How do you feel about Stanley? Would you say you’re friends with him, or just a buddy you can chat with? And how do you think The Narrator feels about you talking to him?

“As for how the Narrator feels…I could care less. I’m sure he doesn’t like our little chats, but it doesn’t matter. He’ll be gone soon.”

👻 (2 or 3 sentences from something you haven’t posted yet): Full disclosure this is like- outlining and first draft, so it probably won’t be like this when I do eventually (hopefully) publish it.

“Ah, so he told you.” Mateo doesn’t even fully look up

“He did.”

“I figured, he said he would soon.”

⭐️(how do you get your inspiration?): It depends on what I’m writing. Sometimes I see ideas from other people, and I’m like wow, that’s a good idea (I credit these when this happens and I don’t do it unless I have permission). Sometimes there’s a situation I know had to have happened at some point, and I want to explore how it could’ve gone down (that’s what the above few sentences are from). Sometimes it’s literally just “what if I put my little guy in Situations?” Like I literally have a note on my phone titled something along the lines of “I just wanna write Aziraphale having a panic attack” lmao. A lot of it I feel is me writing something I want to be able to read, because I know what I like.

✏️(favorite part of writing): Rereading my own work. I’m really fond of my own writing, and while sometimes I’m in a place of not really liking it, at the end of the day, I write what I like, and rereading my own work always makes me so happy. Especially if it’s been a while because then it’s almost fresh. Second is when I’ve rewritten a scene several times and I finally get it Just How I Want It????? Makes my heart happy.

“Stanley…he’s a mixed bag, that one. I don’t think he likes me very much. Honestly, I just can’t see why. I made such a wonderful story for him, why would he want to disobey? And, I’m not just talking about the alternate endings, no, no, no. He seems almost determined to break my game.”

“As for the Timekeeper…hmph. he’s a little strange, I have to say. Quite solitary, but helpful when he wants to be. I appreciate his technological expertise. However, he’s a bad influence on Stanley. It’s funny you mention those two in particular— they seem to have something going on.”

[ papers shuffle quietly. ]

“They’re always talking between resets, but I can’t tell what. In fact, I think Stanley’s disobedient streak began around the same time their conversations started. I don’t know what that worm is doing to my protagonist, but it needs to stop. If only I could get in touch with him..”
