jayvik post canon revival where they have a soul bond but they wake up separated. viktor hides himself but he can't push jayce all the way out of his head. the push and pull of having each other so close but not being physically together, not being able to hold. jayce desperately trying to find viktor, even amongst all the other duties and chaos surrounding the end of the war.

jayce wakes up alone in the ruins of the hex gate. he comes to groggy and disoriented but he's searching immediately, always, for viktor. comes up empty. but he doesn't doubt for a second that viktor lives, that he came through the other side with him, because jayce can feel him, an undeniable presence in the back of his head. a thrumming warmth that cannot be fully hidden, even though viktor is obviously shuddering himself away. he pokes and prods at the connection relentlessly, screaming inside their heads, pulling and tugging for any kind of reaction. begs, pleads - don't do this again. don't run away again. don't shut me out.

#slow burn fic of both of them relearning how to live in a society after seeing the once inevitable death of it all at their hands #jayce searching continuously for viktor tugging at their bond the whole time #slowly slowly getting him to loosen the clamp and open up- to talk to him #but viktor is so careful with what he shares. never the barest impression of where he is or what he's doing #nothing that could lead jayce to him #until overtime it starts to unspool - little things here and there. little moments where things feel normal again #one or two dramatic moments where jayce almost finds him. where something happens and viktor pulls away again #finding each other eventually and its a final moment of relief of sliding home of two halves finally becoming a complete whole #idk idk im just a sucker for the slow burn post canon healing vibes #viktor thinking he has to do this alone meanwhile jayce is climbing the walls and trying to hack their connection to geolocate him asap #arcane #jayvik #i think about them a normal amount <- lying #fic rambles

#i think zhongli is just weak to sincerity #and since childe is such a mess whenever anything comes out of him it's usually on accident and unpracticed and like. clumsy #since he's not good at articulating his thoughts #so it just comes across as the most sincere shit he could say bc he wasn't even planning on saying it #and the awkward unrefined nature of it all just makes it seem all the more spontaneous and raw #i think zhongli's just been too overexposed to adepti and loyal followers who think very hard about what they want to say to him #so they like- practice their words bc god forbid you say something dumb to rex lapis #and he himself thinks his words through a lot before he says anything if he even says anything at all #he's mostly overly verbose when he's explaining something or sharing knowledge. i think the fandom tends to forget that #so childe just coming up and blurting out his feelings on accident is like. very new #like he's only ever seen that on little kids way way back when. and even then #so it kinda just tugs at his heartstrings i think #and since it's not coming from a kid but from a regular guy #like he said- it's charming
