āKeeping the internet open is critical for us. It powers social movements, and provides a global platform for people of color, LGBTQ folks and the most marginalized communities to tell their own stories, run their own businesses and route around powerful gatekeepers.āāCandace Clement, Free Press Action Fund Campaign Director via @fight4futureā
Starting today, June 11, U.S. internet providers will be legally allowed to censor and block websites and apps, and force you to pay extra fees to to access your favorite places online. Your internet sanctuaries, the communities you are part of, the ones you have help build up, could be decimated.
Will it happen today? No. Next week? Probably not. The changes will not be swift. They will come piece by piece. A slow, tempered death to the free and open internet we love.
It doesnāt have to be this way. You can still make a difference, Tumblr. We need the House of Representatives to sign a discharge petition in support of the Congressional Review Act that would force a vote on the floor.

Go, go, go, go. We know you have that passion in you. Weāre fighting right alongside you.
1. Believing negative, unproductive and self-defeating thoughts. These include thoughts like āI could never ā¦ Iām not good enough to ā¦ I donāt deserve to ā¦ Iām useless at ā¦ā
2. Blaming others. Itās true that other people can have a huge affect on what happens to us, and where we are in life. But we give them too much power if we let them set our course, and see ourselves as victims, and act like weāve no power.
3. Taking ourselves too seriously. Itās important to work hard and to have integrity ā but we also have to laugh and enjoy ourselves as well. Also, decide to let things go, and put up with some mistakes. Youāre not a perfect person and, the truth is - thatās OK!
4. Being afraid to take some risks or to live close to the edge. To have an interesting life you must leave your comfort zone and say āyesā to some new chances and opportunities. It will broaden your perspective, reduce anxiety, and provide you with new options and possibilities.
5. Being afraid of change. It doesnāt take much effort to stick with what you know. The unknown can seem daunting as we donāt know where that leads! But we grow as individuals and lead a richer life if we learn to accept changes, instead of being scared.
Celebrate Library Workers Day by showing your appreciation for staff members working in libraries across New York City. Send a message now to the Mayor and City Council to tell them how important libraries are, and that libraries are for everyone!
āTodayās revolutionaries need to reimagine what revolution means ā¢ The best way to make a change on institutional issues in our modern world is to reimagine ourselves ā¢ We need to see young people as the solution and not part of the problems ā¢ reimagining education means relating to our children in a more human way ā¢ the arts and artists play a crucial role in transforming their communities and their world ā¢ cultural change precedes political changeā #GraceLeeBoggs gems // #reimagineeducation #digitalcollage #revolution #evolution (at Leimert Park, Los Angeles)
