WBUR article: ''Dragon Age: The Veilguard' creators on their new vision for the fantasy series'
Rest of post under cut due to length and possible spoilers.
“Expectations are so high — whether from the fans of the franchise or the perspective of the company — there’s tremendous pressure.” says game director Corinne Busche. “One thing I’ll say about this team: They really rise to the occasion.” [...] “We sort of lost our way in a couple of previous titles, moving away from that character-focused storytelling that made ‘Mass Effect’ and ‘Dragon Age’ a success,” says John Epler, “Dragon Age” series creative director. “This project really coalesced when we consciously identified that central aspect of the experience: the characters.” “Veilguard” puts players in the shoes of an unlikely leader to a small band of rebels — think “Oceans 11” meets “The Fellowship of the Ring.” “It’s a deeply personal experience,” says Busche. “You’re creating your own character and that might be a representation of you, that might be reflective of the kinds of choices you'd like to make.” For the first time in BioWare history, that customizability allows player avatars to be transgender and access unique dialogue options around that identity. There’s also a prominent storyline about a party member coming out as nonbinary. “I'm an openly queer trans woman — I really believe that representation matters,” says Busche. “Everyone is welcome in ‘Dragon Age,’ and we want people to see themselves and feel like they can have a heroic place here.” [...]"
"4 questions for Corinne Busche and John Epler What makes “Dragon Age” stand apart from other fantasy games? Corinne Busche: “‘Dragon Age’ is a franchise that’s fundamentally always been about this really authentic team of companions that come together to take on insurmountable challenges. It's about people. It touches on some pretty deep themes as well. Injustices. The burdens of leadership. It really is about establishing this sense of found family to take on these challenges that lay ahead.” What feels different from previous iterations? John Epler: “I'd say this version of the game is much bigger in its storytelling, in its scope. We really wanted to put you in every one of the big story moments. So as an example, it's the difference between watching the Battle of Minis Tirith versus being someone who's fighting in the middle of it. You're much more participatory in it. We wanted you to feel like you were part of these big world-changing events. You were right in the thick of it and really focusing on making the story that is so big and epic feel personal just by how you interact with it.” What sort of hero is the player character, Rook? Epler: “One thing we wanted to steer away from very consciously was the sense of them being a chosen one because that's something we've done previously. They are the right person in the right place at the right time. But there is always a core personality to them. They are always going to be someone who needs to pull together this small but somewhat dysfunctional group and really lead them in a way that makes sense for that team.” Busche: “And it's one of the interesting aspects of each new game having a different protagonist. We do have a true blank slate, some say in ‘Dragon Age: Origins.’ I would put the Inquisitor in that category. Whereas Hawke in ‘Dragon Age 2’ has a very bespoke identity. So we kind of strike a balance between that. One of the defining properties of Rook, who they are as a character, is this idea of someone who's very competent, but as a leader, they're learning how to shoulder this responsibility.” You’ve put a lot of blood and sweat into this game. It’s nearly out. Have people already been telling you stories about how they connect with it? Busche: “Absolutely. One of the reasons that I felt so honored, so privileged to be able to join this team and work on this franchise is so rarely have I seen a game or a piece of media, for that matter, that connects with people so deeply. There's a real sense of ownership and an affinity for the franchise. It's a rare thing.” Epler: “I'll share a very personal anecdote about this game and people connecting. So I wrote the follower Bellara. Early on while we were making this game, I got a diagnosis of ADHD. So I'm writing this character who has a lot of the same mannerisms, a lot of the same views of the world, in a very specific way. And hearing people online, connecting to this character in the way she speaks and the way she interacts, they were able to point to and say, ‘That's me, that's how I deal with the world.’ And it's just such a cool feeling to have someone connect with a character you create and be able to say, ‘I felt seen in a way that I've never felt seen in a game before.’”"

I'm a huge fan of your work, your writing is so beautiful, and the way you add your own personal love of art is just; it's genuinely amazing. I was wondering if you have any paintings that you think each of your favorite characters would represent or maybe even what u see when u look at them. ❤️🖼🎨🖌
Oh boy do I love this ask! Firstly, than you 🥺 you're too kind 💕
Second I have so many paintings that spring to mind for various characters! Immediately off the bat my brain went right to Lestat and how his presence and aesthetic (especially in 1920s New Orleans) gave gigantic J.C. Leyendecker vibes.
(left) The Sleuth J.C. Leyendecker, ca. 1906 and (right) Arrow Shirt Collar Ad, 1916. By J.C. Leyendecker For Arrow Shirt Collars, 1916
The way Leyendecker plays with shadow, light, and color to project an air of seduction and power is just *chef's kiss.* He is a master at depicting an idealized masculinity that still has a level of vulnerability. I don't think it's just the styling/ fashion of the men in Leyendecker's illustrations that remind me of Lestat, but the features as well. J.C. gives them this attitude of nonchalance but there's something deeply concerned with appearances underneath. Is that not Lestat?
For Claudia there are a couple. First (not a painting but a sculpture) is Degas' The Little Dancer Aged Fourteen. I look at this piece and think of the history of ballet and the connotations of ballet at the time Degas was working. In France at the time ballerinas were highly taken advantage of and exploited. The exploitation was sexual in nature and simultaneously adultified and infantilized. They were highly fetishized. It's very sad and tragic and it reminds me of Claudia. The Little Dancer has an almost defiant energy to her, like there is a sense of pride and restraint, something dignified despite her lesser social standing.
I also see something of Claudia in this piece: Girl in Pink Dress, ca. 1927 by Laura Wheeler Waring. I also think this girl embodies the qualities of both Bailey and Delainey's Claudias–– there's simultaneously an innocence and maturity. I see something similar in Isabella, (aka Young Woman with a Fan), 1906 by Simon Maris and I just think it's neat to see art of Black people done by a white person from the early 1900s that isn't fetishizing or racist (don't look at J.C. Leyendecker's art of Black people, yikes!)
For Louis, my first thought was Derek Fordjour's STRWMN, 2020. It gives NOLA Louis to me in terms of style, but also the colorful and fun energy has the vibes of his little journey of gay self-discovery in Paris. I also see Louis in Lois Mailou Jones' Negro Youth, 1929. It mirrors depressed Louis for me. There is something very fragile in his expression, but you can tell he's trying to be strong, much like Louis.
As for Armand? Well, the number one is Botticelli's Saint Sebastian (it just has an uncanny resemblance to Assad) and the metaphor is too apt to not point out. The other that immediately make me think of Armand is The Abduction of Ganymede by Correggio. It's less the painting and more the myth it's based on, but out of all the Ganymede paintings, Correggio's is my favorite.
And Daniel is just like... any Nan Goldin photo, but I'll pick Heart-shaped bruise, 1980. I don't think I need to give my thoughts here 😂
Thank you again for such a fun ask! I appreciate every message I get from anons and mutuals alike 🥰
[*Edit: Being transparent––I went back and corrected a mistake I made in the original because I don't want an inaccurate/ racist post going around, even after a correction in the reblogs if people aren't seeing the original. I accidentally implied that Laura Wheeler Waring was white. I meant the statement about Simon Maris, who was a Dutch portrait artist. Laura Wheeler Waring was a prominent Black artist. Lesson to self: do not write deeply thoughtful posts at 1 am while you have a fever.]

listen. when it comes to which manifestation of magic would choose sam, i'll admit that seegenpelater is the obvious answer. i get it, i do! like lou mentioned in today's AP, it's literally persuasion magic, obviously that meshes well with sam's magical strengths
HOWEVER !!! i am a firm believer that at her core, sam is more aligned with miskoro (alteration) than seegenpelater
lengthy and incoherent rambling below the cut
as @/wanderingsoftly noted in an earlier post of theirs on this topic, sam's very first spell was transmuting lint into a sundae. i'd like to point out that when given the reality-warping powers of magic, she doesn't think to just poof a sundae into existence - her first thought is to use the lint from her pocket as some kind of equivalent(ish) exchange.
i see this mindset of 'work with what you've got' as a huge part of sam's character, since in her interactions with both the pilot program and the world, she always meets people where they're at. she consistently matches people's energies in a way that neither diminishes nor amplifies, but in a way that illuminates. i think the clearest manifestation of that is in her local charm effect- she doesn't try to be likeable, her presence is just so warm and kind that you can't help but be disarmed. you bare your soul to her, and she responds with a compassionate and tender understanding that opens up an entirely new world of possibilities.
sam sheds light on the ugly, harsh edges of a person and embraces them as they are- not to be romanticized but not to be neglected either. she's an amazing friend when life is good and a safe haven when life gets rough; she was there for jammer when he took on alexis the dragon's curse, for k after they accidentally killed evan, and for evan when he was still a shadow haunting a pair of shoes. there is no aspect of humanity that sam butler/black/britain is too afraid to hold, because no burden is too great to be shared.
with that being said, i'll try to get to my actual argument.
sam is undeniably magnetic, able to compel demons into releasing their grip on evan's soul, and i'm not going to dismiss that at all! sam's ability to influence the people around her is a fundamental part of her character, but i think it's important to draw a distinction between being magically persuasive and being naturally persuasive, as sam usually falls into the latter category.
as for why that distinction is important, it's a matter of intention.
the magic of seegenpelater is inherently subjective, taking perceived reality and molding it into illusory shapes at the whims of its user. on the other hand, the magic of miskoro is inherently objective; its alterations are exactly what they present themselves to be. as we've seen on weugan, sam is deeply opposed to projecting her desires onto others and seegenpelater is entirely antithetical to that. in contrast, miskoro represents the honest potential to change- which sam has always kindled in those around her- and i think that perfectly aligns with who she is at her core.
sam has been helping people out since day one. she provides the warmth and safety they need to grow past their fixed ideas about who they should be and into who they could be. she's been a sailor moon fangirl, a twitch streamer, a scuppers player, a television host, a celebrity, the world's greatest wizard, and only the qohlye knows who she'll be next!
sam butler/black/britain is a woman who treats surnames like haute couture, a wizard perpetually moving forward, unbridled by the threat of stagnation, and i am deeply obsessed with her. somebody please sedate me.
anyway save my girl from cannibal island PLEASE !!!! drop by purble place and get some dope ass alchemy powers instead :3
LET SAM COMMIT CRIMES AGAINST THE NATURAL SCIENCES '24

I haven't been quiet about my dislike (hatred, even) of the last two episodes of the show but I'll say it again
(I cannot speak for everyone, obviously, so these are just my personal feelings on the matter)
People tend to confuse "happy" with "satisfying" endings. Let's look at Lilia's episode. She died. Literally. Technically, that is a "sad" ending. But it wasn't, actually, because I did not feel sad. Quite the opposite, actually, I ADORED how her arc was concluded. I had happy tears. Her end truly felt like a beginning. My point is, I was expecting the same emotional impact from Agatha's end because there was no way this show would end any other way. Agatha was always going to die. But execution fucking matters. Hell, the hug in e4 had more emotional impact than the kiss. Do you know why? Because in the, supposedly, Agatha centered show, we got BARELY NOTHING regarding Agatha's backstory and we got EVEN LESS about Rio and Agatha's relationship. And I'm not even speaking from a shipper perspective. But Agatha's story has been so interwoven with Death, it feels like something fucking crucial to show. I don't disagree that there's a certain allure in leaving things unsaid and implied but when you want to have that sort of ending, it needs to have the emotional impact to back it up. The ending needs to fit the rest of the show (example: HTTYD 3, but we are not going to unravel that disaster here since it's neither the time nor the place for it).
And don't even get me started on the comic book lovers. "It's ending was comic book accurate so I'm happy!" Well, I'm not a comic book reader. This ending meant absolutely nothing to me the way it was shown. Which brings me back to my first point; execution fucking matters.
As for your "this is not the end of them" comment, I don't necessarily disagree. Originally, another thing that made me hate the ending was the fact that we got no resolution between the two. At least, no explicitly shown resolution. Now, I think maybe they left it open-ended on purpose, to maybe (hopefully) touch upon that in future projects. However, it truly does feel like the time for the backstory is over. I can't fully explain this feeling but the closest example I could give is spinoffs; you know how you get certain main characters and then this work gets a spinoff with a new set of protagonists but the old ones still make some appearances here and there? You get to know what they're up to in present time but you no longer get a full view of them. That's what this feels like.
Anyway, thank you for coming to my Ted talk
Honestly, I don't understand the people who are bitter about the way Agatha All Along ended. I thought it was freaking amazing.
Agatha and Rio got to be angry and in love and epically drawn to each other. And petty as all hell.
We got a kiss (and Rio's face those seconds before Agatha kissed her and she felt it coming). We got to see the wounds Agatha left in Death. We got to see a moment where Agatha essentially forgave Death (even if she wouldn't acknowledge it to Rio). We watched Rio cover her grave in the color that meant most to Agatha. We watched how Rio gave Agatha the time to love her son (because even if the older Agatha refused to see it - because it hurt too much - she would clearly have taken that gift a second time if she found herself back in that moment).
And it wasn't even the end of them, because if you don't think Rio is going to keep pursuing Agatha's soul now that she's floating around as a ghost instead of coming home to her, you're wrong (you're just... wrong).
It might not have been a "happy ending" but it was freaking glorious.

Brandon Sanderson on why TV adaptations of fantasy works end up being so different to the source material:
I have a fun story here. Early in my career, someone optioned the rights to make one of my stories (the Emperor's Soul) into a film. I was ecstatic, as it's not a story that at the time had gotten a lot of attention from Hollywood. I met with the writer, who had a good pedigree, and who seemed extremely excited about the project; turned out, he'd been the one to persuade the production company to go for the option. All seemed really promising. A year or so later, I read his script and it was one of the most bizarre experiences of my life. The character names were, largely, the same, though nothing that happened to them was remotely similar to the story. Emperor's Soul is a small-scale character drama that takes place largely in one room, with discussions of the nature of art between two characters who approach the idea differently. The screenplay detailed an expansive fantasy epic with a new love interest for the main character (a pirate captain.) They globe-trotted, they fought monsters, they explored a world largely unrelated to mine, save for a few words here and there. It was then that I realized what was going on. Hollywood doesn't buy spec scripts (original ideas) from screenwriters very often, and they NEVER buy spec scripts that are epic fantasy. Those are too big, too expensive, and too daunting: they are the sorts of stories where the producers and executives need the proof of an established book series to justify the production. So this writer never had a chance to tell his own epic fantasy story, though he wanted to. Instead, he found a popularish story that nobody had snatched up, and used it as a means to tell the story he'd always wanted to tell, because he'd never otherwise have a chance of getting it made. I'm convinced this is part of the issue with some of these adaptations; screenwriters and directors are creative, and want to tell their own stories, but it's almost impossible to get those made in things like the fantasy genre unless you're a huge established name like Cameron. I'm not saying they all do this deliberately, as that screenwriter did for my work, but I think it's an unconscious influence. They want to tell their stories, and this is the allowed method, so when given the chance at freedom they go off the rails, and the execs don't know the genre or property well enough to understand why this can lead to disaster. Anyway, sorry for the novel length post in a meme thread. I just find the entire situation to be fascinating.

We Interrupt This Blog To Show You Something Awesome
Omori has a Lego Ideas set! This awesomeness is brought to you by designer FoodIsScarce.
Under the cut, I'll be showing more images, explaining my thoughts, and give clarifications on how Lego Ideas works for this set. But if you want to skip that, link is here.
Lego Ideas Neighbor's Room and White Space Set Breakdown
To start off, this set has a whopping three components, all of which stand alone.
First, we have Neighbor's room!
The colors are honestly so nice in this mock-up. Lego has a fairly limited palette, but being bright and poppy works really well here.
Compared to the in-game room, it's pretty compact, but that makes sense so it doesn't dominate your shelves. Everything important is there, to outstanding detail. The leaves may ride up higher above the doorframe, but it doesn't break the immersion for me. It all feels like a piece of really nice fanart or even concept art.
The yellow cat is the centerpiece and I am very impressed with it. It isn't as stretched out as the original, though that's affected by the build size, but the shape of the paws, ears and head are spot-on and the face sticker really sells it.
Also, building the set sideways so it's smooth? Genius in my books. Sure, the minifigs won't stick, but all the smooth edges in this make the set stand out from Lego's lineup without seeming like a jarring oddity. Kind of like Omori's world compared to a bunch of other RPGs, really, so it's fitting.
I guess if I have a nitpick it'd be that the leaves are entirely different in vibe due to being all fluffy and rounded instead of the big sharp shapes in the original, but I don't think that's even really a bad thing. Just part of the Lego-ifying process. Also I groan at how I know I will place the cat's eyes wrong. Stickers are the bane of my existence. For Yellow Cat though, I would in theory persist.
Next, we have Mari's picnic blanket!
Gotta be honest, this caught me off guard, even as someone who was keeping track of this project for a while, but this is AWESOME. Colors are nailed, the existing basket and fruit pieces translate so well, and I just want to place all my fave figs on it immediately. I do hope that Mari's square could be subbed out with something with studs to keep her in place, as nothing else seems to be (maybe the basket has a 1 by 2 piece keeping it locked?).
I think it's an excellent choice even if it doesn't appear in either main room because you can plonk it by any other set or the huge pile of loose bricks you haven't gotten around to sorting yet and boom. You've just made a new corner of Headspace!
Last but certainly not least, White Space!
The computer and tissue box I think were really well done. Smooth place also tickles my fancy. I'm not as sold by the suspended light bulb; some white walls that maybe has a claw on the side would have helped sell the room more to me, I think. But it's solid.
And then you get to my favorite part in the room:
Original creator, you have my vote.
What about the minifigs?
This set still has you covered!
In this current iteration it includes six minifigs for your main characters as well as the cat and snake seen in earlier pictures. Everyone except Hero and Mari seem to be those shorter models, which always used to annoy me as a kid cause I couldn't bend the legs, but gets a pass here because remembering that height difference is nice.
The hair is a hot point of contest with the comments and Reddit posts. I'll explain more below, but Lego Ideas has rules about custom molds for new figures, so these were the closest the creator could get. And hey, I think Hero is spot on!
All the outfits and faces are custom prints, which are far easier than custom molds, and I think were done really well! Basil's top might be a bit bright, but otherwise the colors are perfect, and so is all the printing.
I also saw that Mari, Basil and Aubrey all had one extra face, which is rad. Not sure yet if Hero and Kel do too or if it's just the girls (I should assume Omori is just slate-faced as ever).
Just one more note: I love how spoiler-free this set is. You know everything in the first few moments of play. Our community is really bad with spoilers, I admit, so this is perfect for a shelf.
Here's some pics of them in action:
How does Lego Ideas even work? Is my vote worth it?
Short answer: Heck yeah!
Long answer:
Lego Ideas is a really popular program with a lot of new builds all the time, and people put a lot of work into both the models and promoting them just for the off-chance of it becoming a product.
I compiled some questions you might have based on this set specifically, but there's plenty of info yourself if you want to learn more.
How does a set get selected?
Lego Ideas has three intake periods a year for products that get over 10k signatures between the last period and that date. Each intake only has a select few that actually get to that mark; the record number in 2021 according to Wikipedia is 57 in one 2021 intake. It sounds like a lot, but in the site's 10-year run it's had over 135,000 ideas shared, not including a bunch that would have been struck down prior to going live due to breaking rules.
Each set gets 60 days to meet that goal on first launch, then an additional 365 once 100 people have signed on. Getting 1,000 supporters gives you an extra 6 months on top of that, and 5,000 (the halfway mark) another 6 months.
Meeting that 10k mark is non-negotiable for that specific set to receive the expert review through Ideas, though successful ideas that are lower may spark inspiration from their own teams.
Do I need to pledge money?
No! Lego Ideas is not a Kickstarter or crowdfund campaign. Those ask for money as they need a way to produce and distribute the product. Lego handles this on the creator's behalf.
All you need is to make a free Lego account and click the support button. You don't even have to enable email notifications on signup.
Where will I find the set then if it's made?
Anywhere else you find Lego! Even toyshops I go to have a small shelf for Ideas sets. If none of your local retailers have it, it'd be on online storefronts worldwide.
But Omori is a licensed product!
So are most of Lego Ideas' concepts that make it to becoming a set! Out of the 65 sets announced and confirmed for production (or who have already had their run!) just 29 are not tied to an IP.
So Omocat will be involved?
Yes. If the idea gets far enough, Lego would reach out to Omocat and any other copyright holders of Omori to discuss how to proceed. They will also get a say in any tweaks, and likely make a licensing fee off of Lego.
However, due to the Ideas streamline, the set likely won't be sold on Omocat's storefront (and if they are, it'd be because Omocat got a few sets to sell from them; they'll never be exclusive to Omocat's store).
Will the creator get paid?
If it makes it, yes! Lego Ideas people get a 1% cut. It's not much, but for all the work it gets to 10k I think it's earned.
But Omori isn't for kids!
Guess what: Neither are most Ideas! They're packed in black boxes and kept near the architecture and more advanced Technic sets targeted towards adults. Each set also has an age recommendation based both on set difficulty and the IP.
Is Omori even appropriate for Lego as a brand?
Omori is on the list of approved IP for Lego Ideas. This may be reviewed, but I think it will remain appropriate both because the set does not portray any of the concerning content in the game and because of the nature.
Lego says they won't make sets for franchises built around graphic violence, alcohol, or sex. Omori lacks all that. I doubt it would be yanked down based on that.
I don't care about Omori. Why should I support this?
First, why did you make it down here?
And second, look. I get it even as a fan. But if we can get an Omori set even to the review stage, that opens up the door for people to try with all other kinds of indie franchises. Undertale, Oneshot, Stardew Valley, Hollow Knight, whatever you think of!
Lego Ideas is a portal to Lego working with IP that isn't just owned by a mega corporation, and I think that is awesome.
I signed! What else can I do?
Spread the word! Reblog this post, tell your friends about it, repost (with links and credit) to other social media. Every little bit helps on the road to 10k, to catch Lego's attention, or even just to inspire someone else with a set idea they worry is too niche to share.
Cause this isn't just about Omori. It's about supporting the creativity of a dedicated fan who spent a long time working on something clearly inspired by a game held closely. And I am always going to support that.
Thank you for reading this far! If you're a regular, sorry for the break, lol. I will get back to regular posts soon. I just had an exam so am still a bit drained.

how you met part 4
JIMMY MENTIONED, monologues from game
actor AU Jimmy where he is a nice British man who is nice with dogs and who is a nice good boy
JIMMY (ACTOR AU)
-you have been having a hard time finding a final actor for your movie
-you were a college student working on your final for the year
- but because of the content of this final character's personality and story: it was hard to cast.
-the others were easy. Curly and Anya: kids form your class. Daisuke, a freshman in college who you met one day while working on the script in the college's Starbucks. And Swansea, Daisuke's older stepfather.
-truthfully you were ready to scrap the project completely
-the issues with the main character being so controversial and frankly horrible, people were hesitant to tarnish their reputation on campus
-"I got a mate. Never acted a day in his life but I got faith in him" curly told you one afternoon
-and desperate you said yes
The man in baggy grey sweatpants and a loose fitted Star wars shirt shifted uncomfortably in his spot as his eyes darted continuously between the director and Curly
"Thank you so much for coming- Jimmy, right? I'm (Y/N)" They approached him, holding out their hand Jimmy nodded, pausing to look at their hand before shaking it "Uh- yeah! Thanks for the opportunity- despite- my lack of-" he cleared his throat "-uh yeah.." his lack of experience.
He just couldn't remember the word
They nodded and smiled, backing away to sit on the desk to watch
It had only been curly and (Y/N) in the room with him, minimizing as much as possible to make him comfortable.
Jimmy stared down at the script in his shaking hands, eyes darting to Curly-- who gave him a wide and encouraging smile."Whenever you're ready" the director nodded
"What-" he cleared his throat, taking a breath "how do i- like- okay.. what emotion am I supposed to..?" They smiled reassuringly "any that feels right. You've got our attention, I promise it's normal to feel nervous"
Jimmy nodded, feeling more at ease than anything. He took a breath. Then.
"I don't think I understood the pressure you were under before"
(Y/N) Perked up at how gruff he made his voice sound. His usual slightly rasped British accent was replaced by a deeper rasping American on
"Fuck.. and you tried to tell me.. Our worst moments don't make us Monsters, Huh? You're a good captain curly... And you'll be a good captain again.. I'll get us both. Through this.."
Jimmy paused, his confidence fading as he met their eyes- "and- the other monologue too?" He asked, a bit hesitant (Y/N) Nodded and smiled "if you're up for it"
He nodded and took her another breath
"What do you think will happen when we get back, hm? All I ever hear is how great of a leader you are. God. It's so annoying. But now? What do you think will happen now when you get back? Everything you and I worked for in our lives. Accomplishments. Changes.. None of it. Will matter. No.. it's not just me, is it- you were supposed to be the one who had everything under control. You said so yourself. The ship. The crew. Everything that happened here. It's your responsibility captain. That's what you'll be hearing for the rest of your life. Or... This can all be remembered as a tragedy. Despite the best possible efforts from its acclaimed captain; the Tuplar crew was never found. No one survived to tell the tale.. you're standing at the top. Feet in cement.. I get it now. Right? I'll take care of it."
Jimmy paused, anxiety overcoming as he looked up at the director and his best friend. "How did I.. do?" He hesitated- his usual accident shining through
"..how do you feel about growing a stubble?" The director asked with a grin

THE PEOPLE HAVE DECIDED... THE WINNER IS ; SHINING STAR AU
Don't worry the other AUs will get another chance in the future after we finish the superhero AU (if it has an ending of course but it'd be fun if it didn't ehe) and Shining Star ! Here's a little summary for each AU (including winning AU) ; Fates Intertwined - An AU where SEKAI didn't exist and everything happened naturally... Sort of like a slowburn? esque Alternate universe, It's a bit fleshed out but I'm still working on everything. To keep it simple, this AU is basically where each character isn't going through so much trauma and instead knows how to deal with that trauma that happened in canon with the help of the people they know and cherish, let's take An or Mizuki for example... When An found out about Nagi's death she still did feel sad (and guilty for not being able to say goodbye) and "traumatized" but VBS, instead of checking up on her once actually comforts her, like a lot (including Akito) and encouraged her to keep fighting for what she wants to achieve and keep on reaching for that shared dream. Basically reassuring her (she also has less attachment and abandonment issues... Kanamod and Modshishi knows like almost everything about this AU), while Mizuki despite having to go through Mizu5 again faces Ena this time, not running away or isolating, actually facing Ena. And Ena in return wanted Mizuki to tell her the secret herself because she didn't want to believe in people she doesn't know well, especially if the people were transphobic. uh yeah basically Project Sekai AU ; Everyone's untraumatized (THIS IS SO LONG I'M SO SORRY) Daydreams ; Actually one of my least doomed AUs, it's basically where Minori, An, Mizuki, Mafuyu, Saki, Ichika and Emu daydreams a lot... indulging in a world full of lies, living a life full of lies thinking everything is still the same. Because you see in this AU every unit disbanded because of a big issue they had. For More More Jump! They had a disagreement, Shizuku and Haruka were mostly the ones arguing but Airi also joined in to defend Shizuku... Minori witnessed all of this and basically after hearing Haruka say "I WISH I NEVER WENT ON THE ROOFTOP AND MET YOU ALL!" Minori's head basically clicked, memories flashed before her and she basically hyperventilated and ran away. Haruka realized what she'd done but it was too late, so Airi and Shizuku left. Shizuku isolated herself, Airi tries to keep in touch and well let's just say Minori's depressed and keeps daydreaming which really makes her mentally unhealthy. Haruka knows of Minori's state but she's too scared to do or say anything, she thinks it's all her fault and well you can figure out the rest here haha I just used MMJ as an example since that's the one I first worked on. part 2 will be posted hold on

Hi!! I love your characters, art, and your style ^3^ 💞 A little question– How do you make these rooms/houses on floorplanner? I'm a bit confused by it 😅
I can't express how much I like your art ❤️ continue the work! 🥹🫶
Thanks for the compliments <3
I've been enjoying floorplanner so much, so I hope you can get some fun out of it as well~ Haha, I'm not an expert or anything, I've just been slowly gathering knowledge and skill through trial and error (and believe me--there are a looot of quirks) 😅
I'd suggest checking out a tutorial if you're keen on playing around with it 👍
Other than that, I can give you a brief example of my current project:
This is in 2D mode where you do all of the architectural building and furniture selection.
All the stuff you need is on the sidebar here:
To really get in depth and being arranging all your features, you need to go to the 3D mode like so:
This is where you can fine-tune all your little bitty items, like this:
For example-- this is a book on a table; simple enough. But you can use all the arrow keys to move it around however you want (up+down is in the center, and the ones around correspond to each direction, etc) I've found that you can also alter the size of a lot of objects as well if you click on their settings...
I'm not sure what you're having trouble with, but again--I'd suggest looking into a video tutorial or something~
Hope this helps <3
#asks#it's similar to the sims but you can put stuff literally anywhere you want 🙏#I think they have basic layouts for you to start with as well--but I just drew a sketch and was able to superimpose my project on top ✨#also I'm a nutter freak and have gone waaaay overboard so don't use me as an example lol 😅

Homestuck: Beyond Canon Upd8 for November 11, 2024
*flops*
Don't mind me.
Just gonna lie here while I do the Homestuck liveblog thing.
I am going to give a heads up. If my next migraine treatment brings me a bit more back in line, I'll be doing VLogs again. I have a bigger video project planned, but it's not Homestuck related. I'll be posting the updates here though, so you'll still know when I blog an upd8. Then you'll all get to see my haggard and aged face.
We begin with the monthly news upd8 from James. Except no! It is in fact an upd8 from Miles! James fades into the background, and apparently Miles will be our flattering correspondent from now on.
It looks like Miles is putting potential spoilers in the news post, so I might have to be careful in the future. Of course these might be jokes. We'll have to see.
Work continues on the planned [S] page and more Beyond Canon merch. We won't be getting an upd8 for December, but they will be running the Patreon. The next upd8 looks like it might be as late as February.
That's all unfortunate. But I fully support if the team wants to take a well earned holiday.
Upd8
Tavvy has decided to join Yiffy on an adventure. This can't possibly end well. His attempts at being her lackey have so far landed him mostly in trouble. And there's a heap of trouble brewing on the soon to be battlefield.
Yeah that's not happening.
Heh! Harry brought the trail mix.
Oh wow. And oh no!
OH NO!!!
That can't possibly count as Heroic though. Getting sniped while performing a purely tactical role is not a hero's end. Still, Rose is probably glad the kids aren't seeing that.
And button.
Interesting view to cut to.
Again, I don't think this will count as Heroic for anyone. But a lot of people are about to die. And let's not forget, none of the trolls currently outside for the Plot Point are God Tiers. This is bad. This is really bad. This is the kind of moment that calls for an extreme, deus ex machina, like the Plot Point has the potential for.
But we're not getting to see it yet.
Edit: @vriedi reminded me that Meenah is a God Tier. Though this does make me wonder, what happens when a dead God Tier dies?
Orange curtains.
Okay! Legitimately fantastic Psyche Out. They actually got me pretty good there.
Okay, we have a new troll it I think.
gavageCunctation is messaging Vrissy. Though that doesn't necessarily tell us much, except that a new player may have entered the drama.
And they're "negging" Vrissy. So this troll clearly sees themselves as a "player" too.
We've got a "game" that's about to be played. A game being run by a TC. Now Gamzee is dead, but that doesn't mean he didn't setup something before Vriska killed him. Still, it's likely these are two completely new troll kids.
We've got a new AA too. So we might be seeing more troll descendants. After all, they used cloning to kick things off. This troll is typing in purple, but blood typing may not be universal anymore. I do find it interesting that we're continuing the nucleotide pairs though. They could have gone for a different motif. Maybe they're trying to symbolize that these are potential paradox clones for a new session?
AA is apparently our chronic auspistice for this group. And potentially our Seer, though we've had fake-outs on that before.
And our actual cliffhanger ending is this new GC's computer exploding.
So yeah. Something has to happen for a lot of our beloved characters to not bite it. I'm also curious how Rose's vision of future events can come true if Jane has unleashed her weapon. But I mentioned last time that Rose is playing a dangerous game here. I don't think any of our God Tiers are in trouble, and I'm pretty sure the Plot Point is fine.
I'm wondering if this is how Calliope ends up sacrificing themself, if Rose was even correct there. Either way, this a dark ending for the year on a community that's already seen some dark endings.
*Returns to flop*

The Archon's Baby - Chapter 7 - The Pilgrimmage Begins
Previous Chapter
request from ao3: Make one where they have a child but the female character doesn't tell Mavuika that she is expecting a child and distances herself from Mavuika please 🙏🙏
warnings: warnings: pregnancy, pregnancy symptoms, implied suggestive stuff but nothing actually happens, traveller uses they/them pronouns anyway but I haven't picked which twin is here yet... talks about the dead (Mavuika's sister)
Fic under the cut, don't repost my stuff on other platforms, i have ao3. Reader is not the traveller. Reader's adoptive sisters are Chasca and Chuychu.
Chasca's character teaser made me want to sob so you get this early.
The Pilgrimage started in two days, and you hadn't spoken to Chasca since the argument, while Chuychu came to check on you not long after Xilonen left for her meeting with the archon.
"She's cooling down. Just give her some time. It took a lot for her not to storm the Speaker's Chambers..." Chuychu admitted with a tired sigh.
"Well, I need her not to charge in there any time soon. Mavuika invited me to stay with her instead of the Inn. I'd rather not have a heart attack from her storming in while I'm asleep." You replied, playing with Chuychu's fingers, that tensed at the moment you admitted to staying with Mavuika.
"That guy from the Masters of the Night-Wind, Oronon, asked about you. Said you weren't home when Ifa went to drop round some vegetables and aphid honey." Your sister changed the subject, her eyes wandering around the room, before settling on what you had been working on when she arrived.
"I forgot about that. Ifa started bringing food over after that saurian Chasca was fostering for him ate my plants." You confessed, shaking your head at the memory. It was only when you realised what Chuychu was looking at that you moved your hands to shield it.
"It's not, it's not finished!" you let out a groan, your attempt to hide the project were halfhearted at best, but your sister just huffed at you. She treated you differently to Chasca, while she would pick fights with her older sister to make her blow off steam and watch her abyssal illness, she was softer with you. She had to be, ever since Chasca made you cry that one time when you were all a lot younger.
But that time was resolved with food, and promises to play together. Now, Chuychu was unsure how to resolve the issues. Chasca wasn't even mad at you anymore, she was just uncomfortable with the situation at hand. Her youngest sister and the pyro archon together... even Chuychu hadn't expected that, but you had been spending a lot of time with the archon back when she first became the pyro archon...
"It's a record. You, Chasca, me, our parents... Mavuika is there too, but I'm making a separate one for her. She deserves it, with everything that rests on her. Natlan's fate rests on her shoulders, it's a lot..." you trailed off, realising you were toeing the line of what nobody but the six ancient name bearers and Mavuika should know.
"You're preserving her legacy, and our family's legacy. Has something happened with Mavuika? You're not usually this sentimental when it comes to history, and that's saying something-"
"Do not blame hormones, I'm only eight weeks- can we continue this conversation after I go pee?"
Chuychu held back a chuckle, nodding as you hurried off to the bathroom.
"Chuychu? I have not seen you in a while. Do you have business with me, or are you here to see your sister?" Mavuika's voice in the speaker's chamber should not be uncommon, but the god of war had not been expecting Chuychu in her private chambers, not without you present at least.
"She's in the bathroom." Your older sister held back a grimace at her voice, trying not to show disrespect to her archon, but it was hard now she knew of another side to her, "Apologies, archon, for my tone."
"It's fine, Chuychu. I know it was not what you or your sister expected when finding out your youngest sister was dating someone. Let alone, having a baby." Mavuika smiled softly as you walked in, heading into her awaiting arms.
The silence was almost awkward, well, it was awkward for Chuychu, until she noticed how at peace you were with your lover.
"I'm going to head out and check on my patients. Treat my baby sister right, archon. And you, drink some water. You've been drinking enough xocoatl that you've probably surpassed Xilonen." Chuychu bid the two of you farewell, giving you a warning look as Mavuika chuckled. Clearly your xocoatl craving was getting out of hand.
"I'll see to it." Mavuika stated, much to the look on your face that disagreed with the taste of water at the moment.
"Water doesn't taste good." You pouted, your fingers playing haphazardly with the zipper of Mavuika's bodysuit.
"My love, what are you doing?" Mavuika hummed in amusement as you continued to play with her zipper.
"You smell better than the food Chuychu tried to give me... and I missed you, we finally have some time to ourselves before the Pilgrimage in two days..." you trailed off, but whatever you had in mind, was not what Mavuika expected, as she ended up with you asleep with your head on her chest, listening to her heartbeat.
She watched as your eyelids fluttered, hearing your soft breathing, in and out, in and out...
"Feels too early for so many people to know..." your voice interrupted her thoughts, burying your face in her exposed collarbone, having tugged the zipper down enough for the skin-on-skin contact to be enough for you.
Mavuika hummed, gently brushing an eyelash from your cheek.
"Can I stay here? During everything... I feel safer here, like the flame is watching over, or it's you, I feel safe around you. Maybe both?" your half-awake rambles trailed off as you frowned to yourself, missing how Mavuika's face lit up at what you said.
"You may stay as long as you want, my love. Besides, it's not like you aren't well-versed with your surroundings here." Mavuika chuckled, recalling how many times the two of you had been around the stadium together, whether you were meeting for official meetings, sneaking in between her meetings, or spending the night in the archon's bed...
"Hehe, well... at least you can't get me any more pregnant..." you mumbled, knowing that would be a poor defensive argument to have with your sisters, if it came to it. Shaking your head, you changed the subject, "there are rumours of the golden outlander coming to Natlan next... it's that time of year again."
"I see... honestly, I have been awaiting the day with grave importance. I plan to give offer them Natlan's highest form of hospitality, after everything they have done in each nation so far. The Traveller is a tremendously skilled warrior after all."
"The Traveller? Is that what everyone calls them? Is everyone just being lazy and not calling them their actual name? That's like calling our child, 'the child' instead of their name... but it's too early to think about that." You began to complain, but your voice became muffled as you buried your face in Mavuika's bare chest, much to her amusement.
"Every rumour and story we've heard from anyone visiting seems to refer to them by a different title." Mavuika agreed, her breath hitching as you moved to press a kiss to her collarbone, continuing down to her sternum. Her hand cradled the back of your head, preventing you from going further, much to her reluctance.
"We should be having dinner soon, and unfortunately, my love, eating me does not count." The pyro archon listened to her better judgement this time, despite the pout on your lips at your activities being ceased.
"Am I not allowed to indulge myself in a snack?"
"And you once called me the Archon of Horniess..." Mavuika grumbled, shifting slightly to try reduce the hot feeling flickering across her body. You got under her skin so easily, just from a few kisses-
"Can we have chocolate?" you watched Mavuika's face crinkle up in confusion.
"For dinner?"
You hummed in thought, "with xocoatl?"
"Ah, you heard Chuychu's warning about that, my darling-"
"Ugh, fine. I'll have a forest of colour salad!" you grumbled, folding your arms as you tried to rack your brain for foods you could eat. So many Natlanese recipes had ingredients that you had been warned against...
"What about blazed meat stew?" your lover enquired, tapping her finger to her chin as she tried to think over options.
"Heartburn..." you winced at the thought, giving up and laying down on Mavuika's chest again.
///
The day of the pilgrimmage was almost here, with teams gathering in the stadium entrance to sign up. Preparations were underway, while Mavuika was out and about, Chasca and Chuychu were also busy, leaving you to peacefully sleep in Mavuika's bed after your check-up. Although it was technically a conflict of interest for Chuychu to be your doctor, as your sister, but the situation was sensitive, and the first trimester was full of risk, your sister's goal was as low a risk pregnancy as she could give you. She kept you calm when Mavuika couldn't...
The rumours of the golden outlander and their silver floating companion reached you that evening, when Mavuika returned to join you in bed, holding you close as you listened to her talk about her day.
"I have ensured that they will serve many foods you can safely pick from at the banquets for the Pilgrimmage. If you wish to attend, of course... I know you have had little energy recently." Mavuika's fingers gently drew patterns on your back, listening to each breath you took. In and out. In and out.
"I miss Chasca... Chuychu is still around but, she says Chasca will calm down, I just hope it's before the baby is born, but that's so far from now..." you began to ramble quietly, before your thoughts changed, "I'm glad you're here..." you whispered, eyes cracking open to look at Mavuika's sunshine eyes, a soft smile on her face as you gazed up at her.
"I am too, my darling." Mavuika whispered, pressing kiss after kiss to your face, peppering you in them as you began to giggle and squirm.
"You and your sisters will settle down again... from what I can tell, Chasca isn't angry at either of us anymore, judging from how she was cordial when I saw her. I think, although I can make no assumptions, I believe Chasca isn't sure how to approach you after everything..." Mavuika theorised, her heart aching at these sisterly issues. It reminded her of Hine, and how Mavuika had not been there to defend her sister from possible suitors.
Your silence led to Mavuika glancing down, noticing how you were looking up at her with a soft expression, "my sisters and I... we remind you and Hine."
Your archon hummed, closing her eyes as you began to play with her hair.
"My love, you've stopped eating the Saurian treats that were given to you, right?" you felt Mavuika tense up, her body flushing with heat as she realised she had been caught.
"Uh, yes, I went out to find some wild saurians to give them some, since they were a little dry and-"
"Baby, those were for baby saurians... which I found out after dipping them in xocoatl." You admitted, gaining Mavuika's attention as her eyes widened.
"You ate them too?"
"There's nothing in them that could affect me, Chuychu checked, then she realised they were for saurians after." Biting your lip as Mavuika began to chuckle, her nose brushing yours as she leaned in to show you affection.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
///
"My heart, it's the morning. The Pilgrimmage begins soon. How do you feel?" Mavuika gently woke you, pressing her lips to your forehead as you whined, reaching out for her in determination for her to come back to bed.
"How do you feel?" your voice was hoarse, full of sleep as you sat up, regretting it as the nausea hit you, flailing with the covers to hurry to the bathroom of Mavuika's chambers.
"I guess that answers that question..." Mavuika muttered to herself as she rubbed your back comfortingly, having gotten used to your morning sickness by now. If you were lucky, it would taper off by the end of your first trimester, but you had to get there first.
"Let's get you sorted... it doesn't start yet, so I have time for you, before my duties as the archon." Mavuika cooed, helping you from the floor once you were finished, letting her help you get ready before she had to head out.
There was an offer to sit in the audience of the stadium, so you decided to attend the opening ceremony, sitting down with a cushion beneath you as you waited, hoping to get a glimpse of your sister, who would be competing today.
"Hello! Paimon's Paimon, and this is the Traveller, are we okay to sit with you?" a floating silver creature asked, as an individual cloaked in gold stood behind her, looking at you.
"Sure. It's nice to meet you both. I'm-" you cut yourself off, spotting Mavuika stand up from her throne, a throne that made you blush to think about. It was well hidden however, as the swirling pyro energy heated up the stadium, your lover displaying her use of the flames, as her hair ignited, and she began her speech.
"Skill, strategy, fortune, form... many factors influence strength, but victory never lies. The Pilgrimmage is not merely a trial to determine the strongest among us, but also a stage upon which to showcase your individual growth. Today marks the beginning of yet another legendary saga - one written in the triumphs of the victors! So, without further ado... let the games begin!" Mavuika announced as a horn sounded.
"So, that's the pyro archon? Is it just Paimon or does she seem kinda intimidating?" Paimon enquired, frowning at the amused smile on your face.
"She's been practicing that speech for a while now. You're free to talk to her, just leave it until after the games." You interrupted Paimon talking about how Mavuika was an ordinary person before becoming the Archon. To you, Mavuika was extraordinary... Archon or not.
"Oh, look! It's Kachina and the others!" Paimon shouted, but your eyes lingered on Chasca, and the Flower-Feather clan members you were avoiding, who were chanting her name.
"Um... hey, golden outlander, I know everyone calls you 'the Traveller' but... anyway, could you help me up please? I need to pee again..." you felt your face burn red as the legendary blonde traveller raised an eyebrow, but didn't hesitate to help you up, watching you walk away. The only thing on the Traveller's mind... 'again'?
Mavuika kept an eye on you in the crowds, watching as you were helped up and headed off, almost confusing her until she realised where you were heading. "Of course... the bathroom." She chuckled to herself, before redirecting her attention to the finishing teams stage. Chasca's team had won, so had Kinich's, Iansan's... and the team of Mualani and Kachina too.

Arguably it's not so detailed that you could say it fits in this universe but it can be read separately.)

What if I just wrote Persona 6? Like. I could do it. I totally could. And I have ideas for it. Idk, maybe I'll do it maybe I won't. Vote time idk.
Ideas under the cut.
Did I hear a demand for FemC? Did I? Well even if I'm hallucinating, we have FemC in this P6! "Official" name for now is Minori Koto. Might change it later.
I'm sad to say... I can't set it in University/College without screwing with the timeline. I also have to set it in 2018 I'M SORRY IT'S FOR SOCIAL LINKS I PROMISE.
FemC moves to Tokyo from another-but-not-as-big city in Japan for her parent's work. As for where she's from, does it really matter? nahhhhh (i'm lazy/clueless rn)
Persona MC with present parents??? What??? That's a thing??? (might kill one tbh I'm bored)
We're going with a mix of P4 and P5 for how the other world works. Early on, our main character finds an odd book while looking for study material on classics. When she opens it, there's a portal instead of pages, and she gets sucked in along with her partner on the project/best friend character.
All of the other worlds are different books and follow the plot of said book, repeating over and over. The owner's shadow plays the main character, cognitions play all other named characters, and regular shadows play unnamed roles. The way to save the shadow is to either give them a happier ending or break them out of the monotony of the story. Burning the book would kill the owner.
Persona's are also book based. I haven't decided on if I want to name the Persona's after the characters or the authors, but it's one of those two. As for summoning, characters will get a massive tome that they rip pages out of, symbolic of tearing pages out to write their own story as well as a visual representation for SP/HP. (recovery items are things that would help repair the books, like adhesives of actual book binding materials.)
Social links. The bane of my existence. The two I actually have planned somewhat out are connected to 4 and 5 respectively. The next couple points are about them.
The first Social link you'd meet would be a first-year girl who recently moved to Tokyo from a very small town out in the country, also for her father's work. You also find out through her social link that she has a "big bro" in Tokyo who she goes to visit a lot, as well as his roommate and a lot of their friends. Her social link would generally be the two of you bonding over moving to Tokyo and our MC helping her study. If you've yet to realize, this social link would be Nanako Dojima from Persona 4. No, we can not see P4 MC. I'm sorry, that's for spin-off games. She would not join your party.
The second would be the owner of a small cafe you can find nearby the MC's house, who speaks of his kids and how much trouble they used to get into when they were the MC's age. He mentions his daughter getting into places she shouldn't and his son getting into too much trouble, but it's all said in a fond tone that tells you that he knows they were just kids. Eventually, he mentions a boy who used to come in and sit in the same spot you always do: the counter seat closest to the door. At your rank 10 with him, he'll ask you after the rank-up to look into it for him. He wants to know how to help his kids, but he doesn't have the means to figure it out anymore. You cannot tell him before the end of the game, but you can find a missing-persons case for one Goro Akechi that was never really resolved. This social link would be Sojiro Sakura from Persona 5, P5 MC being his 'son' and Futaba being his daughter.
As for velvet room, I desperately want to make it a library, but instead I shall make it an observatory. Personas are created through selecting two stars and crashing them into each other. Your attendant would be a gentle woman, maybe early twenties by the looks of it, named Agatha. She wouldn't be unwise to the world, but she would clearly be one of the less experienced attendants. Igor is Igor, he isn't possessed. for now. Also you could hypothetically walk around the velvet room if this was playable but idk how to make mods.
The team's outfits change in every storybook to match the theme. If you couldn't tell, I've been playing too much Love Nikki recently.
Yes, there would be a god as the final boss.
No, I am not making P6 Fes-Portable-Golden-Royal-Reload or whatever the fuck it would be named. It's in the original release like it should be.
I know we're tumblr, so I'll keep this last one brief. The best perk of all:
FemC gets to be gay. We are free.
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, now please go vote.

Ok I'm not sure if I’ll ever pick up the comic for this AU again with me slowly losing motivation to draw scu/sonic content (the trailers aren’t helping 😑).
So I’m going to give the gist of the story of this AU.
(Edit: This came out longer then I intended 😅).
Art for the AU
Metal/Metal Sonic character sheet
Amy character sheet
Bonus post one and two
context:
In this AU metal sonic or metal (for now) was not created by dr eggman he was created by a rival tribe to the echidnas, a hedgehog tribe. Metal was designed to hold and wield the chaos emeralds and then master emeralds in hopes of overthrowing the echidna tribe's war hungry reign. Unfortunately the project was proven to be a failure and later unnecessary when the owl guardians got involved. With no purpose for the robot and fears that it could be dangerous if it were to fall into the wrong hands, metal's creator sealed him away within a temple. Sentient or not, Metal’s creator had his mind fully set on never letting his tribe or anyone see his work. To keep the world safe and to make sure his failure would never see the light of the day again.
And it would have stayed that way if it weren’t for one fateful winter.
During one particularly brutal winter a pink hedgehog takes shelter within an abandoned temple. Due to the temple ruins not providing enough warmth and her curiosity of the uncharted ruins, she ventures deeper. In the Midst her exploration of the sacred ruins the pink hedgehog finds many intriguing artifacts and trinkets. One peculiar trinket caught her eyes were two golden rings. These rings weren’t like any ordinary warp rings to the hedgehog’s disappointment. The rings were more like bracelets being large in size. It made it so very tempting to try them on just for a moment. Surely it wouldn’t hurt. She hesitantly but eagerly place the rings on her wrist to admire for a moment. but when she decided she had her fill she moved to remove the bracelets only to find she couldn’t. Like any sane and rational being who was dealt with this situation she panicked. Unbeknownst to her panic awoke belated chao power sending pink sparks and bolts of energy from her quills. And that power awakened something that resided within the space the pink hedgehog was currently inhabiting. A loud rusty creaking sound jolted the hedgehog from her panic, arising a new fear that she wasn’t alone. A pair of Neon blue eyes illuminating the space did nothing to ease her fears, edging her to take cover from the being view. She tried to wait the creature out in hopes it would leave but the rattling of chains and continuous unpleasant creaking noise dashed those hopes. the hedgehog start devising a way to escape undetected until her ears picked up something. A sadly familiar sound. The rattling of chains told her that the creature was securely contained within the opposite side of the room. Normally this would bring relief but it was the sound that accompanied the chains that made her heart ache. A whirring sound that almost sounded like whining as the creature fought against the chains. It wasn’t a monstrous beast fighting to free itself to hunt her down, no it was trapped and it was afraid.
Coming to that conclusion she decides she'll try to get a better look of the creature and maybe help them. Upon closer expectation the creature was a robot and it was in fact afraid. Now the robot was even more afraid, learning it wasn’t alone backing itself into the wall it was chained to. Taking note of this the hedgehog approaches the robot as slowly and non threateningly as possible. with caution and care Amy managed to get close enough to the robot to free them from their shackles or at least she tried. It turns out the shackles were a lot harder to remove then she anticipated. She would need to find a key if there were one.
Sometime later the hedgehog had become increasingly frustrated upon realization that there were in fact no keys for the shackles. if there was one they were long gone with whatever jerk who decided to lock up the poor thing. The poor thing in question fears had long disappeared now replaced with amusement of the pink hedgehog's failed attempts to free them. Despite the seemingly hopeless situation they were in, they couldn’t help but feel content that they weren’t alone. At least for now. Unfortunately for them those feelings were short lived as the pink hedgehog growing frustration had triggered her powers which in turn caused both inhabitants to panic. The chao energy surges into the ring bracelet activating some form of ancient power. The sudden unknown power emerging from the relics did nothing to decrease their increasing panic. Just when strange power reached its peak it summoned something strange within its light then the power surge ceased. As the pink hedgehog’s eyes adjusted from the blinding light she locked on to a large hammer that she was pretty sure wasn’t there before. And judging from the confusion in the robot eyes? He didn’t have any prior knowledge of the new tool. turning her attention back to the strange new object she couldn’t help, but feel that it was calling to her. then an idea came to mind. The idea in question didn’t give the hedgehog much comfort, not knowing what the new weapon could affect her upon contact. Having no other option she hesitantly took hold of the hammer’s handle. When no negative effect followed she adjusted her hold into a tight one and lifted it. It was heavier than she expected but she managed. She then returned her focus back to the now very nervous robot who must have caught on her plan. The hedgehog could only offer a few words of encouragement and promise to be as careful as she could. The robot's confidence still waned But seeing that there were no other options, they straightened himself as if to say “bring it on”. Taking his gesture as saying he was ready, she took two confidence swings at the Shackles,Taking care to put enough force to shatter his restraints, and not his wrists. with that the robot was free. After a brief celebration the Hedgehog decided it was about time she properly introduced herself to her possible new friend. She introduced herself as Amy rose while also quickly apologizing for the rough first impression. Amy then asked for the robot name and if he would like to be her friend. The robot nodded eagerly but didn’t seem to feel inclined to answer The first question. Or maybe he couldn’t. The robot hadn’t spoken a word since they both met. This didn’t bother Amy in the slightest If he didn’t wanna talk, she would give him all the time he needed. If he couldn’t talk, then they would just have to find a better way to communicate. Figuring out if he had a name would have to be to the start. She rephrased her first question asking if he had a name. maybe she could guess it through yes or no questions maybe charades. The robot looked down solemnly and shook his head. With that response, Amy's anger towards the robot's creator deepened but she buried those feelings for now. There were more important things right now, like finding a perfect name for her new friend. Plus she didn’t wanna make him think her anger was directed towards him. So she took a breath and suggested they make a game out of it. Amy would suggest some names and see which the robot liked best. At first, she suggested some silly ones just to get a reaction which succeeded in pulling him out of his gloomy mood. Later along the line, she got a bit more serious with the names, but none seem to fit. After some time though , they finally settled for Metal. It was simple, but it felt right.
At this moment their loneliness came to an end and their bright yet tragic story of friendship began.
As the seasons passed Amy and Metal’s bond grew stronger with each trial they faced surviving together alone. They share everything, their struggles, strengths, weaknesses and even their hopes and dreams. Amy dreamed of one day exploring other worlds, going on adventures and meeting new people. While Metal was content with things staying just the way they were, by Amy’s side. But making Amy happy meant the world to him. If it meant a little change to their status quo Metal would do anything to make Amy‘s dream come to fruition. The only problem lied in the lack of rings. During his time spent with Miss Rose, he came to learn that rings were a form of currency and a way they travel between worlds. And Rose didn’t have much access to them. There weren’t many ways to make rings while staying in hiding so Amy mostly scraped by throughout her life.
This way of life for his friend never sat well with Metal. how was she ever to achieve her goal if she never took what she deserved. If Amy couldn’t reach her goal Metal decided he would do whatever it takes to help Amy get what she wanted. or at the moment what she needed ,what she needed was rings, and he knew just where to get them. The arena.
In the past Amy had mentioned that some chose (or were forced) to partake in battles against opponents to win rings. Sure, Amy had warned him of the dangers and their unsavory practices but Metal would be careful. Besides, he was built sturdy and he was confident the fighters in the arena were inferior to his power. In way he was right, he was victorious in battle and got the rings he need but at a cost. He had greatly underestimated his opponents leaving him a bit worse for wear. His condition was not preferable but he got what he needed and Amy joy would be worth it. Unfortunately what Metal got was in fact the opposite. Amy flipped out when metal return not even paying mine to the pouch of ring he held. Which led to an argument between friends. Amy was furious, how could Metal do something so stupid and reckless. With how damaged metal was, Amy doubted she could repair him. The chance of finding someone who could was just as slim as finding some who wouldn't try to take him apart. Metal on the other hand had grown frustrated that she hadn’t acknowledged his prize and only greeted him with rage. When Amy finally took notice of the pouch of rings she softened and her fury subsided. She was touched that he went this far to do someone special for her but reaffirmed that what he did was extremely stupid and dangerous. If he had died in that arena she would have never known. She tells him that she would rather have him then some dumb rings and make him promise not to do anything like that again. Metal nodded, feeling warm at his friend’s care and concern for him. He knew how much he needed her but he never considered how much she needed him or cared for him. Before they moved on from the topic, Amy made it clear to him that they’re not using the rings for her. They would be using the rings to find someone they could trust to repair him. Metal shakingly nods seeing how stern Amy was with this demand.
This is where team sonic comes in.
After some trial and error they eventually find themselves on earth. Metal’s condition grew increasingly dire with each world they traversed. With each venture Amy grew more determined to save her friend, despite the hopelessness. Fortunately, her strong resolve paid off when she ran into one of the Wachowski bros, Sonic. unfortunately upon Sonic's first encounter with Metal mistook him for a banged up badnik looking for trouble. So he attacked Metal which led to a misunderstanding when Amy came to defend her friend. She made it clear that she wouldn’t let Sonic do any further harm to her friend. If he dared to try again he would have to go through her and her hammer. At that moment Amy brought some clarity to the situation, that Metal wasn’t a threat. Upon realizing this sonic was quick to apologize. He even offered his help, vouching for his little brother Tails who was the best man for the job to repair metal’s damage (and the one’s he caused). Not having any other options, Amy took on his offer despite Metal’s grievances. As promised, Tails was able to repair metal to the best of his ability (though there would be some kinks to work out, Metal was an ancient piece of work). When the looming threat of the possibility of losing her friend and sonic proving to be trustworthy she decided to properly introduce themselves. Sonic in turn reintroduced himself and his brother’s tails the fox and knuckles the echidna. Sonic also proudly claimed they were the trusted protectors of Green Hills and earth. This piqued her interest and excitement, past transgressions ALMOST forgotten. She was meeting heroes who probably had all kinds of cool and exciting adventures. She wanted to know everything and Sonic was happy to oblige. Metal was not happy he did not like nor trust these.. “heroes” And wanted nothing to do with them. He hoped Amy would follow suit but she was too enamored by the blue idiot’s stories.
As Amy spent more and more time with team Sonic (mostly sonic) she grew to be closer to the gang. This closest in turn made Metal feel more and more out of place. He started to notice some things that he never felt when it was just him and Amy. he noticed how his fingers could never quite intertwine with Amy’s as perfectly as they did with Sonic’s. He noticed that he could never enjoy a meal with Amy like Sonic. And that he could never make Amy feel special in the same way Sonic did. Metal slowly grew to envy and resent Sonic for simply existing. These unchecked emotions eventually lead to an outburst and misunderstanding between Sonic and Metal. The incident drove a wedge in Amy and metal’s friendship(at least in metal’s eyes). Leading to Metal wander off alone to sulk. He was vulnerable. Vulnerable enough for a certain doctor robotnik to take advantage of him. Offering twisted promises that he could refine Metal, making him no longer inferior to Sonic. If this could make him do all the things Sonic could do and more he would do whatever it took to get Amy to smile for him. And only him.

welcm to cy's hot takes, where my takes might fire back at me 😭
sorry in advance! 😭 -
this hot take is about YOUR HOT TAKES!
Welcome to the cyber ANNIVERSARY! It's been a year on Tumblr! So I'm sharing your takes! 💋 I'm giving CREDITS to my hot takers SOOOO enjoy the show!
(made on Nov 9 (my anniversary) - Nov 13
@inlovewithdob : Should’ve made Thomasa (Thomas and Teresa) siblings/twins -
I see this for so many reasons, image Teresa betraying Thomas but they are siblings!! THATS DRAMAAA and it makes sense!!!
゚:。 ִ ✿𝆬 ⁔⁔ ۪ ⊹ ֗ ꫂ
@kestis-advent : Don't know if it's a hot take, but. WICKD was really stupid, and the more you think about their experiment with the maze the less it makes sense or the more you think you could have found an answer faster than them and without harming anyone. -
I had a project at school about TMR and about if WCKD was good or not, BRO! I was in a mid field and had to explain this in my essay, 10/10 hot take
゚:。 ִ ✿𝆬 ⁔⁔ ۪ ⊹ ֗ ꫂ
@thepersassiest : HOT TAKE Y’ALL ARE GOING TO HATE ME FOR THIS ONE (and I say this as a hardcore Newtmas shipper who can only see Newt as gay) Newt is NOT canonically gay. Trashner only “confirmed” it years afterword for clout and fanservice. Same way JK Rowling only claimed Dumbledore was gay years afterword for inclusion’s sake; without actually putting in the work to make the character real representation. Don’t get me wrong, the subtext is all there and I completely headcannon Newt as gay. But attacking people who hc him as straight or bi or write f!self inserts with him is not necessary. yes, straight washing queer characters is bad!! but it isn’t straight washing when the character was not confirmed queer to begin with. -
Yeah I see this as a good thing to note. One time as I was searching about TMR, I didn't know he was gay until I found Maze Cutter. So thank you for speaking about this.
゚:。 ִ ✿𝆬 ⁔⁔ ۪ ⊹ ֗ ꫂ
@wildbwills : guess I’d just say book newt is cooler 😎
- FACTS, HES SASSY AS HELL IN THE BOOKS 📚 LOVE HIM !!!
゚:。 ִ ✿𝆬 ⁔⁔ ۪ ⊹ ֗ ꫂ
@ssseashell : !! i would say my hot take is that the whole plot for the third movie is way better than the 3rd book’s plot. Minho’s rescue was so much better than just the ‘running from wicked and destroy them’ plot from the book -
I haven't finished Death Cure book yet. But yeah I loved the third movie, it's second place for the Maze Runner trilogy for me.
Thanks for a year on this platform!! And 30 followers!! Thank you and good bye 🫂

Look, I'm not going to pretend like the class analysis of this show was perfect. I think that element tailed off about halfway through when it segued into being a more serial story from the earlier case of the week episodes, but I'm sorry, most of these points are just factually incorrect or an incredibly ungenerous reading of the show's intent.
We got confirmation that Grandpa was a great guy who built a giant real estate empire purely through grit and hard work and never did anything wrong in his life
We did not get this at all, the show repeatedly says that Grandpa is going to hell, and that the family curse (which was obviously greed) got to him too
Any harm that came to people and communities because of the company was indeed the result of Home’s uniquely evil aunt and uncle who acted without his or his grandpa’s knowledge
They acted without Home’s knowledge because Home was a minor or not in the country for most of it, but I felt it was very clear that even if Grandpa did not himself switch the contracts, he definitely knew about it and didn’t stop it.
The plot culminated in a poor character once again sacrificing himself to save the rich kid
This might just be a semantic issue but Peach didn’t go to the small house to sacrifice himself to save Home, he went there with the intention of rescuing Home, it’s not implied at all that he thinks he’s going to die.
As expected, Peach gave up his dream job to stay for Home even though there was no logical reason they couldn’t do their project in Chiang Mai (he has never been able to hear the ghosts so that attempt to say it was because of dialects was extra sloppy)
I mean he says he doesn’t want to move again, and they have friends in Bangkok so it makes sense he might want to stay - he didn’t apply to the job in Chiang Mai as a specific dream he applied because he was just applying to tons of restaurant jobs and they were the ones who replied. (and like, they could do their project in Chiang Mai, but if their project is "open a restaurant together" then why do they have to?) His dream, as stated several times, is to open a chef’s table restaurant, which is what he does. (and the thing about ghosts speaking in dialect was so obviously something he made up to continue his tsundere act, not sloppy writing)
Instead of actually training properly as a chef again like Peach wanted, he had a chefs table he has in no way earned handed to him by his rich friend, ultimately ending the show with a message that capitalism is benevolent and is what made their happy ending possible
“Training properly as a chef” wasn’t what he was going to be doing in Chiang Mai either, he was going to be working as one, which is what he wanted, and what he is still doing. And like, inexperienced chefs open restaurants all the time (this isn’t even the first gmmtv show this year to have it) People with lots of money invest in restaurants because they like the chef’s vision all the time. And we’ve seen that Home is actively using his money to try and redress specific harms his family has caused (paying Rak’s mother, giving the magician the house, getting Kan’s community their rights back) The show was never going to be about tearing the entire system down.
Speaking of, the only happy ending Kan and Suradech got was the honor of continuing to be Home’s employees. That Home did not even do anything for Kan’s community after everything she suffered is definitely one of the biggest WTFs in this show.
I mean he literally did. He exposed the falsified contract and the terms of the original contract were being honoured. And also, Kan and Suradech both have jobs?? Which they are free to continue with or leave as they personally see fit?? These two points are exact opposites btw, you can’t complain that Peach gets a cushy dream job handed to him thanks to capitalism and then also complain that Kan and Suradech don’t, and also that Home should have done MORE benevolent capitalism.
And on that note--Home got a huge inheritance and appears to have used zero of it to address the harm his family did
The show ends like three days after he nearly gets murdered, give him like, a week off from repeated major head traumas before you go attacking him; it’s also pretty clear from everything he does in the show and the choices he makes about the various ghosts in the first half that he does care about addressing the harm his family did. We also don’t see him use the inheritance HIMSELF for anything other than providing for other people - he doesn’t even buy new clothes over the course of the show, which takes place over at least a couple of months.
A quick summary of how the class disparity themes in Peaceful Property ultimately landed in the finale:
We got confirmation that Grandpa was a great guy who built a giant real estate empire purely through grit and hard work and never did anything wrong in his life
Any harm that came to people and communities because of the company was indeed the result of Home’s uniquely evil aunt and uncle who acted without his or his grandpa’s knowledge

The only thing I have to say about it at this point is:
#sorry guys#watching simm got me back in my hidden agenda headspace#like i don't think this show was perfect but none of these things are why not#peaceful property#gmmtv#taynew#tay tawan#newwiee
