Rolling Stone Magazine Top 200 Singers - The Omissions List
Once in awhile, I’ll do a music themed blog post and boy do I have a post for you. Rolling Stone Magazine opens 2023 with a list that no one asked for. Their 200 Singers list is an all time low for the once flourishing magazine. When you include auto-tuned singers like Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ariana Grande, Lana Del Ray and dull as dishwater singers (again, my opinion) like Morrissey, Courtney Love, Michael Stipe, Bono, Bruce Springsteen and Eddie Vedder, you lose credibility in my book. Here are the singers of different backgrounds, genres, and vocalizations (in alphabetical order) that Rolling Stone failed to include on their inept list:

Top 5 dgm characters 👀
Top 5 favourite D.Gray-Man characters let’s GOOOOOOO 💖
1. Howard Link
I think we all know Link is my favourite ANDHSJSJDJ idk, I didn’t care for him in the beginning but as he grew to be more conflicted about his allegiances to Lvellie and as he became (possibly reluctant) friends with Allen, the more endearing I found him. I’m really intrigued by his character and I’m excited to see where his story arc goes. I also love a repressed stick in the mud, I want to get under his skin so bad LMAO.
2. Lavi
Please let something good happen to this man, universe I am begging you. This extends to Link a bit too, but I love a character that is duty bound to something but their heart starts to pull them in a different direction. I also love a character who hides their inner turmoil under a fun-loving persona (or at least who hams up that part of themselves, since part of Lavi’s internal struggle is no longer knowing where he ends and the persona begins.) He is silly and a lil fucked up and has terrible boundaries but loves his friends. Lavi Bookman Jr. I want to study you under a microscope.
3. Johnny Gill
JOHNNY!!! He is such a ray of sunshine, I love a lil guy who believes that there is still good in the world, and who loves his friends and is willing to stick with them till the end. I love that he’s been a part of the focus for the past arc, he brings a lot of light and heart to a series that can be pretty tragic. I want to give him many forehead kisses.
4. Allen Walker
I want to shake him like a tree. ALLEN. Allen. You are so young you do not have to do everything yourself. Let your friends get to be your friends, let them take care of you let them see your silly side let them get to know you!!! They love you so much waahhh. I want to grab him like that scene in Young Frankenstein and go YOU! ARE! GOOD! You’re a GOOD BOY!!! He’s my clown son, my sweet cheese, my rotten soldier. I want to pinch his cheeks and mess up his hair.
5. Komui Lee
He’s a wonderful balance of silly and serious. He tries to do his best for his family and for his comrades, but he is constantly put between a rock and a hard place and sometimes he has no good options (sometimes there’s no good decisions, just decisions.) Also I’m a sucker for sibling dynamics. When the Order was being attacked, Komui and Lenalee’s arc through those chapters was really moving to me. I want to help him blow off work, spend an afternoon with him and Jerry gossiping over coffee.
There are other characters I was rotating around for 5th place: mostly Lenalee, but also Miranda, Reever, and Wisely. Some other honourable mentions are Marie, Teidoll, Kanda and Alma. I’ve listed way too many characters now, and I spent way too much time thinking about this— but it was very fun, thank you!!!💕💖💕

Prime Video is set to premiere its crime thriller series "Cross," led by Aldis Hodge, on November 14. The series, based on James Patterson’s bestselling Alex Cross novels, has already secured a second season ahead of its debut.
Led by Aldis Hodge in the role of Alex Cross, the detective and forensic psychologist, who’s uniquely capable of digging into the minds of killers and victims in order to identify and catch them. A doting father and family man, Cross is single-minded to the point of obsession when he hunts killers. He is desperate for love, but his wife’s murder has left him too damaged to receive it. ‘Cross’ aims to delve deeply into the intricate world of Patterson’s beloved character.
The first season’s cast includes Isaiah Mustafa, Ryan Eggold, Karen LeBlanc, Melody Hurd, Alona Tal, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Jennifer Wigmore, Samantha Walkes, Johnny Ray Gill, Eloise Mumford, Sharon Taylor, and Siobhan Murphy. Hodge not only stars but also takes on a producer role, adding another layer of depth to his involvement in the project.

We had the pleasure of interviewing BOWEN * YOUNG LIVE from The Twisted Wool Lounge at the Historic Woolworth Theatre in Nashville! Most partners, in theory, will promise the world to keep each other safe and sound, but rarely is their vow necessary in everyday practice. However, when husband and wife duo BOWEN * YOUNG —singer/songwriters Clare Bowen and Brandon Robert Young—found themselves in the midst of a terrifying home invasion, the pair stared down the prospect of being separated, or worse, during a very real situation. Just two days later, without sleep and lacking creativity, BOWEN * YOUNG sat down with their friend and producer Sean McConnell and shared what they’d just been through. After several hours, the glimmer of an idea took hold of Bowen, just as McConnell picked up a guitar and said, “What if it goes a little something like this?” In less than an hour, the chilling story had been shaped into a song, and “Dangerous Love” was born. “Somewhere, deep in the conversation, Clare offered up an idea that was perfectly beautiful in the moment, revolving around the most harrowing part of the whole event,” remembers Young. “...The prospect of one of us being taken away from the other, just because one cruel individual decided it should be so.” The end result is a beautifully dark love song; an ode to just how far true-lovers are willing to go for each other. “Each time we play it is cathartic and healing,” says Young. “Each time we play it we love each other a little bit more. This event was just one part of our story, but it affected us deeply, and the trauma therapy we’ve done to recover has been one of the best gifts we could have given ourselves and each other. We can’t undo what was done to us, but we can, through spreading awareness of how important it is to take care of your mental health, strive to turn that individual’s cruelty into another person’s healing.” More About BOWEN * YOUNG: Bowen Young’s timeless debut record created by Clare Bowen and husband Brandon Robert Young is a multi-sensory feast. The music, produced by Sean McConnell, invokes themes painted by the duo’s powerfully authentic lyrics and hypnotic harmonies. Clare, the charismatic actress who played Scarlett O’Connor in the popular show Nashville, is known as a ray of sunshine around the world. She is an empath who leads with her heart, able to communicate and translate emotions whether on stage or screen. Born in rural Australia, she moved to Music City in 2012 for the Nashville role and immediately earned respect from the city’s musical leaders. She has performed with artists such as Vince Gill and Zac Brown Band, working with Grammy Award-winning producers/songwriters T-Bone Burnett, Colin Linden, and Buddy Miller, who became her mentors. She toured her eponymous album for sold-out crowds with Brandon in Germany, Australia, the US, and the UK. The pair also earned a coveted spot on Sugarland’s popular “Still the Same Tour” and toured live with the Nashville cast, selling out London’s O2 Arena. Brandon, who began singing at age five under the gentle guidance of his mother, had a very different upbringing and path to Nashville. In 2000, he moved from Enfield, CT, to Nashville, where he taught himself to play guitar. He worked as a courier during the day and spent his nights filling empty composition books with song after song. He spent a decade touring with music legend John Hiatt, first as percussionist and background vocalist and eventually becoming one-third of The John Hiatt Trio. He worked on three of the famed artist’s albums, the last of which was nominated for a Grammy in the Americana category. Brandon has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning artists Emmylou Harris, Colin Linden, and Mikky Ekko. Young was also invited by John Carter Cash to finish one of his father’s unpublished works for Johnny Cash Forever Words. Brandon’s music has been heard in shows such as Shameless, A Million Little Things, and Nashville. We want to hear from you! Favorite Episodes of "UNDERGROUND" (2016-2017)
Tumblr media
Below is a list of my favorite episodes from the WGN series, "UNDERGROUND". Created by Misha Green and Joe Pokaski, the series stars Jurnee Smollett and Aldis Hodge:
Tumblr media
1. (1.05) "Run & Gun" - The attempt by the escapees from the Macon plantation to catch a northbound train out of the state is complicated at every turn; while Tom and Susanna Macon have the remaining slaves - especially Pearly Mae, who was captured while trying to run - questioned about their plans.
Tumblr media
2. (1.04) "Firefly" - A notorious slave hunter named August Pullman and his son Ben track Noah and Rosalee, following their escape from the Macon plantation at the end of the previous episode. The other slaves involved in Noah's plot contemplate running, as well. Meanwhile, Ohio abolitionists John and Elizabeth Hawkes face a lethal predicament, when one of the runaways they are sheltering turns hostile.
Tumblr media
3. (2.03) "Ache" - Now an Underground Railroad conductor, Rosalee struggles to evade Patty Canon's slave catching band. Her mother Ernestine is haunted by her past, while adjusting to her new role as a field hand on a South Carolina Sea Island plantation.
Tumblr media
4. (1.09) "Black & Blue" - Rosalee, is captured in a small Kentucky town and held at a pig slaughterhouse, while fellow escapees Noah and Cato plot to rescue her.  John Hawkes (who is also Tom Mason's brother) learns of his wife Elizabeth's reckless action to save the orphaned escapee Boo from her ex-fiancé and U.S. Federal Marshal Kyle Risdin.
Tumblr media
5. (1.01) "The Macon 7" - In the series premiere, Noah begins to plot an escape from the Macon plantation to the Ohio River and free states. He contemplates on choosing which slaves to be included in his plan, while dealing with a hostile Cato, who also happens to be one of the plantation’s field drivers.
Tumblr media
Honorable Mention: (2.08) "Auld Acquaintance" - When Rosalee's plan to rescue her younger brother James from the Macon plantation fails in the previous episode, (2.07) "28", fellow Macon 7 fugitive Noah struggles to form a new plan to save both sister and brother. Ernestine's attempt to escape from the South Carolina plantation is thwarted by August, whose release had been arranged by Patty Canon.

OWN:  Oprah Winfrey Network announced today that it has acquired the critically acclaimed historical drama “Underground” to air beginning Tuesday, January 5 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.  The dramatic series from Sony Pictures Television will have a revitalized presentation on OWN, with newly filmed episodic introductions by cast members, never-before-seen behind the scenes footage and more.
Tumblr media
Ummmm ... I never thought this day would come. I am actually really shocked. Maybe this will lead to it being reprised one day.
The Series Summary: In 1857, a restless slave named Noah organizes a small team of fellow slaves on the Macon plantation outside Atlanta, and puts together a plan to run for their lives — 600 dangerous miles North — to freedom. The odds of success are slim; the path to freedom’s terrain is unforgiving, and Tom, their politically ambitious owner will surely kill anyone attempting to run. For those who make it off the plantation, the risks and uncertainties multiply. They leave family behind to pay for their sins, as they face danger and death at every turn. They’re aided along the way by an abolitionist couple in Ohio, new to running a station on the Underground, unprepared for the havoc it will wreak with their personal lives, while they evade a ruthless slave catcher hell-bent on bringing them back, dead or alive.
