On the UC links to intelligence
Excerpted from "Cults, Anti-Cults, and the Cult of Intelligence" by Daniel Brandt, in the Alternative Press Review (Fall 1994)
The first example of such links is the Unification Church (UC) of Rev. Sun Myung Moon. Today it is too well-established to be considered a cult; the list of their front groups and businesses in NameBase runs to 28 pages with 667 names. The UC no longer recruits on U.S. campuses the way they used to—they don’t need the money that Moonies would earn from selling flowers at airports, and they don’t need this sort of publicity. Instead they buy universities: in 1992 the UC plunked down over $50 million for the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, and one of the UC’s new trustees there is Jack E. Thomas, who was assistant chief of staff for U.S. air force intelligence for six years, and then special assistant to the CIA director for nine years. Rev. Moon is also a force in Washington today. In 1992 he admitted that over its ten-year history, the Washington Times had cost him “close to one billion dollars.” The influence and respectability this provides is presumably worth more than that.
Before the Unification Church was incorporated in the U.S. in 1963 by Bo Hi Pak, Moon had the support of the South Korean Central Intelligence Agency (KCIA). The expansion of the cult into the U.S. was conceived as a means of influencing U.S. politics. Four of Moon’s early followers were young army officers close to Kim Jong Pil, the founding director of the KCIA and chief strategist for the Park regime. Bo Hi Pak was the KCIA liaison to U.S. intelligence at the time, stationed in the Korean Embassy in Washington. Today he is one of Moon’s top aides and president of the Washington Times. In 1962 Kim made a two-week official visit to the U.S., and Lt.Col. Bo Hi Pak arranged meetings with CIA director John McCone, defense secretary Robert McNamara, and Defense Intelligence Agency director Gen. Joseph Carroll. On his way home, Kim met with some of Moon’s followers in San Francisco. Pak’s other duties at the Korean Embassy included frequent liaison trips to the National Security Agency at Fort Meade, Maryland.
Today the Moon empire is similar to a transnational corporation with various subsidiaries. Cult-like aspects remain visible among Moon’s entourage, but from the perspective of most employees, many Moon enterprises are just like other corporations. Rev. Moon still considers himself a Messiah, and his far- flung investments are the means he’s using to save the world. His politics are essentially reactionary and anti-Communist, and he has received political and financial support from Yoshio Kodama, Ryoichi Sasakawa, and other powerful Japanese right-wing figures. In 1970 the Japanese contingent of Moon’s organization sponsored the annual conference of the World Anti-Communist League.

Well everyone I'm gonna be frank with ya: I was requested a make this emotional minecraft video and make it NOT "stupid" so that i can emotionally seduce my new proxy wife, Lily Collins. here's what's gonna happen: she'll listen to the music as we're talking, we're just hanging out, no big deal, capiche? she found out about all the folk stalking us, i keep telling her more and more, so we meet up in my house in cranston and have a beer or two as we try and figure out what to do. not even tryna drink, you know? there's just beer, i just ask her randomly at some point if she wants a beer as i'm about to drink one. based on this information i'd say i was about 24, 25 at the time of this imagined encounter, but i digress
now i'm barely looking at her 'cause i'm depressed abt romance. the object of my misery? well, i'm not gonna beat around the bush this time, i'm gonna say it's Elana as a joke lol! so i'm sad about Elana, capiche? aww jeez and i obv don't open up to Lily about it because, you know something? she's busy. i'm busy. i dont wanna be nuisance or burden to anyone. in a decade i will write a novel about this encounter, and i will sh*t on libertarianism and, without outright stating it, hint at it throughout the novel and its presence in "my" life. Lily is from England, the place with the most individualistic culture in the world. she doesn't know what to do. she hang out with ancom, but here he is: the biggest self-hating libertarian on earth. he hates himself and Elana so much that he became a communist. the night ends exactly the way you think it would...

oh and (lol) as you can see i added on to the new minecraft singleplayer world but i dont remember if anyone asked for anythin specific, etc

Carroll O'Connor
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/1ff27acfaf550deae5f614141c2673d6/63f2c168e965dc86-6c/s540x810/e04ba0045dcd8b65545159da86a6694d0a5142b6.jpg)
Physique: Average/Husky Build Height: 5′ 10½″ (1.79 m)
John Carroll O'Connor (August 2, 1924 – June 21, 2001; aged 76) was an American actor whose television career spanned over four decades. O'Connor found widespread fame as Archie Bunker (for which he won four Emmy Awards), the main character in the CBS television sitcoms All in the Family (1971–1979) and its continuation, Archie Bunker's Place (1979–1983). O'Connor later starred in the NBC/CBS television crime drama In the Heat of the Night (1988–1995), where he played the role of police chief William "Bill" Gillespie. In the late 1990s, he played Gus Stemple, the father of Jamie Buchman (Helen Hunt) on Mad About You. In 1996, O'Connor was ranked number 38 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time. He won five Emmys and one Golden Globe Award.

Carroll was born in Manhattan and raised in Forest Hills, a borough of Queens, New York. After graduating from high school in 1942, O'Connor joined the Merchant Marines and worked on ships in the Atlantic. In 1946, he enrolled at the University of Montana to study English. While there, he became interested in theater. During one of the amateur productions, he met his future wife, Nancy Fields, whom he married in 1951. They would later adopted their only child while in Rome, Italy in 1962 while he filmed Joseph L. Mankiewicz’s Cleopatra.

I first fell in lust with O'Connor for his role as crusty police chief William 'Bill' Gillespie on the crime drama "In the Heat of the Night." O'Connor captured my imagination so much that he still remains one of the key templates of what a daddy should be like to me. Chubby, grey hair, gentle features but with a hint 'I'll fuck you up if you cross me' added for good measure. But as hot as he looked on the show, he looked insanely gorgeous as Archie on reruns of "All in the Family." Yes a rarity for me. Liking a man when they were younger.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c7d25d6ad01a960ec4d604b97bc88266/63f2c168e965dc86-a8/s540x810/f016bb94062303f6eeb9271cfbf38a85be72afd8.webp)

Even though O'Connor was nothing like his alter ego, Archie. Being shy, soft-spoken, introverted, intellectual and liberal. He had a charm that would have had me on my knees in minutes of speaking with him. Just sheer daddy perfection. He may not have been traditional-leading-man handsome, but I’ve always found Mr. O'Connor as nice looking. Listed as #20 on TV Land’s Top 50 TV Icons Countdown, but in the top five on my all time actors that I’d like to fuck senseless. O'Connor died at the age of 76 on June 21, 2001, in Culver City, California, from a heart attack brought on by complications from diabetes.

So I just finished watching most of the Giallo/horror films Carroll Baker made during her time in Italy from 1967- 1975, and I loved all of them! They all have their own lurid, stylish, and gruesome retro charm.
The first four posters are her film collabs with director Umberto Lenzi, the fifth pic is her on the set of So Sweet, So Perverse with Lenzi and Trintignant, and the last three films were directed by Romolo Guerrieri, Corrado Farina, and Luigi Scattini, who were some of the finest B-movie directors in Europe.
So how did a famous Old Hollywood actress like Carroll Baker ended up filming sleazy Giallos in Italy? As seen in Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time in Hollywood, many American actors would bitch about having to go to Europe for work (aka DiCaprio’s character).
She was blacklisted by creepy producer, Joseph E. Levine, after he tried to control her career with an iron fist, cheat her out of money, and possibly tried to sleep with her for roles. After a divorce and the snub from Hollywood, Carroll made the right move by going to Europe, becoming fluent in Italian, and networking with local directors.
Carroll’s Italian films were panned in the USA, as stuffy Americans film critics saw her venture as a downgrade from working with the likes of Elia Kazan, George Stevens and John Ford. In reality, many Old Hollywood movies seem dated and sterile, whereas Euro cinema of the 60s/70s retains a fresh, artistic, innovative vibe even today and a dedicated cult following.
She said of that period of her career:
"I think I made more films [there] than I made in Hollywood, but the mentality is different. What they think is wonderful is not what we might ... it was marvelous for me because it really brought me back to life, and it gave me a whole new outlook. It's wonderful to know about a different world."

Emily Starr never knew what it was to be lonely—until her beloved father died. Now Emily's an orphan, and her mother's snobbish relatives are taking her to live with them at New Moon Farm. She's sure she won't be happy. Emily deals with stiff, stern Aunt Elizabeth and her malicious classmates by holding her head high and using her quick wit. Things begin to change when she makes friends: with Teddy, who does marvelous drawings; with Perry, who's sailed all over the world with his father yet has never been to school; and above all, with Ilse, a tomboy with a blazing temper. Amazingly, Emily finds New Moon beautiful and fascinating. With new friends and adventures, Emily might someday think of herself as Emily of New Moon.

The View from Saturday by E. L. Konigsburg
How has Mrs. Olinski chosen her sixth-grade Academic Bowl team? She had a number of answers. But were any of them true? How had she really chosen Noah and Nadia and Ethan and Julian? And why did they make such a good team? It was a surprise to a lot of people when Mrs. Olinski's team won the sixth-grade Academic Bowl contest at Epiphany Middle School. It was an even bigger surprise when they beat the seventh grade and the eighth grade, too. And when they went on to even greater victories, everyone began to ask: How did it happen?
It happened at least partly because Noah had been the best man (quite by accident) at the wedding of Ethan's grandmother and Nadia's grandfather. It happened because Nadia discovered that she could not let a lot of baby turtles die. It happened when Ethan could not let Julian face disaster alone. And it happened because Julian valued something important in himself and saw in the other three something he also valued.
Mrs. Olinski, returning to teaching after having been injured in an automobile accident, found that her Academic Bowl team became her answer to finding confidence and success. What she did not know, at least at first, was that her team knew more than she did the answer to why they had been chosen.

Circle of Magic by Tamora Pierce

There she meets Briar, a former thief who has a way with plants; Daja, an outcast gifted at metalcraft; and Tris, whose connection with the weather unsettles everyone, including herself. At Winding Circle, the four misfits are taught how to use their magic - and to trust one another. But then disaster strikes their new home. Can Sandry weave together four kinds of magical power and save herself, her friends, and the one place where they've ever been accepted?
Catherine, Called Birdy by Karen Cushman
Catherine feels trapped. Her father is determined to marry her off to a rich man--any rich man, no matter how awful.
But by wit, trickery, and luck, Catherine manages to send several would-be husbands packing. Then a shaggy-bearded suitor from the north comes to call--by far the oldest, ugliest, most revolting suitor of them all.
Unfortunately, he is also the richest.
Can a sharp-tongued, high-spirited, clever young maiden with a mind of her own actually lose the battle against an ill-mannered, piglike lord and an unimaginative, greedy toad of a father?
Deus! Not if Catherine has anything to say about it!

just a reminder that we're not celebrities, our lives aren't fake, we don't have teams that your disgusting teams have to go through to send these messages at us. whoever is a cop in my old friend groups, we and our networks don't know how to handle something ABSURD such as, what, an entire series of advertisements that have a hidden suggestion that THIS WOMAN SPECIFICALLY had sex with WHO KNOWS WHO? what happened was every single one of your gross yankee iluminati "secret messages" came through, ok? all of them. there was no team to filter them. Providence looked like the stupidest place on earth two years ago, and if you knew all these people you probably just lost your mind or wanted to die. the only way I atleast knew how to respond was to start trying to kill all of you, and i'll keep doing it. i am not a celebrity, i don't have a team, we aka me, some hiding friends, many authorities, really a mob of folk, are genuinely trying to kill you people if it makes you shut up. it's too late. you showed how you treat one another, it's over as far as i'm concerned

lol no really, i thought we'd convert many 'a them. instead a' the climate crisis being mitigated by a huge (but maybe not as big as some thought would be necessary?) decline in human population, i thought, well, there'd be so many folk commited to at least ONE task or ONE set of goals that we'd invent some kinda, i dunno... 5 dimensional abomination that converts heat into cold lol, na' mean!?
PS, to this person labelled on the internet as being named "Elana Kinda" and who some told me was my daughter with Elana... yes lol, i know you're not my daughter, but i DID leave open the possibilitiy 'til i had the time to take a closer look and it was more-or-less confirmed that you weren't, capiche?... so, is that a fake name? have a story abt why so many named themselves this and look like her? witness protection program? hey, i'm no cop, just a vigilante lol! i dont break no laws, though, capiche?!
