestly glad it was Kira that got to experience Odo's first time interacting with his people given they're relationship. I still don't see how those two can ever become romantic (since I know its a thing in the future) because they're the bestest of buds to me, though.

I didn't pick up on the fact that it was a simulation but it was super obvious that something was up. It was too neat and tidy that Jadzia and Miles found them all the while the Founders were supposed to be making a treaty with the Federation? That and how all the Federation folks that weren't part of the Defiant crew were acting super suspicious? I thought it was some kind of telepathic mind control, tbh. I mean Admiral Nechayev is terrible all the time in a very "The Federation always knows best" kinda way. She believes far too much that name dropping the Federation alone will do the job so it took a moment to notice her shit was off but everyone else was definitely up to no good.

I am glad we got more of TRul, I was worried they killed her after the Defiant battle. And I like how while she was clearly pissed at the Federation for locking the Romulans out of the treaty when shit hit the fan she ran directly for Sisko, someone she at least somewhat trusted.

Hell, I like it when all the crew turned to Sisko when shit got to be too much. When Miles was attacked for no reason and when Jadzia got a note of her transfer. Or when (imaginary) Garak turned to Sisko cause he too noticed that it was all way too much. He's obviously their Commander so the one in charge as far as they're concerned but they trust so much they were willing to risk their jobs (and lives) to defy Starfleets orders.

Sisko's speech in the office over the fact that the treaty was super unbalanced and a bunch of bull shit was perfect, as his speeches tend to be. I love me a good monologue and he once again nailed it.

I 100% supported Sisko shutting down the wormhole and I'm glad the others were, too, even if it did make me wonder how Kira and Odo got back. I love that Garak was the one that kinda lit the spark under Sisko to do it though.

And when Garak got shot? And for half a second Bashir had to fight the urge to grab him/stay with him before running? My gay heart.

Anyway, solid episode, I'm glad this one was much better than the last one.

Reasons I think Brazil would have no problems with a zombie apocalypse

Based on a conversation me and a friend had a few months ago (maybe last year)

1. Cemeteries

Okay. First off- we're used to seeing zombie movies taking place in the US, right? And from all the movies I've seen, american graves are like a hole on the ground?? And of course the fellas would crawl out easy (they'd still have to get out of the casket but we'll imagine they managed that already

Now, I don't know 'bout all of my fellow brazilians but all of the many funerals I've been to, when they lower a casket they put a few concrete slabs above it. Now- let us think

Its hard enough for a zombie to crawl out of the wood, but then move concrete slabs??? And then we have these bad boys:

Those things above the grave surely would make the zombies be stuck for a while, right??? I've seen alive people struggle to move those lids-

And I took plenty of walks through cemeteries to know that the zombies would be having a HARD time navigating through those bitches. They're all uneven?????? I trip all the time and have fallen more than once and I'm alive enough to calculate my steps

Also. Gates. Never seen a brazilian cemetery without gates. But lets say the zombies do get through, so now we move onto subject 2;

2. Temperature

I'm sorry but you CANNOT tell me that a zombie would make it through the Brazilian weather!!! Not a way in hell

I can barely make it through the heat of here, a dead person would not!!! Never!!!

They be far beyond decomposed as soon as they manage to get out of their graves, with how hot this place is. Sure there are the colder places and the ines that rain, but that'd also not help?????

Without a beating heart to keep the body warm, that shit will freeze. They'd be so fucked down ere on the South tbh, especially high places

And lets say they are from somewhere rainy. The zombies are already decomposing and being rained on??? Just?? They'll be falling apart by the time they reach the road

But okay. The virus keeps them from decomposing at normal speeds. Next:

3. Critters

Tell me the sheer amount of street dogs would not be eating that free meat up, I dare you. Not a word about our caramelos, they're the biggest help 🐕

They'll be fighting over that amount of food. Sure the zombies may walk but they're too slow and there are simply Too Many strays everywhere?? Sometimes they even walk around in gangs

And that's not to say bout the other nasty fellas like my big boys: vultures. They'll be so happy- and everywhere there's vultures. They'll feast✨️✨️✨️ but also flies

Moscas. They'll be everywhere but putting their larvae on the zombies will sure help them decompose????? I hope??????????????????????????????? Anyway, if none of that works:

4. Walls

Unlike all photos, videos and movies of American houses I see, we have walls protecting ours. A giant variety of them with many ways to keep people out

I cannot believe a zombie would go up a 3 meter high wall with glass shards on top and barbwire that Zenaide and José built 40 years ago because there was one (1) single break in in the city around that time. Nuh-uh

And there's the ones with all of that AND electric fence on top. We live inside prisons of maximum security just so we don't get robbed

The zombie's not getting past our defenses!!!!!! And if they do.

5. Bars on every window and door

My house has them. Every single window, even the bathroom ones. And both of our doors, too.

A lot of houses have them in addition to the high ass prison walls. Sure they may get past the walls but I want to see them try and get inside the house.

6. Zombies are slow

This one depends but mostly, they really are slow- so you'd have time to prepare, I guess??? Could even still go to work?? If your vejicle is fast enough???

I can very well see a scenario where everything keeps happening but we just act like the zombies are a minor nuisance like- oh yeah I guess I'll go to João's birthday party yeah. They built a new wall and gate :/ hard to see which houe is it oh uh oop there it is! The one with the ugly graffiti :D just lemme go through here- yep- gotta outrun Seu Jorge here-

7. Hygiene

We do have the fame of being very clean so the disease would be very less likely to spread (i hope). And in line with my prior point, if we still work there'll still be clean water and food and what not

8. Roads

The stupid ass infrastructure of this stupid ass country is shit. The ground is uneven as all hell and there's no accessibility almost at all

You tell me if a dead person can walk through here without falling- they can't. Just can't.

We literally have anniversay parties for holes on the road if they stay there long enough, you cannot come here and think that a zombie will be able to navigate through without eating the ground first

9. Big ass country

10. Day-to-day life is already a struggle

What? We already have to walk around with wide eyes and cluthing our stuff close or someone could just snatch it away

What is walking just more alert so you're not bitten??? I mean, its nothing too big. A zombie is better than two guys in a motorbike anyway

I for one already walk around like everyone can and will eat me if they have the chance, so upping the game up to creatures that actually will eat me is not that big of a step.

However, once you found a safe place to camp, you all agreed it would be much needed. It was your night for watch duty, so as everyone went to bed, you began looking around the camp's perimeter. It was dark, cold, and damp here but not unbearable, to say the least. The fire nearby kept you warm enough, and you loved an opportunity to learn more.

As you looked at all the flora around you, you came into contact with a fascinating flower. A light blue glow surrounded the petals, and it smelled sweet. Smiling, you picked the three closest flowers and brought them to the camp to be examined. You had never seen anything like them, and they were beautiful. As the night progressed and you noted these attractive flowers, a groggy Gale woke for his turn on guard duty.

You heard him from his tent as he cursed because he couldn't conjure his cup of tea. You laughed at his antic and continued your writings. However, his cursing and voice grew more irritated by the minute. Standing, you walked over to him to ask what was wrong with the flowers in hand. As soon as you crossed the threshold of his tent, you could see the man's disarray. When his eyes met yours, the flowers in your hand seemed to fall into place. Gently, he took the flowers and began explaining how these flowers would, in fact, prohibit any magical use for anyone in its radius.

You laughed sheepishly and took the flower back from him. You left quickly and disposed of the new flower, sad to see something so pretty be detrimental to your friends. As you came back, Gale was observing your drawings. When you sat next to him, he smiled and began to tell you everything he knew about the flower, hoping to make up for it having to be sent away. With a smile on your face and a spring in your step, you wrote all you could leaning against Gales's shoulder the whole time.

After a particularly long day helping around the hotel, you were exhausted, to say the least. From Angel's antics to Alastor's creepiness, you didn't have much more steam in you. Even though you were the resident chipper person, only being surpassed by Charlie, you felt your patience grow thin, especially today. Changing into a comfortable set of PJs, you made your way to the lounge.

Curling up on the sofa, you flipped the TV on in hopes of finding something interesting. After minutes of flipping, you finally find a horror channel. It is interesting for hell that they only have one horror channel, but you would take it. After getting repositioned, you began watching the show and enjoying all the details. As engrossed as you were, you didn't notice your partner, Vaggie, joining you on the couch. Her thigh brushed your leg as she sat down, causing you to yelp.

Vaggie laughed gently at your reaction, holding her hands up in defense. As soon as you realized who it was, you calmed down and smiled at her. Now, this was a far better way to end the day. Your beautiful partner and a good horror flick. Repositioning on the sofa where your head lay in Vaggie's lap, you retrain your eyes on the TV. As you both grew more engrossed in the horrors on the screen, you didn't happen to notice the smiling demon standing in the dark corner, ready to pounce for his own amusement.

Hello!! I saw ur requests were open for a matchup and I’d love to do one! I will ask for no Valentino because he makes me very uncomfortable.

I’m an AFAB genderfluid aspec bisexual (he/she/they) and an ESFJ 2W1 Leo. I’d consider myself very loud and obnoxious at times but that’s just how I am tbh. Despite me being overwhelming at times I dedicate most of my time to my friends by buying them things and giving all the emotional support I can even if it isn’t reciprocated because some people just need an extra bit of support. I’m a bit of a pushover at times and need a lot of reassurance in my actions because I’m typically pretty overdramatic and sensitive at time.

I have a ton of hobbies, most are art related! I spend most of my time binge watching the same horror movies and analyzing the characters in them and their motives. I often like to make props and do sfx makeup but I paint, draw, do digital art, knit and make jewelry in my free time as well! As long as it keeps my hands and mind busy I’m occupied for hours. I’m a big fan of horror and creepy things like vulture culture (collecting bones) and more specifically my fav movies are Texas chainsaw masacre part 2 and house of 1000 corpses.

I typically wear pretty relaxed clothing like flannels and t shirts and shorts, I don’t really ever get dressed up but when I do it leans more on the gothic side outfit wise, but I’m a sucker for sparkly blue eyeshadow and a light pink lip! I love fashion and makeup and designing outfits and makeup looks despite never really wearing anything of the sort out. I love experimenting with fun colors and seeing what works best.

My main love languages is physical touch and acts of service, no matter how close I am with someone I will get them gifts but it takes me a while to be physically affectionate with someone but once I am comfortable enough I will never want to let go and will want to hold the person at all times!

As Velvette can be very loud and obnoxious herself, she'd be fine with you being similar. However, if she's really not in the mood she'd likely tell you to be quieter.

I feel like Velvette would really appreciate you giving her emotional support. She's always stressed out by the other Vees, so she'd genuinely thank you for that.

Velvette is typically overdramatic herself, so I doubt she'd notice if you were as well. Yet, if you needed reassurance, she'd give you some. Maybe it's not the typical type of reassurance, but in a way, Velvette's feels more genuine.

Due to Velvette being in the fashion industry, she'd really appreciate any form of art related skills. You'd often have her call you to do sfx makeup for her models for different photoshoots as well. She'd likely try and convince you to draw out her ideas to help her visualise outfits for her career, but she'd occasionally draw things for you!

I see Velvette as someone very intrigued by horror and the like, albeit having a tendency to over-critique movies. So, if you were to ever watch a horror movie with her, she'd 100% be judging the special effects.

If you were going out in public with Velvette, she'd make you get dressed up. Otherwise, I don't think she'd mind you wearing relaxed clothing, as long as the colours don't clash. ugh this is a tough one. (especially since i know that some of MY headcanons directly contradict some of yours oops)

honestly? my big one is i think everyone is wrong about the Knight's name. "ghost" is.... fine, i guess, and i suppose it's cute that it comes from Hornet, but i don't think its a name they would pick for themself if they had the chance to choose. i also recognize that i don't exactly have a good replacement name for them, so i'll probably keep calling them ghost because i know people will recognize it, but i do think that "The Knight" is much closer to what they'd pick for their name, if they ever decided to choose.

i don't know if i'd consider it the worst, really, but it's very interesting to me how everybody and their dog latched onto Grimm. we know hardly ANYTHING about him other than that he's apparently drawn to dying kingdoms to feed on the fears and nightmares of the dead and reincarnates periodically through a ritual that involves at least SOME measure of violence, and everyone makes him EXTREMELY sexy and usually quite sympathetic and like. believe me, i understand the urge to make tall skinny bug hot and likeable but i just don't think there's any canon basis for those interpretations of him. i think at best he is an ambiguous and mysterious figure, and less generously, a bit of an opportunistic vulture, tbh.

to be clear; i LIKE blorbo grimm! i like him a LOT! but i do think he is the character who has been most fanon-ized out of any of the hollow knight cast.
