Do you think Toxie Doxie should be revamped into Wanda's villain or just stay as a Carol Danvers' villain?
Toxie Doxie isn't a Carol Danvers villain-- she's only been in one issue of Captain Marvel and it was a weird Christmas special with Santa Claus. Beyond that, they've only ever fought each other in ensemble books. Their stories and origins do not intersect in any meaningful way.
Also, I don't know if you know this, but sometimes villains can just exist as themselves or as part of a group without having to be assigned to a specific hero. I feel like there's a weird obsession with "rogues galleries" going around, and I don't think the concept suits most of the character or series that it gets applied to.
It might be fun to see Wanda confront June about her impersonation but I don't think that June would make sense as a recurring Scarlet Witch antagonist. Pitting Wanda against someone who primarily uses chemistry as a weapon would give her the opportunity to do some creative stuff with her probability powers, but that's just not what modern Scarlet Witch stories are focused on.

I've always had complicated feelings towards the Dark Avengers run (in short: I don't like the plot and the only reason I touched it is because of Barney lol). But this dumpster fire has one of my favorite covers ever, which is THIS:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And the reason why I love this so much is because it was based on the famous photo of a sailor kissing a stranger "V-J Day in Times Square":
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I'm showing you also the other picture from the different angle so you can see it more clearly lol especially the headlock).
If I'm remember it correctly, this guy was kissing random girls on the street and at one point he grabbed this woman and kissed her against her will. AND I love the idea that in the Dark Avengers version, June is the one who is forcing a kiss on the sailor and SUCKS HIS SOUL OUT OF HIS BODY. It's wild, beautful and I love it. Very fitting for June if you ask me.
ALSO the second reason I love this is because of Barney's goofy face:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(silly little guy being a back up for his bestie "YEAHHH GIRLL 🥰🥰 take his soul or whatever you're doing right now <3" my man is supporting women's wrongs)
There is no reason for him to be on the cover since it still would look perfectly fine without him, but he is here and it looks sily and awkward 😭 but I love it.

Syncshell: MSS-ELCNWSM9K514 Password: FayeValWedding
Q: Do I have to be IC? A: No, you do not have to be IC or participate in any role-play, but please be mindful that this is an IC event, and be respectful to those who are role-playing and their immersion.
Q: Does my character have to know the couple IC? A: No! First dibs on the invitations will go to those close to Val and Faye, but you can consider this a public occasion. Anyone can attend, and if you can't find a reason for your character to be there IC, you can always attend OOC.
Q: I can only make it to the ceremony/reception, but not the other! A: That's perfectly fine! Both are not mandatory. Come and go as you need. The eternal bonding invitations are only necessary if you are attending the ceremony, so please do not request one if you will only be going to the reception.
Q: Do I have to be on Balmung? A: Unfortunately, due to the game's limitations on eternal bonding ceremonies, only characters on Balmung may attend the ceremony. However, characters on any world may still attend the reception at the teahouse following the ceremony.

Born in Covington on June 1, 1904 in Cincinnati, Ohio, Hurrell began his career as a painter but soon transitioned to photography, where he found his true calling as a portraitist. Desperate Boozehounds Eyed Cincinnati’s Cornerstones Thirstily During Prohibition
Have you excavated any cornerstones lately?
As Prohibition slithered through the 1920s, Cincinnati’s landmark buildings faced a serious threat from cornerstone thieves. With the legal sale of alcohol no longer an option and bootlegging growing dicier by the day, a lot of old-timers remembered that it was once customary to plunk a bottle of booze into the cornerstone of a new building.
Cincinnati’s beer taps had hardly been stoppered before the barflies started hunting for easily accessible cornerstones. According to the Cincinnati Post [16 January 1920] they weren’t having much luck.
“Cornerstones in Cincinnati buildings have attracted an interest traceable to Prohibition. Recollection of a reported custom in ‘the good old days’ of putting a quart of good booze in some cornerstones, along with newspapers, coins, stamps and other things, is the reason. But diligent search so far has failed to uncover any clew. There are plenty of cornerstones, but the owners of all the buildings deny there is any liquor in them.”
Perhaps the building owners protested too much. They certainly didn’t want to find a chunk of their façade missing because some lush got curious. Strangely, some of the local experts denied that cornerstone liquor was ever a thing. Judge John Caldwell told the Post:
“A man would have been foolish to put good liquor he could drink himself into a stone for the benefit of somebody he would never see.”
County Clerk Fred Wesselmann argued the same point from the opposite direction.
“Booze was so common 75 or 100 years ago, that probably no one thought of putting it away as a curiosity for future generations.”
Up in Montgomery, Ohio, however, village historian William Swaim claimed that the cornerstone of the landmark Universalist Church (with the brick pillars) contained a quart of liquor. Or maybe, he averred, it was only a pint. Whether Mr. Swaim was correct or not remains a matter of conjecture, because no one has excavated the cornerstone to check. Yet.
Tumblr media
The “History of Montgomery, Ohio” edited by Mary Lou Rose for that city’s 1995 bicentennial, recounts the liquor rumor, but suggests the hootch is ensconced in one of the pillars, not the cornerstone.
“These four round brick pillars have a greater circumference at the bottom than at the top, and stories have been told that one pillar holds a bottle of whiskey.”
J. Stacey Hill, president of the Gibson Hotel Company, energetically pooh-poohed the idea that a bottle of anything was hidden in the “century box” incorporated into a lobby pillar in 1913. His denials were supported two years later as workmen demolished the neighboring Johnston Building to make way for a Gibson Hotel expansion. A laborer sank his pick into a hollow stone several feet below the pavement. Inside the stone was a large box made of zinc. The box was hauled up for examination and found to contain an Enquirer from 1875, a May Festival program, a handful of coins and a dossier full of facts about the now-demolished building. But no liquor.
At about the same time, according to the Commercial Tribune [16 June 1922] a demolition team in Covington also came up dry:
“Workmen tearing down the old Parker Building, East Pike street, to prepare a site for the new Covington Theater, are looking for treasure. A quart of whisky. The liquor has been buried in the cornerstone of the old building for nearly forty years. It is said, the liquor was nine years old when placed in the cornerstone. Ben Vastine, contractor, kept a close watch on the workmen to avert the possibility of one of them finding it and converting it to his own use. The liquor had not been found at quitting time.”
With all these dry runs, how did rumors about immured booze get started anyway? It appears that alcoholic cornerstones, although uncommon, were actually a thing. Over in nearby Vernon, Indiana, the local high school yielded a quart of whiskey when it was demolished in 1927. The bottle rested serenely next to an old Bible and the usual miscellany of newspapers and coins. All of the discovered contents were allegedly reinterred in the cornerstone of the new high school erected on the same site.
Up in Hamilton, Ohio, back in 1907, the Globe Opera House produced a bottle of whiskey when the cornerstone was moved during remodeling. That bottle was cradled in a stack of Hamilton and Cincinnati newspapers dating from the 1860s. The wrecking crew drank it.
In other words, the thirsty souls eying the downtown cornerstones weren’t totally off the mark. It’s just a good thing they didn’t expand their research beyond cornerstones. Heaven knows what would have happened if they learned about Samuel Behymer over in Withamsville. His last wishes might have inspired grave robbing. According to the Cincinnati Post [14 October 1978]:
“Samuel Behymer, who had been a part of the Ten Mile Baptist Church, became the first man to be buried in the cemetery. On his death bed, he had requested that he be buried with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a plug of tobacco in the other. ‘You see,’ he explained, ‘I only got two sins. One of them is terbaccy and the other is whiskey so when I go through them pearly gates I want to be honest and have one of them in each hand.’ So they buried him with a bottle of whiskey in one hand and a plug of tobacco in the other.”
Although most of the memorialized whiskey dated from the mid-1800s or earlier, as late as 1902, builders were still asking clients whether they wanted to set aside a bottle for posterity. In that year, Garry Herrmann, one of Boss Cox’s lieutenants and President of the Cincinnati Water Works Commission, reviewed plans for the city’s new Western Pumping Station. That building had a perfectly round footprint, so Herrmann decreed that there would be no cornerstone in a building that lacked corners. The Cincinnati Post [3 November 1902] predicted future frustration:
“As a compromise with sentiment, a bronze tablet, like on a burial vault, will grace the building when finished, and in 2082, when it is razed to make room for more skyscrapers, the workmen will look in vain for a cornerstone with a pint bottle of 1902 whisky concealed in it.”

Cases with Major Updates in 2023, Part Two.
As stated in part one, many cases featured on this page had major updates during the year 2023. Below is the second installment of cases this year that made progress during this past year. Here's to hoping they are resolved in 2024!
Once again, since many of you are already familiar with these cases, I provided a brief TL;DR description with each, but links to the full case write-up are there as well!
The Disappearance and Murder of Hailey Dunn. TL;DR update: During June 2023, the murder charges against Shawn Adkins were dropped without prejudice. Hailey Dunn vanished in Colorado City, Texas at the age of 13 in 2010; her remains were found in 2013. Adkins has been a suspect since Hailey's disappearance in 2010. Since the charges against him were dropped without prejudice, the State hopes to charge him again in the future.
The Disappearance and Death of Taalibah Islam. TL;DR update: Human remains were found in Fort Worth, Texas during March 2023. In June 2023, those remains were identified as that of Taalibah Islam. Taalibah originally vanished in 2006 at the age of 20. The main person of interest in the case is currently incarcerated on unrelated kidnapping charges.
The Disappearance and Death of Paige Johnson. TL;DR update: In July 2023, Jacob Bumpass was found guilty of tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse in relation to Paige Johnson's disappearance and death. Paige vanished at the age of 17 from Covington, Kentucky in 2010. Her remains were found 10 years later, in 2020. Her loved ones hope for more charges against Bumpass in the future.
The Disappearance and Murder of Suzanne Morphew. TL;DR update: The remains of Suzanne Morphew were found in Saguache County, Colorado during September 2023. She had been missing since May 10th, 2020. Her husband, Barry Morphew, was previously facing murder charges in the case, but the charges have been dropped without prejudice.
The Disappearance of Tyreek Pettigrew TL;DR update: In November 2023, Brandon Smith (33) was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime in relation to Tyreek's disappearance. Tyreek originally vanished from Moncks Corner, South Carolina in February 2018. Although Smith is being charged with murder, Tyreek remains missing today.

Haven't done one of these in a while. Below is a sneak peek of several projects I'm working on. Hope you enjoy them.
Reset | OH | Ethan Ramsey x F!OC, Ethan Ramsey x F!MC (Past)
What Happened in Vegas | OH | Ethan Ramsey x F!MC
Crash | OH | Tobias Carrick x F!MC
What's Forever For? AU - Miranda | OH | Tobias Carrick, F!MC
A Mother's Journal: Part 4 | WTD | Eli Sipes, F!OC (Florence Sipes, Mother)
Reset | Ethan Ramsey x F!OC, Ethan Ramsey x MC (past) This scene is Tobias, Kaycee (MC)
Tobias slunk back in his chair, slowly swiveling to the side. He studied her resume with such intensity she'd never had a clue that the decision to accept her had been made long before she entered his door. But this was a golden opportunity to learn more, and Dr. Carrick never passed up an opportunity.
"I'm still not understanding this," he practically scowled, tossing the paper back onto his desk. "I'm not here to belittle my program. It's top-ranked, but... it's not Edenbrook. So why are you here?"
Kaycee did her best not to squirm, but something inside her knew the steely eyes fixed on her could see right through her, and that almost made her want to tell the truth... almost.
"I, uh, didn't seek you out. I was recruited."
He nonchalantly shrugged with an air of annoyance. "I'm recruited by places that are beneath me on a daily basis. But I know my worth enough to not give them the time of day. Now, I'm not suggesting Kenmore is beneath you. It's not. In fact, you have yet to convince me that you'd survive the program. But before I render my decision... I'm going to need some more honesty from you. Otherwise, we're both wasting our time."
What Happened in Vegas, Part 6 | Ethan Ramsey x MC
Ethan placed two cups of coffee on the desk, one for him and one for Naveen, who was uncharacteristically late. He checked anxiously checked his watch. He was almost as eager to catch his mentor and friend up on his Vegas happenings as Naveen was to hear them, but he had been away for days, and he had work to do. He pulled out his phone to text him when he heard the door open.
"It's about time. I was getting ready to inform you that I was leaving your office," Ethan chided, but his face turned ashen when he spun around and found who was standing before him.
"Casey? What are you doing here... I... I thought you were on rounds?"
"I was," she shrugged. "But I got a text from Naveen saying I needed to come to see him right away. Do you think this could be about... about us?"
"That's impossible... I mean, I think it is. How would he know?"
Crash | Tobias Carrick x F!MC
The lab had grown eerily quiet, everyone hyperfocused on their task at hand, speaking only when absolutely necessary, and the lingering silence only meant one thing. They weren't making progress.
Tobias was overheating, feeling like he would combust, but he had to play it cool... he had to do it for Casey. She couldn't die. Especially since Farrugia wouldn't even be here if not... His head jerked toward the door as Baz and June rushed inside.
"Any good news?" Sienna asked nervously.
Baz shook his head with a sigh. "No. We had to remove Raf from the room. He's failing quickly... "
"And Casey?" Tobias injected without a single thought.
June turned to him, her face a mix of emotions.
"And Casey?" He asked, louder and more directed this time.
"There's no... no change. Nothing's better, but it's not getting worse." June answered.
"That's not entirely true," Baz faltered. "Her oxygen levels are down a bit, and it Raf's turn is any indication, that means she has...."
Tobias was halfway to the door. "I'm going to see her...."
June reached for his arm. "You can't just go up there, Tobias. It's on an approved basis, and..."
"Try to stop me."
What's Forever For? AU: Miranda | Tobias Carrick, F!MC This scene is between Vivian Carrick and Dr. Miranda Covington
She knew there was no reason that she couldn't stay. She was perfectly free to be there. Nevertheless, Miranda felt it was best to let them work this out without her there. She didn't even stop for her coat before stepping out into the frigid Boston night; fortunately, Tobias's heavy sweatshirt would be enough to hold her over until her Uber arrived.
She sprung out of the front door and let out a cleansing breath. She'd have to deal with the aftermath at a later time, but for now... she was free.
"And what exactly is that sigh of relief for, my dear?"
Miranda's face fell, and she stood frozen in place as an elegantly dressed woman approached her. She had only met Vivian Carrick a few times before, in large groups, where she was one of many of Tobias's friends. She knew his mother was a formidable force and vowed to never get on her wrong side, and now, she prayed that wasn't where she had found herself.
A Mother's Journal: Part 4 | Eli Sipes, Florence Sipes, etc.
... and that's the thing about the world ending. We talked about it before it happened... 'It's not the end of the world?', we'd say. But maybe it was. Not for everyone but for the person in pain, it very well may have been. Now, we all know the day the world ended. Those of us who lived through it have it permanently etched in our minds. Those who have come since have been taught about it as lore. But they cannot be spared. Their worlds will end, too. It happens when we lose the thing most dear to us. When we lose the one thing that makes our world whole...

MURDERED: Egypt Covington (Prime Time Crime)
On the night of June 22, 2017, 27-year-old Egypt Covington was home watching a movie when two men broke into her duplex in Van Buren Township, Michigan.
The men tied Egypt up in Christmas lights before placing a couch cushion over the back of her head and shooting her.
They then fled the scene.
It took three years for police to get a break in the case.
They initially investigated one of Covington's ex-boyfriends but never charged him.
In late 2020, they arrested Timothy Moore, Shandon Groom, and Shane Evans.
Cellphone records and GPS data placed the three men at the scene of the crime the night Covington was killed.
Evans worked at the duplex where Egypt lived and knew her neighbor, who was out of town at a music festival, had marijuana in his home.
He told Moore and Groom about the weed and thought they were breaking into the man's home to steal it.
However, they entered the wrong apartment and found Egypt instead of the drugs.
Evans pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 15–25 years in prison in May 2023.
Moore and Groom's trial is set to begin on July 24, 2023.

He attended Morgan College. In 1884, he won the G. V. Leech Prize for theology, and in 1887, he won the Baldwin Prize for English oratory.
He and Robert E. Jones were appointed bishops of the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1920, becoming the first Black people to receive that title. He was assigned to Monrovia, Liberia. He served as District Superintendent for the Church in DC.
In 1926, he was transferred to Covington, Kentucky. His territory included all of Kentucky and Tennessee. He would serve there until his retirement in 1936.
In March 1890, he edited the newspaper the Methodist Banner. He was assisted by his wife Fannie in the newspaper editing role.
