Meet my Darlibg Son ✨Squash✨
This wonderful lil man is a sculpt I picked up at this years past Resin Rose BJD Expo. Sculpted by the lovely Logan of “Logan Dolls”. Sculpt name is “Jack-O-Leery.
✨Squash✨ has been an absolute joy bringing to life from the moment I purchased him. I believe he’s suppose to have been on a MSD (45cm-ish) body, the proportions definitely lend themselves. I popped this head on a Unoa boy body while at the con and almost had to tear myself away from the look. It was so gooooood! LOOKIT!
Ugh! So good right? The moment he fell into my world I just knew he HAD to be named ✨Squash✨ it just stuck. . .
I originally felt this style would stick as well… until I got home and plopped the head on a blind box BJD body by the name of ”Dividing Lines”. I was planning on selling this particular doll as I wasn’t bonding with them as hard as another of the same make. The sell didn’t happen because after this boy sat on it I WAS SOLD! 😂🥰❤️
Something about him being this short really fits the energy he embodies for me. I had old hands leftover from selling a “Summer Bird BJD Viola” a while back, this doll would also be of the MSD size so the hands aren’t exactly proportional for this smaller body. PERFECT! 🤩 I full on yelped from how excited and pleasing this was and the fact the hands don’t match the body is exactly the kind of mix matched ideal a doll named ✨Squash✨ would need.
After sorting his body, I took a random Sunday afternoon and gave him this fun, also mix matched, faceup. My intention here was to make him warm feeling, cozy. I also wanted him to be a doll I could have fun with, even if he sustains scratches later in life he’ll still be himself. Pumpkins have imperfections all the time so painting him felt so freeing. The possibilities are so endless, in a few years he might not even look like this and this makes me feel like he could grow with me 🥰❤️
The photo ideas I have for fall is just so endless, he looks so good even as just a head so I’m tempted to take him pumpkin picking and plopping him down with his brethren and taking a million pics 😂❤️

Thank you so much @joshybearhuggies for the FUN crochet tutorial for your ✨Comfi Cardi✨. It was so relaxing to make and your vid was lovely, I watched it twice while working just for the joy of it. Every step was easy with the visuals and description.
So! I used Lion Brand Ice Cream 3 weight and a 2.75 hook exactly like the tutorial and it fits perfectly on my Limhwa girl (1/3 BJD size). The edging is a thrifted thread so I'm not sure the size of that.
When it came time to decorate, I thought it looked so Kidcore that I had to put some kind of a collar on it. I used the exact technique from the cuff and hem, but started with a 10 chain and then slip stitched the ends of each row into its own half double crochet on the cardi edge (instead of slip stitching two together). I slip stitched into the loop on the right side of the garment only. I started the collar at about the bottom edge of the fourth row of granny clusters.
It turned out so cheerful and I'm thrilled to have a piece like this! Thank you again Joshy!!!! ♥️

So I don't know about you all, but crafting is one of the few things tethering me to reality and preventing me from rushing screaming into the Void in these strange dystopian times. After finishing the main bits of Io's outfit I decided I wanted to try some doll crochet in something other than fashion doll scale, so my next project is making clothing for my Naturally Perfect dolls, as I've never been happy with their stock outfits. I'm thinking skirts, cardigans, maybe some accessories, but I don't want to get too far ahead of myself. I'll be using my regular modified skirt pattern and the cardigan tutorial @joshybearhuggies recently posted to youtube (will link below). Hopefully it all turns out cute! My sanity may depend on it.

Had this idea last night to make her some kind of bubble wig. I absolutely love the wigs the @popovysisters make for their dolls and it was partly inspired by those but also by @joshybearhuggies who puts pom-poms on just about everything. So I’ve done a pastel punk type wig and Giger and I love it but I’m not sure if anyone else will? 🤔 😬 #bjd#bjds#bjdstagram #bjdsofinstagram #marmitesueorchid #androiddoll#pastelpunk#punkhair#pastelandroid#walloyamorring (at Perry Barr, Birmingham, United Kingdom) https://www.instagram.com/p/BzLVsk-prEP/?igshid=fo2ukdllv27a

Okay so apparently joshybearhuggies who I sold my recast to sold it again to an idiot who refuses to believe its the same doll despite all the evidence I provided and now what I fear is that person may resell them again as a legit even though he's a recast!!
I honestly don't know what to do at this point. I showed them the sale thread, the faceup he had that I made and was still on the doll when I sold it and they would rather still believe that the guy silently replaced a doll he didn't end up liking with a legit just to sell it off???? And that the doll has issues I pointed out, no COA, no plate on the headcap, and still they don't believe me.
I need to keep an eye out for him now incase he gets sold again, I would probably end up buying him back or alerting the buyer of what has happened :|

Random AF but I feel like this new version of Venus is 10000% Black Girl coded.
I purchased her a little bit ago because I couldn’t very well leave her at my local Walmart. Her stock was so cute and I just needed to get my hands all in her hair.
After releasing her from her box I got this overwhelming since of pure joy! And representation in a way. While not being a women I am black and I just feel like black girl magic has been poured into this doll. It’s great. I’m intrigued, it’s truly mind blowing how they’ve designed the doll to invoke these feelings while also still having her be this adorable green color. I’m just so in love.
Of course after the few hours of initial play and redressing I decided I will claim another! For those of you not familiar with me… I do this. I need doubles sometimes because I also want to repaint while also having some small attachment to the doll’s original screening. Doesn’t happen always… but enough to note that it’s a real characteristic of my collecting habits.
In any case, I’m a fan. The G3 reboot of the iconic brand is definitely grabbing my attention. I haven’t even mentioned just how much I ADORE Draculaura 😂🥰 I think her new look is just TOO cute. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
What do you guys think? Do you see the Black Girl Magic vibes or am I just imprinting? Either way, I’m so charmed 😋
Also, this is another set of photos shared on my IG (Joshybearhuggies) that I’ve been thinking about allot and definitely had more to say about than I let on on IG 😅

Comfi Cardi in Red Heart Unforgettable yarn! Which, I had the misfortune of learning the hard way, can't be frogged. I mean it can, and I did, but wow it sucked and I had to tediously unpick every damned stitch from a web of snarled fibers.
So with a 4mm hook and loose stitching as is my wont, I barely squeaked this out of one skein. Had to frog the bottom band and redo it smaller to have enough left to go around the front edge, but I managed, with like one inch left.
Won't use this yarn again if I can avoid it, oof. It gets all fuzzy just looking at it sideways. Suspect even taking it on and off a doll several times will make it scraggly beyond repair.
This is a Spiridoll Abies v1 head on a Dollzone b70-004 body with Dollshe hands I believe.

Went to a friend's house today, took some dolls for photos.
This is a 1975 US release Mattel Sweet 16 doll head, which has a sculpt that was originally created for the Japanese market. I've put it on an older style Curvy body, with angled wrists, and also with high heel feet (these things make a difference to me)
The top was crocheted by @joshybearhuggies , and I believe the skirt fabric came from @dollsonmain --Thanks again!
That fence is around a small family graveyard right next to my friend's house, which is one of the things that made my friend decide that was the house to get

Comfi Cardi update & completed project! Went on a bit of a journey with this one, which I'll explain under the cut XD Before I get into that I thought it would be fun to share Naturally Perfect Grace (formerly Camryn) alongside one of my favorite Rainbow High makeovers, since they share a very similar color palette (I used the same crochet thread for the edging on the cardi and the main body of Coco's skirt).
The fibers used for the cardi are Elite Shawl Glitz (discontinued) from Ice Yarns; and Lizbeth Size 10 crochet thread in 122-Caribbean.
So. I started off following the Comfi Cardi tutorial using the yarn weight and hook size indicated to make a garment for American Girl dolls. What quickly became apparent was that this piece was going to be MUCH too large for the doll I intended to wear it. Although Naturally Perfect and American Girl dolls are both 18 inches tall, their body types are quite different. I was aware of this, but as I do not own and have never handled an AG I had no clear idea of just how great the difference was until I began this project.
Nevertheless I continued to work my way through the various sections, both to familiarize myself with the process and to create a visual aid to refer to on my next attempt. I stopped just short of the finishing stages (sewing the sides and adding the ribbing) for easier reference, though I did work a row of the ribbing stitch on one of the cuffs and sew down the side to try it on the doll and make sure I understood the directions before pulling it out again (no reason to leave the yarn attached and trailing about).
The other reason for finishing the main work on this piece is simply that I hope sometime in the near future to acquire an appropriately sized doll to wear it! If not AG then Our Generation or similar. At that point I can circle back and complete it.
Once I had worked through the pattern-as-given I had the guidelines I needed to start over and create a piece custom fit to my doll. I switched from a light(3) to a fine(2) weight yarn, and went down to a B-2mm hook. Checking against the doll as I went I ended up reducing the main granny square from 11 rounds to 9, then adjusted the front panel and sleeve lengths accordingly.
For the cuffs and edging, instead of ribbing I opted for something more in line with my personal aesthetic, and chose a couple of simple lace stitches that would adapt easily to this scale and allow me to incorporate some beadwork and a button. These beads were leftover from jewelry I made in the late 90s and have been knocking around my stash ever since; it was particularly satisfying to almost use them up on a piece intended for my tiny doppelganger XD I'll probably incorporate the few that remain into one of her necklaces.
And that's it! I'm looking forward to doing this again for my other Naturally Perfect girl, after I complete her skirt. For simplicity's sake I'm going to repeat the same layout with different yarn/beads/thread. After that I might try scaling it down even further for my 14 inch dolls, but knowing my tendency to get distracted I don't want to plan too much in advance.
Big thanks again to @joshybearhuggies for sharing such a clear, well-paced, easy to follow tutorial! Over the past 15 or so years I've gathered my crochet techniques from books, written patterns, and stitch diagrams, but video instruction is an area I haven't ventured into much. This project was such pleasant experience I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for similar content in the future.

* Music by my son @ezekairobinson* I decided to add some colour blends to her head top; the dark purple into a magenta and then into green with a bit if charcoal shading. I wanted to enhance the beauty of the bark like head sculpt and also give the feel of flower essence. Her faceup that @joshybearhuggies is so nice and clean so I could get away with adding more colour to her head. He also crochet this romper for her. I wish I could crochet, tho is has put up some tutorials his Insta account. So far I have only make her her flower belt. I look forward to sewing her some other items. I am currently working on a backdrop for her cause I need to switch up my creative thought. Been having trouble with inspiration or maybe motivation, over the past couple days. . . . #queendollylama #dollartist #customdolls #dollymail #dolladoption #faewoodsdolls #grail #bjd #yosd #whimsical #mystical #fantasycharacters #woodlandcreatures https://www.instagram.com/p/B-GE30Lpb2C/?igshid=16jye4vniy90c
