Hamaguchi creates unique work with a strong impact exploring the motif of maniacal icons such as TV celebrities, Japanese idols, Showa period actors and cult gurus. In this exhibition Hamaguchi will be showing a new series of paintings relating to what he found or didn’t find on TV that mirrors the truth of society, or not. Hamaguchi’s overwhelming creativity and insight will uniquely interpret the other side of the superficial world of television. Da kann ich doch tatsächlich den zweiten Tag in Folge punkten. Yeah! Disclaimer: Was das hier ist? Nachdem ich mir im letzten Jahr diesen kleinen Kalender gekauft hatte, kam mir die Idee, diesen auch wirklich zu „nutzen“. Außer jeden Tag drauf zu schauen, ein Kalenderblatt abzureißen, nahm ich mir vor, das jeweilige Album am gleichen Tag auch zu hören. Gleichzeitig schaue ich nach ob ich das Album in meiner Sammlung habe und wenn es mir gefällt, oder ich tatsächlich „schwerwiegende“ Lücken in meinem Regal entdecke, dann kauf‘ ich das Album nach. I suffered from it horribly for weeks before any piano recital I ever did. The anxiety I would feel prior would have me in knots for days. Unable to eat or sleep, I would sit in front of my grandmother’s Steinway practicing for days. I remember preparing for a small Chopin prelude thinking the thing just might bury me. But when it came down to the performance itself, it was the sweetest release from the deepest recesses of my soul. #StageFright #FineArt #Mixedamedia #Assemblage
