track star lucas sinclair hcs 🏃🏿
he’s always been a great runner, he and will had races to see who was the fastest, lucas won them every time.
after s4, he thought about taking track since basketball was a bust.
he has pretty good stamina, he’s looked up to florence griffin joyner aka Flo-Jo. (he cried for days when she died)
he goes on 5am runs around the neighborhood.
the party would definitely question why he’d want to even do track (because they don’t pay attention to my boy 😔)
erica would voluntarily come to every track meet just to yell at the people who underestimate her big brother.
it’s given him some pretty nice calfs.
his family are the loudest during his runs, they’ve embarrassed him multiple times but lucas has paid no attention.
when people asked him which track star he looked up to, he’d say flo and their first response would be “a girl?” 🤨
he’d usually get 2nd or 3rd but sometimes, he’d get lucky and make it to 1st.
all i got right now, could talk about this forever tho 🥰

Will Smith’s Triumphant Return to Music with Based on a True Story
Tumblr media
After two decades away from the rap scene, Will Smith is stepping back into the spotlight with his highly anticipated album, Based on a True Story, set to release on March 28, 2025. Known for his storytelling prowess and charismatic delivery, Smith is channeling personal growth, resilience, and a renewed artistic vision into this latest project. His return to music marks a significant moment in his career, one that follows years of introspection, public scrutiny, and personal transformation. While Smith has remained a cultural icon through acting and entrepreneurship, Based on a True Story is a return to his musical roots—a space where he once thrived with chart-topping hits and Grammy wins. A Star-Studded Comeback The album is packed with powerhouse collaborations, including Big Sean, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Teyana Taylor, Jac Ross, and Jaden Smith. Each artist brings a unique energy, blending old-school lyricism with contemporary hip-hop influences. This fusion of styles is evident in the lead singles, which have already begun generating buzz. One standout track, “Beautiful Scars,” featuring Big Sean and Obanga, explores personal redemption and self-discovery. The song’s music video, a creative homage to The Matrix, showcases Smith stepping into a symbolic Neo-like role—perhaps a nod to rewriting his own narrative after past controversies. Meanwhile, “Tantrum” with Joyner Lucas delivers raw emotion and a charged energy, tackling themes of perseverance amid public adversity. Joyner’s aggressive lyricism complements Smith’s introspective storytelling, making for a powerful combination. Another highlight is “Work of Art,” featuring Russ and Jaden Smith. This song embraces themes of artistic freedom and authenticity, bridging generational perspectives between father and son. Jaden’s presence adds an intimate, familial layer to the album, signaling Smith’s evolution as both an artist and a mentor. A Deeply Personal Album Based on a True Story is structured into 14 tracks, including five previously released singles, all of which reflect Smith’s journey over the past two decades. From his rise as a hip-hop pioneer in the late ‘80s to his transition into Hollywood superstardom, he has continuously reinvented himself. However, this album is more than a return—it’s a recalibration of his voice in an era where authenticity reigns supreme. His performance of “You Can Make It” at the 2024 BET Awards set the tone for this era, delivering an uplifting message with gospel influences. The response was overwhelmingly positive, reinforcing that his presence in music is still welcome, perhaps even overdue. With Based on a True Story, Smith isn’t just making a comeback—he’s crafting a statement. This album is both a reminder of his impact on hip-hop and a testament to his continued relevance in an ever-evolving industry. Read the full article

Talk to Me
Stay Safe, Stay Home Writing Challenge: (Prompt #16 – Call me if you need anything)
Genre:  Romance
Pairing:  Modern Ivar x OC
Fandom: Vikings
Warning: Language/mild angst
Rating: M
Summary: Can an online relationship work in the real world?  Ivar and Cash are about to find out.
A/N:  So this is my first challenge.  What was supposed to be a one-shot has turned into a mini-series.  I’m having so much fun writing it.  I haven't written in about 10 years - my muses all went away when Dave Batista left WWE. Then one day, Alex Høgh Andersen showed up and all of my muses came back!  I’m so happy!
Please, note if you notice grammatical errors in the dialogues between characters, it’s because I write how people speak.  Any other errors may just be because I was careless...
Also, I’m writing the Lothbroks as Europeans speaking English. In my head, when they are together they are speaking Norweigan but when they speak English, it’s with their Vikings’ show accents.
Chapter 2
Chapter 1
What the fuck am I doing?  No seriously, what the fuck was she doing?
Cash didn’t do things like this.  Ever.  She had literally seen every episode of MTV’s Catfish and 90 Day Fiance (the original show, Abroad, and After the 90 Days). She was responsible, respectable, intelligent, reasonably attractive and she had just landed a job where she actually got to use her degree. This side of 25 was looking up for her. She wasn’t desperate, was she?
She was going to feel so stupid when everyone rubbed it in her face that this “Ivar” guy didn’t really exist, or turned out to be something totally other than what he claimed. Although she had only told a handful of people about her trip, they had all filled her head with so much more angst that she almost canceled the trip four times in the last month.  Her mom was convinced that Cash was going to be kidnapped and sold into an Eastern European sex trafficking ring.  While her best friend just knew that Ivar was going to turn out to be a sadistic 65-year-old ex-KGB operative who hated Americans and only wanted to torture her like in that movie Hostel.  Even her younger brother tried to email Nev & Max to see if MTV could do an episode of Catfish Abroad and put her on blast for all of his friends to see.
Cash let out a nervous breath as she looked around the Austrian Airlines terminal. Her flight to Vienna was due to start boarding in a little more than an hour and there were still a lot of empty seats.
She fidgeted in her chair trying to fish her phone out of her jacket pocket.  What she needed was mood music – Billie Eilish, although played in heavy rotation lately, wasn’t cutting it.  She needed mood music - something angrier... more upbeat.  Remi Ma or Joyner Lucas?  Why not both? She made a quick playlist, put it on shuffle, and bobbed her head to the music.
No sooner did she feel herself getting lost in the beat, did the music stop and the phone ring.  With a slight eye roll, Cash answered the phone pleasantly, “Hey Ma.”
“Hey, honey. How you doing?”  Barbara Heath spoke to her daughter in a voice reserved for someone that might have just suffered a loss or been seriously injured, “You okay?”
“Yeah, Ma.  I’m fine.”
“You know, it’s not too late to come home, Shay.”  Cash cringed at her mother’s nickname for her.  All of her life, she had tried to get people to call her Cash, but her parents were still hell-bent on calling her Shay.  “No one would blame you.  I didn’t tell anyone you were going on your little excursion except your Aunt Margaret and Gigi.  You know they don’t think this is a good idea, either.  And you know your Daddy is still upset that you decided to go.”
“Ma, don’t.”  She slouched in her seat and looked up at the airport ceiling. “When I finished grad school, I told you guys I wanted to travel more. Everyone was fine with it then.  Now all of a sudden everyone is against me going…”
“We’re aren’t!” Barbara walked across the kitchen with her glass of wine and took a seat at the kitchen counter.  She didn’t want to start another fight with her daughter, but she needed to Cash to understand how dangerous this could be. “I just don’t understand about this going across the world to meet some boy. There are plenty of those here.”
Oh my, God.  “For the last time, I’m going to Vienna because I haven’t been back to Austria since undergrad.  While I’m there I’m going to meet up with one of my friends, Ma.”
“Yeah, a friend you met on the internet.”
“Really?  I’m about to get on a plane and I won’t see you for weeks, and you want to do this now?  How about saying ‘Have a nice trip’ or ‘I’m proud of you for being so adventurous’ or something like that?” She tried not to raise her voice, but she could tell her frustration at her mother mixed with her own nerves about the situation was coming through on the phone.
Barbara sighed in defeat. “You got that stubbornness from your Daddy.”  She was relieved when she heard her daughter chuckle.  “You know, I’m proud of you.  And I want you to have so much fun!  This is going to be the best trip of your life. I just want you to be careful and know that I will worry about you. Let me know when you land, and when you get to your hotel, and when you meet this Ivar-boy.”  She was going to make a point to stop babying her as soon as she came back from Europe. “Just know that I love you.  Call me if you need anything.  Me and your Daddy will be on the first flight to come get you and bring you…”
“I love you, too Mommy. I’ll call you when I land.”
When Cash hit the button to end the call, she noticed a WhatsApp notification on her phone.  She hadn’t even heard the phone chime.  She felt the smile slide across her face as she opened the app.
Ivar was the only person who ever contacted her on WhatsApp.

_______________________________________________________________
“Ahh, Ivar, you will be fine.”  Ivar cut his blue eyes over to his brother driving the car.  “You will have fun.  You’ll see.”
He folded his arms over his chest, like a child, and returned his gaze out of the passenger’s window. “I am not a child, Bubbe. I do not a chaperone.”  He really hated being the youngest. His brothers always acted like he was completely incapable of doing anything on his own.
“I know, brother.” Ubbe let out a soft chuckle and connected eyes with Hvitserk in the backseat through the rearview mirror, “Serk is not coming to chaperone. He is coming with you, to help you.”
“I do not need help, either.”  Ivar was sick of this fight.  He had been having it with his brothers for about a month now.  He was perfectly capable of traveling by himself, without Hvitserk’s assistance. “And why Serk?  He is the least responsible of us all.”
Hvitserk nodded in agreement from the backseat and smiled good-naturedly. He really didn’t give a shit what Ivar wanted to do.  All he knew was Bjorn was footing the bill for his trip to Austria with Ivar and he wasn’t about to turn down a free vacation. Women, liquor, food, and a hotel suite...all he had to do was carry Ivar’s bags and help him through the airport? It sounded like a sweet deal to him.
Ubbe shook his brother’s shoulder, “C’mon, Ivy.  I would come with you if I could. I have to work.”  He peeked over at his brother’s face, noting his anger looked something more akin to nerves.  “Besides, Serk will give you much more freedom than I would.  Who knows, you might really like this girl when you meet her.”
“It is not like that.” Ivar said quietly, looking out of the window.  He wanted to talk to Ubbe about Cash for some time now, but Ubbe was always so busy with work. Besides, he and Torvi had just had a baby. He clearly had more important things to think about than his little brother and his lack of experience with women. But, Ubbe was the kindest and most level headed person he knew. What he wouldn’t give for some of his big brother’s advice right now. “We are just friends.”  Even if that’s not what he wanted, he was sure that’s all they would end up being.
“But there may come a time when you are not just friends.”  Ubbe tried to hide his smirk as he noticed the blush start to creep up Ivar’s neck and settle on his earlobes.  “What will you do then, hmm?”
“He will fuck her!” Hvitserk clapped Ivar on the shoulders and laughed.
How far ways was this damn airport?  If Ivar didn’t get out of this car soon, he was going to grab the steering wheel and drive them off of a cliff.  “Please don’t leave me with him.”  He never asked his brothers for anything, but he made this plea to Ubbe with such sincerity. “I am going to kill him.”
After Ubbe pulled the car into the parking space, he killed the engine and asked Hvitserk to get the bags while he talked to Ivar for a moment.  “So…you have told her?”  He waited for Ivar to turn around and look at him before he lowered his eyes to Ivar’s legs.  He sighed in disappointment when Ivar refused to meet his eyes.  “Ivar.”
“I never thought we would actually meet.” It was never really his intention to lie, but it really wasn’t a conversation he was sure how to start. Did he start by saying, ‘Hi I’m Ivar. I’m a Taurus and I’m physically challenged?’  “Then I started to like her and could not tell her.  I did not want to stop talking to her.  So, I came off like Bjorn.”
“Like an ass?”
Ivar shrugged.  “A little. She is American.  She likes that confident, arrogant type.”  Shaking his head at the mess he had gotten himself into, he threw his hands up in frustration.  “Ahh, it does not matter now.  We will meet and have fun as friends and that will be all.”
“But that is not all. You like this girl and it sounds like she likes you.  You need to tell her before you see her.”  Gripping his little brother by the back of the neck, Ubbe pulled gave him a brotherly hug.  “You have nothing to be embarrassed about Ivar Ragarsson.  Any woman would be proud to have you.”  Kissing him on the top of his head, he grumbled when Ivar pushed him away and got out of the car.

______
“Unbelievable.”
Reyna scoffed as she headed back to her car, shaking her head at the vast level of tardiness her date was displaying tonight. She couldn’t believe that after willingly putting herself out there, he had the nerve to be late.
As a result of listening to her best friend, Talia, Reyna had put on her best outfit, a crimson colored velvet bodycon dress that was to die for, a pair of dazzling single dangle earrings and single matching bangles on each wrist, and her best heels which were a pair of sleek black stilettos that would have any man or woman eating out the palm of her hand. The twist out was on point, matte lipstick was popping, and her glitter red acrylics still looked fresh as can be.
So imagine the amount of irritation Reyna felt bubbling inside her upon realizing she had been stood up while looking like a full course meal.
After be more than courteous enough to wait forty five minutes past the agreed meeting time, Reyna was now heading back to her car while tapping away furiously on her phone.
‘It’s been almost an hour and he didn’t show sooo guess who’s leaving ’
Reyna began fishing through her black clutch while awaiting Talia’s reply, knowing she was hovering over her phone in expectation of every last detail.
Wifey 🤗💋(2)
‘Excuse me 👀 you said what now??’
‘Do I need to make a trip that way?’
A light but warm chuckle escaped Reyna’s lips in response to the ride or die aura her girlfriend was exuberating. “And yet she loves to claim that I’m the crazy one,” Reyna thought to herself.
‘Pipe down girl, it’s all good lol. If he can’t act right then he can certainly get left’
“And he if think shit sweet next time I see him, he got another thing coming.” This time Reyna had spoken out loud, but despite the rhetorical nature she still received an unexpected response.
“Oh, entle,” a baritone voice cut through the dark. “You don’t really mean that, do you?”
Well, partially unexpected response, at least.
Reyna folded her arms across her chest after stopping halfway down the alley just a few feet short of her car. “You’re late.”
She glared intensely at the man posted up against said vehicle who was dressed in a spotless all black suit, and yet still managed to stand out in contrast to the dark of the night. The first few buttons of the matching onyx dress shirt he donned underneath had been left unfastened, leaving the fabric to hang open exposing his defined pecs ever so slightly. There was a red pocket square in the front of his jacket, and as if to accent the accessory, he held in his hand a single red rose, inhaling its scent right before his eyes cut to his other half.
“Forgive me, my love,” her boyfriend apologized. “I’m afraid I let time get away from me while I was...tying up some loose ends.” He pushed off the Lamborghini to approach Reyna, but for the two steps he took to be in arm’s length of her, she took a step back.
“Uh-uh, T’Challa. Using your ‘voodoo magic’ is not going to get you off the hook for this so don’t even try it,” Reyna reprimanded him. “What ‘loose ends’ were so important that you had to keep me waiting for nearly an hour, on tonight of all nights? It’s not like we have all the time in the world!”
Since the night Reyna had accidentally ended up in the wrong Halloween party to say the least, T’Challa turned rescuing her from a group of savage gargoyles into a tradition of treating Reyna to a night out on the supernatural side of town. In the past four years since that fateful encounter, it was fair to say that the two had fallen for each other, regardless of the vampire/mortal dynamic that frequently posed as a challenge for them. But, nevertheless, Reyna adored her other-worldly beau and accepted him wholeheartedly, fangs and all. If anything, the true nature of his origins fascinated her.
Which is why T’Challa had finally decided on what to grant his lover with as a reward for finishing up graduate school. And what better gift was there than making Reyna a part of his world rather than just a frequent visitor?
“Well, usana, not that I need use of my powers to get you to forgive me, which you and I both know,” T’Challa stated. He quickly stepped in closer perimeter of Reyna before she had the chance to retreat any further, placing the lone flower in her hand.
“But I suppose you have waited long enough for your surprise,” he went on, a devious smirk playing at his lips. In the mere seconds that Reyna had become distracted by the gorgeous creature’s charisma, he had circled around his girlfriend like a vulture as she closed her eyes to sniff the rose.
Burying his face in the crook near Reyna’s collarbone, and running his hands along her amber skin until they were wrapped snugly around her waist, T’Challa spoke seductively into her ear, “Time to get a taste of what we’ve been missing out on.”
And with that, before Reyna even had an opportunity to utter a syllable in protest, T’Challa bore his pearly white fangs, and bit directly down into the right side of her neck.
*******
Whatever pain had hit the new grad student from the chomp in her flesh went away as quickly as it came. The second Reyna felt the teeth sink into her vein she could have guessed correctly what was happening, but of course there was no time to fully analyze the possibility. Because the moment her eyes had snapped open just as fast as they’d clamped shut, Reyna found herself standing in the VIP section of the same forbidden nightclub she’d stumbled into over four years ago.
Perched on the overlook she could see the entire dance floor below packed and lively beneath her feet with every fictional creature one could think of when it came to spooky season. Their forms collided together rhythmically in time with the music blaring through the speakers, while the colored strobe lights flashes different hues of red and purple creating endless shadows against the walls.
Moving closer to the railing, Reyna noticed that her body felt different; that it felt...strange. A good kind of strange. Her chocolate color orbs now glowed the same shade of scarlet as her dress, and all her senses seemed to amplified ten times over, including her ability to easily detect a lingering presence hanging over her shoulder.
“Enticing, isn’t it?” T’Challa asked from behind her. “You see, since the minute we met I detected there was something special about you, however I failed in putting my finger on it right away. Still I longed to know more of you anyway, despite it going against my conventional practices.” He drifted to Reyna’s side, continuing with his thoughts while watching over his subjects along with her.
“But with the passage of time, I was able to uncover at last what it was that inevitably drew me to you.” The demon turned to Reyna, cupping her chin in his grasp to direct all her attention to him.
“It was your passion, Reyna,” T’Challa confessed while staring into her newly colored irises. “Your captivation with the unknown, the way you’re enthralled by mystery; it was in your eyes the first night we met. Instead of turning away from me in fear, you allowed your fascination to learn more about my world guide you. I knew then, that I could trust you to be mine.”
The two were now inches apart, giving the demon leeway to close the gap by pressing his lips to hers. Reyna melted into the kiss, finding herself more attracted to her boyfriend as ever due to his observation of her. She moaned lightly into his mouth, only to let out a slight whimper when he broke away.
“Now done with school, you have no more immediate obligations holding you to the mortal world permanently, but if you still choose to walk away, then I possess a potion that will reverse the bite I gave you if consumed before sunrise,” T’Challa muttered, stroking her cheek with his thumb.
“But, neglect to take it by then, and your days as a mortal will be over.”
The vampire began backtracking slowly to the center seat that served as his throne until seated back upon it with one foot placed across the opposing knee.
“So, what do you say, my love?” His eyes blinked closed briefly, glowing blood red when they opened again as he made his final offer. “Will you join my world? Lead along with me as my equal in ruling over these heathens?”
Reyna stood and thought for a moment, remembering that she owed her good friend details about how the ‘anniversary dinner’ had went once it was finished. Knowing she would get a kick out of spinning this one, she could barely contain the smile spreading across her face.
“Darling,” Reyna started, running her tongue across her freshly obtained fangs while stalking over to her soulmate seductively. “It would be an absolute honor to call you my king.”
But that conversation would have to wait until later, because right now, Reyna was about to become Queen of the Underworld.

RESTORED! REJUVENATED! REBORN! By the end of the 1960s the boom in Old World gothic horror had begun to wane in the face of present day terrors like the Vietnam war. In response, American filmmakers brought horror out of the past and into the present, and the classic movie monsters packed their bags and headed for the New World. Count Yorga, Vampire was among the first to successfully transpose the classic vampire, cloak and all, to a modern day setting as the Count - played unforgettably by Robert Quarry - arrives in the United States and settles in a Southern California mansion with his mysterious "brides". A drive-in favourite from the moment it was released, a sequel soon followed. The Return of Count Yorga ups the ante and sees the sardonic Count on the streets of San Francisco, his sights set on an orphanage as a potential source of sustenance. Director Bob Kelljan (Scream Blacula Scream) delivers a one-two punch of classic cult cinema mixing chills, thrills, style, and suspense with a knowing wit that revels in the genre trappings. Presented in all new restorations by Arrow Films from new scans of the original camera negative, The Count Yorga Collection is a full blooded feast to die for!

KNOCK KNOCK, LET THE DEVIL IN.
Nah man like seriously what the actual fuck.
It was Friday, August 31st. A nice day to start Anime Festival Asia in Indonesia, I was already happy thinking what to buy to make myself broke at the convention, then aS SOON AS I FUCKING ARRIVED AT THE CONVENTION, SHIT BROKE IG AND TWITTER: EMINEM NEW ALBUM “KAMIKAZE”.
At first I shrugged and laughed thinking it was a troll/just an album announcement bUT AY TURNS OUT THAT SHIT LITERALLY DROPPED JUST WHEN I GOT MY MONEY FOR AFA & NOW BY THE TIME OF THIS WRITING I STILL DON’T KNOW HOW TO SAVE UP MONEY TO BUY KAMIKAZE MERCH, LIKE I SWEAR FUCK THIS SHIT SLIM, I FUCKING HATE YOU SMH.
Tbh I don’t expect much when I saw the Venom teaser for the movie, I thought he was just going to have a song for the movie soundtrack/at best, a soundtrack album by him just like how Kendrick did with Black Panther, but ay this looks promising.
Aside of me being salty, this album’s apparently executive produced by Dr. Dre and “Slim Shady”, like literally Marshall is fucking credited as Slim Shady, this shit sounds like a classic already- HE EVEN PUT BACK THE PAUL SKITS AGAIN YO DAMN.
Features are actually fresh as fuck tho, like Joyner Lucas? Nickle Nine? Goddamn man. First look at the tracklists & I can feel the fire already.
Aight then with that all being said, new EM album, Kamikaze, let’s go (I’m still salty to not have money to buy the merch).
01. The Ringer - SHIT BRO I CANNOT. WAIT A MINUTE *takes a fucking hour to get ready*
Okay so uh, wow. Illadaproducer. You fire bro. AND RONNY J? OMYGOD MAN.
First song and he’s shNAPPING ALREADY LIKE DAMN BRO. Okayokayokay let me slow myself here. Because he literally snapped on everybody who criticized him on The Storm freestyle & Revival, should I like write of a list of it?
>Vince Staples >Joe Budden >Lil Yachty (It’s not a diss tho, he just called him out) >Lil Pump >Lil Xan >Iggy Azalea >MGK >NF >Journalists >Donald Trump >Charmalagne tha God >Pretty much the whole current state of Hip-Hop
One song going and it’s fire already, why the fuck should we hit Em’s nerve for him to make a fire album like this though? That’s a big problem.
I like how he interpolates Young M.A. here, matter of fact everything he interpolates sounds better than the original lol excuse me for being biased smh. AND THAT EVIL SPELL LINE, GOT ME SO GOOD.
Overall a fire intro. Personal favorite already. I felt perfect when Em shouted out his favorite new-wave rappers, makes me feel like I listen to the right side of Hip-Hop lol.
02. Greatest - REVIVAL DIDN’T GO VIRAL
As much as I like some aspects of Revival, it’s still an ass album overall, so sorry I gotta say that man but that’s like, Jesus man it’s the fucking lowest.
AY MIKE WILL WASSUP BRO THIS SHIT BUMPS BROOO, better than the whole SR3MM album tbh smh. And the hook yooo, I really wokeuplikethis when I heard the fucking hook. Definitely one of the best hooks of 2018 lmao don’t @ me.
He still continues the theme of clapping back at people who clapped back at him & he’s not being boring on it which is very unusual, because y'know how it feels like when people wrote the same shit on different songs right? That shit gets repetitive & boring, but not this one.
And again, his interpolations are fucking top notch man, I can’t praise it enough for being too fucking great.
And that 2nd verse? God. Another personal favorite.
03. Lucky You (feat. Joyner Lucas) - I’m lucky to be alive after listening to these 3 fire straight.
Dude.
Whatthefuck.
This is godly bro.
Joyner came in with that fire verse, then Em ended the song with next level heat. That’s the whole gist of it tbh.
BOI-1DA CAME WITH THE HEAT. SHIT’S AMAZING BRO, I CAN STILL HEAR THAT NC-17 HERE, ILLA YOU FIRE TOO MAN WTFFF.
I like how they started their parts with different perspective of their respective careers, with Joyner not having the accolades he was supposed to get and Em with the awards that he ironically don’t need.
Joyner man, he came in with rapid fire yo & he fucking interpolates Denzel’s SUMO | ZUMO amazingly & fittingly. And Em back again snapping on the current state of Hip-Hop FOR THE 3RD TIME IN THE ALBUM & HE’S YET TO BORE ME WITH THE SAME TOPIC. And that “Record Breaker/Broken Record” line is slick as hell yo, plus how he interpolates (again) DNA. here is just amazing but somehow expected. Plus that ghostwriter line probably struck a nerve somewhere in the 6ix lol.
3 tracks in with pretty much the same topics, yet I didn’t get bored of it yet. The first 3 tracks & and those hits the personal favorites list already. This is probably a classic already.
04. Paul (Skit) - The very core question of Eminem’s career by this point tbh. Is he going just to put out shit albums and snap back the next year with a fire album? Is he going to repeat the same shit all over? So far the first 3 tracks don’t bore me but I feel like he’s trying a lil too hard on it? At least he didn’t sound bitter on this album so far.
05. Normal - It’s not an Eminem album if there’s no at least one misogynystic song isn’t it.
At first I wasn’t feeling it until the beat switches I was like, “Damn bro, Em can actually sound melodic like the mumble rappers too, damn.”
But I got the message of the song tho, it’s surprising that Em is still wishing for a normal relationship with women (Maybe he could had one if he didn’t went full misogynystic but eh).
Milo verse is funny tho, not anything special but it’s just funny. Not hilarious either but it’s just… Funny.
06. Em Calls Paul (Skit) - Basically a response about Em saying that he’s not trying to make an album just to clap back at people who criticized the album badly, thank goodness because I hope that shit doesn’t happen to him (I still don’t like the timing of this surprise album tho, still salty over the fact I can’t buy the merch yet).
Rumors believe that he was referring to Shawn Cee on the skit, but I don’t think it’s about him tho because Em said he read about some Yahoo-motherfucker who wrote about Revival and criticized about how bad Em did the album (Which I think to be true).
Now, Shawn Cee is a YouTuber famous for his Hip-Hop reaction/review videos. Eminem clearly said that he read about someone writing about Revival, not watched about someone reviewing Revival. So I guess Shawn Cee is in a safe position in his career lol. RIP to that Yahoo-motherfucker tho.
07. Stepping Stone - THIS HERE, THIS ACTUALLY BROKE MY HEART
It’s sad to hear that D12 is officially dead & to hear it from the group most popular member makes it even worse.
I like how to hook goes in & the bridge is just amazing to hear. I’m happy that he decides to break the silence about D12, it’s a plus point too for this album because I don’t want him to always talk about how bad Revival is tbh lol.
A great song to refresh yourself from this album’s main topic.
08. Not Alike (feat. Royce da 5'9") - THAT LOOK ALIVE SAMPLE THOOO. TAY KEITH FUCK THESE DUDES UP.
I don’t know why but I enjoy Eminem doing the Migos flow, it just makes him sounds funnier to me, the hook says all: Em is nothing alike to these mumble rappers, just like how what he says have nothing in common.
Royce went great here, but I feel like before his verse ends he sounds a lil rushed, or is it just me? Great feature nevertheless.
THEN EMINEM BACK AGAIN WITH THE MGK DISS & WHEN THAT BEAT SWITCHED TO THAT RONNY J FIRE? GODFUCKINGDAMN BRO.
Did Em just started his verse with the Ay flow? Because it feels refreshing when Em doesn’t go too fast on his raps & being more laid-back with it.
The flow showdown here man, it’s just unlikely people will hate on this one, I mean hey, GOAT with Tay Keith & Ronny J who doesn’t want that?
Definitely another personal favorite.
09. Kamikaze - Title song of the album, I gotta stop listening when I heard the word “Fack” said here lmao, the whole first part of the song is hilarious too, I mean that beat whatthefuck man, corny as shit lmao.
But hey as hilarious as it gets it’s still worth noting that this song sums up the whole point of the album, it’s basically him snapping back to haters & mumble rap by dropping a surprise album just for the fuck of it (Fuck it tho I’m still salty off the merch)
When the beat switched tho, that shit went sinister like straight up, WHY CAN’T HE JUST DO THE WHOLE SONG WITH THAT BEAT? JESUS FUCKING CHRIST EM SMH.
And that outro bro, was that a diss at Drake? Those ghostwriters line still got me great man.
10. Fall - Featuring uncredited vocals by Justin Vernon for the hook, here Em talks about… WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT MAN THE ALBUMS BASICALLY A BUNCH OF DISS TRACKS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVEN’T HAD ENOUGH OF HIM SMH, Mike WiLL fucking made a banger tho.
I felt bad for Tyler after hearing him got dissed badly with the other F-word, RIP Tyler & Earl too.
Budden, DJ Akademiks, Charmalagne & Lord Jamar got fucked up pretty badly here too, I mean I think this is the first time Em proved his point right & stayed relevant to the era he’s in. I mean he’s doing it in Trap beats so that explains a thing. (Listen to Lucky You for reference)
Verse 3 > Legacy in MMLP2.
11. Nice Guy (feat. Jessie Reyez) - NOW THIS, THIS IS PROBABLY THE FIRST EMINEM SONG FOR THEM CONCERT MOSHPITS.
THAT DROP IS JUST SO FIRE, & JESSIE, GODDAMN BRO.
I like the fact that the songs is less than 3 minutes just like how songs are nowadays. The bars are nothing serious tbh bUT THAT ENERGY BRO, IF THIS SHIT EVER GETS PERFORMED ON AN EMINEM CONCERT, I’LL DEFINITELY JOIN THE MOSHPIT.
Another personal favorite. And yea it’s a favorite personal because even tho the bars aren’t really nothing, I can still relate on how dudes just wanted to be nice for their woman out there.
Hook-post hook = definite anthem.
12. Good Guy (feat. Jessie Reyez) - BRO EMINEM ON A KINGDOM HEARTS SAMPLE BRO THANK YOU ILLA YOU DA GOAT.
I feel like this song & the song before is like a mini sequel to the long-ass Bad Guy song back in MMLP2, this song especially is just a continuation of Nice Guy, so nothing special tbh, lacks the same energy from Nice Guy tho.
The Kingdom Hearts sample fucking saved the song.
13. Venom (Music from the Motion Picture) - Now this shit, was the shit that made me believe that Em is actually going to produce the whole Venom soundtrack. This shit went off great, KNOCK KNOCK, LET THE DEVIL IN.
I LOVE HOW HE STARTED EVERY VERSE WITH THAT SENTENCE, REAL SLIM SHADY VIBES IN THIS SONG. AND THAT HOOK, UGH FUCK BRO SHIT.
How Eminem stated that we the fans are Eddie Brock & him being the Venom Symbiote is just very fucking symbolic, because as bad as he gets you know that he’ll still stick to us like how Venom sticks to Eddie.
THe very perfect outro for the album, a definite personal favorite because of the “Knock knock” line & the hook.
Overall album score: 9/10
A very great album which basically consists mainly about responses to haters, but somehow ends up being a breathe of fresh air of an Eminem record for the past 8 years.
Great team of producers (Illa you da MVP bro), great features, Eminem on his prime, executive produced by Dre & Shady, the return of Paul skits, no comment needed, definitely a classic already.
The only question I have in mind is that; should it really be like this for Eminem to put out a classic album? Should a big sack of hating in mass media on a shit album he put out previously fuel the urge for him to make one of the best records of him to this date? I don’t think so.
Personal favorites: The Ringer, Greatest, Lucky You (feat. Joyner Lucas), Not Alike (feat. Royce da 5'9"), Nice Guy (feat. Jessie Reyez), Venom (Music from the Motion Picture).
I’M STILL SALTY OVER THE FACT THAT I CAN’T BUY MERCH BECAUSE OF THE UNFORTUNATE SURPRISE TIMING. FUCK YOU EM.
Kamikaze > Eminem albums from 2010-2017
He actually did a serious damage because of his Kamikaze wtf he actually didn’t flopped, great.
You should’ve seen the memes for this album bro, shit’s wild.
Again, Eminem if you’re reading this, I love you for putting such a classic album in this era, bUT FUCK YOU FOR RELEASING IT THE EXACT SAME DAY OF ME BEING BROKE. Sincerely, a Stan.

Benzino Threatens Joyner Lucas, Gets Into War Of Words With Royce Da 5’9
Source: Prince Williams / Getty
In a VERZUZ battle that nobody asked for, Benzino reportedly called out both Joyner Lucas and Royce da 5’9 for reasons we’re not even able to discern on our best days. As it stands, the Boston veteran didn’t get the exact response he wanted and now it’s gotten ugly to the point of threats and low-blow insults.
The war of words came to our attention late but from what we’ve been able to follow via social media, Benzino caught a shot from Nickel Nine via Instagram which featured a screencap of a tweet of the initial call out.
From Royce’s IG:
Y’all owe me for these laughs. I want my flowers for these hysterical outbursts during these trying times…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This muf*ka dun challenged me to a Verzuz battle…
Tumblr media
He prefaced this with “My Catalogue”
Tumblr media
Shut the noise… I better get outta town … Im not worthy…
Tumblr media
Challenge not accepted but big props to I see booty I see Booty. Don’t think we even got a venue that could facilitate that massive holy bible of art. Gave me Lennon vibes… Seeing you perform that sh*t live with the Roots is like top 3 bucket list for me… For real For real..
Lucas added via a reply to the IG that Benzino invited him to a battle via DM.
“Man dis clown tried to inbox me a few months ago tryna VERZUS battle me too,” Lucas wrote, which prompted Benzino to fire off a flurry of angry and threatening tweets.
“@joynerlucas you ain’t never step foot in Roxbury u b*tch ass n*gga. U from Worcester mass you punk mf, u never was bout that life. Don’t let them p*ssies get u hurt. Yea I went in your dms because your musics trash like @royceda59 U got me f*cked up I’ll have u touched f*ckboi,” read one such tweet.
Royce da 5’9 may have gotten the last laugh but, unfortunately, at the expense of Benzino’s adult daughter, singer Coi Leray.
I’m gon take your daughter to the park and let her ride the swings if you don’t quit spending your whole day being a twitter goon. She pussy popping on a handstand on IG. Now go hug her and tell her she’s beautiful before Drake or Trey Songz does

A song made considering the classical Three-Act Structure.
youtube
Yes, I have already written about Eminem on the second week of the semester. On one hand, I do not want to be repetitive but on the other, I also feel like I cannot give this man enough praise for the cinematic quality that he introduced to the Hip Hop world. This right here is a song by Eminem called Stan. For many, this song is Eminem’s best song yet. For some, this song is the best rap song yet. Although I am not sure if I can give an objective opinion on this matter, I can safely say that Stan is definetely Eminem’s most valuable gem and there are reasons behind this claim.  Hip Hop always had some cinematic taste in it. How can a genre based on storytelling cannot be? While Eminem was not the first storyteller ever in the game, no one can argue about how he redefined the genre and inspired millions of people around the world with his incredible lyrical skills. Stan  particularly stands out in this case since it was something which was never done before in it’s time. It feels like a short film. This, obviously is not achieved only by the music video (which also stands out because of it’s filmic and cinematic structure unlike the other music videos). Eminem’s lyrics and the way he wrote them which makes you feel like he is telling you one of his memories face to face is astonishing. First three verses are told through Stan’s perspective and the last verse is told through Eminem’s own perspective. In fact, this song can be viewed under the renowned Three-Act Structure that we are familiar from movies. Act I (The Setup)
We directly are introduced to our protagonist, Stan, and his life. First verse of the song serves the purpose of creating a setup and we get to see Stan’s admiration for Eminem since he starts to write a really passionate fan letter to him. The act ends right after the verse ends and Stan sends his letter. Act II (The Confrontation) Just like the first act, the second one also begins as soon as the second verse begins. Stakes are getting higher and the action is rising since Stan could not get a reply to his letter which made him upset and angry. He writes a second letter out of his anger but we also get to find out that Stan is actually obsessed with his idol, Eminem. He confronts him. Act III (The Resolution)
Stan has reached his climax since he also did not recieve a response to his second letter as well. Now, he has gone crazy and he kidnapped his own wife who is pregnant and he put her inside his car’s trunk. He is drunk and this time, he is not writing a letter but instead he is recording the things that he says on a tape. He talks about how such a mistake Eminem made by not replying to him and ultimately became the guilty one causing Stan to decide to kill himself, his girlfriend and soon to be born child. He is driving on the driveway and he is speeding. The weather is incredibly rainy. Closer to the end, he reaches his destination, the bridge, and he suddenly turns the steering wheel which causes them to fly over the fences and dive straight into the lake. He kills his pregnant girlfriend with himself just because he could not reach to Eminem. Medical team and the news crew arrive to the scene and the divers manage to find both their bodies and Stan’s tape that he recorded on while driving. Stan’s story ends there.  Eminem’s Response
Eminem responds a couple weeks after the incident. All three of the acts concluded and Stan’s story ended. He tells Stan that he is sorry for responding late but he also adds that there was a problem with the post office which caused him to get his fan letters quite late. At this point, we learn that Eminem was not actually selfish like Stan thought, he just did not get his lettters in time. Sadly, Stan never finds out. Eminem continues to write his response by adding that he is kind of worried of Stan’s mental health since Stan wrote him really dark and worrying stuff such as how he cut his own wrists just to feel pain or how Eminem and him were meant to be together. Eminem tells him that he needs to get therapy considering that he will become a father soon. Right before he ends writing his response letter to Stan, he starts to talk about some news that he saw on TV couple weeks ago about a guy who kidnapped his own wife and drove over a bridge. As soon as he adds that that the guy’s name was also Stan, he ties everything together and realizes that Stan is the same Stan who he is responding to. The video ends.
In conclusion, this track by Eminem reserved it’s spot on the classical rap songs forever. The cinematic quality and never seen before storytelling abilities through rap blew everyone’s minds. Eminem ended up being considered as one of the greatests to ever do it just with his second album, Marshall Mathers LP which is the album that Stan is in, and he changed the rap game forever. His take on storytelling opened new doors for the Hip Hop world and he inspired upcoming lyrical rappers such as Kendrick Lamar, J.Cole and Joyner Lucas with his skills. Today, we are fortunate enough to hear similar works from him although it has been 18 years since he relased this song. He is still a lyrical monster and storyteller.
Fun Fact: Today, “stan” is an official word which literally refers to  "an extremely or excessively enthusiastic and devoted fan.".

Nick Cannon Thinks He Took Down Eminem: "This Has Been Fun"
Tumblr media
Nick Cannon thinks he won against Eminem. Considering the fact that Nick Cannon still hasn't earned a response from Eminem in regards to his two consecutive diss tracks, he may very well be the winner in this new iteration of their feud. However, there's a chance that Marshall Mathers is sharpening his lyrical knives in the studio, getting ready to end Nick Cannon's career in the coming weeks. After he let loose some disrespectful bars on Fat Joe's "Lord Above," Em was the target of two attacks from The Black Squad and their leader Nick Cannon. Several days have passed and we haven't heard anything from the Detroit legend other than a humorous response to the disses over Twitter. Now, Cannon is comfortable declaring himself the winner in this feud, addressing Em on social media and backing out with his head still held high.
Tumblr media
Perhaps he was scared of Joyner Lucas' threats to bring out Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, Royce Da 5'9", and other hard-hitting rappers or perhaps he just grew tired of the waiting game but Nick Cannon appears to be bowing out of his feud against Eminem. He took to Twitter to name himself the victor in their battle, adding a few words. "@Eminem I won!!!!" declared the comedian. "This has been fun now back to your regularly scheduled programs." Charlamagne Tha God also believes that Nick Cannon came out on top of this feud. Do you agree that Nick Cannon came with more ammunition? https://twitter.com/NickCannon/status/1205132430715305987?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1205132430715305987&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.hotnewhiphop.com%2Fnick-cannon-thinks-he-took-down-eminem-this-has-been-fun-news.98204.html Read the full article

If "Control" Dropped In 2020, Who Would Get Challenged?
The mad carnival that is Big Sean, Kendrick Lamar and Jay Electronica’s “Control” continues to have ramifications to this day. Or maybe it doesn’t. Who really knows. Can we fairly attribute Kendrick’s notorious call-out, easily the song’s most iconic moment, as the fire that sparked beneath the collective asses of eleven honored emcees? And thus, is it fair to attribute their respective bodies of work, many of which are considered if not classic, damn fine efforts, to be a direct response to that fateful challenge?
Consider those who caught Kendrick’s eye that day. J. Cole. Wale. Krit. Tyler. Mac Miller. Drake. Jay Electronica. Sean. Meek. Rocky. Pusha T. Circa 2013, those eleven emcees served as the elite voices of an era. The ones that, by Kendrick’s own estimation, were both inspiring to his creativity and threatening to his reign. Rather than smothering them in the crib, he issued a warning and allowed them room to prepare a return volley. And prepare they did. Cole’s next album was 2014 Forest Hills Drive. Mac Miller’s was Faces. Jay Electronica came through with...Rocky had At. Long. Last. ASAP. Drake’s pulled a stylistic about-face and channeled his inner miscreant on Nothing Was The Same. Appropriately, following Kendrick’s verse, nothing really was the same.
Can one verse really have so much power it alters the career trajectory of a fully grown man? Kendrick’s DAMN. proved his understanding of pride as a concept, a powerful if ultimately sinful motivator. It stands to reason that his own pride drove him to write the verse in the first place. Coming off the release of Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, critics and fans alike were singing his praises; with one major-label debut under his belt, many were already touting him as the best rapper alive. The only reason the “Control” name dropping had such an impact is the fact it came from Kendrick Lamar in the first place. For one, it dulled the sting of the blow, the most painful sting reserved for those who went unnamed. Second, it established him as a competitor, one who still enjoyed the pure sportsmanship of a streetside cipher. A quality that feels by and large absent from modern-day hip-hop, save for a few signs of life.
Christopher Polk/Getty Images
That’s not a slight on today’s musical climate by any means. But muse on this -- could a verse akin to Kendrick’s “Control” have the same effect if delivered in 2020? Specifically, a verse that mirrored the same process of name-dropping eleven elite emcees and challenging them to a duel for dominance. If so, two questions arise: who would deliver the verse, and more importantly, who would make up the eleven?
Unfortunately, it’s hard to imagine somebody dropping a “Control” style verse without coming off as a fiend for the clout. Shades were teased during Tory Lanez’s spirited verbal tilt with Joyner Lucas; perhaps, for the sake of this what-if, our challenge might come from one of them -- though neither party having a Good Kid under their belt might serve to lessen the blow. J. Cole has previously teased that “nobody likes rapping with him” anymore, following a particularly elite spree of feature verses -- might that confidence not be better suited as arrogance? He’d certainly turn heads if he chose to take such a road, but given his newfound position as Dreamville’s unofficial father-figure, it’s unlikely. In truth, I’m not concerned with who does the name-dropping, but rather which names are dropped. It’s 2020, and everyone listed in “Control” has ascended into O.G. status. Provided those named actually took up the challenge (in lieu of penning responses on social media) think of all the glorious music us fans would receive. Receive from... receive from….
Denzel Curry. He’d get named for sure. The Carol City artist has proven himself to be one of the game’s most confident lyricists. Not only can he bring high volumes of intensity to the mix, but he’s supremely talented when it comes to penning verses. Songs like “Speedboat” and “Sirens” reveal the depth of his cleverness, and the Flordia-centric Zuu prove he’s creative enough to explore more thematic bodies of work. Whoever would dare put the game on watch would be wise to bring Curry into the fold. If only to boost their own credibility by way of real recognize real. On that note, it feels appropriate to throw New York’s own, and Denzel’s former sparring partner, Joey Bada$$, into the mix. Strictly on the basis of lyricism, few can match the Badmon’s intensity; having spoken of competitive ciphers, who better to rep that energy than the man who helped revive Big Tigger’s Tha Basement, if only for one day.

Curiously enough, when older rappers reflect on their favorite “younger” artists, there are two names that come up with more frequency: Gunna and Lil Baby. Having earned co-signs from the likes of Nas and Westside Gunn, the melodic stylings of the Drip Harder duo have earned them the right to be deemed elite in today’s climate. Omitting them from a “Control” redux would feel particularly biased, and arguably salty given the impact they both continue to have. Speaking of the Baby moniker, DaBaby would be an easy contender. At once lyrical, charismatic, and competitive, DaBaby would likely benefit from having a fire lit under him, especially if it allowed his early-millennium influences to emerge. Newly-minted number-one spot holder Roddy Ricch, still benefiting from the house that eee-err built, feels destined for greatness. Perhaps it would be wise to name-drop him, if only to keep the young Compton star on his toes. As some of the game's best current straight-up lyricists, the Griselda trifecta would have to be challenged -- especially given the sweet three-for-one value.
Would it be realistic to challenge Lil Uzi Vert? I suppose he’d be the stand-in for Jay Electronica in this context, elusive bastard that he is. When he does eventually drop, it’s entirely possible that Eternal Atake ushers in a whole plethora of new styles, making him one of the game’s chief influencers. It only makes sense to pay respects accordingly. On that note, it’s tempting to namedrop Playboi Carti in the same breath, though it’s unlikely he’d be moved by his own inclusion to begin with. Still...it would almost be worth it if only for the inevitable uproar it would cause. Likewise for more established artists like Future, Young Thug, or the Migos, who would likely balk at the prospect of healthy competition at this juncture of their career. Cardi B might have been an interesting contender, were the full extent of her pen game ever revealed. Still, her presence on a beat cannot be denied and sleeping on her popularity would be unwise. Megan Thee Stallion is another contender for inclusion, cutting a domineering cloth and capable of trading bars with every collaborator she’s liked with thus far. And bar for bar, it's unwise to count out Young M.A, who recently killed it on her first collaboration with Eminem.
In actuality, all of the eleven Kendrick originally named shared one defining attribute. All of them were lyrically proficient. A hypothesis might then suggest that Kendrick draws inspiration from strong lyricists, as would anyone penning a fictitious successor to “Control.” As some of the game’s best writers, it’s likely that Mick Jenkins, Rapsody, YBN Cordae,  Maxo Kream, and J.I.D would be positioned within the crosshairs. Hell, J.I.D. might be one of the only current rappers capable of penning a verse of “Control’s” game-changing pedigree to begin with. Consider how he was absolutely salivating at the prospect of trading competitive bars with Tory Lanez, only for those dreams to be swiftly quashed without so much as a punchline. Mick himself almost inadvertently set it off on 2018 single “Bruce Banner,” rapping “can’t nobody come for me except Kendrick, and I hope you’re offended.” If he were to commit a little bit further to the dubious art of provocation, who knows what matter of beast he might have unleashed. On the opposite end of the beast spectrum, loveable everyman Boogie might be worth a mention, though he’s a little too relaxed to muster up a convincing retort; when it comes to artistic vision, however, he’s arguably among the game’s most focused album sequencers. As for Vince Staples, he’d likely write off the whole process as corny -- honored though he may be on the inside.
