OMG you watched Friday Night Lights?! I'm reading all your posts on it and Matt was my favorite character not going to lie I didn't like Julie she was one of my least favorite characters but I actually liked their relationship even though she has treated him shitty his life was so sad but he's so sweet and doesn't act like typical characters with a sad backstory like omg he's perfect to me.

Hi stranger - getting this in my inbox made my whole day, so thank you!! I watched FNL for the first time near the end of last year and I’m still not over it (CLEARLY lol).

Matthew Saracen is my most very favorite - like truly one of my all time fave characters, would die for him, was beside myself when he got benched, thrilled for him when he thrived in Chicago, just love him the most?! And I agree, they don’t make him like a stereotypical sad boy. He’s kind and funny and tries so hard - he’s a good friend and boyfriend and the BEST grandson that ever exists. And I love that he ends up getting, even if it’s not what he would have expected earlier, everything he deserves by the end of the show. (And Zach Gilford is AMAZING as Matt - like how was he not nominated for an Emmy - and plays Matt so perfectly, and makes him so realistic, always.)

And double agreed on Julie lol - I didn’t think she was all that bad in the beginning and then season 2 rolled around and i was like oh...she’s the worst. But I love her and Matt together, I love rewatching the beginning knowing Matt gets his dream girl, and I really love the way they grow together. Their road back together in season 3 is one of my favorite storylines, and I love that throughout the show you can kind of see that she’s the one Matt seems able to relax with and let his guard down around. The best thing about her is that she *is* often good to and supportive of Matt - and she’s always kind to and about Grandma Saracen.

Anyway, thank you for the opportunity to gush on main, even more, about this perfect show and love of my life, QB1, Matthew Saracen.
