Edit since a lot of people seem confused - your "real" name is the name that you want to be referred to in real life. It doesn't have to be your legal name. So if you're trans and you have a different name to whats on your birth certificate, even if not many people call you by the name, it still counts as your real name.

The Stand-in Job

Danny loved his job. It was an easy on call job he got rather on accident. But it paid well and gave him enough time to deal with ghost matters outside of scheduled work hours.

Though now he got stuck in a situation his Boss had not provided him with a script and or explanation how to behave for.

Danny was a simple Stand-in. Sort of like a Stuntman kind of job. His boss was paying him to simple take his place during public appearances, or meetings with no big decision he has to sit through just to listen. Or on the easiest of days, to just sit in his boss office so it appears that someone is there while his boss was doing who knows what. Danny doesn't question, that's why his boss liked him.

But again, no where in his contract was described how he was supposed to handle this situation. So now he was stuck having beat up a couple of wannabe kidnappers and some vigilantes talking to him all casually going on and on how 'Tim', his boss, wasn't supposed to do that to not risk his public image. Should he record this as evidence for his Boss? It sounded like these vigilantes were spilling some of his boss' secrets that shouldn't be known to the public.

Tim just needed someone to sit in his place to make it appear like he was there when he had cases to work through. Danny was the perfect hire for it and Tim liked very much that Danny doesn't ask questions, like he understood. Yet when Danny sent him a text questioning how he should behave as Stand-in in front of Gotham's vigilantes.... Tim wasn't sure if he should feel offended or highly amused about his siblings not realizing that the one kidnapped in public hadn't been Tim but his Stand-in Danny.

I really do think a lot on Edwin’s very serious declaration of never letting the two of them get separated after Charles shows concern about it in episode 1, and it’s abundantly clear that he’s just as protective of Charles as Charles is of him. However, due to the kinds of situations they ended up in during season 1, Edwin fell a lot more into the role of the one who needed protecting, which is why I really badly want to see Edwin have a moment in season 2 where he protects Charles or saves them from being separated again, through clever words maybe, or his spell books.

I just desperately want some kind of follow through on the ferventness of his “I will never let that happen” because with the conviction of that line, god I believe it, but do I ever really want to see it too

me: The Summoning's "raise me up again" is in direct contrast to Drag Me Under's "drag me under again" and shows an immense amount of growth between the two points in the narrative, for him to go from singing "drag me [...] deep into your love" to "take me past the edge / I want to see the other side" shows that he no longer wishes to drown and wallow in the toxicity of this situation and now wants to move past it and see what lies beyond and in this essay I will-

Loooooong moon that i started making in August and only finished now (1st October)

So long, in fact, that i have actually split this page in half since typing this bc it was Bothering Me (and wouldn't upload to comicfury, so enjoy a small bonus moon update coming shortly)

I think the break was good for me bc I'm a lot happier with the characters and anatomy on this moon c:

Colours in the first panel are a paintover/photobashed from a sunset I took on my phone, but I like how it turned out

Lilac has a bow tie in game, but that's... that can't happen he's a 300kg+ sabercat not a domestic kitty

Snares will mess u up though! I had to do a lot of research and I did fudge some things (woven artifacts don't preserve very well) but hopefully it's clear Lilac can't get his head around to bite it without swinging+ claws are actually terrible for slicing (especially Homotherium ones which are only semi-retractable and therefore dull)

idk what anymore i just think about slider's habit of wrapping an arm around ice's shoulder a lot. like imagine sometimes he just subconsciously do it; even when he's talking to someone else, reading a newpaper, listening to music. he just keep an arm around ice like that. and imagine this as well; they go on a summer vacation and spend a lot of time at the beach; they are both sunburnt when they comeback for sure, but there's a spot on ice's shouder that remains untouched.

the shape of that spot looks weirdly like an arm, one that the whole academy knows is slider's.

however, ice remains clueless about that spot himself, and is confused whenever mav or goose giggles when he sees ice's bare back exposed.

I made a linocut from sketch to carved in one day

The other day, I sat down to work at 2:30pm, feeling guilty about starting my work day so late. I got into the flow state for the first time in a while though, and next thing I knew, it was almost 11. In two sittings (took a break to eat dinner), I went from sketch to totally carved print.

It got me thinking about how I always feel guilty for starting later in the day, although I still do plenty of work. It's not like there's anything wrong with having a schedule that's not 9-5, especially when my most productive hours are mid-afternoon. Also I know I shouldn't feel like I need to do 8 hours of work daily, but hey that's what I get for growing up with a workaholic dad.

But more so it made me a bit introspective about the whole process of artmaking. Like, in the span of about 8 hours, I created something that otherwise wouldn't exist. It's such a basic but overwhelming idea. That I sat down, took an idea I had, and made it into something physical. I often think about why I make things- because I love the process of printmaking and learning- but I don't often think about the bigger picture of being able to transform something as abstract and far from reality as a thought into something that can be observed, held, and shared. Even trying to put the feeling into words doesn't feel like it can do it justice. It feels like something ethereal, made more amazing by the idea that anybody can create something. I guess it makes perfect sense that something so foundational to being a human would also make me feel so connected to myself and the universe.

Anyway, here's the linoleum carving and it printed on fabric and newsprint :)
