4, 10, and 17 for the writers' asks! <3
hi morgan! hope things are well with you! thanks for the ask <3
4. What fandom’s/ship’s fan fiction do you read the most?
These days I am very much in a junhao mood. Honestly, I'm not reading much fanfiction these days; I've got a lot going on. Been reading this excellent junhao as a little treat though.
10. Mutual pining or enemies to friends to lovers?
Ooh, tough one. Both are delicious. I think I'm going to steal your answer, though, and say enemies to lovers with mutual pining squeezed in. The opportunities for mutual pining while they're going from friends to lovers and still hung up on being enemies... delicious.
17. Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.
Since you liked the post I made about it earlier, I'll tell you about the junhao call off your dog fic. It is so much in the 'ideas' stage that I don't even have a name for it and wasn't certain how to refer to it just now.
Essentially, they are teenagers and Minghao's parents send him somewhere to spy/be a double agent. His parents are kind of shitty. That's not relevant - well - it is, really - but it needs to be said. Anyway. Junhui is wherever he's infiltrating, and they become friends, and Minghao makes horribly pained expressions about it all. He's really good at being a double agent, except Junhui is also really good at knowing him, and also really good at showing Minghao that he doesn't have to blindly obey his parents if it's Morally Dubious and also Making Him Miserable. It's a revelation for Minghao. Junhui is a revelation for Minghao.
Fast forward a few years and Minghao is very much Junhui's guard dog. They're both very devoted and, frankly, rabidly obsessed. Good for them. There are more problems of the Whatever Minghao's Parents Wanted A Double Agent For variety but they get through the problems with the power of love and being very cool and wearing jeans with rips at the knees.

Deepest Secret
Pairing: Wen Junhui | Jun/Xu Minghao | The8
Group: Seventeen
Rating: T (Teen and Up Audiences)
Word Count: 1K
Key Words: Secrets, Established Relationship, Assassins

Junhui and Minghao didn’t have many secrets in their relationship. They knew everything about each other. They told each other everything, whether they thought it was big or small, they talked about it. They knew that communication was one of the most important parts of making any relationship work. They tried to be as transparent as possible with one another.
Except Junhui did have one little secret. And, okay, maybe little was a bit of an understatement. It was a pretty big secret. He had finally decided to tell Minghao, but he was pretty scared about it. Honestly, he had no idea how his boyfriend would take the news.
You see, Junhui was an assassin. He worked undercover for the government to take out threats to national security. And he was good at it too. One of the best even. He used his expert knowledge of martial arts to dispatch some of the most dangerous people in the world. His targets were neutralized before they could even get a single hit in. Most of the time anyways. When they did get a lucky shot in, he was always able to convince Minghao that it was the result of a clumsy accident.
He had no clue how Minghao was going to handle the news. Sure, the younger knew dangerous martial arts as well, but he had only learned it for possible self-defense. Minghao was a gentle soul, so learning that his boyfriend killed people for a living? He might not be able to handle it.
That’s probably what scared Junhui the most about telling Minghao what his real job was, was the very real possibility that he could lose him. Junhui had never cared about anybody as much as he cared about Minghao. He didn’t know what he’d do with himself if they weren’t together anymore. But Minghao deserved to know. He couldn’t hide this from him anymore.
He was interrupted in his thoughts by the sight of Minghao slinking in through the front door. He seemed not to have noticed Junhui sitting on the couch, so he observed him silently. He’d been gone on a business trip for three days, and it seemed to have taken a toll on him. He had dark bags around his eyes and his normally glowing skin looked pale and dull. He looked just about dead on his feet. Junhui was impressed that he was managing to drag his heavy black duffle bag to their room.
Seeing Minghao so tired made Junhui not want to tell him tonight. Maybe he would wait until he was more well-rested. Tell him when he’d had a few more days to fall back into a normal rhythm at home. But no, he couldn’t do that. He had an assignment in two days that he’d have to leave for. And if he didn’t tell Minghao now, he’d lose his nerve and never tell him.
He took a deep breath as Minghao walked back in, trying to steel his nerves. Minghao looked so cute and soft in a pair of sweatpants and one of Junhui’s larger shirts. He seemed to be headed towards the kitchen, and it looked as though something was bothering him.
“Hao Hao? Can you come here?”
Minghao looked confused, but made his way over to the couch, settling himself in Junhui’s lap, as he often did when he was sleepy. He smiled tiredly as he looked up at Junhui.
“Yes Junnie?”
He grabbed Minghao’s hand in his, and began playing with his fingers, something he only did when he was nervous.
“I’ve got something really important to tell you.”
Minghao sighed, face falling. “Me too.”
Junhui furrowed his brow. What important thing did Minghao have to tell him? Had he been hiding something from him this whole time too? Was that why he had looked so bothered earlier?
“Can um, can I go first?” At Minghao’s nod he took a deep breath and let the words fall from his lips. “I’m a government assassin.”
Now, Junhui wasn’t sure what he was expecting Minghao’s reaction to be, maybe disgust, sadness, possibly anger. He’d even imagined a scenario where Minghao had slapped him across the face. It wasn’t likely, but he sure had thought about it. But this, never in a million years did he expect Minghao’s response to be laughter. And it wasn’t laughter of disbelief either, just pure, joyful laughter spilling out of Minghao like a waterfall.
He stared at Minghao, waiting for him to finish laughing. He eventually settled down, giggling quietly in his lap.
“I’m so glad that’s all.”
“What do you mean ‘That’s all’, I kill people for a living Hao.”
“Me too. That’s what I wanted to tell you.”
Junhui felt as if his world was crashing down around him. He couldn’t believe it. His sweet, little Minghao, a government assassin? There was no way. Besides, he’s pretty sure he would have seen him at headquarters before.
“You, you’re an assassin? For the government?”
Minghao grinned proudly, “Yep, best there is.”
“Really, you’re the best? Cause I like to think I’m pretty good.”
Minghao laughed happily. “Ever heard of The8?”
Now, Junhui had to believe him. The8 was the codename for an assassin that every other assassin had heard of, but no civilian had. Minghao was definitely an assassin for the government but why was he asking about The8?
“Yeah. Legendary assassin, considered to be the best sniper in the history of China’s secret agencies. Why?”
Minghao leaned towards him, lips brushing against his ear as he whispered, “That’s me.”
Junhui laughed, burying his head in Minghao’s chest. “Of course you are.”
When he finally relaxed, he pressed his lips to Minghao’s, feeling him melt into the kiss. When they parted, he smiled softly as he gazed into Minghao’s eyes. They shone so bright, true happiness making them light up. Their talk may not have gone the way he expected it to, but he wouldn’t have traded it for anything.
He stood up, standing Minghao on his feet, “All right, let’s get you some food Mr. Assassin, I’m sure you’re ready to go to bed.”
Minghao only laughed, following him happily to the kitchen.

The Guardians of Hogwarts Chap.3
(Just a little update. I need to find some more inspiration to write more. Hope this isn’t too disappointing.)
________________________________________________________
“I’m sorry, but I don’t understand. What is going on? Sir?” Hansol looked at the headmaster then back at the door, the room where his boyfriend, Seungkwan was currently locked in.
“Mr Boo has told you everything?” Headmaster Yu waited till Hansol replied before continuing. “His powers are getting out of control, the same is happening to the rest of the guardians right now. We’re not sure why.”
“We-well can’t you do something? Seungkwan needs our help. What about Jihoon? Can he do something?” Hansol started to panic, he could hear Seungkwan’s sobbing, the banging on the door getting too much. “I’m going to find Jihoon.” Moving closer to the door, Hansol knocked on the door. “Boo, I’ll be right back, I’m going to find Jihoon, everything is going to be ok.”
Feeling a gust of wind, both the headmaster and Hansol looked up, looking at Jihoon and Jeonghan as they landed in front of them.
“There’s no need to look for me, Hansol.” Jihoon’s eyes were narrowed as he looked at the headmaster. “Open that door. I said open the door!” Jihoon’s hand shot up and with one smooth movement, the door burst open. “Jeonghan, I need you to hold Hansol back.”
Walking into the room, Jihoon looked at Seungkwan with sad eyes. ‘Everything will be alright, Seungkwannie, we’re here, Hansol is here as well.’
“We all need to come together, Hansol, it’s the only way we can save everyone.” Jeonghan had blocked them off with a wall of ice. “We are being punished for being in love, aren’t we headmaster?” Jeonghan clenched his fist in anger. “Aren’t we, headmaster!?”
“I’d rather die than give up my love for Seungcheol.” Jihoon walked out, holding onto Seungkwan. “Hansol, I need you to carry him for me. We’re going to do this now, before we lose anyone.”
The headmaster hung his head as they walked past him. There was nothing he could do for them.
“Guardians aren’t supposed to love, it was my job to keep you apart.” Sighing, the headmaster looked up at Jihoon. “I never meant for this to happen, Mr Lee. If there is any-”
“I need you to leave us alone, we don’t need you, we never needed you.” Jihoon didn’t spare him a glance, instead he locked eyes with Chan who appeared behind the headmaster. “And if you have anything to add to this, go ahead, but we’re moving now.”
“There is a first time for everything, Headmaster Yu. You can’t blame them for loving someone.” Chan frowned as he walked over to the guardians. “You told me to keep an eye on them, to report everything they did. But wanting to force them apart was just too cruel.”
“You-!” Taking a deep breath, Jihoon motioned for them to keep going. “I’ll deal with you later, I don’t care that you’re the headmaster.” Jihoon walked backwards, crossing his arms making a slashing motion, covering the hallway in vines.
“You need some more explaining to do Channie.” Jeonghan smiled softly. “Thank you for not doing what he said you had to do.” Wrapping an arm around Chan’s shoulder, Jeonghan kissed Chan’s head, making the younger whine.
“Hyung! Wh-what if he sees?” Chan looked around quickly, to see if he could catch a glimpse of a certain Hufflepuff, pouting as he didn’t.
“I still want to know what you are, what is your role in this?” Jihoon had his arms crossed, glaring at the young Slytherin but quickly distracted once he felt his boyfriend’s presence. “Ah, Seungcheol’s close!”
“I only know what the headmaster has told me, nothing more, I promise!” Chan looked down. “His actions were uncalled for, but I promise I never once approved of what he did.”
“Guys, I’m sorry to interrupt, but Seungkwan just changed.” Hansol looked down at his boyfriend. “I-is this normal?” He looked up, looking at Jihoon.
Jihoon smiled softly, walking over to them and caressing Seungkwan’s hair.
“Very.” Chuckling softly, Jihoon tried not to cry. “He has found himself, I guess being with your soulmate is enough, I think in your hearts you found each other before I even needed to do something.”
“Still, Minghao, Junhui, Mingyu and Wonwoo still need our help, Jihoon.” Jeonghan bit his lip, worried. “Minghao was in so much panic, he completely lost control over his power and Mingyu still hasn’t transformed back.”
Sighing, Jihoon led them out of the castle. His smile widened as he spotted Seungcheol.
“Hello gorgeous.” Seungcheol wrapped his arms around Jihoon’s waist as the Slytherin flew into his arms, chuckling softly as Jihoon’s face turned red. “Minghao seems to do a bit better, Junhui is still unconscious.”
Patting Hansol’s back, Jeonghan made his way over to Mingyu and Wonwoo.
“How are you doing Wonnie?” Jeonghan placed his hands on the fire guardian’s face, cooling it down a bit. “I see Mingyu’s still the same.”
Chan walked over to Junhui, smiling softly at Minghao.
“I’m not going to hurt him, hyung.” Chan noticed he was being stared at, looking up he saw it was Jihoon, sighing he cleared his throat. “I guess I’ll have to tell you now huh?” Rubbing the back of his neck, Chan started speaking. “I’m actually a healer, not like Madam Bae though, I can heal with my hands.”
Jihoon frowned, he read about it in his book, but healers went extinct millions of years ago.
“Ho-how, they went extinct millions of years ago, they were frowned upon and killed on the spot.” Jihoon rubbed his arms.
“You exist as well, right? Guardians may not be extinct but it has been what? 500 years since the last ones? And yet, you guys are here.” Chan smiled sadly. “It’s not like I asked for this. I only ever told one person before I went to Madam Bae with this.”
“Soonyoung….” Seungkwan groggily said, his head rested against Hansol’s shoulder. “He would never shut up about you. Leader, do you think Soonyoung needs to be here as well?”
Waving his hands around, Jihoon made trees grow around them, still letting some sunlight in.
“No! No more people!” Jihoon groaned. “This is all too much! The guardians are my first priority! Everything else can come later!” Jihoon shrugged Seungcheol’s hands from his shoulders, his wings ruffling. “Can you help us or not?” He looked at Chan who nodded quickly.
“There doesn’t seem to be any injuries on Junhui, he just passed out due to Minghao hyung’s power. As for Mingyu hyung.” Chan looked at Wonwoo. “May I?” Holding his hand above Mingyu’s head, Chan waited for Wonwoo’s approval. “Seungcheol hyung, you have telepathy right? Can you see if you can communicate with Mingyu hyung?”
Wonwoo frowned, what did he need Seungcheol’s power for? His Mingyu is fine, right?
“Wonwoo, since this happened, have you heard Mingyu’s voice, once?” Seungcheol carefully looked at Wonwoo who looked at him in shock. “I can’t connect to him….Wonwoo.”
“N-no, he’s there! I know he is! He recognized me! It’s because of him that I changed back!” Wonwoo’s tears flowed freely over his cheeks. “Jeonghan! Tell him! You saw it! Mingyu didn’t hurt me!” Wonwoo’s eyes widened as the water guardian looked away.
“Wonwoo, Minghao, I need you to look at us.” Jihoon motioned at himself, Jeonghan and Seungkwan. “We found ourselves, our true selves, thanks to our soulmates.” Jihoon kneeled down onto the ground. “I need both of you to try and connect with them more, believe in them. Let your heart scream out for them.”
Grasping onto their hands, Jihoon closed his eyes, the crystal shining a bright blue.
“Your hearts need to be one, if needed, travel back to when you first met, your very first memories of them. Believe in each other.” Jeonghan said, looking up as Jisoo walked closer to him. “It’s how Jisoo found me, it’s how I found myself.”
Minghao looked down at Junhui, carefully placing his hand on Junhui’s chest. He closed his eyes as he thought back to when he first met the Ravenclaw.
“No way! You’re chinese too!?” Junhui had climbed over the table in the dining hall. “You’re the first chinese person I’ve met here!” Junhui smiled widely, holding out his hand. “I’m Moon Junhui!”
Minghao had mumbled his name, shyly shaking his hand with the Ravenclaw.
“You don’t like talking, do you?” Junhui laughed, slinging an arm around Minghao’s shoulder. “That’s alright!”
Minghao’s face was red and his heart was beating fast as Junhui pulled him even closer, listening to him as the Ravenclaw went on and on about some chinese game.
Minghao watched as Junhui rejected yet another love confession. His heart squeezing in his chest. ‘How are they so brave…’
“There you are.” Junhui approached Minghao with a smile. “Sorry for making you wait so long.”
“Why don’t you ever accept them? The confessions I mean.” Minghao played with the hem of his sweater.
“There is someone, someone who’s much more important.” Junhui gently grabbed Minghao’s hand, raising it to his lips, pressing a kiss against the back of it as he winked at the younger. “Now, let's get you those ingredients, ok?”
Minghao stared after the Ravenclaw in shock. ‘Did he just wink at me? Did he just ki-’ Shaking his head, Minghao quickly followed him.
Carefully pressing his forehead against Junhui’s, Minghao grabbed onto Junhui’s hand.
“I need you, Junhui. You know I can’t be without you. You’re the one keeping me sane. Don’t you dare leave me.” Letting out a shuddering breath, Minghao pressed his lips against his lovers. ‘I love you so much, Moon Junhui.’
A bright light blinded everyone, the crackling sound of thunder was heard above them. Once the light was gone, they opened their eyes again.
“Hey beautiful.” Junhui lifted his hand, caressing Minghao’s face, smiling softly. “I heard everything, I saw everything.”
Minghao slowly opened his eyes. Trembling, he quickly held onto Junhui’s hand that was caressing his face.
“Y-you’re here, oh my god.” Laughing weakly, Minghao turned his head, pressing his lips against the palm of Junhui’s hand. “I’m so sorry for what I did.”
“Shh, you didn’t do anything.” Junhui smiled as he pulled the younger closer. “Remind me to fawn over your appearance later.” Chuckling softly, Junhui pressed a kiss against the top of Minghao’s head.
Jihoon on the other hand looked over at Mingyu and Wonwoo worriedly. Taking the crystal in his hand, he walked over to them.
“Wonwoo, I know this is hard. But you have to try.” Placing the crystal in Wonwoo’s hand, Jihoon smiled softly. “We’ll be right here, ok? Just take your time, Mingyu is in there, he hasn’t taken his eyes off of you for even a second.”
“Maybe he’s thinking of a way to eat me….” Wonwoo tried to joke but quickly shut up at the look on Jihoon’s face. “I am trying, Jihoon. But I don’t have myself in control at all, I’m scared to touch him, I’m scared that I’ll burn him, what if he has started to hate me?”
‘Jihoonie, the other guardians have passed out, do I need to bring them to the infirmary?’ Seungcheol helped Jisoo lay Jeonghan down.
“Mingyu could never hate you, silly.” Jihoon cupped Wonwoo’s face, smiling softly. “He loves you more than anything, if he weren’t for you, he wouldn’t have taken this lightly. He accepted you because he loves you. Try, ok? That’s all I’m asking.”
‘It’s better if we stay together, Cheol. Ask Chan if he can do something as well. I’m staying close to Wonwoo, just in case.’ Jihoon looked over his shoulder, smiling. Truth be told, he was exhausted but he needed to be strong, he needed to stay awake for Wonwoo and Mingyu.
“They went through a lot, but they should be just fine.” Chan smiled softly at Hansol who had freaked out. “I’m sure Seungkwan will tell you everything once he wakes up.” Chan looked up at the sky. “Seungcheol hyung….I do think I need to tell you about Soonyoung.”
“I’m listening.” Seungcheol looked at the younger Slytherin, his arms crossed as he listened to Chan.

Junhui stated blankly at the plain white wall just over his therapists left shoulder. "Is there anything more you want to say?" she asked.
Junhui shrugged, slightly shaking his head no.
"Well that concludes our session today," she smiled slightly and leaned forward. "I do hope you'll try better next time."
Junhui nodded and stood up to leave. I'm not sure there'll be a next time.
He climbed into his car and drove with no destination in mind. It was only after he'd reached the large black hats that he'd realised where he'd ended up once again.
Sighing he got out and pushed the gate wide open allowing himself to pass through. He walked along the rows upon rows of headstones protruding out the ground and made his way to the one on the third row.
He knelt down before a grave and stared at the stone bearing the name: Jeon Wonwoo 1996 - 2018
His heart clenched and he had to force the air out of his lungs and pull it back in. An old memory, like a vintage photo passed through his mind, but he quickly shoved it away, compressing the building ball of emotions building up at the pit of his stomach.
He sat there a bit longer humming a slow tune to himself before deciding to leave and head back home where Minghao was waiting for him.
...
"Hey, where were you?" Minghao asked, looking up at the sound of the door clicking open.
Junhui closed the door behind him, "I went to visit him again."
Minghao stiffened, "How was he?"
Junhui lifted a shoulder slightly, and dropped it. "Same as always I guess."
Minghao tried to give him the sweetest of smiles, his lips straining with the effort.
Junhui was completely oblivious to all this, and simply walked past him to his bedroom and shut the door behind him.
He lay on his bed and stared at the ceiling. There wasn't much he wanted to do these days. Not without Wonwoo anyway.
His heart didn't ache or anything when he thought of him. He didn't feel a pang of sadness in his chest. He didn't feel like breaking down into sobs until his body would tire. He just felt an empty void in his soul. A place that needed filing up.
He felt lost and alone.
He wished he could cry it out. Or maybe even break everything in the house in anger. He wished he'd at least feel something. But all his thoughts were a series of blanks, leaving him feeling vacant and bare.
With no memory of having fallen asleep, Junhui woke up and rubbed his eyes. He sat up in his bed, his muscles aching. The quick movement sent a slight throbbing in his head. Groggily he stood up and walked out his room to get a glass of water.
He found Minghao sitting at the dining table reading a book with a cup of coffee sitting not too far away.
Minghao glanced up as Junhui walked in. He didn't comment on his crumpled clothes that would suggest he'd been sleeping. He silently turned back to his book and continued to read.
After having his glass of water he sat down at the table on the opposite end to the other boy. He stared down and silently watched rippling movement of the liquid.
A few moments later Minghao look up at the boy sitting across him and examined him over his glasses curiously. He simply sat there, stiller then a statue, intently staring at his glass of water. He thought about saying something, but then thought against it, and went back to his book.
He'd always just thought he should give him space. Give him time. To figure out things on his own. And if he needed him of course he'd always be here to lend an ear or help him out.
But it had been months and there had been no change in Wen Junhui. The therapist had said they hadn't made much progress at all, if any. And though Minghao was worried out of his mind, he'd still thought all Junhui had needed was space.
He sighed. Maybe just a little more space.
Junhui stood up, leaving his glass of water untouched and left to go back to his room. He figured it was quite late and he should probably go to bed properly this time. He grabbed a towel and a few clothes and headed to the bathroom.
...
He sat in the familiar beige sofa chair facing a woman. It took him a few moments to get his bearings and he squinted his eyes trying to focus he rubbed them and squinted again.
"Let's start again, what do you last remember?" his therapist asked watching him intently, not missing a single detail about him.
When had he come here? He had no memory of driving to this dreaded place he'd sworn he'd never return to.
He shut his eyes tight trying to think. He searched in his brain left and right but all he was met with was pitch black emptiness.
What was he doing? How did he get here?
What happened?
"Well there's more progress than I've seen in weeks, you're finally talking," she beamed at him.
He didn't realise he'd asked the last one aloud.
"W-what happened?" he repeated.
"What do you last remember doing?" she asked.
"I don't know," he pinched the bridge of his nose in frustration. "I... Don't remember anything," he whispered suddenly very scared. "What did you do to me?"
"Think back to the last thing you did," she stated calmly.
"I... I was going to the shower. I was getting ready for bed."
"And then..?"
"I don't remember," he sighed. He hit his head with his knuckles again and again, over and over, "I don't remember. I don't remember. I don't remember."
The therapists hands flew forward grabbing his wrists away from his face. "Junhui stop," she said sternly. She loosened her grip slightly when she felt his arms go slack. He was staring at the ground and his face was blank once again. Back to how he usually was.
"You passed out in the shower and your friend, he called the ambulance up for you," she said lightly. "You haven't been eating anything lately and it took a toll on your body. Do you remember anything now?"
Junhui continued to stare hard at the ground, images flashed in his mind when he closed his eyes. He blinked a few times.
He was sitting up against the wall on the bathroom floor, Minghao's face directly in front of his, his eyes filled with worry and concern._
He lay on a stretcher and was being put into ambulance, Minghao running in after him.
There was an IV tube protruding out his right arm and Minghao sat in a chair at the foot of his bed head in his hands.
And all of a sudden the images changed. They warped into each other and twisted out of form.
A man swung a knife at him and he ducked out the way, only to be hit across the head with a bat.
A slash of the knife was heard and he saw a body fall. His whole world shattering, he threw a hot iron at the one at fault.
His legs gave way as he sat between them, head in his hands, and watched as a man lay on the ground, cold and eyes empty of life. His skin slowly turning blue.
He felt the images dissolve out of shape and memories they brought shredding his insides out.
And then...
Wonwoo was holding his hand smiling at him, causing his own lips to stretch out into a smile.
Wonwoo brushed his fringe out of his eyes and handed him an ice lolly and they both made a toast with their lollies before breaking out into a fit of giggles.
Wonwoo tapped his nose and the continued to watch the sunset that couldn't be more beautiful.
Wen Junhui lay on the floor, at the foot of his chair. A single tear fell out of his eye and crawled down the side of his face, dropping onto the carpet beneath him.
He blinked again as one last image flashed behind his closed eye lids.
"Sometimes the loneliest place to be is in love." It was a line from an old poem he'd read long ago. He hadn't understood it back then, and only now he was beginning to feel the full weight of its wisdom.
His therapist knelt next to him stroking his hair softly as sobs broke wracked though his whole form and he cried and cried never wanting to stop.
Hoping his reality was nothing more than a nightmare.
Praying he'd wake up soon.
...
Minghao looked around the house, but he couldn't find Junhui anywhere. He seen him come home earlier and was certain he hadn't left. And he'd checked his room and the bathrooms multiple times afraid the events of last time would once again repeat itself.
Stepping into Junhui's bedroom for the fourth time, he noticed the window wide open and quickly ran to glance out. He glances down and saw nothing but a clear pavement and sighed in relief. He looked around before noticing the bars leading up to the roof on the side of the wall, and used them as a ladder to get himself up there.
He slowly sat down slowly beside Junhui and stared out over all the rooftops at the cityscape before them.
They sat in silence for a few moments before Minghao spoke up, "Do you ever wonder what would've happened if we didn't kill him?"
Junhui didn't answer straight away. He didn't react to the question. He hadn't even moved a muscle and Minghao wondered maybe if he hadn't heard it at all.
But then he replied, his voice raspy and low,"All the time."
Minghao's eyes widened slightly. He hadn't expected such a straightforward answer or one not void of emotion. He sighed and scooted closer. He reached over to Junhui's hand resting on his thigh and placed his own over it, squeezing it lightly.
Junhui who had been staring at the stars, looked down at his hand and clenched his first and then unclenched. "I didn't deserve him..." he whispered.
"He didn't deserve you," Minghao corrected pointedly. "He abused you. You didn't like him."
"And whose fault was that? Mine. I'm the one that didn't deserve him. I'm the one that should've died. I'm the one that cheated on him." Junhui turned on him angrily, "With you!"
Minghao stared at him in shock. He didn't respond for a while and just stared at the ground. He again reached over and rubbed Junhui's arm soothingly, the atmosphere still too tense to say anything.
"But you're right," Minghao glanced up at those words. "I didn't like him," Junhui said staring at the ground.
"I loved him." He stared straight up at the stars again, at the twinkling constellations, with more emotion than the other boy had seen in months. The light from the stars reflected off his eyes as frustration swirled in together with the pain and Minghao wondered what else he was feeling.
Junhui sighed and looked up at the sky, "Why couldn't he be the one sitting next to me right now? Why did you come to my house that day; a fight was inevitable." Tears welled in Junhui's eyes and he quickly wiped them away.
He glanced to his side and half smiled, and a chill ran down Minaghao’s spine. "If you hadn't died, none of this would've happened in the first place.
