Johnny and Kitty brainrot goes brrrr

Anyways, something I've just noticed: In their debut episode, Kitty has to stay in the Ghost Zone, while Johnny has to find a girl whom she can possess. In other wirds, Kitty sends her boyfriend to actively look for other women to woo.

In later episodes, it turns out that that's something Johnny already does. She breaks up with him for him looking at living girls, obviously hurty by his cheating, but at the end of the day, they get together again, and it's implied that this happens regularly.

And yet, during "13", still Kitty trusts Johnny to bring her back. She trusts him not to run off with some human girl, leaving her back in the Ghost Zone all alone. And Johnny does do his job, even asking Kitty for input for whether she's ok with possessing Jazz. Never does he make eyes at another girl, or imply that he sees Kitty in Jazz's body as an "upgrade".

Idk. I just love that they have this on-off relationship, but at the end are still loyal to each other. It's kinda really cute, in a messed up way.

Danny blinks confusedly “How do you not know your own junior status?” he asks.

Johnny shrugs, wincing when the action irritates his new wounds “I formed in the 'Zone as a baby. Whatever life I had was cut real short.” he answers “Picked the name 'Johnny' for myself 'cuz I just kinda..” he gestures vaguely “vibed with it.”

“Oookay..” Danny drawls out, reaching out a blue glowing hand in a silent offer to ice over the injuries, which Johnny quietly accepts “So, you don't know why anyone would wanna kidnap you for being your dad's kid then?”

The question earns him a shake of the head from the unlucky ghost “Not a damn clue.”

“Great.” Danny states flatly “A mystery with no clues. Those are always fun. Nothing but a name and the knowledge that more assholes are gonna be coming after you at some point.” he finishes up his ice job and Kitty pokes her head into his view.

“Can I get some'a that?” she asks, pointing to her broken, roughly reset, and bleeding nose, the ectoplasmic blood looking more like glowing snot.

“Yeah, sure.” Danny obliges, setting his fingers against it for a moment.

“Thanks.” Kitty chirps once the Halfa removes his hand from the sturdy sheet of ice. She then looks over at her boyfriend and cocks her head at his contemplative staring off into the distance “Whatcha thinking, Johnny?” she prompts.

“If..” the biker ghost starts hesitantly “If this guy is popular enough that people are wanting to kidnap me for apparently being his kid, there might be something written about him.”

“You wanna see if Ghost Writer's got something in his library?” Kitty asks, earning a nod in response.

“Maybe he'll also have something about whatever that guy and his pets were.” Danny suggests “I'm not entirely convinced the Thermos not working on him was just 'cuz of the ecto-air, and everything about him just screamed 'demon'. Are demons a thing?”

The pair shrugs helplessly.

“Either way,” Kitty starts “creature identification is more Skulker's area of expertise.”

“Also mechanics.” Johnny points out, patting his beaten up bike like he's comforting an injured animal “Which I could use right now, so I say we go to him first.”

“You would.” Kitty rolls her eyes.

“Hey, if we know what they were, it might help us in looking up the old man.” Johnny reasons “Kill two birds with one stone.”

Kitty sounds out a sigh “Fine.”

“Sounds like a plan.” Danny concurs hesitantly “Guess you guys'll be going to do that, then?”

“You're not coming with?” Johnny asks, quirking a brow at the Halfa “Done helping out now that the fighting's done?”

“I'm still willing to make sure you don't get got.” Danny assures “I'd just rather not have to deal with the tin can trying to skin me, or discount Edgar Alan Poe writing me into another book if I can help it.”

“That's fair.” Johnny concedes “They'd probably wanna do that over helping us anyway.” he then slips his ring off his finger and hands it over to the half-ghost “Take my ring, I can call you if we run into any trouble.”

“Smart call.” Danny chirps, taking the jewelry piece “See 'ya around, then.”

With that, they head off in basically opposite directions, Danny back towards his home, and Johnny, Kitty & Shadow towards Skulker's Island, Kitty snatching the maybe-demon guy's dislodged tooth out of the air along the way.

Johnny lands his bike in front of the tooth gap that serves as Skulker's front doorway, wincing when it makes a noise that not even a ghost motorcycle should make.

He and Kitty hop off and step up to the door, through which they can hear the muffled sound of mechanical engineering.

The biker ghost knocks his fist against the wooden barrier hopefully loud enough to be heard over the noise, which does stop after a moment.

The door is shortly opened by the mech-suited hunter himself, who glowers down at the pair.

“Ember's not here.” he informs “Also, girl's night isn't for another week.”

“We came to talk with you, actually.” Kitty corrects, holding up the tooth for him to see “Some freaky-looking asshole and his pets attacked us and tried to drag Johnny into some other dimension.” she elaborates as Skulker takes the fang and begins examining it “We were hoping you could tell us what kinda things they were?”

“And also to maybe help fix up my bike.” Johnny adds, nodding at the battered vehicle. One of it's smaller headlights falls off and crashes to the ground, earning another wince from it's owner.

Skulker hums, looking from the tooth to the bike. He walks past the couple towards it to look over the claw marks gouged into it.

He gives a sniff and grunts “Brimstone.” he identifies, then turns to look at the pair “This was demons.”

“Shit.” Kitty curses, while Johnny grips his arms right under the ice patches “Was hoping those weren't an actual thing.”

“Yeah, well, they are.” the hunter states, crossing his arms “And just what did you do to piss one of them off?”

“Was born to the wrong guy.” Johnny answers, rubbing his thumbs against the ice “Apparently my.. dad - ancients, that's weird to say - is someone that a lot of demons are interested in 'staking a claim' on the son of.”

“Firstborn?” Skulker asks.

“Uh, yeah.” Johnny confirms, just barely remembering that little detail.

“Figures.” the mech-suited ghost huffs “Fuckers have a whole thing about those. Love getting people to sell them off or sacrifice 'em.”

Johnny's mouth presses into a thin line at that information.

“And, uh..” Kitty probes hesitantly “What do they usually do with those kids?”

“Nothing good.” Skulker replies grimly “Anything from ripping their souls to shreds and using the pieces as bits of currency..” Johnny shrinks in on himself, crossing his arms over his chest - his Core - protectively “To making them into mindlessly obedient slaves.”

The whole trio stares up at Skulker in horror, Kitty and Shadow each latched onto one of Johnny's arms.

Skulker sounds out a sigh “Come on.” he grunts, scooping the bike(and it's dislodged light) up into his arms “Let's see about getting this fixed up, and getting you two some demon protections.” with that, he marches past the three back into the stone skull that is his home and begins making his way towards his workshop.

They trail behind him, silently processing just what kind of deep shit they're in.

Kitty rests her head on Johnny's shoulder. Johnny leans his head against the top of hers. His Shadow nuzzles the other side of his head.

“There we go.” Skulker announces, shutting off the welding torch and stepping back to watch the glowing lines of the freshly-welded rune cool down “One decently demon-proofed motorcycle.”

“Great.” Johnny says, idly fiddling with the new piece of jewelry around his wrist.

“Sounds like we're about done here, then.” Kitty states, seeming ready to leave. She looks over at her boyfriend and notices him looking rather contemplative “..Unless there's something else you think we need.”

“Actually..” the unlucky ghost starts hesitantly, looking up at Skulker “Do you happen to have, like, some kinda blood relation tracker, or something?”

Kitty tilts her head incredulously “You wanna actually go looking for your dad?” she asks, earning a confirming nod and hum in response “The one who potentially sold-slash-sacrificed you to literal demons?!” she stresses.

“That's pretty unlikely,” Skulker informs “considering he ended up here instead of hell.”

“But not impossible.” Kitty points out.

“I guess?” the hunter ghost concedes uncertainly.

“Either way;” Johnny pipes up, drawing the pair's attention back to him “I'm going after him. If he did sell-slash-sacrifice me, I'll break his face. If he didn't, I'll see about wrangling some child support out of him.”

Kitty sounds out a dramatic sigh “Fine.” she yields, crossing her arms “Guess I'll come help.”

Johnny smiles appreciably “Thanks, love.” he acknowledges before shifting his gaze back to Skulker “So, you got anything?”

“I might have something I'm willing to part with..” the mech-suited ghost replies, theatrically examining his non-existent fingernails “For the right price.”

“Aw, c'mon.” Johnny whines “No more freebies?”

“My girlfriend and I may like you enough for me to lend a patch job and some annihilation preventative measures..” Skulker explains “But help with personal stuff is gonna cost you.”

The biker ghost sounds out an exasperated sigh “What do you want?” he asks.

“I noticed you traded your ring for some of the half-breed's ice.” Skulker hints with a quirked brow.

“Yeah, he's kind of agreed to play bodyguard for me right now.” Johnny informs “So I'd prefer him to keep his skin for the time being.”

“Fine, but then you're not getting the best tracker.” Skulker states “How about an eyeball?”

Johnny grimaces “Doubt he'd be willing to part with one of those.” he replies “I could probably knock out a tooth, though.”

Skulker grunts “It'll do.” he concedes.

“S'a deal, then.” Johnny declares, trotting over to and grabbing his bike “Be back with your payment later, mate.” with that he wheels the vehicle out of the skull-shaped dwelling, Kitty following close behind.

Once outside, they hop on and drive off through the ectoplasmic air, pointedly ignoring the sounds of several mechanical somethings spontaneously breaking apart.

“THIRTEEN!!!” Skulker's enraged voice shouts after them, much to the amusement of Johnny's Shadow.

The unlucky couple walks through the doors into the library manor and up to Ghost Writer's circular computer setup.

“Hey, G-Dubs.” Johnny greets at the same time Kitty gives a “Hi, 'Write.”

“Johnny. Kitty.” the librarian ghost addresses formally, not even glancing up from his screens.

“How goes the community service?” Johnny asks conversationally.

“It's.. going.” is the answer Ghost Writer settles on “I take it you're not here for your usual reading time?”

“Nope.” Kitty replies “We're looking for information on someone.”

“Bloke by the name of Johnathan Constantine.” the biker ghost elaborates “Has some sorta connection with demons.”

“Demons?!” Ghost Writer balks at the pair “Tell me you're not trying to get involved with those savages?!”

“We'd love to not be.” Kitty grumbles “But the bastards aren't giving us a choice; they've already tried kidnapping Johnny for apparently being this guy's son.”

Ghost Writer blinks in surprise and looks over at Johnny “You're a junior?” he asks.

“Shut up.” Johnny snips “Do you have any info or not?”

“Iii just might actually..” the librarian replies, beginning to type away at his keyboards “What book am I thinking of..?” he continues muttering to himself as he scans through the scrolling text on his screens, looking for something in particular “Ah! This one!” he eventually declares, tapping at a book title.

“Care to share with the class?” Johnny asks.

“There's a Constantine family line that's rather infamous in occult circles.” Ghost Writer informs.

A book flies in and hovers just over the keyboard between the unlucky couple and Ghost Writer, briefly allowing them to see that it's titled 'Notorious Magical Bloodlines' before the librarian opens it up. It's pages rapidly flip one after the other for a moment before a section of pages separates from the book and begin to float around in the air.

Several of the pages depict illustrations of various people who seem to be having a grand old time causing some kind of shenaniganery or another.

The chapter introductory page meanwhile is decorated with a tree behind the words 'Constantine - Lineage of the-'

“'Laughing Magicians'?” Johnny reads aloud incredulously “You tryna' tell me I come from a long line of bleedin' magic clowns or some shit?”

Ghost Writer snorts amusedly “Oh, wouldn't that be something?” he chuckles “But, no - they're called that because their favorite hobby seems to be rebuking and outsmarting various supernatural entities, from spirits to demons and even gods.”

Johnny glances back over at the assorted depictions of his maybe ancestors messing with men and monsters alike.

“Okay, maybe not the lamest inheritance.” he admits.

“They're also known to bring about misfortune wherever they go,” the librarian ghost adds on “and bad luck to whoever they interact with.”

“Ah.” the biker nods “I see why you'd suspect one of them to be our guy.”

“Which one specifically, though?” Kitty chimes in.

Ghost Writer picks out each page with the name 'Johnathan' on it, quickly notes the three dates marking their births, deaths, and Endings, and dismisses them, before coming to one page in particular.

“Seems like your best bet would be the currently living one.” he informs, shifting the illustration page for the pair to see.

Said page depicts a blonde man in a trench coat seemingly surrounded by flames that cast harsh shadows over much of his frontside, the only visible facial features being three crescent moon shapes representing his eyes and mouth in a cartoonishly jovial expression. In one hand, he holds a fanned out batch of playing cards, while the other is surrounded by swirling, burning, crackling colors, which the two can only assume to be a representation of magic.

Ghost Writer then 'ooh's at something on one of the more text-filled pages “And you'll be happy to hear that he also holds the title of 'Hellblazer'.” he reports.

“Went from a goofy title to a flippen' badass one.” Johnny remarks “So, any hints on where to find this guy?”

Ghost Writer drags out a hum as he scans through the pages “Says here he works as an occult detective..” he eventually answers “Aaand, that seems to be about it, I'm afraid. Which; not too surprising, considering all the powerful enemies he's made, he's likely had to take precautions against being easily found.”

“Bollocks.” Johnny curses disappointedly, setting his hands on his hips.

“It's better than nothing.” Kitty points out.

The biker ghost sounds out a sigh “I guess.” he concedes.

“I can keep looking, if you really want.” Ghost Writer offers.

“You could..” Johnny agrees hesitantly “Though, I'm not sure I'll be hanging around the area for much longer.”

The librarian ghost lets out another hum “Might I at least loan you some of the books on demons available?” he proposes, tapping at his keyboards again and bringing up a rather short list of said books “Granted, it's not a lot, but the more you know about what you're up against, the better.”

“Yeah, that'd probably be good.” Johnny replies.

Ghost Writer closes the Notorious Magical Bloodlines book, the floating pages slipping back into their places, then calls forth the handful of books from the list and goes through the process of signing them out to Johnny for the time being.

Once that's done with, he hands the ledgers over to the biker ghost, who tucks them all into the hammerspace of his jacket.

“Thanks, G-Dubs.” he chirps.

Ghost Writer nods “I'd bid you good luck, 13, but, well..” he trails off, glancing down at the unnaturally dark Shadow laying ever-so innocently on the ground.

“Appreciate the sentiment, bruv.” Johnny says, giving the librarian ghost a two-fingered salute as he turns and begins walking towards the door.

Kitty trails after him “Later, 'Write.” she bids with a wave, which Ghost Writer returns.

The library doors close behind the unlucky couple with a thunk and a click, followed by the sound of several bookshelves' worth of books crashing to the ground, which is then followed by Ghost Writer's voice loudly shouting “JOHNNY!!!”

The pair quickly jump onto Johnny's bike and zoom away, his Shadow roiling with something akin to laughter.

“Let me see if I've got this right;” Jazz starts incredulously, pointing at the male half of the unlucky couple “You want to take my little brother on an indeterminately long road trip to protect you from actual demons while you track down your dad?”

“That is pretty much what I just said, yes.” Johnny confirms.

“Yeah, that's kind of a tall order, dude.” Danny says, scratching at the side of his head “Even without the whole 'actual demons' thing; I can't exactly just up and leave town with a couple of ghosts. My parents would freak!”

“Well, I still need your help fighting off the bloody things.” Johnny argues, gesturing with an anti-demon charm decorated arm “The stuff mr. 'likes a challenging hunt' gave us can only do so much.”

Danny sighs and rubs at the bridge of his nose “Alright, I.. I'm gonna need some time to figure out a game plan.” he grumbles “In the meantime, and also after that time, for however long you two are gonna be hanging around me; you'd better not cause any trouble.”

“Fiiine.” the pair grouse out simultaneously.

“We won't go stirring up shit.” Kitty assures.

Jazz quirks a brow “I'm sensing a 'but'.” she says.

“Yeahhh,” Johnny drawls out, scratching at the back of his head sheepishly “I can't exactly promise nothing bad won't happen because of me, what with my whole thing being bad luck.”

As if to illustrate his point, a shelf cracks under the weight of its load, one side dropping down and sending the several objects atop it falling to the floor with a loud series of crashes.

The heap of freshly broken devices sparks and splutters and beeps. A ranged weapon of some sort fires off a shot straight at Danny, who barely has enough time to open his mouth for a startled scream before the projectile impacts his face, sending him crashing to the ground painfully.

“Danny!” Jazz exclaims, rushing to his aid.

The Halfa lets out a pained whine and curse.

“Sorry.” Johnny apologizes, his sympathetic gaze briefly flicking over to the bloody tooth on the floor nearby.

Danny groans as he slowly sits up with Jazz's help, rubbing at his sore face “I'm already regretting this.” he mutters.

“Worthless wretch.”

The demon whimpers as he's dragged across the ground by his wrists.

“Can't even catch one brat.”

He's roughly propped up against a block of stone that serves as a table.

“No matter..”

A crystal ball stand is set onto the table.

“He can't hide forever.”

The demon's wrists are grabbed again and the ectoplasmic blood is scraped off his fingers into the stand's bowl.

“He's only delayed the inevitable.”

The crystal ball is set into it's bloodied place and given a few taps, causing colorful smoke to form and begin swirling about within.

It's not the best of tracking spells, but it'll serve the bounty hunters well enough.

The arch demon sets his hands atop the stone table on either side of the crystal ball and stares down at it.

“Let the hunt begin.”

Johnny 13’s core is one of John Constantine’s sold-off soul fragments, which somehow - whether by it’s own volition or not - got away from it’s owner and made a whole new unlife for himself.

Reading your Hamilton-inspired DPxDC posts gave me a wild thought to the tunes of "The Schuyler Sisters":

Redeemed Vlad being the Regent for Danny, and it's Jazz, Danny and Ellie out in town (Dan is the Army General and on duty today). Jazz looking incredibly bored, Ellie the bratty little sister with the zoomies, and Danny, the one who doesn't even bother looking the least bit regal. Like, Jazz and Ellie both look like princesses, and Danny is their commoner cousin or something.

It's important to me that you know I picture Danny, in Infinite Realms high society, as a sort of barbarian prince that walked into the court, refused to leave, and got adopted by the elderly Advisor (Clockwork) who's ruled in the lost king's stead with a sharp gaze and balanced hand.

Young people love him, because he's just as likely to watch you brawl it out on the streets, as he is to take off the cape and breastplate, roll up his sleeves, and immediately come in swinging.

That's how they bond, and why most of the Ghosts that came through the Fenton Portal were so eager to throw hands.

And here's the scene that my mind is very visibly picturing:

Jazz and Ellie in a Library, Jazz looking for books for her thesis in the Living World and Ellie picking up more comics. Danny's outside enjoying the nice spring-like breeze, and then Johnny 13 leans against the wall to flirt with him (I headcanon Danny as, in his 20's-30's having A Thing with Johnny and Kitty).

Full on, leaning against the wall, smirk and thumb on the chin flirting, while Danny barely looks like he's paying attention, just rolling his eyes and snorting at something Johnny says to him.

Probably asks him if Kitty even knows he's here...and she's right across the street, watching her idiot absolutely fail to rizz up the other idiot.

Now this is just me building up extra scenes from the previous bit:

Johnny getting the kicked puppy look when Danny slips away from him to go chat up Kitty instead. Like, absolute disaster of a man, his bad girl vibes girlfriend, and the twink who's known them for too long to fall for his charms. Like, to Danny, Johnny is just a little pathetic, and while he might eventually take pity on the guy and flirt back, the game is seeing how much of a fool Johnny likes to make of himself to make him snort and laugh.

To the townsfolk, their soap opera is watching their Darling Prince and how, unlike the stuffy Castle Town manners and double-speak, him and his Badlands friends tend to be very...physically intense and direct in their affections and romantic pursuits. Don't expect to see him receiving any poems or expensive gifts in the mail. No, you're more likely to find him out in town, probably at a bar he SHOULDN'T be in, acting all friendly with the more rough-and-tumble types, taking the friendly insults and answering in kind with the best of them.

Maybe getting handsy with the biker couple, and coming back all ruffled and smiling.

And it sends every court lady all abuzz with gossip and scandalized whispering. Until "Uncle Vlad" proves that this is just how they do things where they come from, by initiating the most cursed and mildly toxic situationship with Spectra. No one can stand seeing these two together. At least the Princeling looks fondly annoyed by the constant flirting of Johnny and Kitty, compared to the sleazy smirking his Regent and his intended always have for each other. Very Cruella de Vil x Lex Luthor vibes, while Danny has Aristocats vibes, Johnny and Kitty both playing Thomas O'Malley in turn.

This is where we could throw in DC.

By which, I mean Tim's Young Justice team find an old tome with a green sticky note shaped like a cog on it. And then you have Bart, Zoomies Personified, Conner yes-and'ing his bad choices, Cassie leaning back to watch this, and Tim pinching his nose, saying fuck it, and joining his friends in summoning a possibly-demon, but damn if the depictions in the book look handsome as fuck.

Plus, you know, he's titled as The Benevolent and Beloved Prince of the Realms. Skating right past the Dethroner of Tyrants and Champion of the Badlands titles. Those sound pretty heroic, right?

Right?

What Danny do they get?

Shirt ripped open, attractively battle-damaged Danny with a glass of ale in hand after yet another friendly brawl?

Decadent beauty dressed for a day out in town?

Danny mid-makeout oth Kitty and/or Johnny?

Personally, I wanna say this is a Danny who looks like he's maybe 28-29, using one of Kitty's tips he stole and Johnny's coat, lounging in fuzzy pyjama pants, being summoned while stressing about what his Thing will be whe he takes the throne.

Every King before had A Thing they did. The first King was a farmer, his successor was a hunter. Pariah, before his madness set in, raised horses (maybe Fright Knight's current horse was raised by Pariah as a gift for his friend).

As Regent, Vlad doesn't need to have A Thing of his own, but the old man became an art connoisseur during his time ruling in Danny's name.

Danny has zero clue what he wants to do, and he should probably be asleep, but he's stressing.

He's been getting questions on what he likes to do, and the rest of his Court like to remind him that, while he's fought all of them, and won against most of them, they've also seen him grow, and saw his embarrassing years, so they're essentially like when your well-meaning grandma asks you if you've already figured out what you wanna study in university.

And now, just as he's about to start pulling his hair out, dressed in stolen boyfriend and girlfriend clothes and his fuzziest pants, these...children summon him.

Well, Danny's always been good at bullshitting his way through Situations. And someone throws out the idea of asking him for knowledge.

"About what?" asks Danny, stealing a pack of the lemon oreos Martian Manhunter keeps in Mount Justice for when it's his turn supervising the Junior team.

And that's how Jazz has to come rescue her brother from a summons he never came back from, and finds him lounging on a beach chair, breathing stars made of ice and snow into existence to teach actual teenagers about Space and physics.

But the time he floats over to her side, Danny has found his Thing. He wants to teach. He's going to be for other kids the kind of teacher he wished he'd always had, and what Mr. Lancer tried to be, for all that the man noticed things a little late.

Maybe he gets summoned more regularly for practice teaching Young Justice? They schedule the summons around Justice League schedules so they don't have to share their new mentor. Sure Martian Manhunter gets brought in in the secret because Danny keeps stealing his lemon oreos when he's there, but he enjoys watching the young man learn and grow more confident in his role as a teacher, so he's got his support.

And then the Justice League main team, while meeting with their children in Young Justice, all get booted into the middle of the Commercial District of Pariah's old Lair, which became Danny's after the succession was established. At which point they have to make nice with the locals and get their bearings.

Only, who comes out of a bar, launched into the ground outside?

Why, Danny, his shirt torn, sleeves rolled up past his elbows. His knuckles are a bit bruised, and his forearms are scratched up.

He's smiling, though, and taunting whatever opponent he's picked a fight with. And out comes Skulker in the newest iteration of his armor.

Now, from the stories Danny tells, Young Justice know their favorite teacher has an interesting past, involving a lot of fighting.

They just weren't ready to see Teach throw down with a man made of metal.

Danny turns to see his little ghostlings, his smile grows wider, sharp teeth on display, and tells them "Sit tight, kiddos. Wanna watch something fun? This is how we do it where I come from!"

Skulker is basically a weapons platform shaped like a man, but Danny has been fighting him bare-handed for years now. In three quick moves, the head pops clean off with a hiss of steam, lands in Danny's hand, and he fishes out Skulker-blob to congratulate him on a good fight.

If you wanna throw in Red Hood too, this is where "Helpless" would kick in, as Jazz comes in to scold Danny for ruining his outfit again. Nit for fighting, Jazz is just as ready to throw down as her siblings, but she always leaves her fights with a pristine outfit, somehow.

And Jason is staring hard.

That's one woman worthy of the title of Goddess, in his opinion, and he's just become a religious man.

He's a little uncomfortable with Danny's willingness to just fight for the sake of fighting and calling it bonding, but now that they've been brought to a sitting room in the castle, in a more private setting with Danny, his siblings, and his friends, he can see that they're all just Like That.

Danny Phantom AU for the League (explanation under the cut)

There's a common (?) idea in the phandom that Sam dyes her hair black (or that her mom bleach her hair from black) and asdfghj that fits so well for Dabi. I can also see him being edgy and wearing eyeliner (he would tightline and you can't convince me otherwise) and eyeshadow to piss off Endeavor. (You can hardly see it, but I promise he has purple eyeshadow under his eyes.) I've been thinking about it and I'm not sure how Natsuo, Fuyumi, and Shoto would fit into this AU. Cousins? Maybe just siblings, and ignore Sam's only child-ness.

LINK (X) ok so I have drawn this before and I stand by Hana as Jazz and Tenko/Tomura as Fenton/Phantom. :)))) Danny's hair in the og art style makes no damn sense. Many an artist has bemoaned it (me included), so I decided to make Shigaraki's also confounding. (it's like??? a mullet???? but the mullet has layers????) Danny having Lichtenberg figure scars has recently had a resurgence in phandom and it's the perfect excuse to keep the scars around Shigaraki's mouth/eyes. (To symbolize the "scary eyes" and ghost sense.) Shigaraki gets to keep Danny's whole "getting new powers every time he needs to" shtick: one - because it's funny and two - it ties into the whole AFO quirk plotline. SPEAKING OF. AFO gets to take Vlad's place :)))) except!!! I think it'd work better if AFO was a "friend" of Tenko's grandmother and that's how he's weaseled his way into the family. No Vlad wanting Maddie and killing Jack subplot. Just AFO up to his usual shenanigans. I'm on the fence about whether or not Dabi would secretly be a kickass gamer (Sam was, but only kept it a secret because of 2000s misogyny about girls playing games.... idk how that'd transfer to Dabi other than Dabi trying to maintain a "too cool for that" image....)

(Hana as Jazz. Jazz loves her brother and tries to support him but is also overbearing and ignores what he says in favor of what she wants. I feel like an older Hana would fit into that well.... not that we know much about Hana, but from what can be gathered I think it'd fit. And Danny wanted a dog! Eventually has Cujo tagging along! Also a very good mirror for Mon and Tenko.)

Tucker! Spinner! my loves!!!! I wasn't sure originally if I wanted Spinner to be a ghost or a human, but as we can see I plopped him in Tucker's role. Because it fits so well. (I still vividly remember the post about "who loves Danny more? Valerie or Sam. the answer: neither, it's Tucker. Savant Par and Spinaraki mimicing the much larger fanbase for Amethyst Ocean and Shigadabi) Also, Spinner getting to connect with Tenko over games (DOOMED) and technology. I imagine that Spinner wears a bandana to cover up his roots showing. I see Tucker as taking special care of his appearance, but I don't see where Spinner's like that, so he gets a lazier option :) Oooooh should I give Spinner glasses? ooooh I bet he'd have glasses, but never want to wear them because they'd make him look nerdy. Anyway, just like Tucker and Danny, Spinner would face his fears to help and support Shigaraki :))))) (crying over his devotion)

Other Characters:

Dash, Paulina, Kwan, and Star? Maybe Uraraka and Toga as Johnny 13 and Kitty? hehehee could be cute. the fights and getting back together and Toga having to blow off steam in the human world? Kwan befriends Sam and Tucker, so maybe Twice would fit into Kwan's role? OH!!! And then have Hawks be Dash. (I don't think anyone has ever shipped Sam and Dash but that's why this is an AU.)

Deku can be Poindexter.... cause bullying (asdfghj yea it sidelines Deku a bit and sticks him in a very minor role and is an easy choice, but!! some fics make Poindexter and Danny kind of friends!! I think that'd be a nice mirror to what Shigaraki and Deku could've been - along with the initial misunderstandings that Poindexter has about Danny mirroring the way that Deku had to learn more about Shigaraki.

Ember? Maybe as Compress.... he has the theatrics DOWN lmao. And Magne as part of the band perhaps? That'd be cute.

Yeah yeah, call me cliche/basic all you want with this being in the OTP rank… but dangit, I just can’t help it after all the fond nostalgia for them I’ve had over the years~💜. A dorky ghostly hero w/ a spunky goth girl, encouraging eachother’s strengths & working through whichever hardships come their way, and by staying so supportive through thick & thin… it allowed for feelings to steadily blossom by the end~ 💚. Was it "perfectly" handled, development-wise? Well, maybe not. Do I wish they could've gotten together sooner so we'd actually see how they'd work as a couple? Absolutely. But all-in-all… writing flaws aside, I can't help but enjoy them anyway~ x3

-Dash x Jazz

Most def one of my more… "controversial" picks for an OTP these days, but hear me out lol. As much of an obnoxious jerk Dash was for most of the show… it always intrigued me alot for how he had that brief crush on Jazz early-on 🤔. Like, the girl wasn't even a popular kid herself from what we've seen in the show (often preferring books to people, half the time)… yet Dash of all people caught a bit of feels for her enough-to invite her to his party? Interesting 👀 Do I think they would've worked as an actual canon ship? …Weeell, most likely no lol. BUT, can't say I'm not a sucker for a good ol' "confident nerd x smug jock" dynamic, esp for the potential of Jazz helping to humble Dash in his place + Dash encouraging Jazz to loosen up more & have fun (away from just being the "responsible" smart one all the time). Hehee~ ;p

-Ghostwriter x Ember

One of my "newer" OTPs as of late, I just love the potential of two artsy-inclined ghosts (Ember w/ her music + Ghostwriter w/ his writing) forging a special bond together~ 💜Whether it's Ember nudging GW out of his comfort zone like the kickass babe she is, GW encouraging more "downtime" moments for Ember at home (whenever the rockstar fame gets too much), and then occasionally annoying everyone with their poetic displays of lovin' when they're out & about together~ -w-

-Jack x Maddie

I mean, this one's a no-brainer to put here lol =P Two happily-married, proud ghost-researchers who work perfectly as a "brains & brawn" duo. Even if there's occasional moments of marital spats (-often from Jack's excitable mishaps 😅 lol), the way they're ultimately always able to find their way back to eachother (even in an AU-timeline where Maddie married Vlad) is just… d'awwww~ ❤️

-Johnny 13 x Kitty

The OG ghost sweethearts whom I'm so sad never seems to feel fully-appreciated by the fandom… even though there's SO much to love about them imho~ The way Johnny was so devoted to bring Kitty into the human world with him (even if it had to involve using Jazz along the way), Kitty's protective rage upon seeing Danny hurt Johnny (despite being mad at him earlier), and the behind-the-scenes element of their VAs being a married couple irl just adds another layer of sweetness to them ngl~ 💚

-Nocturn x Desiree

Two ancient, powerful ghostly spirits keen for chaos and grandeur for themselves… they'd be quite a power couple match the more I've thought of them (+working with their son, Reve). Reminding me alot of Xibalba & La Muerte from "The Book of Life", in a way~ lol ;p

-Walker x Spectra

The stern, crooked ghost warden w/ the cunning shadow lady, if thats not already a recipe for some "steamy" chemistry there~ 👀💚

-Fright Knight x Dorathea

The fiercest ghostly knight with the growing-badass dragon princess spells SO much for beautiful ship chemistry~ :love: With the Fright Knight clearly being a man who values strength & confidence, to have Dorathea around for him to admire and protect (& vice-versa with her own dragon-shifting skills)… just hhhhhhh I NEED it in my life ToT ❤️

-Danielle x Valerie

These two definitely caught my heart ALOT more than I expected these last couple years; from the way Danielle was the key to helping Valerie realize not all ghosts are bad, their moment of teamwork once Danny & Val helped to save her from Vlad, and even that bit of them sneakily scaring Danny at the end was pretty amusing to see~ lol Whether as a strong duo of friends, or something "more" down the line, either way these girls def deserve all the love in the world~ ❤️

-Paulina x Star I will never not be a sucker for a classic "girlboss gfs" ship, and even if Paulina & Star didn't get too much development/focus (outside of being mean girls)… well, they just give me all the feels with how well they click together~ ❤️With Star being one of the few characters Paulina was shown to genuinely care about (to the point of legit crying when Star went missing in "Claw of the Wild"), and the way they're always so doting & sweet when hanging out on the sidelines, how could you not see them potentially getting together~? :3

~DP Loved Ships~

-Desiree x Dorathea

The sneaky chaotic genie with the dutifully kind princess, a pair I think could have loads of potential after all both ladies have been through~ :aww: If it weren't for my attachment to other ships (+Arthur & Reve's characters in my NG), I'd def be down to give 'em more love ngl~ ❤️

-Freakshow x Lydia

While we never really got to know more of the context behind their relationship (if they're just a pair of allies, friends, or something "more"), I enjoyed seeing their chemistry of working together stealthily even after Freakshow lost everything/got further lost-in power. If there ever was a chance to see more of them together, I'd be down for that! ^^

-Kwan x Sam

My overall second-fave Sam ship from the series and one I seem to grow more & more fond of as of late 💜While only really interacting a handful of times, I just love how Sam was able to reach out to Kwan in offering him a chance to hangout (seeming to know that deep down he truly means well, despite all his clumsiness/loyalty to Dash). And Kwan being so dorky and keen to get into Sam's interests was pretty adorb too, so I can just imagine all their fun potential as a "golden retriever x black cat" duo :3 . Sam encouraging him to stand his ground, Kwan helping Sam tone down her temper/stubborn habits, all that jazz~ ;P

-Tucker x Valerie

Ngl, I'm still bummed the show abruptly ended this one before it could fully-flourish… 'cause man they seemed to have such a sweet setup going by "Shades of Gray" 💛. Tucker reaching out to Valerie to cheer her up (even after she lost her popularity/wealth), Valerie (albeit at first using him to get more info on the Fentons) seeming to lowkey enjoy his company the more she hung out with him, and seeing Tuck even going that extra mile to take the fall for Valerie's dad during that ghost accident at the end (which could've really gotten him in trouble)… just, c'mon how could you not find see the ship-potential in that~? :3 While I'm ultimately fine with these two just staying as friends from then-on, I can't help thinking of the "What Ifs?" with them now & then~ ^^

-Valerie x Sam

Again, yet another pair that I feel the fandom's sadly sleeping on… 'cause c'moooon, these girls would be SO fitting as a gf duo together!~ :D Their whole conflict regarding Danny aside, they've got quite a bit in-common in terms of their strong-willed spirits, loyalty to their loved ones, and even while stubborn at times, they've got the drives to try & do the right thing when it all comes down to it~ 👍 As well as having their own lil differences that could help give each girl a better perspective on things (not all popular/preppy kids are bad, not every outcast kid is a “loser", etc.). Ups & downs they may have at times, Val x Sam could def use some more love all-in-all! 💜🧡

-Danny x Valerie

Probably the most popualr Valerie ship in terms of the general fandom, and rewatching the show its not hard to see why! Both having gone from two bickering kids unable to stand eachother, to a ghost & hunter duo having to learn how to work together, and even their brief dating phase/further-truce down the line allowed for some solid development to form imo :3 I may not be too invested in this one compared to other ships I have for them both, but kudos to the fans who try to give them that proper attention the showed failed on (even if just closure-wise) anyway! ^^

-Danielle x Sam

While their interactions all-in-all were a lil brief, I couldn't help getting the cute image out of my head of Dani lowkey getting a puppy crush on Sam at some point~ ;p Nothing too serious or anything, just a nice lil bit of amusing fluff imo.

-Jazz x Sam

They may have had their differences when Jazz first joined the team, but I did find it sweet how well the girls learned to work together by the end of "Girls Night Out" (gave me a bit of Starfire & Raven vibes ngl lol) :3 I may lowkey be a bit more invested in them friendship-wise, but they're still a fun pair either way ^^

-Pandora x Dorathea

Hehe, the Double-Dora ship lmao =P Silly pun-theming aside, I think it'd be cute seeing Doratea be so in awe of Pandora's wisdom, strength & protective heart for her realm. Even if nothing serious forms from there, I think it'd still be sweet~ ^^

-Kwan x Paulina

Set as I am with the Paulina x Star ship, if I had to envision what kind of guy I'd potentially put with her instead… hmmmm, I think her & Kwan could be cute? .3. With his laidback sweetheart nature balancing well against her sassier tendencies, it'd be fun to see how they'd click imo :3

-Kwan x Tucker

Hehe, ngl… it will never not crack me up how Tuck's first instinct of "YOU'LL NEVER REPLACE DANNY, NEVER!" is almost-immediately followed up to these two frolicking through a meadow lol Guess even Tucker couldn't resist the big sweetheart after awhile, d'aww~ ;P

-Jazz x Tucker

A semi-common ship I’ve seen floating around in DP fanfics (mainly as a side ship to DxS), and I’ll admit I can see why it’d appeal. Both are generally smart kids, having helped eachother out here & there on Team Phantom (like the “Frightmare” ep), and the idea of Danny’s bff becoming his future brother-in-law has some cute & funny potential to it lol. On the other hand, though… ehh, part of me feels like it may be a bit too convenient to ship off Tuck w/ Jazz as the only other singles in Team Phantom (lowkey almost akin to Sokka x Toph being commonly shipped alongside Kataang in ATLA-). Not to say its a “bad” ship idea in the grand scheme of things… buuuut idk, I feel like it’d kinda depend on how its written imo .3.

-Wes x Jazz As generally “in-the-middle” I’ve always been to Wes Weston on his own (since he basically just kinda exists to be the “Derpy Hooves” in the DP fandom lol), I’ll admit the fan-content between him & Jazz looked rather cute ^^. Can’t quiiiite put them much higher given Wes’ overall background character-status (so his personality could basically be anything you want… for better or worse lol), but yee .3.

-Technus x Desiree

I seem to semi-regularly spot this around here & there whenever I look up ghost-focused DP ships… which seems like they’d have an interesting “Opposites Attract” angle together, the more I think about it 🤔 Can’t say I’ve ever been that big of a Technus fan tho, hence why this one’s a bit lower-ranked ngl.

-Kwan x Star

One of the other “mainstream” human ships I’ve seen in the DP fandom, mainly shipped through some side ship/NG-related roles. And… I mean, I guess it is a fairly harmless pair for the most part, given they both seemed to genuinely connect well after getting ditched in “Lucky in Love”. But I just… idk, something about them never really intrigued me much to ship them in the longterm :P Not really sure why tbh…

-Sam x Star Saw a couple pieces of them floating around that I'll admit looked cute (esp with their contrasting aesthetics & what-not). Though again, with Star, well… not having a whole lot to her when not with Paulina/the other A-Listers, its kiiinda hard to rank it much higher imo

-Paulina x Tucker

A concept I've only ever seen pop up rarely in the fandom… though, I could potentially see something work here if written right? .3. With Tuck being alot more confident than most "geeks" around him, I'm sure he'd be able to handle Paulina's attitude (which I'm sure in her position, I'm sure she'd probably find a lil refreshing lol), if they ever got the chance to one-on-one bond. Idk, there's still some other ships I tend to prefer more for the both of 'em… but hey, more power to those who wish to explore them anyway! ^^

-Gregor (aka: “Elliot”) x Sam

While I’ll admit seeing Sam’s initial crush on the guy was kinda cute… the fact that he diiiiid turn out to be lying about his goth Hungarian identity by the end (+his sudden jerkiness to Tucker) sadly killed the ship’s chances from there, I’m afraid ^^;. Kudos to some of the rare bits of fan-content I’ve seen exploring their (+Gregor’s) potential a bit more tho… it looks interesting .3.

~DP Neutral Ships~

-Skulker x Ember

One of the more "common" ghost ships ever since the early fandom days… and, not really one that's caught my eye in recent memory 🤷‍♀️ Like, yeah I know they're both fiery punks & became an actual canon thing by the "Girls Night Out" ep… buuuut eh, it just felt a bit too randomly-placed for me to get that many "feels" from them imo. Not to say I'd mind seeing them as a side ship in other DP fanfics or however… just kinda depends on how they're written imo.

-Danny x Star

As much as I'll admit there's some rare bits of fanart that looked a lil cute with them both… ehhhh, again Star's just never seemed to click enough with Danny for me to get more into it (with the most being when she did all his homework to win a beauty pageant… and thats it lol). But thats just me .3.

-Danny x Wes

With how popular Wes is on his own, its not too surprising this one would lowkey become a crackship after awhile. Though… idk, for me it almost feels like a copypaste of Danny x Val's dynamic for most fan-portrayals I've seen of 'em, so I didn't quiiiite stay that interested, I'm afraid .w.;

-Dash x Paulina

Similar case to Kwan x Star in essentially being one of the more “common” human side cast ships (mainly for both of 'em being jerkish popular kids lol). Not a bad idea per-say for a ship concept… buuuut at the same time, just a tad too predictable for me to fully-pair 'em imo.

-Tucker x Danielle Only once or twice I've seen this one shipped, and… I guess I can see some ship potential, kinda? Idk, for some reason its been hard for me to fully-see Danielle with guys lately… dunno why lol

-Tucker x Star

Star may not have been the nicest to him when they briefly hooked up in "Lucky in Love" (on account of Tuck mainly going after her as the "satellite" popular girl lol). I guess I could maaaybe give this one a pass if Star got some more development… tho again, it just depends .3.

-Vlad x Spectra

A fairly common Vlad-focused ship from what I've seen (generally based on their similar aesthetics, in a way?). Seems… alright as a potential pair, but for some reason I just… can't seem to get into it one way or another. Eh… .w.;

~DP Disliked Ships~

-Danny x Dash

“He bullies you ‘cause he liiiiikes you~” has long since grown stale as a shipping trope imo, so I really don’t get why this ship’s semi-popularity lasted as long as it did :/. Like, sure I don't mind the potential of Dash getting redeemed/developed more beyond just a bully… but outside of him hero-worshipping Danny's Phantom half, what else really "is" there to count much for a ship? For me… I just don't see it :/

-Danny x Ember

A pretty popular ship whenever I try to look up Ember content… aaaaand again, not one I've ever been down for much :P. Seems to really mostly appeal to those who think Ember's hot & thus feel like Danny has to have her (+other ghost girls) by-default… which idk, just kept giving me squicky vibes after awhile tbh >>. Not to mention some of the more… "vocal" fans seemingly to also be particularly strong Sam-haters for most of the D/E circles I've stumbled across, aaaaand then it just became even less appealing from there tbh -x-

-Danny x Paulina

A surprising ship I've seen getting steadily popular in recent memory, and… ehhhh as much as I've tried, I just can't bring myself to get into it myself ^^; Again, I'm not at all opposed to Paulina changing her ways & developing better beyond a popular girl role… buuuut with Danny basically doing nothing but awkwardly ogling her looks (+her using him whenever she wants something) for most of the show, like… again, is there anything else to truly "tie" them together, longterm-wise? ^^; Idk, personally if I wanted to pair Danny with a "mean girl-turned-ally" character, I'd rather just stick with Valerie imo.

-Dash x Sam

With how little tolerance Sam has for obnoxious dumbassery, and Dash… well, basically being that in a nutshell lol, I can't say there'd be much of a chance for this one to work imo. Even in a potential one-sided crush situation on Dash's end (and/or Sam's parents maybe pushing for it as an "image"-boost in their rich circles), it just ain't meant to be :P.

-Vlad x Desiree

This dude's basically the embodiment of everything Desiree hates in guys (self-absorbed, greedy, and a creep)… need I say more? lmao

-Paulina x Sam

Again, I've gone over this a few times in the past… buuut as much as I've always yearned to end the "Not like OTHER girls" mantra from way back when, it doesn't automatically make me keen to ship EVERY combo of a girly-girl & alt. tomboy together :/. Not helped by Sam's hurt from Paulina toying with Danny (aka: her best friend) due to one of their petty arguments, aaaaand I can't say I'd ever see this one working outside of maybe a (distant) friendship, once they've grown up a bit better. Ughhh… while I know there's arguably worse ships out there in the grand scheme of things, this ship just always rubbed me the wrong way with how cheaply they've been shipped about in this fandom..😒Mostly ever done as a way to keep Sam away from Danny (and… I guess to just give Tucker something to do when he's not really focused on fanon-wise, either 🤷‍♀️), it fails to take into account just how much Tucker & Sam's differences/attitudes are too fundamentally different to work. From their whole "meats vs. veggies" conflict in the first ep having been the cause of a ghostly mess at their school, to them having to practically always need Danny around to balance their friendship… it just ultimately proves to me that not ALL opposites are meant to attract, I'm afraid >>

The OG Phantom trio from the very beginning, what more can I say about 'em that the show haven't showed enough of? ^^ Even if Tucker x Sam still rubs me the wrong way ship-wise, I still enjoy their overall friendship & teamwork when it comes to supporting Danny & vice-versa. And heck, even if there's a scenario that Danny & Sam don't end up together, I like to think they'd always be the best of friends no matter what~ :3

-Danny/Clockwork

I enjoyed seeing their mentor & student-like dynamic the more they interacted in "The Ultimate Enemy" & "Masters of All Time". While rather trollish to Danny at first, its clear Clockwork means well in wanting to teach Danny a lesson that actions have consequences (no matter how big or small) ^^

-Danny/Danielle/Jazz

A bundle of Fenton siblings that I can't help but find wholesome the more I've rewatched the series~ :) From Danny & Jazz's growing support for one another upon Jazz realizing her lil bro's secret, to Danny learning to lookout for Danielle beyond her being his clone (akin to how a big brother would, in a way ^^), and even though we sadly didn't get the chance for Danielle to meet Jazz (or the other Fentons) before the show ended, I like to think the two girls would get along great either way as (technical) sisters~ :3

-Dark Danny/Danielle/Jazz Even though you could argue Dark Danny (or "Dan" if you prefer) should prob be more considered his "own" character at this point, I just can't help enjoy certain fan-depictions of him maintaining a strong sibling bond with both Jazz and/or Danielle ^^ Guess that brotherly instinct inside Danny would never "fully" go away even while evil… awww ^^

Fighting Style:

Jessie has gotten her powers long before Danny did, so she was able to practice with them and later control them. After Danny got his powers, that's when Jessie showed her powers to him and the two became a ghost fighting team. She does her best to help teach him how to control his powers and teaches him how to fight by using Judo since Jessie learns how to fight in martial arts from her father. Jessie likes to kick and punch, but she finds kicking more powerful than punching. And because she is flexible, kicking is as easy as breathing. She also realized that her dancing can be used to fight her enemies and avoid their attacks, so because of this, she likes close combat than distance combat.

Backstory

Birth:

Jessie was born as the youngest child, and was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Early Life:

Jessie's parents once owned a small ranch with animals such as cows, chickens, sheeps, goats, and horses. Jessie always loves horses for as long as she can remember, her father puts her in a saddle even before she learned how to walk. She loves riding horses so much to the point she even learns how to ride them with and without a horse saddle and reins. She used to watch wrestling with her father since she was 6 or 7 years old, so even though her mother disapproves of this, Jessie continues to watch wrestling shows with her father such as WWE.

Her father was once a judo expert trainer before he met Jessie's mother, who worked at a ranch her whole life, but still found a job at a local office, so he taught Jessie and her sisters how to fight and defend themselves at a young age. Even though the era of Greasers has ended, there are some descendants of the greasers who loves to dress up in clothing like their ancestors, Jessie just so happens to run into a group of them while playing in the park with her family one summer afternoon. Luckly the gang she met are good and begins to hang out with them.

Middle School:

Because of her hanging out with the greasers' descendants, she begins to dress up like them too and had certain rules of the greasers that was appropriate for her and her friends to follow as they grew together as they watched wrestling and like doing sports, even joining some school sports clubs, one of them is a wrestling club which Jessie joined. When she was attending middle school, they attend to the class field trip to a lab that is own by a team of scientists called the Guys in White. Jessie wasn't very excited about it, knowing it'll bored her out of her mind, but little did she know, it was about to change her life forever.

During the tour, Jessie decided to go to the restroom during lunch, but ended up getting lost when she was done, she stumbles upon one of the portals and being born with autism, she got curious and decided to step a little closer to the ghost portal. Unfortunately, one of the employees didn't know she was there when they activated the portal to test it. It caught Jessie by surprise, and before she even had a chance to get away from the portal, the portal testing failed as an exposed circuitry gave her a strong electric shock. She screamed in pain as she was flown back out and landed on her back on the ground, away from the portal. The last thing she heard was her friends calling out her name as she heard footsteps running towards her before she went unconscious.

She woke up in the hospital a day later, and after her awakening, her parents and the school sue the GiW for being careless about a middle schooler getting injured and won the case, causing the GiW to pack up and leave Tulsa. After being clear to leave the hospital a few days later, Jessie discovered that she felt more energetic and as time went on, she discovered she began to have strange powers. They were limited at first which is why Jessie never put much thought into it, such as floating for a short time or making her limbs disappear.

But as she grew older, these powers began to get more prominent, and it was harder for her to keep them under control. Because of this, Jessie had to leave the wrestling club in fear she'll accidentally hurt someone and made up a half lie about wanting to focus more on her classes. Her family and friends noticed something was wrong with her, and Jessie finally admits to them the reason why. One of her best friends, Tatiana, did some research and found out Jessie had gotten ghost powers from the accident, much to their shock. Because of this, Jessie's family and her friends all promised to Jessie that they wouldn’t tell anyone, and with their help, Jessie decided to learn to control her powers, so she wouldn't be found out about them.

However, tragedy stuck in her life when her father became ill with stage 4 kidney cancer, he tried his best to fight back the cancer, but he ended up passing away peacefully in his sleep. It devastated Jessie and her family. What's worse, her mother announced they were moving to a different state due to her losing her job after the building she was working at was caught on fire and destroyed. Jessie didn't want to move away from the life she loves, especially because she doesn't want to leave her friends and all her animals will be sold.

Luckly, one of her aunts and uncles manages to get her mother a new job from the state they were moving to, and since they live in the outskirts of the town she's moving to, all the animals will be sent to live with them instead. Jessie told her gang about the news and while they are sad about her leaving, they all decided to hang out together and throw a party to spend time together one last time. The next day, Jessie says goodbye to her friends after they gave each other their phone numbers, and she left with her mother and sisters to their new home.

High School:

Jessie and her family soon arrived in a town called Amity Park, and Jessie was already homesick, missing her best friends. Jessie spent the first few nights sulking in her new room, unable to get used to the urban atmosphere of her new home. By the time she starts attending high school, Casper High, she immediately caught everyone's attention due to how she was dressed and for her natural beauty. All the boys were smitten by her looks while all the girls were jealous of her, causing Jessie to feel very uncomfortable since she wasn't used to getting all the attention to herself.

Because of this, she was constantly picked on by the popular girls who were jealous of her for getting the attention and wanting her to feel insecure. Jessie, of course, taught by her old friends about some rules of the greasers with their own rules of their gang, fought back until Sam Manson stood up for her. Jessie was very grateful for this, and was later introduced to Sam’s best friends, Danny and Tucker. She was welcomed and fit right into the group with ease, and she was happy she finally made some friends. However, she soon found out that Danny’s parents were ghost hunters, she tried to avoid and stay away from his parents as far away as possible in fear they'll do something to her if they found out her secret.

At some point, Jessie was 100% comfortable around her three friends, although, she never told them her secret. It wasn't until Danny had a lab accident with his parents' ghost portal and gain his own ghost powers. Not too long after the accident, Jessie finally told her friends about her powers. Of course, they were shocked, but they all promise to keep it a secret, and Danny and Jessie worked together to fight the baddies who came out of the now active Fenton Portal as Danny Phantom and Jessie Shadow, although she did manage to befriend some ghosts just for being herself. As time went on, Jessie began to realize that she has a crush on Danny, and it grew stronger as she spends more time with him, she wants to tell him how she feels, but was scared that she might ruin their friendship, so she never said anything. But she does show signs of jealousy when another girl flirts with him, but she tries her best to hide it.

Jessie then noticed Sam begins to have a crush on him too, she didn't want to fight with Sam and lose her friend over a boy, so they both agreed that they would let Danny decide. When Danny gave up his powers, Jessie was disappointed but supported his decision regardless. She caught Sam later rant at Danny about giving up his powers, Jessie hates the way Sam yelled at Danny and feel offended that Sam acted like Danny is the only half ghost that existed besides Vlad. So, when Sam came back inside, Jessie begins to yell at her for what she said to Danny and told her that she still has her ghost powers and was offending at what Sam said earlier, before leaves to go outside to comfort Danny.

In the South Pole, Jessie finds Sam alone with Danny and was surprised to see that Danny walked away from Sam and heading towards her. In the end, Danny fell for Jessie's kind and caring nature and how she was always there for him thick and thin, he didn't care that she has a level 8 autism or that she likes to dress up as a female greaser from the 1950's and 60's. He proved it to her by kissing her that day. Sam was a bit upset that Danny didn’t choose her yet felt happy for both of them.

After Danny and Jessie saved the Earth from the Disasteriod, everything became a paradise for her, Jessie was surprised that Danny started to dress up like a male greaser since Jessie was starting to rub off on him, but she didn't mind. However, in her sophomore year, Jessie learned from a frustrated Sam who snapped at her of how jealous she was over her relationship with Danny after Sam got tired of hearing all the dates she went on with Danny, and how sweet he is with the gifts he got for her and vice versa. Jessie became annoyed at this and questions Sam if she really does love Danny for who he is just like she does, or if she only loves him because of his powers, just like Paulina and the rest of the girls in town and school does.

This triggers Sam into fighting her, which was hauled by one of the teachers and led Sam being suspended since Jessie was avoiding her attacks thanks to her ghost powers. When Tucker saw this and told Danny what happened, he tells Sam that even though he doesn't appreciate her fighting Jessie over his relationship with her, Sam will always have a special place in his heart, and the two girls remain friends, as well as Sam finally moving on from her crush on Danny.

Collage Life:

Jessie and Danny continued to fight ghosts while spending time together on dates, although this became hard for them to go out in public due to their popularity. When they got to senior year, Jessie doesn't know what career she wants when she goes to college, so when she told Danny, Sam and Tucker about this, Danny suggested she should get a career as a singer since she loves to sing.

Jessie was a little hesitant at first but then remembers that she overcame her stage fright after the incident with Ember Mclain and knew she can't become a wrestler since she's not as interested in wrestling anymore as she used to, and fearing she'll accidentally hurt someone if her powers somehow lost control, she thinks that a singing career might be a better choice instead.

Especially seeing how Amity Park doesn't have many ghost attacks as of late and seeing her boyfriend and her friends being supportive, she agrees with the idea. So, after graduation, she told her mother and sisters about what career she actually wants, they accepted her decision. Jessie and her friends and boyfriend all went to the same college together and she chose classes that involves music, singing and dancing.

It was hard for her to hang out with her boyfriend and her friends, but she still manages to make some time to see them while focusing on her studies. To practice more on her singing, she decided to create a music channel and recorded covers of her favorite songs and posted them online and soon gained internet fame. By her second year, she did less covers and began writing and performing her own songs with the help of Danny, Sam and Tucker.

Jessie soon gains the attention of producers of different music companies, and she became nervous as she didn't know what do to, but Danny encouraged her to choose the best one to help her, and so she did and was very excited although wanted to keep her schooling in check and worked on and off with the record company until the following summer, when she released her first single. Her popularity grew even more, her name becoming well known in the city and later around the world. She held off performances until later in her fourth year. She worked on her first album through the year, finally releasing it and having a small tour during spring break.

Of course, she somehow still manages to make time to spend it with her family, her friends and of course, her boyfriend, Danny. She missed spending time with him as he missed her since she was busy with her singing career, and the ghost couple spend their days going on dates or just hanging out in their apartment, cuddling and watching movies or tv shows. There were even talks about them wanting to get married one day, and so, on the day of their college graduation, Danny proposes to her, to which she happily accepts.

Adult Life:

After college, Jessie returned to Amity Park with Danny, Sam and Tucker. Between songwriting and recording, Danny and Jessie planned out their wedding and got married a year later. Soon after, Jessie found out she was pregnant and brought their first-born son into the world, Dallas Jackson Fenton, or Dally for short. Juggling motherhood, fame, and integrating her spare time into the booming business of FentonWorks proved to be tough. She managed to keep her life in balance even if it were by mere threats at some moments. The battles eased up as Danny and his parents worked on ways to add extra security to the portal, even though it worked half the time.

Her fame grew more with time. She was cranking out a new album every year and went on tour during the summer months. Later, she gave birth to their second child, a daughter name Larissa. With managing two kids now, her singing career slowed down as she focused on being a full-time mom for a while. When the kids grew older and became more independent, she began to write and perform again, although not as much as before. With a lot of money stored in the bank at this point, Jessie managed to give herself and her family a comfortable life as she and Danny raised their two kids who both inherited their powers with love and support, but not spoiling them. They watched as their kids follow their footsteps of becoming heroes as Dally Phantom and Lari Shadow.

Jessie is a young Mexican American girl with fair skin, long brown hair and dark brown eyes. She has her hair tied up in a high ponytail with bangs. She also wears a natural smokey eyeshadow, black eyeliner, black mascara, and nude lipstick. She wears a white crop-top with a black leather jacket, a sterling silver decagem pendant long necklace, a timex women's easy reader black and silver leather strap wristwatch on her left wrist, light blue jean ripped pants with a black leather belt and a pair of brown leather cowboy boots embossed with red flames running up the sides and decorated with yellow shooting stars. When she becomes furious, her eyes sometimes flash neon yellow even while in human form.

When she transforms into Jessie Shadow, her hair becomes platinum blonde and braided into a single messy braid, her eyes become glowing neon yellow, her skin becomes tanned, and a faint white glow surrounds her whole body. In this form, her makeup changed, she doesn't have eyeshadow or eyeliner, but still wears black mascara and wears nude pink lipstick. She wears a black shirt and pants set that reveals her midriff with a grey collar, grey belt, and grey elbow high gloves, and grey boots that looks identical as the boots she wears in her human form, except they have no design on them. After "Memory Blank", she wears her logo, a swift gray "J" with an "S" next to it on her chest. Her voice becomes slightly but noticeably resonant as well.

• Jessie got her nickname from her old gang when they decided to give her a nickname.

• It's rare for Jessie to let her hair down in both her human form and ghost form, mostly her human form. The only time she had her hair down was when she's at water parks or when she's wearing dresses, but other than that, she always has her hair up. She does finally let it down when she gets older though.

• Jessie's favorite colors are yellow, black and red. She likes pink, but it's not her favorite color.

• Her favorite flavors are bubblegum and blue raspberry.

• Jessie is considered to be the most popular girl in school for her beauty, and because of this, her beauty rivals Paulina's, making Paulina the second most popular. But Jessie still decides to hang out with Danny, Sam and Tucker instead with the popular kids.

• Because of her natural beauty, all the boys in school flirted with her, and Jessie didn't like it and makes her uncomfortable, knowing they only liked her for her looks. • Jessie grew up watching wrestling as long as she can remember with her father and because of this, she joined the wrestling club in middle school and became an athlete, her first career choice was to become a wrestler, but after she got her ghost powers, she decided to not be a wrestler anymore and changed her career choice to a singer, but she does appear in WWE as a guest.

• During her ghost battles, Jessie does use a little bit of her wrestling moves she learned from her old wrestling club in middle school. Even some wrestling moves from some WWE wrestlers she watched growing up.

• Even though she has a ranch girl lifestyle, Jessie continues to live a greaser girl lifestyle because it's a way to keep her old gang in her heart, despite being miles apart from them.

• Jessie worn cowboy boots for as long as she can remember, she even wears them under a long skirt dress, the only times she doesn't wear cowboy boots and just wear tennis shoes is working out or during P.E class in school. • Jessie has a ghost Kiger Mustang and American Paint mix horse named Seraphina, whom she managed to calm down, become friends with, and later on becomes her master.

• Jessie loves plants due to her mother keeping a few plants in their home. She also likes nature walks in the parks or outside of Amity Park, especially when she needs some time alone.

• Jessie is both a meat eater and a vegetarian.

• Jessie can speak Spanish, she used to speak Spanish a lot from a young age, but starting to speak more English as she grows up. She can still speak Spanish sometimes, just not as much as she used to when she was young. She can also mash up Spanglish.

• Jessie is born with Autism. The level of her disability is 8, which allows her to read and write just fine, but due to her inability to speak to people by herself, she still requires special help and education from the schools she attends, including Casper High. The only ones who knew about her disability are her family and her old gang. Danny, Sam and Tucker learn about her disability later on after befriending her and before Danny got his powers, so they speak up and talk for her when they see she was having a hard time talking to people by herself from time to time.

The first meeting happened more of Jazz being like "Mom, dad, these are my friends. They're...new in the area."

Now, we know Jack is a chill man, but that's still his daughter and he was eyeing Johnny like a hawk to the point Johnny 100% believed he knew he was a ghost

Kitty and Johnny confessed they're dating each other which calmed Jack down a bit

"So, what do you two do?" Asked Maddie which nearly got Kitty and Johnny to chock on their food and drinks as they recalled all they did

Suddenly Johnny looked to Danny and goes, "I actually work part time at the Nasty Burger as a chef. Danny introduced it to me."

Kitty said a half lie like she works at a diner which wasn't a whole lie since she does steal food and bring it to an abandoned diner for some of their dates

The second time they came for dinner Jazz did tell them she's thinking of dating them so-

"So, Johnny," Jack said, tone low as he sits near the biker "My Jazz said you have a motorcycle. I recall seeing a bit of it last time you were over."

Meanwhile Maddie did talk with Kitty and was more calm but still has a slight threat of "I know how to knock you both out if either of you hurt her" type of way

Hello! My other dc x dp notfic blew up overnight so here’s another one (this is not a part 2 but here is the link to Kingmaker, Kingbreaker, Crowntaker, Realmshaker where Danny is an important political ghost figure)

So, there are only a few Astronaut!Danny fics and most of them don’t quite land with me. They’re really good, but a lot of them have Danny getting his job at NASA because of his ghost powers. And like, nothing about Danny’s arc/s ever hints to me that he would show up to a government agency and give them a full rundown of his abilities – even for his dream job.

So instead of a protection-obsessed Danny, his Obsession develops as wanting to go to space. So, he’ll still fight the ghosts because he’s not a psycho with no regard for human life, but these fights aren’t a priority to him the same way in canon. Instead, Danny fights a lot dirtier, goes to 10 a lot faster – instead of it being a rarely used ability, his go-to is the Ghostly Wail in round one of a fight because it’ll get everything over nice and quick. He needs great grades to even enter the space program let alone astronaut training.

Because of this, Danny isn’t getting involved in problems just because ghosts are involved.

Did he turn the portal on for the first time? Yes.

Is it his responsibility because his parents refuse to add security or even just turn it off when not in use? Absolutely not!

There’ll definitely be a short-term dip in Danny’s grades but he plays up the “I was in a lab accident” thing to his school (actually more like he just didn’t cover it up) and can get extra credit or whatever (in Australia they’d just ignore the assignments you missed/failed and make your average from everything else but Teen Wolf fics often go on about extra credit so lets whack that in for Cultural Authenticity). But after that, Danny only gets involved if it’s getting really dangerous out there because he can’t skip this test/miss this homework etc.

Because of this, Phantom would probably be a lot more popular. Instead of running around and chasing ghosts and causing damage, he shows up like a Deus ex Machina when people are terrified, and lives are at risk. Downside is probably that Amity calls him Invis-o-bill for a while longer – he still wants to go by Phantom but correcting people isn’t his priority.

Also, his obsession makes his crush for Paulina turn off because I never found that a fun storyline. Also, when he gets in trouble for Dash’s bad behaviour he fights back against Dash and/or the teachers because “There’s a new documentary about theoretical White Holes tonight and our DVR gained sentience and ran off, so I have to watch it live.”

Downside of all these great changes? Jazz. In canon it takes ages for Danny to find out she saw his death-event. But in this, Danny’s personality changes are a lot more evident and drastic. I still don’t think the parents would suspect anything because my opinion of them is so far down it popped out of the other side of the Earth and spun off into the cosmos.

Jazz wants to be a psychologist. ‘Drastic changes in behaviour and personality’ are the early warning signs for hundreds of things from bipolar disorder, to drugs, to schizophrenia, sexual assault or joining a gang. She would be less likely to blow this off I think than in canon where his personality changes can be explained a lot more easily with “moody teen being taught by teachers who are on the bully’s side.” She figures out what’s happening a lot earlier. She doesn’t love that her baby brother is a ghostly hero, but his grades are great and it’s pretty hard to say “No you should let the town be destroyed and get a part-time job instead.”

So then, when the GIW come to town to try and set up, everyone is like “oh yeah, sure, go for it, except for Phantom, he’s our little meow meow.”

The GIW try to attack him anyway and the responding retaliation from Casper high students and most adults is so violent and extreme that the GIW mark the town as being completely 100% possessed with the hopes that they’ll get carte blanche to attack anyone they want in Amity (mostly because they’re petty manchildren).

However, declaring open season on an entire town is a bit much and all this ecto-nonsense is pretty new so the fear hasn’t 100% set into the administration. So instead, the President contacts the Justice League who call in the Justice League Dark (the magic department of the Justice League).

They’re probably freaked out but then Oracle finds footage of the ‘Possession attack on government agents’ from a security camera or something and Constantine is immediately like “None of those people are possessed, hope that helps, I have to go I’m late for a booty call with Beelzebub.”

MEANWHILE!!! Jazz has started coming to fights when she can (dressed like a real Fenton ghosthunter – Dad is so proud) and loudly announcing their insecurities because we know that psychic damage can actually cause ghosts to physically change (i.e. when Cujo is threatened he goes Big, when Spectra is satiated she appears more human, Amorpho’s whole thing). Within weeks, the less-evil ghosts want to make deals. I mean skulker and walker probably won’t want to concede, but the others get day-passes from the ghost zone like:

Ember can throw a concert and hypnotise everyone attending or streaming online but she has to let them go when the show is over.

Maybe Kitty can possess Jazz for a few hours for a date, or Tucker can build her a robot body assuming ghosts that aren’t Technus, master of all technology can possess electronics if they want to.

Eventually, Danny goes “Why is coming here so important, why do you go to so much effort and constraints to leave the Ghost Zone?”

And that’s when he finds out that the Ghost Zone is a ruthless, desolate place that’s awful and dangerous.

So, he calls the Justice League (Tucker gets him the number and he dials right into the Watchtower PA). And he essentially goes:

“I am Phantom, bridge between worlds. The ghosts of Amity Park were interfering with my Ghostly Dream and I have recently discovered that this is because the Infinite Realms is a sucky place to be. Can you fix it?”

The Justice League are thinking ‘wow two birds one stone and we get free amazing publicity!’ Then they talk to Constantine for two-point-five seconds, and he is all “It’s infinite, you morons, you can’t patch it up one villain at a time. Anyways I have to go sell my soul to a sixth party to prevent a magical demon war, peace out.”

So then, the Justice League are in Amity and tell Phantom that they’re very sorry but what he asked isn’t really feasible. And immediately they figure out that something is slightly off.

Now I stand by my headcanon that the Justice League wouldn’t immediately figure out Danny’s secret because there’s no real reason to think a ghost would have a secret identity.  But just speaking to any of the halfas you can tell they’re different. Less obsessive, don’t go violent as fast etc.

Now, just because they don’t realise Danny is 50% human, does not mean they did no research. They looked him up and came across historical records made during his time travel jaunts and immediately reach the fairly reasonable conclusion that he’s special, more powerful and more human because he’s just that old. So they ask him why the ghost zone is like that and if it could be changed or fixed – even just a small portion of it for use by less aggressive ghosts.

Danny admits he has no idea, but they could all go find out because it was Sunday. None of the Justice League know why the day is relevant but through the combined powers of Sam, Tucker and Jazz, they manage to get his parents onto the other side of town while they enter the ghost zone.

They quickly find Ghost Writer, because he’s an under-utilised character. He explains that long, long ago the ghost zone was a much brighter place with a golden sunrise sky and an overflowing font of ectoplasm under the rule of the powerful King of the Infinite Realms – Inferna the Bright. But he was brutally overtaken by the disgusting Pariah Dark. Inferna never recovered and the entire zone changed, becoming dark and harsh like her master whose obsession was subjugation. Pariah was sealed away, but by a large group instead of in single combat. So technically he was still at the helm of the entire dimension.

If only there was another ghost, brave and powerful enough to defeat Pariah Dark. One strong enough to bear the helm of the Crown of Fire. One with an obsession that would transform the ghost realm into a place of wonder once more.

Also, fyi Inferna doesn’t just sound like Inferno but is also Latin for the Underworld, so the implication is that they were king for FOREVER before Pariah.

Question after question, they start video calling. Sam is surprised to see how cute SpaceGhost turns out to be —or Danny, that's his name. She hates to have these shallow girl thoughts, buy she can't help it.

Weeks after the calls, they agree to meet because they live in the same city.

The boy is shy and a little awkward, he seems to be very sick and fragile, but she doesn't comment on it. He knows a lot about her interestes, even if he couldn't look more casual himself. He is a bit of a geek, maybe that is why he is so pale.

There's a serial killer on the loose in Amity Park. Someone has been killing young men and putting their bodies in weird satanic altar-like places: pentagrams, circles, septagrams, candles and weird incriptions. There is always a green substance on the scene, but nobody knows what it is.

Sam notices these crimes deeply upset Danny. He goes quiet and sometimes even shakes when he sees them.

A few months later, they share their first kiss. She is pretty sure that he disappeared for a split second in the kiss. But that's impossible, isn't it?

The murders are increasing, whoever does them is very good, the police has absolutely no clue and there are no fingerprints, hair or anything they can use to track the killer. It's as though he were a ghost, which earns him a name on the media: the Phantom Killer.

Danny is doing a lot better, he is tanner and more energetic. He is brimming with life.

The months go on, Danny and Sam are getting a little serious: this isn't some flirtation anymore. Is he going to get on one knee? Is she going to say yes? Is 23 too young or too old?

Danny disappears for weeks sometimes, when he is back, he always looks healthier and stronger. He barely resembles the boy she met on dark forums.

The murders are still happening, so the Mayor imposes a curfew on town. Danny seems displeased for this, but Sam couldn't care less: he just moved in with her, it's perfect for the cozy times she hopes to spend with him.

It's only a few weeks later that she begins to notice he leaves the bed sometimes in the middle of the night. Once, she followed to the living room to catch him in his computer, fully focused on whatever he's reading. She trusts him, but she can't help to wonder.

Months into this dynamic, she realizes that he drugs her once or twice in the month —unusual nights when she sleeps like a baby and he casually brings her his "special Fenton hot chocolate" before bed. She doesn't immediately confront him, because she wants to know what he is up to.

The next time he brings him the mug —the special Snow White Poisoned Apple mug he gave her for their first anniversary, of all things— she only pretends to drink it, spiting it on the sink as soon as he leaves.

In the middle of the night, around 3:00 AM, he gets up and leaves. She listens to him getting dressed, watches him walk away —peeking through the living room window— and get lost into the night. Sam follows him wearing only her night robe and carrying her phone and am electric gun, just in case someone tries to hurt her. Definitely not for Danny.

She witnesses in the cool air of the night, how he speaks with Dash Some-Big-Last-Name, their local sports star A.K.A. the village idiot. They go inside an abandoned building.

There is barely any light inside, but she can see a lot of flying shadows and hear many gutural voices. What is going on in there?

After what feels like hours, Danny comes out of the building, alone, looking tired and wearing a different outfit. She rushes back home as stealthy as she can, and makes it to the bed barely fifteen minutes before he's back, sleeping by her side.

Three weeks later, Dash is found dead on one of the altars.

Sam doesn't want to believe it. but the same routine repeats another three times. He is smart, he never waits the same amount of days between drugging her and putting his new victim on display. But why do all the bodies look so dry on the altar, even when they appear only a day after the goes hunting?

The fifth time she follows him, he finally notices.

Sam tries to get closer to the place he entered with his victim —this time a ruined factory— to see who or what are the shadows and deep voices. When she peeks through the window, the shadows are still shadows, but the voices are much clearer: they are giving orders. making deals, offering new things.

And Danny, he is discussing with them: he wants them to give him back what they promised, he says he has given them what was bargained for and the deal his parents made is done.

The shadows deny, they demand he must give them his woman and the deal will be through. Danny keeps arguing that his parents made a deal for the lives of 25 men his age, never a woman. Suddenly, he screams like a demon, his figure disappearing into a shadow that subjugates the others with a wail that could only come from the depths of hell. Sam covers her ears, horrifyed.

And that is when he sees her. He goes back to human, running after her. She fights him like a banshee, trying to run away or reach her taser. She reaches the weapon, but Danny easily takes it away. She faints.

When she wakes up, she is in her bed, with Danny resting by her side. He caresses her cheek, he says he thought he was done and safe to make a normal life with her, but he isn't. He has to keep giving them the lives of young men if he won't give them hers.

He explains that his parents made a deal for his life, he was a fragile baby and too close to death. The shadows gave him the ability to absorb the life of the ones he kills. Be tried with animals, but they life force is way too weak, so he will have to do this as long as he wants to live.

Danny kisses her forehead, confessing that he was going to let himself die instead of keeping on with the horror. But not now, not now that he has found love.

Sam tries to find the will to hate him, to be afraid, to murder him herself to stop him. She fails.

Idk if this is a fanfic or an outline for one, but i loved the idea. And I know that Sam is more likely to become a serial killer than Danny, but Danny would never be on dark forums out of fun.

Aight bitches, this’ll be the first chapter when the title starts to make sense. Dipper and Mabel are complete idiots and manage to get lost in the Ghost Zone trying to find Danny, who knows the place. Also, Tucker and Sam. I’m contemplating making one of them nonbinary, prolly Tucker. Yup. And Sam may or may not have she/they pronouns. I think that’s all. Enjoy my chaos.

Chapter 4

Danny did not sleep. Skulker, Ember, Johnny and Kitty decided it would be a great idea to wreck havoc. Ghosts do need order. They said that they only did it because they have no leader. Danny suspected Clockwork was behind it, but he was too tired to string together much of a coherent thought. So, goodbye sleep schedule! He’d sleep in Lancer’s class. What was one more detention? 

He greeted Sam and Tucker at the doors. The Pines Twins also showed up.  “Danny, did you get a new girlfriend while we were away?” Sam joked.  “Shutup. I’m not in the mood,” Danny grumbled. “Oh, it’s cranky pants!” Tucker laughed. They seemed to think his fucked up sleep schedule was a joke. “Don’t blame me, blame Skulker and Johnny,” “Those two usually have Kitty and Ember with them,” Sam said. She had a point. “Yeah, yeah. You know the gyst. Anyways, this is Mason and Mabel,” He gestured to the twins. “They accidentally caught me transforming. Also, we have to make a trip to the Ghost Zone,” “Call me Dipper!”  “Once again, I’m not using your stupid nickname,” “Come on Danny, don’t be a dick,” Sam laughed.  “Bold of you to assume I can be one,” Danny snorted. Tucker slung his arms over the other two.  “Only you get to make trans jokes. And maybe not in earshot of Dash,” They pointed at the quarterback. “Eh. I’m the heir to the Ghost Throne. What can he do?” “You’re the what now?” Sam and Tucker yelled in unison. “Clockwork told me yesterday. Also, they’re immune to Time Outs,” “How is that possible?” Sam was confused. Danny didn’t blame them. “We had a run in with Bill Cipher,” Mabel said confidently. “Sounds boring. Why would the guy with powers be called Bill?” “You’re just salty because you got called InvisoBill,” Tucker comforted him. “I have half a mind to reveal myself to the entire school,” “Bill was extremely dangerous,” “Danger dorito!” Mabel chimed in. “You are not helping me take this seriously. Tucker, get off,” Danny shoved Tucker off. They were elbowing him in the ribs.  “Oh come on, you know you like it. Mwah!” Tucker kissed Danny’s cheek. Danny became a tomato.  “Hey! Not in front of the entire school!” He was completely gone. He’d been dating Tucker for about a month now.  “You guys are dating?” Mabel looked heartbroken. What the fuck? “Uhh, yeah. Tucker’s into guys and I’m bi. But we’d prefer not to announce it to the entire school,” “You know what you should announce to the entire school? That you’re Danny Phantom. Only if you take the crown though,” Sam said. “I’m doing it. Jazz said it would be a good idea,” “We’ll need cover then. Dipper, Mabel, you get to guard the portal!” Sam said way too enthusiastically. “They’re new! They know nothing about it!” Danny protested. “Well, if it’s anything like Great Uncle Ford’s portal, we can handle it,” Mabel said.  “That shut down the moment he walked out Mabel,” “My parents’ Ghost Portal has been going strong for two years!” Danny said. “And caused all of the madness in Amity. Never mind half killing you,” Sam said. “That was entirely your fault,” Danny replied. “I concede to that point,” Sam accepted her fate.  “Good. Now, are you guys sure you can handle this?” Danny was skeptical. “Yup!” Mason and Mabel said. 

Sleeping in Lancer’s class was a one way ticket to detention. But what did that matter? At lunch, he ran up to the stage in the caf and transformed in front of the entire school.  “FENTON IS PHANTOM?” “HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE!?” “I’VE BEEN CRUSHING ON NERD BOY?” Ah, Paulina.  “Anywho, now that you’re all done panicking, yeah, it’s true. Tell whoever the fuck you want. I’m tired of lies and secrets. Also, I’m trans!” He flew off. He had to deal with a ghost. Val caught up with him before long.  “Are you a complete idiot?!” “Yup. But hey, who gives a fuck. Wes might get a kick out of it,” “You’re going to get yourself killed!” “Been there done that Val,” “Why?!” “Turns out I’m the heir to the Ghost Throne. Who the fuck is gonna mess with the all powerful Ghost King?” “You aren’t yet!” “I will be by the time school is over. Clockwork told me he’d help me out if I needed it,” The GAV came up under him.  “DANIEL FENTON! GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!” His mom yelled. “Nah, I’m good. You know, I’m surprised you didn’t notice your own son DIED,” “Danny, don’t be like that,”  “Don’t be like what Dad? Don’t be dead? Don’t protect Amity from ghosts? Oh! I’ll do you one better, don’t panic when you scream that you’ll rip me apart molecule by molecule? Now if you don’t mind, I didn’t sleep last night and the Box Ghost is back,” He rushed into the fight before they could see the tears.  “Danny!” He heard his mother howl in anguish.  “Hey bub. Fought you yesterday. I’m seriously not in the mood for a fight, so get in the fucking thermos!” He held out the thermos.  “BEWARE!” “SHUT UP!” He yelled and became invisible.  “Danny, we know you’re there,” Mom said.  “SO?! You know, I kinda hoped you would notice, but only Wes was smart enough to notice. I spent two years hiding. Now, I’ve got a Crown of Fire I need to take,” He sped off. There wasn’t gonna be more hiding.  “Wait, like Pariah Dark? Danny, that will corrupt your mind!” “Like being a half ghost has done? Oh, and just FYI, Vlad is half ghost too. Remember Plasmius? Vlad. Have fun!” He sped off for real this time.  “Vladdie’s a ghost?” Dad looked baffled. Danny sped past the school and grabbed the group.  “Was that really the best way to go about that?” Sam said. “You’re going to be all over the news!” Tucker screamed. “Meh. I was already. At least I’m not public enemy one anymore!” He dropped the Twins and sped into the portal. Sam and Tucker had put on the Fenton Phones already.  “Wes is having a field day,” Sam panted.  “Figured he would. Let’s go in,” They walked into Pariah’s Keep.“CLOCKWORK!” “Ah, I see you made the desicion to come,”  “Yup. Does there need to be a ceremony or something? Cause I just announced my identity to the entire school,” “Like a fucking dumbass,” Tucker muttered. “Bold of you to assume I could be anything but,” “Sorry Tuck, Danny’s right,”  “Yay! I can be right for once! Take that Jazz!” “About your dumbassery,” Tucker groaned. “Semantics. Let’s do this,” “You just need to place the crown atop your head, then place the ring on your hand. Right hand, ring finger,” “Does it have to be just like that?” “Bad things happen if you do it any other way,”  “Okay,” He sighed and did as told. He shivered as the crown became ice and a black billowing cape came off his shoulders. “Weird,” “Dude, you’re the Ghost King!��� Tucker screamed.  “Ahh! Advanced hearing! Where’d that come from?” Danny covered his ears.  “When you become king, all of your existing abilities become amplified and you gain new ones,” “Oh yay. More powers to master,”  “Okay, this is great and all, but what does he do now?” Sam said.  “My ears,” Danny cried.  “Sorry,” She whispered.  “Your eyesight will also be advanced. You won’t notice it much here, but in the human world, it will become obvious,” “And painful to adjust to,” Danny muttered.  “Brrr. Danny, it’s freezing,” Tucker shivered.  “If I was bad at controlling that before, you think I can now?”  “Sorry dude. Let’s head back,” “I need to tell the people my first rule real quick,” “What’s that?” “Don’t wreak havoc in the human world. They can still go, but don’t do anything that endangers the humans,” “Huh. Good plan,” Sam shivered. “You sure you can’t control that?” “I’m doing what I normally do to fix it times 10!” “So it could be colder?” Tucker shivered. “Go home and get jackets,” Danny sighed. He pointed and a portal opened. “The fuck?!”  “Congrats dude, you can make portals!” Tucker clapped. “At least we won’t have to use the Fenton one anymore,” Sam shivered into her shirt. Danny concentrated and made portals directly into their houses. He grinned.

Dipper and Mabel heard footsteps coming into the basement and had no place to hide, so they jumped into the portal. The place was terrifying.  “Mabel, this is freaky,” Dipper shivered. It was oddly cold.  “You think Grunkle Ford felt this way when he travelled through dimensions?” “Not that he told me,” They both shivered. A strange vehicle came rushing past.  “Was it always this cold in here Mads?” Jack Fenton said.  “Not that I remember,” She shivered. The temperature fluctuated randomly.  “He’s in here somewhere!” Jack exclaimed and sped off.  “That’s Danny’s parents! We gotta find him!” They followed the strange machine.

Sam and Tucker took five minutes to get jackets. He’d managed to grab Jazz in the mean time.  “Hoodie. I’m not wearing the stupid jumpsuit with this cape,”  “Since when do you have a fashion sense?” Sam laughed. “Since never. I just like the hoodie more,” He pulled the hood up. The temperature went up. “Hey! That’s neat,” It went down again. “Heh,” “Don’t get excited until you figure this out better,” Tucker groaned.  “Deal,” He laughed nervously. “Okay, how do I get them all to come here? I’m not the greatest at this,” “Just yell announcement. That usually makes them teleport directly here,” Clockwork said. Danny obliged. His voice was really loud.  “I guess that’s another one to add to the list,” He chuckled. All the ghosts in the Zone teleported to his feet. They grumbled. “Uh, hi guys. I’m not very good at this royalty thing, so I’m only gonna really give you one new rule. I’ll get rid of all the stupid rules later. Just, uh, don’t wreak havoc in the human world. Don’t endanger humans. Like, you can still go, but avoid being dangerous,”  “King Phantom, are you sure that’s the best plan? You are going to enforce rules that protect us from the humans too, aren’t you?” Dora’s voice rang through. “Oh shit. The whole guys in white incident a while back. Yeah, I’ll come up with something,” He rubbed his temples. “Also, can I get some help learning how to make it less freezing all the time?” “Of course Great One. The people of the Far Frozen would love to help,” Frostbite said. “Thanks Frostbite?” He grinned. At least until he saw the Spectre Speeder pull up. Fuck.  “Look at all these ghosts! I’ve gotta catch a few!” His dad yelled. The ghosts looked terrified.  “Hey! You aren’t going to do that! HOW DARE YOU?!” Danny sped down to the Speeder. “Danny, I can’t believe you aren’t trying to capture these ghosts for science!” Jack said. The world became very, very cold.  “These are sentient people that you just decided to barge in on! You’re always like this! And it’s my job to protect them just as much as I protected you! GET OUT OF THE ZONE NOW!” He screamed.  “Danny, calm down. We just want to help you,” “No you don’t. I won’t let you endanger ghosts for ‘science’. It’s cruel and wrong. Would you do that to a human?” “Of course not. But ghosts aren’t sentient. Their emotions aren’t real. Just displays put on to convince you that they have them,”  “HOW. DARE. YOU! You have no right to barge in here and threaten these people. Some of them may have harmed you, but the way you act like they’re nothing, like they aren’t standing here right now, is horrible. This is Frostbite,” He grabbed Frostbite. “ He leads a stable society in the Far Frozen. He’s never left the Ghost Zone and never once harmed me. You know what the first thing he did when he met me? He gave me a hug. And you would torture him just for being a ghost. You think you know everything, but you know NOTHING! LEAVE NOW!” “Danny, is this really how you feel?” Maddie looked sad.  “Get. Out. I’m destroying the portal on your way out. If I EVER find you back here, I will not hesitate to cause harm,” “The crown’s already begun to corrupt you!” Jack protested.  “No, my views haven’t changed. You hurt ghosts. You hurt me! I’m trying my hardest all the time all you care about is your beliefs,”  “They’re true!” “No, most of them aren’t. You don’t even bother talking to a ghost. Ghost have feelings, feel pain, have a society. Maybe it’s different than what you’re used to, but that doesn’t invalidate it,” Danny sighed again. “Just leave,” He turned around and flew back up to the chunk of land.  “Danny...” “DIDN’T HEAR ME?! LEAVE!” He whipped around and yelled. 

Sam, Tucker and Jazz followed him into the castle. He stared at Pariah’s sarcophagus.  “Danny, I know that was difficult, but you were right to do it,” Jazz put her hands on his shoulders. He must’ve been freezing.  “They really don’t listen. I have no clue what I’m doing, but I do know that the ghosts have a right to my protection,” He heard screaming. “You know what’s weird? If I close my eyes tight enough, I can see all over the Zone. And I think the Twins got lost in here,” “Let’s go get them,”

The Fentons came rushing past again. They didn’t seem to have Danny though.  “I can’t believe he’s protecting ghosts!” Maddie sobbed. “He’s gonna destroy our life’s work!” “I know,” All of a sudden, Danny appeared before them.  “Hey guys. Get lost?” He smiled. The crown floating above his head serving as a daunting reminder.  “Yeah, we were trying to find you to warn you about your parents,” “I dealt with them,” The temperature fluctuated again. “Sorry, my hands are cold. But you need to get home,” He opened a portal and they flew threw it. He teleported away.

He went down to the basement and destroyed the portal. His parents looked mortified.  “Finally. I won’t be constantly reminded how I died,” He sighed. Maddie and Jack said nothing. “Humph,” He teleported away and made a portal back to the Zone.

Phandom Pairing Master List

      Here it is, folks! An updated/updating list of ships from Danny Phantom!

      The purpose of this list is documentation and, more importantly, reference. Have a ship that you want to share, but don’t know what to tag it as? Well, this list is for you, so you can tag your pairings appropriately! Is there a ship out there that you despise, or are just uncomfortable about? Check this list to see if it has a name, and you can blacklist its tag!

      Here’s how it’s set up: the list is divided into 3 categories. These categories are the Humans, the Ghosts, and the Ghosts/Humans; each category goes through in alphabetical order. Every pairing is either marked with [P] or [R] to indicate platonic or romantic.

      You may notice that there are a decent handful of unnamed pairings; this is simply due to me being unable to find a pre-established name and/or coming up with one at this time. I hope to update this list over time until everything has at least one name.

      Suggestions are more than welcome! Think of a pairing you didn’t see? Got a ship name? Throw them at me, and I’ll add them to the list.

Oh man, I just love the analysis for Vlad x Spectra that you did; it's REALLY well thought-out! 😄 I was wondering, would you be interested in doing something similar for Jazz x Kitty? This popped into my head after seeing that small post you made in June on my dash again lol

Well, I can say I never expected to talk about this ship. That post was mostly made as a joke. But hey, I had fun with the Vlad x Spectra one, so why not? Talking about the potential possibilities of characters that aren’t really seen interacting can be really interesting. I can’t promise this will be as in depth as the Vlad x Spectra, but I’ll do my best.

Something to keep in mind is that romance doesn’t seem to be a priority for Jazz. The only time she shows any romantic interest in anyone is in 13, when Kitty’s influence makes her attracted to Johnny. In fact, despite being the busybody that she is, Jazz doesn’t have many strong relationships outside of her family. Most of her peers seem to find her annoying, and the only genuine connection she was able to form on her own was with Freakshow, of all people.

Kitty and Jazz also don’t have a lot in common. Kitty is hot tempered and a more vicious fighter than her boyfriend. She enjoys sight seeing, make up, and accessorizing. While she’s not outright mean or malicious, her morals are a bit more loose and she’s not above causing drama to get what she wants. She has a love for the human world, but no consideration for humans themselves.

Jazz is described, even by herself, as meddling and overprotective. She considers herself a mature adult, and she spends more time thinking about careers and school than most kids her age. She tries to get involved in people’s lives, psychoanalyze them, and figure out their problems. She does this all out of goodwill, though she comes across as annoying to some. Despite her lack of any real friends, she’s still bubbly and friendly to just about everyone she meets.

When you also consider that Kitty and Jazz have been enemies multiple times, it seems like it’d be difficult for a connection to form between them. At first glance, there’s not much they’d find appealing about each other, and they haven’t actually interacted one on one at all. It’d be hard to get past their first impressions of one another.

The best scenario I can think of that would get these two together in a positive way would be if Kitty came to the human world specifically looking for some girl time. She and Johnny seem to argue a lot, and both of them have a tendency to take out their frustrations in Amity Park. If, post Girls Night Out, Kitty decided she still needed a break from boys, it wouldn’t be too unreasonable for her to head right back to Amity Park. It’d especially make sense if she wasn’t on the best terms with the other ghost girls after all of that.

Of course, Kitty’s outdated sense of fashion would make it tough for her to fit in with girls like Paulina. She wouldn’t fit in with the nerdy and/or geeky crowds, either. Her spooky look might get her in with punks or goths, but that’d get Sam’s attention, and she wouldn’t be welcomed by her with open arms. Since Kitty and Johnny are both often shown gravitating toward people they’re already familiar with anyway, Jazz might be her best option.

While it’s unlikely things would start out well between them, Kitty has been shown to be easy to get along with. She’s jealous, stubborn, and somewhat inconsiderate, but her primary goal has never been hurting people. Danny’s able to sit her down and talk to her unlike a lot of ghosts, and she only gets violent when something really ticks her off.

Since Jazz is a much better listener than a lot of people around her (as well as someone who doesn’t always punch first), she may be willing to hear Kitty out. The needs and desires of others matter a great deal to her, something Kitty would probably appreciate a lot. Johnny’s never been the best at listening or paying attention to her, and having a friend who actually wants to do both of those things would be nice.

How things would progress from there...is questionable. Again, Jazz only shows romantic interest in Johnny when under Kitty’s influence, and there’s no sign that she wants to date outside of that. In fact, she more often shows disinterest in dating and relationships.

For anything to come of Kitty’s friendship with Jazz, she’d have to be the one to initiate it. Considering her track record, she might take a bit of a devious route with it. She’s not looking to cause harm, but she doesn’t care that much about the feelings of others when it comes to getting what she wants. There are a lot of ways she could trick or manipulate Jazz into liking her that she might find easier than trying to win her over traditionally.

Once she was inevitably exposed, things would end badly. Whether the result was Kitty being immediately sucked into the Fenton Thermos or Jazz trying to talk to her about why that’s so wrong would depend on the writer. These things are kind of flexible in this series, though I wish they weren’t.

This shouldn’t be too surprising, considering I mentioned the idea in the context of Kitty being an antagonist. Even with that aside, I don’t believe Kitty and Jazz would work out in the long run. Their interests are so different and Jazz isn’t enough of a romantic for someone like Kitty. I could see them remaining friends, though, providing Kitty learned that using and manipulating people the way she sometimes does is more hurtful than she realized.

Kitty might still be attached to the human world more than most ghosts, but her morals and priorities are far more in line with ghosts than humans. A romantic relationship for her would be much easier with another ghost. An episode similar to this could be beneficial to her character, though, and leave her on better terms with both Jazz and Danny.

Can you guys tell that I like Kitty and feel her potential in the plot was kind of missed?
