Does the fontaine prophecy remind anyone else of genesis? Like how in christianity we are all supposedly born with an "original sin" which is ALSO a consequence of the original humans (adam and eve) "betraying" God by not following his will, like how people from fontaines sin is (if i remember correctly) not siding with their archon.
In christian tradition people get baptized to enter the religion: being dipped in holy water by a religious authority to "wash away" the original sin. Fontainians who are dipped in holy water, or rather the primordial sea, instead disperse into it, their sin washes away but takes them with it.
Also, fontaine is obviously based on france, specifically taking a lot from eras in which faith was brought into the question (ie the enlightenment and pre revolutionary period based on some clothes being kinda baroque and the difference between the underground and the city) and the civilization before fontaine, remuria ruled by remus and based on rome.
In rome christianity was super not in fashion UNTIL a crazy plague hit and a religion that was mad into caring for the sick (Christianity) suddenly became popular as a result. Remuria fell because of Remus' attepmpts to prevent its fall and Rome fell because of political corruption (and a number of other things).
Oh just a btw dont take this as me talking about how god fearing fontaine is im just talking about what it reminded me of and why 🫶
TL;DR furina is jesus in a way.....
#what would that make neuvillette omg??#peter?#joseph?#is childe JUDAS?#is that other harbinger i dont remember??#anways#Fontaine#genshin impact#ohhh also!!#if this doesnt line up with how you were taught about christianity im sowwy 🫶#my EXPERT background is that i went to a catholic school but not the culty kind like the be kind to everyone kind#they just made us watch the prince of egypt like 30 times to be honest#im like a moses scholar atp#also im greek orthodox but not in the intense way in the albanian way of uhhhh our family lied about our religion for years to maintain it#so its important but never in my life have i sat through a church service uhhhhh#yes.#im like 🫶 living my life

the religious inspiration taken & incorporated into the characters of fontaine as an entire unit & not so much as individual characters will always be the most superior beast in my eyes because a good story tends to have all of their characters influenced &/or connected in some shape or way to the others.
you don't even have to be well versed with the religious inspiration taken to understand the vision they were going for.
jesus getting tempted by the devil three times while he was out in the desert was portrayed by furina getting tempted by three different characters to crack & come clean about her act. those three characters were arlecchino when furina had her on-screen outburst, neuvillette when they had their dispute, & the traveler when furina kept telling herself that telling the travevler the truth wouldn't count because they aren't from teyvat. arlecchino, neuvillette, & the traveler were the 'devil' in those instances.
furina & neuvillette being huge nods towards the harlot of babylon & leviathan which ends in leviathan having to kill the woman it loved. this is portrayed when neuvillette passes his sentence on furina, the guilty verdict giving the divinity the death sentence it needed & thus a part of her being executed.
the days leading up to furina's trial are a nod to the week leading up to jesus' crucifixion.
lyney, lynette, freminet, wriothesley, navia, clorinde, neuvillette, & charlotte being seen as furina's disciples in the same coin to the last supper painting with jesus & his disciples where they feast on his being.
neuvillette being the judas to furina's jesus as he is the one who conspires with those with most influence in fontaine in an identical fashion as judas conspired with religious leaders to get jesus.
a part of furina dying with neuvillette's final judgment cleansing everybody of sin.
it's all just so well done in my opinion & i just really enjoy it.
#ooc. ( ready...action! )#religious themes /#there is so much more i didn't mention here#it's all fresh in my head because i finished the quest again a few days ago#& i'm a disaster i just really love furina & fontaine

|| I'm not certain if i should consider this a headcanon but it's more of a study to furina & focalors biblical references but that i want to establish in my way of writing them but here we go !
The thing is everyone claims that furina is a representation of Jesus, the perfect human, but i think that mihoyo had made Furina be referenced to many more biblical figures. First, is furina being referenced to Mary && focalors being Angel Gabriel. Focalors && furina's first meeting is the enactment of the beginning of new testament , basically the creation of jesus. When focalors, showed up into the mirror, saying the same thing as what Angel Gabriel stated to Mary when he announces the great news, although for furina, the great news isn't as great since she is the same person who have to carry all the sins after all she was a perfect human but No. She isn't , which contradicts to what focalors claim because Furina, is also a reference to people's sin, worshipping Fake Idols, instead of the real God in the bible.
Furina in her 500 years of acting as the Hydro Archon , had earned her a lot of fanatics, not for her being the ' archon' but being the ' idol ' of Opera Epiclese , the diety of being able to show twist and giving a good spectacle && good time . You can see in the bible, that people have sinned multiple times, again && again with them praising a Fake Idol , one popular story is the book of Exodus, where Moses broke the 10 commandments due to his people praising the wrong idol. This is the same with the people of fontaine, they do not praise the hydro archon as the archon that protects them but instead she is being praised as someone who can give temporary amusement && enjoyment. It's so easy how people of fontaine turned their backs to Furina, whenever there's no good trial being offered, cause just like in the bible the fake idols are only there for worshipping && praising when there's happiness && no problems, but when there are problems they immediately blame and toss them away.
another popular depiction of furina is the story of whore of Babylon but everyone knows about it already being the reference to the ruler who believed that she would reign over the earth forever. She said in her heart: “I am, and there is no one besides me; I shall not sit as a widow or know the loss of children" , so I'll not dwell much to that for now
and lastly the whole act 5 finale, in which furina && the cast i being referenced to as the last supper , although furina is said to be jesus here but that isn't quite true, i see that furina is just the reference to enactment of the crucifiction process in the bible.
The whole trial is a reference to the part of the bible where the Romans are asking for jesus to be crucified , the shit show of where everyone is turning their back and screaming at her was a reference to jesus parading himself carrying the cross , where people would insult jesus , spit & call him fake && the other cast , most especially Traveler, is a reference to Judas, turning his back and betraying furina, with their whole plot to make her stand in trial && admit her sins, ( i see Neuvilette here as more of pontius pilate, cause i do believe that he thinks furina is innocent but due to everyone's desire to know that truth, he was forced to do it.) but after the death sentence is being in the process, furina for me doesn't reference jesus here but more of like the sins of the people on the process of forginess, && neuvilette is the one who reference him , since it was his rebirth after the death of Focalors, gaining all his powers and very whole divinity, like how jesus was resurrected, after 3 days, with him being powerful and divine enough to escape the death.
#this is very long study / headcanon so i have to trim it#this is over all my opnion and would be my reference and depiction to my furina#she isn't the god everyone thinks and reference to be#but she is instead to me the representation of the sins of everyone#/ f u r i n a / - self#/ s t u d i e s / - misc.

Proverbes 25

(English text will follow; The lesson of the man of sin, the son of perdition)

The lesson of the man of sin, the son of perdition
“…As if the day of the Lord were already here. Let no one deceive you by any means: for there must first come a falling away, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition” (2 Thessalonians 2.2-3).
In this verse, two conditions are linked for the coming of the Lord; the apostasy must have come, then the “man of perdition” must appear. Today, I suggest you look at the end of the verse; the man of sin, the son of perdition. For the son of perdition to appear, it was first necessary for the apostasy to have come BEFORE. We can therefore see that the son of perdition only enters through the door that has been opened; the abandonment, the turning away from the faith of many Christians.
To situate ourselves in relation to “perdition” (in Greek; Apoleia), we see that the translation generally means destruction, perdition, eternal ruin, eternal misery. In this context, we see that it is “an eternal …” Then, the words that define this Greek term, speak of an end. Now, let us look in the New Testament, the same term in key verses; in John 17.12; 18.9, Jesus says that He kept those who were given to Him, however only one was lost, it was the “son of perdition” (Judah). In Matthew 7.13, the Bible speaks of the narrow way that is Salvation, but the broad and spacious way leads to “perdition”. Our adversaries (those who oppose believers) give as proof their perdition (Phil 1.28). In 2 Thess. 1-5, we are told to be “worthy” of the Kingdom of Heaven, the “others” (those who are not worthy) will be doomed to “perdition”. Hebrews 10.39 tells us that not believing would be our perdition. Romans 9.22 states that there are vessels of wrath prepared for destruction. In the same type of verses, we find all those who will not be part of the Kingdom; the wicked, the impostors, misleading others and themselves (from the faith) as those who “twist” the meaning of the Scriptures, to their destruction (2 Pet. 3.16) 2 Tim. 3.13, speaks of those who only mind the things of the earth. In Philippians 3:19, it is about fountains without water, that is to say, people who cannot give water to others, or those who want to get rich (1 Tim.6.9). We also speak of wicked men whose end will be reserved for perdition (2 Pet 2.17; 2 Pet 3.7; Jude 1.12-13) and finally, Revelation 17.11; we speak of the “beast” that goes to perdition. In the Old Testament, we find the same meaning of perdition in Isaiah 44.19 and 1 Kings 11.7 speaking of the right of the mountain of perdition on which Solomon had made sacrifices to other gods. Numbers 22.32; the angel prevents Balaan from taking the path of perdition by means of his donkey. Job will ask God the question: “is not perdition for the unjust…?” (Job 31.3).
We can therefore firstly understand that perdition is reserved for those who are not on the side of the "light", this perdition and eternal ruin is the result of a choice, that of not walking in the paths that offer life. Its antonym (the opposite of the word) is also Salvation.
Many people think that God is mean, because He does not offer paradise for everyone. But as a famous preacher said; "On the contrary, God is good, if you do not love Him and do not want to spend time with Him on earth, it would be very cruel of Him to force you to spend your eternity in His presence, so He respects your choice!"
Secondly, perdition is also that of a world; a world that has slipped into chaos. In the last times, people will call good, what is bad, and what is good; evil. Isaiah 5.19 uses the words that some Pharisees used and which were premonitory words; "They say: let him hasten and speed up his work, that we may see it! Let the decree of the Holy One of Israel come and be executed, that we may know it!" As Christians, we have the assurance of His Salvation, and if He delays, of His coming. His coming will be the end of His work and we will all see His glory; believers or not. (Isaiah 40.5; 34.16; 52.10; Hab2.14; Lk3.6).
Unfortunately, we continue to inhabit the earth that is going to its perdition; we only have to watch the news to understand the madness of this world and what is taught to children as being in the "norm". The mockery of Christians, the persecutions throughout the world against us who love our Lord, the madness that gangrenes the heart of man and leads him to more and more cruelty, the lack of morality, authenticity, fidelity, gratitude, the common madness, the daily bloody murders and the violence in life that is presented on TV in soap operas, in video games, make us believe that everything is in the "norm" of our life. The reality is that we are in a world doomed to its perdition and it is obvious.
Finally, it was necessary for apostasy to enter first. In this way, the world that was illuminated by faith was abandoned in its own darkness. Everything related to the Christian religion was removed (and continues to be removed). Little by little, countries are shedding faith, like churches. Oddly enough, some religions are stepping up to the plate without prohibitions, while the Only living God is (still) rejected, the Only one who is nevertheless true, whose history was built on Him! The world has chosen its darkness and it is plunging into it. Without God, the earth is heading for its ruin. Moreover, the day when the Church of God is taken by Him to the earth, there will be no more restraint for humans, it is at that moment that the disaster will take place. As we see, it is indeed the "son of perdition" who appears, the man of sin has taken his place in this world and is leading it to its end. This sin affects all humans (who are not aware of it) to lead them into darkness, the church is unfortunately not spared, but it must happen. But we keep our assurance!
Once again, it was therefore necessary for apostasy to make its entrance, so that chaos would follow, thus the perdition of the earth and humanity was finally possible. Let us not forget that we are the "salt" of the earth, if we no longer have "taste", we are no longer of any use (Mat 5.13). The end is coming at our doors, let us remain vigilant, and the end is the return of the Lord who will take those who are faithful to Him until the end! While for the world, it is bad news, for us, it is Good News! Indeed, it is written: "A little while, even a little while, and he who is to come will come, he will not delay" (Heb 10.37).
LET US PRAY: Lord, keep us in You! We see the world running to its perdition, but You are still present! You live in us! Keep us until the end, we sometimes have difficulty with everything we see. We do not understand everything and it is troubling, but we want to trust you until the end! Lord, come to the aid of my brothers and sisters who are experiencing persecution, outrage, who are unjustly condemned! Come strengthen Your Church, come strengthen us until Your return! In the name of Jesus.
Why did I dare to declare that Jesus is the only one who is true? You will know in my next post…

i like your biblical references, is there anymore noteable reference from the Bible that you connect with furina?
Actually there is a lot of biblical references for furina!
This one I actually forgot to talk about was during furina and travelers talk inside the carriage ( before furina's trial). I only connected traveler as Judas but I found something oddly familiar with their conversation which is similar to the conversation of Jesus and satan when Jesus was on his fasting. Or the story called, the temptation of the Christ.
It started when Jesus was in time of solitude ( furina her time of solitude to weep for the people of poisson)
Christ being in a 40 day fasting was on his lowest point
( furina on her lowest point after escaping the angry mob)
Satan showed up and tempted Jesus three times ( traveler approached furina and attempted to make furina to open up three times. A temptation similar of jesus
I'll quote the three attempts traveler did this
First. Is this
The second one
And the last one was a cutscene where traveler is urging furina to tell the truth and furina is about to accept the temptation but their time run out.
This whole part of the archon quest reminded me so much of the temptation of Christ and I wouldn't be surprised if mihoyo really references it to that. Furina is after all somewhat reference to Christ and on this matter us, the traveler is the demon who tries to break whatever wall furina had set up.
In terms of temptation of Christ the aim of the demon was for Christ to have filial attitude towards God, on furina's case, us traveler aims for furina to tell the truth, which is on furinas mind an attempt that could destroy the plans focalors had made to save fontaine. Both can end up poorly if they did succumb to the temptation.
#. ooc#/ h e a d c a n o n / misc.#i have more but i want to flesh out this one a lot.#tw: religious references

A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - First National Tour - September 29, 2015 (Preview) (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: John Rapson (The D'Ysquith Family), Kevin Massey (Monty Navarro), Kristen Beth Williams (Sibella Hallward), Adrienne Eller (Phoebe D'Ysquith), Mary VanArsdel (Miss Marietta Shingle), Kristen Mengelkoch (Lady Eugenia D'Ysquith and others), Christopher Behmke (Magistrate/Actor/Mr. Gorby), Matt Leisy (Tom Copley/Newsboy/Actor/Guard), Megan Loomis (Tour Guide/Newsboy), Ben Roseberry (Chief Inspector Pinckney/Newsboy/Actor), Lesley McKinnell (Miss Evangeline Barley and others) NOTES: Beautiful capture of the tour which launched in Chicago. There's tiny bits of washout when the camera is in wideshot due to the spotlights of the stage. Terrific cast and a wonderful tour of this production! A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder - First National Tour - April 24, 2016 (SJ Bernly's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: John Rapson (The D'Ysquith Family), Kevin Massey (Monty Navarro), Kristen Beth Williams (Sibella Hallward), Adrienne Eller (Phoebe D'Ysquith), Mary VanArsdel (Miss Marietta Shingle), Megan Loomis (u/s Lady Eugenia D'Ysquith and others), Christopher Behmke (Magistrate/Actor/Mr. Gorby), Matt Leisy (Tom Copley/Newsboy/Actor/Guard), Ben Roseberry (Chief Inspector Pinckney/Newsboy/Actor), Lesley McKinnell (Miss Evangeline Barley and others) NOTES: A great capture of the tour. The cast is solid, and the audience is energetic. There are no blackouts, no obstruction, and no washout. It’s filmed in 16:9, with a mix of wides, mediums, and close-ups. The sound is excellent. Includes curtain call, John and Kevin’s BC/EFA speech, and playbill scans. A+ Gentlemen Prefer Blondes - Encores! - May 12, 2012 FORMAT: MP4 (HD) CAST: Megan Hilty (Lorelei Lee), Rachel York (Dorothy Shaw), Aaron Lazar (Henry Spofford), Steven Boyer (Pierre/Louis Lemanteur), Brennan Brown (Steward/Mr. Robert Lemanteur/Gus Esmond Sr.), Stephen Buntrock (Josephus Gage), Simon Jones (Sir Francis Beekman), Deborah Rush (Mrs. Ella Spofford), Sandra Shipley (Lady Phyllis Beekman), Megan Sikora (Gloria Stark), Clarke Thorell (Gus Esmond Jr.) NOTES: Filmed from the back of the balcony. Many heads appear in the frame to start, then when the filmer gets his bearings, the video improves greatly. There are a few times (mostly at the beginning) when the filmer replaces some poor video moments with still shots. These still shots are less than 2 or 3 minutes of the entire show. Overall, a great video, and Megan Hilty is amazing Ghost: The Musical - Berlin - June, 2018 (Rumpel's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Nikolas Heiber (u/s Sam Wheat), Willemijn Verkaik (Molly Jensen), Marion Campbell (Oda Mae Brown), Andreas Bongard (Carl Bruner), Mischa Kiek (Willie Lopez), Nicolas Christahl (Subway Ghost), Klaus Seiffert (Hospital Ghost), Chasity Crisp (Clara), Denise Lucie Aquino (Louise) NOTES: Very Limited trades 3:1 Ghost: The Musical - Broadway - July 28, 2012 (SunsetBlvd79's master) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Richard Fleeshman (Sam Wheat), Caissie Levy (Molly Jensen), Da'Vine Joy Randolph (Oda Mae Brown), Bryce Pinkham (Carl Bruner), Michael Bladerrama (Willie Lopez), Tyler McGee (Subway Ghost) NOTES: Great HD capture of the show toward the end of the run. This is a great capture compared the previous one from March, with the changes that were made from the previews and with the original Oda Mae Brown. Despite what the reviews said, this is one show I thoroughly enjoyed and wish it had a better life on Broadway as it deserved! A- Recording with mostly zooms and a few wide shots. Great views of the effects. A Google Drive link is floating around that contains the wrong VOBs for Act 1-3 and Act 2-2; make sure you get everything! Ghost: The Musical - Hamburg - January 13, 2019 (Closing Night) FORMAT: VOB (with smalls) (SD) CAST: Riccardo Greco (Sam Wheat), Roberta Valentini (Molly Jensen), Marion Campbell (Oda Mae Brown), John Vooijs (Carl Bruner), Mischa Kiek (Willie Lopez), Marius Bingel (Subway Ghost), Alex Bellinkx (Hospital Ghost), Enny de Alba (Clara), Tamara Wörner (Louise) NOTES: Poor picture Quality, no zoom but captures all action and great sound Ghost: The Musical - Hamburg - January, 2019 FORMAT: MP4 (HD) CAST: Riccardo Greco (Sam Wheat), Roberta Valentini (Molly Jensen), Marion Campbell (Oda Mae Brown), John Vooijs (Carl Bruner), Mischa Kiek (Willie Lopez), Marius Bingel (Subway Ghost), Alex Bellinkx (Hospital Ghost), Enny de Alba (Clara), Tamara Wörner (Louise) NOTES: Filmed from first row.
