so sorry for posting non-spn stuff cuz i know this is suppose to be a spn blog but ykw i have free will and this vessel has many interests that go beyond spn.

anyways thinking about jonmund being together post-canon where jon went with the free folk. and it's good all good but tormund starts to realize some weird stuff about jon. like jon can be perfectly fine for long periods of time and then for a week he can barely get out of bed or eat food or drink water or just function like a normal person?? and tormund assumes that he's just sick but jon never has typical symptoms of a sick person like fever or shakes or congestion or throwing up so like wtf??

and for a brief second tormund wonders if jon is just being lazy and doesn't want to work but that's SO un-jon that he just can't believe it so it has to be something else. he assumes it's maybe chronic pain or a past wound acting up, so he asks jon where it hurts and jon just stares at him blearily for a while until shrugging his shoulders.

and tormunds like"???" cuz Jon usually is great at communication and then tormund starts to worry that Jon is mad at him or something and he thinks really hard about what he could have done wrong but he can't think of anything and jon hasn't gotten out of bed besides for bathroom breaks for two weeks already so tormund decides to just ask him outright.

and he asks jon and after jon explains exactly what he's feeling tormund very quickly connects the dots that it's a sickness of the mind not the body. he explains so to jon and jon's like "that's not a thing" and of course southeners don't really have an understanding or empathy for mental illnesses so jon is just use to being told he's lazy and making up his discomfort his entire life.

and tormund's like "no ur not lazy it's a serious thing" and jon doesn't believe him 100% but he agrees to see a healer anyways and she gives him roots to eat that'll help and recommends doing less stressful things and make sure to go outside everyday. and jon's like "that makes no sense but ok" and he starts doing that and the persistent hopelessness doesn't completely go away but he starts feeling much better to the point he can mostly function and it's great and jonmund live happily ever after the end

sorry i just have BIG BURSTING thoughts about how mental illness would be treated in westeros and i think most places wouldn't really have an understanding or empathy for it but i like to think the free folk would because they're more open minded.
