[•] Jorge Olave Riveros Photographer and visual artist based in Chile. He explores historical techniques and alternative photographic processes that are friendly to the environment and the cross between art, science and technology. He is a specialist in chemical and pinhole photography. He currently researches artificial intelligence and its tension with traditional photography.
Through my work, I seek to create images of diffuse temporality that invite the viewer to consider other perceptual possibilities of reality, highlighting liminal experiences and the role of technology in the creation and mediation of the artistic experience. I am interested in destabilizing the hegemony of visual regimes and making art a space for reflection and freedom.
I have a certain aesthetic propensity for pictorialism and photographic gloom, which I emphasize from the darkroom and through the use of photosensitive emulsions and non-traditional supports.
