do you plan to change anything about the miraculous/miracle guardian order? i thought the whole “haha you know have to use a miraculous” thing-a-majig for akane was interesting! perhaps the kwami are the seven mysteries with the clock keepers being guardians? now that the kwamis are said to have actual personalities outside of the whole akuma stuff, it’d be great to see it develop? what are your thoughts on it? 🌸

I have changed quite a bit but at the same time not too much. I want to prioritize scarcity to amplify Teru and Akane's miraculous' story weight.

The miraculouses in this AU are basically near shore anchors created by the gods to allow the presence of the far shore. These charms allow the yielder to harness a temporary supernatural form by the combination of the soul inside. The holder gains equal access to both planes of existence.

I enjoy the current jshk timeline and took inspiration when designing the miraculouses. Right now, the seven pillars (seven mysteries) are seven temples that bridge the near and far shore. Each possess a miraculous that anchor's their existence. These miraculous's however are of a much lessor degree than Teru's and Akane's. They offer little abilities but for the most part just allow regular humans the ability to see supernaturals.

Teru and Akane's miraculous's are created by Sakura and the demon inside Tsukasa who are the gods of creation and destruction. Sakura represents the bridges to the near shore, and tsukasa represent the far shore.

These miraculouses are a drop of Sakura and Tsukasa's power but are fundamental in reestablishing any near shore issues to balance the two planes.

In this story Sakura and Tsukasa aren't present much outside of the antagonist's main goal. (I wonder who that could be if Teru is in adrien's place....)

For more specific details on Nene and Amane: - miraculouses require souls to maintain power and the ability to fuse with the holder

-Nene was a kanagi long long ago who never was assigned a death date. She had to be forcibly taken out of existence by Sakura. She uses Nene's soul to create her miraculous.

-In this timeline the demon who possesses tsukasa kills amane. He use's Amane's soul to create his miraculous.

-These miraculouses are only given by the two gods when existence is truly at risk. They do not have a physical temple or act as anchors.

--- To answer your last thought I honestly have not kept up much with the miraculous lore after season four haha. I think it does make sense to have plagg and tiki to have a bigger presence than just a clutch to the butterfly miraculous. I always love it when you interact! Thank you for the note <3

About season 2…

so i’m sure you know that there with be a season two of tbhk, so ive been wondering: how much more of the manga do you think will be covered? do you think they’ll skip around again? and also, do you think they may include the hananene kiss scene(chapter 86), or is that too late in the manga for them to animate? haha sorry, i’ve been trying to come up with my own theories but i’m terrible at this

So, it will depend on the number of episodes and whether they will follow the correct order. The first season was so short, they managed to adapt some parts of the manga but it was all very rushed.

If the second season has 12 episodes, they will probably end it in the PP arc (because they ended the first season in the arc of Mitsuba's return, after that would be the festival, where Nene meets little Amane, and followed by that, the PP arc) .

If it goes like the first season, we still don't know if they will adapt the exorcist's arc. Tsukasa drew on the wall in the last episode of the anime, they also intended to animate the first arc of the clock (which reveals about Nene's lifespan).

If the second season and the reboot of the first are long, with 24 episodes, then I think they can get to the beginning of arc number six (being positive) imagining that they don't skip arcs or change their order.

It will also depend on how much they will develop the arc. For example, the mermaid's arc developed very quickly and skipped some important parts, while Mitsuba's arc had a little more screen time.

So, everything will depend…. I wish they would adapt the arc of the red house ;-;

Hahaha it's like that, theories come out of nowhere, sometimes they seem to make sense, sometimes they don't… Remember that it's JSHK, this manga is difficult to make theories, it has a lot of information and most of it is contradictory hahaha so don't demand too much from yourself ;)

Just a small post (lol) to explain my love for JSHK because I’m obsessed with this manga since 3 years and I have to ramble about this wherever and whenever I can.

Also I’m French so my English is probably bad but at this point I don’t care about it.

Back then in March 2020 I wanted to watch a short shojo-like anime. I was depressed af, made attempts and felt unloved, unlikable, and unable to like anything since I had watched some animes and I always ended up disappointed for some reason.

I felt unworthy of love so I just needed to have a good time by watching two idiots in love (that’s what I thought about shojos and it’s a part of the truth). The op of JSHK just popped in my YouTube recommendations, I didn’t understand anything but I saw it was classified as romance, supernatural, school-life comedy with only 8 episodes (I discovered it before the end of the season) and I thought "great, I’ll have a good time not to think about my messy life, I’ll forget quickly about this — it happened the day before an exam so I had to be focused on the exam *cough* — and everything will be fine !"

Oh God.

When I watched 5 episodes many thoughts came to my mind like… I thought at first I’ll get to hate Nene and Kou because of how annoying they were, and I stopped trusting Hanako when he said not everyone could summon him THIS SENTENCE WAS A HUGE REDFLAG FOR ME! Also I recognized myself a lot in him and it didn’t make me feel very good, but I enjoyed it anyways, I was genuinely surprised to like this cutie show!

But I also felt something was wrong. Like. It can’t be THAT cute. I had a bad feeling, I couldn’t identify it I just felt scared for the main cast for some reason.

Then we got a bit of Amane’s backstory and it crashed my soul. I thought "oh ok it will be THAT angsty sometimes but… it won’t be often right?" I was soooo shocked I shut down for almost an hour after the episode.

Then there’s Mitsuba and Kou and THAT moment made me cry. I was afraid Mitsuba’s case would be solved by some power of friendship mess and I did NOT wanted that in this cute-but-angsty series. I absolutely despise power of friendship almost everytime I see it in a manga.

Tsukasa broke my heart in a million of pieces, I felt betrayed because I just wanted to have a good moment with cute characters and HERE I AM CRYING FOR THE DEATH OF AN ALREADY DEAD PERSON EVEN THOUGH I CANT REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I CRIED BECAUSE OF AN ANIME OH MY GOOD THIS IS SOO GOOD.

I wanted to know the end of the story because I thought it would be a short one. I live in France and the manga wasn’t published yet, there were no scans so I looked for the English scans, there were 65 of them at this moment.

I’ve read everything in a single night. Before my exam. I didn’t sleep well though.

This was such a new feeling for me. To finally discover a story that matched my tastes so much, that made me go through so much emotions I can’t even describe. I fell in love with JSHK and I was so happy. Because I saw some foreshadowings that worried me (Nene’s charadesign especially) and the manga told me HELL YEAH YOU HAVE EVERY REASON TO BE WORRIED ABOUT THEM AND ILL GIVE YOU MUCH MORE REASONS TO WORRY FOR THEM.

Picture Perfect Arc especially was a masterpiece to me at this point (it was 3: AM I felt still tired). I loved every moment, every character development… I thought "will the next chapters be as good as those? I don’t know how".

Then chapter 71 crashed my heart again. I cried again, for almost an hour which never happened in my life before.

Still the manga gives me everything that I need. I wanted so badly to see a character development such as Nene’s and Kou’s, to read such a wonderful story that will gives me the inspiration to theorize on it, to admire an art style so unique and distinct from everything else… but the more I read it the more I realized I needed to go on therapy because i recognized myself a lot only in ghosts. Even now I still kin Hanako, Mitsuba and Shijima (less than it was lol). Also I discovered the feeling of kinning a character, it never happened to me before I read JSHK.

The more I think about it, the more I fall in love with it, the more I’m worried because the manga matches my tastes so much and I’m a sadistic person especially with fictional persons so I’m awfully scared, but UGHHHHH THIS IS SUCH A GREAT FEELING!

Anyways, I’m just some random young adult rambling about the manga that made me realize I have great tastes, that’s why I’m a picky eater. Thank you AidaIro for making me laugh and cry a lot.

JSHK Spooktober Day 2! Costumes

Time of costumes and fall is upon us! I wanted to participate in JSHK Spooktober 🧡 Idk if I’ll be able to do the other days but I got Day 2 Dolls/Costumes done! I recently watched the first season of Chuunibiyou with my bestie @mokkemusic and fell in love with the main two characters Yuuta and Rikka who look VERY similar to my two favorite characters in tbhk aoi and akane. So I had Aoikane dress up as Yuuka and had Yuuka dress up as Aoikane 😝

At this rate, I’m pretty sure Toilet-bound Hanako-kun is going to end with the Star Festival arc since it happened right after the events of the Hell of Mirrors storyline…which means we’re going to see this manga panel as the final scene of the anime:

Or is it a sign that after the school camp arc will be a Tsukasa arc? A good question!

Firstly, Tsukasa has once appeared in AidaIro's header before 2020; which was during April Fools, one year. As a joke, they changed their Twitter layout to Tsukasa, as they usually had Hanako-kun front and center.

But now, Tsukasa has been showing up in AidaIro's headers consistently for the last few months; for almost half of the current arc!

It started with these two on April Fools, which coincides with how Tsukasa took over the account on April Fools once before. It was specifically tied into a promotion; AidaIro was advertising that JSHK candy was being made! (Which is... a thing I barely know about, but is surely happening at some point and somewhere, for people living in Japan!)

And then, AidaIro kept making Tsukasa headers!

First, Tsukasa with cherry blossoms! Since Spring had come, AidaIro changed the header to reflect the season, while using Tsukasa to show it.

So simultaneously AidaIro has been reflecting events within the season through their headers, while keeping them Tsukasa themed. We see Tsukasa with Koinobori for Golden Week, Tsukasa with umbrellas in the Rainy Season, Tsukasa enjoying the meteor showers of Summer...

Of course, there was then a lull with the Hanako of the Opera event (which Tsukasa was also prominently involved in), but then it picked up again afterwards with more Tsukasa headers.

I'm not sure what the goal is here, honestly. It's possible AidaIro just likes Tsukasa (or understands his great popularity with fans), and wanted to give Tsukasa a spotlight since he's totally absent from the current story arc. There might be some clues about Amane and Tsukasa's past in these, but for now I think it's simply because Tsukasa is popular and adorable.

And I cannot help but agree! I hope we continue seeing him, at least til he comes back into the story! I think it would be cool if AidaIro gave other characters a chance to shine in the headers, too, though. (Give Yako something!)

Episode 12 - The Little Mermaid

Let’s Talk About JSHK Anime #3

Warning: Manga spoilers for The Little Mermaid arc, The Clock Keeper arc, and chapter 64!!! (just a bit, skip point no. 5, 6, and 10 if you don’t want to get spoiled) Also … this ended up way longer than I intended.

Well that was one heck of a feels trip. It’s probably my new favorite episode, just because everyone is here being wholesome lmao.

This is mostly hananene meta I ain’t even gonna lie.

Before we begin, shout out to Black Canyon, our newest anime cutie pie. Just look at him, folks. Just chilling with his sunflower seed.

He has no idea the kind of life his owner leads.

I said before that the best part of episode 12 is how it made Daydream worse, so now I’m gonna ramble about it.

“Maybe different species can’t understand each other after all.”

“Maybe it would be better if I were an apparition too.”

This is my favorite part of the episode. And no, not in the sense that I want Nene to die just so that she and Hanako can be together. But because of how Lerche actually explored deeper what was said only once in the manga.

Well, both in the manga and anime Nene ended up accepting the mermaid’s blood because of her desire to be popular, but the anime decided to revisit what she said earlier in the episode.

Not only did that make her decision kinda less selfish, it’s also just … sad. Thinking that your friend, someone you really cared about, doesn’t trust you enough to tell you things about themselves, to the point where you’re willing to go to such lengths as turning into an apparition just to understand them.

And if you think about it, isn’t this part of her true wish? To have her feelings be reciprocated? Man I just realized that as I wrote this and I am mindblown.

She thought she finally got her wish with Hanako. I mean, he said it himself in the first ep (”You wanted someone, anyone, to return your feelings, right? And as far as you’re concerned, sharing a bond with someone is the same thing, right?”). So it must’ve hit her really hard when she thought he didn’t trust her. Especially with all the wrong ideas the fishes were feeding her mind.

Then we got this little flashback. At first I was like, “Girl, you really be thinking that he doesn’t care about you while recalling the moment he apologized to you and hugged you? Are you insane?”

But after some thinking of my own, it occurred to me. Maybe she was too used to having her feelings not reciprocated, she couldn’t believe it when someone finally did. Not to mention Hanako did kinda trick her with his fake confession a while back (heh, he’s not the only one with trust issues, eh?). And that just made the entire thing even sadder.

So when Nene said, “But I thought, if I were an apparition like you, I could get closer to you. Then, maybe I’d be able to understand you, Hanako-kun. Although I know I probably don’t mean anything to you.”

That was a harsh wake up call for Hanako.

(Btw even more full circle, Hanako brought up Nene’s wish to become human again in the first episode. Nice.)

So. We got one daikon girl who’s afraid of not having her feelings reciprocated, and one ghost boy who’s afraid that daikon girl wouldn’t be his friend anymore if she knew about his past.

While in actuality, said daikon girl already decided she wanted to and would be his friend no matter what, and ghost boy had grown to care about her more than he thought he would.

He heard what she said to Tsuchigomori. He knew all about regret, too.  I mean, honestly, I think if she had said no, he’d let her walk away right then and there, no questions asked. But she didn’t.

Nene’s wish finally came true here. And the best part? It wasn’t the work of magic or curses. Just Hanako finally shoving his fear aside, offering himself as he was, and letting her decide.

And she still chose to be with him.

Heh. Lemme just. Sob for a bit.

Is my hananene trash brain reading too much into this? Idk. Maybe.

So props to the production team for managing to add even more weight to this arc. Which, they had to, since it’s the season finale and all. But I love what they did!

Onto my commentaries!

1. The KouNene

Good shit. She was worried about him but he didn’t want her to worry so he just smiled it off? These two are precious. Thought they were gonna interact. Sadly not. Buuuut! (see point 12)

2. Hanako’s classroom visit

He. Is. So. Adorable. Someone please take his babey license away he’s too dangerous.

Hanako’s classroom visit is like my absolute favorite clingy Hanako moment, so I’m really happy I get to see it this season. Ugh. My kokoro. Hugging her from behind, that semi confession vibe … Smooth mf.

The Mokke brushing Nene’s hair!!! The radish hairdo tho lmao.

On a sidenote, as a history nerd I appreciate that they’re actually putting lessons in the background. And the teacher talked about Apollo 11 again??? While my boy was in the room? That ish both hurt and pleased me.

3. The Clock Keeper rumor drop

Heeeeeehhhhh? What’s thiiiiiissss?

4. This freaking thing

*flips table* Darn production team been knew I’m hananene trash how dare they do this to me.

And lookie here there’s Kodama chilling.

5. Fishies! (!!!manga spoiler for The Little Mermaid arc!!!)

Pufferfish didn’t die. Well, good for him. Also I can’t believe they just call the other fish ‘yeah yeah’ lmao what the freak. Has it always been like that in the manga?

6. AOI AND AKANE (!!!spoilers for chapter 64!!!)

I swear I did not intend this numbering coincidence.

*claps* Boi. Nene asking Aoi about cutting ties with someone she’s interested in? And then Akane just swooped in and say he’d rather cut his head off than cut ties with Aoi? What about getting impaled, huh, boy? Would that do?

The not-so-subtle call out to these two pairs’ parallel? BOI.

7. Nene and Yako

These two just chilling together having girl talk, and Yako let Nene pet her? That’s some adorable shit right there. Admit it Yako you like her.

Yako also be really hitting home with what she said. It was extra heavy coming from her, considering what happened to her and Misaki. Boiiiiii.

8. Tsuchigomori

Oh my God, his laughter. Just … oh my God.

Tsuchigomori in dad mode is always one of the highlights of the episode/chapter.

By the way, in this scene according to the sub, Nene asked Tsuchigomori who Tsukasa is. But she knew who he is already. Is it possible that the sub misinterpreted it? ‘Cause I think what she actually meant was, “What happened to him and Tsukasa-kun in the past?”

If someone who speaks Japanese could share their wisdom, please do!

9. The 5 pm bell and twilight

Look how pretty they are!!!

Lo and behold, another important hananene interaction while the 5 pm bell plays in the background. Also, twilight? Y’all giving me Kimi no Na wa flashbacks.

“Twilight, when it’s neither day or night. When the world blurs and one might encounter something not human.”

Huh … kinda fits the ‘boundary’ concept but it still hurt.

Anyway they still had Hanako tell her what she already knew. And I did say in my ‘Walking Blind’ post that it’d be redundant. But since the episode kinda emphasized Nene’s desire to understand Hanako, having him actually tell her himself, even though she already knew it, was a big deal. It’s not about what she knows, it’s about him opening up to her. So I’m super cool with it.

10. The Broadcasting Club (!!!spoilers for The Clock Keeper arc!!!)

I love how Natsuhiko and Sakura are actually decent people. When he told Mitsuba that he was free to choose to stay with them or not? That’s solid, man. Though, of course, Tsukasa might not be as kind.

Speaking of, I know it couldn’t be anything else, but I’m still not sure if Tsukasa’s drawing was confirmation for season 2. Don’t wanna get my hopes up. Imma just enjoy what I currently have.

Kinda curious, though. Because Clock Keeper wasn’t Tsukasa’s doing. Maybe he was the one who released Mirai? But tbh I’d prefer if it wasn’t so. Because having more cases of supernaturals going loco without it being one of Tsukasa’s games is interesting, and kinda underlines the need of The Seven Wonders to keep supernaturals in check.

12. The Adventures of Minamoto and the Summer Vegetables

You go, Kou! I’m rooting for you oh my God you’re so precious.

And look at that ikemen smile! Him supporting Kou is just top notch sweet y’all I can’t-

Ngl this was the biggest surprise of the episode. Teru finding out that summer vegetables = Nene? Broooooo. Interesting. I don’t think this little addition warrants any changes to their future interaction, so it should be safe. Clever replacement, too, those veggies.

It’s so sweet that Nene delivered those veggies to Kou! Just imagine the Minamoto family having veggies for dinner. Awww.

(Also, Nene wrote her name in hiragana instead of kanji. Is that a reference to how bad Kou is with kanji? Lol, so sweet)

13. The Coda!!!

Look at him. Just look at him. Look how lovesick he is y’all I can’t-

THEY’RE SO ADORABLE.

All in all, I love this episode. Sorry for how long this post is. I’m just dealing with so many feels right now. Gaaahhhhh.

Argh I know this is like too soon but I can’t wait for Season 2 of JSHK at 2021!! I wanna know the voice actors of Kako, Mirai, Shijima maybe No.6? And as much as I love the JSHK Op and Ed I hope the new one will be just as good really haha! What do u think that’s going to happen for Season 2 of JSHK?

I love "No. 7" and "Tiny Light" with all my heart ;w;; but of course new ones are welcomed! I've mentioned this plenty of times already but I do really love the Tanabata Arcーthough I'm not sure if it'll be in the second season if there is one.

Maybe Lerche will pull it off? Like they'll make it that Nene invites Kou after the Three Clock Keepers arc? Or maybe after the Searching arc?

I agree with the people who said they'd start the season with a filler chapter like the Mokke of the dead chapter. Okay, so here are my thoughts about what episodes will be aired:

MAJOR SPOILERS FROM THE MANGA!

Episode 1 - Mokke of the dead (Chapter 39)

• A fun way to start the new season! Also I'd love to see this scene animated >:3

Episode 2 - The Three Clock Keepers (Parts 1 & 2)

• I think Akane revealed as the clock keeper is a good cliffhanger, don't you think?

Episode 3 - The Three Clock Keepers (Parts 3 & 4)

• C'mon, this would be a good cliffhanger too! Mirai saying "I can't move her time forward! Honorable No. 7... Does this mean she... has no more time left...?" Then cue the ED ;w;;

Episode 4 - The Three Clock Keepers (Part 5) and Searching Arc

• Idk. I feel like Lerche would try and compile these two into one episode? I want the rooftop kiss please 🥺

Episode 5 - Tanabata Arc (Part 1)

• Yeah, yeah I'm super biased xD I want this precious arc to be animated okay? Also Kou still might be down at this point right? So Nene would like to cheer him up. So the end of this episode would be baby Amane offering Nene his hand.

Episode 6 - Tanabata Arc (Part 2)

• Baby Amane enjoying the festival with Nene-oneesan 🥺 Then Nene would wake up to Hanako smiling gently at her. Then the end scene would be Amane hanging his wish slips aaaaa

Episodes 7 to 12 - Picture Perfect Arc and End of a Dream Arc

• We all know how long the Picture Perfect arc is so I guess 6 whole episodes would be enough? I'm not sure...

I think episode 11's end scene would be the revelation of Hanako's real wish. Then the final episode would be the scene where Nene asks Hanako to grant her wish.

The ED song would start playing from the scene with Nene removing the seal of Shijima's yorishiro. And I do adore the scene with the Toilet Trio 🥺 Hanako poking Kou's cheek while his arm is on Nene's shoulder. I guess they wouldn't include the exams? They'll just end it with that scene.

Midnight Jam Session <3

(I know it's not canon, but if Sherlock Holmes can play violin so should Shuichi).

Hananene fishies <3 I love everyone's goldfish designs. Or really any designs that are light and flowy. One of my favorite types of photography to reference for drawings is underwater photography.

This was going to be a cute/smiley piece. Then the sketch of Gundam gave huge, cartoon betrayal vibes and I refused to back peddle. So here's too dorks about to have a war in the snow.

(Also love the idea of these two always wearing contrasting colors and Gundam wearing white in winter to blend in with the snow <3).

It's finally getting cold outside in my area and I'm getting hyped for the winter season!

8 - superheroes/powers AU - kind-of, this one’s a magical girl AU. AkaAoi

"Hurry!" She whispers as she takes a huge flying leap over the ridge of the roof, the ends of her sash fluttering behind her. Ahh, she'll never get over this, the sensation of almost-flying, of jumping into the air, and instead of falling, she—

—floats, as gently as if gravity was a dream.

She lands with an elegant click on her heel, right onto the next roof.

"Ao-chan!" Scandalised and red-faced, Akane catches up to her, looking quite dashing in his new get-up. His magical girl outfit, she supposed she could say. He lands with a neat step, his mask glinting gold underneath the light of the moon, and scattered streetlights. "Don't go ahead without me!"

"I was careful not to be seen." She pouts at him, tucking her arms by her hips. She'd even ensured there was a shadow of a cloud passing before taking the leap. Anyway, who even looked up on rooftops? At most, stargazers or security cams.

"No, the problem is-!" He waves a hand, flustered. "Your skirt, Ao-chan! What if someone saw?"

"Ah." Aoi stares at him, then huffs a laugh. "It's okay, it was too high up~"

“That doesn’t make it okay what if-”

Akane continued to fret out loud for several minutes, so Aoi smiled sweetly and let him. The night air was cool and whisked away most of the words from Aoi’s hearing, while they continued on their nightly patrol.

For every night, you see, there were ayakashi.

How did this begin, you ask? Well—

It all began, as with all magical girl animes do, with a magical companion. Except these mini fairies were not cute or endearing at all. Aoi did not think they were even trying.

Hers appeared as a bone-masked goatman that apparently brought death wherever he stepped. (It was just as well he never landed anywhere, and always flew with tiny wings.) Ergo, a shinigami in chibi form, asking her to be a sacrifice ahem tribute, to offer her body and soul up to wield the Powers of Life and Death aka magical girl, to help close up the portals between the boundaries of the Near and Far Shores.

Aoi of course, was suitably thrilled after the shock. Something interesting! More to life than just what was visible in this harsh reality!

And then of course, it turned out there was another magical girl — well boy in town, and within a few seconds of talking to him Aoi already knew who it was, no need to even waste several seasons of episodes dancing on the 'will they won't they find out'. It was clearly her childhood friend who also had a massive crush cough obsession with her, who she knew better than anyone, Akane.

Turned out he'd been contracted too. Except he kind of got tricked? Yikes, his companion was a jerk.

Apparently his was a hooded old man, and so that meant Akane got the option of a hood yes but he also got a spizzy new suit and an owl mask and long hair in a tail, which was all very good and did do wonders to her awkward childhood friend. Because for once he actually looked like he could give other models a run for their money.

(Aoi carefully did not think more on this train of thought.)

Another interesting note: transforming made them supernatural, and much more mature-looking. Or at least, that was what Aoi thought was what was happening, because she didn't feel that much different in her get-up. Seeing her transformed reflection, she didn't think she'd grown any taller either.

Perhaps it was just as well. She didn’t need it.

Akane of course, reassured her that she was even more beautiful, if that was possible, in her shrine maiden dress, because she was already Perfect the way she was.

Aoi smiled and took it as the compliment it was. There was no other way to take it otherwise, not with Akane.

Most annoyingly, Akane would not tell her what his wish was in exchange for becoming a magical boy. Especially since he even said he had been manipulated. Aoi had suspicions, but decided to leave it at that. Contracts were highly personal for magi, after all.

She knew she would never tell anyone what hers was.

And then Akane’s worry came true: they were seen. Not just seen, but by a boy with a telescope. In summary, Akane’s worst nightmare when it came to preserving her ‘purity’.

Staring down at wide yellow eyes gaping at them, she internally sighed. There actually was a stargazer in their area.

Two of them, in fact. There was another set of eyes peering over from the first boy’s shoulder. Twins, how cute. Akane was fidgeting in that certain way he thought was subtle, gloved fingers inching towards his pocket where his pocket watch was. Aoi could see he was itching to just use his power and flee the scene, but—

Aoi didn’t want to do that. She shot him a look.

The second boy ran over to them, goggling at their outfits. “What’s a shrine maiden and a suit guy doing here?” He grinned toothily, holding out his hand.

The first boy continued to stare at them apprehensively. “Tsukasa…” He walked forward, tugging on his brother’s sleeve.

Besides, she didn’t think anyone was going to believe them if they told.

“They’re magi too, aren’t they?” Tsukasa said confidently.

They all froze. “Too?” Aoi echoed, Akane blinking rapidly beside her.

The other boy in front of them looked very uncomfortable for a moment, but he sighed and relented at Tsukasa’s gleeful look, after glaring at him. He reluctantly said, “I was the first one in the area.” He shot them a suspicious look. “I don’t understand — how can there be more? Who contracted with you?”

// Originally written in May for an AkaAoi prompt! Wanted to make them partners-in-crime phantom thieves like in Kaitou Saint Tail, but had no idea where to take it.

I think I wrote this after having watched a magical girl anime compilation, and I was just like lol I’m not writing the dual identity situation of ‘am I in love with 2 different people’. ooH hananeneama Just included the Yugi twins today, because why not make them all exploits of the magical child system lol

-Amane would have made a wish to protect, hence power is barriers. I like to think he made that wish to protect Nene (why? am unsure. she’s an easy target because she’s gullible?) -imagining Aoi’s power is smth like Chat Noir’s Cataclysm. Can only revive dead things so luckily there’s the undo button -if Nene is a magical girl, her power would be illusions. -Kou!!! Next town over! Or, he’s the policeman’s kid XD
