SAN JOSE, CA - In a development that has left the tech world both bewildered and strangely intrigued, a team of renegade engineers at Silicon Valley giant Frito-Lay has cracked the code on the global chip shortage: Doritos. Yes, you read that correctly. The beloved cheesy triangles are being hailed as the potential savior of the tech industry, offering a crunchy, flavorful alternative to the traditional silicon chip. "The situation was dire," lamented Dr. Bartholomew Cheesypoofs, a leading tech industry analyst (and self-proclaimed connoisseur of all things cheesy). "We were facing a future devoid of new iPhones, delayed deliveries of the latest gaming consoles, and an entire generation of teenagers forced to socialize in person. It was a tech dystopia of unimaginable proportions." Government interventions, Cheesypoofs continued, proved laughably ineffective. "Tax breaks for chip manufacturers? Been there, done that. Bribing Taiwan with a lifetime supply of Twinkies? Apparently, not their thing," he sighed, shaking his head. Enter the unlikely heroes: Brenda "Salty" Sanchez and Miguel "Salsa" Diaz, custodians at Frito-Lay's Doritos production facility. While meticulously sweeping up rogue nacho cheese dust bunnies during their night shift, Sanchez stumbled upon a revelation. "I was just admiring the beautiful, intricate circuitry of a fallen Dorito," Sanchez explained, holding up a mangled Cool Ranch chip with a reverent air. "And then it hit me! The ridges, the folds, the sheer cheesy perfection – it all resembled a miniature motherboard!" Diaz, ever the pragmatist, scoffed at first. "Brenda, honey, that's just a Dorito. We clean these things up all night." But Sanchez, fueled by a potent combination of cleaning supplies and late-night cafeteria chimichangas, was undeterred. Fueled by this "Eureka!" moment (and possibly a questionable amount of vending machine Mountain Dew), Sanchez and Diaz spent the next few weeks conducting a series of unorthodox experiments. They subjected Doritos to voltage tests, used salsa as a conductor (with mixed results), and even attempted to hot-wire a toaster into a rudimentary supercomputer (a decision they later regretted). Finally, after weeks of questionable science and a near-catastrophic nacho cheese explosion, they achieved a breakthrough. They managed to successfully transmit a rudimentary "Hello World" message using a modified Dorito and a cobbled-together network of Funyuns. News of their success spread like wildfire through the chip-starved tech industry. Frito-Lay, initially skeptical of the custodians' claims, quickly saw the potential goldmine (or should we say, chip-mine?) in their hands. "We're calling it the 'Crunch-Powered' line," gushed a Frito-Lay executive, brandishing a prototype smartphone with a distinctly nacho cheese-dusted exterior. "Imagine, the satisfying crunch with every text message! The exhilarating tang of salsa as you scroll through Instagram! It's a whole new sensory experience!" Tech companies, desperate for any solution, have been quick to jump on the Dorito bandwagon. Samsung is rumored to be developing a line of "Cool Ranch Refrigerators," while Apple is said to be working on a "Spicy Nacho Pro Max" laptop (complete with a built-in salsa dispenser for those late-night coding sessions). However, some experts remain skeptical. "The long-term durability of Doritos as a viable chip alternative remains to be seen," warned Dr. Cheesypoofs. "What happens when a user gets a hankering for a snack mid-workday? Are we facing a future of Dorito-less devices and a tech support nightmare of epic proportions?" Others worry about the potential for accidental consumption. "Imagine accidentally taking a bite out of your router," shuddered a cybersecurity expert, visibly shaken by the image. "The implications for network security are… crunchy, to say the least." Despite the concerns, the Dorito solution offers a glimmer of hope in a chip-deprived world. Whether it's a long-term solution or a temporary, albeit delicious, stopgap remains to be seen.
But one thing's for sure: the future of technology is starting to look a little bit cheesier. Call to Action: So, the next time you reach for a bag of Doritos, remember – you might not just be satisfying your snack cravings, you could be holding the key to the future of technology (and potentially a very cheesy computer). In the meantime, let's all support real solutions to the chip shortage, like investing in domestic chip manufacturing and fostering international cooperation. Unless, of course, you prefer a world powered by salsa and Cool Ranch. The choice, my friends, is yours (and slightly terrifying).

Who Created the Flags of Central America?
Tumblr media
Central America was once united under a single flag. During the years of the Spanish Empire, 1823 to 1841, a trilinear flag of white and blue was created by Colonel Arce. The flag was given to an El Salvadoran army as they battled Mexico. on 20 February 1822. The region that unites North and South America is made up of seven countries: - Panama:  The country’s flag is divided into four rectangles of red,  two white spots, and blue colors.  Each white rectangle has a colored star- the first one has a blue star, and the second ports a red one. The flag was designed by Maria De La Ossa De Amador in 1903. - Costa Rica: After changing many flags, the country boasts one with five horizontal bands of blue, white, and red, with the country’s coat of arms sitting in a white disc on the red band. The flag was designed by Pacífica Fernández and adopted in 1906. - Nicaragua: The Nicaraguan national flag consists of three horizontal blue and white stripes with the country’s coat of arms in the middle. The flag was adopted after over five decades of its existence. It is believed that the flag was designed by  Juan Pablo Duarte, a Nicaraguan politician and military commander.
The Triband Flags of Central America

- Guatemala: Similar to four Central American flags, the flag of Guatemala consists of three blue and white vertical stripes. The Guatemala flag was created in 1871 by then President Miguel Garcia Granados and fellow attorney, Juan José de la Riva. - Honduras: This is the third country that shares the triband white and blue. The Honduran flag is divided into three equal horizontal stripes of white and blue. Like Guatemala, the ruling president created the country's flag.  Jose Maria Medina established the Honduran flag on February 16, 1866, - Belize: This is the most unique of all the Central American flags. Laced with three stripes, two thin red stripes at the top and bottom, and one big blue stripe in the middle, the flag includes variables ranging from leaves to political parties. The was designed in a national competition by winners Everal Waight and Inez Sanchez. It was adopted in 1986 - El Salvador: The last of the triband flags,  the country employs the white and blue in three equal bands. It was the first of the designs dating back to 1823 when Colonel Manuel José Arce created the flag. The flag has been emulated by at least three other Central American nations. Although Central America is now divided into unique nations, their people tell similar stories with the colors of their flags. Read the full article

Pirates Take Twins.
Twins 4 Pirates 7 W-Keller (1-1) L-Sanchez (0-3) SV-Holderman (1)
The Minnesota Twins made the long trip up the Bradenton to play the Pirates this afternoon. There weren’t many big names that made the trip for the Twins. Pitching dominated for the first three innings as Aaron Sanchez and Mitch Keller threw up zeroes. Trevor Larnach started the scoring when he blasted a Keller fastball out to left-center for a solo homer. The Pirates answered in the bottom of the fourth as Bryan Reynolds led-off with a double to left. Ke’Bryan Hayes smacked an Aaron Sanchez curveball out to left for a two-run blast. Miguel Andujar kept the rally going with a walk and stole second base. Mark Mathias doubled him home as the Pirates took a 3-1 lead after four innings of play. Willi Castro started a sixth inning rally with a two-out walk and stole second base. Matt Wallner dumped a base hit into right and the Twins pulled within a run. The Pirates responded in the bottom of the sixth as Ke’Bryan Hayes led-off with a walk and Canaan Smith-Njigba doubled to right. Miguel Andujar hit a sacrifice fly to center and Rodolfo Castro singled home another run. Pittsburgh held a 5-2 lead after six innings of play. The Twins answered as Tyler White led-off with an infield single and Elliot Soto walked. Brooks Lee and Jose Miranda singled home runs and the Twins were within a run. The Pirates would come right back as Travis Swaggerty smoked a Trevor Megill offering out to right for a long solo shot. Pittsburgh would get some insurance in the eighth wihen Chris Owings led-off with a single to right and Jason Delay was hit by a pitch. Andres Alvarez lined a run-scoring double to left as the Pirates took a 7-4 lead into the ninth inning. Jonathan Holderman had a 1-2-3 ninth and the game ended on a pitch clock violation by David Banuelos.
-Final Thoughts- Aaron Sanchez threw three shutout innings then hit a wall in the fourth. He went 3 2/3 innings and allowed three runs on two hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Jordan Brink got out of the fourth, Brock Stewart got five outs and allowed two runs, Trevor Megill fanned two and gave up the mammoth homer to Travis Swaggerty in 1 1/3 innings, and Cole Sands gave up a run and struck out the side in the eighth. Trevor Larnach led the offense with two hits on the day. The Twins hit 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eleven men on base. Byron Buxton went 3-for-3 with a double and a walk in a game on the backfields of Hammond Stadium. Carlos Correa went 0-for-2 with a walk and Alex Kirilloff went 0-for-2 and played four innings at first base in the same game. The Twins will return home to host the Braves tomorrow afternoon with Kenta Maeda on the hill.

“Art should comfort the disturbed and disturb the comfortable.” – Cesar A. Cruz.
Paintings will always fascinate me. Whenever I see one in person, I tend to get close to it to see the pattern of brush strokes on the canvas and then I would just stare at it for a moment, taking my time to see every pattern that has been put on it and thinking what inspires the artist to make such a great masterpiece. Whenever I see one on social media, I would click the picture and zoom it in because I really like to see the detailing of the artwork. Not long after that, I would find myself checking the profile of an artist I just admired.
Paintings for me are like a story, created to always be remembered. It represents an important event that should not be forgotten but sometimes, a painting or an art in general does not have any story behind it. It can be less about history, lives, and things and more on lines, shapes, and colors.
When we were given a chance to talk about fond artists and artworks, a person who instantly appears on my mind is no other than Carlos „Botong‟ Francisco. A Filipino muralist considered as one of the most important wall painters and is famous for his historical paintings. In 1914, Botong was born and raised in Angono, a town in the Philippine province of Rizal. Francisco attended the School of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines. He made graphics for the Tribune and La Vanguardia before the war, and afterwards painted sets for the Manila Grand Opera House and the Clover Theater with Victorio Edades and Fermin Sanchez. After WWII, Francisco taught at the University of Santo Tomas while still working in filmmaking as a playwright and costume designer with Miguel Conde
Francisco was also a member of the "Thirteen Moderns," an avant-garde group founded in 1938. He was one of the first group of Filipino modernists, alongside Edades and Galo B. Ocampo, who pioneered the transition of Philippine art from the Amorsolo school to the modernist movement. A number of murals with stylized figures in flowing, serpentine lines were commissioned by Francisco, Edades, and Ocampo. The artists contributed to the development of a Filipino iconography through these works, drawing influence from Filipino customs and traditions, as well as familiar locations. Francisco used bright folk colors, rhythmic lines, and colorful patterns in his work. He invoked the community life of Filipino festivities and gatherings. His paintings were inspired by mythology, history, legend, and modern village life in the Philippines.
If I were to choose on one of his paintings, the one that strike me the most is his Bayanihan mural painting, commissioned in 1962 by UNILAB founder Jose Y. Campos. Bayanihan is oil on canvas painting refers to the Filipino community spirit, as well as the actual practice of villagers literally taking a home upon their collective shoulders and moving it to a new location. The Bayanihan spirit embodies the Filipino concept of helping and supporting one another without expecting anything in return, especially in times of need.
As for my interpretation of the Bayanihan painting, this conveys the idea that there is no great weight on a caring and helpful community. This artwork is also a fantastic illustration of the uplifting wave of goodness that began one year ago, mid of April 2020. When a group of friends established a community pantry on Maginhawa St. in Quezon City, they encouraged people to give according to their means and take according to their needs. From farmers to health care workers, everyone came together to fight hunger and exemplify bayanihan, or "gathering
communal effort," which made me feel that there is still hope and goodwill in our society despite the lack of official support. Today, the term bayanihan has taken on many different meanings and has been used as a codename for initiatives that show the spirit of collaboration among a group of people.
