devil’s club rollerballs for sale!
i have about 10 devil’s club and white willow bark rollerballs left, these bottles are 10 ml, and the oil is jojoba and olive oil infused with devil’s club bark and white willow bark. devil’s club is a wonderful natural pain reliever, and willow bark is anti inflammatory, this is a combo i made specifically with artists and generally people who work with their hands in mind. the oils absorb into your skin faster than a salve, so you can continue working without worrying about getting your work greasy, and still feel relief. i personally use this for my carpal tunnel, and my aunt, mom, and both grandmas use it for arthritis and back pain.
ingredients: devil’s club bark, white willow bark, jojoba oil, cold pressed olive oil.
$17 + $5 for US shipping, if you are in the seattle area we can arrange local pickup at one of my future market dates. if you are interested either send me a message here or email me at [email protected]

simple skincare tips!
🌼eat the foods that love you back. your skin is a direct mirror of your internal situation. if your digestive system is being bombarded often by foods that create a lot of wastes and residues, that does more harm than good. and so, the struggle to eliminate them will be reflected in your skin. your diet constitutes the vast majority of your skin health. change your meals to be whole food plant based (still delicious, satisfying, and exciting) & watch your skin glow and your skincare routine simplify.
🌼be conscious of what's going on your skin. the skin layers can be over-cleansed, imbalanced, and aggravated when the skin microbiome and pH are disrupted. if you wipe out the beneficial bacterial populations with harshly formulated products, you may find that you break out (i.e. harmful bacterial populations begin to thrive). use gentle, simple skin formulas such as castile soaps, natural oils & butters (i recommend jojoba oil for mostly everyone), natural soap bars, and clays. most commercial skin care products disturb the skin cells (introduce too much foreign material to the body, unsuitable pH ranges, imbalance the microbiome, etc). they sell because it's convention to buy them, the brands are well-known, and their sales pitches are enticing. but really, no cream or serum will ever be the magic potion your skin was asking for. it will only be a band-aid, at best. truly healthy skin comes from diet, and the products are just for any other necessary maintenance. if you get a pimple, you should look first to why the pimple emerged, not what treatment will remove it.
🌼keep your lymph flowing. simple ways to do this are through good lifestyle habits. things like doing exercise & sports you find fun, breathwork, dry brushing, eating lots of fruit, avoiding wearing bras & other tight clothing items, lymphatic massage/gua sha can all be helpful.
🌼focus on hydration via fresh fruits and veggies. the water within plant foods is more useable to your cells, and your skin will cease being overly oily or dry overtime (especially if you reduce/eliminate your salt & oil intake). it will also help to encourage lymphatic flow, so you can see problems like blemishes, cellulite, old scars diminish after great consistency.
🌼allow your skin to breathe. this is especially good if you spend time in stuffy (poorly ventilated) indoor environments, like offices, hospitals, planes, etc. one great way is via herbal facial steaming (i recommend it 3x a week or so). make a hot infusion of an aromatic tea, cover it and allow it to cool a few minutes, and, with closed eyes, allow the pores to open and receive the herbal medicine (this is a great time to meditate, manifest, and just feel pampered). getting more fresh air, working up a sweat, and going to a sauna are also ways to allow your skin to breathe.
🌼avoid steroid prescriptions creams at all costs. they are very deleterious to health in the long term, and they can be very painful to come off of. it's not a real fix. it's not worth hurting your kidneys & adrenals for. evaluate your diet instead. do you eat dairy? choose plant-based dairy options instead (they're simple to make yourself too). do you eat a lot of fats? try oil-free cooking methods instead (opt for sautéing with a bit of water, baking, steaming, air frying, etc). avoiding eating out as much.
🌼be aware of what you're putting in your hair as well. your shampoos, conditioner, leave-ins, gels, moisturizers, oils, serums, etc all tend to touch your face too, when your hair touches your face. if they wouldn't be good enough to put on your face, don't put them in your hair. a lot of the best skin cleansers are also suitable as shampoos. a lot of oils and butters can be used for both. plant-based gels like aloe vera or flax seed are simple to DIY, and are dual-use once again. basically, this will simplify your life.
🌼understand the water that runs through your pipes. if your shower and tap water are like most people's around the world, they aren't optimal for our skin. for example, they contain added chemicals to sanitize the water but that can prevent the proper microbiomes from developing on your skin. a weak skin microbiome is prone to skin issues. so, try to use distilled water on your face (if you're not able to get a water filter, a gallon jug at a store is affordable. they're about $1.30 USD in my area).

tuesday again 6/6/2023
two things to frontload:
if you have good vibes to send off in service of me getting a livable apartment in the greater houston tx area i would be most grateful, bc the hunt ain't fuckin goin too fuckin great
go play ABZÛ
listening
soul bossa nova by quincy jones bc it popped up on my discover weekly. i can only assume spotify recced this to me for bossa nova reasons bc i have been categorically ignoring austin powers my entire life and intend to continue on in this fashion.
youtube
it is a bop tho.
-
reading
when i wrote the pinned post for this blog i settled on "a common throughline in Shit What I Like is understanding how and why systems work" bc i hadn't yet listened to Well There's Your Problem, a podcast with slides about engineering disasters and systemic failures, and "OSHA aficionado" is shorter but less snappy than "WTYPP fan". anyway when i think "chemical spill" i do not generally think "hand sanitizer spill", and when i think "how do i get rid of all this unsellable poorly made hand sanitizer made in the early days of the pandemic" i do not immediately leap to "well i'll just dump pallets in this parking lot and warehouse and surely it won't spill and/or explode bc hand sanitizer is a product that makes you safer".
ArtNaturals was, at that point, not on the [FDA warning] list. Its sanitizer, labeled with a tasteful, millennial-friendly design that said it was vegan and infused with jojoba oil, was marketed as “safe for kids” and “a great bulk hand sanitizer pack for parents and teachers.” At least two school districts on the West Coast had purchased the sanitizer to distribute to students, in addition to two Ivy League universities. Then, in March 2021, a year into sales, an independent lab in Connecticut called Valisure announced that it had found benzene in the company’s sanitizer. Benzene, a widely used industrial chemical derived from petroleum, can be absorbed through the skin and is known to be a risk factor for leukemia.
came across it bc my rss feed really wanted me to subscribe to longreads (no), but this one did catch my eye as i was checking to make sure the site still wasn't for me

watching
youtube
watching this was a unexpectedly funny experience bc i recognized one of the backing instrumentals as a previous tuesdaypost song, which kind of felt like solving a mystery book on chapter three bc u knew an obscure fact about eels. this documentary came out in nov 22 and the song was one of this past feb's tuesdaysongs so i can only assume the spike in popularity from the documentary propelled it onto my discover weekly playlist??? the internet is a series of algorithmic tubes &tc
this is a tremendous work, as a documentary/history/archival effort/piece of art. it made me tear up. there's a very lovely sequence about memory and legacy that got me thinking a lot again about how i would like to be remembered. ive rewritten this section four times, when usually i don't redraft the tuesdaypost much at all. boils down to: complex and weird topic to talk about as an orphan, i am reluctant to be any more emotionally vulnerable than i absolutely have to during this time of great cross-country change and moving upheaval.
i appreciated how this was not tearjerker webby bait, which would have made it feel very hollow and embittered me even more during a week i am already predisposed to hate humanity. instead, mr perjurer is simply very good at his job (being an ethical documentarian)
-
playing
one game i really loved and one game i really hated, so it goes.
despite religiously downloading the epic store free game of the week bc i have a reminder written in my planner, i never fucking remember to actually look at what i have in that library.
ABZÛ genuinely healed my heart during a very unpleasant weekend.
i don't use this as a recs platform except for this one time when i am cashing in all my chips. go play ABZÛ, it takes like an hour and a half.
all you need to know about it you can get from the cover art. it is not a hard game and it is not a horror game. i went in totally blind and the less you know about this game the better. i was delighted nearly every minute. every time i saw an ammonite i felt like i was seeing an old friend. there are SO many clever game design choices i want to talk about. message me after you play this. i said "of COURSE IT WAS AUSTIN FUCKING WINTORY ON THE SCORE" during the credits. what an absolutely goddamn perfect little jewel of a game.
AGAIN: go play ABZÛ.
youtube
i also played Call of the Sea, bc it was in my epic library and i wanted something fast and oceanic to continue the high of ABZÛ.
Call of the Sea did not continue the high of ABZÛ. i think this team carefully and thoughtfully sidestepped several of the usual issues is making something Lovecraftian but fell into the rest of the pits. eg i liked that they had Polynesian culture consultants, but from an interview it seemed like it was limited to a one-day crash course? i am deeply grateful this isn't a dead-wife game and the female protagonist has a great deal of agency, but she's still a rich white lady from boston trekking about the Tahitian islands commenting on primitive structures, which made me suck air in through my teeth at many points. there is an "ancient slave culture" thread that never actually resolves. i really wish it resolved. the game overall is in a very weird place, trapped between the norms and mores of the early 40s and the 2020s. you have Got to commit to one or the other.
the overall vibe is very polished for a first game. general vibes are Firewatch but puzzle-adventure. the lighting is a little too dynamic and was very distracting throughout. due to this studio's age (new) and odd location (spain) and how their debut game came out (took a year and a half to make, debuted on gamepass) i understand why this game exists the way it does from a marketing and industry standpoint and why they favored visual polish and art style over everything else. it's still annoying bc it is so close to an interesting game.
the twist particularly infuriated me as a chronically ill person, spoilers for the twist behind rot13

hi! i was wondering, would you have any tips or recommendations for someone starting out in making cosmetics? for personal use and not commercial, in my case, and moreso things like lotion and chapstick rather than soap... i love your work (and your chapstick was my absolute favorite when you sold it) and it's a bit daunting, hope you wouldn't mind sharing how you started out and where you look for ingredients? thank you and hope you're having a wonderful day!!
So for me, a lot of it was just combining things with trial and error until I eventually ended up with something I loved. I don't have a lot of experience with lotion chemistry, but balms are one of the easiest cosmetics to make and can be adjusted to suit a whole host of things. The majority of balms you see sold that are natural have really similar bases- lipblam, warming rub, nipple balms, beard balms are all almost the same exact thing in principal. all have one or more softening oils (like almond, jojoba, olive, lanolin), a small amount of hardening oil or wax to give the balm some firmness (beeswax is most popular, cocoa butter, carnauba wax), and occasionally essential oils for scent/taste/bogus medical claim lol
I get my ingredients through a small supply warehouse, but these are only reasonable if you plan to make things to sale. You can find ingredients in smaller amounts here: Beauty stores (jojoba, raw shea, and raw cocoa butter is often sold for black skin & haircare) Grocery stores (mainly coconut oil, almond oil, sunflower oil, olive oil) Farmers markets (beeswax) And ebay for the harder to find specialty ingredients like carnauba or lanolin.
For lotions, the best I can advise is to look up how to make lotion videos. Be aware that unless you're making a natural body butter (which tends to be much more oily than a lotion), lotions require some special chemicals, but are otherwise not too much of a pain to put together.
Be sure to avoid putting skin irritants like cinnamon or lemon in.

i have sensitive skin that leans oily
Morning:
Cleanse - cetaphil hydrating cream to foam cleanser
Tone - cosrx propolis synergy toner
Serum - vitamin c serum - brand varies as long as its a liquid
Moisturize - cera ve for normal to dry skin
Eye cream -Bondi sands eye spy (i love the brightening)
Sunscreen - Australian gold botanical 50 tinted mineral sunscreen
Evening:
Cleanse as above
Tone as above except 1x per week - Paula’s choice BHA/AHA toner - skip retinol on this day
Retinol serum - previously used cera ve now using pixi - will prob try something ‘stronger’ next since i tolerate these very well - some nights i will just use A313 on dry toned skin and skip the rest
Moisturize as above
Eye cream - any (they don’t do much - i grab whats on sale)
Sleep mask - about 3x per weeks - leneige water sleep mask, doppeltree, trying leneige cica mask next
Lip mask - carenel berry
I tried cosrx snail mucin and was in denial that it was breaking me out 😔 also tried oil cleansing with burts bees oil cleanser and my skin does not seem to like any excess oil. I use jojoba oil to remove my makeup and for gua sha before cleansing and that works well
Skincare is very trial and error for me due to my sensitive skin and this is what seems to work best right now and i can say that i feel like my skin is kept in great condition. If i add too many new things, it freaks out

Elevate Your Skincare Routine: Buy Facial Oils & Serums Online
In the quest for radiant, youthful skin, facial oils and serums have become essential components of any effective skincare routine. These powerful elixirs are packed with concentrated ingredients designed to target specific skin concerns, from dryness and dullness to fine lines and uneven texture. With the convenience of online shopping, you can easily find the perfect facial oils and serums to address your unique skincare needs, all from the comfort of your home.
Why Facial Oils and Serums Are a Must-Have
Facial oils and serums offer a more potent solution compared to traditional moisturizers. While moisturizers primarily focus on hydrating the skin’s surface, serums and oils penetrate deeper, delivering active ingredients that work to repair, rejuvenate, and protect the skin at a cellular level.
Facial Oils: Rich in natural plant-based oils like argan, rosehip, and jojoba, facial oils are ideal for locking in moisture, soothing inflammation, and providing a protective barrier against environmental damage. They are particularly beneficial for dry or mature skin but can also be used by those with oily or combination skin when chosen correctly.
Serums: Serums are lightweight, fast-absorbing liquids that are formulated with high concentrations of active ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and retinol. They are designed to target specific concerns, including anti-aging, brightening, hydration, and acne prevention. By incorporating a serum into your skincare routine, you can achieve more noticeable and long-lasting results.
The Benefits of Buy Facial Oils & Serums Online
Shopping for facial oils and serums online offers several advantages:
Wide Selection: Online stores offer a vast array of products from different brands, making it easy to compare options and find the right formulation for your skin type and concerns. Whether you’re looking for a luxurious high-end serum or a budget-friendly facial oil, the variety available online is unmatched.
Convenience: With just a few clicks, you can browse through product descriptions, read customer reviews, and make an informed decision without leaving your home. This convenience is especially valuable for those with busy schedules or limited access to physical stores.
Exclusive Deals and Discounts: Many online retailers offer special promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs that can help you save money on your favorite skincare products. Additionally, signing up for newsletters can give you access to exclusive offers and early notifications of sales.
Expert Advice and Reviews: Reputable online stores often provide expert advice, skin quizzes, and detailed product information to help you make the best choice. Reading customer reviews can also provide insight into the effectiveness of a product and how it might work for your skin type.
How to Choose the Right Facial Oils and Serums
When selecting a facial oil or serum online, consider the following factors:
Skin Type: Choose products tailored to your skin type—dry, oily, combination, or sensitive. For example, if you have oily skin, opt for a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil like jojoba, while dry skin may benefit from a richer oil like argan.
Ingredients: Look for key ingredients that address your specific concerns. For anti-aging, seek out products with retinol or peptides. For hydration, hyaluronic acid is a must, and for brightening, vitamin C is a powerhouse ingredient.
Brand Reputation: Purchase from reputable brands and trusted online retailers to ensure you’re getting high-quality, authentic products. Check for certifications, such as cruelty-free or organic, if these are important to you.
Conclusion: Transform Your Skin with the Best Facial Oils & Serums
Investing in high-quality facial oils and serums can make a significant difference in the health and appearance of your skin. With the ease of online shopping, you have access to a world of skincare products that can help you achieve your beauty goals. Whether you’re looking to combat signs of aging, boost hydration, or simply enhance your skin’s natural glow, there’s a facial oil or serum out there that’s perfect for you. Eternal Youth: Navigating the World of Anti-Aging Skincare and Wellness
The Anti-Aging Products Market will grow at highest pace owing to rising geriatric population globally The anti-aging products market comprises products like anti-wrinkle cream, serum, moisturizer, cleanser, and sun protection products that help reduce signs of aging like fine lines, wrinkles, dark circles, and pigmentation. These products contain ingredients like retinol, hyaluronic acid, peptides, antioxidants, and vitamins that help boost collagen production and restore skin elasticity and firmness. They also hydrate and nourish the skin to keep it glowing and youthful-looking. The Global Anti-Aging Products Market is estimated to be valued at US$ 21.36 Bn in 2024 and is expected to exhibit a CAGR of 8.7% over the forecast period 2023 to 2030. Key Takeaways: Key players operating in the anti-aging products market are Unilever, Revlon, Beiersdorf, Photomedex Inc., Estee Lauder, Johnson and Johnson, Orlane and L’Oreal, Avon Products, Coty, Lotus Herbals, Rachel K Cosmetics, and Clarins. Rising geriatric population worldwide is leading to increased demand for anti-aging products. Technological advancements are also helping manufacturers launch innovative products with enhanced formulations. Growing demand: The rising geriatric population is the major driver of growth for the anti-aging products market. As per UN population data, around 12% of the global population was aged over 60 in 2020 which is projected to reach 21% by 2050. Older individuals are more concerned about signs of aging and preventive skin care. This age group dominates the consumer base of anti-aging creams, serums, and masks. Technological advancements: Continuous R&D is helping manufacturers launch anti-aging products containing novel ingredients and technologically advanced formulations. Products containing hyaluronic acid, peptides, ceramides, plant stem cells, and vitamins C and E targeting specific aging issues like dark spots, wrinkles, and loss of firmness are witnessing high demand. The availability of anti-aging skincare and makeup ranges online is also boosting the market growth. Market trends: Increased preference for organic and natural anti-aging products free from chemicals is a key trend. Major players have launched natural lines containing plant-based ingredients like aloe vera and jojoba oil. Another trend is multi-functional anti-aging products with SPF that provide sun protection along with anti-aging effects. Market Opportunities: Asia Pacific presents lucrative growth opportunities led by countries like China and India where rising incomes, growing middle class, and increasing awareness about skincare are driving the demand. Online retail is another opportunity as e-commerce giants offer higher convenience and variety to consumers. Specialized anti-aging men's grooming ranges catering to the specific skin concerns of male customers also present growth prospects. Impact of COVID-19 on Anti Aging Products Market The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the anti-aging products market. During the initial phases of the pandemic in 2020, lockdowns and social distancing measures led to store closures and supply chain disruptions. This caused a drop in sales of anti-aging products as people spent less time going out. E-commerce also saw a slowdown as priority shifted to essential goods. However, as people settled into working from home routines, the demand for anti-aging skincare products regained momentum. Spending more time at home made people focus more on self-care. The importance of looking good on video calls motivated them to invest in anti-aging products. Additionally, with less pollution and less time outdoors amid lockdowns, skin showed signs of improvement and sensitivity increased the need for protective anti-aging products.
