Today is the 6th anniversary of ff15 and I have to say, I just love all the beautiful heartfelt post and artwork underneath the ff15 tag.

This game holds a special place in my heart being that this is the first final fantasy I've ever played and finished. I would always rave about ff15. I remember when I first got the game and I was hesitant to play it because I don't usually play "heavy base games" such as final fantasy but after watching the walk through of ff13, I said that the first ff I would get to try out would be ff15 and 6 years later, this game still is one of my favorites.

There's so much to do in this game and places that I still haven't explored yet lol.

Lastly I want to say that even after 6 years, the fandom is still as lively as ever.

Summer Reading/Writing/Arting Tag!

1) Describe one creative WIP project you’re planning to work on over the summer. Just one! *looks over to the list I have of current WIPs…* Ummmm… ok I’m in the early drafting of a new FFXV fic, it’s an OC fic, still currently untitled. My OC - Violet - is twin sister to Gladio, she is set to inherit the title of Marshal from Cor, so he trains her a lot more than most others. There are 2 main relationships that I’m going to be including in this fic, the first is OC x Nyx (I was going to do this as an OC x Ignis fic but I find it far easier to write Iggy as a friend) and Cor x Titus Drautos. Titus is going to be a major character in the story for various reasons (but not the main one that FFXV fans know him for, this version of Titus is not going to be Glauca, I have a lot of plans for that 😉)

2) Recommend a book. I must admit I haven’t read a book for ages! I need to start on Dawn of the Future, I might read that this summer 🤔 so I will recommend, The Stolen Throne, by David Gaider, I always seem to end up recommending this, but it’s so good! I really enjoyed reading it, it’s a Dragon Age novel but I think, it could be read by non Dragon Age fans, it’s a prequel to the main game series

3) Recommend a fic! Winter’s fics, both In The Midst of Winter and An Invincible Summer are absolutely amazing Skyrim fics, and the latter is one of the few I’m currently up to date with, the only other I’m currently up to date with is Twin Of The Chosen King, by rosapagina on AO3 it’s an OC x Nyx story that I’m really enjoying right now! I would love to recommend more and the lovely people I’ve tagged to play this game all have great stories and I wish I could recommend all of them, honestly, there are such talented people writing fan fics right now!

4) Recommend music! Hey I’m going to be predictable! The soundtrack for Final Fantasy 15 is absolutely incredible, it has so much variety, it goes from really quiet and emotional strings and piano (Somnus - Instrumental) all the way up to metal and disco/rave stuff, it’s stunning!

5) Share one piece of advice! If you don’t have inspiration to write, don’t force it! Otherwise it will turn out bad and it will annoy you, trust me, the last month has proven that to me

Ok, so my younger bro had been raving about wanting a PS4 pro so he could play at 60fps. Not that I mind or care, but srsly after realizing better visuals during the game (I have been a backseat gamer and I dont intend to quit lolz dont hate me ok) I figured that he should really buy the unit so we could watch game cinematics with better frame rates and lesser frame rate drops yay. So after waiting for around 2 months to buy the unit (weirdly there had been a scarcity of the consoles in the PH, or at least in MLA and here in the province like srsly do the Sony guys think some people can’t buy? gah.) he finally got his paws on one. Now he  says he could play most of his RPG’s with better visuals. And as a person who also likes visuals I had to admit that some of his games do look a lot more fluid now. More stuff to copy and turn ito my art models kekekeke

Prior to that, I have been egging younger bro to buy FFXV because it looked so good with the trailers. But seriously I just wanted to watch a bunch of bros doing bro-ey stuff for a change (apparently they’re called CHOCOBROS srsly only in tumblr lolz). I even got into the Kingsglaive trailer which was srsly tugging so much at my feels. Well after waiting for a few months he finally did, and only did so because he already got the console that would give justice to the beautiful world (and people kekeke) of that game, but alas not the one with the free movie blue ray because other people had em first XD Well either way he got his console, his game, and some DLCs and timed quests and all that jazz so I’m like, ok I’m on board this trip now yay. 

 Moving on to the pores.. I affectionately call FFXV as Final Fantasy Pores because of the lovely details in the cinematics: Prompto’s freckles, Noct’s crinkles, Gladdy’s pores and of course, dearest Iggy’s wrinkles and specs. And also teh KingsGlaive movie (srsly my feels, RIP Nix, and old King Reggie. Just when I thought Square Enix’s hair game just couldn’t get any better, now comes this thingamabob with all the skin details I could ever want. And the hair too. I mean really, now aside from having to learn Cloud’s hard to render hair (please see pic, I mean, really, how can that hair be drawn? I cry)

now i have to include the wrinkles and pores and scars and freckles (and spoiler alert: more scars T^T) apart from learning how to draw freaking hair and fur. But not that I mind,at least now I have something to look forward to.

Speaking of Chocobros, don’t even get me started on Brotherhood, like srsly my younger bro has been playing this game for around a month now and haven’t watched Brotherhood, meanwhile I already watched the subbed version around 3x already because Nihongo Ignis. (OK so I’m weak against anime guys who can cook, wear glasses, intelligent, and seemingly have all of their shit together. If that’s not a good ideal, idk what is.) Srsly. Especially ep4 (spoiler alert, baby people abound in Brotherhood. Spazz at your own risk. I know I did.). I’m just trying hard not to spoil anything to my bro, or else I won’t hear the end of it. So for now, I keep all that spazzing to myself. XDD

Uwaah, apparently younger bro got bored with Chapter 13, he’s gonna wait for the update next week, so I guess i’m on a diet rn. *sad* Oh well, hopefully with the Chapter 13 updates comes the Gladdy DLC and another update with playable Gladdy and Iggy *yay even tho you’re blind I heart you yay*. I should prolly keep that to myself... Or not. Srsly Spazzing on that idea.

OK, I guess that’s all about my ranting. Please don’t hate me, but yes if you think an oldie such as my self is laughable on that account, sure I’ll let you laugh. It’s not like its gonna hurt me. Besides, after watching two Super Show concerts and seeing reaaaaly old ladies and gents watching with the younger ‘uns, I don’t see anything weird or lol in that at all. Just respect to the oldies who can appreciate the younger generations. And I hope to be a cool grandma like them too. Because we need cool old people nowadays. To end this word vomit of a post, here is an Ignis holding up a skewerful of meat, good thing my younger bro (and prolly Prompto-chan) likes taking screencaps every so often. I don’t even like barbecued skewers but if he’s the one giving me a free taste because he has “come up with a new recipeh”, I say “Why not, babe?”

HI THIS IS YOUR LOCAL GARBAGE GAY BOY AND HE WANTS TO VENT ABOUT KINGDOM HEARTS

A couple of days ago i had an enligtening talk about my favorite hot garbage series with a mutual and i kind of ended up realizing i had a lot of pent up stuff about it that i never really let out

While i did vent a little already i feel like i need to put this really out of my head because it’s been consuming me in a way. And since this site is designed for just screaming random stuff into the void i wanna take advantage of that for once

Now first and foremost this is meant as a very personal thing. This is not an elaborate critique or a well thought work. This is a vent and i want this to be read as a vent by a gay with a lot of feelings about video games. ESPECIALLY about Kingdom Hearts and some stuff about KH3. 

Now let’s get to the meat of this course of mind screaming

I’ve been into Kingdom Hearts for a very long time. The first game i played was Kingdom Hearts II (the original KH was kinda hard to find here for some reason) circa 2005/2006. Bear in mind i had no idead what KH was. Game advertisement wasn’t (and still kind of isn’t) a big thing here in Brasil specially if you were a poor kid like me. Hell consoles were pretty inacessible to most of the people i was close with and me and other 2 kids must’ve had a PS2 in the same time frame. The main way you would know about new or cool games was through word of mouth or recognizing brands like Castlevania and Mega Man. 

But i was always kind of a freaky little avant-garde child which meant i ended up having a very different taste from most of the people around me. I had like 1 other friend who had actually played a Final Fantasy around let alone something like Shin Megami Tensei for an exemple which i also didn’t even knew was a thing. And i’ve always tried to find something new. Something that gave me some new experience. I’ve ended up playing a lot of more niche games like Drakengard and the Atelier Iris games (god i still love 2 and 3 a lot) and it was this mindset that eventually led me into the game that had a bunch of random anime kids and disney characters in it’s cover.

To say that i was confused by KH2 is an understatement. I knew absolutelly nothing about the previous games. Who is this “Sora”? Who was the red haired man? Why the fuck am i fighting with a giant key? Again what the hell is up with the Disney characters? Also bear in mind i must’ve been 9/10 yo brazillian kid whose entire english vocabulary came from video games and a couple of songs. Some stuff wasn’t even the plot getting dense it was just me not getting the actual language. 

And yet it’s also an understatement to say the i fell very deeply in love with that weird little game. The combat was great. The plot had SO MUCH DRAMA and i knew only about 1/3 of what was happening at any given time. Keyblades where fun and ridiculous. Demyx was a bitch.

As soon as i’ve finished KH2 for the first time i used what little internet i had back then to learn more. I found out there was a game for the easy emulated GBA. It kind of sucked but it was more Kingdom Hearts. Being unable to locate a copy of KH1 for a while i did the only thing i could actually do: i’ve played and replayed KH2 to exaustion. I did most of the stuff except a couple of the minigames and gummy routes because they where boring. The feeling of learning how to fight against Sephiroth, mastering his moves and eventually being able to beat him with a Kingdom Key in proud was a big moment for me. Beating all the Hades cups felt great.

About a year later i was able to get a copy of KH1 and by this time Re:CoM was out so i got that too. Played both of them throughly even thought KH1 clumsy mechanics kick my ass to this day probably.

Then another year passes i hear two new games where coming out... to consoles i didn’t own and honestly i couldn’t justify the cost of to my parents. I was pretty bummed but still i kept getting invested. Hell i was already balls deep into this series and only dreamed of how it would take off in the future. I even remember kind of writing a “script” for a sequel that i tried to make with two other randoms in RPG Maker. Never went anywhere and i know in my heart it sucked but still. That was how into this i was. The prerelease hype for Days was killing me even. Member XIV? How?

Also side note: to my edgy ass 12/13 year old self the idea of playing as Organizattion XIII was literally a dream. 

Days came out and if you where like me in the good old days of youtube videos that had like 5 minutes at max then you know that video game let’s play were almost impossible to do. I had to get a LOT of info from second hand about what actually happened in Days. Then i ended up getting a “decent” pc and was able to emulate it with absolute WORST frame rate. Still it worked and i was able to know what was happening.

But BBS was a completly separate beast. PSP emulation was basically non-existant when it came out so it actually took me a couple of years to actually play it. I had a friend that had a PSP (and that to this day i feel only got a PSP because i kept raving about it having both a KH game and a Final Fantasy fighting game on it because he was 100% that little shit but that is completly besides any point) and of course he couldn’t lend me because it was pretty expensive around here and that’s a very useless tangent.

Anyway time passes as it must and just as Sora fell deeper and deeper into the realms of sleep i too fell into as much Kingdom Hearts stuff as i could. The complex theories, the AMVs (GOD the AMVs), the plot summaries for games i didn’t play, all that good shit. So for years i’ve built within myself this... tension i shall call. The grand plot momentum that mr Nomura seemed to be building. The misterious indentities the hinted at hidden plots. The nature of stuff that seemed very vague and opaque. And as the new games where released it seemed more and more that they where building blocks into the grand prize: Kingdom Hearts 3.

Now here’s the thing. I don’t 100% agree of the narrative that we waited “13 years” for KH3. I think if you where actually a fan of the series back then then each game in it’s own way seemed to be it’s own event. With that i want to say the while we ALL waited for KH3 for me at least it seemed it needed time to build up. 

Now here’s the thing. Between BBS and DDD being both in consoles i didn’t own and me getting an Xbox 360 (PS3 prices where absolutelly INSANE here) i seemed to drift a bit away from KH. While before i waited for new game releases with baited breath i now found myself very blasé about DDD. I was getting used to it i guess. Also high school came and a lot of stuff started changing. KH felt like a bit too connected to my childhood too i guess. I was still a fan and still loved it to death but KH ended fading away a little for me even if it lighted a fire in me when people talked about it. This must’ve been around 2010.

I think it wasn’t until KH3 was formally announced that it all came back to me. The drive to find and consume and engage with as much of KH lore and theories as possible. Also i didn’t really get into “proper social networks” as a whole until 2012/2013. Weirdo i know. By then consuming these thing was a lot easier. Internet was a lot more acessible. I could just open up a tab of a KH wiki in my phone and read away from there.

And there was this rush y’know. This thing of finally seeing a finish line. Not that actually expected or even wish for KH to end but it was KH3! The big one! And remember the tension i’ve mentioned earlier? It was always kind of present and it ended up skyrocketing during this period. I was already knowledgeable about KH but during this time i was almost a goddamn lore master. I knew the whole gig inside and out. Even the weird shit from DDD. The stuff they added to the collections just kept it going too. As did X/UX (which in my grand KH tradition i too didn’t play but i think most people feel me here).

All a big ball of complex yarn and plot and madness that would SURELLY burst with KH3. After all this time all this tension it would come. Release. Answers.

But to me that was the aspect in which KH3 failed.

Now don’t get me wrong i actually like KH3. Quite a lot. And Nomura did apparently tied up a lot of arcs. The lost are found and saved. Piss Grandpa Xehanort is dead.

But it didn’t release my tension. It didn’t burst it into the magic fireworks and ecstasy. The tension is still here. Hell the tension seems even stronger now.

And a lot of it has to with how KH3 seems to still be hiding so many fucking cards from us. Literally in one case. It was a vague feeling of unceartainty before but when i came through the Sleeping Worlds theory it just RUSHED onto me. The story doesn’t feel complete.

Now this is not the same as FFXV. I have a couple of... harsh opinions about it and it’s plot and story are front and center on the list. That story was absolutelly unfinished but not in the same way. To me it feels like Nomura just HID parts of the story. We are not getting the full picture. A lot of shit is really really REALLY weird. I’m still not over Riku’s sudden haircut.

But here’s the real gag to me. Nier: Automata gave me the same feeling the first time i played it. But then i came upon route B. And then Route C. and that’s when the TRUE game showed itself. Nier kept a lot hidden but it was hidden within itself. If you just keep playing you actually can access those hidden parts and eventually you reach your true goal. The actual ending. An ending so final that you might even like giving up your save data to help somebody else achieve it too is the only true option.

Yet KH3 has no such crowning grace. At least not for now. And that’s half the reason i made this. 

KH3 feels incomplete but in a way i could really love if the game eventually completed itself. Reading the Sleeping Worlds theory i was like “omg this makes VERY much sense. but if it makes so much sense why isn’t it in the game?”. And then it clicked. DLC. It’s 100% possible the actual plot may come as DLC. 

But an even darker thought crossed my mind and it’s filing me with actual rage: This is meant to be another game. This is the Powers That Be (Nomura, Disney, Square-Enix, take your pick...) unaturally extending this “Saga” beyond it’s ending point. If it does turn out that KH3 had some dream hijinks going on then it was 100% possible and BETTER to include that in the actual game. But since KH is known for having so many side games what is the harm in doing another right?

Well you harm the integrity of your plot. I know we say the plot is hot garbage but come the fuck on that is what is holding us here. Or at least it’s what is holding me for so long. Setting up another saga is absolutelly fine but breaking away for you ending like this is even worse. How? Why? The why is probably money but still.

Or maybe KH3 is just meant as that. There is no twist not weirdness. Maybe all that is by design y’know. 

This is long enough already. I’m tired. I started writing this at 2:30 am. It’s about 4am now. I slept very little last night.

This is a big colletion of nothing i guess. Not even sure it helped me. Oh well.

Genuinely being shitty to people over fictional works. I’m sure some people are still familiar with a group of FFXV RP blogs with similar URLs who made it their mission in life to shit on every FFXV RP blog that liked a ship they didn’t like. They still lurk around, but they’re just constantly reviving themselves and then people around them deactivate, constantly trying to hurt people, another url change, and another attempt at a blog. Like some sort of misgrowning hydra, getting weaker by the second, but still popping back to be a massive inconvinience.

I’m not saying ‘if you’re salty’ I be salty all the time, that’s not the thing that’s my pet peeve, I mean I have actual contempt for people so high and mighty acting like tumblr is their platform to preach to the masses about ship toxicity.

Less severe pet peeves? Purple prose. HORRIBLE text formatting. Blogs that I cannot navigate because I can’t figure out which floating speck of dust on your blog ‘aesthetic’ is the goddamn about and rules pages. Horrible OOC headcanon posts to be ‘quirky’, having a bad grasp on your own muse, spamming bullshit I don’t like, Ranting and raving and defending a ship you like, that will get you a nice happy little unfollow from me.

I am quite interested on your HC for Ardyn pulling illusion pranks on Ravus? It just seemed like in Ep. Ignis that it wasn't the first time Ravus caught Ardyn trying to fool him... previous encounters probably weren't as dire...but anyhow, love your take on FFXV characters! 😄

Planning vengeance on your own family can be tiresome from time to time. So Ardyn’s version of ‘letting his hair down’ is messing with Ravus through his illusions.

The first few times Ardyn disguised himself as the council member in charge of meetings. Through that disguise he’ll tell Ravus the time for the meeting has been changed. Poor Ravus has been showing up for those meetings one hour late for days now.

Speaking of meetings, he’ll cast an illusion of snakes slither their way onto Ravus’s lap during that time. Ravus jumping off his seat and the reactions from the councilmen were worth it.

He’ll alternate a bit of his appearance, which threw Ravus off. He’ll be spending the day debating whether Ardyn has been this way this whole time and he is just now noticing it.

He’ll disguise as several people from Ravus’s office, asking if he wants to pitch in money for a co-worker’s birthday. He’ll do it for a couple weeks and uses that money to buy himself a nice fedora.

Ravus has been receiving weird food dishes for dinner as of late. So when he asked the chef the meaning behind this. The chef informed him that he, himself has come to them personally to request these dishes. He suspects it was Ardyn.

Ardyn has used his illusions to change all of Ravus’s pens into crayons. Ravus has received a lot of confused stares whenever he asks to borrow their pen when he clearly has a cup full of them.

Ravus wakes up to find a bunch of rats in his chambers. When he calls for the servants to get rid of them, they inform him that there are no rats in his chambers. Ravus muttered Ardyn’s name as he left.

Ardyn disguised himself as Ravus and told everyone to call him Rave the Brave for now on. Ravus was very confused the following day.

He disguised himself as Lunafreya only once. By telling him in a frantic tone that there’s an abandoned baby in the gardens. When he went outside to take a look, it was the Emperor Aldercapt strolling through the gardens.

Noctis, hands down! Dork Prince, awkward child, sweet boi, ages gracefully (hello older Noct), what’s there not to love?!

Favorite Guest Party Member (including Ravus and Libertus from DLC):

Toss up between Aranea and Ravus because Ravus’ attacks with Ignis are so badass and perfect and seamless and hdjdjdghekkdjd and omg that coat? But Aranea steals my heart because hello have you seen a more badass, sassy, queen of my heart with a kickass attack set? She’s my ultimate girl crush for FFXV ♡

Favorite Minor Character(s):

Dave, I think? He sends us out for dog tags so families can have closure. What a good old lad. Plus points for nice tattoos and cute doggo.

Favorite Villain:

ARDYN. ARDYN. ARDYN. Heck, he might be my fav Final Fantasy villain of all time (sorry Sephiroth). He’s such a nuanced character, with so many different layers and such complexity, you love to hate him but you can’t help but emphatize. Plus he’s so deliciously evil and devious, he just wants to watch the world burn, and can you blame him?! Betrayed by the gods and people he served to become the living scourge. He’s also the most successful villain, achieving everything he set out to do. And his theme song. All 4 versions so far. I could wax lyrical all day about how each reveals different layers of him, from just a creepy stranger danger that’s not quite friend or foe to all out pipe-organ-villain in ep Ignis, but that’s not quite the point of this ask meme is it xD

Favorite Kingsglaive Character:

Nyx :( because he deserved so much better. He’s all rough around the edges in the right places. And I majorly ship him and Luna. Also he’s hot AF and I’m superficial :p

Favorite Astral/Divine Being:

You know what? I don’t like the Astrals. I think they are shit. FIX YOUR OWN GODDAMN MESS, NOCTIS DIDN’T HAVE TO DIE FOR YOUR FUCK UPS (looking at you in particular, Bahamut).

Ok fav divine being? Carbuncle! He’s the cutest little sweetie pie. Give me a million more dream world sequences and Chocobo Moogle carnival pls.

Favorite Character Overall:

Gahhh why do you make me choose?! Toss up between Noctis and Prompto. Can I cheat and just choose Promptis :p

Favorite Weapon:

For stats? Balmung. Because I braved the end-game dungeons for it.

For aesthetics? Sword of the Father. So beautiful, and so much feels tied to it.

Favorite Location:

Wiz chocobo post (this is my inner Prompto speaking) - I love the chocobos!! And chocobo racing!

Favourite Quest/Questline/Hunt:

Gladio’s cup noodle quest. It’s so ridiculously cheesy and horrible that I freaking love it ;D

That or Prompto’s photo tours!

Favorite Boss: 

Errrr this is tough. Tbh FFXV was lacking a little in terms of challenging boss fights, but I’d give this to Leviathan because cinematics baby.

Favorite Monster/Monster Family/etc:

Cactuars cuz they’re cute and hello have you seen how much EXP they give you?!

Favorite Song:

How can I choose just one? I love the entire soundtrack so damn much. Maybe Somnus. Maybe Noctis. Gods, each one makes me cry in their own way. I’m literally obsessed with that masterpiece.

Favorite Boss Theme:

Magna Insomnia. It’s such a worthy crescendo to such a great game.

Favorite Non-Episode DLC/Update/Event:

The Assassin’s Festival because PROMPTIS NERD DATE.

Favorite Episode DLC:

Objectively, Episode Ignis. It was the most polished, gameplay and story wise. Also, CAN WE GET A WHOOP WHOOP FOR ALT ENDING PLS.

Favourite thing to do: rent chocobos and ride them in lakes like the Alsta Slough or Vesperpool. SWIMMING CHOCOBOS ARE TOO CUTE.

Favorite Chocobro: Prompto. To literally no one’s surprise. But my second favorite is probably Ignis. I just love his personality and dedication (and hands)

Oh god. How can I choose? I mean, Iris is a mini badass and her Eclipse attack is probably the most badass thing ever, but Aranea is fucking flawless and I love her so much.

And she looks so fucking fly in her Crownsguard uniform. Like, I’m not usually into that (or anything, lol) but like… damn. But then there’s also Coctura, who’s a total sweetheart and deserves all the love.

Favorite Villain:

Okay, Ardyn is obvious, so Imma choose another. It’s either Drautos/Glauca because HOLY SHIT THAT PLOT TWIST LEFT ME SCREAMING or Loqi because he’s an adorable little shit and I love his outfit and wanna make it.

Favorite Kingsglaive character: Can I cheat and saw Drautos again? Well, even so, I think I’ll go with either Luna (because she was so badass in this movie holy shit) or Libertus (because his character arc was really nice and HE RAN OVER GLAUCA WITH A FUCKING VAN OH MY GOD)

Favorite Astral/Divine Being:

From a gameplay perspective: Totally Ramuh. He’s a bro, always wants to help you out. “Hey, u having trouble w/ that? Here, lemme smash”. From a story perspective, I really like Ifrit? I like how he used to be humanity’s protector, but they turned against him (sound familiar?), and his relationship with Shiva is just adorable.

Favorite character:

Uhhhhh… Yeah, I’d say Prompto, lol. This pure bean of sunshine and anxiety with soft hair and freckles.

Favorite Weapon:

I mean, the Ultima Blade is pretty sweet, as is the Ring of the Lucii. But as for pure weapons, I gotta say I really like Vigilantes and the Zwill Crossblades because I prefer quick weapons like daggers. But the bazooka is also really nice. I just suck at aiming.

Favorite Location:

I mean, Altissia is REALLY pretty. but from a gameplay perspective, I liked Zegnautus Keep because so much happened there, and it was so plot-driven. Even if the section itself was so repetitive I wanted to bang my head against the MT holding cells.

Favorite Quest/Questline/Hunt

The Hunters of Legend quest line, definitely. I just love how hype everyone in the game was about it, and then it turned out o just be a sales pitch. Bless these naive boys. But there were also some great weapons in there, so…. hey. Not a total loss.

Favorite Boss:

Oh shit. Probably Leviathan. It was really fun to turn into a nigh-unkillable god to fuck her up real good. Even if Luna did die and Ignis did go blind… Just a really pivotal moment in the game that I really enjoyed.

Favorite Monster/Monster family/etc.

Hmmmmmmm… The anaks were really cute. I tend to enjoy peaceful animals that don’t attack unless you do. But thanks to @freaky-trickster ’s fic, I know also have a soft spot for spiracorns.

Favorite song: Valse di Fantastica, without a doubt. Maybe this is just the ballroom dance nerd in me talking, but a moderately paced syncopated waltz? Sign me the fuck up. I just imagine Noctis dancing this with (Prince) Prompto and I feel so warm and fuzzy inside. Plus, it’s somehow peppy but with a lingering morose undertone and I just love it????

Favorite Boss Theme:

Raves Aeterna  - First off, it’s a great boss battle, but the music just elevates it to another level. The mix of rock instrumentals, strings, and brass just fits together strangely well, and it’s so sad and yet rockin’, it’s amazing.

Favorite Non-Episode DLC/Update:

Assassin’s Creed, no doubt. It’s basically a long Promptis date and you can’t convince me otherwise. Plus, Prompto gets some loving from total strangers and the babs get to dress up. And you get to take Loqi down. Double plus.

But then Comrades was so addicting I beat the game in 30+ hours in just like four days, and they had a crafting station, and I’m addicted to crafting in games. It’s a real problem.

Favorite Episode DLC:

I loved them all? Gladio’s was just plain fun, with some seriously epic music, Prompto’s was great because he developed his character, and we learned a little more about Niflheim and the MT’s, and Ignis’ gave us more story, more angst, and a second ending that I really enjoyed.

Other Favorites of Note:

I have so many characters to cosplay from this, or make cosplay for. At the very least, I am doing all of Prompto’s outfits (including older Prom), Ardyn, and Accursed!Luna, but I also wanna make Luna’s Kingsglaive outfit, her casual white dress, a Prince!Prompto outfit, as well as Loqi’s armor, the Assassin’s Creed outfits, and my Comrades character’s outfit, so…. so I have a long way to go. XD

I also just love this game so much. It’s the entire reason I bought a PS4. It’s the reason I got back into fan fiction (both writing and reading), and gave me a new favorite character to put in my “favorite character hall of fame”.

Okay, so I was tagged by @paixen to list and rave about my 10 favorite characters aND I CANNOT CHOOSE A TOP 10, so I’m just going to write characters as they come to my head, please have mercy on me, also some of you may have seen me rant about some before, okay, here I go

1. Ignis Scientia from FFXV: PLEASE DON’T GET ME STARTED.

2. Emil Castagnier, from Tales of Symphonia 2: OKAY, I really need to rant on this one because Emil is tagged as the third or fourth most annoying RPG protagonist to exist AND WHY. Maybe it’s my over developed sense of empathy, but really I understand his attitude and I LOVE the progress he had across the story. He’s a kid that’s been rejected and mistreated all his life, OF COURSE HE’S SHY AND QUIET AND INTROVERT. Protagonists tend to be all brave and almighty and risky. But introverts? We’re veeery rarely EVER portrayed as the heroes or heroines. Introverts are always the shy bookworm wizard or the quiet sassy sidekick, but never the hero. That’s why I loved his character so much, he’s actually very introvert and shy and very insecure, so of course he sounds “whiny”; they’ve literally thrown him into a risky adventure against his will, of course he’s scared. But then you see him deal with his internal problems, lrean to balance the two sides of him, and he ends up being a SUPER AMAZING HERO, because he wasn’t brave, he LEARNED TO BE BRAVE for the sake of the planet’s safety and well being.

Pus his ending is AMAZING I WAS TEARING UP THE ENTIRE TIME, because holyghsduhatrs, not spoiling but what a sacrifice man, like do you know how many GUTS does it take to accept something like that??? AND THEN WHETHER YOU GET GOOD OR BAD ENDING, HE’S JUST SO SELFLESS AND

INTROVERT PROTAGONISTS FOR THE WIN

3. Tsukasa Futaba or Patrick Sprigs from Megaman Starforce (Ryuusei no Rockman): WHAT IS IT WITH ME AN THE INTROVERT OR MOST HURT OF THE SERIES- *deep breath* This guy. This lovely guy. The poor thing is struggling with literally himself, except it’s not himself. I LOVED his design as Gemini due to the dual personalities like jesus christ, nice thing you did there, writers. I adore his soft, vanilla side because he really is sincere. HE DOESN’T MEAN TO BE MEAN.I feel so bad when he’s refraining himself from doing any harm, it breaks my heart because it’s a DS game and it’s lil avatars but you can see his struggle and- *deep breath* he kills me. He really means to harm to anyone and he’s sefless too, he just- can’t control it. ;____;

4. Fye D. Flowright from Tsubasa Chronicles PLEASE DO NOT GET ME STARTED I WILL NOT STOP HNNFNGFNGF

5. Remus Lupin from Harry Potter, because the man is the most adorable creature to have ever existed, he’s only very scared, he’s insecure, and he only needs to be cuddled and he wants the best for everyone and quiet introvert with love for books and “I’d rather stay home curled under a blanket by the fireplace than go out thank you very much” mood, yessss.

6. Zuko, from Avatar TLA: Ohboi where do I even start. Zuko has one of the best character development in history. He goes majestically from “I am so angered at everyone I will kill you all I only love ME” to “Shit, I was SO WRONG, truth is I was angered at only myself, how do I fix this” with all the steps in between. For a character to realize he’s wrong, that’s one amazing thing. But to go through all stages of it, the ough beginning, the slow realization, the outrage and outbursts of denial, accepting it, crying it, then come to his peace...boi. OH. BOI. Plus, his story has always made me HNFGNGF cause it’s so good. And he’s handsome in the last book. Also firebending = EPICNESS. 

7. I’m trying to pick someone from Final Fantasy Type 0 but most of them are all my babies how do I choose, *eternally sobbing*

8. I am running out of ideas.

9. Death Note’s Light Yagami: because this smartass is so INCREDIBLE. He never- no matter how many times I watch the show (I’ve only done that twice lmao but you get my point) he still mind-blows me. He’s so smart and smooth and sneaky and I hate him so much this bastard I LOVE him. Mamoru Miyano is god in his voice acting, and his latinamerican voice actor did INCREDIBLE and I am hopelessly in love with the voice and the character and one of the best bloody moments is when he’s following this woman around who could easily figure out it’s him, and he keeps staring at his clock and she’s like “Why you looking at your clock so much” and he’s like GIVES THAT EVIL STARE AT HER AND GOODBYE LMAO. Not to say about the moment he’s imprisonated with his MASTERPLAN JESAUSHOLYCHRIST FIRST TIME I SAW THAT I WAS OUT OF MY MIND I HAD TO PAUSE TO SCREAM BECAUSE WOAHMANWHATTHEFUCKTHAT’SEPIC

10. The Maze Runner’s Newt: ....please leave me alone ;____;     *runs away crying*

Chapter 4 (FFXV - In Plain Sight)

What I am about to post is actually a deleted scene from Gladnis - In Plain Sight. It didn’t make the final cut and it’s not finished but it was just dragging on and I couldn't work out a way to move it from one point to the other. I also didn’t like the big time skip - eighteen months compared to six months, the first anniversary compared to the first date. It was also technically hiding from Prompto and Noctis and their moment of fame comes next chapter so I didn’t want to give them too much limelight lol

The original plan was to have Noct on Gladio’s side and Prompto on Ignis’ but then Prompto (bless him) says why can’t you do both. So then the scene would have shifted to the Restuarant then finally picked up at the Cinema but it was getting too long and fillery and there was no context or anything it was just me rambling and forcing them to stay stuff for the sake of it lol. I’m actually happy with the way Chapter 4 worked out, I mean it’s a bit short lol but I like it :D

Oh, fun fact! Touellia is the name of that random restaurant in Altissia in the plaza up from the Secretaries Estate/Square Enix, it’s like a bunch of chairs with a blue bannered fencing around it - it took a while but I managed to angle to camera just right to read the blue banners and Touellia is what it said lol.

It had been over eighteen months since the kiss and exactly a year to the day since they had finally started dating. If Cor had thought anything, nothing was said. When Ignis had arranged the meeting to discuss Prompto they half expected it to come up in conversation, but there was nothing. Not even the smirk Ignis had thought he'd seen, all professional and in Ignis and Gladio's eyes still none the wiser.

With their first anniversary coming up both Ignis and Gladio had different ideas of how to spend it.

"I have tickets to the midnight showing of Crystal Wars: Episode VIII The Last Royal," Gladio said one evening a week before their actual anniversary. They were at Noctis' apartment, Noctis has invited both of them and Prompto over for a movie night. Whilst Prompto and Noctis squabbled over what movie they were watching, Gladio had decided to help Ignis in the kitchen.

"Gladio, movies are not first-anniversary date material," Ignis said stubbornly. "What is, is a candlelit dinner for two at Touellia, the Accordian restaurant on the wharf."

"That is an extremely hard place to get reservations for, at least I had booked this tickets for enough in advance that we actually got VIP seating, free popcorn and free 3D glasses."

"I have reservations, it's amazing what an establishment will do when you dropped your title into a conversation," Gladio didn't know whether to be proud or appalled that Ignis had pulled rank in order to get dinner reservations. Actually, he didn't feel any of those things, he felt jealous. He waved the movie theatre tickets in front of his boyfriends face.

"Come on, you love Crystal Wars. You had all the memorabilia set when you were younger and a Toda the Tonberry bedspread. You also had, if I remember correctly a custom made Crystal Saber."

"Who had a custom-made Crystal Saber?"

"Specs did," Noctis answered Prompto's question as they both sidled up to the counter. Gladio and Ignis glanced at each other. How much had the younger two heard? They weren't exactly public about their relationship, neither of them wanting it to get back to Gladio's dad or Ignis' uncle and had decided against telling Noctis and Prompto for fear of being posted all over social media within five minutes of them telling them. No this sort of relationship was best kept between them and had been for over a year.

"No way dude!" Prompto's eyes widened as he reached over the counter and Ignis braced himself with excuses should the need arise. "You have tickets for the Premier of Episode 8?"

"What! Gladio, you're holding out on me!" Noctis said and Ignis stepped back as Gladio dodged out of the way of the two grabbing hands that tried to take the tickets out of his grasp. "Dude as Prince, you have to take me!" he demanded.

Gladio just laughed and stuffed the tickets in his back pocket. "Er no, that is not in my job description."

"Yes it is, you are to protect me out and about and if I go, you go…"

"You don't have tickets," Gladio pointed out and Noctis pouted.

"Fine, come on Prompto we're going to call people and use political persuasion to get us our own tickets…"

"You will do nothing of the sort," Ignis interjected, pointing a finger towards the Prince. "If you wanted tickets you should have done what everyone else had done to make it fair." Noctis harrumphed and stormed off to his room.

"You're one to talk," Gladio teased in Ignis' ear, Ignis jumped at the proximity of his boyfriend.

"That is for an entirely different reason," Ignis defended.

"What are you two whispering about?" asked Prompto in an equally low whisper. They hadn't realised that he had stayed behind after Noctis had stormed out and so the two sprung apart.

Gladio didn't like look Ignis had just given him, he smiled smugly then turned to their blonde friend.

"Maybe you could help settle something for us Prompto," Prompto had the right idea to look scared, even Gladio was wary of the look Ignis was giving them both.

 Prompto held out his hands. "If this about who taped over the latest episode of MasterChef then I'm sorry, I need space for a Photography Seminar for class…"

Ignis' eyes twitched and Gladio sighed. He shot Prompto a warning glance as Ignis pinched the bridge of his nose.

"That's…" Ignis paused, and Gladio put a tentative hand on his shoulder. He knew how much Masterchef meant to his boyfriend, and to hear that the latest episode he hadn't gotten round to watching yet had been taped over, must be hard on him. There were a few beats of silence as Ignis wrestled with his temper before he finally spoke. "We'll deal with that another time, what we really need is your opinion." He took a deep breath and Prompto looked apologetic, but mustered a small smile. "Gladio here has a date on Friday."

The change in atmosphere was almost laughable. Prompto went from one who was distraught and wracked with guilt to ecstatic and generally pleased. He gasped and clapped his hands together in glee, his wide eyes looking over at Gladio in admiration. Gladio, on the other hand, spluttered, his eyes wide in shock. What was Iggy playing at? He removed the hand that was resting on Ignis shoulder so quickly it was like the other man had given him an electric shock.

"Oooh, who's the lucky girl?" Prompto asked eyes wide and Gladio saw Ignis smirk. "How long?"

"A year," Gladio muttered, not answering the first question and hoping Prompto wouldn't ask again.

"Dude!" A hand shot out over the counter and punched Gladio's shoulder. "You've been dating someone a whole year and you haven't told us!"

Gladio scratched the back of his neck and risked a glance at Ignis, who in turn flashed him a small smile. Gladio knew he was still processing the loss of his TV show, but there was mischief dancing in his eyes. He was up to something and usually when Ignis was up to something it didn't bode well for the other three, least of all Gladio.

"Yes," Ignis said turning Prompto's attention back to him. "He has his reasons I'm sure, however, he plans to take them to the aforementioned movie premier…"

"Wow, lucky!" Prompto's eyes glazed over.

"However I'm trying to convince him that a movie premiere isn't first-anniversary date material," Ignis finished.

Prompto frowned and used his finger and thumb to stroke his chin. "Iggy has a point…"

"However this is a blockbuster movie premiere, all the celebrities will be going," Noctis stood at the doorway to the living area glaring at Prompto. "When I storm away, you're meant to follow," he pouted. Gladio and Ignis shared a glance. "I was halfway to my room, ranting and raving and wondering why you weren't responding."

"Let's just say, Gladio's significant other doesn't care for brown nosing celebrities. They may be a fan of the franchise however they deal with high profile people on a daily basis that attending a premiere doesn't appeal to them."

"Ooh, what does she do?"

Gladio grinned, two could play at whatever game Ignis was playing. Even if Gladio wasn't au fait on the rules, he knew when he was being thrown under the bus. "They're a personal assistant, secretary, general dogsbody, slave type for a spoilt rich brat."

It was Ignis turn to splutter…

I went to the Distant worlds concert in London on Saturday and it was all kinds of amazing. This was my second time travelling to see it and my third time overall and each one have been brilliant.

They did some of my favourite pieces and I cried a few times ngl.  These are some of what they played, not in the right order but just when I remembered each of them, hehe-

It included - Opening - Bombing Mission Cosmo Canyon Aerith’s theme Jenova Complete One Winged Angel Cinco de Chocobo

And there’s probably a few I’ve forgotten to mention; but altogether it was a magical night. Susan and Rikki were resplendent and as always Arnie, the choir and the orchestra were magnificent. I want to go experience it all over again already!

My Opinion on;

Character in general: Seifer is... a special boy. I kid I kid, okay, I have to divulge and tell you the truth actually... when I first got into FFXV, I played the game on my own, but I watched someone who is a big fan of FF games play FFXV as they streamed it on twitch. And they said, in their opinion, FFVIII is one of the bad FF games, and they dislike it a lot. I never played FFVIII, I haven’t played ANY FF games, FFXV is the first FF game in the franchise I actually beat. So, I believed them. So, because of that, I didn’t learn much about FFVIII, I know about the basics, there’s kids, they grow up in Military, Ultimecia is the final boss, ect, I also know the person went on about how they didn’t like Triple Triad. Basically, I came in with NO understanding of FFVIII, other than this persons opinion.Knowing this, understand I really don’t know Seifer in context of his actual base game. I hope someday I get to play FFVIII on my own and form my own opinion. So, I can’t really say I know anything about Seifer in general other than ‘wow, what an asshole’ from the little things I’ve seen on tumblr and youtube.

Also. His theme is straight up a crunk ass rave. Almost as bad as Laguna. Scratch that. Worse than Laguna.

How they play them: Getting that off my chest, I think your portrayal is amazing. I haven’t been approaching anyone for new RPs recently, so I haven’t been able to talk with you guys, or plot extensively, but I like how you brought Seifer into a FFXV setting. I think the extra work goes a long way, and his personality and attitude. I originally had an idea that if I was going to interact with you that Cor was like some reincarnated Squall, or a relative, but you’ve put so much effort into a sensible idea I don’t even have to meet you halfway. There’s a lot of craft and care in it, and I like how much of a loveable dick Seifer can be. I’ll be honest that it’s probably you alone that made me decide I need to form my own opinion on FFVIII and play it myself someday.The Mun: I can’t say we’ve talked much, but you seem cool. Usually I just harass Seifer and for that I apologize.
