Brahms balled his fists, steeling his nerves as he quietly approached your sleeping form. Even in the dark, he could still make out the faint outline of the comforter hugging your body. The floorboards were cold beneath his bare feet, as he continued to shuffle forwards. Outside, the wind howled, harshly blowing through the towering pine trees that surrounded the house. Their long branches clustered around the bedroom window, shielding a view of the stars splattered against a jet black sky.
The wooden floorboards creaked beneath his weight, yet they did not disturb you. Brahms' could feel his heart rattling within his ribcage, as he carefully kneeled beside the bed. Soft snores fell from your plush lips, as a heavy arm was slung over the porcelain doll. His viridescent eyes raked over your dozing form, watching as your chest slowly rose and fell.
Somehow, over the length of your short stay, this had become a nightly ritual for him. Watching as dreams danced through your head, masked behind your resting eyelids. You were at peace, the day’s tension temporarily falling away for the night
He sighed, leaning his cheek against the edge of the mattress.
You nuzzled further into the pillow, hand sliding forward to hang over the edge of the mattress. His breath hitched from the movement, wide eyes wandering over your outstretched arm. Your flesh was so tantalizing close to him now, almost as if your body had subconsciously reached out to him. His hand trembled, as his fingers creeped over the covers to hover over your curled fist. The urge to reach out and grasp onto your hand was nauseating. He had painfully waited, stayed hidden and out of sight for so long. Peering at you through cracks in the walls, and keyholes. Watching glimpses of your presence float through the house, unaware of his looming existence. If it weren’t for the echoes of your footfalls walking through the halls, he would have believed you to be a ghost. A fragment of imagination the house (and him) had conjured up out of loneliness. What if touching you revealed your existence to be nothing more than a dream, a phantasm he so desperately wanted to believe in?
A faint whisper left your lips, ineligible and gone before he could begin to decipher it. The longer he stared at you, he could feel the simmering ache, buried beneath years of solitude, bubble up to the surface.
‘What if…’ he pondered, hand timidly creeping over the cover. The pad of his index finger grazed over the skin, trailing up the bridge of your pinky. He shuddered, a wistful sigh escaping through his teeth. The edge of his nail dragged over the bumps of your knuckles, memorizing the interwoven lines embedded in the skin. He hummed quietly to himself, warmth pooling in his stomach from the sensation of your soft skin against his. Brahms absentmindedly watched as his fingertips danced and drifted over your hand, tracing faint shapes. His heart threatened to leap out of his throat, and present its pulsing, grotesque body onto the bed for you.
Brahms palm gently swept up your bare forearm, like a sculptor tracing the curves of its creation. Although, he never could have created you. You were radiance itself, something bright and warm in the otherwise desolate house. The stain of your shadow now forever resided in the halls and corridors. How could you expect him to keep his distance?
He must have been so caught up in his head, for the next thing he knew his hand was flung back.
“Who the fuck are you?” You demanded, distancing yourself from him. Brahms slowly rose from his position on the floor, watching your movements behind strands of disheveled brown curls that hung over his eyes. You leapt to the other side of the bed, arming yourself with a lamp that sat on your bedside table.
“It’s alright.” He assured, cautiously stepping around the bed. His voice cracked, the high pitched tone he dawned nearly slipping. “Please, everything’s alright.”
You pointed the lamp at him, a pathetic attempt to guard yourself. He cooed, false words of reassurance dripping from his lips like honey. Brahms sounded like a lover, uttering words of comfort to his lover after waking from a nightmare.
Even through your haze filled head, the adrenaline pumping through your veins was enough to alert you that you were far from safe.
“Put that down.” He ordered, voice dropping a few octaves. The veil was thinning, and becoming harder to wear the more you shied away from him.
You swung the lamp, throwing the shade off in the process. “Stay away from me.”
Brahms frantically shook his head. “Please, don’t ask me to do that.”
The lamp was hastily thrown at him, as you dodged his arms trying to swing around your frame. You climbed onto the bed, feet coming tangled with the disordered sheets in the dark room. He groaned, kicking the now broken object to the side.
Brahms wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you flush against him. You thrashed around in his secured hold, digging your elbow into his ribs. He groaned in discomfort, the pain only encouraging him to hold onto you tighter.
“Let me go!”
He maneuvered to sit on the bed, bringing you down with him to sit on his lap. His burly arms entrapped you, cradling your struggling figure against his chest.
“Dammit, who are you?” You asked again, eyes glancing up to meet his gaze. Your eyes swept over the porcelain like mask he wore, now being able to see it more properly up close. All movement ceased from you, as recognition flickered in your pupils. You peeked over at the undisturbed doll, peacefully resting against your pillow. The smooth, pale ceramic face eerily resembled the mask belonging to the strange man.
He swallowed, the sweet fruity scent of your shampoo blurring his surroundings. The tip of his nose bumped against your cheek, cool porcelain causing goosebumps to form on your skin. He inhaled, letting out a deep guttural groan as the citrusy aroma of oranges wafted into his nose. You grimaced, and pulled back from him.
“Are you…” You licked your lips, trying to mentally prepare yourself for the answer. “Are you Brahms?”
He nodded, cheek rubbing against the back of your hair. A beat of silence passed between you two.
“Are you here to kill me?” You quietly asked, tears brimming in the corners of your eyes. He could feel you trembling, despite being pressed up against his warm, sweaty skin.
“No, no.” He soothed, beginning to rock you in his arms. “I could never do that.”
His fingertips dug into your skin, trying to comfort you.
The rest of the night was spent in Brahms iron steel hold, waiting anxiously for dawn to break through the line of branches covering the bedroom window. The doll, quiet and still as ever, watched as the night dragged on and on.
Endlessly.

Jamil Abdullah al-Amin (born Hubert Gerold Brown; October 4, 1943), is an American human rights activist, Muslim cleric, African separatist, and convicted murderer who was the fifth chairman of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) in the 1960s. Best known as H. Rap Brown, he served as the Black Panther Party's minister of justice during a short-lived (six months) alliance between SNCC and the Black Panther Party.
He is perhaps known for his proclamations during that period, such as that "violence is as American as cherry pie", and that "If America don't come around, we're gonna burn it down." He is also known for his autobiography, Die Nigger Die! He is currently serving a life sentence for murder following the shooting of two Fulton County, Georgia, sheriff's deputies in 2000.
Tumblr media
Brown's activism in the civil rights movement included involvement with the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). Brown was introduced into SNCC by his older brother Ed. He first visited Cambridge, Maryland with Cleveland Sellers in the summer of 1963, during the period of Gloria Richardson's leadership in the local movement. He witnessed the first riot between whites and blacks in the city over civil rights issues, and was impressed by the local civil rights movement's willingness to use armed self-defense against racial attacks.
Brown later organized for SNCC during the 1964 Mississippi Freedom Summer, while transferring to Howard University for his studies. Representing Howard's SNCC chapter, Brown attended a contentious civil rights meeting at the White House with President Lyndon B. Johnson during the Selma crisis of 1965 as Alabama activists attempted to march for voting rights.
Major federal civil rights legislation was passed in 1964 and 1965, including the Voting Rights Act, to establish federal oversight and enforcement of rights. In 1966, Brown organized in Greene County, Alabama to achieve African voter registration and implementation of the recently passed Voting Rights Act.
Elected SNCC chairman in 1967, Brown continued Stokely Carmichael's fiery support for "Black Power" and urban rebellions in the Northern ghettos.
During the summer of 1967, Brown toured the nation, calling for violent resistance to the government, which he called "The Fourth Reich". "Negroes should organize themselves", he told a rally in Washington, D.C., and "carry on guerilla warfare in all the cities." They should, "make the Viet Cong look like Sunday school teachers." He declared, "I say to America, Fuck it! Freedom or death!"
Tumblr media
In this period, Cambridge, Maryland had an active civil rights movement, led by Gloria Richardson. In July 1967 Brown spoke in the city, saying "It's time for Cambridge to explode, baby. Black folks built America, and if America don't come around, we're going to burn America down." Gunfire reportedly broke out later, and both Brown and a police officer were wounded. A fire started that night and by the next day, 17 buildings were destroyed by an expanding fire "in a two-block area of Pine Street, the center of African-American commerce, culture and community." Brown was charged with inciting a riot, due to his speech.
Brown was also charged with carrying a gun across state lines. A secret 1967 FBI memo had called for "neutralizing" Brown. He became a target of the agency's COINTELPRO program, which was intended to disrupt and disqualify civil rights leaders. The federal charges against him were never proven.
He was defended in the gun violation case by civil rights advocates Murphy Bell of Baton Rouge, the self-described "radical lawyer" William Kunstler, and Howard Moore Jr., general counsel for SNCC. Feminist attorney Flo Kennedy also assisted Brown and led his defense committee, winning support for him from some chapters of the National Organization for Women.
The Cambridge fire was among incidents investigated by the 1967 Kerner Commission. But their investigative documents were not published with their 1968 report. Historian Dr. Peter Levy studied these papers in researching his book Civil War on Race Street: The Civil Rights Movement in Cambridge, Maryland (2003). He argues there was no riot in Cambridge. Brown was documented as completing his speech in Cambridge at 10 pm July 24, then walking a woman home. He was shot by a deputy sheriff allegedly without provocation. Brown was hastily treated for his injuries and secretly taken by supporters out of Cambridge.
Later that night a small fire broke out, but the police chief and fire company did not respond for two hours. In discussing his book, Levy has said that the fire's spread and ultimate destructive cost appeared to be due not to a riot, but to the deliberate inaction of the Cambridge police and fire departments, which had hostile relations with the African community. In a later book, Levy notes that Brice Kinnamon, head of the Cambridge police department, said that the city had no racial problems, and that Brown was the "sole" cause of the disorder, and it was "a well-planned Communist attempt to overthrow the government."
While being held for trial, Brown continued his high-profile activism. He accepted a request from the Student Afro-American Society of Columbia University to help represent and co-organize the April 1968 Columbia protests against university expansion into Harlem park land in order to build a gymnasium.
He also contributed writing from jail to the radical magazine Black Mask, which was edited and published by the New York activist group Up Against the Wall Motherfucker. In his 1968 article titled "H. Rap Brown From Prison: Lasima Tushinde Mbilashika", Brown writes of going on a hunger strike and his willingness to give up his life in order to achieve change.
Brown's trial was originally to take place in Cambridge, but there was a change of venue and the trial was moved to Bel Air, Maryland, to start in March 1970. On March 9, 1970, two SNCC officials, Ralph Featherstone and William ("Che") Payne, died on U.S. Route 1 south of Bel Air, when a bomb on the front floorboard of their car exploded, killing both occupants. The bomb's origin is disputed: some say the bomb was planted in an assassination attempt, and others say Payne was carrying it to the courthouse where Brown was to be tried. The next night, the Cambridge courthouse was bombed
Tumblr media
Brown disappeared for 18 months. He was posted on the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Ten Most Wanted List. He was arrested after a reported shootout with officers in New York City following an alleged attempted robbery of a bar there. He was convicted of robbery and served five years (1971–76) in Attica Prison in western New York state. While in prison, Brown converted to Islam. He formally changed his name from Hubert Gerold Brown to Jamil Abdullah al-Amin.
After his release, he moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he opened a grocery store. He became an imam, a Muslim spiritual leader, in the National Ummah, one of the nation's largest African Muslim groups. He also was a community activist in Atlanta's West End neighborhood. He preached against drugs and gambling. It has since been suggested that al-Amin changed his life again when he became affiliated with the "Dar ul-Islam Movement"
Tumblr media
On May 31, 1999, al-Amin was pulled over while driving in Marietta, Georgia by police officer Johnny Mack for a suspected stolen vehicle. During a search, al-Amin was found to have in his pocket a police badge. He also had a bill of sale in his pocket, explaining his possession of the stolen car, and he claimed that he had been issued an honorary police badge by Mayor John Jackson, a statement which Jackson verified. Despite this, al-Amin was charged with speeding, auto theft and impersonating a police officer.
On March 16, 2000, in Fulton County, Georgia, Sheriff's deputies Ricky Kinchen and Aldranon English went to al-Amin's home to execute an arrest warrant for failing to appear in court over the charges. After determining that the home was unoccupied, the deputies drove away and were shortly passed by a black Mercedes headed for the house. Kinchen (the more senior deputy) noted the suspect vehicle, turned the patrol car around, and drove up to the Mercedes, stopping nose to nose. English approached the Mercedes and told the single occupant to show his hands. The occupant opened fire with a .223 rifle. English ran between the two cars while returning fire from his handgun, and was hit four times. Kinchen was shot with the rifle and a 9 mm handgun.
The next day, Kinchen died of his wounds at Grady Memorial Hospital. English survived his wounds. He identified al-Amin as the shooter from six photos he was shown while recovering in the hospital[citation needed] Another source said English identified him shortly before going into surgery for his wounds.
After the shootout, al-Amin fled Atlanta, going to White Hall, Alabama. He was tracked down by U.S. Marshals who started with a blood trail at the shooting site, and arrested by law enforcement officers after a four-day manhunt. Al-Amin was wearing body armor at the time of his arrest. He showed no wounds. Officers found a 9 mm handgun near his arrest site. Firearms identification testing showed that this was used to shoot Kinchen and English, but al-Amin's fingerprints were not found on the weapon. Later, al-Amin's black Mercedes was found with bullet holes in it.
His lawyers argued he was innocent of the shooting. Defense attorneys noted that al-Amin's fingerprints were not found on the murder weapon, and he was not wounded in the shooting, as one of the deputies said the shooter was. A trail of blood found at the scene was tested and did not belong to al-Amin or either of the deputies. A test by the state concluded that it was animal blood, but these results have been disputed because there was no clear chain of custody to verify the sample and testing process. Deputy English had said that the killer's eyes were gray, but al-Amin's are brown.
At al-Amin's trial, prosecutors noted that he had never provided an alibi for his whereabouts at the time of the shootout, nor any explanation for fleeing the state afterward. He also did not explain why the weapons used in the shootout were found near him during his arrest.
On March 9, 2002, nearly two years after the shootings, al-Amin was convicted of 13 criminal charges, including Kinchen's murder and aggravated assault in shooting English. Four days later, he was sentenced to life in prison without possibility of parole (LWOP).He was sent to Georgia State Prison, the state's maximum-security facility near Reidsville, Georgia.
Otis Jackson, a man incarcerated for unrelated charges, claimed that he committed the Fulton County shootings, and confessed this two years before al-Amin was convicted of the same crime. The court did not consider Jackson's statement as evidence. Jackson's statements corroborated details from 911 calls following the shooting, including a bleeding man seen limping from the scene: Jackson said he knocked on doors to solicit a ride while suffering from wounds sustained in the firefight with deputies Kinchen and English. Jackson recanted his statement two days after making it, but later confessed again in a sworn affidavit, stating that he had only recanted after prison guards threatened him for being a "cop killer". Prosecutors refuted Jackson's testimony, claiming he couldn't have shot the deputies as he was wearing an ankle tag for house confinement that would have showed his location. Al-Amin's lawyers allege that the tag was faulty.
Al-Amin appealed his conviction on the basis of a racial conspiracy against him, despite both Fulton County deputies being black. In May 2004, the Supreme Court of Georgia unanimously ruled to uphold al-Amin's conviction.
In August 2007, al-Amin was transferred to federal custody, as Georgia officials decided he was too high-profile for the Georgia prison system to handle. He was first held in a holdover facility in the USP Atlanta; two weeks later he was moved to a federal transfer facility in Oklahoma, pending assignment to a federal penitentiary.
On October 21, 2007, al-Amin was transferred to ADX Florence, a supermax prison in Florence, Colorado. He has been under an unofficial gag order, prevented from having any interviews with writers, journalists or biographers.
On July 18, 2014, having been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, al-Amin was transferred to Butner Federal Medical Center in North Carolina. As of March 2018, he is incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary, Tucson.
Al-Amin sought retrial through the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals. Investigative journalist, Hamzah Raza, has written more about Otis Jackson's confession to the deputy shootings in 2000, and said that this evidence should have been considered by the court. It had the potential of exonerating al-Amin. However, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected his appeal on July 31, 2019.
In April 2020, the U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear an appeal from al-Amin. His family and supporters continue to petition for a new trial.

Flex1045 x Be On Cloud Music interview highlights
Tumblr media
On BOC Music / his own solo music
Mile is preparing to host a solo concert this year, in about 6-7 months, for VIP attendees
He has some demos of old music, but won't rush to release music since he is busy with other projects, esp acting projects, this year
He loves producing music and is looking to nurture new sounds into locally released music. He values being able to produce as as important as getting to release music
A future project will be him singing and playing guitar though unclear from my understanding of the question/translation if he means in support of Shine or not
He is hoping to recruit both female and male artists to the music label (Mile is also tired of this sausage fest...)
Upcoming BOC projects
Mile shared that BOC will have 2-3 more projects this year releasing around July-August. I believe this is aside from 4 Minutes and Shine
Shine is shooting in Q3 for release for Q4
Mile said Shine is a romcom 🥰
Mile on Apo, Apo's projects, and Apo and music
Mile chose the song Apo performed at the BOC new year count down at the last party
As of right now, there are no active plans for Apo to become an artist under BOCM / release music since he is focused on a number of acting projects. But from the way Mile phrased it, it does sound like there might be eventual plans for that to happen but just not this year
He couldn't stop gushing about Apo. I can't even do the summary justice, here's one translation:
Tumblr media
Other cute things
The interviewer was overwhelmed by Mile looking into his eyes so intensely and got flustered and asked him to stop 🤣
The interview asked if Mile prefers to confess or secretly pine, and Mile gave a more in depth discussion about how he prefers to long pine quietly without confessing (a longer version than the pop Journey Q&A he did with Apo where he said the same thing briefly)
Mile said he didn't dare let his grandmother watch KinnPorsche because he was afraid she'd have a heart attack
He talked about his relationship with this grandmother a little and that she was a good cook but she teased him when he was younger because he liked to eat and was a pudgy kid

most importantly, he saw the bebes

(i've been told Tumblr is throttling posts with a ton of out-links from showing up in the tags so :') Apologies for not listing more sources)

Ten men state prosecutors say are part of a Wilmington-area gang known as "Exit 4" have been indicted on more than 130 charges total, including several murder charges, numerous attempted murder charges and many other related offenses, the Delaware Department of Justice announced Tuesday.
The indictment is the "culmination of a years-long investigation" between the state justice department, Wilmington Police and New Castle County Police, the state justice department said. Delaware State Police and the Delaware Department of Correction were also involved.
“Exit 4 is part of a vicious criminal underground," said Attorney General Kathy Jennings. "They terrorize innocent people and fuel the cycle of violence and retribution that prosecutors, law enforcement and social workers spend their lives working to disrupt."
Who are the men accused of killing?
According to the Delaware DOJ, the gang operated at least between January 2020 and December of this year. Members are charged with at least three murders – Khalil Ameer-Bey, Latahesia Hill and Kwamir Wise – and the attempted murder of others.
Ameer-Bey, 24, was gunned down on July 29, 2020, in the 900 block of N. Lombard St. in Wilmington, near where his grandmother lived. His parents previously told Delaware Online/The News Journal he was shot four times: once in the arm, twice in the back and once in the side.
He left behind a then-4-year-old son.
Hill, 37, was killed on April 13, 2021, in a triple shooting outside Bill's Deli Market at 10th and Pine streets in Wilmington. The two other women shot, a 26-year-old and a 23-year-old, survived.
Hill lived in the area, said her sister, Atiyah Martin-El.
"She was a good person. She didn't deserve that; none of them deserve to be shot," Martin-El said from the stoop of Hill's home a day after the shooting. "We want justice; they killed somebody that was on their way to work."
Wise, 19, was killed more recently, on Sept. 4 of this year.
He was found by officers in the 700 block of E. 22nd St., lying on his back on a hill with gunshot wounds to his hip and face. He was rushed to the hospital in critical condition and died three days later.
Police found two 9mm shell casings on the sidewalk nearby, according to court records, and pulled surveillance footage from Eddy's Market. The surveillance video showed Wise entering the store, buying two bottled drinks and leaving the store. One minute after Wise left the store, the drinks in one hand and his cell phone in the other, two other men entered.
They left Eddy's Market about 37 seconds later, court documents said, and walked toward Wise. A man later identified as Amir Henry then pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at Wise at point-blank range before fleeing the scene.
Henry was charged with murder in early November.

Some excerpts from the above article:
The “Appeal to Heaven” flag flew last summer at Alito’s vacation home in New Jersey, according to The New York Times. Also known as the Pine Tree flag, it originated as a symbol of the American Revolution but became a symbol of Donald Trump’s “Stop the Steal” movement—including one carried by rioters at the Capitol building. Several photos acquired by the Times showed the flag hanging outside of Alito’s residence on Long Beach Island on four separate dates between July and September 2023. [...] Democrats have since called for Alito to recuse himself from cases related to the 2020 election, and introduced a resolution Tuesday to censure the “shameless” justice for what they call “beyond poor judgment,” arguing that Alito had violated the court’s ethics and invited questions about the court’s impartiality.

This is infuriating. There's no excuse. Roberts needs to push Alito to recuse himself from anything that has to do with Trump's attempted coup.
This guy is an insurrectionist in a black robe. He is a deeply corrupt, right wing activist who is masquerading as a judge.
This guy should have recused himself from every insurrection-related case, but he didn’t because he is deliberately ruling in support of the insurrectionists, who are his ideological partners.
Justices swear an oath to be impartial. Alito has demonstrated, repeatedly, that he is not impartial in matters related to January 6 and Trump’s coup attempt. He has been, and still is, breaking his sworn oath, in public, without apology.
Alito must be impeached and removed, immediately if not sooner.

Mark Randall Meadows (born July 28, 1959) is an American politician who served as the 29th White House chief of staff from 2020 to 2021. A member of the Republican Party, he also served as the U.S. representative for North Carolina's 11th congressional district from 2013 to 2020. During his legislative tenure, Meadows chaired the Freedom Caucus from 2017 to 2019. He was considered one of Donald Trump's closest allies in Congress before his appointment as chief of staff.[1]
A Tea Party Republican, Meadows was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus. During his time in Congress, he was one of the most conservative Republican lawmakers and played an important part of the United States federal government shutdown of 2013. He also sought to remove John Boehner as Speaker of the United States House of Representatives.
Meadows resigned from Congress on March 31, 2020, to become White House chief of staff. As chief of staff, he played an influential role in the Trump administration's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. He pressured the Food and Drug Administration to adopt less strict guidelines for COVID-19 vaccine trials,[2] and admonished the White House's own infectious disease experts for not "staying on message" with Trump's rhetoric.[3] In October 2020, Meadows said it was futile to try "to control the pandemic", emphasizing instead a plan to contain it with vaccines and therapeutics. As the virus spread among White House staff in the fall of 2020, he reportedly sought to conceal the cases, including his own.[4][5] After Trump lost the 2020 presidential election, Meadows participated in Trump's failed effort to overturn the election results and remain in power.[6][7][8]
On December 14, 2021, Meadows was held in criminal contempt of Congress[9] for refusing to cooperate with the January 6 Select Committee. He is the first White House chief of staff since the Watergate scandal and first former member of Congress to have been held in contempt of Congress.[10][11] The contempt charge was referred to the Justice Department, which declined to prosecute him.[12]
On October 26, 2022, a South Carolina circuit judge ordered Meadows to testify before a Georgia grand jury investigating Republican efforts to reverse the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia. The grand jury was empaneled by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who said the inquiry is examining "the multistate, coordinated efforts to influence the results of the November 2020 election in Georgia and elsewhere."[13] On August 14, 2023, he was indicted along with 18 other people in the prosecution related to the 2020 election in Georgia; Meadows is the second White House Chief of Staff to face criminal charges, after H. R. Haldeman.[14]
Early life and education Meadows's mother was from Sevierville, Tennessee, and his father from Pine Bluff, Arkansas. He was born at a United States Army hospital in Verdun, France, where his father was serving in the Army and his mother worked as a civilian nurse.[citation needed]
Meadows grew up in Brandon, Florida, and described his upbringing as "poor".[15] He has said he was a "fat nerd" who went on a diet after a classmate rejected him for a date.[15] Meadows attended Florida State University for one year in 1977–78.[15] It was reported that Meadows held a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida for many years in his official biography maintained by the Office of the Historian of the U.S. House of Representatives. In actuality, he graduated from the University of South Florida with an Associate of Arts.[15]
Early career In 1987, Meadows started "Aunt D's", a small restaurant in Highlands, North Carolina. He later sold it and used the proceeds to start a real estate development company in the Tampa, Florida, area.[16]
While living in Highlands, Meadows served as chairman of the Republican Party in Macon County, and was a delegate to several state and national Republican conventions.[17] Meadows was on North Carolina's Board for Economic Development in Western North Carolina.[18]
In 2011, he moved to Glenville, North Carolina. In 2016, he sold his house and moved into an apartment in Biltmore Park, a mixed-use community in Asheville, North Carolina, while deciding where to buy next in either Henderson or Buncombe counties.[19] He is the owner of Highlands Properties, which specializes in construction and land development.[20] In 2014, Meadows sold 134 acres (54 hectares) of land in Dinosaur, Colorado, to a young earth creationist group. He appeared in the controversial creationist film Raising the Allosaur: The True Story of a Rare Dinosaur and the Home Schoolers Who Found It (2002), which was debunked by experts.[21]
U.S. House of Representatives In Congress, Meadows had an ultraconservative voting record.[6] He signed the Contract from America, a set of ten policies assembled by the Tea Party movement.[22][23] Meadows was a founding member of the Freedom Caucus.[24]
Meadows voted against disaster relief spending for October 2012's Hurricane Sandy, which struck the Northeastern United States and caused severe damage.[25] He was one of several Republicans who claimed the funding bill contained pork-barrel spending that had nothing to do with hurricane relief, a claim the bill's supporters denied.[25][26] Meadows's opposition to Sandy relief was recalled in 2017 news accounts after he and many Republicans who had opposed it voted in favor of disaster aid following Hurricane Harvey, which caused massive damage in Louisiana and Texas that August.[25][26] Critics alleged that Republicans were hypocritically opposing spending in states with Democratic majorities while supporting it in Republican states.[27] Republicans, including Meadows, claimed the situations were different because the Harvey spending bill contained no "pork".[27] A Congressional Research Service review determined that the Sandy spending bill's funds were almost all devoted to recovery from Sandy.[28]
Meadows served as chair of the Subcommittee on Government Operations up until June 20, 2015, when fellow Republican congressman Jason Chaffetz removed him from the position. A member of the House Republican leadership, Chaffetz removed Meadows due to Meadows's vote against a procedural motion the Republican leadership presented.[29] Meadows was one of 34 Republicans who voted against the motion, which allowed for consideration of President Barack Obama's request for fast-track authority on trade agreements. Speaker John Boehner supported the measure, but many Republicans felt it gave too much power to Democrats and Obama specifically.[30] Chaffetz's action was seen as controversial, with many prominent Republican politicians, including Texas senator Ted Cruz, speaking out against the punishment.
Meadows served as ranking member of the House Oversight Committee for 18 days, until he assumed the office of White House Chief of Staff.[31]
Meadows was a member of these committees:

Love Reading 💣 - July 2023 - Sagittarius
Singles:
Overall energy: Justice rev
How you will meet: The Hanged Man
How they will treat you: Wheel of Fortune
Long-term Potential: Temperance
Oracle: Don’t just do something, sit there!
In the preshuffle a message came out about blatant pining after a married/taken person at work, and needing to let that go. I think the same message is coming out here in a different form. Justice rev is unfairness, lack of balance, certainly no movement towards a divorce if that’s what you’re hoping for. Knight of Cups rev and 9 Swords both show you trapped in fantasies, this person is on your mind 24/7, to an unhealthy extent. They’ve shown no movement or action towards you in this way, and you’ve held back your feelings for some time already. This will only continue. They are very nice to you, and probably oblivious. In their message, “I’m sorry” seems to be the response if you did try, or maybe you already have.
How they treat you is doing nothing. Allowing time to pass, assuming you’ll move on (if they’re even aware). If they’re not married already, they’re probably with someone initially, and then with someone else later on, it’s going to piss you off. They don’t feel what you do 😕 Long term is more waiting, more patience, you two chat and are friendly but there’s no indication of anything more than that. They’ll keep you waiting forever, it’s time to look elsewhere, for your own sanity’s sake 🙏
Messages -
Their side:
- I’m sorry
- We make a great team!

Signs you may be dealing with:
Gemini, Sagittarius, Pisces & Virgo
Couples:
Overall energy: The Sun
Current: King of Cups
Challenge: Ace of Cups
How they feel about you: The Tower rev
How you feel about them: The World & Page of Swords
Outcome: King of Pentacles
You’re transitioning from one relationship to another, the last person broke your heart and they’re still heavy in your energy. This could’ve been very recent. I don’t even get them as a main factor here, this reading is about you and where you’re going. The Sun is happiness, you’re getting good news about something later in the month. You have deep feelings for this ex that just linger, but you lock them up tight, because they abandoned you, there’s no communication (anymore) and no effort or movement to change that. They’re pretty bitter towards you, you came rushing at them with some vicious words or harsh communication, and they see the end of this connection as having dodged a bullet by blocking you and ending this burdensome situation. Right or wrong, that’s their side. They do come up as someone pretty insecure in their oracles…they’re just searching for peace of mind. You two may have been opposites, oil and water.
You still watch them like a hawk though. It’s over, you’re aware, and they’ve possibly blocked you on something but you’ve probably made a dummy account and still look at everything they’re doing all of the time. Waiting for a new start. Instead, the outcome for July-August shows someone coming in that is an actual soulmate. King of Pentacles. This person is The Sun ☀️ , they are someone that’s going to make you very happy…this other person had to get out of your way is what Spirit is saying here 🩷
Messages -
Their side:
- My friends are more important than you.
- Darker skin tone
Your side:
- I want to approach you but don’t know HOW
- Younger man/woman
Oracles - C’mon inner peace, I don’t have all day.
Their side:
Be proud of the body you’re in. After all, the outside is not you.
Enjoy your life like a child does. Bring some of that childish playfulness back into your life.
Your side: Face your fears. When you do, you’ll realize that they’re not real, but only what you’ve created.
Signs you may be dealing with:

According to the plea agreement, beginning around August 2019 and continuing through September 2021, Skiff used his position as a claims specialist with the Social Security Administration (SSA) to fraudulently obtain money from the SSA.  Skiff used his knowledge and access to establish Social Security Numbers for ten fictitious children.  He then established fictitious records of entitlements for surviving child benefits which he connected to the record of a real deceased individual.  These benefits were deposited into a bank account accessible to Skiff through debit cards he directed to be mailed to a P.O. Box to which he had access.  Skiff withdrew money and made purchases from this account from October 2019 through September 2021 for a total amount of $324,201.44. “Mr. Skiff blatantly violated the public’s trust, abusing his position within the SSA by stealing $324,201 in benefits,” said Christian Assad, Special Agent in Charge, Denver Field Division, of the Social Security Administration Office of the Inspector General.  “We take every violation of the public trust very seriously, and we will continue to work with SSA to identify and root out suspected employee fraud.  I want to thank Sonia J. Dave, Special Assistant United States Attorney for the District of Colorado, and our counterparts at the IRS for their support of this investigation.” “Maintaining the public’s trust in government institutions is vital to our democracy,” said Andy Tsui, Special Agent in Charge, IRS Criminal Investigation Denver Field Office.  “When government employees abuse their position of trust to enrich themselves, IRS-CI will partner with other agencies to ensure these criminals are held accountable for their actions.” “Federal employees owe a special duty to the taxpayers we serve,” said United States Attorney Cole Finegan.  “Instead of serving, this defendant stole money and our trust.  We commend our law enforcement partners for pursuing justice in this matter.” Judge Daniel D. Domenico presided over the sentencing on July 13, 2023. This case was investigated by the Social Security Administration Office of Inspector General and Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation (IRS-CI).  This prosecution is being handled by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Sonia J. Dave. SOURCE: Office of the Inspector General (Social Security Administration) Read the full article

Day 341
July 9, 2023
Visited Mount Rainier National Park. We stopped at several sites along the way to the visitor center. This overlook was down a mile or two of steep gravel road up the side of a mountainside:

I heard a couple of hermit thrushes as I looked around. Both the hermit thrushes and the Swainson’s thrushes I’ve heard have somewhat haunting songs; they seem to have the ability to “throw” their voices so it sounds like the beginning and end of their song phrases are coming from different locations. Recordings really don’t do them justice.
As we pulled out and headed back down the mountain, we spotted a male sooty grouse running along the road.
We stopped at Falls Creek to see the small waterfall and stream:

More driving. There are a lot of wildflowers here.

We made one last stop at Reflection Lakes before reaching the visitor center. It’s pretty buggy here. A doe black-tailed deer was in the trail, so I took a few photos from a safe distance on the camera…and then she started approaching me. I found this slightly concerning and decided to take the other path until she was out of the way.

I also saw a female pine grosbeak, another goldfinch relative.
The visitor center was packed. There must have been at least 300 people in the area. We stopped for a while before driving back.
