It's not a new concept, but I wanted to sketch out the differences I imagine between Shen Qingqiu/Jiu, Shen Qingqiu/Yuan, Jueshi Huanggua, and Shen Yuan before I do my live blog of the official English translation 🥰

I feel like there are a lot of people who don’t like SVSSS who for some reason feel like they need to ‘correct’ fans for enjoying it. Listen if I read or watch something and I don’t like it, I don’t post about it and move on. I don’t hope on to actual fans post and tell them their enjoyment isn’t right because of XYZ. You’re completely right about SJ, and I feel like a lot of people turn him into a symbol of the lost ‘potential’ of SV.
This is true. In some ways it’s strange to me, in others it isn’t— this is really just jueshi huanggua behavior in some ways after all. Sort of ironic.
I think a lot of it really does have to do with purity culture. Hating SV itself because it doesn’t fit their moral standards, latching onto SJ both because his backstory tugs at their heartstrings and also because they don’t like the story itself, and viewing SJ as a victim of the narrative (which is in fact true!) lets them put all their hopes on him in that way.
But because of those same moral standards, they can’t accept his character as it is, and have to cut it down to a poor misunderstood victim without any ill intent, because liking a character who is an abuser is something that goes against the purity police.
It would be nice to appreciate characters and stories for the construction, for the way it was all put together, instead of just for the kind of “moral lesson” it teaches— especially when a lot of stories aren’t trying to teach a moral lesson! Especially with MXTX’s works, there’s a theme of moral difficulty, where there is right and wrong in every side. It feels like it’s more of an examination of situations and societies and how different factors can come together for different results— she’s not trying to tell readers right from wrong, but to make an interesting story.
I wish people could realize they were allowed to be interested in a story without it being morally correct, and they don’t have to try to make it teach a moral lesson— it can just be about the fun of the story!

Love writing Scum Villain fanfic because whereas flame reviews are potentially an issue in any fandom, in this one, all you need is to have “OK, Jueshi Huanggua” locked and loaded ready to go if they show up.

SVSSS Inuyasha au cuz i cant not do it. Now, strap on cuz I'm nothing if not self-indulgent
Basically: Luo Binghe - Inuyasha Shen Yuan - Kagome Shen Qingqiu - Kikyou Shang Qinghua - Rin and Jaken Mobei Jun - Sesshomaru Liu Qingge - Sango Liu Mingyan - Kohaku Zhuzhi Lang - Shippou Yue Qingyuan n Mu Qingfan - Kaede Yang Yixuan - Miroku Meng Mo - Myoga Linguang Jun n Tianlang Jun - Naraku
Zhuzhi Lang is (as in canon) Binghe's older cousin, it just so happen that, when Tianlang Jun was sealed under the mountain, he almost died and now is stuck at a child form (he's trying to find a way to free his uncle)
Tianlang Jun's plan is same as canon
Binghe and Shen Qingqiu's relationship as PIDW's canon
Both Shen Yuan and Shang Qinghua timetravel
Shen Yuan isn't the actual reincarnation of Shen Qingqiu, both his second older brother is (this is part of my Shen Brothers Agenda)
SY's elder brother and younger sister are the reincarnations of YQY and NYY (cuz that's part of my agenda)
Hojo (will find him another name, as with the others) is LQG's reincarnation
SY's sickly and weak constitution was partly the fault of the shikon no tama in his body (since he isn't actually SQQ's reincarnation -he's still, not as much but still kinda, sickly after having the jewel forcibly removed from his body as the after-effects of having had it)
