            There was never anything more unpleasant than returning to real life after a superhero mission. In the morning, you were fighting intra-dimensional threats to the multiverse. Later that afternoon, you were just trying to cross the street without being run over by a cab driver in a hurry, because your favourite hot dog stand had moved. It was always jarring, always destabilizing, to go back to the life of an ordinary citizen after doing things that were so extraordinary.

            That was how Johnny felt when he stumbled back to his apartment after returning from the Negative Zone only to find a sink full of dishes.

            For one very real moment, he considered incinerating them all.

Title: champagne problems (AO3)

Summary: In the aftermath of Reed and Sue's disappearance (and Ben's departure for space), Johnny crashes briefly with Wyatt in Oklahoma. Wyatt proposes. Johnny says no.

Notes: I haven't read the events surrounding Secret Wars, Reed and Sue's disappearance, and Ben and Johnny's falling out in years, so ignore anything that doesn't make sense. I just wanted to write this for the fun.

Allegedly he told someone (I think irl at a convention) that he wanted to do it but Marvel said no, he believes because he’s a straight man. Which is incredible on multiple levels and obviously not why Marvel said no but it DOES track with the first half of his Fantastic Four run.

This all started with Dick, obviously, who was the heartthrob in the Teen Titans, an extremely wholesome Disney Channel-esque co-ed group as a teenager. A decade later Tim was in the rebooted group, just called Titans to try and make it slightly edgier. He was supposed to be the heartthrob but Kon was there, so... (Jason had a solo hit - think "Baby" by Justin Bieber - and then he disappeared for years while a lot of bad things happened that the Waynes Don't Talk About. He came back as an extremely edgy punk artist and formed a band with former Teen Titan/tabloid scandal Roy Harper and Dick's ex-girlfriend.) Bruce is a music mogul who does genuinely love his children but doesn't quite understand that turning them all into child stars is like...maybe not the healthiest option? Clark is a music journalist.

Like in canon, Damian didn't know Bruce until he was 10, and he feels intense competition with his older brothers, so he's determined to become a bigger star than any of them. But his solo career absolutely TANKS because while he is extremely musically gifted, he has basically zero charisma because he refuses to unbend.

And then Bruce is over for dinner at his good friend Clark's house and he hears Jon singing along to an old Titans song and is like "...I have an idea." Clark is very, very unsure about it.

Damian does NOT like the idea but the first few performances as World's Finest actually go really well and he's begrudgingly willing to do what it takes. Jon doesn't fully win him over until they discover that he's a pretty good lyricist to Damian's composer. And then he realizes how skillfully Jon cheerfully deflects any prying questions about Damian's mother, or Jason, or anything Damian wouldn't want to talk about, and he starts to trust him.

Jon, of course, has been desperately in love with Damian since the first time he heard his voice.

Bonus: Ra's or someone offers Damian a solo record contract and he allllllmost signs it and Jon finds out and is very hurt and it's all very dramatic but Damian decides to stay with Jon and then they kiss onstage at the Grammy's or something.

he told me he was gonna do johnnywyatt in canon but editorial said no and he suspects that its bc he himself isnt queer so they didnt want him to do a queer storyline. he also said that even if johnnywyatt didnt end up together for real, they were something in the past.             In the years to come, Johnny would never be able to figure out who had started it. He would never know who had made the first move or who had changed the tone first. He only knew that it had happened, and for all the regrets he had had and would ever have, this was never one of them.

            “I’ll stop,” Wyatt said. His eyes were wide in the dimly lit bedroom that he had led Johnny into by the hand. His whole body was tense, quivering slightly like an arrow waiting to be shot. “I’ll stop,” Wyatt repeatedly, slightly hoarse. “Just tell me.”

            Johnny’s chest was tight. It felt as though he would never be able to breathe again, but that was okay with him. If it meant that these would be his last moments, his last memories, Johnny would happily close his lungs to the world forever.

i know you're here for dc but i must speak my truth. we need more johnnywyatt content in the marvel fandom. spideytorch is dead. it's never going to happen. peter is either straight or too oblivious to ever realise he likes men and either way marvel is going to be milking the petermj divorce remarriage magic-divorce remarriage divorce remarriage cycle in every media form possible until the company shuts down. maybe in the ultimate universe i could see spideytorch working out but it literally exploded. rip gay emo 1610 johnny but we need to move on. i'm sorry everyone. ummmm everything about the "stalker tim" thing. like no he did not follow batman and robin around with a camera for 5 years. janet and jack didn't send him to school at arkham ok he was not able to escape every weekend and go downtown in gotham at 3am. but also i have seen people be very adamant that tim did not stalk batman and robin until jason died (which like. if he hadn't followed anything about batman and robin in that period, how would he know how much more violent bruce was getting or that robin had changed hands?) and that's not true. he was stalking them neil josten style. i want to see his creepy stalker binder full of newspaper clippings. from actual newspapers. like a psychopath

9. worst part of canon

cassie sandsmark's stupid fucking costume for the last 20 years. i would suffer through tom king's writing just to see her in a normal outfit i'm dead fucking serious. i'd buy the fucking issue. her ugly ass britney spearsification twig arms tt2003 redesign deals me actual psychic damage when i have to look at it (IT WAS SO OOC and johns' justification was so misogynistic. what if i kms) and every time i have to see cassie's stupid fucking impractical little girl eight-year-old-in-2011 outfit from rebirth i want to die. there's this one panel i saw that i cannot find where diana, donna, and yara are walking in their really beautiful, regal armour, looking like warriors, ready for battle, and then cassie is next to them in her skort. it's so embarrassing… someone please free my girl. actually free her from everything originating in tt2003 she deserves so much better
